Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be fully optimized for the Xbox Series X and S
"Halo the masterpiece collection is getting out of positions for xbox series x answers US Allesandro Barbosa at Gamespot with the launch of the xbox Jerry's ex answer is just around the corner Mexico's continually adding to its growing loser exclusives they'll be enhanced for its new consoles Halo. The question will be included to support for one, hundred, twenty, five per second and up to four. K.. It had a collection will receive an update on November seventeenth a week. After the console launch, they'll optimize the entire catalogue of hill classics. The capabilities of the new consoles that means one hundred twenty FBI support in both campaigns and multiplayer as well as four K support and additional split straight out traditions on the. Other although the tweet makes mentioned other capabilities, a series experts of the game. The update will be free, of course, include SMART, delivery program. The game also included an Xbox game pass on console and as well as game PA- XBOX game streaming on android. Brand have you have you partake in? This collection at some point. I haven't it's been on, you know a very long list of twos, but I able to probably won't come anytime soon but I do love Halo and I think it's awesome that they've continued to. You know obviously take their main mainstay franchise in keep it updated. You know when they remastered that content. Great but now In, lieu of being launched with xbox series snl it's going to be nice. Hopefully have this. The lean on an saw that hale marketing we see out there is. Kinda. True. They're they're really on Halo for like showing their new thing like when Was it three sixty backwards compatibility. Only worked with Halo One and two at first and then. And then like. Part of backwards apparently, this time around has been halo, and then again, this this as a smart delivery centerpiece, Halo a lot of sets. It is cool that led. They're like they're going forward. They're going like, Hey, let's do because I time they said like. Sony or Microsoft Says Floor One, hundred, twenty, five pm like. Yeah, sure. Rally that. There are actually gonNA show it like, Hey, this is what you actually do. Need the by two point one, four than cool. I'm glad that like they're doing that was something. Yeah. It's nice to have actually like a legit. You know salad multiplayer experience running hopefully at a consistent hundred and twenty. Frames and for you if you buy that new TV to be able to actually see that because I don't know what other multiplayer games shooters are going to be one twenty hertz at this point I don't know heard of any yet. I'm sure there will be some but I. Don't know that there. Well, showpiece I. Both platforms the fact is is fully optimized. It seems to be saying it will be one hundred twenty frames on both, but only be up to four K. on the series x little. There's like heavy details on this though by the way, the tweet zero, it pretty much just a tweet with some check marks and like wearily somebody else tweeted it like just before the exact same tweet, a couple of minutes beforehand. So myself set the league or something. Yeah, but is it is cool that doing this I don't expect most games. We'll do it in the future. I expect that like maybe some remastered here and there. But like we're not GONNA get one twenty F- on Mike? I would if we get a hundred twenty F- bs on. More. Than Twenty Retail Games I would be shot. In the whole generation. Yes. I don't think that'd be because I think that you're going to see people start the. Co optimize like because I. Feel like we're going back to what got me like a lot of hot water the last time I was on the show just reminded people that like, Hey, if you buy a three hundred dollar machine versus the five hundred dollar one, we'll you might want to be aware that it may not be as powerful as the five hundred dollar one that's always trying to say between the S. and the X. Right and there was just a slew of comments like Fran is an idiot and Get. It my point I, was trying to make was you'll see like this is up to four K.. It's awesome that you're going to see one hundred twenty optimize on an older game. But where I'm going with this I do think you'll see a new games that maybe on the the. Again I'm just speculating I'm not saying S is not capable depending on what they do, but it won't be as capable US how it works. Of course, not of course, I wouldn't people Nydia like. The processor is going to be better, which is the main thing, the frame rates, GonNa depend on and like to be clear what I'm saying like. Twenty Games. I mean like games built for this generation not like games that were from last whipping up right. When you say the process you better you're saying in the s any X, right? Yes both. Share the same process or Family. They do. Yeah. It's a slate under clocking. Yeah. It's just a few. You know point to hurts difference basically right but we're to finish the thought what I was saying is. I do think you will see what's get to the point where coastal lake to see where it's like Oh. Yeah it runs in. I'm just GONNA use the analogy like medium settings on the xbox series x and it'll be a hundred twenty I. think you'll see those opportunities almost certainly on the series x we'll. We see it as often on the S I don't know and I'm not knocking it for that I. do think it's incredible value. It is unbelievable value. I should actually say I've said it many times it's unreal that there's a three hundred hour console that is going to be as powerful. And Slick, as the seems to be. So
A Look At The new Samsung Tablet
"Well, let's keep. Let's keep the Samsung train rolling and If there's one device form factor that we're not skeptical about that, we actually wish we saw more of the got to play with more often that would be tablets. And the Galaxy Tab get. Samsung. Galaxy Tab seven plus came out and had you had some time with it and you wrote a pretty good review for over android central. Tell me tell me all about the galaxy. Tab. Seven pluses. Is it a good tablet? IS WORTH PEOPLE'S MONEY? Is that the future of tablets? So the this one, I'm a bit less bullish on that I, am with the with the full to. It is a fantastic tablet. So I guess we'll quickly run through some of the some of the features with it. I'M GONNA try not to hit my microphone Basically, you've got most of the same specs as some of Samsung's recent phones you've got like a snapdragon eight, sixty, five plus. Sixty eight gigs of Ram twenty gigs of storage, etc.. The point is basically it's just this very, very powerful tablet. You've got a twelve and a half inch one twenty hertz screen? and. The screen just looks gorgeous. It's it's one of the best screens of a any device of used in recent memory the the trouble of course, because it's an android tablet it, it starts to come when you need apps. So If you're just using tablet for media streaming, maybe you know Netflix Youtube, etc. It's it's totally fine. It's got each Dr Support. It's it's quite hd display. It's GonNa Look Gorgeous for everything you watch on it but I do a lot of creative from a video editing to photo editing and audio production and none of that with the exception of photo editing is really great on an android tablet. There's no full version of photoshop like get on an IPAD. At even Dobie Premier Rush, which is available on Android, and it's sort of the answer to android users saying I wish I had luma fusion like the IPAD premiere Russia's a great option but I wasn't able to download that on the tablet seven plus it's just it doesn't show up on the play store so. There's there's a lot of frustration in in terms of I guess sort of pro grade media creation APPs and that that's sort of the thing that I would want this four when you've got this amazing screen and of the tools like the SPN and the really nice keyboard accessory But on the bright side, what I, what I talked a lot about my review is that it has this decks interface where you enable it and it basically turns the tablet into a laptop style interface. You get you get flu windows that you can pin to each side of the screen You get a task for all the stuff that makes it feel like a chromebook or any laptop and the main advantage there is that it lets you sort of run because you can run window to APPS. You can run the phone versions of certain APPs that aren't optimized for giant screen and so things like instagram work a lot better index than they do on a regular tablet view where base fills the entire screen with one giant instagram APP decks really really helps sort of fixed at least the casual the casual ended up issue there so that that's been a big help I think. As. Far as whether or not it's worth I. mean this is this is an eight, hundred, fifty dollars tablet that if you want the keyboard I think you really need the keyboard. It's GONNA cost another two thirty plus you know if you want to get more storage or get five G. support, that's all gonNa cost even more of course. So it becomes this thousand plus dollar tablet that it's it's. Difficult to recommend, I would say for most people. I mean, those numbers are close to laptop numbers right for like I mean I mean for powerful laptop numbers I mean you can get a much. You can get an affordable laptop and you can even get affordable convertible laptop that also functions as a tablet for under a thousand dollars. So yeah, I could see where it gets price prohibitive. Absolutely. I mean I think if you had more of those apps like Photoshop and premier premiere rush it would be a lot easier to recommend just because then if you if you just prefer a tablet over a laptop this is a great option but Without, those apps I mean really what this is to me is a great media streaming device and it's a great gaming device, but you don't have to spend eleven hundred plus dollars to get those sorts of things in in other veterans. So it's just a hard sell for for I think most types of users. At the same time, it's nice that there are options in that range were for the few people who are willing to spend like I think that that kind of that reminds me of the conversation around like the Pixel Book and the Higher End Chrome Os laptops slot like the Pixel book you know where there are thousand dollars plus and the majority of people are GonNa look at that and be like why I spend a thousand dollars on a web browser or whatever everybody says about Chrome Os. But then there there is always that particular few that they're like, no, you know what my work like. Operate. In Chrome Os and I want the best damn device to run CHROMA less and so I'm willing to drop a thousand dollars on it and I. I could see someone out there appreciating that there's a thousand dollars tablet that you know that is like the best thousand dollar android tablet. But yeah by a large, that's probably not most people and especially considering the fact that tablets and android have really not been a very magical ca category combination. You know not in the same way that IPAD and I o S. And iphone have been you know apple has made a very successful business out of its tablet side of things and debris you'll. I have to wonder how much of that and I'm speaking completely from a position of ignorance here. But how much of that is a is a difference in position between apple and Google in terms of a development developers resource or incentive. You know you've got imagine apple went to adobe and made incentivize them to create a full version of punishment. That works may IPAD is Google. Just not doing that t to adobe right they are. Are they being the typical kind of Google unapproachable and not re proactively reaching out to the companies of the APPS that they need in order to make these things make these things become a viable product line they just saying we'll put you know we'll support the operating system. We'll let the OEM's make make the devices and hope that people put good apps on it but could google, get more proactive in terms of soliciting those kind of APPs I think they could. Yeah I mean it's it's this sort of endless circle right because right now Basically you know it's it's not worth it from Google's perspective to to you know sort of incentivize companies to make apps because people don't buy android tablets but people don't buy android tablets because Google doesn't make anybody make good injury jobs. So I really you know. You solve that but. I do think if if you're married to the idea of an android tablet, if you just I mean I love android. On, a phone at least if you really just want android on a tablet, this is easily the best tablet. There is I think from a hardware perspective. This is as Nice if not nicer to me at least than any I have ever used. So there's definitely a lot compelling. Plus the fact that it even though it's expensive, it is a little bit cheaper than an ipad Pro twelve point nine and it comes with the SPN in the box. So you get a bit of a Freebie there So I mean if I guess if your needs don't go beyond what android tablet APP ecosystem can offer your this is this is a great pickup I just such. Eleven hundred bucks is a lot to ask for. So you. So you just touched a question from the chat room. So the pen comes with it right? The pen, but the keyboard is an add on for a couple couple. Hundred Bucks, right Yeah, that'll be two thirty with the keyboard you get obviously the keyboard itself which comes with a track that and then also comes with a back cover that I think is really really handy even if you even if you don't need the keyboard you just WanNa use this as a media device. The back cover is magnetized and it it gives you this almost three sixty hinge. So you can. You can prop up the tablet at basically any angle it's very rigid. I really liked the hinge a lot I don't know if they actually sell that separately without the keyboards for people that don't plan on typing, but it's it's like I said, I think the keyboard and the back cover sort of bundle is is really a must have for for the tablet if you really want to get the most out of it and not just I guess without it, you're basically just using it as a note taking device, which is great. But for eight hundred, Fifty Bucks, you might as well go the extra mile and and get the the other accessories that make it more usable. Even more money. Talks luck. Yeah. That's right there if if Samsung's doing its job, right, then that would be the no brainer decision of anyone thinking about buying one of these. But I guess the question is, do they sell enough of them for be worth it and? Simply always surprises me as far as that's concerned but they might not sell enough from the outside looking in, but they obviously selling up because it keeps making them

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus: A Big Android tablet
"Somewhat interesting announcement was the galaxy. Tab s seven and s seven plus look these leaked. We knew they were coming but now that they're official and their prices and their specs, I I haven't cared about an android tablet really longtime these tablets sound like tablets you might want to care about for the first time in a while they started six hundred, fifty bucks they're not cheap tablets are high end tablets are we're pretty sure they're after I need sixty five's aren't they hundred twenty hurts yeah. Hundred Twenty Hertz refresh rates on their super high rez displays ones and LCD ones that amyloid. There Super Hot. So hundreds again, high-resolution lots of Ram lots of storage quad speakers. They can have five G. View on the run ANDROID ten with Samsung's one you I. HAVE SPF functionality. They look really nice. They're big like what's the smaller one would size display like it's also larger eleven inch yes. Eleven inches, and then the other one's twelve point four like this are huge. These are like many TV's but the accessories like keyboard stands and all that stuff I like attempted to grab one and just play with it I. Just I just don't know that. I believe that Andrey is good at all on tablets still and I just I think that'll probably be the frustrating experience there. Mutt they're coming I think also August twenty first I. Believe they. They finally
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra review: Everything we love -- and don't -- so far
"Bunch. So renew was coming. It's all official now. So Galaxy note twenty, no twenty old tra- you have ultra I doubt we will ever get our hands on the no twenty because no one should buy it Ultra Tim has galaxy watched three actually have one of those or here doubts on in two sizes Galaxy Buds live, which we will just call the galaxy beans little being ear buds neither of US have those I don't know that we're going to. Like, you're satisfied with the buds plus I like these I dunno like the only don't know how they go in your ear. the beans are official and then the Galaxy Tab, a seven seven, plus which we also don't have because we haven't reviewed at android tablet like seventeen years Those are official although they do look really really good. We talk about those for just a brief minute if we want to and then finally they showed off the phone that I will sell everything in my house to buy in that will be the galaxies Z fold. To Oh. Yeah. So we'll save that for a minute. Let's let's talk. No Twenty, nine, twenty ultra. Cool start here so They announced There's two phones obviously ones Nice. The Ultra One's not so nice. The regular note twenty I'm being extra critical here because. Samsung wants to charge a thousand dollars for the regular one. The, ultras thirteen hundred. The regular one has a ten eighty p sixty hertz display in a plastic body and they want a thousand dollars for IT I. I know there's other stuff going on here. They packed all the other stuff in it, but those two things certainly do not scream. Thousand Dollars to me No. But. They did do that. So It's available for preorder. Now, Bulfon's actually we are. Now They Arrive August twentieth or twenty first somewhere in there and everyone has them. There's unlocked models. There well, I should say the ultra a while it is a huge phone and I don't think I could use the thing. It's got kind of everything again right although. The storage at one hundred, twenty, eight Gig that lower than last year's like did the note ten plus days was to fifty six yeah. So they dropped that it does quite easy. Display Hundred Twenty Hertz, which is which is sweet snapdragon need sixty, five plus five g twelve gig Ram five, twelve, top tier storage hundred, twenty Gig on the low end and yeah I think that's kind of step backwards. we got way too many cameras including one, hundred, eight megapixel big I. Laser autofocus forty, five, hundred, million power battery. I know that still large but the ultra I think that's twenty. Five thousand south slightly smaller but you do have an aspen. The spend has like super low latency and stuff, right? It's like the fanciest s date and this. What else we have stereo speakers you have ms again for Samsung pay of course Oh we don't have the super fast charging rate like the. Thirty five or whatever it was from last year like that's not back. So it's like they took away a couple of. We have like an upgraded superfast charging to dotto or something I can tell you the team last year. But like remember they were it was like a forty five watts like a forty five watts Samson charger. Discipline one either doesn't support that or they're just not maybe not including it. It's something weird like that. So shocked kind of it seems like they kind of took away a couple of things to keep the price is still thirteen hundred dollars sound like they cut any corners here no either way it's a it's a pretty crazily specked out found. It comes in the mystic bronze which Tim has everything comes in mystic bronze. There's also a black and then there's also a white version Of course, they send you the mystic bronze because they're so proud of mystic bronze I don't know.
Galaxy Unpacked News
"Today there was no surprise in what was announced because everything leaked. In the days and weeks before the event, in fact, last night. Evan. Blasts. Just does leaked every single. hooped it out. It was there on his feed if you wanted to learn about what was going to happen. In on August, fifth, you could go to his feet nonetheless, there was a lot to talk about. So we'll start with the galaxy note twenty. There are two phones, they are not that different incised this year, but they are very different feature sets. There is three hundred dollars between them. Along with a lot of differences in. The way that they're built, they're designed their cameras, their battery, their storage, basically everything else about them, but they look fairly similar. And we'll start there. So Andrew, you've got a chance to play with these two phones at aforementioned hands on session. What's your quick take on them? So, yet, it's a different strategy than the no ten as you as you say there that the the note we kind of that, the note twenty was going to be the small one and it's not These phones are within a couple millimeters of each other in terms of height and width, and only about ten grams apart on weight. So they're both. Big phones third of a roughly galaxy s twenty plus size. They're actually both a little smaller than s twenty ultra. Fantastic. But the you just immediately noticed that the ultra is the high end high high end one, and there's something a little off about the twenty They don't even use the same design, which is kind of weird. The this kind of flat boxy. Style with the you know really tight corners on the note, twenty old Tra is classic note, and then you look at the regular twenty in, it's kind of more rounded. The bengals are a little bigger at as a flat screen. The the radius of the corners on the display is different for some reason, it just doesn't really look like the same phone and then you flip it over in the back. Is this Matt. Plastic finish rather than glass and And it's just so weird when you see them side by side now, I'm not sure how normal people will perceive these when they look at them in person may be one on one rather than together. But when you look at them together, it just feels like this is one actual note, and then another like galaxy s something or another that they decided to put a stylus in, and then you look at the internals and that kind of the story continues there. Yeah I mean, there's something to be said about pudding, the snapdragon eight, sixty five plus in the main line, no twenty. But also you know festoon it with a plastic back or as they call it classic because they want to bring black. Did. Glass whole of some sort but I don't know what's what's what's your take on that? There really is so severely separating these two phones for the first time in functionality. But putting of, but putting obviously, what is a very expensive component in the snapdragon eight, sixty, five plus front and center? Yeah. I assume that the eight sixty five pluses there. From just a standardization standpoint because they're releasing at the same time. So they might as well have the same chipset with the same radio. You know, obviously, they both have the same five G. capabilities, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense because you don't need the eight, sixty, five there when it's a ten ADP display at sixty hertz when Samsung when? You know one twenty Hertz across the board on everything else and talked up this huge game about how one twenty Hertz is. You know all amazing on the no twenty ultra and it's on the tablet seven reduces your aspen latency. They went sixty hertz on the display and they only put eight gigs of Ram in it so. The the higher end chip set on its own doesn't make a lot of sense, and that's not really ever going to be the bottleneck and what you're doing. Anyway. So I, kind of just write that off. But would you add up all those little things? It seems. Unnecessary to harp on it so much. But you got to remember that these by Samsung Zone emission are for the the fans who are really ended this kind of SPEC, nerd stuff getting the best of the best, and then you deliver this note that we're talking about this with the League's feels more like a note, twenty light. But of course, it's priced the same as in as twenty. Yeah. That sounds very strange. Mean hot. So you remember going hands on with the note, no ten light at CS earlier this year, and that phone was positioned as the you know giving everybody the note experience for. Six hundred dollars. But if you dug into the specs, it was actually. Less interesting than the s ten light that eventually went on sale in North America. So what's your take on that the the? Delta. Between these two phones and kind of the price difference being only three hundred dollars even though there is such a major SPEC difference. I mean I think the fact that they both have the same processor definitely helps kind of close that gap a bit. But a again, you know sixty hertz and and the plastic backing, it's. It's really strange because the s twenty series starts at the same thousand bucks. You're getting all the Nice things that the new twenty alter has i. think the thing that. Sort of justifies the regular note twenty away maybe not quite is that it's not a downgrade in any sort of way from the note, Ten Asya losing the the glass back You know I've seen a lot of people lately saying that they prefer plastic bags because they're. You know they're not as fragile and whatever else. But I. I, definitely would prefer the glass personally. But you know like you're not losing sixty. Hertz. Urges, are you not losing one twenty hurts because the note ten had sixty to begin with?
Can Animals Predict Natural Disasters?
"Sager. Have you heard about help? Het sometimes go missing just before an earthquake hits or how about in two thousand and four when a soon Nami hit Southeast Asia and killed more than two hundred thousand people but almost no wild animals. And did you know that dogs? Elephants antelopes bats. And even flamingos fled the scene before the wave. Hit even flamingos. Many people assume it's because animals are more attuned to their environment than we are others like the United States Geological Survey Gency say there's no connection between animal behavior and natural disasters. But if there were wouldn't it weren't a closer look think of the impact. It would have if we knew. Animals could predict dangerous natural events now the majority of researchers looking into this art claiming animals have a sixth sense or anything supernatural going on what they do think is that animals make greater use of their senses than we do using these. They react to environmental signals. That we stupid humans. Just don't notice of course different species have varying sensitivity to these fluctuations and most evidence is anecdotal but if animals are aware of natural disasters. Here's how they know. When troubles a-coming most likely animals can hear sounds that we can't especially the infrasonic low pitched vibrations made by earthquakes. Storms volcanoes avalanches and oceans in some studies. Researchers found that these sounds usually lower than twenty hertz make humans uneasy and even nauseous so with their greater spectrum of hearing. It makes sense that animals would perceive these before us as unsettling. If you heard a deep rumbling sound coming at you from a wide angle what would you do to hang out and make sandwiches or would you run for your life? One study that supports infrasonic. Hearing theory happened when Stanley Coren was studying whether dogs suffered from seasonal affective disorder. One day many of his one hundred ninety three tests. Dogs suddenly flipped out. Coren could not figure what was going on until a day later when he noticed that an earthquake struck nearby at a six point eight on the Richter scale after reviewing the results corn found that fourteen of the animals had hearing impairments and these were the dogs that didn't become anxious before the earthquakes looking further. He noticed that dogs with floppy ears were less likely to be agitated than those with perky open ears so it looks like the strength of their sense of hearing was what a tuned the dogs to the earthquakes low tones. Another theory is that through. Their sense of touch. Animals can feel vibrations through the ground or sense shifts. In air or water pressure hurricanes are known to decrease such
Why the OnePlus 8 is its most expensive flagship yet
"Talking about the one plus one plus eight pro itself. You talked about these base or the the best phones out. There had to talk about the price though at seven hundred dollars. This is twice as much as that original one possible which drove people crazy because it was phenomenal value and interestingly enough the same price as the iphone eleven the one plus a pros even pricier at eight. Ninety you've had a reputation as a company that's put up products with you know. High End specs the best of the specs with aggressive pricing. But talk a little bit about what went into the decision to make these phones. What the Price Tag. Because they're more expensive than previous versions And you know the time when you know folks are trying to get more competitive pricing and I think You know one. Plus consumers do have very fond memories of kind of our early products and they were disrupted from a pricing standpoint. Definitely I think that hasn't actually changed when he's kind of step back and look to it. Our goal always along was to make the best devices best user experience best performance and now in the last year and a half. We've emerged as a leader in terms of introducing new technologies that are better on first market before everybody else. I would say that even though the eight pro is as you mentioned eight ninety nine when you look that device when you look at the fact that it's five G. When you look at the fact that everything that's on his you can't get anywhere else and then you look and you look at what it's competing against. It's still a pretty strong. I think price comparison to the desk phone. That's out there from from from Samsung and so us same day so even though prices in this category have gotten higher. The technologies made huge leaps and bounds. I think consumers are getting ready to make the jump to five G. These are things that they're going to own for the next two to three years as you make that jump and get a chance to experience. Vijay. They're gonNA with us. They're going to be experiencing a hundred twenty hertz. Ninety Hurts Displays for the first time are charging technologies better than everybody else are. Software is better than ever anything else. That's out there so you're getting the best and when you compare it to the best. It's still I think represents disrupted price point compared to everything else. That's out there wireless charging aspect which I believe is only available night. The one plus eight pro because this is. This is a topic that I think I was ham. Repeat on just a year ago. Like why? Is it wireless charging in your phones? It's the flagship phone. This is this has become a flagship. Feature the Warp Chart version of wireless charging though talk a little bit about that and how stands apart from some of the other competitors? Peter you you know you know. I'm going to take credit for that for sure you can. You can't I mean don't get me wrong. I mean this has been a conversation you know. In the times we've had conversations over the last couple of years. It's something that's come up and I think what our philosophy has always been this kind of best performance fast and smooth meeting. We want everything to happen. Seamlessly instantaneously and charging technology is has been quicker than everybody else's and when we talk to users and we get user research that's always been the thing that's most important and Ozzy wireless has been introducing the last year and a half. It's a convenience factor that's important but we did want introduce wireless until it was. We can deliver a speed experienced that we felt was matched that so we didn't WanNa compromise our primary flossy on fast and now have debuted it on the approach to give people a choice in a chance to experience that and the the breakdown of going back to the break down these products as well. Plus a Pro. And one eight the carriers the obviously. Us carriers are only selling the one plus eight. I'm just curious what the decision was behind that.
OnePlus 8 is a worthy rival to the Galaxy S20
"What me Netphone Review Lynn Law. A chance. Check out both the workplace eight and it's hiring variant. The one plus eight pro first off linke to start taking the two devices are the new bells and whistles sure Well summer the one plus eight pro is slightly larger some more high end phone. It's slightly more expensive. And it has four cameras and the one eight is more affordable and it has three cameras. But what's interesting about? Both of them is that they have five G. Just in terms of any other differences that would I'm stepping up to the one plus a pro. What are of the extra features that I would get that? I wouldn't get with the one. Eight pro is more advanced. So it has a one hundred twenty hertz display which means refreshes at a faster rate most phones refresh at sixty frames per second and the one plus eight refreshes at ninety eight pro also has a few more software tweaks when it comes to comforter -bility and the display and of course there's wireless charging which a lot of one plus fans have been waiting for and reversed wireless charging so it charges. Other accessories about is not available in the oneplus. Eight right. Yes that is not available. Oh and another thing. Is that the one plus eight pro all versions of it is water resistant or is rated for Ip water resistance and the one plus eight. It's carrier versions are rated for water resistance but the unlock version of. It is not a kid but I know the question is. How much do these phone cost with? A one eight starts at six ninety nine for one hundred twenty eight gigs and if you WANNA double the memory. That's going to be seven. Ninety nine but horizon is selling it for slightly more expensive one hundred dollars more at seven in the hundred twenty eight Gig. Vision is seven nine two and the eight pro starts at eight ninety nine and then the next capacity is ninety nine so there's a lot of versions a lot of memory capacities a lot of tweaks that we've got to consider but basically eight starts at six ninety. Nine unlocked is what you can kind of take away from that schedule and so I mean bottom line because you spent some time with these phones already your how do they stack up against the competition. Specifically you know Samsung in its galaxy. S Twenty Line. That's really what one plus is going after here rights hardcore users. More savvy users right. Yeah I mean compared to pass models and following one kind of product line. It's definitely more expensive in years past. I mean I think it's kind of crazy to think that the one plus eight is now the same price as an iphone. Eleven a couple years ago. We would never think that a oneplus phone would be the same price as an iphone. But even that it's still more affordable than its high end android competitors. I mean the most expensive version of eight proce is where the galaxy s when he starts and the eight doesn't have a lot of like you said the bells and whistles of both the eight pro and the Galaxy Twenty doesn't have wireless charging as no reverse charging and neither of the one plus phones have expandable memory but I do think it's still a good deal. You'll still get some stuff for the galaxy. Est Twenty I think the cameras slightly better and it can record AK video though. One plus funds record at four K. But that's if you really want to be kind of at the top tier edge of technology and the one plus eight pro still offers that and the one plus eight which is the one I prefer gives a a really high android experience at a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the Galaxy s twenty. Yeah it's interesting. How much time. They also spent a one of the colors. Of the worst say it's the interstellar is at the Elliott the interstellar I had time I got to spend time with that and I gotta say for lack of a better word. It is very cute. I really liked it but it does kind of chops a lot of fingerprints. I found myself like wiping it down a lot
People are freaking out over Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip
"Had its big unpacked event On Tuesday they announced four new phones. Three new as twenties. That's the designation for the Samsung Galaxy. S phones for this year. The S Twenty s twenty plus twenty ultra. Like one hundred twenty megahertz refresh or hurts man. One Hundred Twenty Hertz Refresh Eighteen cameras or something a giant camera bump. I mean it's just crazy but all of this looked like kind of well. That's what I'd expect. The Next Generation Galaxy S. then they announced the Z. Flip or as the rest of the world calls it the Zad flip that to me is the most interesting phone of the year. It really is so let me see it. You got it you best buy did you get you get it. Friday or yes. I was one of those a Thursday night at midnight. Yes I ordered it within like five minutes to like. Yeah they're like you'll get up one day and an extra load up Saturday so I had a good experience very housed them but I was GONNA go pick it up at My problem maybe as I said I'll get it at the Santa Rosa store and you live in New York I think Massachusetts Massachusetts okay I think what they said was San Francisco La New York New York the big city Atlanta a few have like five. Yes they sold out everywhere but that's because they sold one hundred twenty two despite. I told you I'd go into San Francisco. Let me let me. I'm going to go look at my order. A made a bookmark. This is how much I care. I made a bookmark on my my web browser to check my best. Buy Order So what do you think? Yeah so IT'S A. It is the most intriguing piece of technology. You have US tussle It is it's really got me to rethink technology in terms of phones and it's not all perfect right like if you opening and closing it is definitely an extra step and if you're always putting your phone on your pocket there's that trade off and that's real. It does a little bit more delicate or at least treating more delicate than I probably. Would you know somebody yes? Twenty ultra That said the way I have it now with it sort of you know propped open like just as little the Little Barbie Laptop. Yeah desk like this. And and it has the always on display so it just shows my count Ernie notifications and now I'm using it also Microsoft's Your phone because it's built into Samsung's phone so with windows ten just launch to your phone APP. I can now mirrored the phone. I guess you just run the APPS directly get notifications. I can make phone calls and text messages all well to open on my computer. And that's like and it uses WIFI direct basically and it's actually very fast connection so it's really just sort of made me rethink about what a A smartphone can be. I don't think for everybody. It's still too early. You know this question like is it worth it. Come on fourteen hundred dollars. Most people it's not going to be worth it but I it really is transformative. I hate to be cliche. But it really does make you rethink You know what phones devices can

"Use cameron lights track that camera that camera tracks the lights at the hundred twenty hertz and that's one of their tricks and then on other other systems like oculus like h._e._c. Five that they use infrared lights and they use tracking through either cameras or base stations are similar to cameras cameras and track your head that way and then on the flip side. You also have a lot of gyro sensors. Essentially you're stuck inside the headset set to give you the x._y._z. and any other portions of gyro gravity and so forth. That's the the biggest challenge and that's why in the nineties when you had these headsets. They felt horrible. That's why even leading up to all of these modern v._r. Headsets you you can play them for long at all is they. Just didn't match reality. Did you get sick a lot working on this stuff. Sometimes yeah sometimes stuff really felt. I felt okay get. I'm getting carsick so i never want to sit in the backseat but i'm quite happy to save yeah pretty much the last last few generations it gets better and better and better so they ever get sick on anything on the p._s. V._r. kissed one hundred twenty hertz and like the latest headsets oculus gold oculus quest. I know chance i get sick on those are perfect tracking. They're really good. What are the key advancements that have been made that have allowed v._r. Too i mean today v._r. It's not doc quite you know. It's not super popular levels but it's at least at the level where it doesn't make people sick any more people excited to play it. People are a little freaked out in how amazing using it is. What are the key technological advances that have allowed it to get there is it. Is it like hardware yeah a lot of todd so essentially the first oculus oculus rift was taking pieces from mobile phones and it wasn't until then that it was even feasible so the screens being able to be extremely the high density and i guess l._c._d. Screens and and all that screens with fast refresh rates pixels that can be. I stacked on top of each other. She don't have screened or affects. A lot of these are still cutting edge. Nowadays and you don't even see how many phones pixel stacked on top of each other. What do you mean so on on some of the heads including the p._s. v._r. Instead of having the pixel like you have on a standard l._c._d. Screen right beside each other because it's so close to your is they stack them on top of each other so when you're combining colors or when you when you have a single color it is in one big dot and then there are other around that you don't have gaps around it of the non thoughts that makes overruns argh argh pixel pixelated yeah yeah so that's one of the tricks that allows the resolution to be quite low on the p._s. v._r. Yet still being quite <hes> yes. It feels good. It's a lot of stacked pixels alive resolution just stuck in the area right in front of your eyes. "To definitely, but we all go into detail to every night. Ada is associated with very profound states of meditation. A roughly four to seven Hertz alpha is more associated with very focused, relax steaks. And then data is that, you know, walking around state now about thirty hurts. I didn't mention it gamut and gamma in. It's something that gets measured. When people are maybe in extreme sports that runner's high. You hear about Rx also hear about it with incredibly experienced meditators, maybe psychic mediums get measured with gamma. We all can access gamma gamma is harder to deliver to a brain. Because it's above that twenty Hertz. It's actually thirty Hertz up Yama we seem to kind of yet to that on our own when we. Got into a certain state. So the the the tone that we make some of them we deliver just one frequency, and you have something called whole, delta fada whole outlets. You're getting only one frequency regal six for my heart that most of our recordings are actually very complex combinations of these brainwave states. So when we can get someone into that really relaxed delta state, and then feed in maybe a little fada or alpha a kind of keeps their body. Profoundly relax. The maybe starts to wake up their mind to little bit. You have or generate a different type of Syrians, whether it's seeing lights, or, you know, getting imagery or having feelings one of my favorite things to do. While in these states is actually to generate a sense of love and gratitude, and when you go out there, and then imagine yourself just with your awareness. They traveling around outside your body, not necessarily. With an extra body following you just your awareness in a little bubble of love. I love to do this. Because what happens is I then seem to connect with that larger force of unconditional love it so many who've had near death experiences and other kind of experiences off about and those tones actually helped me get there. Like, why it in the brain? Because the brain is just busy talking at the. That's why these are very helpful and the different combinations. Allow us to deliver different levels of experience and our brains are absolutely not in only alpha state ever me seem to be kind of a combination of all of them, although some will be longer than others. Even when we're dreaming. We could have I've seen in my own brainwaves iota alpha beta beta n gamma all at once doing on. So it's not so simple of science as it might sound as great your great job explaining. Yeah. It's so interesting because I think it's funny that so many of us are in our heads all the time yet if we really knew what was going on in the way that you explained it perhaps it wouldn't feel as overwhelming. This is a sponsor that I'm so passionate about because they have helped me make my sleep so enjoyable Buffy comforters. Are the best thing to sleep with to sleep on?.
Apple launches new iPad Air and iPad mini
"And there is one more bit of news related to these new ipads. They both have support for Apple's first generation apple pencil and also the Logitech crayon. So if you want to use a pencil with your new ipad mini. Yup, it is finally supported so I know that's another big addition a lot of people had been hoping for it. Does mean that the generation ipad mini? Is no longer available for sale. And also the new ten and a half inch ipad air seemingly replaces the ten point five inch ipad pro because that has been removed from Apple's website as well is worth noting that the air isn't a exact one to one replacement for the ten point five inch ipad pro because of the air does not have the one hundred twenty Hertz. Refresh rate promotion display that the pro model had nor does it have the quad speaker array, it just has stereo speakers. So slight difference. But it is still I think a really good update. And I I do think it does make sense to kinda separate the ipad airline from the ipad pro line and kind of clean up the bottom end of the ipad pro line as well. So apple kind of killing two birds with one stone in my mind. And I think now they have a nice compliment. Very amazed lineup starting with the ipad at three. Ninety nine moving to the ipad, mini and the new ipad air kind of in the mid range. And then you have your ipad pros on the top end. So I think that rounds out the ipad lineup quite nicely. And I shouldn't get clears up some of the buying confusion as to where to jump into ipad. Right. There's kind of a clear delineation now. And I think it was a little bit muddied before. But seems a little bit cleaner to me. I don't know. Maybe I'm maybe I'm reading too much into it.

"Gigs of ram sixty four games a storage twenty five hundred million battery again, it's Japan only. But if you're wondering what's being launched in Japan, it's this two notches and. Then they. I just I just feel this is the harbinger of of what's to come like that this may be Japan only. But the idea of two notches is not that I fear that that's right around. We also what the new pixel can support with multiple notches all over the vessel all over. So you're just waiting for manufacturer take advantage of that multi support. Yeah. So if you go builds it, they will come what do you? What do you think? Are you? I think it hurts. Well, I mean, I gotta give give him a bit of credit. I hadn't thought of a notch to include a home button. If you really if you really like home button and don't mind the notch. I guess this works. Yeah. I don't know. I think it's kinda sad. But also, I don't have to worry about it because I'm not in Japan at the same time. You know, one of the things that this phone has is pretty interesting is the one hundred and twenty Hertz display, right? So that's actually pretty cool. This this is not as far from the first sharp phone to feature one of these kind of like, the, you know, the racer phone. So that's interesting. I just wish I didn't have to look at two notches. If I want to look at hundred twenty Hertz play. Yeah. Yeah. It's like a one hand the display gives you one hundred twenty Hertz, which is something you don't see a lot of other phones on the other hand the display gets you two notches, which is something. You don't see a lot of other phones for good reason for for good reason. Now, okay, now bearing a little bit of the lead. There. Did you do you have the new razor to phone is that what you held up there? Oh, no. This is just the race. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I think XTA has posted a review of the razor to phone. I think at the last couple of days, and it sounded like you guys like it a lot. But yes, those have one hundred twenty Hertz which is good for gaming, right? Like, that's a that's a good feature for kind of the high action. High response twitch gaming on on the smart part that notches I mean lack of vessels. What I meant to say what I was thinking is if you just went all in on the notch. And you said I'm going to give you a phone with the most notch possible. Then all you'd really be doing is increasing the basil. Right. Just the more you now. Let's see here. Rumors swirled in recent months of a mid range pixel. Am sure we've heard of these than the made by Google event happened and no mid range pixel was revealed on stage. I was disappointed. I wanted it. Were you thinking that it was going to happen? Ron I was really hopeful. I've been saying since the nexus that I wanna mid range. Yeah. Well, until now because Russian tech bloggers the same ones who had the super early pixel three leaks that we that we talked about on the show months ago are showing what appears to be a pixel three. Light addition. It's code-named Sargo at the moment is a five point five six inch display no notch. So if you like your Basil's, you don't like your notch. Then here you go Snapdragon six seventy processor four gigs of ram thirty two gigs of storage a single twelve megapixel refacing camera a single front facing camera not the dual camera like the other pixels of the pixel three. As have I it does have a three point five millimeter headphone, Jack. So if you like your your headphones analog, then there, you go and at twenty nine fifteen million power battery yellow, we'll yeah. Yeah. It looks like they're going with the styling the power button styling the way the other pixels have love it. I'm into it. If these can be believed do we now I I should remind you that when the first batch of leaked Russian phones happened months ago before we knew of the pixel three you took the controversial stance. If I if I remember correctly that they were faked that those devices were faked this is faked or Israel. But it's fun to talk to talk about gossip, especially when it's about phones because you can't hurt their feelings. Yeah. It's true. Can't hey, that's a really good point. That should be a t shirt..

"So that brings us to the next thing they announced, which is the iphone ten s. And the iphone ten s max. Oh, boy, let's say names for the end of this. So the iphone I, I want you to give me your impressions of this and then I will. I will give you mine. So what did you think of the iphone ten and tennis max upgrades over the ten? I think if you're if you didn't get the ten man, this is going to be a great phone to upgrade to. But if you already had the ten, it seems like there's no not a whole lot, and especially for someone who doesn't really care about photos, even less. I think really the max has the bigger screen and that's about it right. It doesn't the max, unlike the plus when it came out, doesn't have a different feature set hardware wise, right? The before it was the optical image stabilization was only on the plus that they didn't do that. The Esa the max are exactly the same other than screen size. So it's kind of a little disappointing that there wasn't. You know, they spent a lot of time talking about the chip and everything ship can do, which felt kind of very anti didn't feel very apple to be talking about that or no, the hardware in that way. And yeah, I don't know what were you landing on this? Yeah, I so I've been retweeting, oughta people, and I've been listening to podcasts and you know, I have to say. It, you know, it seems like everyone's pretty unanimous about this that if you're an iphone ten owner and you do not want a bigger screen. This upgrade is just simply not worth that. It's not even worth the. I mean, the thing is is like it's not even worth for the for the majority of consumers. It's not even worth for the color change due to the fact that you know certain statistics say that a, you know eighty to even higher percentage put a case on their iphone and yes, like I wouldn't be able like for you for you. I know you're getting. I know you're upgrading because you wanted the big screen. You've always wanted the bigger screen. So that makes a lot of sense. But I'm curious Cody if you weren't wanting that biggest bigger screen. I mean, I, I'm, I don't think you would upgrade and I'm still even on the fence even though I have like a point of that much time left. Yeah. I mean, I again, it's for me, it's less important to get things on day one. Also, it's very telling that that the tennis is coming out immediately in the ten are isn't, which just tells me that like, obviously, apple is refined the manufacturing process so much that will actually on the bottom of the website. It says that the SEC hasn't approved the ten aria, there you go. So the thing is is like if you wanna tennis in black or if you wanted to space gray or silver, they will never sell out. I'm gonna make that prediction right now. I really don't think app apple has has optimized the production. Maybe the max will. But if you wanted a ten, ask the normal five point, eight inch tennis in in space, gray or silver. You can get one a week after I phone comes out and with the success plus as well. The plus was like way out and no problem getting the regular and and I think the only other thing you also. I have a problem with his gold in. So the thing is like I think for for those who didn't follow the keynote and want a little more insight on what these upgrades actually are. You're looking at the following things. The screen it so they were very, they were. I was misled until MK BHD tweeden and kind of clarified. It doesn't have the one hundred twenty Hertz screen promotion that the ipad has. It just has a sensor that is one twenty Hertz which makes scrolling a widow more fluid. It also has. Due to obviously has an upgraded processor which is smaller consume less power and has has a bunch of benefits and machine learning and has bunch of benefits with the camera. The actual camera hardwares. The same is the both twelve megapixel shooters similar to the ten..

"They have been slashing prices on the first gen phone. Probably trying to get some of that inventory out. The phone should be relatively powerful, like the first gen phone, it will have eight gigs of ram. So the first razor phone had kings of ram. The SOC or system on a chip is getting an upgrade to the flagship Snapdragon eight forty five from Qualcomm, and it'll go from four cores, two eight, which is actually pretty major. The phone appeared on geek bench with a single score of twenty twenty six and a multi-core score of eighty to thirty four better than the first gen model, but not as high as flagships such as the iphone x. and the Samsung s. nine. There may be more a apparently. There may be more gamer Centric features such as fast display that may help to appeal to a more gamers Centric target audience. This is where my question for you guys lands. I know the gamer section is a whole console and p. c. are able to come together on the one idea that mobile gamers aren't gamers. But I have a legitimate question and I need some help on this avoid let's avoid the saltiness for a moment. I legitimately don't know. Is there any mobile games that will actually benefit from one hundred twenty heard screen. I really don't know. Because the only mobile games that I've ever really even seen are like you is either Pokemon go where you like swirl around and then just throw the thing and then everything else happens can automatically and you definitely don't need one hundred twenty or screen for that or it's like clicker simulators where it's like, oh, you've waited sixteen hours, press that button now and then press that button and then wait sixty hours again or pay some money and have it accelerated. I don't know fortnight, sorta forgotten that. Okay. So it's basically for fortnight in pudgy. I guess that's pretty much it VR. Okay. Yarn, mobile really sucks, but whatever. Okay. It's point. And hundred. Twenty s heard screens. Becoming common for mobile will help push VR forward. Sounds like uncared crush. Oh, my goodness. Okay. So it's probably mostly fortnight pub g. and fears. A really small section, but sure the are. People saying prawn I don't know if anyone's into hundred twenty Hertz on that. They might be. I, I don't know. It does that is a very technologically pushing sector of the market. That is absolutely true that that is the thing they porn pushes the market like crazy, but I don't. I don't. I don't think there's a huge market for one hundred twenty Hertz phones just for that. I could be super wrong. I don't know. I'm just saying speaking of what I was just talking about steam is adding filters to hide certain games..

"In fact, fewer and fewer people are using those for their audio. A lot more people are using computers. I talked about that earlier with the convenience argument. We store a lot of music in digital file formats. These days the quality of audio, you're going to get from a digital file largely depends upon the type of file you're using. There are lots of different file formats, some of which use heavy compression. And file types like MP three, those are law loss formats. So in order to compress file sizes and the whole purpose of that has to make them more manageable right to shrink the file size down. So they're easier to store and to pull up and and send in order to make that happen to compress that information. What the format does is essentially a ditches digital information that makes up part of that sound. Now, in theory, the compression algorithms are limiting frequencies that we would otherwise be unable to here. So in other words, it's just trying to get rid of superfluous information that we would never perceive in the first place. The range of human hearing is limited. Typically, we describe it as being between twenty Hertz and twenty thousand Hertz those frequencies, Mark the edges of human hearing for the for the average person. Anything below twenty Hertz or above twenty thousand Hertz for. For nearly everyone is imperceptible. So one way you can reduce a sound file size is you look for any data that references frequencies that are outside the range of human hearing, and you say, well, I don't need it because there's no way to perceive it, so get rid of it, dump it. If there are two or more instruments that are playing and one is slightly louder than the other or significantly louder than the other. We often can't hear the softer one. If there's a really loud sound, we typically cannot hear the sound immediately following that it's just a quality of human hearing. So again, a compression algorithm might say, well, here's a sound and its amplitude is such that the listeners never going to hear this next sound that is in the file. So we're going to dump that to right again, if you can't perceive it, why would you say that? That's the the logic behind us, but this can actually changed the quality of the sound. We hear the. Even if it isn't in a direct way. So one thing that could happen as you could have a really, you know, low bit rate for this kind of compression, and then you end up creating a pretty law, see file there, your files going to be smaller. But the fidelity is going to be very low to the point where you're going to be able to hear it. Moreover, compression algorithms tend to reduce dynamics. So we call dynamics would be the description of the difference between the softest and the loudest sounds in a recording and compression tends to squish all that in a bit, so that your loudest loud sounds in your softest. Soft sounds are closer together. You have less dynamic range and because more of us, listen to digital music and have sort of moved away from analog sources. Music itself has moved away from creating song. With really great dynamic range. We see musicians focusing on ranges that have less dynamics in them. We're seeing music produce with that smaller dynamic range from the very start. Why would you craft something with great dynamic complexity? If no one's ever going to hear it? Because they're listening to a compressed digital stream over the internet. So it's actually changing the way people make and record music, not just store it and play it back, but then they're also lost Lewis file formats. These are digital files that preserve all the information from a recorded session. Then the quality of your listening session is dependent upon three main factors, the equipment that was used to make the original recording that's going to be important..

"This is almost the belief of Vic Tandy, Vic Tandy is from Coventry university, and he believes that people on actually seeing spirits or ghosts or entities, but the actually experiencing infra sound take listen to what he believes is going on. Most humans can hear between twenty Hertz twenty psychos per second up to about twenty thousand infra sound than starts twenty Hertz and goes down the effects of infra sound that they can activate the fight or flight mechanism which makes you feel cold. It makes the has stand up on the back of your neck. And so the whole system gets worse and worse. And if you do nothing about it that in. Itself will cause visual disturbances. You may see gray objects in your perfect vision, a good point, and it is possible that interest is playing some type of role and people having these experiences. But I don't think it answers all of the cases. I think maybe there are some people that are working themselves up and in fact, as part of this documentary, what he did is he got a very low frequency microphone and went to some of the hot spots around the chew stations to find out if there was a high incidence of infra sound. And the actually found that there was in fact in some of these locations that are hot spots. He found that the infra sound was around ninety decibels. Now he said, if you could actually, he'd that that would be like a disco going on. But if you're a hit with that in infra sound, it can cause feelings of you becoming cold. It can cause feelings of apprehension and fear anxiety and everything else. So maybe it is possible infra sound is causing that, but I don't think that applies to every single case. There's just two others. I wanna play few which I think potentially rule out the possibility of infra sound. This is the case of Bill build. It want to give his last night because obviously he's concerned about ridicule for his experience, but he's a track woke up for the jubilee line, and his job is to walk through the track every single, not to make sure that there's just nothing untoward done there. But one particular evening, he experienced something very unusual tech listen. So all of us. I heard this noise. There's no bullet holes that say or that sate anywhere. So the next thing. She's the boss movie few meters away. I just thought there with my modem. What should the footsteps in the ballast as a Dane with footsteps. You know what I mean? We'll sit in there the hairs sticking out still both arms, and I could feel my net was a tingling, static illiteracy, and just went on past. After that when it club ten meters away just stopped. But the main thing that worried me was I still had to in the direction. Of whatever this was went, which was a little bit if obviously how to do because it was patrolling. I got back to China cross from Finchley. I was talking to the anger mom. When I walked any says, call Bill, you know, for white, I says, I know you're not gonna believe this. I says, don't tell me you'll seen footsteps and the ballast. I, how did you know. This is you're not. The first person is, isn't that crazy? I don't think infra sound is causing footsteps to a p in a ballast and other people have seen this as well. Now, some of the research that was conducted into this particular line found that there was actually five maintenance workers that have been killed on the section of track, and is it possible? It's speculated that maybe these people don't know they did and they continue to do their rounds or is it again, this starring type theory is that the star in all the Rockall, the material surrounding that tunnel has somehow absorbed all these years of track walk is going through that that is replaying on some loop when someone else walks through and disturbs it who really knows. But it's certainly very strange phenomena. But I think the last case really does almost eliminate the possibility of infra sound unless it's causing some type of lucid nation. But this is the story of poll Fisher. And I think this is one of the best cases that suggest that there is some type of spectral activity occurring in the London underground. "Be possible yet but apple's done some tricky stuff with renna displays like using kind of to internal connectors drought display and it was my cousin they could do but it does feel like if a hundred twenty hertz promotion this coming tinny mac that would be the i mac mac pro now the mac pro later because people are developing content for displays that refreshed that quickly now and the mac can't do it and if you wanna create content and really see what is going to be like having the device you create the content on the device the content will play on having the same capabilities of course it'd be really really great and really helpful so this makes sense to me but again it seems like the technology at least on the market now can't make this possible but apple sort of excels at doing like weird mac displaced off and maybe they could maybe they could make it work somehow is is that something stephen that you think that would be useful to you when you're doing your youtube videos no i don't think so because i don't send video really like high the highest framework most people upload is sixty i think that maybe the highest you can go to on youtube actually sixty france per second i film edit and thirty because i don't like the way sixty looks and actually hundred twenty hertz promotion makes me sick to my stomach's at turned off on my ipad so i don't really care about this but i'm thinking more about like people making vr content and games where that higher refresh rate is more important and so maybe maybe there's room there for those type of users i don't know if it means if it's a big deal to to like movie people right i don't know i just don't see the i just don't see the band with they're like no i haven't seen anyone crunch the numbers which is exactly what stephen smith said but i that is just a tremendous amount of data that has to happen very very very quickly and i am super skeptical that today i'm saying forever but today i'm very very doubtful that we have anything that can push that kind of band with it's a lot of data man a lot of data they do it on the ipad because apple is in charge of everything in there right and as display of course when you're dealing with other manufacturers that's harder to do and even could drive the twentyseven shredded displays using custom timing controller and so they can do.

"Fact that companies are are working in providing the solution to eliminating the battle i would prefer that to show me did with the what was the phone that they launched it looked like an iphone like an iphone ten which one is the question i'm all of them i got it but the reason one that it even brought the not talking about the me eight that one that would like for me i was like all right yeah that looks too much like an iphone guys i get that they that they use apple for a lot of their inspiration and i love that they've provided their own unique approach to devices like the mix to us so i'm all for it whatever the company does so long as they continue with that perspective of providing amazing hardware because it is amazing it is a very well designed phone it's a very beautiful phone i will make a video on it i promise and so long as they do that and they i don't know i i it they provided they retain the listen i don't mind if they launch those phones outside of china like they launched the united states obviously there saw in be like all right fine we can't subsidize the hardware through software so we're gonna charge a little more but this there's this beautiful phone you can use and now it has stock android i'm all for it but that would be me yeah definitely suggest that i have is to check out a martin bart's as video tech altered video explaining how shall me works because it's definitely interesting i mean including the fact that the ceo mentioned that oh we're going to limit ourselves to five percent margins on hardware sales from this point forward which is going to be interesting as it expands around the globe that's that's at skull and perhaps maybe it services side will need to take time to catch up at the very least if not lo kind of associated self altogether i mean we are under the the kind of a red scare the us at the moment and new red scare you could say jen to of that so definitely interesting to see as xiaomi kind of wants its own empire to oh as for this moment i definitely want to take the time say thank you to our friend mario here from xt a is there anything that you're happening to be working on right now i'm just directing some articles behind the scenes mainly been trying to do a in the creatively directly creatively directing 's in exactly trying to do something with the racer phone so maybe some in the performance analysis of this i i find that a one hundred and twenty hertz display is so good like it's like the most perceptible performance improvement that have had on injured in a longtime price is the pixel one but or maybe the next five even cassatt phone was so smooth but i you know that i just wanna see more one hundred twenty hurts to splice you know it's funny because i my god so i i have a razor phone i don't have it with me but i didn't really notice much of a difference like it's cool it's cool but yeah you know aside from scrolling every now and anything though like that's the thing that he's just very smooth scrolling performance in terms of speed like okay it's not as responsive as newer phones but just a scrolling performance and it has to do with the adaptive sink that it's going on in the background which is is able to adapt the frame rate so that you don't actually get stutters like yeah you yet lower frame rate some some boat some kind of workloads but but you don't see stutters and to me that's great like one of the reasons why even got started writing for the it was because i was really frustrated with my galaxy note free and all the stutters and i that's how i got starting to this whole thing just by pointing out how terrible so interesting yeah we've interested i i got started in parking mail because i break the fetus back in the day who would have thought shoot i need to i need to go on dust my user in next day developers stuff and yeah definitely yeah there was a time there was a time where i was i was very active in the but i'm trying to it was back in the time of windows mobile and they had.

"Can help power para paralyzed people all those things right and my speaking wrongly here whatever it may be bodies things that you little issue with your body people don't realize that the muscular system has so much to do with the body functioning correctly more than just looking good in their tanktop you guys take it more from the mental perspective from the brain functioning perspective even so he works of body up right and what we're gonna do is we're gonna work brain out and so by optimize the automatic nervous system the party your body that takes in cues from your environment and says do i wanna go fast or do i wanna go slow optimizing that so that if you're sitting at your office and trying to come up with some sort of answer creative solution your body isn't reacting like you're in a life or death situation getting chased by a lion able to activate that concrete of focus and i've seen some videos i've seen kirk cousins i've seen tobias harris i've seen a bunch of nba players how how do you guys work with athletes how are you going to work with mr chris simms i'm looking out for him long an athlete too so that's where i was trying to say the people out there to this is more about just athletes i think this is going to be something just for my little base knowledge i'm gonna learn a lot more here when we get done with the bod cast but for my base knowledge everything he's explained to me this point is gonna help me with the life and live healthier and whatever your job is it's going to make you better at it because your brain will function better i guess how yeah absolutely so if you take just think of that oughta nommik nervous i'm keep using that same phrase and become experts at it by the time it's all said and if it is going way too fast you're going to experience things like executive maybe ocd migraines happen when it's very very fast it's very very slow you get things like depression or adhd were a person's unable to click into focus right so what we can do is whether someone's suffering with one of those issues that's kind of way out there or they just want to be a little bit more creative focus or a little bit less stress like they're already pretty good but they wanna be the best right they engage with our training and so with kirk and tobias what they do is they have units that they run at their home and we have coaches that will log into them via zoom or skype and walk them through their training and their trainings all about brain computer interface it's about getting the electrical firing of the brain connected to a computer in the technology and then laying the technology give the opera and conditioning the positive and negative feedback so that the brain operates with more creativity less stress just like you can learn calculus or spanish we can teach your brain how to focus okay so within that okay so just say somebody does have too much dress what is it that you do to lessen it is i mean what are the exercises explained some of that a little bit of what you do absolutely so it's the part of the brain that is automatic side so it's not necessarily hey blocked the bad harness the good i think happy thoughts what we're doing we're actually engaging with the electrical firing of the brain so stress waves are known as high beta from about twenty hertz which is an oscillation per second and higher so we do is we literally hook your brain up to a dvd player right anytime those waves are getting high instantaneously that dvd pauses as those fluctuate down the dvd place and that works as a yes and no so the.

"Hearing ranges from twenty hertz which is twenty waves passing a given point in one second to twenty kilohertz or twenty thousand waves passing through a point in one second this really tells you more about the wavelength of the wave itself and thus the frequency and then the pitch remember the lower frequencies are the lower pitches the higher frequencies are the higher pitches and that's the frequency range for typical human hearing twenty to twenty thousand hertz now i can tell you from my experience using a frequency sweeper which will slowly go through a selection of frequencies that is all set at the same volume so you get a standard volume across all of them that while i can technically here stuff at twenty hurts it's not until you hit a frequency of about fifty hertz that it quote unquote sounds loud to me even though actual volume of the two tones remains the same so the amplitude is exactly the same but until you get to frequency of about fifty hertz it just doesn't sound loud to me because my ears are not great at picking up those lower super low frequencies also i should mention that while sound waves come in different frequencies sound itself travels at a speed that is dependent upon the medium through which it travels so in other words low frequency sounds and high frequency sounds travel at the same speed through the same medium otherwise you would have all the high pitch sounds hitting your ears before the low pitched ones and conducting an orchestra would drive you crazy the speed of sound is defined as the distance traveled bio sound wave in a certain unit of time but hey jonathan some of you might be saying you were just telling me about frequencies if a high frequency sound has twenty thousand sound waves pass a certain point in the second and a low frequency sound his twenty waves passing that same point in the second are they travelling at different speeds no they're not this is easier to imagine if we take an analogy so let's say you're.

"Sounds if you could actually see the changes in air pressure due to sound you would see that the low frequency sounds have these larger gaps between the high and low pressure points in the waves as they move out from the source of sound so you need a cone diaphragm that can vibrate at a slower frequency and push air effectively at that speed for that reason you would typically go with a heavier larger diaphragm both because the wavelengths of sound are longer if you're looking at the lower frequencies and because making the material heavy gives it greater inertia it takes more force to move the diaphragm and it will move at a pace that will reproduce as low frequency sounds you want this type of speaker falls into the woofer or sub woofer categories these are the speakers that create the base sounds a sub woofer tends to handle frequencies from around twenty hertz to two hundred hertz think of a hurts as how long it takes a wave to pass through a given point in one second or how many waves can pass through a given point in one second all right guys we get some more to chat about with speakers before i jump into that let's take a quick break too our sponsor support for tech stuff comes from our friends at rocket mortgage by quicken loans chances are your confident when it comes to your work your hobbies and your life rocket mortgage gives you that same level of confidence when it comes to buying a home or refinancing your existing home loan with rocket mortgage you can apply simply understand fully so you can mortgage confidently to get started go to rocket mortgage dot com slash tech stuff equal housing lender licensed in all fifty states in m l s consumer access dot org number thirty thirty.

"So you get a sound file much smaller than the more accurate representative version so the loss luis version would be more accurate to the original sound but this new version what we would call a law see version a compressed file would be able to replicate it pretty well if it's designed properly and maybe to a point if you design it well enough that you couldn't tell the difference between the two that took some time it was not easy to do so the new file the new version the compressed one the law format with only have the actual relevant data and from that point forward the challenge was to determined what are the benchmarks to figure out what is relevant versus what is irrelevant because if you lose too much information you change the quality of the recording meaning it's no longer an accurate representation of the original sound so you might say that any sound below twenty hertz is isn't relevant because it's below the range of your typical human humans ability to to hear you might say that anything above twenty thousand hertz or twenty kilohertz is irrelevant because humans typically can't hear sounds above that frequency you might say that sounds at a certain amplitude or lower are irrelevant because they're so quiet that humans wouldn't hear them or you might say that if a certain sound is at a lower amplitude and a different sound is at a higher amplitude the higher institute sound is drowning out the lower amplitude sound and so we humans don't really perceive the lower amplitude sound this is where we get into psycho acoustics it's not just what we hear but how we perceive the sound itself and a lot of that went into formulating the algorithms to figure out how to compress this music in a way where you get a recording that represents the original.

"All of that's really important but now let's let's talk about some concrete examples and the best way to do this is to go with compact discs because we have a standard sample rate for compact discs and that standard sample rate is forty four point one kilohertz to create cd quality audio that means that the audio is sampled forty four thousand one hundred times every second the way they hear you say the range of human hearing you said only goes to twenty hertz to twenty kilohertz if it only goes up to twenty kilohertz why are you sampling at forty four thousand one hundred times every second if it's twenty thousand times a second for the the frequency why go up to forty four thousand one hundred is there some relationship between that and the cds sample rate and the answer is yes so there is a theorem called the nyquist shannon sampling theorem and that states of the sample rate must be twice the maximum frequency of a recording in order to describe the frequency properly so the general thought is the maximum frequency most humans can hear twenty kilohertz and for that reason philips and sony when they were working to create the c d format to make it a standard they decided on forty four point one kilohertz as that standard sample rate for cd audio it was more than double the top frequency generally considered to be in the upper level of human hearing but what happens if you were to lower the sampling rate what if you didn't sample at forty four thousand one hundred what have you sample that let's say sixteen kilohertz so sixteen thousand times a second you sample it well that means you would only be able to record and replicate any sound with a frequency up to eight kilohertz or less so eight thousand hertz or less but if you had any sound that was greater than eight thousand hertz or eight kilohertz anything higher than that it would be folded down to fit.

"Immersive sound field via to top firing height channels in the main sound bar chassis and a top firing speaker in each of two wireless surround speakers with its wireless sub woofer it will deliver frequency response of twenty hertz twenty kilohertz with s p l up to one hundred five db all three models decode dolby soundtracks from blu ray discs and streaming services all three also feature chrome cast built in single hdmi two point oh input hd my two point oh output with audio return channel and dobie up mixer which creates height channels from two channel and surround sources that actually don't have height channels in them so that's pretty cool i wonder how if you have that sound bar mounted under your tv how well those up firing speakers are going to work if they're going to be able to get out or is going to be blocked by the tv i don't know but sounds like a cool idea yeah we'll have to wait and see if we can demo some of these things to get idea if it works but i don't have much confidence in them because i remember the first sound bar that we listen to the did sound good was the amaha sound projector but it was a kind of a beefy type of device and some of these other sound bars i don't even think they try although this one says it's trying to do at most to really do surround i think all they're trying to do is make a wider sound field in the front but i don't know how they're going to do at most because it would have to be aimed up at an angle right because if it went straight up that will give you height but it won't give you at most so the atmos kind of has to be angled back towards you soak it kind of bounce off the ceiling but other than the why p like you said any sound bar that i've ever used in the sound bars that i own they just they don't give you surround sound they just come right from where the tv is it just sounds a whole lot better than the tv speaker is like your tv speaker.
