Are Amazon Rumors Behind Bitcoins Biggest Surge in Months?

"Bitcoin had an absolutely ripping weekend moving from the thirty two thousand. We saw entering the weekend all the way up to thirty nine thousand as i record. It's off just a little from that at around. Thirty eight thousand five hundred or so but still up about twelve percent in the last twenty four hours basically everything. Besides bitcoin is up as well. So the question of today's show is of course what's behind the surge now usually price action. I don't think would be worth an entire show. However in today's context i think it is for a couple reasons. I is that it actually reveals at least says a lot about some of the ways that different forces interact with one another to create price action and crypto markets that i think is a good reminder especially as we get locked into one narrative explanation or another. The second reason is that it's been kind of bleak for a little while so let us enjoy our one day of face ripping volatility the upside discussion. Okay all right so four possible answers. I've seen on crypto twitter about why bitcoin is having its biggest surge in a couple of months. The four possible answers. I've seen are an amazon by rumor. A teenage soothsayer astrology in a short squeeze. So let's go through these amazon by rumor. This is sort of a weird combination of a real thing and a rumor. The real thing happened at the end of last week amazon posted. A job listing on its job site for a digital currency and blockchain product lead quote ua leverage your domain expertise in blockchain distributed ledger central bank digital currencies in crypto currency to develop the case for the capabilities which should be developed dr overall vision and product strategy and gain leadership by an investment for new capabilities. An amazon spokesperson also followed up with coin. Desk saying quote we're inspired by the innovation happening in the crypto currency space. And are exploring what this could look like on amazon. We believe the future will be built on new technologies that enable modern fast and inexpensive payments and hope to bring that future to amazon customers as soon as possible

A Bloody Attack on Lorenzo De' Medici

"Twenty nine year old. Lorenzo domenici had just been attacked in the middle of church bleeding from the neck. He hid behind the bronze doors of the saka stree- of the duomo in florence. He prayed the doors would hold his at bay but he couldn't be sure in fact there was a lot. Lorenzo didn't know that morning. He didn't know why he'd been attacked. During sunday mass or why his assailants were bitter enough to do it during a church service not to mention the question of who was behind the attack or if they were about to go after other members of his family he didn't even know the fate of his twenty four year. Old brother giuliano. Who also been stabbed and the chaos that there was one thing. Lorenzo did no. He was a medici one of the most powerful banking families in europe. He'd been raised as a ruler. A shrewd politician and a prince in all but title despite his wound and the rallying cries of his enemies outside the cathedral calling the chee cruel and corrupt. Lorenzo was certain he'd survive which meant that justice would come and it would be swift in fact. Lorenzo domenici's retribution against the pazzi. "The Maison with Kevin Nation, the 2020 Olympics are finally here and I'm sure you're going to expect me to talk about covid-19 and how they've been delayed for a year, but I don't even care about that. I'm questioning the viability of the Olympics in our current world and I mean, partly political, but I mean, partly the world. We live in today, back in my youth seeing all these athletes from all across the world. People you'd never seen before was interesting was special but now thanks to worldwide television. Thanks to numerous twenty-four-hour. Sports networks, I can pretty much see any athlete any day of the week, no matter where they are on earth. There's always a camera to catch what they're doing. So are the Olympics still viable today? Does it really matter if we choose the greatest athlete in the world, from whatever particular country? It is. Now I spoke the other day about a Nashville athlete, she could make the US team. So she's going to be a part of the Trinidad and Tobago team. My wife's tired of hearing about this, I won't be watching any Olympics just because I don't understand what the big deal is anymore. Am I wrong?

How to Defy Sinful Desire

"By faith moses when he was grown up refused to be called the son of pharaoh's daughter choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of god rather than enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of christ greater wealth than the treasures of egypt for he was looking to the reward. Hebrews eleven twenty four to twenty six or boil it down to the essentials by faith moses left the fleeting pleasures of sin for he was looking to the reward. Faith is not content with fleeting pleasures. It is ravenous for joy. Joy that lasts forever. And the word of god says in your presence there is fullness of joy at your right hand are pleasures forevermore so sixteen eleven so faith will not be sidetrack into the deceitful pleasures of sin. It will not give up so easily in. Its quest for maximum joy. The role of god's word is to feed faiths appetite for god and in doing this it wanes my heart off of the deceptive taste of lust at first lust begins to trick me into feeling that i would really miss out on some great satisfaction. If i follow the path of purity. But then i take up the sword of the spirit and begin to fight.

Alabama SEC Football Predictions for 2021

"Feel like discussions of national championship should be perfect segue when we looked to break down the defending champion from season ago and paint. I don't think it'll surprise anybody. When you look at alabama fan duel sportsbook there less than two to one to win the national title there an overwhelming favorite to come out of the sec west at minus four fifty. And when you look at their win total. It's eleven and a half shaded to the younger. Of course we know that the most electric offense that we've seen in tuscaloosa will not bring back a lot of their key. Playmakers nausea harris and of course devante smith taking their talents to the nfl combining for fifty five touchdowns last year. Mack jones get gone of course as well. But it's rare if you're a team in college football you bring in two former. Nfl head coaches and bill. O'brien and doug marrone to help pass the baton to the next heir-apparent embrace young under center. I don't know how much they're actually going to do. Or how much you actually want him to do. Listen nick listen. Nick and hope that they can keep players on the straight narrow that are collecting seven figure paydays at least on the books under an i l. arrangements compared to Bitcoin trust and everything else. They used to collect in the past the one thing with alabama that they've adhered to under this offensive. Change the last few years is that our offense is not changing. If you're coming into the sabin rehab program you're going to adapt to our offense or guys aren't constantly learning new systems and it seemed work but when i look at alabama's dominant they've been with nick. Sabin the only one back to back championships wants it. Feels like with his system. Continuity plays a large role. And that's something alabama's offense that you alluded to just doesn't have this season now. No one's feeling bad for alabama the way they were crew. But you're replacing. Six players drafted in the first twenty four picks five on offense and totally replacing three starters along the line to starting receivers a tight end and a quarterback and it's not just the players four offensive assistance. Four offense of analysts. They've all moved on. So alabama's offense is gonna regress. That is not a question. It's happening the real question for me. Is how large dip.

Breaking Down the Post MLB All-Star Break Stats

"Let's go ahead and start with a look beyond the box score. Those post all-star break numbers still very very high. As of monday's show was a fifty to average street. Twenty four base. four twenty. Two slugging will now. We've added a couple more days of three more days of data to those numbers. Still the two fifty two average on base down a little bit at three twenty one. But slugging up to four thirty five so at three twenty weighted on base average since the all-star break here across the league and that big uptick in slugging percentage is what i'm really focused on here for. Today's show as we know. The strikeout rate is down the stretch outrageous down quite significantly since that spin rate. Crackdown to hold a with the foreign substances. And all of that so guys are putting a lot more balls in play but now not only guys putting more balls in play but we're also seeing better fortunes at high-velocity contact and also more carry average fly ball. Distance is up here in the second. Half from june third. The time that's the second memo was actually sent out. It was a first memo in spring training back in march then. The memo came out june. Third major league baseball said we're going to take this seriously. Then enforcement started on. June twenty-first but any about from june third in july eleventh average fly ball distance three hundred nineteen here in the second. Half three hundred twenty one feet could be something could be nothing could be factors is obviously very hot in the month of july as we know and also to. You talked about this a lot on monday. Show but it's something that's still very relevant here on thursday is that we've seen a lot of below average starting pitchers since the all-star break guys are hurt. We've had several doubleheaders all of that. But also just what i've talked about on the daily article and then also on the shows here in that you've got a lot pitchers that have pitched on seven eight nine ten eleven days rest shohei. "Four. Michael j. white was slated to play the role of jack's but left. In order to do tyson he would eventually ended up. Portraying jackson mortal kombat rebirth. And mortal kombat legacy. Those were the short films that i think went viral at the start of twitter right. I think so yeah. I think that's what that was robin. Shoo who played luke. King turned down the opportunity to audition for the movie. Originally assuming that he be cast as a stereotypical asian villain but he reconsidered at the advice of his agent the time. So let's get advice. He read seven times for the role by the way seven times. His age is never seen anything like it before they were waiting on junior. Decline it Bridgette wilson performed all her own. Stunts refused to use a double including the fight scenes and she dislocated her shoulder during one scene. But they're able to fix it without any recurrence. Tell also johnny cage bruce. His kidney in the fight scene was scorpion. He originally requests stunt double but robin shoe convinced them to fight would look better if he did it himself so he wore protective padding on his back but kick from casamassima just happened to land in between them and injured his gibney. I was your blood. Also which is a fatality by the way fatality. Also steve james who played. Jack's died a year before or was supposed to play. Jacks died a year before production on the film. At the age of forty. One gregory mckinney. Who replaced james died in nineteen ninety eight. Both actors died at the age of forty one. So jackson cursed so. Is that why they got a different. Jacks for the sequel. Well yeah. I think he. He must've been isolation will come out. Did they start filming annihilation. Because this was a big hit. I think annihilation was like two years later wasn't it. I don't think it was that far. After and then also sharon stone christina applegate and dina. Meyer were originally considered for the role of sonya blade. Mike you might love to hear this. This got some music trivia mortal combat. Because they wanted it to be. Edm the got kicked out of two different record labels they got asking. We had a deal at sony for a lot of money. In those days you get a lot of money per soundtrack. Here's idea electronic dance music and then you know. Here's our idea bucket head. He was a guy who played music with a bucket on his head. We were like well a good guitar player. And they wanted bucket head to dual eddie van halen or something and we said electronic dance music and they kicked us out there. We go to roger records we walk in and say great idea electronic dance music and they say yeah how about janet jackson and he kind of clarified that he loves anna jackson but we were like what for mortal kombat. He got kicked out violently. I had no record deal. The studio was great by backing away. And letting us do that. We made the case contract gave it to this little record company. No one had ever heard of and we came out with the first. Edm platinum soundtrack. The composes name is george. S clinton george glyn out george eskan and incredible story bucket head. I think went onto join guns and roses daddy. Not you would be the one to ask that question too. I believe there was a dude with like a kfc bucket when they were doing chinese democracy. Hang on one second. Yep that's our guy. oh wow. There's excellent bucket head who has a kfc bucket on his head a little late stage. Stink to me. You know mask off to reveal his own mask. Yeah except for the perm perm and maybe a perm slash luke king mullet right there. I mean anymore trivia on your end georgia's clinton really wanted to use traditional orchestral action music but it became clear that the target audience has used to hearing techno music blasting. Gameplay was not happy with that approach. Finally this movie when it came out. They weren't sure how we're doing. It was number one for three consecutive weeks august. That's pretty good. yeah. I think. I saw this movie multiple times in theaters. I i definitely see. I definitely paid once and snuck in once. I know that like i. I definitely pulled one of those off. All right golden dumpster time. This is still fully understand what this section of our podcast is. But it's either the most member essentially most memorable for you can be good. It can be bad but golden dumpster a mean. What is your golden dumpster for this move. This one's easy. When when johnny says those were five hundred dollars sunglasses. Astle and. "A little more. We don't have enough by the way when luke gets ready to fight. Tell me his get hype moves. Do not look exactly like mac from always sunny. Exactly i would say the fights early on a little underwhelming doing occupied down. So he didn't even fat. Luke king rex a black guy in his show his sola shink songs not not not just any black guy. This is the machine from. Up ends wma master. Show which. I don't know if you remember i think it was. I have no idea what. W mac masters which was terribly named was a saturday morning. Show that tried to capitalize. On the whole power rangers phenomenon some elements of professional wrestling base and mortal kombat its popularity in which it would be a scripted show with weekly fights and a championship would be one at the end of the season the show was filmed on universal studios florida lot so there would be like arenas that they would battle but it would just be the wild wild west stunt show in the background and you'd recognize some of it but this dude that has his soul soul and by chang sung after liu king wins played one of the fighters in that show and absolutely pop for it. The machine did luke. Kill this guy. Yeah right because that's the only way. Shane gets his soles. Definite tension in the sole removable though and afterward when he's laying there solis. I wrote. That's how i look. After i get the soul sucked out of me. Next fight sonia keno and remember gino's supposed to embarrass her not kill her and kaneohe does walk out like a bad ass. But i wasn't buying it after. He just got his chest. Hairs saved up like kimball slice. Yeah so akimbo. Got it from hainault. Got it from man's gave promo code jiang. It looks like a bad as in this movie and you could re you could see why are the video game developers decided. That's you know that's that's came from now on which is why could he used a little bit more of him because i just didn't feel like like he. He brings out a knife a tonight and tells her that he j- cut her partner but he cut him from eta in. I was in saint from ear to ear. Is he saying here to here. This is the biggest hint that he's not australian because when he pulls out the knife he doesn't go to north so you realize the second is the australian model fatality. This is a fatality. You sound like wilson kit again after. What a great movie file. We get through the fight with these two we get. She does this handstand leg squeezing around his neck and he says gimme a break and she says okay and snaps his neck without moving worst fight in the movie whereas terrible fight shadow to one of the best supporting actors in. This movie is a piece of spit that flies out of kino's mouth when this is applied main takeaway from this terribly disappointing fighting which you realize. Let's have bridgette wilson. Do our own stunts. Please is the soundtrack to this fight. Not part of the mortal kombat soundtrack but it is a song that was an absolute banger. Nine hundred thousand nine hundred and five's juke joint jr isabel by km fdm. It's the same song just slightly remakes that you might remember from also one thousand nine hundred five summer smash bad boys when they go to the club in miami. It's long okay. I gotta tell you. I'm real happy. That abell came at the end of jisr abell. I wasn't sure where that was going. I misspoke because of a means. Terrible joke before right. Yeah i throw this. On me i did. I had nothing to do with this. All right for some reason. Johnny cage is a never ending forest. Why is part of the tournament on a beach and then we get the never ending force. But that's where scorpion is we see the little thing. Come out of his is come out of his hand. I guess i always thought it was just like a grappling hook in the video game. I didn't know it was a sentient being. This thing's got some lead on it by the way this thing can wrap around trees that things got a good forty yards of of lead on it. You know what it doesn't have i know doesn't bad. Cgi but said we pop for this fight. This is the fight of the film score. Be and johnny cage and we get scorpion dialogue. We don't we do get scorpion over your. Yeah oh it's not just that they tried to those very polite very hot. Very hospitable like that was nice. He says when he says get down here. I said that was in canada. Wasn't that was you have to do that. But we see the shadow kick from johnny cage and the choreography in this fight because mortal combat the movie up until this point where the banger fights where the really good fights. This fight scene absolutely delivers evenly matched. Great set design doesn't feel cheap from the everlasting forest do the portal into murder cave. It's a murder grab. It is the folding odds in that murder came. I didn't understand just like some some cool stone steps or anything like that but we all pop for instruction the popular scorpion fatality. Move of pulling off his face in revealing. he's been a skull this entire time. Although it doesn't go well for scorpion. It doesn't go well. Because there's a random spike shield that johnny cage picks up and uses as a as a fire repellent also at some point. johnny gauge is. Just a gymnast. Is robin dick grayson out there. Just doing some some trapeze and some uneven bars and everything scorpion does sort of have a ghost rider. Field to him Shooting out of his eyes. Yeah i'll tell you where. I was when i was watching this fight. I was popping for these two of the most popular characters at the time. I was strange in that. My favorite character in the video game was johnny cage. So i went into this movie rooting for johnny. Not knowing how this would go. I mean you have a pretty good idea. That lou kings get to be the guy if he played the video game. But you're holding out hope and so far. Johnny cage has delivered. Because there's been a good incarnation of the character. I'm watching this a little pissed off. Because johnny cage has one hell of a draw. So far luke king has the machine. That's not even a character in series. Qena was an absolute fraud if he gets taken out by sony as moves. This was a really difficult. Draw for johnny cage. Just base off merit. He should be clubhouse leader for doing it by golf roles and it gets harder. Get so much harder. Zack who your favor. One to play with. Oh subzero easy. Yeah subzero was my favorite character in the game like the idea of freezing someone and then getting to kick the shit out of well. We've seen subzero in action. And the very next..

"As a movie theater that was standing room only nineteen ninety-five found out keno is apparently australian. Now nobody knew that before. But now i've actually the last time. I watched this movie. I was like. Why is cain australian. This actor's portrayal was so popular. The video games just started making kaneohe australian even though the actor wasn't even doing an australian accent it's like a uk. Yeah it's a weird accent. Australian sounds australian either way. We've made them australia. We met him australian. He's there for shang sung shang exposition. Lets us know that keno killed sonya's partner. He's gotta make sure she's on. That boat is a lot of exposition. Oddly time exposition in this movie. Yeah richard wilson. It's really a testament to how iconic the character was. But she's always veronica. Von to me and veronica. Vaughn looks very unhappy throughout this movie and you know it buyer under by toby. Yeah the two most iconic under bites in history. Kobe combined shank threatens kano that if he touches sonia he'll be needing a seeing eye dog. And the i twitch from keno. He's twitching his ass off here All right sonia got now. This is something. I i did not feel really added up. So nya who has a shotgun shoots at a guy who wildly fires at her in a crowd is behind her. Nobody notices not one person gets hit by the guy who was just shooting newsy or with a machine gun and no one hears the shotgun. How is that possible limit. Say the dude that she shot acting his ass off. Yup oh i've like. I was like wow. He sold the hell out of this and take notes. Jack nicholson departed. It's table for how great the background actors are in this film. They won't really stand out. And i don't think you want your background actors to stick out. But nothing was stopping them. Nothing would stop them at all. They were gonna dance to that music no matter what cut to johnny cage walks up to four guys with weapons and a hangar of some sort and i wrote. Is this guy. The product of if tom cruise and squeak from baseball had a kid by the way more on. Tom cruise later us. Oh okay the note that i have is this johnny cater. John bastow. john. Bastow kicks a bunch of people's as and then we find out. It's a movie scene. Because of course johnny cage in the video game. Was this hollywood celebrity. He's an actor and a director. That's made the dress. Steven spielberg was supposed to be steven. Spielberg man is this trivia until steven spielberg saw the line. That they want him say johnny. You'll leave me not going to be directing traffic. Johnny berry frustrated on the set for some reason walk because these guys are amateurs us guys didn't know when he was supposed to fall down and i forgot. Johnny is an actor because all of a sudden they go cut. I was i was confused. I completely forgot about that. Fact about johnny cage or this part of the movie. His settle down teacher called by the way his sensei tells them to be on a boat tomorrow. And we asked the boyd shanghai sung disguised so this is the note. I wrote an admittedly those a little drunk. When i wrote it whenever we go master. Boy looks like kenny. Loggins and mr peanut butter. I wrote down. It looks like silver-haired meatloaf to like that. Now we get luke king returning to where his brother died. Be on a boat to hong kong. Yeah peer forty. Because there's no other peer forties in around los angeles. It's just bolt.
