"We'll start out with the depressing news. I there's a software bug. That's keeping hundreds of inmates in arizona prisons beyond release. That is a direct quote from an article that i'm reading on k. J. z. z. Dot org by jimmy jenkins looks like there's hundreds of incarcerated people who should be eligible for release that are being held in prison because the inmate management software cannot interpret current sentencing laws. What it's sounding like is the software. They're running directly instead of that. Prison is impacting. Each prisoners loves not only their prisoners their families as well and this single bug. I do wanna mention. I'll get a little bit more information here in a minute for you guys. But they're aware of this bug they just haven't resolved it. It's been over a year. Since this bug was originally reported the arizona department of corrections has confirmed. There is a problem with the software they have spent more than twenty four million dollars to build and maintain the software program. Absolutely insane amount of money. I cannot imagine spending twenty four million dollars on a piece of software and it not work in the way that i would expect it to work. This program is used to manage inmate population in their state prisons. They knew from day one. This wasn't going to work when they approved the bill. They looked at it and they said oh no instead of fixing the bugs department sources say employees are attempting to identify qualifying inmates manually. But that's really not going quite well for them at the moment as it stands. They're only estimating about seven hundred and thirty three inmates that are potentially eligible. But there's far more than that in the system is what the sources are telling us here so the end result is there's only seven hundred and thirty three inmates that they've identified manually but the system really should be keeping track of all of this not only that but the software is actually preventing the prisoners from getting the time. They deserve taken off of their sentences. There literally trapped there in the prison unfortunately the impact of software in our modern day. Lives is absolutely incredible when we talk about controlling other people locking them up putting behind bars and making sure that they serve their time for whatever punishment they did. I recognize that as noble effort and mandatory in many many many many situations. I also believe our population in prisons as far too large than what. It should be here in america while we all know that's true. Were just gonna leave it at that for now. Moving into it. The entire software package they have had has experienced more than fourteen thousand bugs since it was implemented in november of two thousand nineteen. We're talking less than five months ago. They implemented this one source recalled. It was thanksgiving weekend. We were killing ourselves working on it but every person associated with the software rollout begged the deputy director. Perform not to go live. They knew this wasn't going to work. They knew it was going to happen. We were told were too deep into it. Too much money had been spent. We can't go back now. The soffer also makes it difficult for employees to correct errors. If they have been identified. We had a couple of modules. They spent millions of dollars on. We can't use it all a department. Spokesperson testified the requirements for the project. Were poorly scoped from the beginning resulting in a contract that went millions of dollars over budgets fixing this bug related to the law would take roughly two thousand additional programming hours. I would be calling in a second opinion on that matter. I think the two thousand dollars for programming. Something is either. That's a far larger more complex system. They're trying to develop we're looking at scope creep which has already been something that either. We have covered or will cover on our podcasts. Then we also have additional other factors into their so the kind of overall arching notes that i've seen here from their review looks like the contractor. They have hired is billing the department of correction at roughly one thousand one hundred and thirty seven dollars an hour based on what i'm seeing here. That's absolutely incredible. We're talking an additional two point. Two seven million dollars simply because the law was written into existence. I don't understand how that was not something. That was already foreseen in their software development environment. I would have thought that somebody would have stopped. And said hey. Why don't they sign in laws. Once in a while we do take any of those into a counter. What are we gonna do there. I wonder if the corporate ceos at the top just went at. Don't worry about it. We'll bill them at the end when we need to microsoft will soon began throttling exchange mailboxes. Their email counter service which is called exchange typically utilized by has always had an upper limit. i believe that limit was around thirty six hundred messages per hour. It really didn't do anything beyond that but it was just a soft limit that was not enforced however starting in april. That situation is going to be changing. They're going to begin with a just some non delivery reports across the board when you receive more than that in terms of messages per hour. They are going to start with a higher amount than thirty six hundred until it reaches the official limit of thirty six hundred. They'll be dropping down incrementally they did not say what the increments will be. But that certainly is something that you'll want to keep an eye out for that includes all microsoft three sixty five subscriptions and their enterprise editions as well pretty much. Everybody is going to be covered by this. Make sure you're not receiving more than thirty six hundred messages per hour. I would imagine that also includes a catch all email so double. Check that as well. That's it for your tuesday morning. Recap with innovative tech. We hope you have a wonderful day. We hope you also send any questions concerns or comments. "That's not even louis less. I guess it took at least six months so it just shows you. What a hot market. San diego has become for for every level of the market. I think that's what's most interesting is that you have the lower end of the market. That's gained obviously. We have a lot of people that are trying to get into i homes or trying to get into condos and then you have kind of people are trying to move up still and not speaking more and more difficult because the moving up processes harder because what is the second home like what is your next move up point like how do you make that jump from your first home for your second home and then you have you know the part of the market. Maybe i was just talking about like the college like the lower end of the higher end market. And then you have things like this. That are just absolutely extraordinarily high and attract such a different buyer in every part of the market is just being is just getting just know. I can't imagine if you're spending twenty four million dollars on a house. You really concerned all that much about interest rates but right. They're not they're not. It just shows you what type of real estate market where. Yeah i mean in one of the things that was pointed out in this article is you know so. It took six months to sell this. It used to be so the average selling time has been compressed now to hundred and forty six days for homes over four million where it used to be seven hundred and three days a year ago thing has really had an impact. I mean it's clear to me that covid nineteen is definitely creating an impact for the wealthy. The wealthy are getting out of cities that they're not happy. They're looking for value. They're buying in places where i think the person's vying this obviously they're looking for kind of slice of happiness and they want to live on the beach and they can afford to do it and good for them you know and i can see why a these if you're in a very high density city like san francisco or la even coastal la high density. You santa monica and places like that. You're trying to get out of those more crowded areas into this. I mean this is a great spot..

what's going on I believe them I do I believe them but come on how could these things only happen with the patriots all of the Afghan it's all about getting eight five five two one two four two two seven that's our toll free line Jerry Jones he's a hoot actually the goal weight will wait to do that a couple of minutes here let me get to the tray young both of these are funny actually this will destroy young not to run is now before the game is over so you know every time I tweet something during a football game or a basketball game whether it's positive or negative the response inevitably comes back from at least one yeah you it's over I always resist the urge to reply with doc I'm watching it I can see it's not over and I do not make predictions so I don't because I don't care who wins or loses I just react to what happens so the idea that a young would get burned on a night when he's taunting his opponent so the hawks are taking on the heat and the game is not quite over with fifty nine seconds left Miami is down others in South Beach is in Miami my name is down six points with fifty nine seconds left and there's a stoppage of play in time out and tray Yang is yelling to Jimmy Butler as a walking off the court it it would be well here's what happened he scored the next bucket at the next budget and the next bucket until they had scored twenty two consecutive points along the way forcing overtime and it was no contest when the dust settled silver tray young yeah a valuable lesson don't talk Jimmy Butler is seriously and Butler actually did have the last laugh on social media because if you want to find it and put it up on her show account that would be funny pretty amazing to see what the he have done at home now this was a bit miraculous I don't know they could replicate it or not what they're down six with a minute to go which is only a couple three pointers they scored twenty two points in a row and they end up winning by fourteen in fact they outscored lambda eighteen don't it over time everybody's just so confident everybody believes in one another everybody knows what everybody's capable than we throw our best abilities tell you guys to to restaurants on it definitely helps when does make his eyes don't get me wrong but I think all in all we know how good of a team we are we just have to do it every second of every game so tray young calls bag too early for us yeah well it makes me laugh I hope that there's some audio of and I hope there was a a microphone that picked it up somewhere because that would be fantastic you know if it's on the internet it never truly goes away the internet provided us with the gift before the show Segway I had heard through the grapevine that there was some salty Jerry Jones kind of floating around in space he does a weekly interview with our Dallas affiliate one oh five three the fan and because Dallas played on Thursday night last week end and got shellac by the bears may die Mitch Tribbett ski look as though he was headed for the all pro team the all pro squad are you could imagine that Jerry was not in a great mood maybe like me can't sleep on planes I think if we become played the back if I had one superpower it would be the ability to sleep sitting upright because I I can't do it I was once on an airplane for twenty hours twenty hours flying back from Africa and I did not sleep even five minutes it was torture do you know when you're tired you can't sleep it's it's a form of torture anyway I digress so maybe Jerry Jones can't sleep on planes he was exhausted coming back from Chicago he's frustrated he obviously can't virus coach in the middle of the season because they're still in the running despite losing three in a row they're still in the running for a division title and a playoff game at home and do instead when he makes his morning appearance on Dallas radio Friday he's not in a great mood are you embarrassed as an organization about how the team is angling her damn act together ASAP okay now I'm bamboo and we're gonna have a good vision just want him to settle down just a little bit I think I mean I as always the injury a lot of people were not going with your question but I'm going to give you the answers I want to give you this morning and collect your add do come in been traveling all night and I'm not I don't have the patience to Jack with you today please someone give me a reason to use that I don't have the patience to Jack with yeah today that's fantastic no I don't have the patience to Jack with you does we have since found out that this is not the regular show that Jerry Jones appears on to be doesn't know these holes that mostly though I think because you're the professional he's done I don't know what would you say five thousand radio interviews over the last five years I I mean I feel like he's really he's done better than ten thousand radio interviews in his career if not more than that but whatever folly much higher than that I'm just being conservative here he's a professional he's a professional talker this is what he does and so whether or not it's new hose that he doesn't know that shouldn't matter I normally probably wouldn't matter how much you wanna bet if the cowboys have won three in a row is that of losing three in a row it doesn't matter a bit the little bit of displaced aggression but it's just it's it's funny and it makes the big one of our me now I have this really bad habit of laughing in awkward situations I laughed when I am afraid I mean afraid I don't need it you know and say look I laugh when I'm nervous I laugh when I'm fearful I laughed when things are all chords which makes things even more awkward no it's it's my it's my weird reaction to things I Laffan inappropriate times old always be honest and so if that happens on this radio show I probably do stutter a bit and turn red and then laughed like a weirdo yeah I don't have the patience to Jack with yet this morning okay but I like I we inserted there like a true Texas gentleman we're gonna have a realizes that this morning we have a lot of things to go over is that made you giggle I think maybe not like me you don't laugh at inappropriate times but we made you smile on this Wednesday morning to get you through your hump day you can buy the on Twitter able radio also don't go into your office R. news on ninety two three FM get some perspective Bruce Saint James and Pamela Hughes you know what you guys they are giving me a perspective that I didn't have at the beginning of the program and and by you I mean veterans out there it is veterans day we've got the veterans day parade that is making its way down central and camel back in seventh street right now I offer that to you as a heads up if you're heading out for lunch but Jeff what is helping me hold it down here today with Bruce feeling a little under the weather and and we came across the survey that showed fifty percent roughly of active and former military are uncomfortable with the phrase thank you for your service and we just went through a bunch of calls we appreciated on our open Mike line from veterans out there who have said yeah makes me uncomfortable I don't like it some of said I wanna be thanked for the service because he was in Vietnam and he was real proud of what he did there thought I think is a little bit of an isolated incident and then you have others who have just said it was just feels like you're checking a box somewhere that it's is plotted to that means absolutely nothing and Jeff during the break I looked at you and I said you don't put that comment reminded me off and it helps put it into perspective for me because I was doing something nice right when I said you know thank you for your service I was acknowledging the sacrifice that you and your family have made right but if it's just kind of throwaway statement I use that I that argument when it comes to folks saying thoughts and prayers yeah and when like some you know horrific shooting takes place somewhere and people post on Facebook will thoughts and prayers thoughts and prayers what does that mean makes you feel better but doesn't mean you're actually doing anything no that's kind of what I got from these vets yeah and I I can understand that because that's something that's a knee jerk thing that that a lot of us do on social media when someone we know or relation to someone we know passes I can only speak for myself and say when I go up to an active military and again I don't I haven't done it is much with veterans and say thank you for your service I I'm sincere about it I mean I'm not going to go up to a fine not if I don't mean it or I'm just feeling a sense of obligation I mean there's a lot of times that I don't have time when I'm running through airports or what have you but I also get back to it's not you know about me and making me feel younger it right out it's G. not about a person receiving the phrase and I do it from a place of wanting to make them feel better but if it doesn't well then what can I do I asked that question going into the break and you know you guys deliver as you always do our listeners on our open Mike line and I want to play you some of the calls we just received here in just a few moments from the veterans out there that are uncomfortable to phrase thank you for your service but if you someone with knowledge the sacrifice that they made for this country what can you do hi this is Barry from Scottsdale even though I got back from Vietnam almost fifty years ago I would rather have a simple welcome home to which I can quite easily to say thank you I yes I am I mean in relation to that if he's been home over fifty years I think we're a little past that point in that that's been a that's been an issue Pamela is you know that the the group of military that served in Vietnam there's a lot of unresolved issues there my uncle Sir thirty three years in the military any thing thank you to our veterans and that's where they have served and then thank them for doing something that maybe you weren't able to do at that time you know I ages it just serves as as a reminder of when sometimes you think you're doing something good the way people interpret it now will I stop saying it no I don't think I will hold either because a I do respect that but I do appreciate the welcome home or wherever you served if I have the time to do that I most definitely well but sure I appreciate the perspective that like I said I didn't have at the beginning of the show and I really appreciate the phone calls we received from our military service members active or you know retired or even the veterans on this veterans day on that open Mike line brought to by Carol Royse the leader in Arizona's real estate will get your home sold guarantee or to buy it for cash go to Carol has the buyers dot com Hey you know what every day I try to end the nine year old Parker apparently lives by the motto pay it forward which in and of itself I think is pretty remarkable for a nine year old and Parker was celebrating a birthday and unlike most kids who Is Zion Williamson enough to completely change the Anthony Davis trade?
"To the draft lottery. Now New Orleans which six percent shot to get the number one pick got it almost certainly drafts. I n Williamson. The pelicans would love a line of which includes both on an AD. Anthony Davis put according to reports drafting Zion will not change Davis's trade demands. He still wants out Persad with eighty making a steak force in a trade with a chance to play alongside Zairean hasn't changed as as look when you're a superstar AD stature, you don't change based on a rookie draft pick that we don't know what he's going to be as much as we like him. This is about a big market. Let's face like, okay. What this is about. This is the team they lost regime Rondo outside of that day. Essentially had the same theme that swept the current Western Conference finals, Portland. Trailblazers bogey was on the was out though, it he was that was golfer to play. Off. So they swept them so and the organization wasn't that will run before. Now, you gotta solid GM and David Griffin. Okay. This is about a big market. So if AD can get to the Lakers with LeBron or still the Knicks to play with Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving, that's a good look fine. That wouldn't be a mistake outside of those two though, I do think a decent reconsider. This isn't a bad situation. You guys Zion. You got drew holiday. You got some other piece around him, and if Julius Randle ops out, which he probably will only go make my million had a very good year, and you wave and stretch Solomon hill, you could have twenty four million dollars to play with that helps you do a trait or get another player. Mike Conley is going to be on the market yet. Because John, right. So if you can get a Mike Conley to play withdrew holiday AD and
Braves, Atlanta And Kuna discussed on The MLB Show
"The kunia, obviously, wonderful young Braves player. He's just won the rookie of the year award. He's going to be a cornerstone of the Braves franchise for years to come in today. It came out that he's going to be a cornerstone for even longer than that because he signed well, I guess a seven year extension. It's being reported as eight years, even though the first is the twenty nine thousand nine season with two club options on the end. And even if both of those club options are exercised this will amount to just one hundred twenty. Four million dollars for almost the next decade of a kunia, which seems like the biggest swindle steal, whatever. Synonym? You wanna use to show that basically kunia is going to be incredibly underpaid for the next decade Ivan seat like you, usually don't see people get absolutely destroyed in Atlanta like this and less the federal grand armies involved. I was I went into this with an open mind because so far from free agencies. I mean, he's frankly, so far from arbitration that you wouldn't you can't like look at the I mean, it's essentially seven year one hundred million dollar deal. You can't look at that. And think, wow, you know, he's only making what is at thirteen million dollars a year fourteen million. And and judge that against free agent salaries. But then you look at the like the two extension deal or to extension years or or seventeen million dollars each like what like if he's going to be worth going to be worth exercising? Those options. In his thirties. Like one old be the going rate for a superstar by that point. I can't I dunno. It's it just seems. I you call it a swindle. I think that's that's not a bad way to describe it. I mean, the Braves just completely put one over on him and Kuna, I think it's important to note is in this position because he was not a super highly touted prospect when he signed at Venezuela with Atlanta as a youngster he wasn't one of those guys who made, you know, five million dollars on the free agent market. I think it was watch us one hundred thousand hundred thousand he made and he was held down by Atlanta for the first month last year. So he's going to hit free agency a year later than he otherwise would have he's making the league minimum this year next year. So he's not really going to have the chance at getting paid for a few years anyway. So you can sort of understand why he would want to lock up the security because if he suffers a career threatening injury tomorrow, then he's. Not going to have the sort of financial security to fall back on that players who came from more means will have.
S. Korea, US sign deal on Seoul paying more for US military
"The hour new this morning, South Korea. And the US have signed a deal that would increase souls financial contribution for the deployment of US troops in the Asian country after rounds of failed negotiations chief delegates agreed on Seoul, paying about nine hundred twenty four million dollars in two thousand nineteen for the US military presence that's up from about eight hundred thirty million the previous year, President Trump earlier pressured sold to increase its share triggering worries and South Korea. You can now buy Elon Musk’s ‘Not A Flamethrower’ with Bitcoin
"Tesla's CEO Elon Musk saying he is going to buy twenty million dollars worth of Tesla's stock, but even with eons, vote of confidence in the electric vehicle company that stocks traded down about two percent today or Filipo joins us. Now with all the details, Phil. Melissa, this announcement of Elon Musk, buying twenty million dollars worth of newly issued. Tesla's stock came out in an SEC filing this morning. That filing was all about the finalisation of the settlement between the SEC and tesla over the investigation into the go private tweet. This is the latest purchase of Tesla's shares by Elon Musk. In this case, these are going to be newly issued shares. The next time there is an open period for purchasing stock. That's when the purchase will take place that comes just a few months after Elon Musk said that he would be buying twenty four million dollars in stock that was in June in March. He committed to buying almost ten million dollars worth of tesla shares on the open market. And then in March of last year, he said that he would buy twenty five million dollars worth of tesla shares. Elon Musk has been a regular purchaser of Tesla's stock on the open market separate from when he's been awarded, stock options, anger and one of the complaints. From those who have shorted. The stock is that Elon Musk has borrowed against his holdings when he has been recommitting to the company and purchasing more stock unclear where this money is coming from in this case with the twenty million dollars. But if you take a look at shares of tesla, we should note out that we went and looked at periods where Elon Musk has said, I will be buying x. amount of shares. And there have been some moments where the stock is popped and moved a little bit higher that day and then settled down and other times when there's been no reaction. So it's hard to know whether or not people can look at this and say, this will be a trigger for people to say, we'll buy more shares of tesla, Melissa back to you. All right, Bill. Thanks Phil in Chicago. So what could this mean for Tesla's stock? Now, let's recall when some other CEOs bought stock. Remember when Jamie diamond bought five hundred thousand shares of Johnson, and we're on shares February twentieth sixteen that stock rally more than ninety five percents since family known as timid, mention the diamond bottom and don't forget about Wednesday, win that big on his casino stock in December. Two thousand fifteen. This is something that Pete likes referred to a lot then rallying more than fifty four percent six months later. So there'd be upside for tesla here does a signal anything? Are we reading into this this? I mean, I think the main point is that yes, he is bought on almost every equity offerings, even I think when they've done convert offerings, but think about it when the companies issuing new shares dilutive. So he's buying it. He just kind of trying to manage some of his dilution. But ultimately, I think the most important story that we keep hearing rumors about is that this company is going to need to raise capital soon, and that's really the issue how they do it in a what term. So to me, he can buy whatever he wants the stock's not going up until we have, you know, a fixed to two billion dollar capital whole well, they built a, they bought a plot of land and Shanghai to build a new factory there. They will have to raise money probably on Asian markets right for about probably a two billion dollar facility. They're right there only in Asia, not even thinking about the cash needs here in the United States. You can ask a question. What gives a muskrat as must be current courage, courage, and that's in my opinion what you need at this point to get long this. Why do anything head of burnings which is going to be in about a week and a half two weeks from now. I think it's got to recapture the two eighty level which it hasn't done. It didn't gave it right back. So I think you're playing stock market here. Pete, we'll tell you correctly. If you wanna
