In the la angels and first off the uniforms they were pretty sweet right so the angels. They wore uniform that said west basically being from the region that they would be located in if they were to take place in the little league world series. And then you head. Cleveland which had great lakes across the chest. I thought that was pretty cool. So they didn't wear their actual game. Uniforms didn't wear their actual team. Cities names whatever it was. They were the regents. Like they were part of the little league world series which i thought was a nice touch and very fitting there in williamsport pennsylvania so the pitching matchup jose suarez went for the a the angels cow could trill went for the indians in. The indians pulled out the victory by a score of three to nothing so the angels unfortunately did not get on the board. They kept otani in the yard but speaking of otani how cool would it have been to be a little league ball player there in williamsport. Pa there were reports pictures. Were mike. trout's otani were interacting with all the different teams there and in the little league world series you also have the united states brackets and then the international bracket so. I'm sure kids from all over the world we're excited to meet otani and droughts and get autograph signed and be introduced to the legends across the board one guy trout. Sure fire hall of famer and otani the most electric guy in baseball today. That's just got to be an absolutely awesome feeling for those kids to be able to meet those guys so this was the fourth literally classic that took place. There's been one every year since two thousand seventeen of course with the exception of twenty twenty due to the global pandemic that took place bowman fields is where it took place in williamsport holds just over twenty five hundred fans so very exclusive event. Where all the different kids from all the different teams. Get to go. And then just a handful of actual fans or general public get to attend the event which certainly makes it that much cooler for your team to make it to the little league world series so the first one in twenty seventeen the pirates beat the cardinals in two thousand eighteen. The mets tap the phillies in twenty nineteen. We had the cubs over the pirates. And then last year's classic was supposed to be red sox orioles that did not take place so this year they obviously had the angels and indians filling in there but like i said zero runs scored for otani so the indians able to basically hang on for three to nothing win which has to feel good. If you're an indians fan out there so speaking of the little league world series just briefly and update where we had here in the. Us team out of hawaii has gone to and owen their first two games so there are advancing through the winners bracket on one side. And on the other side you have california who has won their first. Two games so michigan texas will play to see who faces hawaii in the winters brackets and on the other side. You have oregon and south dakota facing off to see who will face california other teams. That are still alive. You have new jersey. you also have washington in nebraska hanging alive in the losers brackets. Louisiana and ohio. Going to face off against each other. New hampshire is waiting to see who they will play in the losers bracket so unfortunately at this point connecticut. Florida tennessee in pennsylvania. Have all been eliminated. But i'll keep you guys posted on what's going on there across the board at the little league world series. We won't get into as much detail like we did in the college game but always fun to pay attention there for the kids to see how they're doing and how things are coming along. So who's going to play in the twenty twenty two little league classic. It has been reported that it will be the red sox in the orioles facing off in twenty twenty two so the red sox in the orioles the orioles like i said we're supposed to take part in twenty twenty but also getting boston involve will be pretty cool for the kids and for the national media to pay attention to this game here so that'll be a fun next year with al. It's the leafs year to blow a three one series. Lead is at the year the leave suck ass again. Yes yes it is all those things. You don't feel sorry for them at all. Steve a little bit. no nothing. maybe. I've got a couple of reasonable leaf fans. I feel kind of badly for them but No no it says because because of what the media does and what lee fans due in their here in ottawa. I have a hard time feeling any sympathy whatsoever. Okay i thought this whole thing's supposed to be sort of a deal. I guess right you live in edmonton. You know you've got. The little leafs. Halves rivalry gone might might be grounds for an old man. And you know you don't travel very often the states but i have and You know the leafs fans irs like there's a million more than that more than a million canadians who live in la. You know right right. Who's who are who are hockey fans but anyway it's it's it's a great rivalry now. It's divided the nation really. I mean what's funny though is that they've really not met very often. This is only the third time since nineteen sixty seven. I guess They've actually met. They met a couple of times in the late seventies. And then this year and it's kind of weird when you think about it because like for most of the nhl is history started in nineteen seventeen. And they're only four teams so for the most part through the entire first fifty years of the nhl history. There were only four to six teams. It was a very small league reizo. The lifson has represented a third of the league and yet they only have met in a hundred and four years sixteen times. Oh it back in that day. Oh yeah sixteen. Times total in the history of the nhl. So it's kinda weird they they haven't gotten together more frequently than they have. And so i think that's a little something something to it. Not only is it a great first round upset for the montreal canadians but it's against a a very good team and for older fans in particular who used to watch one of those teams every single saturday night when that was all you really had to watch. It had kind of a special feel to this year. Well i'll tell you what else is unique. Which makes it unique for. Sure i've had the i had last night. I was watching television and a local newscast. Now the oilers are out. Of course. So i don't know if they're glomming onto try and create stories but i think they would have done this anyways even if the orders were in there they had a whole they had. They had a fifteen minute piece on lifson halves fans in edmond. Ok like the on the street. You know showing people's houses. How their decorating is this is. This is kind of crazy. The old leaf the leaf sent thing so yeah like like a full on full on ten minutes stevie on the news last night i loved the least in the house with a history of it and all this stuff so there you have it. How do they loose tv. Leave people so they let fans into the game which was weird. We knew that In game six montreal had twenty five hundred fans in quebec seems to be a little more relaxed. I guess when it comes to shutdown stuff but out of the blue earlier today because we're recording this on the game day itself and They actually had a deal where they let five hundred fifty fans into the game and it was was they let all the All the frontline workers although the nurses and doctors and all the usual suspects who helped us through cova here and the gag online was got having those poor people had enough. All sure senegalese game. Now dare you anyway. It was a it was a kind of neat to see everybody there and and it just makes the game to have fans in the stands couple of notes on the game itself. I honestly thought that you got crap that really set the leaves back. I that gallagher goal jack. Campbell is pretty good for the leafs through this whole series but there was a couple of glitchy moments and that was exactly the wrong time. I mean the lease of already got the whole world of pressure on their shoulders given their history given the constantly being talked to about the this rivalry in the and this this long drought. They're on and they're in game seven. They've blown the last two games right and all the pressure was already on them. The last thing they needed was to be chasing the game and giving up the first goal and really starting to doubt themselves and that was a garbage goal. By brennan gallagher. "As wp leafs. Ads headed for game seven on monday night. And this series took a while to get going jimmy but with the last. Two games have been extremely entertaining. Now i might be coming from an anti leaf fan because basically in both games kind of the both fall the same sort of script montreal goes to an early three. Nothing lead in game five fritter it away and then montreal wins in overtime anyway. Same kind of deal and game six montreal two to nothing. Lead leafs comeback furiously tie and montreal wins in overtime again. And it's to me. It's become a very compelling series and all of a sudden the leafs who seemed to be in full control of three one series. Now i gotta think the pressure all the pressure in the world is now on t. Oh no kidding man. No kidding this would arguably be the biggest upset in the playoffs. Hands down hands down. No one gave much show. Montreal fans didn't give my jarallah shot in this thing. I don't mind losing our bet. Because i've winnipeg in the other series. They're already through beating your oilers out and i. I took toronto in this. I was really that convinced. Oh that's right on paper. It's no contest but that's the nature of hockey. It really doesn't matter what the paper looks. Like any can happen in a short series. The stats here super. Look at the goalies right. Now jack campbell. He's a nine thirty seven.
