Why Skateboarding Is an Olympic Sport, but Cricket Isn't

"Skateboarding is one of six new ish. Sports added to the olympic lineup this year. Which has a lot of people wondering what does it take to be added and is some get taken away and sometimes return emily vanderbilt dug into these queries over at vox. She knows that these six new sports mark the biggest edition since nineteen twenty but also that so many events have been removed. The overall number of events has gone down from three hundred thirty nine to three hundred twenty nine. The six new sports consist of four actually new ones skateboarding surfing karate and sportclimbing as well as baseball and softball which were last featured as olympic sports. In two thousand eight and baseball and softball won't be returning in twenty twenty four in paris nor will karate although skateboarding surfing and sport climbing will all be there. And we'll be joined by break-dancing baseball and softball will be back at the twenty twenty eight games in los angeles however what's with all. The shuffling around prevent were a lot of it has to do with the international olympic. Committee's agenda twenty twenty which was adopted in twenty fourteen and part of its aim is to quote give individual host cities more control over which events are metal sports and quote so it makes sense that baseball fanatics japan would bring it back as would the us. And i can see how france wouldn't care as much break-dancing meanwhile makes sense for a continent super into street dancing and as vanderhoek notes while there's a lot of actual criteria for inclusion as a sport and you do need to have global appeal. It often helps if you a appeal. Particularly to the host nation in be are popular with the youths. According to her in. Vox the ioc has increasingly used the youth olympics. A perpetually beleaguered event for athletes between fourteen and eighteen years old as a way to try out events that might merit olympic inclusion break-dancing for instance will make its olympics debut in twenty twenty four after a successful trial run at the two thousand eighteen youth olympics in buenos aires.

How Decentralized Is DeFi?

"What's going on guys. It is wednesday july twenty eighth and today we are asking. How decentralized is decentralized finance. And why does that matter. So yesterday i did a show on three separate hearings on the hill that related in some way to digital currency that show also covered a letter sent by senator elizabeth warren to treasury secretary janet yellen in the context of her role with the financial stability oversight committee. This is hardly the first time. I've had multiple regulatory topics to cover on the same day. And that i think reflects just how much discussion of these issues is now. Happening at the highest levels of government in some ways this was an inevitable byproduct of the most recent bull run not just in the sense. That higher prices and more attention bring more scrutiny. Although that's part of it it feels inevitable in the particular composition of this bull run. It's one thing. If crypto is a silent off segment of weirdos and malcontents and internet people even if they keep getting richer and raising the value of their magic internet. Money's it's something different when all of a sudden the participants are traditional financial institutions. The concern start to magnify both from consumer protection standpoint as well as from a systemic risk standpoint if banks are allowing people to access bitcoin buying selling and holding from their accounts is there a greater consumer protection challenge if hedge funds which have historically been points of failure for the larger financial system. Suddenly start to opaquely. Load up on crypto. Does that mean a new type of systemic risk are stable coins being adopted actually a threat to the dollar system that government currently controls for regulators. These seem like reasonable questions. And thus we're seeing much much more scrutiny.

How Much Does a Wedding Actually Cost?

"Experts project that twenty twenty one wedding costs will rebound what they were in two thousand nineteen if not higher so let's take a look at the twenty nineteen numbers. According to wedding wire the average cost of a wedding reception per couple was around. Twenty eight thousand dollars. Although i'd venture to say it was probably a little higher. Because according to the not here are the average costs involved with a wedding reception. Buckle up because it's a long one ten thousand five hundred dollars for a reception. Venue two thousand four hundred dollars for a photographer. Eighteen hundred dollars for a video for two thousand dollars for florist sixteen hundred dollars for a wedding dress. Three thousand seven hundred dollars for a wedding band twelve hundred dollars for a reception. Dj seventy dollars per person for catering and the average wedding in two thousand nineteen had one hundred and thirty one guests. I guess it's an odd number because of all the singles who want to go home or at least go to bed with a new plus one and that brings the total cost of food to nine thousand one hundred and seventy dollars. The rehearsal dinner costs on average eighteen. Hundred dollars five hundred ninety dollars for the invitations. One hundred dollars for the hairstylist hundred bucks for the makeup artist. Four hundred bucks for the party favors and last but certainly not least five hundred dollars for the cake that is a total of thirty five thousand nine hundred and seventy dollars to put that into perspective that the lot more than the down payment on one hundred and seventy five thousand dollar house or tuition for a year and a half at florida state university. It's a huge chunk of change. And again i would still argue that. Those estimates are probably low. I mean shout out to the bride. Who's spending one hundred ten bucks on a hairstylist. But if you're living in la you're probably spending five times that amount which brings me to an important point of course. These averages vary widely depending on factors like location. What time of year and even what day of the week it is. You're tying the

"I have to mention my only corn hauling anecdote. Which is that in high school. I lost the finals of a cornhole tournament to Current nba player. Frank kaminsky lost free homecoming tickets because i think it was cheating that he was seven feet tall and was able to just kind of dunk the bags into the whole but either way i lost and i'm still very upset about that. Solid namedrop for sure. Basically a fruit. Yeah i gotta tell you. I feel like a among the rules of cornell should be no overhand tossing. You're basically saying. The tank tall people have all the luck except late in life when their knees hurt. I was in charleston. And i walked by this. I mean i don't know why. Just drop that was in charleston. It could have been anywhere. I was recently walking by this guy and it was just he was. He must've been seven foot tall. And i was just like wow first of all everyone staring at this guy and then i was just thinking his his late life is not going to be enjoyable like always thinking that anyone can have bad knees late in life. That's true exit. More likely right more likely. I don't know like. I would say almost definite at seven feet seven feet. You're definitely having knee problems whereas at least like maybe it take care of your joints in your thirties and forties and you can get late in life without your knees bothering you. Yeah seven seven foot. Tall guys always have new problems. Juvenile time in charleston. Chris i did. Actually i mean i. I don't actually know. Ju just gonna i can let you in on something now. She was on with recommendations what was the bite. It was a fig. it was a an appetizer. It was like a sushi rice bowl. What's like the rice bowl called in in the asian world. it's like poor poker. "Testing. Currently mr commissioner. What's most common injury in cornhole. Is it just passing out for being hammered. That's definitely a common injury drinking too much and tripping over the board as as as one But these guys are grounded all day throwing a lot of bags and so that elbow almost like tennis elba. You don't be. It's it's similar people's arms just really score. Their shoulders could soar from thrown as many bags. Do at about. What's the evolution of this sport. And i think that's one of the great things about it and you know we'll have to say but i think that anyone who can get that muscle memory down that repetition very similar to bowling. You can excel at sport. Is it fair to say that. This is the biggest sport in the world. Because i think of every sporting events that i go to basketball football baseball if there's tailgating people were playing cornhole so i would think just by that logic that it is big as every sport combines. I would love to be able to agree with you. However i don't think people tailgate internationally in the same way that we do here in the us. "Bellamy and chris cody and we are here to bring you another few bits of content that we feel really good about this week i off. Dan has an interview with an nfl draft expert who got all thirty two picks correct including trades absolutely remarkable. What a story. And it's coming to you in just a bit. Also chris and billy had the chance to sit down with. I believe the president of the american cornhole chris. Hard hitting hard hitting this Yeah it's a of fun kornel. It's right up my alley. Billy whips out a cornball according to board and try it was it's a shit show but it was fun it was so it's one of those visual gags that no one that billy prep to no one for the and and just just kind of ran with it yesterday. Someone tweeted at me that they wished we would stop covering sports such as hockey formula one boxing and soccer. So i hope that person listening to the american cornhole association president this week mystery crate. The person can kiss my ass fast growing sport in the world. This is folks. I feel like all of us in just that tweet alone. I guess chris what is your niece. Sport of choice is beer pong sport. If it's not it should be league yes. I don't know that's a good question. When is my niece. Because in that tweet. Jessica representing formula one roy representing hockey myself representing soccer. I guess no one on this. Zoom really represents boxing baseball. Baseball's my niece. But that's the thing though is like a used to be the mainstream sports. You talked about on like big sports programming. That baseball was in an in an amongst basketball and football. Is it still. I think it is for me. It will be. But the common folk like jessica my feel differently. She's younger. well. I think if we didn't have belly on the lebatardshow our baseball conversations would reduce by at least eighty five percent is that we'll say though in fairness to dan the host of the program. Dan is a massive baseball fan. I don't think it's it's kind of like a subtext within the show. But it's something that i've noticed like. He'll just randomly pull out. Observations from games or apologised on mlb network that we use on welk while channel surfing. He started covering the florida. Marlins on a professional basis. There's like a low key huge baseball fan see. I couldn't be more into baseball. But i've checked out when you guys just started talking about baseball. There's just something. I love it but it's just like it's just chris give me like a fire. Take on tony larussa. Right now on this fricken go. Please take this yeah. I mean preserving the unwritten rules of baseball against his own team who who could have seen coming that that was going to go well to tony larussa experience in chicago. The youngest team in baseball like the oldest man and speaking of sports roy. Chris and myself have all been to at least one florida panthers playoff game this week and well at time of recording. It is to nil in favor of the tampa bay. Lightning for you can say you could say fuck sake roy. This is great. i'm so angry. Al feel like actually saying fine time a recording. It is to nil in favor of the tampa bay lightning. And we've been so chris. Can i just let me. Just say something okay. Am i allowed to say that. I thoroughly enjoyed being pax arena. Like i just feel dirty. I feel dirty saying that witty allowed to say because it felt amazing. Yes you are chris. Cody don't feel shame. Don't feel like well you know. Because florida florida's been the most wide open state in the middle of the pandemic. South beach is crazy. That's exactly what i wanted to talk about it. We can you know. The hockey's been addressed on lebatardshow proper. But i wanna talk about the feeling of being in and around people. Now i believe everyone on. Zoom is fully vaccinated. You're in and around people wittingham again. Well you know when you're in a crowd. I should have said a crowd rather than people. But i did like feel such a sense of freedom after the. Cdc thing came out. I like went to a bar that night. And i hadn't been i was like you know what now that i can. I'm gonna go. I went to the hockey game. There's nine thousand people they say in an arena way more not very close to each other. Many people are wearing masks. And you know what. I felt. Totally fine chris. Did you feel guilt dude. I got to do that. They were down two nil witty and they got a goal in the second period and there was high fives everywhere. It was high fiving strangers. I went and sanitized after it was great in the moment. Roy now in the press box i presume. There is still some distancing measures. But i did see photograph that was put up of you in a couple of your Your favorite Panthers colleagues notably george richards and david dork. And you're not wearing masks in that picture. What is your feeling now in the of the cdc guidance so you don't have to wear masks indoors you don't have to social distance if you are fully vaccinated to clarify. We took off on masks for picture. Larry put it back on so it was a four press box during the regular season. They had glance between people and it was a bit out. They had to actually full press box. Where was more people are doing game one and game two so they took down glass and is is a little bit closer together but i felt perfectly fine personally because i'm fully vaccinated and most of the probably everybody into were fully vaccinated right moment. Just go for the moment. Your in new york. And i imagine see new yorkers probably have a completely different psyche about this given that really. The spread of the pandemic really began in earnest. In new york there is obviously massive devastation. In the first months of it. And so i feel like coming out of. It is probably gonna take a little bit longer for you. Psychologically although it is strange like how much doing normal things just feels normal. I thought i'd be a little anxious to be at a restaurant and do and travel like thought that would be really weird but it did feel normal. But i will say i'm i'm happy to see. There's so many people at the panthers game at all these stanley cup playoff games. It's been awesome to hear crowd noise again. Same with premier league games having going out. I feel like there's but coming here. However i wish there was better messaging about vaccinations at these events. I don't know maybe in person. There has been better messaging. But i wish i heard on the broadcast. You know statistically only about forty percent of the people at the panthers game are probably vaccinated. I mean maybe give or take a few percentages. I know that's not exactly how statistics work but like it would just make me feel better if we were saying. Look at all these people at this game. If we can get herd immunity say percent of people in the united states vaccinated. Then we'll have a full arena and keep pushing that messaging. That's all i want. They did have an enduring one of the intermissions like a little video of. Hey like the panthers. We're getting vaccinated. It was like the team. But i'm with you on the tv. They do that yet. I believe that Atlanta united where they had forty thousand in for an mls game they actually had a vaccination site in the stadium and the people who took advantage of that. So i completely agree with the ultimately this does come down to everyone getting vaccinated. I personally i. I don't wanna speak for any of you guys. I personally encouraged anyone..

"Well you've done it you've given yourself a great gift. You have stood in the middle of tidal waves. And you have said this will be calm here. The waters will be still and they will be milk and they will be filled with corn and wheat and rice. Welcome to the Empty Bowl. Meditative podcast about serial. My name is just a macro and I am a serial enthusiast on. I am Dan Cooper I am merely a mouthpiece for the sacred word serial to speak through me. We're so happy that we could be here with you to Just give you a calm few minutes to think about nothing other than delicious Nutritionists fortifying very ambitious and somewhat superstitious. Serial and serial. Offshoots would say cereals. I projects cereal EPHEMERA. Cereal Jason Entities. Just sort of the broader sphere into the circumference of cereals projected aura Now I was getting a lot of Images sent to me of this first news item and I gotta say looking looking pretty good. Oh yes this is a complete trilogy of Cereal pancakes from I hop These kind of The release of these dripped out onto the new cycle. So much so that I had to keep updating my blog posts because I we saw that I was doing a lucky charms. Pancakes and for some reason fruity lucky charms of all things which I will be outright and saying is probably the worst. Lucky terms varietal. Become out in the past. Five Years Agree Maybe they just had a very very surplus supply of it and that's why they are Dumping it onto the sweet vanilla cream pancakes and then finishing off with you know sort of this inexplicable purple burst of whipped cream. It's a very much a royal purple than you would find. Even on the horseshoe marshmallow so it should be noted that this per- whipped cream has made an appearance with other licensed I hop products They recently not recently. A few months back had a Addams family pancakey Breakfast and and this purple whipped cream featured heavily in that would you say you have an encyclopedic knowledge of sort of I. hops license. Cereal stacks now but they are one of the few people that still going for it and I and I respect that one glad. They went for full spectrum here. Because if that's not your thing you could also get cinnamon toast crunch pancake stack which is probably the most straightforward You got served these differing levels of cinnamon brown sugar Who's topped off with the cereal itself and I'm more traditional looking whipped cream Dusted with further cinnamon. I think that sort of the the safe choice If you are like me and you're going out to try all of these at once. This is the one you can serve to your ride. Who is watching with abject horror as you to eat every single cereal? The cereal thing that's in this ihop finishing out. This trilogy is kind of strange because you expect with two other General Mills pancakes tax. We'd get one more But making a guest appearance here is Chem crunch with crunch berry stack as seeming to be a wider. Grocery trend has brought blue syrup to the mix Which I don't know it's just a very very intense. It is as if the hat itself melted onto the stack Nothing seems to be strange about the whipped cream here so this also is probably a little bit less experimental. I guess saying that in looking at all of them. None of these truly stand out as a weird pancake experience. But it's certainly something you have to be committed to I will note that they also include Creamy cereal milk Mousse. I think that is probably the scientific description of what is wedged between kicks tax. Yeah you know. We don't really know exactly what cereal milk means and most context. It's kind of up in the air catch all term for anything from just sweetened milk to you. Know thoroughly fermented cereal milk. So I'll have to see for myself whether these Creamy CEREAL MILK. Mousse mounds are worth the price of three different. Stacks to try them. All we have we have another Story maybe maybe breaking the trend of DONUT CEREALS. That are loved and lost. Hold up hold up. I need to clarify that. We didn't even mention the serial milkshakes at ihop also. Oh Wow yeah absolutely so two of these. The cinnamon toast crunch crunch. Berries also could be eaten in. You know milkshake form at high hop whether they are actually blending the stacks into the milkshakes or whether they are condensing the milkshakes into pancakes. I like to assume. It's all the same stuff and therefore you should be dipped or dunked or perhaps You know smothered syrup with the stuff. I don't know I mostly just thinking about my own upcoming experience here because whenever I'm able to make it out to I. I know that I'm just going to have to try to milkshakes and three pancake sex at the same time so I'm trying to think of the most creative way to try them all in as few as possible for my own sake Yeah th- that would be an intense day if you tried to consume all these ones. I wonder if there's a limit to how long you stay in. I hop whether this sort of a three meal And then sort of immediately passing out in the car afterwards affair and now we can Return to the world of donuts cereals. One that we've indulge in Hartsburg in a couple of times so yes. The latest entry in the sort of universal serial donut bakery that. We've seen in a timber rations recently. We've seen the ever popular powder donuts which I believe have finally disappeared off. Shelves tragically completely but Duncan is returning to this mix to bring us to flavors of their own cereals Moca LA and Caramel macchiato. This isn't I guess technically donut cereals. Because they neither are flavored like them nor are they shaped like them but instead we get these two spherical puffed cereals each with your standard garden variety white circular marshmallows. But they're each made with Dunkin coffee itself. You might remember that in twenty eighteen rumor surrounding a Caramel macchiato Dunkin cereal. That was supposed to be actually caffeinated. It's very unclear whether there's actually any caffeine and that makes this time I have to imagine that such a thing as it wasn't twenty eighteen would be just a nightmare for anyone or any parent buying them for children without reading the fine print. So if I had to wager. I'd say that these would be closer to sort of the MOCHA crunch cereal. That general mills did a couple years back. But hopefully you know with more of the actual robust coffee earthen nece to round out the experience. I'd love with a little little bit of that coffee flavor that bitterness is not something we come. Get Breakfast cereals. Here speaking of new flavors a historic moment in apple. Jacks history. Oh Yes for the first time as far as I can see if you're not counting Cinnamon Jacks is sort of a a spliced offshoot of the brand. There's never been an apple Jackson Limited edition flavor. That wasn't apple nor cinnamon even care. It was Was Apple Jacks flavored? It's just so strange to me. That Apple Jacks is really. You know every single one that you look at. There's Apple Jacks crashers. There's Apple Jacks gliders. There's racing Apple Jacks and each of them is just some sort of differentiation in color or shape each time proudly proclaiming that. This is the same great taste that you're used to. I don't know about you but apple. Jacks is not such a you know. Beloved flavors me that it couldn't do with a little bit of experimentation so. I am glad that we're finally getting you know. Perhaps one of two or three obvious flavorings for an apple serial. We're getting CARAMEL Apple Jacks Yes the cinnamon. Mascot himself has disappeared from the box. We have yet to see whether the Karma Element here will be anthropomorphic Lee represented but it's basically obviously still loops but instead of the Greenpeace's they've added these sort of Burnt Sienna Rings. That I don't know I would say that. Carmel and cereal is very very hit or miss. Yeah a lot of cereals. Just think Karma means caramelized their existing flavor whereas others will actually do the true where there's original diligence and bring. Yeah words also escaped me when I'm trying to describe Karnal Flavor. Yeah there's bad examples like The Superman serial from years back That that was not a during the Batman. V Superman Debacle that was a very bad Caramel flavor. Yeah I I don't know I just feel that. Assistance is apple. Jacks I dive into the new flavors. Fear this might have been a a tough nut to crack for them The kind of might have bit off more than they could chew by approaching this very nuanced flavor but I will of course given the benefit of the doubt One last one. And this is one of our occasional diversions in pop tarts but This good one. Yeah this news just broke today The pop tarts bites line obviously must have seen some success because we it debuted with strawberry and brown sugar cinnamon the classics and then very recently we got chocolate fudge pop tarts bites as well so now to perhaps Celebrate that successful trilogy. They've introduced confetti cake. Pop tarts bites. Which I won't say is the most exciting. Classic pop tarts flavor that they could have brought to the forefront here. Yeah If it means again getting the the quantity of pop tarts flavors in bite form to expand that sort of extended universe we can get ever closer to the the milk chocolate grand pop tart bites that you know. We'll obviously only come once. If exhausted every single other possibility you look at these confetti cake pop tarts bites themselves and they look probably like they'll distaste like you know a little bit of Golden Flower A little bit of that butter cream. Vanilla Sugar Are you a fan of the Confetti cupcake pop tarts themselves? It's they're fine yes fine. It's like it's. It's like a lot of birthday cake you know. It's sweet sweet sweet. It's not that interesting to me. But you know who knows? It's pretty I like that I like seeing one's the rainbow colored sprinkles. I always thought this her aesthetically the best. Yeah you look at the press. Release for these. They always make a big deal about sort of the edible confetti or glitter. As if. That's just this sort of you know primal draw that all of us have always wanted to do. Finally Eaglet are just like you always dreamed now. Even though you weren't able to go to ihop yet you brought I hop Cereal pancakes to to yourself. Yes cap'n crunch and perhaps it's sort of about of maple intend to this. Year has teamed up with Jemima to bring us two things. First of all there is Berry tastic. Pancake mix so basically. Just your standard engine. My Ma boxed mix studied with all kinds of again edible crunch Berry Confetti So I'm going to start there Because I look at this box and I look at overall product and it's just so fascinating to me how things like this can get all the way from the conceptual stage to the end of the pipeline. And like a lot of it's just not one hundred percent thought through. Yeah I don't know if it's standard for for box pancake. Mix to be literally bursting at the seams with the actual dust itself. I kind of expected there to be a bag inside of this box. But it was already kind of Leaking this rainbow dust all over my kitchen to begin with and you smell. It doesn't smell like much. You taste a little bit of the dry mix. It still doesn't taste like they recommend that were so the preparation process here is no different than again. Either box makes. This is a just add. Water type situation. And I'm really glad that I made these depraved state because it feels like the only appropriate time to make them. I was at like three a M. I had totally forgotten the national cereal. Day was the next day so I scrambled and took photos and terrible overhead lighting. And I think that's the only way to really truly represent these crunch Berry Berry tastic pancakes. Because they don't look great. If you if you take the idea of sort of melting all these rainbows sort of dust pieces into one sort of Brownish technicolor experience. And then you add this ocean blue syrup that they also released with it and this stuff. Just it's it's going to save me my blew. My mind feels a little too on the house. I've heard all kinds of comparisons to dish soap. windex some sort of antifreeze. Or wish you look at. It doesn't look like you should eat it it really doesn't and the consistency and the viscosity of it is almost funny to me. Because you pour it on the pancakes and you're used to this. This idealized image of Maple Syrup cascading down the stack like an idol waterfall. But here it just sort of lays there like coke or perhaps There's this hair gel that I used to use in elementary school can. La Looks type thing there was just as real bar beside colored stuff that would just lay on your hair and turn everything all crusty But it kind of looks like that when you covered the whole experience with the inches tastes like normal. Artificially flavored maple. Pancakes are up and the the pancakes themselves loose so much of whatever subtle crunch berry infusion that they had that at the end of the day you're really just eating I don't know.

"Good shit anyway hook all in all i get it the silence of the lambs if you go look at the the academy award nominees for this year there's some really good ones but i just feel in my in my personal opinion hook should won best picture silence silence of the lambs great movie great acting jobs in that movie but i'm not like it doesn't hold any significance for me longterm i feel like cook age so much better although signs of the lambs is a classic hook should've won best picture if you haven't seen hook go watch it get on the hook train we're gonna start throwing up hook pictures and videos on the on our instagram and twitter as of today that is a promise next segment i mike have you seen hook have but none of their longtime but now that i've heard this i'm more intrigued to go see it again it's bad ass so much fun it's not french new order but i believe he gets the job done give it a try give it a try next segment animal of the week this week we got the red panda going as always go ahead and google google images this this thing the red panda while we're talking about it so you can have a good visual thing is like a stuffed animal as a lot of the like we like to pick you'd animals for the animal the week we're a little biased and it looks like a combination of like a cute dog a bear a fox in iraq kuhn or something.

"Unbelievable character maggie smith is a national treasure look one of the things i was confused about with her role in this movie they made her look a lot older i think she was in her fifties when when she played granny wendy but they made her through makeup and hollywood magic and whatnot they made it look like she's like eighty five and that was very confusing for me because then like the next thing i saw and she looked thirty years younger and i was like what the hell is going on here with this woman but anyway maggie smith is kick ass toodle kicks ass i don't know who the do toodle is on those name but shouts to him he's awesome the relationship between captain hook and his right hand man shh me in this movie sneeze played by bob hoskins r p he's also no longer with us this is one of the most beautifully complex relationships in cinematic history between captain hook and schmidt there are there are rumors or like it's sort of like urban legend if you will that duh hoffman and bob hoskins decided they were gonna play their characters hook and schmidt as if they were secretly gay lovers which is hilarious and if you watch the movie in that context it makes it all the more enjoyable and funny because they very much do have that type of relationship and apparently steven spielberg fan found out about this that they were doing this and he was furious did they decided that was the way they're going to portray these characters.

"R i p to robin williams one of the greatest every do it on multiple fronts but i'm just saying this is this is my favorite robin williams movie what's the good morning vietnam movie is it called good morning vietnam it is as good as movie too by the way if you never taken the time to go watch that it's like younger robin williams but it is so freaking good and he's fantastic in that he's at a ton of great movies but this is my favorite this is this is to me the like pinnacle of robin williams just as a side note i didn't even know it was dustin hoffman playing captain james hook until like two thousand twelve would you just crazy i had no fucking idea and then one day like finally hit me i was like holy shit it's dustin hoffman this movie is great for a number of reasons some of which i'm gonna run through here the kids in the movie the kids that play the lost boys the kids that play peter's children they're fucking phenomenal and a lot of the credit obviously goes to whoever was in charge of casting for hook a lot of the credit should go to director director you may have heard of him steven spielberg they just knock it out of the park if there's a lot of scenes where there'll be like fifteen twenty kids all over the fucking frame in the background and shit keeping all those kids on point at all times had to be insanely difficult and they did such a good job with this movie if you like happen to be looking at you know some random dude in the background who's not involved in the scene who has no speaking lines they're still all like acting their asses off granny windy played by maggie smith.
