"More recently off to christine blasi ford's accusation of sexual assault. Not a single republican voted. No on kavanagh's confirmation congressman matt. Gaetz of florida is currently currently under investigation by the department of justice over whether he had a sexual relationship with a seventeen year old girl and paid for her to travel with him. Only one of his republican colleagues congressman. Adam kensington has called on him to resign and gates remains in office and on his committees and then of course of course. Just look at the former president who led an insurrection with impeach twice and has been accused of sexual misconduct by more than two dozen women. Republicans as whole of never tried to hold him accountable for any of that he remains the defacto leader of the party and they're likely presidential candidate in two thousand nine hundred thousand four now donald trump and all these other republican men have denied everything and refused to acknowledge the validity of any of the allegations against him. They deny deny deny and continue to have a future in their politics so yes. Today is a sad day for the democratic party. One of their stars amount they were considering a the presidential counter just a year ago resigned in disgrace. But you could say. It's a saturday for american democracy because it's a reminder that there are only consequences there is only accountability for democrats are system not for republicans. Trista is a writer at large for new york magazine where she published this excellent investigative piece earlier this year about the allegations against andrew. Cuomo thank you both for joining me. Katy let me start with you. Where are we now in. Terms of the metoo movement in terms of standing up to sexual misconduct in public life did today move us forward. I think it's a really important line in the sand. That has now been drawn right. We've been able to say this is not going to be tolerated by people in the highest positions of power. Especially if you want votes from women if you want votes from You know people who make up the democratic base. And i think that's that's meaningful but it's not enough because what we have to recognize. Is that harassment of women is an extension of violence against women. And that's a much more pervasive problem. That's something that you know. All of these lawmakers can call for resignation. But if they don't do something basic like past the violence against women act you know we're big on bipartisanship. This is all talk in the senate if they're not willing to do something like that. Their words calling for Nation the people stepping aside for for scandals. It's just it just is not enough so i think we really did shift the conversation towards what are meaningful actions that are going to address. Widespread epidemic violence against women. It is an epidemic and your talk about the need to move the conversation forward rebecca. It's also a political very political day. So let me ask you a very political question. Is this the end of the legendary cuomo political dynasty in new york. People today are already talk about him running again in the future. If he can. Dodge getting impeached bob from office. I was going to say when you pointed to the fact that donald trump may in fact have a future with his party. I don't think it's at all. I'm thinkable that andrew cuomo will continue to have cuomo. "There seemed to be some wins beginning to come out here and there so we'll let let's see what happens with him. But for now, I will say he's earned the right to have this conversation and to go forward. I don't I think Jerry DiPoto ultimately help you win a World Series. If he's given the munitions of do so. If you say that again, just given the any issue to do so right? But that's a big reliable. I just I'm just not sure. But he's on the right right engine. It's gonna be fun. They have improved their their farm system. This winter didn't in a hurry. Went from the very very bottom of the league. No matter who's rankings. You wanna look at or how you wanna put this together probably somewhere in between fifteen and twenty in the league. So they're creeping up a little closer to to respectability there. And that's gonna help them make some decisions down the line as far as their window to win. Whether you believe that's I don't believe it's twenty twenty either. Whether you believe it's twenty twenty one or twenty twenty two whatever where is the window in terms of where the other clubs are in the American League West because too. In the end, you'll get some wild card clubs that that will threaten or go to the World Series. It has happened once or twice, but generally you gotta win your division to win the World Series. He's an Astros won their division won the World Series. The Boston Red Sox on the east. Generally, what happens in major league baseball, even with the wildcards. So for the mirrors to put themselves in a position a couple of years where is that where does that window start as you look at where the angels are. Or the Astros are the Rangers are rebuilding right now to on the same same time line at least as tearing down as the mayors are the Oakland A's might be the wildcard here, but went where is everybody else where does that window actually start to open for clubs that are rebuilding right now in the American League West window starts open, depending solely on what happens in in Houston with the the free agents that they're going to have coming up. Right. Look at the big league clubbing and all talk tonight use on TV hill air, but you look at the bigly club and sign we've Miley right loss. Mccullers who? Should have been a reliever the entire time. Everybody says guys. I'm tired of this conversation. Okay. And you have you have a kaikal a free agent, and you have Charlie Morton signed Tampa Bay. Okay. So returning you've got your coal and Justin Burland nine necessarily order. He's got waived my going to step into the rotation. Good job in the walkie last year. But still it's not like, oh, okay. Who's step into that rotation? And you've got calling Hughes Phyllis plot for now. And then guys gonna bunch force Willie. And then you have Josh James and you have wherever else instead of that five role. And that's a really different look than club that run up last two years and say we have we have the best or one of the best of all, right? So that's that's a little bit different now, and you have a Marlin Gonzales who filled in a lot of roles day was hurt. In Korea was hurt and very productive type guy, man, he's fun to watch and fun to be around. And they've essentially replacing with Diaz who isn't as versatile and isn't gonna hit for as much power in may just not be as good player saga player. He's he's Marlins light. And then you have a catching situation now. And is..

"Listen carefully. I believe that the sedan station wagon and pickup truck over part. Thank you. Mark. The hospital some night and take the bolts off wheelchairs. The classic Andy Griffith show. No doubt about it. I'm dated Serio. Good morning to you. Not so good tomorrow. It's going to be six degrees here. I heard I heard it was good. Well, no, I I don't feel. I don't feel good. I one of the reasons why I'm here. But I certainly don't wish it on you guys. I love to see you get some warm temperatures over there. I know it's going to warm up soon. But tomorrow's gonna be a rough day. It is I have a little eight ninety four zuzu truck pickup. Has about eighty two thousand miles on it. She uses it take debris to the landfill. When I started up. It it screeches. I. A fan belt. Let's do it for about maybe six seconds. And then it's fine. And then I'll drive it it's fine. But that's what happened to it. Well, either have some kind of product on anybody's sprayed something on the belt. Do you have or you have something binding up sometimes a water pump or a power steering pompon? A c compressor is binding up. And it's not ready to start the belt is, and that's why you hear the screeching sound probably probably does your AC work on your zoo. I don't have air conditioning. Okay. Not even from the factory never had air conditioning. No, okay. So it's a basic truck, and it does not have air. A small little truck, and I ended up to the local mechanic s and they said, they check the belts. They said, it seems fine. You know, the belt. And they're going to have to see this happen. In other words, you'd have to drop it off the night before. And let them see the start up in the morning. What they're going to be looking for is. What is not starting exactly the same? In other words, what you're crank cranks over the belt goes onto the other pulleys, your alternator, your water pump your power steering pump. For example, one of them is dragging. Yeah. Deering? It's just a string truck. It is a basic truck up. You still have an old alternator, and you still have water pumps so slowly. But surely because of the lack of features on your vehicle, we're eliminating things so far we can't be your power steering your air conditioning. It can be your can't be your water pump, which is the most likely or the alternator. Okay. All right. Look for that. Would you ask him to do is drop it off the night before? Right. And make sure they have the hood open and someone out looking at the hood underneath the hood. When somebody else starts, the vehicle can take a look at take a look and see what's happening. All right. Great. Okay. That gives me a clue. Okay. One other thing just to let you know that that belt made need tightening. Okay that could possibly help. But normally, but needs tightening, you sometimes get a squeeze at other times only startup it. Usually means something is slow lane behind. Check, the tightness of the belt also. Okay. We'll do. Thanks. Thank you. Fred is in New Orleans. Good morning to you. Mr fred. Fred are you there? Well, we we must have lost. Fred he was in New Orleans, Louisiana. And we're sorry. We lost them. But hopefully, he can call back. Let's go to our other caller John in false in good morning team. Mr john. Oh, come on guys. It's not that early in the morning and had this all happen. All right. Well, we must have lost John too. So either Pepe scared them away or they couldn't hang on for a few moments. When you do make a call to me. And I'm hoping that you do at four ten WCBS six eighty probably in most cases, we'll be holding on for at least ten minutes. I do my best to get to everybody in order as quickly as possible. And we do that on the show, but we'd love to give us a call at four ten w CDM's six eighty four one nine two two six six eighty also. Of course, don't forget that you also have the other phone number for the long distance toll free one eight hundred WCBS six eighty well. By the way, Chrysler is recalling more than one point six million vehicles worldwide. Replace you best you got Takata airbags. Some of them are still on the front passenger airbag inflators that can be dangerous. Over the last number of years, at least twenty three people have died from that problem worldwide, not just Chrysler. But most Beagles the Honda's have more deaths than any other manufacturer at this time. But twenty three people have lost their lives possibly due to the airbags situation with tocado. This particular recall covers twenty ten through fifteen through sixteen Jeep Wrangler. And if you remember the gentleman that had the heater that was only working part of the time. Do you? Remember, what vehicle that was? Yes. There was an Astro van ninety three Astro van. Okay. I thought it was a Chevy early early van. I I had the same thing. And. I had four it was where the passenger sits. There's a there's a wire harness connector. And I walked out that Hornets after I chase the problem. Just like he did. Right. And it was passengers would kick it, and it just shorted out to the liars. Okay. I thought it in a new connector and the the problem was fixed. It might not be ex. But it worked for me. Very good. Well, we appreciate you giving out that info, I'm sure he's still listening, and hopefully that's going to be helpful to them. I appreciate that. Yes, sir. All right. You have a great day. Thanks again. Donald. Thank you. All right. Bye bye. Now, that's a good fix. And again, I'm not sure if the Astro van is wired the same way as the full size Chevy vans. But back in ninety three a very good possibility that GM did that also the Astro van. So that gentleman Mr. Ed TV hill check that out taking a break back in just a few moments. "Well, just to let you know fighting a cold and doing that with nyc wolf last night and Benadryl this morning. So Lord knows what's going to be said today on the air. Yeah. Never ever know. Keeping you informed of what's going on. Remind you the phone number's once again phone lines are open at four ten WCBS six eighty that's four zero nine two two six six eighty at outside of Baltimore toll free, one eight hundred WCBS six eighty you. Oughta know, let's talk about some recalls. Twenty nine Lincoln Nautilus is already being recalled only have twenty seven hundred of them out on the road or at the dealerships, but they are being recalled because of the steering control technology that has been put into the unit may not work. Of course that could increase the risk of crash you use those type of steering control technologies. So the company said Wednesday did not aware of any accidents or injuries, and it's a strong selling point for the car which cost about forty thousand dollars. And it has the lane settling assist. Adaptive front steering, but the eagles may not adequately detect whether a driver has his or her hands. All the steering wheel. Which has led to the recall, if the system fails, the car may not be alerting? Put their hands back on the wheel. Of course that is a risk of a crash. So twenty seven hundred of the brand new twenty nineteen Lincoln Nautilus luxury SUV's are on recall. Let's go to the phones we got Ed on. I haven't heard this mentioned in a long time TV hill read how you doing. How are you? That was pretty quick. I went up ninety three Chevy, Astro minivan. Okay. Well, we're motor for your here in a yes. Won't go onto high. So we face the console where the control is. And. Said it's a resistor under the hood and tally showed it was a little rusty. And this. That. Brand new one hard five, but we got one brand new note does so doesn't work the connector needs to be replaced too badly deteriorated connector on same deal. Now, I'm thinking if it was the blower motor, wouldn't it wouldn't come on at all or correct worker? What you? The switch have you replaced? The switch itself. Switch on is all part of the same console where you adjust how hot or cold you want it, and whether it blows down below the frost, or whatever it's all one control. Yes. That was replaced. On the dam normally with the resistance goes ban on those boys. It only works on high. And. So you're saying that you replace the switch, and this was happening before you replace it at exactly the same thing was happening after he replaced it. No difference three different parts. Okay. And behind the switch. There's also what we call hardshell connector. Did you replace that? Also, I don't believe behind this. Switch on. I don't believe we replaced. What it connected to? I'm fifty Maccabi the only thing unless unless there's some type of wiring problem. But I can't imagine a wiring problem the wiring problem to the resistor. What's that again? Is there a way to like trace it? Well, of course. Yeah. But I mean, it could go from anywhere between the switch and the blower motor which is going right through your dash. So not an easy trace by any means, very unusual. I can't imagine it being a blow motor you're right because it doesn't make sense to me the blower motor is on and being controlled by the switch and also by the. Resistor? One two three when you put it on Ford stops I now occasionally in Iran for like five minutes and then go back out again. I don't have an answer for you. Unless it's the hardshell connector behind the switch. That's the only thing that I can think about that. Maybe something has melted back there. There is no logical reason if you're switches working if you're a resistor is working and your blower Motors working, but it would not work on all speeds. So for to have it to a situation where it won't work on speed four. And you said it every once in a while to work on their for five minutes. Come and go. Yeah. Yeah. But I don't even bother put it on there. I mean, right. I got I got the first three. But when it's really cold or really high. Yeah. I wanna flow much faster. Absolutely really cold is coming. So the only thing I can think of that is that switch is that? The control unit. Not sorry. Excuse me. The hardshell connector behind that. That's the only thing that I can think of that could cause now that you mentioned it works every once in a while. I wouldn't even think it's a wiring problem because I don't think anything's moving enough in that dash to how to work and not work. So I'm just thinking it's got to be that connector behind the the head control unit. That's all I can think of more brief very brief question show arm underneath the truck that your shock votes into. The passenger side needs to be replaced. The piece that holds shock absorber on it rusted out and one you go over a bump for or a hump or something in the road. Truck bounces like, you know, you go up and down like a trampoline. And I was told if you redo one, you you, you you always do both sides say the other side appears to be just fine. Is that would that be correct? Well, what they're probably talking about it. They're talking shocks, the shocks that are probably talking about doing that control arm. He wanted me to get both. I think you're fine just doing one and what's the job like that? In your opinion. Ron. I had done one of those in so long. I'd say probably between four and five hundred dollars. Okay. Okay. Yes. That's just a guess. But I would think one side would be fine. If the other side shows, no play and it's in good condition. Then you don't have to replace both sides. Well, thank you so much for your time. It was pretty awesome. I I appreciate it. No problem. Thanks have yourself. A great sense. Thanks. Bye. Bye. Taking a break back in just a few moments. I'm Dave Serio. It's you ought to know talk radio six eighty WCBS Blake Shelton..

"And the unknowns needed to really go into video because video something that requires you to lose money before you can really before you can make money where we invest in people. First of all, that's the best investment you can have. And so, you know, our digital team. I think is as good as any. I think our our president, Richard Beckman, Iran Condie. Nasc in the heyday in was head a revenue advice is the best. We have a great publisher. I think we have our social team is fantastic was originally led by neaten Zimmerman moved to to calif-. Nya remains a great friend of mine, but who was the best in the business, and we now Rev replace that team, you know, the him with a fantastic new team. So I think that's the investment that people have to think. So, you know, the real question is what platforms are we going to do. We are tremendously large on Twitter and Facebook, we're now going to heavily this year will be on YouTube. We will go Instagram Lincoln. So we constantly, and you know, we're also very large and Google. So you know, you constantly balancing that out. You're not balancing out in the investment is always in the best people because if you have the best people, and you pay for the best people, you know, they can teach you but video itself. I mean, you're is is not profitable on its own. I mean, it's it's it's part of third show will make us profitable. Okay. Because we have a, you know, a core. Base which has a thirty people and to cover that based you need a third show. And we started we I show covers the news. And we it's even that's balanced because we have. Crystal ball who is on the left and she's paired with Buck Sexton who's on the right, but they don't throw bricks at each other. They discuss issues. Very much the hills the hills way of doing things, and they interview people and they interview from different perspective, but it's not a brick showing show. It's a show that really wants to get to the truth. Our second show that we have is on what America thinks which basically exam. We have a poll the week that we take ourselves. But we examined other polls and one America thinks it's a very interesting show and our third show the cooler version of our first show, I'm so has Trump and really good for business. Macroeconomic climate which has gone on. Well, very good for business for others. I think he's been fine for us. Most people hit a high in their traffic with the presidential election the last presidential election. And then I I then they went down for a period of year. We went up every month. So we try to balance it not just with with election stuff with Trump stuff with. But we also do policy stuff. Drowned out though, sometimes. As Muller been good for business. Look all of it. You know, all of it. You know, I don't know Muller himself or Trump himself on good for business. We find ways basically to constantly increased traffic. So if you went back three years ago, we had a couple of million unique. Now, we have thirty two million unique in that excludes what's on Facebook and other other platforms. So that's enough scale for you to go out and close these large advertising deals. Absolutely. And we are also, you know, our TV hill TV has got an up to during the some of this shows has got an up to a million views. That's as large as much larger than most cable shows except for the very biggest. So it's not like we're not capturing people's attention in video as well. Right. And and the audience growth was not hurt by the changes the Facebook made. To its algorithm. No, we had we were but we're diversified. So, you know, as I said, I think the people were really heard through all their eggs in one basket, you know? So let's assume that and I I don't know this detested. But if we went down twenty five percent in Facebook, we went up as I said Twitter, we would the six largest two years ago. Now, the third largest every other one of those companies on that list of billion dollar companies..

Facebook Trump Twitter Muller Nya America neaten Zimmerman Google president Iran Condie Richard Beckman Buck Sexton calif YouTube publisher twenty five percent billion dollar three years two years
