"Check I labs that Com Line four and that in Tustin, thank youfor patiently holding on in that. No problem, Leo. Thanks for taking my call. My pleasure. So I upgraded my window. Seven. Pc two. Windows 10 About six months ago. Everything been good, good until about a week and 1/2 ago. I booted up my computer and Windows icon came on the screen. And there's usually a little progress indicator thoughts chasing each other around in a circle that didn't happen, and I waited and waited and waited. So I powered up power to back on. It starts up normally great. Well, that's the scenario every day Now. It's you've got a double clutch to get it started, huh? Yeah. Yeah, this worry that one day it was not going to start up. I did some looking on the Internet. There's all kinds of advice out there about unplugging us the devices and rebooting or Disabling fast startup or doing a ritual of those air accurate. Okay, so there's a lot of the reason is, it could be a lot of reasons for it. Certainly. USB devices kins halt boot. So if you've got an external drivers, so they plugged in. It's worth just because that's the easiest thing to do. I always start with the easy stuff, right? Right. So let's unplug the USB devices. See if that stops it lets certainly turning off Windows fast. Food is a good idea. Windows fast boots, a terrible feature that should not be On windows and doesn't speed things up. Don't worry about it. But honestly, the symptom you described implies that the first time it's not warm enough. It's booting up from a cold start the second time it's gotten a little warmer, and it's doing better. That is not unusual with computer hardware, especially with spinning disks. You have the old style hard drive, not a solid state drive. So I have a spinning disk. I do have Ah, small, solid state drive, which least when I was running Windows seven. It would boot off that drive, but I don't know what it's doing now. That's that until hybrid drive. Probably, Yeah. Um That's an interesting question. The way the this weird hybrid drive is supposed to work is a very small it was the solution with necessities were very expensive. So it's very small. You've heard me talk. You're obviously sophisticated, You know about all this stuff, So if this is not for you for your benefit, this is for everybody listening, but the idea was Yo SS teaser too expensive will give you a teensy one like a 64 gig SST too small that really be useful, But we'll put the things you need Fastest will put there and the rest of it could be in the spinning drive less expensive. Spinning drive. It's not a good solution, and nowadays it's really better to use an SST because the prices have fallen. What it sounds like to me, You know, a solid state drive wouldn't have this issue, but a spinning drive could as it's cool. Just the alignment is slightly different as it warms up. Oh, yeah, I can read that sector. If you have a sector that's hard to read. Sometimes a zit warms up. It'll be easier to read. And this is a very common problem with spinning hard drives so honestly. I would try all the little things like the fast turn off fast food in the USB. Everything you've read tries lies is not significantly changing your system. But ultimately it might be that a new hard drive helps thie other and and this would be a chance for you to put a nice fast SST in there, and they're not expensive 100 bucks thie and you could do Is it a laptop or desktop? Easy on the desktop, easy peasy, thie other things. Sometimes the power supplies will do this as well and the power supplies. They're easy to replace, but a little brisk ecause. They have capacities of them. They could hold a charge. They're not expensive. They're actually less probably them the hard drive replacement but involves opening the case on screwing some stuff, putting a new one in It's a little trickier. But if if if the power supplies flaky and you're getting low voltage with them, you know as you the next time you turn it on, you get sufficient voltage for everything to start up. It starts up, that's fine. You know, one way to fix this. Just don't turn your computer off. Hello. Oh, no. Ah, no, I think the phone died again. Now we Ah, have a fairly complicated form phone system. And one of the pieces of that phone system is a voice over the Internet provider. And we've checked our systems at the studio. Rebooted him. Everything's fine. You hear that sound of silence. That means they're the trunk died. The VoIP service that we use died and we got the engineers. That ones that goes back down. Teo, you professor Laura? And the engineers in the Premier network because they are the people who leased that she's back and that's back. Yu do anything or just came back. It just came back a set line. Good. Oh, so ah! Wow. Ah! What did I ask you before we were so rudely interrupted. I can't remember. But yeah, this this you I wouldn't do the power supply yourself. You sound fairly technical. If you feel comfortable doing it, that might be worth it. Getting a new hard drive. The nice thing about that is it's not a bad thing do anyway, It's going to speed up a lot. How big is the hard drive? And now she's gone. There's a there's a technical term. They use for this? In the computer business is flapping. That's when something goes up and down and up and down. It kind of.

"Sixty three in Laguna beach at sixty five and Tustin sixty in Bonn Tanna and sixty one in north Hollywood. We lead local live from the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. I'm Debra Mark. Johnny cash show. John kobylt Ken chiampou KFI AM, six forty everybody. Welcome. Well, we love polling, especially when results show that people are not happy with say governor Gavin Newsom policies. He's only been governor a few months and these made some moves including the death penalty deal last week. Can of course, he's proposing attacks on drinking water, and he's got all these ideas. Do hold back gas tax money from cities and towns that don't build enough affordable housing and on and on and on. So we have car Demayo coming on. He's the chairman of reform California. He brought you the gas tax repeal and the recall the recall of Josh Newman. And they sponsored a poll conducted by Remington research, and we're going to talk to him about all these issues. They can just mentioned what the public thinks Karl welcome. How you doing? Good good. So explain the purpose of this poll here. My phone has been lit up and Email implying in with people saying that they're angry that Gavin Newsom as governor that they're really upset about these initial policy proposals at a water tax the rate on gas tax funds to impose in affordable housing mandates the non cancellation of high speed rail, and then of course, the latest the suspension of the death penalty. And they say, let's let's recall him. And I'm a I'm a data driven guy. I I really believe that if you're going to get into a fight you need the data to show that you have a path to victory. And so I said look before we do a recall against Gavin Newsom, we need to get data and we calling. So we did two portions of this poll the results that we released today are on his policies. Now, these are the initial policy proposals that he has released and just the first couple of months anything Ben governor, and there's been. A lot of media attention on these nationally. And of course, the liberals seem to like what he's doing. But the poll shows that California voters are not very happy. So let's go for each of them. The death penalty suspension only thirty nine percent are in favor and fifty two percent are opposed nine percent undecided. What's interesting about those numbers? Even though you might say, well, that's not that lopsided a plurality of Latinos. And African Americans disagree with the governor, and those are traditional basis for the democrat party that he's gotta keep what else have shows is that unlike the normal, you know, issue of death penalty the way in which new someone about it is is really turning people off because they feel like, you know, he went against the will of the people. So their supply ability their water tax is off the charts Newsom has succeeded in bringing people together against them. Water tax. Seventy eight percent are against the water tax. And this would be a tax on drinking water. I mean, you know, we already pay high water fees for government agencies to deliver the water. Top of that there'd be a tax a seventy eight percent opposed. Thirteen percent are in favour. Nine percent undecided. Interesting note. Sixty seven percent of Democrats oppose newsome's proposal here. So this one has a big potential to if they do pass this to be a real wedge issue in the next election. Gas tax to raid the gas tax and punish cities that don't play ball or comply with his affordable housing mandates. They would basically get no road repair monies. Fifty three percent of Californians are against that. Thirty two percent are okay with it. Fourteen percent undecided. Again, Latinos leading the way the traditional democrat coalition with a super majority opposed to his proposal and then high-speed rail. This is where Newsom is saying. Yeah. High speed rails over budget. Yeah. We're gonna be way behind on schedule. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna complete billions and billions billions of dollars of more cost the least traveled route between Bakersfield, and and and Modesto. That is a fifty four percent opposed. And only thirty one percent in support of interesting note, a supermajority of L A resident are against this proposal. The only place where he gets any sort of a modest support is the bay area. And of course in LA. There's a lot of targets seats in the LA area that they could lose the next election, and you know, LA computers are sick and tired of sitting in traffic, so people in the bay area one a high speed rail between Bakersfield and were said, I think they worshipped mass transit up there. I mean, I I don't think those people up there really have a good concept of how people get around. But you know, we we looked for areas where perhaps news some could find. You know, some silver lining in the polling numbers and the only area is on high speed rail in the bay area everywhere else these first four big signature proposal that he's made that have gotten a lot of media attention. These four proposals are real losers, and they're they are uniting super majorities of California voters against him. And with more coverage of this proposals. I just think it's going to get worse. So news dot off to a good start. And this is really interesting in that the media seems to have a love fest with this guy has though. Wow. Look at all these great proposals. He's making and look at what he's doing is such a great leader. The voters are sitting back saying, I don't like that idea. I really don't like that idea. And so what what happens is it. It could very well end up creating a a liability for him. Now, here's one other number. I'm going to share with you. 'cause tomorrow we have the recall numbers that will release we have favorable unfavorable of Gavin. And he's got a self a pretty big problem because he's one to one thing ever going favorable thirty four percent St Louis thirty four percent unfavorable with the remainder undecided in this. This is why that's a bad situation for him to be in is that his his profile. His public profile is pretty soft people do Jerry Brown and Jerry Brown's unfavorable favorables, you know, about thirty percent unfavorable the remainder usually about fifty percent favorable in this case new some runs the risk of having a whole bunch of people out. There are still undecided. They could go either way, and this is down from the sixty two percent vote that he got in the election. So these are people who are not necessarily gonna you know, just follow him blindly. And he could lose those undecided. Nearly as you go forward. The only Paul we saw last week covering any of your questions was one here done locally by ABC channel seven on the death penalty and pretty much right in line with yours. It was sixty percent against Gavin Newsom decision to suspend the death penalty in California. So you may be right on with all these other questions to we you surprised by these results in that their overwhelming in many cases. No, I wasn't surprised at all. What's going to be interesting is whether the overwhelming opposition to his initial policy proposals in the first few months of his administration, whether that translates into voters wanting to entertain a recall election and kick them out at the very least some is is framing toxic agenda, and this should be honeymoon period. I mean, this should be the period by which you know, people are saying, yeah. Fifty percents favorable. He's brand new in office. No, no. He's got one to one ratings on save unfav. And that's a very bad position to be in because your brand new people tend to say look. Yeah. You know, the first sixty days seems to be putting an administration together hasn't missed a beat things are still running teams in the state. Do you think do you think this has any effect on the California Democratic legislators? Absolutely. And that's where I'm going with this my working theory from the get-go has been that Newsome may end up being untouchable in the coming election in terms of a recall because it's so difficult to get a recall done, and he would be able to consolidate that recall election with the November presidential turn out, which is a high turnout election. However, he may end up putting. State senators and state assembly members who are Democrats who vote for his extreme agenda putting them out of office. And this is going to be the interesting question is are Republicans in California smart enough and courageous enough to actually take this case forward and say, look if you don't like Gavin Newsom the best way to send the message that you don't like Gavin Newsom is just throw out, you know, assembly member, Sharon quirk Silva, you know, vote against assemblywoman Sabrina savant that, you know, vote against Josh Newman who's trying to make his comeback. We can that be translated into the legislation legislative seats. I think that is absolutely. What is is the most probable way that people can resist Gavin Newsom proposals. Well, we look forward to seeing the results tomorrow on the recall question from your polling. Thanks for coming on. Thanks, guys. Ticket reform California dot org is the website to find out. More on this poll that called the mile the president of reform California just mentioned, but they were polling people around the state. I think over a couple of thousand of them on all sorts of questions, including the death penalty and the gas tax and what's coming. Next is Gavin and the water tax. What's coming next is a question as to whether or not people want to actually move forward with a possible recall of new some more coming up. John and Ken KFI. Debra.

"Do you have five? Wow. Long Beach rita's Tustin riverside, El Segundo, just about a few months ago. What's what's the signature dish? So we actually have a few one like one of the most senior our signature dishes are are butternut kale salad, but an kale salad. Yeah. It's fantastic are lobster and our new lobster and shrimp role. We've probably sold a trillion of them. So that one's pretty much go to and our smoked fish tacos. Unique all that's good. How do you prepare prepare the kale in the salad? Oh, it takes a little bit of a process. We I break it down take it off the stemming massage it with a little bit of salt a little bit of oil and saw helps break down that chlorophyll taste. And after that, we make a roasted garlic and red wine vinegar roast off the butternut squash with some pepitas some fresh shaved parmesan cheese. Really simple ingredient driven pretty good. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. In the preparation of kale is important. It is even if it's been cut it can help with that process. Otherwise, it's a little scale little alien skinny it can be. Yeah. That's I think where you just kind of the massaging is a very important part of it. Because a lot of people just forego that you'll see that in a lot of places where you just have just okay, great, raw cut kale, and it doesn't really give the chance to break down because it is a tough. It can be like you said scaly, it's a tough tough lettuce leaf. So that's that's a very important part a little bit of oil for the lubricate little salt to help kind of. Of of Leach out some of that Clearfield taste and really then makes a little more gentler. You get the soft slightly fatness of the butternut squash. Nice. Absolutely. Wow. That sounds really good whole the the those three things that you listed sound lovely or any of these on the list for for dine out Long Beach. Yeah. We kind of probably most dude like a two two course. And do a little sad like a salad and sandwich with lobster. Roll know, maybe you can choose from the kale salad or do a soup and sandwich. So we also have our clam chowder. So you know, you could probably choose one of the two, and we haven't completely confirmed it up, but most likely I give out of ninety five per cent. That's what will be your hands involved in all locations, or are they franchised, another all there's no franchising. So. Yeah, you got it. Wow. You you you? It's a touch point for all of them for your absolutely you'll see one. You see you go to one you'll get them at all. So good for you. Yeah. We've got a great team. So I mean, it's not just me. We've got a wonderful team of of crew of managers of other guys that are chefs, and we all kind of get inside of it. And and make sure it works and work with our guests as a chef y seafood. Us my background, I've sailed to Australia a few times. So I mean, the ocean is I I worked in in lived in Hawaii. I'm an avid ocean. Man. I'm a fisherman. You know, my partners are fishermen. So I mean, the ocean is just kind of what we just our ethos. So I mean seafood is just is where where where it is. That's where the heart is. What's a seafood ingredient that excites you oh? All of it. I mean what seafood? Ingredient doesn't excite me. I mean, if you would ask me once I can do without you sell. So maybe sea salt that's not a secret ingredient. But I know it's a kind of obscure one. It's all good. That's a tough one. That's too tough to answer. Did you is there any changes in seafood going on or a certain fishes that are more accessible now than they were before the next two hours down conversation? Of course, there's tons of changes. I think there's a lot of changes in the industry as far sustainability is concerned, you know, the I think there's a lot of of changing the perceptions of of of aquaculture and best practices and how good wild is knowing where you're where you're where you're wild product comes from. So there's a lot of discussion points on that. You know, what's really fresh? You may have a wild fresh cotton. And that's what people think is like the gold standard. But when it comes to really talking about what's fresh, and a histamine level thing, you might be better off getting really responsibly raised for a former as aquaculture product, it's done in the proper vertical integration scenario. There's there's like unlike anything you've got you've got, you know, Cadillacs and Pinto's the entire industry. But I think that's maybe I'm hoping to see that's where the industry has changed a little more education about what's what's what's sustainable. What's not? Yeah. "In Laguna beach. It's seventy one in Tustin sixty nine in Fontana and seventy and Tarzana we lead local live from the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. I'm Debra Mark. John and Ken show. John kobylt Ken chiampou KFI AM, six forty. The people are going to get out of town. They ever going to get out of town. Because last Friday, it seemed like there was a huge amount of traffic Friday night. And I thought, wow, maybe a lot of people getting outta town because they're taking a whole thanksgiving week off. And then last night there was a huge amount of traffic is not the same thing. Well, I guess there's another crowd. That's getting out the day before Judas before thanksgiving. Then this afternoon. It's all botched up all over the place. Again, I'm thinking how many people are getting out of town along, but it's been going on since Friday last night was horrible took forever to get home. Oh, I'm longing. To take you to get home. It will last night. It took an hour. And usually it takes about forty to forty five minutes. So even though it's just another fifteen minutes, it still was annoying. Yeah. What about you? I took an hour. You know, part of it. I just pulled over to the side of the road. And I cried for a while you, Dan, I can't I can't take bumper to bumper traffic, you know, for for a long time. I never had to deal with the harder rush hour. And then when our time slot moved and we ended at six. I know it stink. Oh, let's but today when we go home tonight when we go home, it should be it should be not so bad because the peak time is between two thirty and four thirty this afternoon. That's what AAA is saying. Yeah. But that's the peak doesn't mean after four thirty. It's good. It's going to be good. I think most people have already thanks giving tomorrow for crying out be running out of people by now somebody must have fled. There you go. Hey, suppressive, happy thanksgiving eve. That's what I said it. I know you're just I told you donate. Right. Much fun. The this is this is really offensive. This is unbelievably offensive and. And no one will ever find any trace. And.

"Beach. It's seventy six Tustin Seventy-seven in Tanna and Eighty-one in Tarzana. We lead local live from the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. I'm Debra Mark. John and Ken show. Ken chiampou, KFI AM, six forty. Hey there. Hey there. Welcome everybody. All right. All right. Uh-huh. Gotta say this one thing. I love about today. I don't like it was a holiday. This is the fastest. I've gotten to work in months. There's nobody across the street at the snack area. There was nobody on the streets. Is it is this national holiday? Now. Don't be Halloween is that what's going on our people not working today. I'm wondering, I mean, I guess if you have small children you want to be home in the afternoon to do that thing you might take the half day or day off. But I just felt like as I said that to the woman at the cafeteria said, it's really she goes it's completely empty and here today, it's probably Dulce. Yeah. Without kids know, they're just it's another goofball reason not to work in drink. That's what everybody wants to escape go to a party drink. Yeah. And that's all anybody wants to do is just not work. I need this explains. The opioid crisis. It really does. Everyone's you know, everyone has a different level of where they're looking to escape. Halloween's a smaller one, but obviously taking drugs and trying to escape into that world. But also another reason we've had an opioid problem. Opioids on Halloween. Doesn't get better than that. I that will be big tonight. Yeah. There'll be a lot of opioids right face down the street. And in case, you don't know for the million time. There's a big party tonight in West Hollywood. This look cover that. Like, it's breaking news. I never got to that. And I think I think. When I first moved here. And maybe 'cause I lived right near in Westwood, and I think I just wanted to see what that. Yeah. Nearly half. The only have to see that once right? It burns your eyes. It's pretty hard. I'm not I'm not into. I'm not saying a man's barrier. Ed's. At the back of his pants. There was a lot of drag. I remember. Yeah. The first time I saw barrier, and I never come into this again. And we did that what's that was Halloween. One thousand nine hundred six dressed as women. Yeah. I was just telling Shannon and Gary about that. Yeah. They couldn't believe you ever wore a costume. I did as a child, but I really do. Because I said I said, I don't think you because you and your wife used to go to parties in this lion. Tamer thing that's. That wasn't a party that was Friday now or Fred Flintstone, which is trying to think where the Fred Flintstone. Costumes still it fits. Okay. That's right. It's like a toga. That's right in front is fit through all the years. All right. Well, we're going to start by telling you, we're we're six days away from the vote. And if you believe the polls, and you don't have to put the I know they're not good. Well, I do I do why. Because I believe that the ballot question has fooled people. We're not going to get through to them. There's your answer. I think those ads as much as I there's just so many of them that are no on prop six I think that's also having an effect on people who really believed that the road funding has gone if they vote yes. On six now, I think they have no idea it's a gas tax repeal and that there's plenty of road funding. Who knows the gas tax repeal? I think you have more faith in people, which is weird. Because usually the one who just there's too many dumb people. This is simple. They don't have to know too much six gonna win. Yes. Okay. Thomas partner strategies poll Newsom fifty five John Cox, forty two they have pretty much declared that one site and on the prop six. Yes. Thirty five forty four. But unsure still hanging in. There were twenty percent. I don't know. There's no question to ask that asks them what they know about propsects a lot of people, right? They don't have the gas tax repeal. Let's go. Now in next Tuesday's my I think a lot of the people who are gonna wake up and understand. I think a lot of people are saying no because that question is read to them. What are they going to see when they go to vote they same question? They're going to be looking not gonna look any different are going to be looking for a gas tax repeal is a lot of the looking for a gas tax repeal, really. Yeah. We may live in a church choir and a little trouble. I know I'm in a bubble. I'm talking to a million people signed the gas tax repeal, which fantastic. Millions nor will vote next Tuesday. So I told him saying. I they to me, and I live in a state that's ruled by Jerry Brown. Nancy Pelosi Feinstein, Kamala Harris, these are people at one statewide office. Democrats do not wanna pay the gas tax. They don't big majorities of people want the gas tax repeal, but I'm afraid of blended in in other words, still don't want their resigned to high gas prices, and they're not sitting there picking out the gas tax necessarily as one of the things that they have to do something about I think they want to repeal the gas tax. Those polls show it overwhelmingly what what these other poll like your optimism. They don't it's an optimism. It's the way I look at people most people want to repeal the gas tax. I don't believe in certainty. Right about certainty. Very confident that six will win next Tuesday. Yeah. But that's not certain see I think when you look at it enough polls. They're pretty accurate. I've said that before we did that in two thousand sixteen as well. You know, you can't just look at the times poll and decide. No. But you look at everybody's polls. And actually turned out pretty close. Right. Trump lost the popular vote, but he won the states. And it was only the difference of a few votes in a few states that made the margin in that election. So yeah, but there was a lot wrong. Then you are times had Hillary winning with a ninety nine percent chance that was early early in the day. Right. Right. Voted but still. I thought with that elections only came down to a few states and only came down to a few thousand votes. So that could have gone either way, they nobody did the rational thing, which is doing electoral college count the popular vote. Does it matter and everyone was cleaning to popular vote polling that doesn't matter? Oh, yeah. No, right. Well, they did a state by state polling, but they were wrong. They were wrong in some of the key states that they thought Hillary was gonna win Wisconsin. But then again, Trump did win win by much. You're talking about the margin of error wrong is wrong. Wrong is wrong. And if if there is a question that can determine what a person knows about propsects walking in and I haven't seen that question. And there is no question. I just think a lot of people are gonna be hunting to repeal the gas tax. I yeah, I hope so I have a feeling well, I'm hoping that the people that are uninformed low-information voters don't vote they ignore the whole thing. See, I think they're informed. But giving them that that summary in a poll question. I it seems like a completely different. But by now, everybody's gotten their ballot guide in the mail. If they're looking for the gas tax repeal, the dump through it and say, well, where the hell is it? Many people read those. I never even see mine. Otherwise, you're gonna walk in there and be like take twenty I take our voter guide in. I can't remember all the propositions. Yes. So I think I think every, you know, everybody listening you bring in the voter guide. Follow what we do will have a huge impact, especially on propsects judges in their trust the voter guy. That's like half my voter thing. I just looked at it yesterday. Like, oh, the judges have. Oh my gosh. All judges. Yeah. Well, whatever judges make it through on the air are the ones I vote for vote. No, though on just because the California Supreme Court judges. I don't like what's going on. State. Well, you don't vote on them. Do they it's? Yeah. You do. I thought they're appointed by the governor. No. No. They don't, but they have candidates running against them. Now. I think the supreme court is is a point. I think you have to you will. Yes. But there's something that came up because. Yes, there's something like that. 'cause I saw it in the El Segundo times. And they. I can't find it. Now. Give it a look. We'll take a few minutes. Yeah. Oh here. It is judicial supreme court Justice vote. Yes. Or no for each office. And they've got two of them here. For associate Justice of the supreme court counter Corrigan. Yes. And for associate Justice Lenora Krueger. So there's that another candidate. We just say, no. Yeah, you're right. It's a yes or no on them. No idea does that mean if we say, no, then what had happened to replace them? They pull a trap door, and they disappear. Really? Yeah. I got it right here supreme court Justice gig being voted on bought to research this one because I did fooled me too. I looked at this yesterday because sick ever heard of that. All right..

"In the fifties and sixties it'll be sunny and warm tomorrow temps, upper eighties to mid nineties right now, sixty nine in Laguna beach. It's seventy four Tustin Eighty-one Fontana and eighty three in Tarzana. We lead local live from the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. I'm Debra Mark. John and Ken show. John kobylt Ken chiampou KFI AM six forty everybody chair. Yeah. You. Because that was yesterday wasn't it. There you go one fan. Okay. Sound blue only adult women particularly cheers make you angry. Yeah. Do what about you? Yea yea ya. She's probably got twenty. She's going to go back to Anaheim my full day open that. Yeah. You always do. I didn't know you didn't know she would do that. Well, we thank everybody that showed up yesterday and active auto body there in Anaheim. We had a really good turnout people enjoying it took a lot of the Mailer stuff with them all the propaganda for propsects propaganda. The truth repeal the gas tax. We thank you all for coming. And. Now, we got to go forward and win this thing because public policy institute says that will propsects did increase slightly over the last month. That would be the yes side. It apparently is still lagging in their polling and one of the weird things that's come out of this. Now, not that it matters anymore. But as few Republicans as we have in the state of California, they're barely supporting this kind of weird. You would think that easily, you know, if all the Democrats vote against it, and it affects everybody because the gas tax on the middle class the upper class lower class. But it's the question again ask him if they want to repeal the gas tax. I saw polls early on they had majorities of Republicans majorities of Democrats. I know, but you get message would get through after a few months of hearing that I don't know what people are hearing. Nobody covers this. Nobody covers this on TV or radio. Nobody now the media. Well, the newspapers do I see bunch of stories. So yeah, who who reads reads at times, Sacramento beacons, even more difficult on a newspaper website to find a specific story than it is to find it in a in a paper copy, right? And there are fewer and fewer people reading paper copies. But on the internet. They bury stories and they're hard to find. You you have to keyword search. Search gas tax repeal to find the stories. They don't put them on the front page. They don't even put headline links on the front page for them if they don't score well for hits they exist, but you'll never see him. No, you're right. You know, the exact keywords. So it's it's invisible news. That's actually one of the reasons that I still read the paper paper because when I go to websites, I look at the front page look down the margins everywhere around the front page, click to all the sections not really that bores me when when when they first started putting newspapers on the internet. They matched whatever the lead story was in the print edition. You would see the same stories on the front page. And then they changed the method and it became all. Breaking news a steady diet, even if the because they want it to be completely up to date. They don't scroll through the website several times day maybe during the morning, so they want it to be all fresh. So it's a headline service combined with whatever's incendiary enough to get hits, right? And these days it's seventeen anti-trump stories because I guess most of the people read the LA times news or left-wing progressive, and they need their little shot of adrenaline day Trump, but others your normal news stuff for regular people. You you can't find it. They'll say they cover it. And it's there, but. The it's not visible. Well, most people are probably like me the only look at the front page. So right. You gotta jump out of people or you're not gonna have any chance for them to click the story. And then you get a little more views hits. If they actually click a story front page. I think I think what what because I've actually tracked like different news websites, and they're certain stories that stick and they'll keep them at the top all day. Oh, yeah. Sometimes several days or sometimes they go away and they come back. Yeah. You if you track the New York Post, for example, the Los Angeles Times lot lot of newspapers do that. So they only play the hits on the front page. What's going to get them? More clicks and stuff. That's also important, but doesn't. Yeah. I think if you put a gas tax story on the front page of the LA times. Right. A lot of people would read it. But if there aren't enough people right away to read it it evaporates, and plus you can't trust the Los Angeles Times to cover it. Honestly anyway. So it's probably it's is probably better than the stories buried because they're so dishonest. Well, well, it just shows we still got a lot of work to do gas tax repeal dot org. A social social media's the secret weapon here. Is that you were saying yesterday. Absolutely. It is. Well, you don't have you don't have any choices. You can't control the television stations, and they're not covering you can't control the El Segundo times, two reasons we just explain what can you control? You don't you? Don't you can't buy TV and radio commercials are on your own. But you do have people on on your I guarantee most cases, the people on your Facebook feed or any of the other services. Don't wanna I don't wanna pay the gas tax. So tell them and encourage them to spread the word to their set of friends too. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, this stuff can go viral to do it. And that's not sexy. But yeah, it could go viral costs nothing. And it's not something anybody who's gonna track to show up at a poll or anything, but it could be it could be extremely effective now, but you have to do it. So do public policy shows that John Cox? Among likely voters. His Dan eleven forty nine to thirty eight which is actually a bit better than it was the last time. Hold people. Yeah. That's. Well, he's got to get all the independence is not. There's no there's no he's running with the independence. But it's only forty three thirty eight years the front burner campaign. Where is the aggressive campaign that makes everyone sit up and and pay attention. A lot about. TV and radio. Now, it's just they're both advertising heavily. I don't know about appearance coxed advertising heavily because I think the media got bored with covering their appearances. So now, it's really well. Yeah, he's not I see as ads I wouldn't say there's a lot kind of money that Newsom as I think you had a million. I think he was being outspent by huge multiple, right, right? It's the same with six. That's the tough part about this one funny thing in the Senate race not that we care we have Feinstein on the voter guide. She's leading deli owned forty three to twenty seven but almost twenty five percent of likely voters say they're not gonna vote in the race. They're gonna pass. That's how disgusted they are. Those those are Republicans who. They don't have a candidate. Why? Why should I'm not going to vote for either one either? Yeah. No race. I'm skipping right. This is the problem may top two. We got stuck with two Democrats. She's she's a horrible person. She did the Brad Kavanagh that was disgusting and filthy that that is unforgivable and daily on. It's just a lunatic. He belongs in a padded room in a mental asylum. Well with with a with a needle in his arm. He's running on the simple, anti Trump an open, border agenda. That's his whole campaign. That's for left-wing children. That's why they're not buying it. They no normal person over normal person with a job is buying it. That's for the, you know, the left wing well flakes San Francisco y who can well thank God. I mean, he's still got twenty seven percent. But I thought if a guy like that gets elected that shows you how Worley way out there. This is gone. It's it's not no it's not that far gone. I guess not you need an effective candidate with an effective campaign. And and you and you can you can do a lot of damage, but we just we just don't have that. You know, you can't you can't you can't go to a knife fight with a feather and expect to win. You're not going to you need you need you need, a gut is what you need or at least a much bigger knife. It's actually you're right half of Republicans. But twenty two percent of the declined to state said they're not gonna vote in the race. So there. Bowel movements. Who cares? Democrats are going to be in the minority. Anyway. So you're voting for for an old an old poop or a a metal. And they're not gonna have any power anyway. So what does it matter in the Senate? They're going to be you could you could have two dead people running against each other. Make a different we've got one dead person in the race. But you particularly bitter today. I am I'm I'm in a foul mood. I told ya bassoon as I got in the office. And I saw you wanted gone me soon as I say that dentist said, I wanna go home. I heard that you didn't say as soon as I said, oh, I get it. Yeah. I was connecting it like I saw you. And I wanted to go. You're saying is the moment. I saw because you were there. I told you know, actually you. I love you out of your ear today. I think I wanna stay. But I wanna go. I will we come back. We'll give you the latest in the search for the pipe bomb Mailer. And of course, today's news, Robert deniro, and Joe Biden are the latest targets of these these. They're calling them crude devices that are being sent to through devices. Crude device the media term. It is a good medium normal. People. Don't say crude devices, they call it a bomb. Yeah. But it's not. It doesn't even qualify as a bomb. Well, that was something has to go off to be a bomb. It may have just been threats like some guy put together some weird looking thing that resembles a bomb and like. Happy halloween. We'll get into all this coming up on the John and Ken Shohei wake up you paying attention. No. Social media. Your chance to win a thousand dollars is here..

"It's seventy one in Tustin seventy eight and van is in seventy six in Chatsworth. We lead local from the KFI twenty four hour newsroom. I'm Debra Mark. John and Ken show. John kobylt Ken chiampou KFI AM six forty right? The voter guide is there for your the website. It's a yes. On prop six tomorrow. We're gonna have exciting news concerning propsects ahead of. The vote on November sixth. We're going to be out there with a special event. Find out tomorrow more details. Check out the voter guy to we added a few things from congressional races. Todd Spitzer, Orange County district. Attorney many time guest on the John and Ken show. He does get our endorsement for that post. We think it is time for a change that and more is new to the website and the voter guide KFI AM six forty dot com. Keyword, John and Ken and sometime between now and five twenty you have a chance to win a thousand dollars. Not yet. You just wait. We'll tell you when we will have the special announcement. So what to do? John Cox traveled to a public radio studio in San Francisco K Q E D to discuss matters with Gavin Newsom and a really irritating. James Scott shaver shavers. Does. Listen to like half of it. And I thought it was kind of like two against one. If you want to call it that public radio. Let's get John on here. See what he thought John? How are you? I'm doing Greg boys. And you're right. It was a non conversation conversation. What whatsoever described the experience of taking on Gavin Newsom in Scott Shafer in this public. I mean, you know, we talked about the burning issues being facetious there. I mean, we today they all wanted to they they both wanted to talk about gay marriage and gone. Neither of which I'm doing anything about or talking about this race. I've been talking about homelessness education water, and none of those came up. Obviously ended abate I tried to throw him in at the end. But you know, obviously, I can only respond to what Mr. shaver was talking about. So is it even is it even worth doing, you know, knowing. No. I suppose from more people to the found out about me that didn't know before. So I think that's good wasn't. We talked about affordability. We talked about the gas tax and talked about the housing crisis, which is a, you know government caused housing crisis. The reason that housing costs have done much the lawsuits that impact fees the delays, the, you know, incredible mandates that are put on housing by the government. And of course, Newsom has absolutely knowing how super any of those things, and you know, he rigged. This just talk about the issues that he wanted to talk about it. The the ones that he has absolutely no answer for any. We won't have any answer for any of those because he's not gonna be able to do anything about him. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, John I listened to about half the debate. And I did see you trying to get in. And you even made the statement that I'm not running a campaign on these kinds of social issues. They kept coming up guns. Same sex. You were trying to make the point the working people are hurting and California's democratic policies from Jerry Brown the legislature and guys I gather new smoothie the of it the pounding people further and further into poverty, people are paying over four dollars a gallon, by the way for gas the bay area. I know probably, you know. Hi there when you tell new some gas tax is hurting middle class and poor people disproportionately was there any kind of response out of him at all. Not really I mean, you know, that's just what I don't understand about them. But but you know, what it is. They don't really care about the middle class and the poor. They. That that's their that's their stick. But in reality their taxes do the most harm, and those are the people he walks over on his way out of the Starbucks and county. I mean, he doesn't care about people that really have to scrape of struggle for a living. And that's because he's been connected the wealth as entire life. He doesn't know what it's like the struggle. I do and you know, he he's just assume just keep pounding people into poverty. One hundred percent renewable is a wonderful goal. But it's going to double electrically prices prices to California already twice, but you know, what Texas has pay. Yeah. I heard you make that point you guys had a long conversation about renewables news to you. Did you said renewables are fine. But it's costing too much for people. I mean, these are the kinds of policies that drove the middle class out of this state taxes, the cost of power everything everything regulation. Everything's driven people with all these policies, and we are a state of the very poor and the very wealthy that's pretty much it, and it's not working from driving at the middle class works for the Democrats because poor people are predisposed to voting democrat and the the wealthy liberal elites along the coast are going to vote democrat. And we were just looking at a story that will get at some point on how California became a one party state at partly or mostly because the Republican middle-class moved out to Arizona or Texas or an or the Carolinas they fled because but there's still a lot of people here that are just being beaten down. I think a lot of independence and a lot of Democrats. Are still gonna look at the two of us, and they're going to say who is going to make my life better. And I have to believe they're going to conclude that I'm gonna make their life better by reducing these costs and write them a better quality of life. You know, they want to be able to send their kids. So a school that actually is teaching their kids is not failing. They wanna be audible pay. You don't get an apartment that they can rent the Florida. I just don't believe they're going to buy a new selling and every chance he could he tried to link you to Trump running your campaign that's linked to Donald Trump. You're running a campaign. That's based on the problems that the working middle class people suffering in California, they wasted three minutes on on breath. Cavanaugh what was appointed at no point, no point whatsoever, except to stir up the whole thing. And and talk about the war with Washington. The war was Washington is not going to help anybody. Get a decent house or decent apartment. It's not going to educate their. Kids. It's not gonna give anybody a chance at a better life. And he knows it. He's just going to try to work his way through in about distract from the issues that really matter to people in the state, and I'm not going to let them do a guys. I'll tell you what I'm gonna keep on trying to push those issues. I probably six interviews in the bay area today, and I founded Mr. Newsom as non conversation conversation, and I think it's going to get through. And I think the people of this state are going to vote for change. They're not gonna go with the status quo and they're not selling they're not buying. What is it like to be in the same room like next to? Well, you know, I he is like he was vaccinated with a phonograph needle. I mean, and that's an old expression because nobody knows photograph deals out of these days. But I mean, he just fouled off all these continuing in a machine gun quotes and say anything, you know, it reminded me of an interview he did with him Corolla wants for Adam just looked at him and said, what the hell are you saying what you're spotting all this stuff. And it doesn't mean anything. That's what I was looking at. What are you? What are you talking about the? Yeah. Anything to do with it. He comes off as smarmy and kind of dismissive of you, which is one of the campaign. Anyway, he's been very confident from the beginning. Well, he's dismissive of the voters. I agree to do five debates. He's agreed to do just this little conversation conversation. And and that's you know, he's got that face the voters. He didn't even put a statement in the booklet for people to see he's just treating the voters of this state like cons like little serfs that consumer bend. The prince Gavin. I reject that. You wonder if this narcissists thinks he's going to become governor then run for president in twenty years. Now, he's gonna run for president. I mean if Garcetti laugh he doesn't run twenty twenty it'll be twenty twenty four. But this is this is the last stop to a presidential right? And they're looking at him as being a prime candidate dykes. Yeah. Now, that's all over the world. People are kicking out elites like this. "Really nobody knows that nobody's that's just because no one bothered ever go back and look in the cemetery you would just assume that thirty something there and we thought that that's a good way to open the prologue to the book because it it signals to the reader right away that basically this book is full of things that not only did we not know but readers won't know and golf people won't know but we think it speaks volumes to the complexity of the relationships in the woods family three people in the family two parents and one child in an extreme complex home and i think that great speaks a lot to that kind of complexity it hits you right between the eyes right right from the very get go and very very effective well we we make the i think if you understand the relationship and i think it's one of the things we do very well in the book to spell out the relationship between irwin tita you know it was it was as much about partnership is it was a marriage and as time went on as we allude to their their physical the intimacy in that relationship fell victim to their focus of of tiger and early is evidenced by i witness accounts was often theory abusive to tita he didn't treat her with a great deal of respect inside the walls of the family home in in cypress california and tiger would never do anything we do know this would never do anything to cost his mother certainly something of that magnitude so you have to point to cheetah as the one who made the decision to put a marker on that grave and as you understand their relationship understand earls incidentally and the way that their marriage basically was one of convenience they never divorced but as soon as tiger turn pro they moved into separate homes t to having a a big house you know in tustin california before she moved to florida and earl remaining tigers child's at home so you don't have to be a you know a five star psychologists to figure out that this was in.
