Ron DeSantis on Trump Attacks

"Ron DeSantis finally came out and broke his silence about the comments that Donald Trump made against him. And I'm not going to tell you what he said. I'm going to let you listen to it because I want you to grade what he said for yourself. I want you to determine if you think this was an appropriate response, or you think that this was not a response. Do we have the clip ready? Ron desantis, when I asked by the media, hey, what are your thoughts? On Donald Trump's announcement and what's your thoughts on the things that he said against you? We'll listen to the clip, wrote a clip. We would like to know what you think about trucks. Big announcement is some of the less than flattering comments he has made about you. Well, you know, one of the things I've learned in this job is when you're leading when you're getting things done, yeah, you take incoming fire. That's just the nature of it. I roll out of bed in the morning. I've got corporate media outlets that have a spasm, just the fact that I'm getting up in the morning. And it's constantly attacking. And this is just what's happened. I don't think any governor got attacked more, particularly by corporate media than me over my four year term. And yet, I think what you learn is all that's just noise. And really what matters is, are you leading? Are you getting in front of issues? Are you delivering results for people? And are you standing up for folks? And if you do that, then none of that stuff matters. And that's what we've done. We focused on results and leadership and at the end of the day, I would just tell people to go check out the scoreboard from last Tuesday night. The fact of the matter is. The fact of the matter is it was the greatest Republican victory in the history of the state of Florida.

Jim Hanson and Kash Patel Discuss Righting Election Wrongs for 2024

"Get down to how we're going to win in 2024 and we got somebody I'm pretty sure has some quality thoughts on that. Mister cash Patel, welcome to the show. Hey Jim, thanks so much for having me. Great to be with you. I obviously everything's crazy. Nothing works, you know, the entire Republican machine is broken and we're never going to win an election again, right? Is that what is that what I've been led to believe? That's what you've been led to believe by the mainstream media because that's what they want you to believe is us to accept an unyielding defeat, except we are the party of Ulysses grant. We accept unconditional surrender. We do not surrender. And what the rhinos want you to do is accept defeat so they can rise to power the Paul Ryan's latest Cheney's McConnell's of the world. But what we need to do is learn an absolute lesson from our setbacks on Tuesday night. And that is, look, if we couldn't win and places like Arizona, Nevada and Georgia, we can't win the house. Well, in the Senate and those places, we can't win the presidential election. But I'm not saying we can't win there. I'm saying our current operations don't allow us to win there because the Democrats are playing the mail in ballot game and the Democrats are playing better and get the independent votes early to break their way. We need to start playing in that game and under those rules because as much as we don't like those rules, they are the rules and they won't change unless we elect a Republican electorate in those states to fix it. The Way Forward for Republicans After Midterm Debacle.

"Now, you are a veteran of the house. And you know the house as well as anybody and this house because you are fairly recently a member of this house. 5 years now. 6 years ago. What should the GOP House leadership expect of their members in this run up to an election for leadership? They should expect them to make sure that mentions that. The reason they went there. This is the thing folks lose track of when they just go on Twitter or rant. They lose check if they came for a mission. The mission that everyone talked about was stopping the Biden policies. He's made clear. He's not going to stop them, right? He said, am I going to change? I'm not going to make any change. The mission is to stop Joe Biden's policies and to begin to lay out a forward look, not rare we're looking forward looking vision for America. It's what the candidate two one campaigned on and it's the task that they have in front of them. And that's going to be hard because it's going to be a very slim majority. I have seen this in Congress when you have a slim majority. Everybody thinks they're the deciding vote. They can get exactly what they want. Then we should rally around the traditional American Republican value set, make clear to the American people why Joe Biden has failed them and here is our actual no BS solution to fixing those things. It's what we missed on Tuesday night.

Ned Ryun: We Have to Beat Democrats With Early Voting, Mail-In Ballots

"Here's one of the challenges. About early voting and mail in ballots. The founder of American majority, Ned Ryan, is a great, great voice in America. I see him pop up on Fox News all the time. He's often on Tucker over the weekend. He said this to Pete hegseth on Fox News channel. And states where we know early voting and mail in ballots, it is rife for corruption and fraud, where we have the ability to outlaw, we must. And where we can't. And I have to tell you, Pete, after Tuesday night's elections in Michigan and Pennsylvania and other places, we better play by the rules of the game that have been laid out for us. And if they want to have early voting, universal mail in, ballot harvesting in those states, we better figure out how to beat them at their own game. He's right, of course, we got to beat them at their own game. I don't know what that means. Because here's the problem with Ned Ryan's argument. Florida. Lots of early in person voting. I was one of them. Thank goodness. I wound up having COVID election week and was working from home and was scheduled to travel. It was supposed to be in South Carolina, so I did something I don't like to do. I went early. I hate early voting. I want to go on election day. I'll stand in a line. But I went early. There are plenty of mail in ballots in Florida as well. Why does Florida have no problem? Counting the votes.

"Baylor's blown out Villanova and Michigan state and I will state play them play them to 5 points. The loss at Oklahoma, like I didn't love that one, but whatever. You love that one. That's not a great one. Double digit loss at Oklahoma, but like Oklahoma's not bad, top 35 at kin pump. And then you lose at cans by a point and okay, this didn't have rimi Martin, but still it's Kansas, Alan field House. And then you beat in this stretch. You did beat Texas tech, the tech sect team that just be Baylor. So you can discuss that with state few different ways. One in three in the big 12, are they falling apart? Or four and three and quadrant one with no losses outside of the first quadrant. Still a great resume. Still one of the best resumes in the country. I think this slow start to the big 12. It doesn't invalidate Iowa state or expose them. It just, you name the team and tell me who's doing better than one in three in these past four games. You can name some, but there ain't a lot of them. Not a lot. Point well taken and again, just another really good game. I thought it was just wonderful for men's colleges. You had the college football player wrap up the next night we get a flurry of games. As you mentioned Loyola, Chicago, never even leads in regulation at home against a bad valpo team is down by as many as 12. And winds up coming back and winning in double overtime. I mean, loyal Chicago shot three for 20 from beyond the ark in regulation. And then went 5 for 6 over time. Braden Norris went nuclear. He had 23 game high. He had 14 and of those 23 points and over time. And weirdly enough, loyal Chicago is 12 and two through 14 games. That's its best record through 14 games in 5 decades, not the team from a season ago, not the final four team. None of them have been actually as good as 12 and two through 14 games as this one since the 19 60s and 70s. So that's pretty great. Elsewhere. I mentioned Davidson. You asked by ten to get to 12 in a row. And they were down early in that game too. Down early, Texas be Oklahoma by 14. I wanted to bring this up to you real quick. What the PAC 12 network is to you the LongHorn network is to me. I had no shot of watching this. I got long hornet. I was like a child lost in a theater. No shot at this game. You ever want to see a Vince Young documentary just FaceTime me? I'll show it to you. I might need to. Show up on that. But Texas does beat Oklahoma by 14 to win on the LongHorn network. Miami sign game win streak ended at Florida state. I believe the canes have dropped 8 in a row to the seminoles there. And Providence crate was called off about 6 hours before tip because PC due to combination of COVID and injuries did not have enough players to give the friars 7 guys to play in that game. Having said all of that, I do have a trivia time for you. Okay, let's go. So Kentucky beats Vanderbilt on Tuesday night at memorial. It's one 11 in a row against vandy. Oscar she weigh was the first player. This is surprising. Since taishan prince, first Kentucky player, since tayshia and prince in 2001 to have at least 30 points and ten rebounds in a game, credits she boy, I've been on the sheet way first team all American train pretty much the whole season. I'm still maintaining that. But we got a lot of candidates, and that's turned out to be a great thing for college basketball. Cheap way yes. 30 and 13 and like you mentioned, tayshia pretz went and had a 30 and ten game. Then went ahead a whole MBA career. Yes. Won a championship. Yes. Took a front office job with the grizzlies. Was unaware. Built a future NBA champion, perhaps our next NBA championship team. And it took all that time before another Kentucky player could do a 30 in ting gang. What in the world? Amazing. How about that? They sound prince he's taking up residence in the Memphis Grizzlies front office right now? We're homies. How about that? Tayshia on prince. This will be an off season pod one day. Taishan prince easily in my top 20 all time favorite college basketball players. Loved him at Kentucky. Loved his game. Big time big time fan of tayshia on prince. Overall, but specifically when he was in college. This is my trivia time. Okay. When we talked, I believe on the previous podcast, you had mentioned how you Luke me. No. You look at that, I can try to answer the question for you. You're not even you're not even close right now. But you had mentioned when you look at Kentucky's resume, it has not perhaps done enough to validate good standing overall when you see the losses taken in the winds and who they haven't come against. Well, let me stop you for a second. I mentioned earlier Albert's 9 and one in the first two quadrants. Yeah. Kentucky's two and three. Okay. There is some indication, though, that this Kentucky team might be better than you might be leading on. So I thought about their better than their resume suggests, but their resume suggests what it suggests. So Kentucky does have three losses at this point. And the losses have come all close. I'm going to call. I got to cancel this thing. There we go. How are we going to figure that out? Absolutely. I'll be getting all the YouTube person called me. I'll be getting alerts from.

"I did name my middle kid, Oliver pernell pairs. You did. You named him after Oliver purnell. That's correct. Right. That's a deep cut for the OGs, but yes, that's as far as I could go. You know, my wife has a say in it. In fact, my wife had total say in it. She changed one of our kids names while I went to get coffee. On the birth certificates. What in the world? I just wish my parents would have at least considered naming me Adonis arms parish. We got a commenter that says people don't realize everyone was once a baby. I think that's an accurate statement. Not that everyone was once a baby. That's factual. But I think people forget about the fact that everyone truly was once a baby. Anyway, Kevin o'bannon Bryce Williams will set 13. Kevin McCullough looked pretty good after missing a couple of games. He had 12 6 and 5 there. So credit, Texas tech. Second went over a number run team in program history and it's the third time the red raiders in their school history have won back to back games against top ten opponents. So big time stuff there. We're talking see bump city for the red raiders here. And you know it, you know, it's sea bump city. This is going to wind up being a couple of wins that pay off just beautifully down the road and for Texas tech to kind of just really shut down Baylor. Bailey went cold down the stretch. In real time, I was waiting for Baylor to make a couple of plays that just never materialized. It was a bit, it was a bit odd to see that overall, but yeah, 21 game win streak could snap for the bears. It was the third long third longest in big 12 history. Baylor actually also won 22 straight home games, that streak is over as well. But yeah, Baylor actually, even though it only lasted for a couple of hours, Baylor was the fourth team in the past 50 years to be the reigning national champions and make it the ensuing season to be the final undefeated team. This happened with duke in 2001, 2002. UNLV, UNLV, and yep and duke in 91 92 also did it. So it's not common that you have the reigning champs also wind up going the deepest into the next season before taking the final loss with Baylor, even though it was only by a margin of three hours they qualify with that as well and they take their first loss. A record school record 6 consecutive wins against ranked opponents was also snapped, but Baylor's 19 and four in its last 23 games against rank teams. One last thing on Baylor, you mentioned, they went really cold. It got to a point where it felt like if they couldn't get it in transition, they weren't going to get it. And on that final possession, James kenjo was just dribbling and dribbling and dribbling like we're in studio watching. I'm like, yo, man, you gotta shoot it or pass it, 'cause you're not getting anywhere with this. And he gives it up, gets it back, ends up taking a tough contested shot. He got it on the ram, but it's one of those that if it would have gone in, it would have been lucky. It wasn't a clean look. It wasn't a good look. But again, Baylor's fine, Texas tech looks good. It's just another reminder that the big 12 is ridiculous in terms of the quality. At the top of the league and the depth of it. Before we move on to some other games, I do want to point out because we mentioned at the top, USC was also undefeated this time yesterday. They go and play a weird afternoon makeup game at Stanford, no fans. And while Baylor blew a big lead, USC never really had one. Like Stanford was in that game, the whole time. And it drops USC from 13 O to 13 and won. And I had mentioned this before. I'll respect perfection, but once you take that first loss, then I'm going to reevaluate everything with you. And the truth is USC. You seem good, but when you're 13 O on January 11th, you're doing all right. But there's not a lot of substance there. I mean, do you realize what their best wins are? San Diego stayed on a neutral, which is good. Good. Washington state on the road, zero wins over top 30 Kim pump teams, just two quadrant one wins. There are 5 and one in the first two quadrants now, but that loss comes to a Stanford team that's ranked 78th at Ken palm. It's a Stanford team lost to Santa Clara, lost Colorado, formerly known as the computer trickers. I dropped them down to 13th in the top 25 and one. I had them 6, dropped them to 13th because and considered dropping them even more. Just sort of they settled in right there. But again, 13 wins, 14 games. Nice, but there's not a lot of substance, no signature wins. Did you just say nada? Yeah, I would agree. And it was Stanford's first game since December 23rd. No fans at maple's pavilion there. Harrison Ingram and Spencer Jones, credit to them, they used to have 21. And a good one for Stanford. They needed that as a program after just kind of going through a lot of just pauses and guys have stayed back. In Hawaii literally, Jared Haas had to stay behind with a few players when they tested positive for COVID and he was doing their laundry and all that good stuff. USC did not respond well to its first top 5 ranking in the AP top 25 since hello 1974. Andy Anfield that said after the game, we just didn't defend it a high enough level and offensively we couldn't make shots. We had plenty of good looks our offense didn't give our defense margin for error. We weren't good on either side of the ball as we have been for most of the season. USC had been playing pretty well defensively overall. In fact, through its first 12 games, not one team shot better than 40% from the field against the Trojans the past two games that has some in the case Cal narrowly got past that mark with 40% 40.7% shooting over the weekend. And then the cardinal shot 43.9% on Tuesday night. USC was going to be the lead item in the court report if it had been able to win, and I was going to speak with any unfilled and given the front page treatment, if you will, instead, it will be Kentucky, and we'll get to that in just a second, but Kentucky will be the lead item and then what I'll mention here is also going to be involved in terms of the final undefeated teams taking their losses there. But yeah, I would agree with you, reevaluation is in order here. Still think that USC is going to track itself well to get a good seed. I still like I say Moby has been a fine, fine player this season on the whole. And I think he's got a shot at being an all American once we get down the road, but next up because of the schedule crunch on the PAC 12, USC has got to turn around and it's got two wonderful games at home, Oregon state on Thursday and then Oregon Saturday..

"Operating with a first year coach, and not to suggest an inexperienced coach, Mark hadn't been doing this for a long time, but the first year head coach at this level. And I just go back to the day the disappointing but unsurprising day for that fan base at Texas tech when they lose crisp beard to Texas because two weeks earlier or three weeks earlier, where it was, there's no reason to think that's going to happen. Shocking smart just won the big 12 tournament. He's off the hot seat. Texas is not going to open some crisp beer can't leave for Texas and what other job is crispy are gonna leave for. Maybe Indiana, I don't know. But like, probably gonna keep crispier. Guy who's taking you to a final four done unprecedented thing. Then boom. Texas loses Abilene Christian, shock is like, I ain't going back to Austin ever. He bounces to marquette, Texas opens. Everybody in the industry knew crispier we're going to take that job because Texas we're going to do whatever it had to do to get him. And then with all due respect, on a surface level, all things equal, it's a better job than Texas tech. So he leaves, and at fan bases, oh man, we just experienced the best, I don't want to speak for him, but this is the way I would feel. We just experienced the best years we've ever experienced. We had the perfect coat for our job. And now what's next? And you promote Mark and I think that was the right move. But like we talked about a million times, you never know if that's going to work out well. And long term we'll see, but so far so good. You know, they're now three and three in the first quadrant got winds of where Baylor Kansas and Tennessee and all three losses are two teams that are currently ranked in the AP poll? Like you're one of Mark Adams in Lubbock, it's going really well right now. It is. I want to know if there's a coach that has a greater disparity between his overall vibe and look and the style that he coaches. Mark Adams does not look like this absolutely tenacious defensive mastermind. I don't know. He looks great. If we could, if we were smart enough and gifted enough to know how to make movies and stuff, you could take Mark Adams, put him right in the middle of a 1974 college basketball game? Yes. He'd look perfect. And I'm loving this flow, but I couldn't help but notice all of that. But as you mentioned, no Terence Shannon junior, which I thought made it more all the more impressive Texas tech, trailed by as many as 15 down 31 16 in the first half. But Adonis arms, listen. The fact that there is a dude named Adonis arms and he lives up to his name and that he threw down that dunk that dunk gave tech a 61 50 and I wish we could show it to everyone watching live on YouTube hello. We appreciate you all in the chat. Looks like we've got a nice little community building there. If you are not yet subscribed, please do. Even if you listen to the podcast on your phone, if you could just subscribe to the YouTube channel and help us build that, it would make not as weak. Please, please do so. I wish I could show you the Adonis arms dunk on the YouTube feed in real time. But again, that's a rights issue. We can't do it. But if you watch the game, you know what I'm talking about. Do it. Let's do it. Let's get into some legal trouble. Are you afraid of legal trouble? I'm not afraid of legal trouble. I know. I know you're not as the man who thinks he can pull off extortion left and right. I can't pull off extortion or advise other people who are interested in it. Exactly. There we go. If you want to go ahead and chase that down, I'm not officially endorsing such behavior on. I mean, I don't know how to do it. But I'm not scared to do it. That's the point I wanted to make. I grew up in the streets and horn like Mississippi, hometown and the Kobe D national champion. You think I'm scared of legal trouble? There we go. I was raised in legal trouble. So arms first down this absurd dunk in traffic, which we felt like was going to be the dunk of the week until and again, we'll get to this, but Alabama's JD Davidson like two hours later, yamm to all over walker Kessler down in Tuscaloosa. That was phenomenal. But arms had 14 points, 9 boards, 5 assists two blocks. The dude lives up to his name. I just love the fact that Adonis arms was once a baby. Like, shouts to his parents. They named this man, Adonis arms. He was walking around as Adonis arms when he was two years old. I get so mad at my parents every time something like this comes up. Every time, like, did my parents not realize they could have named me Adonis or arms or Zion? Like why my parents made me Gary Parrish? I mean, I know why. It's my father's name. I'm Gary Perez junior, but like, just, why would you name something Gary when you could name it Zion or Adonis? And I know you did not.

"Take a player prop for the pelicans and go with Brennan Ingram over 24 and a half. Yeah, I like that handicapping there, the Trail Blazers have been a team. I've loved to attack on the road. I will say, though, if dame plays, this is a contingent play. If game plays, I actually kind of like the Trail Blazers plus the one and a half or on the money line. Plus one O 5. But I think they can win this game if dame is there if he's not, then that changes the calculus tremendously. I wonder if the trailblazers have found something here recently. They're coming off two really good wins. Maybe Charlotte at home pretty handily. Then they went on the road to a Memphis team that had won. I think ten of 11 are ten of 12 games and they beat them as an outright dog. I think there were 9 point dogs in that game and beat them and dame looked like the dame of all. I think he's starting to get used to playing without CJ McCollum. Obviously, McCollum is a piece you want for the blazers, but I think dame is probably starting to take over and say, listen, I got to carry this team on my back. So if he's able to play, I trust dame more than anyone else on that pelicans team. They're just not that good. They only have ten wins this season. So I don't like any time I see them as a favorite in a game. I want to attack that the underdog. But there's a course contingent on game plan if you find out that he's out. You know, do not bet this game, I would just wait, wait, wait and see what happens with dame. And then once you get that news, make the play. Also should mention the sons and the Lakers, Lakers are 7 point dogs at home against the Phoenix Suns, maybe trickling down to 6 and a half. Obviously, there's no Anthony Davis, and they're like, there's a struggle. They just got beat by Chicago at the united center and that Chicago team wasn't exactly full health. We know the sons are just about to welcome back Devin Booker. He just came back. So I kind of like the sun side here. I don't even play the sons or pass. The total's the highest on the board of two 23 and a half. I would probably stay away from that. I think it's a little high considering how good the Phoenix Suns defense is, but the Lakers do like to play fast so that can boost possessions and boost scoring probability. But I would play the under or pass on the two 23 and a half. I do kind of like the sun side, especially if people are going to start betting on the Lakers thinking that number's too high. Lakers should start that good. Right now plain and simple. There's no other way to slice it. So there's a look at the NBA. There is a couple of bowl games. I will just mention no real strong plays here, but we do have two football games this afternoon in the collegiate ranks. UTS is one of the participants against San Diego state in the Frisco bowl, which I think has actually been a good game. San Diego state ranked inside the top 25 UTS was the best team against the spread all year long and there are three point underdog here, so just consider that. They were amazing against the spread this season, and they're catching points. I get San Diego state, are really good football program. And then in the potato bowl, you get Kent State against Wyoming, Wyoming, a three and a half point favorite against Kent State. So I know in my bowl mania picks, I think I have Kent State there. And they may be my dog of the day. They may be my dog of the day. On an early edition of daily wager, by the way, 2 p.m. eastern 11 p.m. 11 a.m. I should say Pacific time.
