"To 81876 800 to 801876. 800 to 81876. That's 800 to 8. 18 76. Alrighty Then. Hello there. Welcome back. You're watching liquid lunch? Yes, it's me. Um, I'm in front of a green screen with a photo of my backyard behind me. This seems to work a lot better than the windows in different lighting and all that other stuff, But, uh, breezing through the first tower here of the money. Thanks for tuning in today, Um every single week and there's a lot going on in the markets. There's so much money being printed. The market's really volatile right now to me, unstable Cryptocurrencies are also seeing the treme a of instability in them. So you know there are many things to be discussed. Obviously, um The most important thing is this. Um for quite some time now, and from the beginning of our days is liquid lunch. An entity We've been joined by my good friend Fernando your eBay. But I can't remember the last time we were joined on his actual birthday and he joins me right now. What's up, buddy? How are you? John. Thank you So much for the warm thoughts into that birthday, my brother. Thank you. A little birdie sent something in my ear. Um, And look, I wish you the best than you and the family. And you're an unbelievable guy. Unbelievable. Philanthropist. Unbelievable television commentators. Well, um podcaster, and I appreciate everything you do for us. I do, brother, Don. It's my pleasure to support you. And the great program. That is liquid lunch, man. Man. We're trying every day and If we guys like me and you stop trying to get the word out, Um, we're only going to go deeper down the rabbit hole to progressivism and socialism, my man, So we're doing God's work If you ask me, But I do want to ask you about not the heavens. But let's go extraterrestrial for a minute. I watched this thing on 60 minutes last night that basically you know, our government is saying Hey, Thanks to Trump declassified some of the stuff By the way, there are unidentified flying objects out there that we've never seen before. We don't know what they are. They're not weather balloons. They're not us. We don't think that China or Russia there. Watching us, Um And Marco Rubio says that this is a threat. I tend to agree with him, John, I'm with you and listen. I watched that I watched some highlights of that segment, and I've seen a lot of stuff on Tucker Carlson recently. He's discussed this at length and you know what? At the end of the day when we're looking at the Department of Defense and what they're declassified in terms of documentation and what other governments have reported to. I think there's something to that. Now. Listen, I'm someone that grew up like many in our audience, watching conspiracy theories watching shows like the X Files and and believing. In in a lot of different notions, But again, there's evidence out there, John when it comes to Declassified documents and video footage to that's out there, not just by the United States government but other governments. Now listen again. I'm not saying that we're expecting you know something along the movie Independence Day, some invasion, but the idea that there isn't life out there in the universe. I think it's a little naive. We're seeing evidence. Empirical evidence, of course, and I were seeing scientific evidence, so it's something to take seriously. I look, I've always been a little bit of a conspiracy theory theorists, but I've always thought, you know there's something out there. Some of the stuff is inexplicable. Um, what it is, It is to me. It's it's God's plan. If they have this super laser that could come zap out New York City in two seconds, then there's nothing we can do about it, You know, so the government should tell us about it. Now on the absurdity of Twitter, and you and I can wax poetic on that for hours. Probably, um, but Francisco Jose Contreras, deputy to Spain's boxed party. I was locked out of his Twitter account for saying a man cannot get pregnant because they have no uterus or X, which sounds like a statement of fact, correct. I mean again for everyone out there that took high school biology and hopefully passed it with all this. And the idea, though, John, that we're seeing what the woke mob is doing our line. And I think also what we're seeing, and I don't mean there's any sort of malicious way. But the alphabet army, right? Um, And while I'm in support of LGBT people, I mean, at the same time there, there's an advocacy within that community that is Chinese or force feed. This narrative that just isn't about science. And isn't it always always share about the left, right? It's about following science, right? Isn't that were here When it comes to masks? They want to follow the science? Sure. When it comes to vaccines, then they don't want you to have your body. Your choice, you know, and when you know, it's like It's forever moving the goalposts on what their true ideological exactly, and it's mind boggling to me. We're now Twitter and again. You know, Dorsey, along with Zuckerberg are saying a really bad precedent. Now, about what you know what is community standards? I mean, looking at that quote again. You know a man can I get pretty because they do not have it. You don't know uterus or eggs. How is that even remotely hateful or even bullying? It's just It's amazing to me that again. I'm not about big government John. But if there was ever a time for Congress to step in and trying to reel in some of these big tech corporations now is the time and it should be a bipartisan effort because at some point conservative speeches being silenced now, at some point, it could be a liberal speech and then You know what? We just want transparency. We're not getting that from these big tech cooperations in case in point, John I've had Facebook since 2000 and eight all only until January of 2021. Have I ever seen a suspension? I've been suspended three times in the first five months of this year, And it just goes to show the absurdity of what is community standards. These oversight boards and John It's dangerous. I mean, speech is under attack here. I'm so with your brother. Believe me, I'm I'm not my stuff is up on YouTube. Um, but they're locked out. I can't upload. You know, you know the deal. So, um, let me ask you this, um The the when he talked about the alphabet my fee before you first of all, I don't like to correct you. But you left a couple off. You gotta go now. The proper things you have to say, LGBTQ. I s It's a new constant in every everyone. That's what I'm saying. You know, it's like wheel of fortune..
Tucker Carlson’s Conspiracy Theory About Jan. 6 Capitol Riot
"You recall this guy. Tucker carlson on fox news. Yeah i think so okay. So tucker carlson. The other came out with a bombshell. He interviewed somebody from was it. Revolver media yes who got their tip from a one alex jones. I believe on this top. Is that right. We know that for sure. Joe alex jones claims but this conspiracy. Or at least as you know and the tip was look at the Indictments of some of the people from january six it refers to often unindicted co conspirators and unindicted co-conspirators can be everybody from the president of the united states. When they're when they're lawyers getting indicted it can be people who were arrested and then decided to give evidence on their friends or their family or their acquaintances or their work colleagues It could also be people who were informants before. Then it's possible. And i suppose it's conceivable that it also could be actual agents of law enforcement. Reason got caught up and we're not indicted for whatever reason but there's a long list of those things and apparently revolver media saw the days and assumed immediately that it was an fbi agent and they went on tucker carlson's show tucker was like the fbi was part of the gen. The planning of the january six. I should say checkers. Say that unindicted co conspirators can't even really be actual fbi agents. They can't actually be fbi agents because they wouldn't get it right. It's not just like oh. She's an array of possibilities here. It's no proposes not. He sang operatives. Which like does it really mean anything. And so you get a little bit of like. Fbi operative is not really means everything and it could have been like an informant or
Fresh update on "tucker carlson" discussed on The Charlie Kirk Show
"You probably saw Darren on Tucker Carlson recently breaking what was probably the biggest story in the country and I can say it probably still is. It's a shocking story, and I want to explore it in great detail. Uninterrupted by any sort of corporate sensors here with Darren Beattie, Darren, Welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show. Great to be here. Thanks for having me So you run a website revolver dot news I visited every day and it's very interesting. It's somewhat of a news aggregator, but also more than that. You guys are breaking your own news. You texted me the story last week and I was doing like 500 different things at once. And you said you had a big thing coming. And so usually people say that it's like, Yeah. Okay, well, you actually had a really big story, and it's somewhat broke the Internet and had tech companies involved and people responding to accusations that didn't exist. Walk us through in detail how you came across the story. What is the story? Because some of our listeners might be doing 100 things at once. They might have heard it and that it wasn't really sure walk us through all of this. So, yeah, this revolver dot news investigated piece just to give people a flavor of the magnitude of this. I've heard from many people. This is the most important And the darkest piece of investigative journalism they've seen in years, and it does explore some extremely disturbing possibilities. But the whole reason I think this is important and that it's worth the risk and it's worth talking about is that the American people really deserved to know the truth. About 16, and we've all heard. I think by now about the case of Ashley Babbitt, who was shot in cold blood by some kind of officer. We still don't have answers to that. This is not just on her behalf. It's not just on behalf of the hundreds Political protesters on January six are now being held in solitary confinement and horrible conditions. Human rights violation level conditions, As has been reported by Julie Kelly has done great work on this. It's not just for them. It's actually for all of us. Charlie's for you. It's for me. It's for the 70 plus million people. Were Trump voters, Trump supporters, or you simply disagree with our corrupt ruling class who have been designated now by our own government as de facto domestic terrorists. And the media apparatus, and the government is using 16 to facilitate that very narrative. And so that's what's at stake in getting to the bottom of 1 60 getting to the truth of 16. And the way this revolver news piece sets up. The question here is, say, the key to unlocking the truth about 16. The following question. Of the major militia groups that the government has imputed to 16 oath Keepers. Proud boys, three percenters. To what degree was their infiltration involved. Secondly, to put it even finer point on it. Of the unindicted persons mentioned in the charging documents related to 162. Those are actually indicted. The people referenced who aren't indicted. Who occupy senior position of said militias. To what extent do they remain unindicted on the basis of a prior relationship with the federal government as either an informant Or an undercover operative and to put it simply, since the establishment has coalesced around this narrative that 16 was a result of an intelligence failure. We had uniquely bad security, and they just had no idea there was a potential for violence. Do we accept the FBI Director Christopher raised position that this was an intelligence failure. Or is the truth more along the lines of what this revolver died? News piece suggests. Which is this actually, an intelligence set up? So you were the first news outlet to kind of say what everyone was sort of suspecting out loud. Can you walk through some of the evidence that you presented in this story at revolver, not news. That caught the attention of Tucker Carlson, and he ran with it. Probably quicker and more forcefully than I bet you even anticipated where the lead with it doubled down on it and triple down on it. Can you walk through the evidence in great detail to some people that are just saying, Oh, this is just another theory. What makes this so different? That's a great question. And right before I get into that, I want to jump on something you mentioned as you set up the question, which is we'd all kind of been thinking about this, but this piece really laid it out and articulates it in extensive detail and with Um, persuasive force. I think that's really goes to show how important it is to have the right narrative and how we can be completely distracted. Just spinning our wheels if we're just a kind of close to the right narrative, But not quite there. As I mentioned, there's been great reporting, exposing the unjust conditions that a lot of the protesters are are now suffering under. There's been a lot of reporting, basically affirming the general truth that many of the people who participated in January said even who went into the Capitol building when the doors were open. We're not domestic terrorists. They were basically tourists taking Selfies. That's been another kind of narrative. And there's been another narrative that a lot of the people who are most egregiously involved that they were anti far leftists or something like this. Um And all of those narratives just didn't really quite catch on. They didn't touch the nerve that this narrative of is it an intel failure or an Intel setup? But once we're over that narrative, you see how the media has absolutely freaked out. And it reinforces the reality here that finding the right narrative pinpointing on just what is the key that unlocks the real truth to this The profound effect and the profound difference that can make, so I just want to point out that census piece came out. The narrative is no longer Oh, they were taking Selfies or it was a bunch of left wing antifa people..

"Producer Edgar Rosenberg. That made it even more shocking when her mother advised a newly divorced Melissa to be as sexually active as she could. You know that's that's what you need to do. People are always shocked to find that I had a very traditional childhood where it was always very clear that what my parents did for a living cept was completely separate. Divorce, not dead as her podcast, she said. I always understood that that who my mother was on stage was not who my mother was offstage. So I think one of the you know it was very traditional upbringing I had so it was shocking to me when I got divorced, But my mother said, you need to be slutty or if you want to get Jeez, what the church and she just said. What you need to, you know, put it out there If you want to have don't so you can stay home and be lonely. Put it out there, her mother said. I don't know. What is it? What is the Oh, you know, given up, there's there's the problem. Gina, your mother say to you, And you would just look at her blankly. No, I don't think I have any yet left. Tucker Carlson. There's a really interesting article about him in The New York Times. It's Tucker Carlson. Calls journalists animals, and he's also their best source. And then the the author of This article goes on to say last month. I text the Tucker Carlson to ask him a question that was on my mind. Did you get vaccinated? Yeah, I would like to know that Welcome, Carlson texted back. When was the last time you had sex with your wife? And what position we can trade intimate details if you want then. We argued back and forth about vaccines, and he ended the conversation with a friendly invitation to return to his show. Always a good time. One question you might be asking, says the writer of this. Why would a New York Times writer be exchanging text with Tucker Carlson, the Fox News host, who recently described the media as Cringing animals who are not worthy of respect your the media Tucker Well, the answer is one of Washington's open secrets. Tucker Carlson spends His time when he is not denouncing liberal media trading gossip with them. He's the go to guy for sometimes unflattering stories about Donald Trump, of course, and for coverage of intern internal politics of Fox News. He likes to gossip. He just He wants to be liked by anybody but the but the deal is That thing he's doing on the T V show is not necessarily Tucker Carlson. He doesn't necessarily believe any of that and see and I disagree. If you watch that John Oliver piece where they go back in time with Tucker Carlson. He's always been a white supremacist. Uh, but they, but this guy says the best place to get really inside. Good gossip is from Tucker Carlson because he likes to interact. Uh, the coronavirus in in, um Brazil is so bad and it's but people are saying the president Mr Bolsonaro is worse than the coronavirus. Uh, the nation of Brazil has passed 500,000 deaths. There's barely a single person in Brazil who hasn't lost a loved one to covid and they blame people blame it on Bolsonaro because he's still As a just Oh, it'll all work out. Attitude is trump about that. Yeah. Uh, let's see. So there was a small plane crash and a Utah woman and her granddaughter were killed in the spot. Small plane crash and and it started a fire in Morgan Canyon. Wow! Family members of N grieving and sharing memories of on social media since they first learned of the crash. The pilot was Virginia. Siegel and her six year old granddaughter, Elsie Laurence. They were in the plane. Alexandria Siegel, who lost her mother and daughter in this accident, said the two were headed for California. To meet with family for Father's Day The plane crashed in Morgan County and started a wildfire there. Um firefighters are battling to new blazes in you winter County and on the or a reservation. Those fires they say are lightning caused. Um, let's see. Uh there quagga mussels are bad. The drought is making the quagga mussels even worse. Those those are aquatic Hitchhikers. Yes, Aquatic Hitchhikers. Uh, so the quagga mussels are spreading to other bodies of water in Utah, and we can joke about it, but They end up choking life out of everything in the in the waters that they infest, and they are not native to Here. I forget where they originally came. Oh, they came from quagga the city of the planet. That sounds like a planet. Yeah. And let's see one other quick story here. We probably one in 10. People are not bothered. This survey says one in 10 are not bothered by finding a strange hair in their food. So nine out of 10. People are these crazy people. They find a hair in their food and they go Wait. This isn't mine, then then that that kind of six of them on but well, one in 10. We'll keep going. Apparently, uh, the the other rest of them. No. Yes, as if you were enjoying a meal, but out in a restaurant, but then found a hair on the plate. That was not yours. Would you stop eating right away? 55% said. Yes. Carry on but be put off, 25% said Yes. Keep eating and not even think about it. 10% would do that. And, uh, me, I'll do it. I would. I would. I would probably just move it aside and still eat, but then never go back. Unless it was a lot.

Fresh "Tucker Carlson" from Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning
"Berman and Michael Riedel in the morning at 7 10. W O R. Well a lot of tension between Tucker Carlson Over there on Fox and Brian Stetler. He's the He's the media correspondent at CNN and Statler was on the other day, saying, How come Fox is not following up on Tucker Carlson's wild and baseless claims that the January 6th capital insurrection? Was an FBI plot step was going on and on and on about this, and Tucker Carlson says, some some pretty disparaging things about Stetler on his show. So you've got these two guys sniping sniping at each other. Now there's an interesting story about Tucker Carlson. You see this in The New York Times, Lynn. I did. So Tucker Carlson, who you know is against the mainstream media, the lame stream media as he would call it, But, of course, Tucker has been around a long, long time. He's got a lot of friends in the mainstream media. And, according to this New York Times report, Tucker actually is one of the big sources for the mainstream media when they're writing about Trump, and when they're writing about Fox. Tucker has leak some stuff to, uh, the lame stream media about Trump and about Fox. So kind of a kind of interesting thing going on there, And this article implies that Tucker is kind of Given a pass on a lot of stuff, maybe not by Brian Stetler, but by others because he's considered a, uh, a gold plated source for a lot of the lame stream media so complicated about you going on. I'm just kind of tired of the whole Fox versus CNN thing. I mean, really, I mean, they go on. So the CNN people go on and on about, though, of having much they hate Fox and Fox. People go on all the time and talk about how much they hate CNN. But what does it matter? Because the people watching Fox agree with the Fox reporters about CNN people who watched CNN agree with the CNN reporters about Fox, so basically They're just preaching to their own choirs. And at some point I'm just tired of it. You know when they start banging on the on the other network, I just lose interest. I think if you're worried about what the other guy is doing, then you're taking your eye off the prize. You should worry about your own house and keep your own house in order and do the best job you can do and stop worrying about the other people. That's my philosophy. I don't know how you felt. Did you sit there at the at the post worrying about what The Daily News guy was writing about Broadway? No, Never never, but I would never have. I would never have attacked the Daily news in any way. I mean, my I agree with you. My job was to get the scoops on Broadway and, uh, if I had a good front page story at the New York Post, that's all I cared about. And I knew the Daily News would be scrambling to try to match the next day and I didn't need to rub salt in their wounds. You know you take the high road. Yeah, Another person who gets get and I've criticized her. Maria Bartiromo. Uh, you know, I wonder what happened to her because she was a really good money reporter. They called him the money, honey, and now she's really you know, she went off to the deep right and supported everything Trump did, which is her prerogative. But I just Anyways, she Was on over the weekend, and she was talking with Ron Johnson. He's a senator who seems to stir up a lot of people on the left with his theories, and and she said, Well, you know, people want to criticize me. Fine. Just just keep at it. We have been telling every story has been on the right side of it. For seven years going. I've been trashed every day along the way. Keep trashing me. I'll keep telling the truth. Alrighty, Maria. You keep telling the truth as you see it, but keep telling the truth. Listen, I've been trashed all I was trashed all over the place when I was, you know, the controversial columnist for The New York Post, and my philosophy was always don't engage. If they're trashing you. It means having an impact. It means you're fucking things. So why would I stoop down to their level and defend myself? I just sail on do my stories get the best stories I can and if they're talking about me, I don't care what they say. They're talking about me. I'm gonna tell you a funny story. You're the one who broke the Faye Dunaway story right about what a diva. She was. And how she got fired. Your buddy Nathan Lane was on Colbert the other night. He just told this hilarious story, and he was talking about the old Ed Sullivan show and how there was a lion tamer on the old Ed Sullivan show, And he said the Lions Hammer had a chair at a whip. Had a gun. And he said, Well, that's how they handle Faye Dunaway. Also back in the eighties, and I thought of you what? I heard the Nathan Lane line. I think it went over a lot of people's heads. But I thought of you, Michael That's great speaking and Nathan Natalie, essentially the email from him. He will come on. But maybe in the beginning the beginning of July, I think, yeah, I spoke I I contact and we're all good. We're working. He's a funny guy. Funny guy. Alright news time From Joe Barlett 8 30. Good morning, Joe. Morning, Michael. Last full day on the campaign trail, the candidates running for mayor of New York City over the weekend, Katherine Garcia and Andrew Yang were campaigning together. Garcia denied. They're trying to cut a deal and take down Eric. Let me be very clear. I'm not co endorsing. We are campaigning together. We are promoting ranked choice voting, he hanging, Garcia say they just want to highlight ranked choice. Voting is how.

But he also signed a law that would ban state facilities, agencies and investments in any business business like banks that decided to cut ties with the oil and gas industry, like refused to lend the money. I don't know that it is a huge problem right now. But I guess it was a being proactive. Don't even talk about handling state of Texas investments if you're going to boycott our battle industry of all in gas production and refineries. Lot of banks are doing that with people who are do business with gun manufacturers to but that was not included in the Texas Bill State Senator John Whitmire, their lawmakers will be back in Austin. They've got a pair of special sessions. To address election integrity, Bail reform and redistricting is up to the governor to call those. He also followed through on his threat, and he vetoed funding for the Texas Legislature. So if they aren't going to work, they're not going to get paid. That was punishment of a sword. But really, it's incentive because they're going to have to come back in special session and now they're going to have to redo their budget. And get that through. Tucker Carlson Ends Interview After Arguing With Guest Who Criticizes Chauvin
"Onto conservatives having meltdowns over justice while americans have been celebrating the derek chauvin verdict and of course he was found guilty of three charges in the murder of george floyd some conservatives are having difficulty in dealing with this news. They don't like this reality tucker. Carlson for example was so distraught with the verdict then he had a complete meltdown when his guest of former new york corrections officer dared to disagree with him. Take a look. I just think that it was excessive. What should and what. I'd like to see guy who did it. Looks like the rest of his life in prison. So i'm kind of more worried about the rest of the country which thanks to police in action. In case you haven't noticed is like boarded up. So that's more mike gavin. Thank you no thank you. that is of the sociopaths. I have more to say but john. Why don't you know. I think he should have the biggest audience. I think it's a good thing that country would out of everyone who does political commentary media. He should have the biggest audience. That madman there. Who freaked out joker style because something that he as an incredibly richmond will never be affected by happened and some people were like kind of temporary relief. That the justice system actually worked for once and he freaked out about that because this guest who he brought on presumably to agree with him about literally everything said that kneeling on someone's neck for eight and a half minutes is excessive which it objectively is. So i don't know how we're supposed to respond to that. The guy sent a reasonable thing and tucker carlson absolutely lost his mind and then cut the guys. Mike
Matt Gaetz denies relationship with a 17-year-old
"A 17 year old girl. Eights tells Fox Is Tucker Carlson Tonight he never had any relationships with underage girls denies being involved in sex trafficking. The person doesn't exist. I have not had a relationship with a 17 year old that is totally false. The allegation is I read it in The New York Times is that I've traveled with some 17 year old in some relationship that is false and records will bear that out to be false. It says The sex charges against him are also on effort to smear his name because he is a well known and outspoken that conservative State Senate committees debating a bill that, if passed, would keep transgender athletes on the sidelines and high school Democrats. Rep. Matt Gaetz Denies Relationship With 17-Year-Old
"News didn't take Matt gauge long to burst out of the gate to deny a New York Times report that Florida Republican congressman is being investigated for having sex with an underaged girl. Gates appeared on Fox is Tucker Carlson Show. It is a horrible allegation, and it is a lie. New York Times is running a story that I have traveled with a 17 year old woman, and that is verifiably false. People can look at my travel records and see that that is not the case. Yates claims that he's being blackmailed by a former justice official who demanded $25 million to buy his
Cancel Culture: Slaying the Fox Monster
"We're going to cancel anybody. We disagree with cancel. Culture now has permeated every single part of our society. Sadly i predict it's only gonna get worse. Silence more dangerous voices. You know sean hannity. Maybe you're onto something in advance of an impeachment trial of ex-president on the grounds of inciting insurrection. There is growing sentiment for the cable. Republican members of congress suddenly lost sources of campaign funds and donald trump himself lost crucial business relationships. Cancel culture sean. Well yeah more or less and so in this hour. We address two questions first. What if fox news were to be neutralized or at least radically ostracized and secondly in a democratic society in which free speech is foundational. Is that an outcome. We really want. Both questions are premised on the belief that whatever fox has been since one thousand nine hundred ninety six launch a megaphone for wedge issues fearmongering lies conspiracy theories culture. Wars has poisoned with sleep. Mutated it's no longer just an argument with the left. It's explicitly a safe space for insurrectionists and all those who imagine themselves under the heel of tyranny tens of millions of americans have no chance there are about to be crushed by the ascendant left. These people needed defender. You need a defender. Why is no one defending them. That was tucker carlson. One day after the storming of the capital which according to angelo kerosone president and ceo of the left leading advocacy group media matters for america exemplifies the channels dark and treacherous turn. They know that a part of their audience especially tucker's with this idea genocide that white culture is in some way being replaced in decayed and they are trying to appeal to that and they're warning them. They're coming for them. It's a political plain and simple. It's now standard operating procedure in the democratic party. Are you or have you ever been a supporter of donald trump on put a scarlet letter tv on supporters. This is a slippery slope. Are people going to say. We're not going to sell you a car. A republicans. we're not gonna. We're not going to issue you a mortgage conservatives. I mean how far does this go. And you listen as the geniuses explain how the single biggest threat to country isn't chinese. Hegemony or even the coming hyperinflation. Pretty much uncertainty now. Which was one hundred percent caused by elite mismanagement of our economy. But no let's not talk about that. The real threat is a forbidden idea. It's something called that's carlson. Dismissing worries about cunanan a cult dedicated to dismantling government filled with pedophile cannibals. Which is something of a departure from historical conservative values of states rights fiscal responsibility a strong military and self reliance because you know cannibals. Everybody's lives i with kobe and all the misinformation and how they influenced the public health response and then in the aftermath of the election. Did fox hole back humbled in jason over. Its own dark power. No just last week. Here was fox news founder. rupert murdoch. Unhinged claims here's one from let's just for the sake of argument except that fox news channel has not only crossed a line but defiantly stayed there and thus the chorus of calls for boycotts by its advertisers and of its advertisers in order to starve the beast in the interest of full disclosure in other spaces. I myself have called for that very thing. This happens to be the work. Kerosone media matters has been undertaking. Four years with mixed success. One of the big efforts was a campaign to get either glenn beck to be less destructive or ultimately fired and that's exactly what happens on the other hand or recently advertisers have sled tucker and laura ingram they have lost about half of their paid commercials they used to have more than thirty commercials show now the average between fourteen and sixteen and even though they've lost money obviously they're still on the network and they
The future of migrant caravans
"More grand caravan is one of those phrases which feels intractable associated with the recently elapsed donald trump era a term which decade sense will like coffee or very stateful genius or four seasons total landscaping separate. Those who can recall this benighted epoch. From those born too late or those who not altogether unreasonably drank too much the migrant caravan. You may recall was one of the vast menagerie of bogeymen and hobgoblins which trump and his media cheerleaders deployed to profitably inflame. The voters and viewers the caravan was telling a marauding horde of insurgents bent on taking your jobs stealing your women perpetrating terrorism proselytizing communism or whatever paranoid fantasy. You were having yourself. The migrant caravan was reason to build that wall. Lock up your daughters stay tuned to fox. Welcome the tucker. Carlson vote republican and generally run around yelping to set by angry wasps. Shortly after having set fire to your own trousers another migrant caravan is on the move now it will be instructive and hopefully at least somewhat heartening to see how the administration of donald trump successor response before we get into that however it's probably proper to be clear about what we mean when we say migrant caravan as outlined above it has been repeatedly slammed up into something other than what it is by various people and organizations whose good faith cannot alas always be taken for granted. Thousands of central american migrants are vowing to continue their march to the us border even though president trump wants to turn them away the migrant caravans about which donald trump became agitated where a phenomenon which pete in late two thousand and eighteen. They were mass trudges of several thousand migrants setting out from central america and plotting doggedly towards the united states where they hope to find safety perchance prosperity. The constituents off the caravans were from honduras. Guatemala nicaragua el salvador and mexico. All countries offering the less fortunate citizens plentiful reasons for leaving political instability gangs crop failure crime drugs poverty etc. The caravan on the move right now is estimated at some eight thousand strong and appears to have originated in the honduran city of san pedro. Soula as off this broadcast. Its chances of reaching its goal. Mexico's border with the united states appears slender early this week. The caravan was intercepted as it crossed. Guatemala guatemalan military and police who detained hundreds of migrants and scattered others with teargas. Nearly a thousand people have already been sent back to honduras and guatemala's chief immigration official modena's has laid down a hardline declaring that you cannot and will not get through president joe. Biden's rhetorical response will be more humane and compassionate the president donald trump's low though that represents but the outcome might not be much different biden's domestic policy advisor. Susan rice has already pointedly given interviews to spanish language media emphasizing that nobody should assume that the us mexico border will be flung. Open on day one. The administration biden previously. Served that of president. Barrack obama deported more than three million people. This latest caravan is obviously not the first large scale migrant and refugee x. flow of times and it won't be the lost. It seems reasonable to assume indeed that any noteworthy disparity in covid nineteen vaccinations between rich countries and poor ones will lead to still further people hitting the road and given what would be reasonable concerns about spreading the virus. Prompt even less compromising responses from destination countries than some. We have already seen what will likely not happen. Regrettably will be the large scale descent of any com- clear-headed logic on the subject in the united states or anywhere else. Those who are furiously against immigration will continue to insist that imigrants ra menace that asylum seekers. Bogus that we should build walls and turn around boats. Those who are passionately in favour of immigration will continue refusing to countenance the idea that countries are entitled to make decisions about who comes and who goes and indeed that it's better that countries do as transparent legal process around migration and asylum lynn's immigrants and refugees va legitimacy they need and deserve and deprives shrieking xenophobes of oxygen as is the case with this and far too many other issues however the loudest voices on both sides will be largely motivated not by their actual opinions on the issue by the visceral loathing of their domestic political opponents and the caravans and the boats will keep coming
Ariel Pink Dropped by Label After Attending Peaceful Trump Rally
"Tucker Carlson last night had a musician on The guy. Is fairly popular musician. His name eludes me now, but it's not enough critical, although I would like to help him out. And He went to the rally. Then went home what went to his hotel to take a map? He never set foot in the U. S. Capitol. But it was it was Publicized because he's a public figure is a musician. Publicized that he was at the rally. And the mob. The real mob came out against the Realty? Yes, Ariel pink. That is correct. And the mob went after the company that pays him. Of their payroll, too. To be musician. And they were attacked and death threats came And they let him go. He has no income. Now he attended a peaceful rally. If you attend a peaceful rally for the right You whatever people conduce to ruin your life to destroy your income and your name they will do. This is unprecedented. Unprecedented. Maybe maybe it was There was a brief period when this was what happened to active Communists. People who supported Stalin. Second greatest mass murderer in history, the first greatest being male. In terms of numbers. Well. Stalin, Hitler.
Conservative media decry Capitol riot, but grievances remain
"What have news agencies that appeal to conservatives been saying about the U. S. capitol right most right leaning commentators and host of made it clear there is no defense for trump supporters to seize the capital stopping the certification of election results and causing lawmakers to run for cover but some of tried to justify the mob's actions Tucker Carlson of fox news channel this one he said the protest is what happens when people lose faith in voting and that opponents have tried to silence trump supporters rather than understand them at it calls in addressing his viewers it's not your fault it's their fault however most of those reports on conservative media there was little talk about how those claims of widespread voter fraud work debunked other reports say the mainstream media focus too much on the capital ride while ignoring violence they said was linked to the black lives matter protests over the summer I'm Oscar wells Gabriel
Misinformation Spread By Anti-Science Groups Endangers COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts
"In some parts of the country. The biggest challenge surrounding the Corona virus vaccine won't be distributing it. It'll be convincing people to take it. Anti science groups and politicians are spreading misinformation about the safety of the new vaccines. NPR's Kirk Siegler reports from Idaho estate with one of the nation's highest immunization opt out rates since the start of the pandemic far right extremist groups of pro tested rules enclosures imposed for public health safety reasons. Sometimes armed, they have openly flouted mask ordinances in the few cities here that have them protesters and Boise, chanting. Let us in outside of Public Health board meeting this month is Idaho dealt with one Of the worst covert outbreaks in the country. In newspaper editorials and on local TV news doctors here are warning this backlash toward medical professionals is worsening in conspiracy theories or spreading. This is the backdrop as the first vaccines arrive in Idaho. Sarah leads is in charge of vaccine distribution in the state. The challenge with dealing with misinformation is that it's very reactive. It's hard to predict what's going to come out next. So the State Health Department is holding weekly meetings on Facebook about the efficacy of vaccines, among other things. And so far, no disruptions Lead says the government carefully crafts messaging, stressing their safety and effectiveness, but it's almost impossible to keep up with social media where anything goes, It's so easy. For anti vaccine groups and individuals to post misinformation and throw a few scientific sounding terms into An article that folks can believe. But this was a common thread in Idaho long before the pandemics, so public health officials here have a lot of practice methods of combating misinformation. Lead says Even the most responsive and innovative education isn't going to change some people's minds. It's those hesitant people who maybe are listening to a family member and Not sure what the data actually is, but are listening to a family member who sounds like a good authority. I think those are the people that we can really impact. But public health officials in conservative states like this say their work is being made even harder by the conflicting signals being sent by President Trump and his allies. Last week, Fox News host Tucker Carlson Sow doubt about the vaccines on his show the night before Vice President Mike Pence was to get his on live TV. Here in the rural Northwest, prominent far right figures on talk radio and Web sites that had already pushed mask protests are pivoting to vaccines. Now the media and politicians would like you to believe that Things will go back to normal if you just simply comply. This is commentator Spirits chorus and a post on readout news. The readout is a loose movement that encourages people to relocate the Idaho in part due to its libertarian vaccination laws. I'd like to clarify right now that I'm not a doctor. I'm not a scientist. Most scientists and doctors are hoping these contrarian voices are a small minority, though they may have an outsized megaphone. And I think it probably is. I'd like to believe that Chris Tramp is a family practice doctor in rural Sabbeth, a Kansas his strategy is to meet people where they are, If they're worried, are skeptical about the vaccine. He says. He tries to get to the bottom of why that is and then give them the best information he can, including that he was one of the first and his small town to get vaccinated against Cove. It 19 1 thing that I'm really going to be preaching to people is kind of a message of you're crazy if you don't take it and what I mean by that is that the vaccine so far is looking so very efficacious. But for now, Dr Tramps says battling misinformation is just one more headache, medical professionals or confronting in this very long, exhausting year.

Dr. Scott Atlas reportedly resigns from coronavirus task force
"Special advisor to president trump on the corona virus. Dr scott atlas has stepped down just days before recipro- reassignment what to set to end on fox's tucker carlson tonight atlas talked about his disagreement with some of the coronavirus task force of reopening schools during the pandemic. Point is that we really need to open up in person schools asap because it's so destructive so harmful to children and there's really nothing more important for a country that i can think of than educating our children. Atlas joined the coronavirus task force though. He had no formal experience in public health or with infectious diseases.
President Donald Trump is making a dangerous claim of voter fraud with scant evidence
"Well since election day. Fox news is largely been lockstep with the president when it comes to claims of widespread voter fraud but some cracks are starting to appear. This is tucker carlson on his show last night saying they had asked trump attorney. Sydney powell for evidence voter fraud. We invited sydney powell on the show. We would have given her the whole hour. We would have given her entire week actually and listened quietly the whole time at rapt attention. That's a big story but you never sent us any evidence. Despite a lot of requests polite requests not a page when we kept pressing. She got angry and told us to stop contacting when we checked with others around the trump campaign people in positions of authority. They told us. Powell is never given them any evidence either nor did she provide any today at the press conference. Powell did say that. Electric voting is dangerous. And she's right with her there but she never demonstrated that he single actual vote was moved illegitimately by software from one candidate to another not one. Why are we telling you this. We're telling you this because it's true in the end that's all that matters the truth so first of all. Electronic voting is not dangerous but setting aside that falsehood. We're seeing the trump campaign getting pushback from tucker carlson. Fox's start to lose some viewers to newsmax and owen for those not up on the conservative media. Sphere explained with those those networks are sure and this really started to happen On election night when fox was One of the first if not defers media organization to call arizona for joe biden and That eventually proved to have been a good call. Although some other media organizations held off for for some days or weeks Because it was very very close But that that was an early harbinger The that fox news at least on some of what was going to be following the facts of the election which rather than a convinced the the president's followers oh well fox has it must be correct. The president has Has been messaging to them. Fox news won't give you the alternative facts that you like you should go elsewhere for them including these other networks that you mentioned newsmax and one america now. They are not as readily available. They are not carried by very many cable. Networks are not available to that many people in their homes But we have seen a very large viewership increases driven by The president's endorsement as he continues to urge his followers. And this is this. Is you know it's the same type of bullying pattern. That i've tally was talking about the president using to intimidate the republican party He's doing the same thing to faulk saying. You know i can hurt your bottom line. I can hurt The things that you care about if you don't go along with With this narrative that i'm trying to construct and so It's been interesting to see you know. In some cases you fox has pushed back very strenuously. they And then in other cases they have not. But you know when you've lost tucker carlson if you're president trump That really ought to tell you something about where where you stand in this fight well. Meanwhile president trump fired the head of us cybersecurity this week. Christopher crabs had publicly refuted the president's baseless claims of election fraud
Millions of Americans genuinely love Donald Trump
"Millions of Americans sincerely love Donald Trump. They love him. In spite of everything they've heard, they love him, often in spite of himself. They're not deluded. They know exactly who Trump is. They love him anyway. They love Donald Trump, because no one else loves them. The country they built the country their ancestors fought for over hundreds of years has left them to die in their unfashionable little towns, mocked and despised by the sneering half wits with finance degrees, but no actual skills who seem to run everything all of a sudden. Whatever Donald Trump's fault he is better than the rest of the people in charge. At least he doesn't hate them for their weakness. That's Tucker Carlson, trying to explain the trump phenomenon. I don't know if he saw the 95 Mile Long Trump parade in Arizona over the weekend, and then that crowd that looked like Pope John Paul. The second had landed in Buenos Aires. It was absolutely incredible. There's never been a politician that has this sort of Ah Base backing similar examples all over America, too. I mean, just astounding. I personally will never love a politician just not in my nature, but that whole You know towns across America that air despised by all the elite. I know I'm from those towns. I know that I know that feeling everybody on TV, whether it's sports stars, musicians, politicians, whoever just, you know. Mock you and thank you. You want to be us? He just can't be that whole crowd out there. That has talked to that way all the time off. They couldn't be more enthusiastic about voting for Trump. Whether that's enough people to show up today and get him over the top. I have no idea. And if he didn't have the personality he had he would win. Oh, yeah, he would win in a landslide. Is the entire media against him? Yes. Was the Russian collusion hoax? Something close to an attempted coup? Yeah. MIA when you consider that Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer knew all along that what they were saying was untrue. All those things are true. But Trump could have won in a walk if he wasn't so, Trumpy, But you know, life is like that being Trumpy is what got him. Worry. Worry is Yeah, it's often difficult to tease out those variables. O all of us have that problem. What my successful because off And what of my successful in spite ofthe right? We're all trying to figure that out. When you die.
Disinformation is Solvable
"We have this ideal of free speech, which is that there's a marketplace of ideas out there that more speeches always better because the good ideas will win out in the end. It's a kind of fundamentally optimistic idea. It comes originally from the political philosopher, John Stewart Mills and his book on Liberty in the nineteenth century, and then it Kinda comes into Supreme Court land in the twentieth century but it often turns out not to be true there various eras in history where propaganda and false ideas have actually won the day in politics you can think about the Nazis you can think about times of Soviet, union communism other nine, thousand, nine, hundred examples of. Fascism and more recent governments in places like Brazil and India, where disinformation has really one out and so I think that we are flirting with that possibility in a scary way in the United States right now the fact is marketplace of ideas was always a pretty shaky concept and so free speech is really important to our democracy but we need I think to reconceptualise how we think about it and how we protect it in a way that really protects the speech that supports democracy instead of threatening it too. So we get our terms clear sale little about how disinformation with a D. differs from misinformation with an m yeah I mean these are sort of. Terms that are only I think the definitions are becoming clearer kind of as we speak but misinformation usually refers to fax that turn out to be wrong and disinformation refers to wrong facts that are being deliberately pedaled for political end. So it's the more sinister version. Disinformation intentional deception often fueled by. Actors of different kinds is sort of crowding out the good information, economics called Gresham's law where you know the bad money the money that's fake gold kind of is circulating everywhere in the real money disappears from the marketplace in a way that something like that happening with information right with is just all of this swirling nonsense depending on where you get your information from and you can't tell what's the good information or if there's any good information in that context way. So one way to think about this is that it used to be hard. To speak, we had gatekeepers, we had these traditional media companies that had a real hold and sort of control over speech. Now, it's really easy to speak, but it's very hard to be heard, and some of what we see in disinformation campaigns is a deliberate effort to drown out true speech or to smear the reputations of people especially online so that they'll effectively be silenced they'll leave the space they won't keep trying to talk, and so it's the use of speech to suppress speech, and that is very challenging for our American First Amendment to deal with. Having you had a really good example in your your piece, which was a me my I hadn't come across that the Democrats were threatening to secede from the country. The election. Just tell that story in brief because it was such a tidy example of sort of you know in the famous like mark. Twain like a lie that God halfway around the world before the truth guidance boots on him and it's just a piece of nonsense spread like wildfire, right? Yeah. So over the summer, a group of academics and former. Administration officials, former campaign staffers, pollsters they got together to game out the twenty twenty election and they played out various scenarios in which one or the other candidate won. It was close there was litigation. There wasn't there basically testing the system of American democracy and Rosa Brooks who was one of the CO organizers of this project wrote an essay in the Washington Post in which you mentioned that in one of the several hypothetical Scenarios Biden won the popular vote Belossi the Electoral College and fictional team Biden talked about trying to ask California and the Pacific northwest threatened to secede as a way of pressuring Republicans to add more succeeds to the Senate there's just a sentence about this in Rosa Brooks's essay Out of that sentence comes an article by Michael Anton- a former trump official and a conservative publication. Arguing that a coup is coming and from that article comes and appearance by another trump official Tucker Carlson show talking about this fictional threat of a democratic coup, very popular right-wing podcast named Dan Bongino. He shows up making videos about this that are getting millions and millions of views on social media president trump tweets in praise of publication called Revolver News, a right-wing website, which is also spreading this false story and what you see here, all the parts of the right wing media ecosystem coming together to really give a big platform to this made up idea that the Democrats are planning a coup.
Free speech and the struggle against misinformation ahead of 2020 election
"Last week, The New York Post published a potentially damaging story about Hunter Biden, son of the Democratic presidential nominee. Based on emails, The Post said, were provided by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and originally harvested from a laptop computer left in a Delaware repair shop. There were enough questions about the authenticity of the emails that most mainstream media declined to publish the story, but it's the kind of content that Khun spread like wildfire on Social media. In a remarkable move Twitter on Wednesday Band users from sharing links to the story because it said the emails may have been hacked and contained private information. It reversed course two days later after Republicans accused Twitter of censorship. But the episode illustrates a question our guest, Emily Bazelon, has been thinking about in an age when questionable, Perhaps even fabricated content can sweep through the digital world unchecked. Does our traditional commitment to unfettered free speech still serve democracy. And the cover story for this week's New York Times Magazine, Basil on surveys the impact that lies and conspiracy theories sometimes promoted by foreign actors can have on our political discourse. And she explores how other countries think differently about free speech and its relationship to a healthy democracy. Emily Bazelon is a graduate of the Yale Law School and a journalist. She's a staff writer for the New York Times Magazine and the Truman Capote fellow for Creative Writing at Yale Law School. She's also the author of two books. She joins us from her home in New Haven, Connecticut. Emily Bazelon welcome back to fresh air. Thanks so much for having me you open your piece with a story that began making the rounds some months back, among right wing voices on the Internet that there was a plan by the forces of Joe Biden to stage a coup to take over the government in connection with the November election. First of all, what was the basis of this claim? Great. So this is ahh concocted claim and the sort of colonel at the center of it was a project called the Transition Integrity Project, a group of about 100 academics and journalists and pollsters and former government officials and former campaign the staff staffers. They started meeting over the summer to kind of game out various scenarios for the November election, and so they were basically testing American democracy in the event that President Trump wins in the event that vice President Biden winds To see in various scenario is what could happen. And in the event, there's a contestant result in a long, nasty count. Yes, exactly especially in the event if there's a contestant result in litigation and other possibilities, and so in one of their several scenarios, Biden wins the popular vote but loses the Electoral College. And so in that hypothetical case they imagined the Democrats would get desperate. And they might consider encouraging California and the Pacific Northwest to threaten to secede in exchange for pressuring Republicans to expand the size of the Senate. So Rosa Brooks, who was one of the organizers of this project, She's a law professor at Georgetown. She published an essay where she mentioned this threat to succeed in one sentence in an essay in The Washington Post. On the next day, you see someone named Michael Anton's, a former national security adviser to President Trump. He has an article called The Coming CU Question. Mark and based on Rosa Brooks is characterization of what the transition integrity project was doing. He starts saying that Democrats are laying the groundwork for a revolution and then you see that article take off in extremist online communities. There is AH podcast maker named Dan Bongino, who's a big trump supporter. He makes videos about it. One of them has the tag. News starts to spin up the idea that Norm Eisen, who participated in the transition Integrity project and is a longtime Democratic lawyer in Washington. That he's at the center of this supposed coup. And from there, Tucker Carlson feature someone talking about this concocted made up story on his show. And then you see it just go viral on social media and get picked up by lots of groups, including, like a county Republican organization in Oregon, So it is Perfect kind of story because it pulls in both traditional media in the form of Fox and also social media. And then you see President Trump get involved. He tweets in praise of Revolver news, and then he tweets quote the November 3rd election result may never be accurately determined, which is what some want. And that's a kind of typical dark, slightly vague, foreboding kind of warning from President Trump that further perpetuates this coup narrative. And then Trump later retreat. Someone talking about a coup with regard to Nancy Pelosi. So you see from this hypothetical project that was really meant to be a kind of academic exercise about the election. This whole sat of conspiracy theories on the right that get a lot of play in the media on social media, and then from the president

"The left despises Donald Trump war. Could the problem be as is so often? The case it's tells the truth. Truth is the real threat to their power. What is he a pundit? Is He a host? Is He a journalist? Is He a commentator? Is he a comedian I would say he's just a liar. But, whenever you? Say Tokyo Carlson. Did this is wrong? BLAH BLAH BLAH! You'll get all supporters like he's an opinion host. You Idiot you loser. And my response is that as long as the bug in the corner of the screen, says Fox News. He must be held to a journalistic standard of accountability. If they want to take Fox News off the screen and call it Tucker time. They can do that, but as far as long as news stays on the screen. My My governing sort of standard is that they are working journalists, and yes, journalism encompasses opinion and straight news. Okay, that's the way it works at the Washington Post, the way of worse vox, that's. That's the way it works everywhere, but I think that they should be constrained by the facts I think that opinion journalists must be constrained by and decency to and I think that in both of those cases Tucker. Carlson runs afoul of those particular standards I think the difference between what we do here. Vox, and and what the post does in its opinion columns. Is that we maybe don't have so much of an agenda a prevailing ideology that we're trying to advance, whereas when you watch Tucker, Carlson, or a lot of the quote, unquote opinion programming on Fox News. There is clearly an agenda and that agenda as of late seems to be get donald trump reelected at all costs. Yes, I think there's a difference between a political orientation or worldview and agenda-driven worked, and the thing about it is to bring it back to Tucker Carlson. He does this form of political agitprop, this form of political propaganda more cannily more savelly than anybody else in right wing media. He takes something that Donald Trump does. He doesn't examine the depravity of what trump did. He doesn't say this is absolutely insane. which it clearly is on face and I give you. Millions of examples were constantly writing about them. What he does is he takes the liberal reaction to it. And he finds instances where liberals have overreacted and. For every trump action, there is someone on the left to overreact I. Happen to think that's pretty reasonable. Given the sort of things that have happened, but you know fair enough, and he always says I'm not defending Donald Trump here. or He says I'm not defending Rudy Giuliani. Defending Putin, just pointing out the obvious. I'm just saying that the left is a bigger threat to America. This brilliant brilliant way of taking scandals that trump has spun up. and. Moving. The is the attention of millions of people distractive element on the left. And convincing them that TAT's the real threat to America. Every really is a brilliant way to construct propaganda. My I've also realized that we got Tucker Carlson coming up Tekere Carlson can't say that. Because he did even though he grew up without his mom. He grew up with privilege and most people are many people that are in that position have that sort of guilt of the past. I don't have any of that. So I just say dumb things that that anger everybody. All right. Let's do one more. Right. Well, just because you're married, even if you're super super happily married doesn't mean you should give up your friendships a new study out of the university of Texas found that when couples had issues in their relationships having friends to turn to makes a big difference in your health who are the people that choose to go through life without friends. I'm so I find it fascinating. Like, I realize like. My dad, my mom really don't have friends per se. Are they didn't some a little bit? And this and that, but not really I had friends man because I needed my friends to survive in need to eat at their house. Sweep over. Yeah. Emotionally, I'd spent a lot of time with them. It's exactly what you said. Yeah. I walk into my kid's room. And I go this an awesome day, right, man. This is exciting. I'm so I'll say to my kids all time. Look, I pointing arguments with my wife, but when I talked to my son, or my my daughter, I go who would you rather have for mommy mom in the world. That's how could you have a better. Mom. You couldn't have a better. Mom, you know, how into you. She is is crazy. She's the best mom in the world. I mean, I was talking to my son last night. I said I guess who's coming by the shop tomorrow coup Tucker Carlson, he's Tucker Carlson. What time coming by like eleven thirty. It's just fake it whatever's going on in your head whatever scars you have scar tissue have or demons in your past. I mean the. The mom literally moving out of the country checks as it is potentially psychologically, devastating as you can as as apparent interaction can be and actually on a much greater scale than dying in a car accident. We all hear the story of my mom died in a car accident when I was six died of breast cancer. And everyone goes, oh, my my heart pours out, you, psychologically, I'm leaving in going to another country, and I'll stay there, and I'll be alive. I'll have no contact with you is much more damaging potentially on a psychological level yet you chose to put your head down and move forward. Now raise in. I mean, she was. I'm leaving out shoes. Really crazy. Let me just put it that. Right. Like, so crazy that my brother, and I we never talk about it. But we were talking about it this weekend because of some unbelievable messing that she left behind legally which were still dealing with seven years later. Like, I said to my brother, really only she would do this. You know, she didn't raise us. She was horrible. And then she dies and causes us all these problems because it's just perfect. She's a bitch from the grave, but we always say to each other to this day. How grateful we are that we didn't have to grow up with her which is so thankful he has, you know. So we look at it as like a real bussing in my dad, and my step mom and just like the best people ever. And so I just feel really blessed in that way. But I mean, she was like doing real drugs around us when we're little and getting us to do it and just like being a nutcase full-blown nutcase last question. So I had this notion Tucker. And we'll see how this works. And then you tell me what you think, but I have this thing in life, which is I'm very friendly with you and I'm friendly with Dennis Prager. And I'm friendly, which immi Kimmel, and I'm friendly with many people with many different political opinions, and my take on these guys are all good people, and they have great. They're great family people that you'd love you'd love Jimmy Kimmel to be your neighbor. And you'd love Dennis Prager to be your neighbor is well, not so much Tucker because when angry mob show, so. You have to shut the light to pretend you're not home. It's my neighbors do that. But my thing is I would you would be happy as hell to share a drink a beer, which IMI Kimmel or cigar with Dennis Prager. If there was a laundry list of boxes to check that were fifty long would each check the same forty four boxes and there'd be about six of them that might differ. But all the other ones would be checked. Why this chasm, and it's sort of I understand we have bad wiring civilization sometimes and there's a mob mentality. But my thought when Tucker Carlson was coming in here today was I know Tucker Carlson is a really sweet guy. And then I hear what people claim you are. "Right. They're doing it. It's tough. I love the point ride result makes his point a lot. When he's doing this weekly podcast with Bill where he says, we shouldn't romanticize every single time in NBA player speaks out. Not every time. Somebody speaks out. And complains is, you know, this show of power that we as a media should remain to size. I totally agree with it. I would just say the corollary to that is we shouldn't romanticize every time a GM makes a trade that tears A-Team apart as brilliant move, just automatically. Well, that's a great. You know, who cares about the feelings of the people? It's it was a great tactical move. We should romanticize that either in this goes both ways. And that goes about what I'm saying about the way we talk about players, you know, in talk about GM, sorry, David topic number three Tucker Carlson doesn't need any help falling backward off, the high dive. But last week the watchdogs over at media matters. Unearth audio clips the Carlson made between two thousand six and two thousand eleven on the Bubba the love sponge show. Now you and I listen to Howard Stern back in the day. But I feel Bubba is part of this tier of edgy. And I'm making giant air quotes here morning radio along with Opie and Anthony and Mankato that I never actually. Heard all I heard about was the controversy that was generated by the show. It was just it was just like it was like an AP story in the newspaper. And I think what what is opioid Anthony. I don't know what that is. Carlson made comments about African Americans immigrants in in this particular clip. The Iraqi people Iraq is a crappy place filled with a bunch of, you know, semi literate keeping, but I have zero sympathy for them or their culture a culture where people just don't use toilet paper forks. Women. You know, I agree with you there their culture is, but you're in their homeland, and you're over there as an American who they hate and they want nothing more than the Americans off their soil. So they're not gonna play. I mean, I they mean, can they shut can just the. shut the fuck up and obeys. My view is that I'm sorry. Is that is that Bubba actually bring around to women's rights in Ducker is just going back to the slurs dynamic in that clip. I gave I'm not even sure that was Bubba. But you at your word what above us pals. So I think we could do this quickly. Because this to me is an example of where a semi respectable. And I am making air quotes. Once again around the word semi semi respectable person goes on a morning radio show and tries to hang with the host. And they get in trouble because they soon learn that whatever the host is doing is not okay outside the confines of the morning radio show. Do you agree? Yes. Okay. And of segment. No. I'm the most the posted, Dory's example. I founded this. I'm sure there are so many. I mean, Don, everything Donald Trump said on the stern show would probably qualify. Yeah. This one nine hundred ninety five US Senator US Senator Alfonse D'amoto go. On Don Imus show and made fun of Judge Ito has the most nineties thing you ever heard. Yeah. That's great is the New York Times put it Mr. D'amoto sharply criticized and belittle Judge Lance Ito and used an exaggerated Asian accent like that a villainous Japanese characters and old World War Two movies.
