Fresh update on "trump " discussed on Mentally Yours

"To do with that knowledge? Confront yourself. And have that clarity and come closeness with your own inner workings. It depends, I know that's an irritating response to any question. But sometimes it means making a choice and can be strategic about it in your life in a concrete way. And sometimes you don't have to do anything. Sometimes it's just having insights. So if you discover that actually, you really, you really want to feel loved and you're in a relationship. That in some ways isn't as loving as you would like. Sometimes that might mean that you end the relationship, sometimes it might mean just sitting with the disappointment and kind of getting more comfortable with it and having that clarity. Once the mental health impact of not having these wants and desires met, I think it's really consoling. I think it's quite paradoxical in a way. It's really consoling and comforting when you realize that you're never going to have everything you want. I mean, once you give up the fantasy that that's possible, it's actually a relief because there's a lot less pressure and you can actually see what is possible and you can make adjustments and you can have experiences and you can kind of lift yourself out of the mud, but we get really stuck with some sense of enoughness and some expectation of fulfillment, which I think is a huge burden. So a lot of people are really freaked out by desire and they think that if they face themselves like vico there because it might be disappointing and that's one of the reasons we often don't ask ourselves what we really want because it's vulnerable and it's exposing and it'll be such an embarrassing failure when we go for something and it doesn't happen, but I think being able to survive things not going your way. I mean, first of all, it's inevitable. But second of all, I think that it's actually quite conf bolstering and galvanizing when you are undaunted by whatever it is you can't have like when you can accept those defeats and accept limitations and impossibilities. What about, I think some of the stories in your book kind of explore people wanting things and pursuing that want that just, it isn't making them happy or they may be doing things that aren't healthy, I'm talking more about kind of addiction and use of alcohol and drugs, those kind of things. How do you kind of approach that when you're once and desires aren't making you happy or bring you happiness? Is it about changing or denying those desires or is there a different approach that you can take? Well, so that's where I think it can be really helpful to look at the difficult subjects of desire and put it out there. So if I feel like a client is avoiding an issue and kind of pretending to watch something or not want something and just going around an issue, I will say it and I think that therapy is a place for really looking at issues that are kind of uncomfortable and unsightly and possibly even shattering, but avoiding those issues is so repetitious and so full of stuckness and I think that has to be normalized as well because most of us are in flight and self avoidant in various ways. But I think that it's a huge relief when we can call each other out in a kind way. And be demanding in that sense. I think therapy should also be demanding. I don't think it should just tolerate more delusions and ways of avoiding, so sometimes it's quite a kind of not combative zone, but it's quite high octane. That's really interesting because it sounds like the sort of therapy that you practice is very different to other types because I mean I'm just thinking this sort of types that I've had in a lot of it just seems to be you talk and talk and talk and you don't necessarily get anything back. Whereas it really does sound like you're kind of you are getting stuff back because your therapist is saying well what about this? A lot of the time. I mean, I know there's other types where it's very sort of structured things like CBT and other ones like that. Is there a particular name for the kind of therapy that you practice or anything else we should know about it? I work relationally, but I think actually just being able to say, being able to speak freely, going both ways, being able to say things that are difficult to say and not feeling overly censored and having that intimacy emotionally is expansive and liberating and it's such a relief to not have to kind of go through the polite platitudes that we have elsewhere. You've always been exploring psychotherapy for quite some time now. What if you learned from speaking with so many people about these really quite deep topics? I mean, I feel like a lot of these issues just emerge over time in different ways because in a way we give our own secrets away. So when we pretend not to want something like a classic a classic desire that a lot of us pretend not to have as wanting power. So even if we can are okay with it as children. A lot of emotions and desires were more comfortable with as children, but wanting power is so kind of squeamish making and I will encounter one person after another who can describes rivalries and small acts of protest and kind of avoidance and devour of different dynamics and there's a lot of there are a lot of clues to what is being denied and sometimes if I just say something like is a power that you want. At first it might kind of feel unbearable or be denied again, but then it's just it's considering something that has been somehow censored somehow kind of pushed away. I think people imagine that if you say, oh, you want power. It's someone like Donald Trump wanting to take over the world. I totally a lot of it is that odds with this sentence we have of how we're supposed to be. And I think we're socialized that way from a young age. I mean, especially in this culture where being circumspect is, I mean, I don't want to now overstate this one, but being circumspect is kind of the norm. So with a toddler, it's okay to say I want milk, but it's not cute after three or four. It starts to kind of make us wins to hear it to say it and we go around desire and it's somehow too much to be direct, but then we start playing games. If it was very uncomfortable is why I think to just ask for what we want or even state that we do want something, how do we start

Rep. Troy Nehls' Message to Apathetic Voters

"Question to you, congressman. What is your message to those who say, after 2016, that's it. We're done. I'm not voting. They stole it and they're going to steal it again. I'm getting out of politics. What's your message? I think the message is very important and very clear. We saw what we had under Donald Trump four years of just great leadership, holding our adversaries in check with China and Putin. And now we have nothing but a spineless president and look at inflation gas prices. We have a crisis at every corner. Donald Trump, I thought did a very good job handling COVID. So we need to get back to that Donald Trump leadership. And he can say this country. He truly can. And you need to get out there and vote in November of 2024. You need to get behind the party. The party needs to get and united behind one individual. And the only individual right now that can save this country and my opinion is Donald J Trump.

Fresh update on "trump " discussed on This Week

"Time we get more results from the primaries, we get a better education of what the very important coming midterms might look like in November. And for more, let's head to our Bloomberg 99 one newsroom at Washington and Amy Morris. Amy. All right, thank you, John. We have all heard how important the coming midterms are, and that they're expected to be make or break for Republicans and Democrats alike, as they all fight over majorities in the House and the Senate. That could be key for the Biden presidency. For now we are deep into primary season, so let's take a look at how those races are shaping up. Bloomberg congressional reporter Billy house joins me now, Billy. Want to get an idea of some of the things that really stood out for you. It does look like former president Donald Trump had some pretty strong successes in Tuesday's primary last week. Well, he did. And in fact, in some governors races and some down ballot races in Arizona in particular, but he also one of his candidates is endorsed candidates knocked off another Trump impeaching Republican Peter Meyer in Michigan House member. And so that brings the death count to those two voted to impeach him to 5 with Liz Cheney, probably going to be the 6th next month. But yes, smorgasbord, Trump had some losses, but he had a lot of wins. Now I want to get into the Liz Cheney stuff in just a bit, but first let me ask you about the primaries. I got to say, whenever I look at these stories and when I read the stories and I look into the issues behind the primaries, I see that yard stick, whether this candidate is Trump backed or not. Is that where we are now, is that the unit of measure will be using for a while is whether this candidate has Trump's support. I think it will be at least through these midterms. That's for sure. We know that privately House minority leader GOP or Kevin McCarthy has asked Trump not to announce its own candidacy until after then. But he certainly still a player whether Republicans across the country wanted to or not. And including some key races where he's very visible and winning. Blake masters, for instance, in Arizona, the Senate race captured his endorsement and then one last week. The primary. Who knows if some of these Trump back candidates would win their general elections, it could continue, obviously. All right, so Kansas voters rejected a bid to change the constitution to limit abortion rights and national democratic strategist Paul McGowan. You probably saw that tweeted that the results are a political earthquake. How so? What does that indicate for you? Well, the biggest thing that left out at me with regard to that was the turnout. This issue with Republicans did not want to be a catalyst for democratic turnout was exactly that in Kansas. The turnout there was way over 800,000 on this issue alone. And that exceeded some general election numbers. So hopes by the GOP that maybe Democrats would despite all their saying so otherwise would sleep on this issue apparently are not going to at least they didn't in Kansas. So how worried are Republicans then that maybe they've been too extreme on abortion or is that even a concern? Are they sticking to their guns? They are, but I will note that some Republicans, for instance, Liz Cheney skipped two key abortion votes two weeks ago, just didn't show up for him, though she was in town. So it clearly is an issue that they're concerned about. Republicans to their right to the far right, of course, are rock solid on that. But those Republicans in swing districts are facing moderate or independent challenges are really worried about it. Okay, so let's talk about Liz Cheney for just a bit, traditional Republican, deep red state, walk us through her primary and what she's facing. One thing we know, she's decidedly not Trump backed. She's not. And she's, in fact, has become for the nation, the arch Trump nemesis, and that is caused her lots of problems with their own party in Wyoming, which by 70% supported Trump and 20 20. So Liz Cheney is going against the party at her own party in her own state and another Republican Harriet hagman has got the endorsement and it's a tough tough battle for Liz Cheney to get reelected. She has tried to appeal to independence and even asked Democrats in some flyers to consider temporarily switching their party and voting in the primary for her, but what's lost in that is Liz Cheney still maintains her very conservative positions on national security abortion and so that Democrat looking at her entire record, not just that their admiring of her for taking on Trump might still have a hesitancy to back her. You know, that's interesting. Let me just throw something at you for a second, Billy. What we have seen in past primaries, and I'm thinking specifically in Virginia, the race for governor in Virginia. What we've seen is Republicans read meat Republicans sort of having to walk that tight rope so that they can get the moderate Republican vote while also courting the favor of the former president. President Trump. And now what we're seeing with Liz Cheney is a little bit of the flip side of that coin, she needs to walk that line so she can court the favor of perhaps more conservative Democrats or more moderate Democrats while still getting a Republican vote. Maybe explaining why she sat out two of the votes for on abortion on Capitol Hill. Absolutely. And her case is really kind of desperate because they're really simply aren't that many independents and Democrats in the state, not enough to make up for her, what the polls show us are real loss of Republican support. But you're right, more generally, that is why we're seeing in some places nationally and it could come back to bite them, but democratic political apparatus giving money to far right Republican democratic governors association and others Republican candidates with the hope that they win their primaries and then become unelectable against

Rep. Troy Nehls Shares His Suggestions for After the Midterms

"An idea before we came on air what we should do as conservatives after the midterms, what was your suggestion? My suggestion is that we have to make a big splash in the first two years. The American people are going to give us the gavel in the house. We are going to have the speaker. So we must take care of that gavel. Years previous. You know, we've had the gavel. We had both chambers. We had Donald Trump. And what did Paul Ryan do? Yes, we got the tax cuts and job deck, but we did nothing to secure the southern border. Now the American people are paying for it. So I think it's incumbent upon lunar McCarthy to make sure that we can rein in this out of control spending, take care of the gavel and make sure that we focus on 2024. This is about 2024 right now. How have we done enough to clean up what happened in 20 20 to make sure that 2024 is in stolen? Well, I think that a lot more attention, the states are given a lot more attention to this specifically the state of Texas. I think that the Democrats aren't going to have COVID and don't bring me this monkeypox story to all of a sudden declare another national emergency where you can see then these liberal mayors and governors and county clerks and stuff all of a sudden change the rules to the voting. And that's what you saw in 2020 all in the name of COVID. So I'm hoping that these individual states have tightened up the rules and made sure that we have voter integrity. Because without it, we don't have a country.

Andy Ogles: We're Going to See a New Contract With America

"Are sick and tired of the Liz Cheney of the world and maybe she'll get her comeuppance in the next week or two, but do you see the right kind of Republicans winning primaries around the country? Obviously you're one of them. Well, you know, the freedom caucus has been fairly aggressive, recruiting candidates to run to increase the numbers. And so that's how I connected with them. They saw this as an opportunity. They looked at the field. I was clearly the one that most fit the freedom caucus mold. And so they set me down. They interviewed me and clearly, you know, they very quickly endorsed me. But yeah, I think there's a huge opportunity here to steer this ship and get us back on track. And it's not going to matter whether you're a freedom caucus congressman or just more of the quote unquote conservative congressman. We have to fix things. And this is based off of that. It's based off of economic and it's not partisan. It just map and I think that's going to cut through a lot of the noise. I think you're going to see a new contract with America in this next Congress. It's going to, you know, it's humbling to know that as we move forward in 2022 and obviously I got to fight. I've got to fight. I've got to win in November. But that being said to be a part of this next contract with America where we get America back on track and we move forward with the Trump's policies and making America first again.

Andy Ogles: Earning the Edorsement of Trace Adkins

"You've been endorsed by the freedom caucus. I know that Jim Jordan, Scott Perry, who's the chairman of the freedom caucus, Mark Meadows, who helped found it, who was Donald Trump's chief of staff. They've all weighed in already. They're all already helping. You've also been endorsed, I think in one of the, one of the cooler endorsement trace Atkins who doesn't get involved politically a lot, but he stepped up. How did you get trace involved? Well, you know, and we also can't leave out senator Ted Cruz. I mean, here at the end, when we felt that the race might be tightening a little bit, he without hesitation jumped in. He said, look, I need a fighter. We need more fighters like you up here in Congress and it would be an honor to endorse you. And so, but trace Atkins really goes back to COVID. You know, I refuse to comply with the mandates. I refuse to shut my community down. You know, the way I looked at it is if you're a single mom with two kids, your job was essential. If you're a small business owner, you're leasing your savings, your lives on the line, your business is essential and how dare the government. How dare the government tell you that you need to shut down. And so I refuse to comply with any of that nonsense. And because of that, trace had reached out just as a thank you gesture to say, hey, you want to go have dinner. And we started connecting and we had a concert. That first year of COVID, on the square, had over 35,000 people there. Because for me, it was about finding a solution. Look, COVID is real. I had a good friend that died from it, but I was unwilling to just cower and hide under my desk. We had to find a way through it. And that was by trusting people to make good decisions for themselves and not relying on the government to run our lives. Well,

"Had Kansas and Missouri Arkansas having battles, Missouri. We saw Eric Schmidt, the attorney general over there when the nomination in the battle of Eric's Donald Trump chiming in with an endorsement of Eric with two candidates having the same first name, Eric Schmidt ended up getting the win and will face off to try and make sure the Missouri Senate race stays in Republican hands and then down in Arizona. Carrie Lake finally gets the final nod that she's the winner in Arizona. Maricopa County, Phoenix that screwed up the 2020 election has done no progress in getting any further along at being able to actually count votes and get through an election process. You know, you've got other countries where they can literally hand count ballots and they can do it in 24 hours. Maricopa County can't even get it done in a few days and they had chaos, they had confusion, like we saw in 2020, despite all the denials that there was any election problems in Arizona that it didn't get stolen from Trump, but a big week there, and then in Tennessee, where we're broadcasting from in Memphis, Andy ogles wins the Republican primary in the Tennessee 5th congressional district. Last night, as Republicans redrew that district in Tennessee, it's been a 9 congressional district state for a while. Traditionally, you've had 7 Republicans to Democrats in recent years. Well, with redistricting, Republicans redrew the lines in Nashville, dividing Nashville up, adding some of the suburban counties to it. Noel Casler Explains How Trump Corrupts Everyone in His Orbit

"People famously know that you worked on the apprentice with Donald Trump and, you know, started talking quite openly about a lot of things about him a long time ago, but you said what you're seeing from Trump's vast tentacles of corruption. Toadies on loan from Doug ducey acting sicko fans, you just said it should be very illuminating for those who wonder how Trump got away with so many crimes in his New York City days because people from New York are like, he's always been a crook. We've known that from day one, right? And you look right up through what's happening right now. You're like, oh, of course, he has somehow loyalists and people that are destroying evidence and God knows what, right? Absolutely. He's always had a skill, a 6th sense to attract men and some women around him that he could corrupt. You know, he can look into a crowd and see the kind of guys that are going to do his bidding. The dogs that hunt, so to speak. And that's what his security team was. You know, keep schiller was an NYPD sergeant rammer, who would knock down doors of drug dense in The Bronx, you know? He was the guy who knocked the door down. He went up to Trump in court and said, you need to hire me, right? And Trump hired him. And then when you're walking around with a detail of X NYPD cops, you get away with stuff in New York City, right? Because it's an impenetrable sort of wall of authority. And Trump knows that. And you know, we could probably get into it, but the Secret Service stuff seems very, I worked with a Secret Service ton tons. I did inaugurations. I did the tree lighting at The White House, all kinds of stuff, where the president was at. The Secret Service under Trump was a different Secret Service. You know, and I went to high school with Bobby engel, the guy he tried to choke in the back of the SUV, and he was like a marine kind of jarhead cop type. And that's the type that Trump will suck in. And it's almost like before they know it, they're doing his bidding. Do you know what I mean? Who is the guy? They all set out with the intention of being corrupted, but being in Trump's orbit will corrupt you by osmosis.

There's literally a patch of dirt and a paving stone with her name on it. For a tax break, it's so Donald Trump, isn't it? Right. It's ridiculous. It's ridiculous. And when he applied for the permit to have the cemetery on his golf course, for his tombstone, he wants a 16 foot high obelisk. And that became contentious at the permit meeting in the town of bedminster. I'm not even joking, right? So do you think Donald Trump would be satisfied with a paving stone with his name card? Liz Liz Cheney isn't going to stop Trump from another run at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue because her little kangaroo court select committee can't find anything that warns a criminal indictment. Second, she's going to lose her primary. Wyoming conservatives had enough of her anti Trump shenanigans. We have a strong candidate in Harriet hagman. Liz's days are numbered, and this cringe worthy ad from Dick Cheney might have cost her votes.

Twitter Unleashes Criticism on Dick Cheney Following Ad Spot

"And as media writes, the blue check mark crowd in Twitter, people from all political backgrounds, unleashed a torrent of criticism against him. His infamous 2006 hunting accident where he shot a guy in the face was prominent in the minds of many, one blue checkmark said, fun fact, Dick Cheney is also a liar. He's a murderer who killed hundreds of thousands of people for oil and defense contracts F him F his wretched daughter and F Trump they can all rot in hell. Dan Caldwell tweeted Dick Cheney as VP was the chief advocate of the disastrous war in Iraq that killed up to a million people. He should have no standing to accuse anyone of being a threat to our republic. Dick Cheney looks ready to shoot Trump in the face with a mother load of birdshot. The thing I thought about when I saw the video was the hit TV series Yellowstone. It's like Yellowstone season 5. Starring Dick Cheney.

"Because he confirms what we knew. Her goal. Her driving raging goal has been, in his words, to prevent Donald Trump from ever coming near the Oval Office again. Do you understand what that means in a constitutional republic? Where the people get to decide? They are spitting all over the millions and millions of voters who get to make that decision. The January 6th committee doesn't get to make that decision. Liz Cheney doesn't get to make that decision, Dick Cheney doesn't get to make that decision. We do. We do. And I don't know that I've ever seen. A more tragic downfall of a prominent political dynasty like this one.

Dick Cheney: Donald Trump Is the ‘Greatest Threat to Our Republic’

"It's really tragic. This is a tragedy. This isn't just political fodder. This is a tragedy. Here's the spot that was taped by Dick Cheney for his embattled daughter, congresswoman Liz Cheney. And our nation's 246 year history. There has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He is a coward, a real man wouldn't lie to his supporters. He lost his election and he lost big. I know it. He knows it and deep down. I think most Republicans know it. Len and I are so proud of Liz for standing up for the truth. Doing what's right, honoring her oath to the constitution when so many in our party are too scared to do so. Liz is fearless. She never backs down from the fight. There is nothing more important she will ever do than lead the effort to make sure Donald Trump is never again near the Oval Office. And she will succeed. I am Dick Cheney. I proudly voted for my daughter. I hope you will, too. I'm Liz Cheney, and I approved this message.

Chris Miller Lied on Fox News and It's a Crime Says Glenn Kirschner

"Speaking of this whole theme of lying is that we're looking at in the Alex Jones trial, so Chris Miller goes on Fox News and lies. That oh, Trump ordered, you know, 10,000 National Guard troops under oath has to say, you know, like Alex Jones had to say, sandy hook was real. Like, no, he did not order. You know, national lied to the American people on Fox entertainment. I don't call them Fox News. That is actually part of a criminal cover up. That's chargeable as a crime. I'm appreciative that he told the truth under oath before the J 6 committee. But when you lie to the American people trying to cover up Donald Trump's crimes, you're committing your own crime of accessory after the fact that miss prison of a felony. So keep it up sports. I'm so happy to hear you say that because how many times have we heard, well, it's not a crime to lie on Fox News, otherwise they wouldn't have a network. I mean, it should be. It can be a crime. Glenn Kirschner Breaks Down the Data on Trump's Impending Indictment

"Obviously the hubris in this reporting, the Trump is, oh, I'm not concerned witch hunt. It'll be fine. But I mean, this is obviously we know from the two pat subpoenas this week that this has reached into the Oval Office, and obviously there is reporting that Trump's attorneys are counseling him that he may be indicted. So what do you take from all of this? From the latest recording. Three, really important data points, staff one. We saw the Rolling Stone reporting that Donald Trump's legal team is preparing for him to be indicted and this is what I love. This is why Donald Trump's legal team is like the worst legal team imaginable. Except for Alex Jones. Yeah, the good point. They're saying, we are preparing a defense that will be putting it on quote the fall guys. What did we see a couple of days later in last night's CNN reporting? Donald Trump has been counseled to cut off all contact with and not talk to Mark Meadows. The only reasonable inference we can draw from that is Meadows is flipping, right? Maybe he has flipped, maybe he hasn't flipped. That's what you counsel somebody when it comes to, you know, one of your buddies who is now cooperating with the feds do not talk to him anymore. And then the third data point is the pat cipollone subpoena to the grand jury and Steph all testimony is not created equal. Because the J 6 testimony that pat cipollone gave, we all saw it. Some of it on videotape, he wouldn't answer the big questions. He wouldn't talk about what Donald Trump said or did. He wouldn't talk about Trump's crimes. He gets away with that in the January 6th committee because they don't have a way to compel him. They can't test that privilege once he asserts it. When we get witnesses in the grand jury, we can test that privilege. We can overcome it in real time because when pat cipollone and the grand jury says executive privilege, I've done this a hundred times, not with executive privilege, but with attorney client privilege. Fifth Amendment privilege against self incrimination, spousal privilege. Doctor patient privilege, et cetera we walk over to chief judge barrel howells, chambers, the chief judge of the D.C. federal district court who has supervisory authority over the grand jury, and we litigate it in real time, and she rules, I predict, Joe Biden has an invoked the privilege, so you lose because Donald Trump doesn't get to invoke it. And there's a crime fraud exception. So belt and suspenders, you lose twice. Now, pat cipollone, go back in there and testify

This guy is a disgrace not just as a president net just as a leader, not just as a politician but as a human being. This example alone tells you everything you need to know about the character intention and focus of trump. And it's for this reason is expected that incoming presidents divest themselves of their outside businesses. And do you remember the Hissy fit he through when he was asked to do? So it's the same hissy fit he's been throwing about disclosing his tax returns and currently the Inspector General has opened an investigation as to why trump stopped the ten year FBI relocation plans like I said, trump stands for bankruptcy this guy's only in it for himself. For those of you who have not voted yet, please encourage you to make a plan of when and how you're going to do that. So it actually gets done. It is really important that has many people vote as possible, not just to be part of our democratic process. But also from my perspective I'm hoping that these votes Gopher Biden and I'm hoping that if anyone listening here is on the fence or one of the undecided that I've been able to sway you to vote for Biden. Yes I understand that from some people's perspectives, they're just you know what great to rich. Old, white guys that from their perspective don't really give a crap about us either way it's a toss up, do even bother wasting my time voting. Yes you should because although you may not agree with all of the plans and agendas and programs. What you have to do is put yourself behind leadership that has the correct intention that wants to help nobody makes all the right decisions. Nobody has a complete plan up front from beginning to end no organization. No business nothing ever starts out that way you figure it out along the way, but if you are guided by a proper intention. That is what maps out course to the proper destination. Okay, time to shift gears and talk about the future of this show regardless of the outcome of this election from the start of this podcast, it had always been my intention to end the show in its current form after the election, and if all that into something else regardless of the outcome, I really feel that we as a people as human beings need to help. "This is one of those areas I really wish by would expose trump on too many people are still conditioned to believe he is the money money money president trump means business remember that's the ticket he wrote in two thousand sixteen and what some otherwise intelligent people bought into. He'll be good for business is the business guy the money guy it's laughable the sky talks about fiscal policy fiscal responsibility or that he's going to increase jobs or operation warp speed the economy for recovery more theater of the mind branding. The real world trump business model is this. He burrows a large sum of money to start a project hires hardworking Americans in the companies they work for. Then he's stiffs them doesn't pay his bills and declares bankruptcy check the court records trump has declared bankruptcy five times on you. That's right. He screws his good working Americans and the companies they work for trump doesn't mean business trump means bankruptcy. It's common knowledge. There's hardly anyone in the US who will do business with trump and it's been that way for years which explains why he has had to reach out overseas to the Russians and Chinese. One point seven, five, billion dollars. In July that's how much trump quietly tucked into the stimulus bill to try and rebuild The Washington FBI headquarters on its current location. The problem is at six months after trump took office he scrapped the plan that had been in the works for ten years previously to rebuild the headquarters in another location and sell the land currently sits on to a private developer following the same plane as when they moved the CIA to Langley. Plot twist did you know trump international hotel? It's only one block away. See the problem and conflict of interest. He used the office of the President in game the real estate market around the White House blocking the sale of the land to ensure his trump international hotel continues to enjoy no competition. So that's nearly two billion dollars that should go to Americans who are jobless detour corona and need money to pay for food rent mortgage medical bills, or go to struggling businesses instead. "Yes we should absolutely not engage in using windmills and wind turbine. solver energy problems. Yes. Thank you, trump. Also from last night's debate trump claiming quote, they want to take buildings down because they want to make bigger windows into smaller windows. As far as they're concerned if you had no window, it would be a lovely thing. Is. So. Ridiculous. Said this before and another episode if these things were done and said in the context of a Saturday night live skit they be really funny and I think they should do more of them because really. They make fun of themselves. While Biden's green new deal does call for upgrading existing buildings in the US. These low energy buildings can have any size window they like. Opportunities Zones. This is an interesting one because it's one that I think the majority of people don't really understand what it is, and therefore it's easily exploitable. And easily served up as something that is positive or something valuable that trump takes credit for. So this was brought up in last night's debate and reference opportunity zones are specific boundaries within a larger ZIP code zone theoretically set up to promote lifestyle an opportunity growth within under served and lower socioeconomic populations. So visualize this with me, you have a large circle. Filled with residential and commercial properties. Within that larger circle is smaller. Circle and that's smaller circle is referred to as the opportunity zone that needs the help. Okay. It's important. Understand the structure of this to expose trump's sleight of hand most recently, the truth of these opportunities owns was born out who the study conducted by economists Sage Langdon, advancement. And interestingly, they only found a benefit to zones outside the opportunities zone. Specifically showing the minorities claim to be designed to be helping did not. This is another example of trump rebranding a program he did not create. Placed, based incentive programs. Let me say that again, place based incentive programs have been implemented and studied for decades. Opportunity zones is a rebranding a repackaging of place based incentive.

"It's getting better. It's almost over nothing to worry about not that big of a deal. We're rounding the corner on and on and keeps repeating the same lies and misdirection. By the way, this Guy Daniel Dale reminds me of Jim Parsons Character Sheldon on the Big Bang theory very similar look and delivery and objective just the facts kind of person. The problem with trump is if he's talking, he's often lying and he does it so much. He is very fluent in its delivery. So however, voters supposed to choose between say two different healthcare plans. If trump makes up stories about both plants, you see this rampant lying undermines democracy making it difficult for reasonable people to honestly compare the two candidates. And interestingly, no previous president has behaved this way not on either side of the political. Now, not that past presidents haven't lied or said things that weren't true. Democrats often accused George. W. Bush of lying and Republicans accused Barack, Obama of lying and both made questionable statements that later proved untrue. But here's the difference when they proved untrue both Bush and Obama stopped making the claims that were untrue. Trump just keeps making them every opportunity he gets, and this is part of his art of the con-. Quoting, The New York, times the president appeared determined to reinvent the reality of the last four years and the history of the pandemic in twenty twenty to ignore his untruths as they nicely call it is to miss the big story, a president trying to construct his own reality and quote yes and I wish you'd gotten to their conclusion and clued in called him out on it and spent the last few years dissecting and exposing for the American voter to see much sooner. The reason I started this podcast is because of the whack of detailed attention put on trump's art of the car to expose his theater of the mind where he constructs own reality and reinforces it in the hearts and minds of the people. Every time speaks in tweets. Remember trump is a branding and sales expert. He understands how the consumer mindset has been conditioned by marketing and advertising to be susceptible, and now liable to the headline claims and sales tactics whether true or not. Trump knows all he has to do is keep saying the Lai over and over again at some point, it takes root in the subconscious mind of far too many people, and once there is able to be triggered at the point of sale, and in this case that point of sale is when you vote how because information true or not that has been repeated many times in prince in your subconscious mind making it feel familiar and what is familiar makes us feel more comfortable when compared against something unfamiliar. Making the customer feel comfortable. Feel good is a vital component in closing any sale. "And in fact, he he has said since that the Obama team quickly adapted to the situation than a choices that were starkly different from those the Trump Administration has made such as quickly Distributing Emergency Equipment from the federal stockpile deferring to Public Health experts and having them take the lead on messaging which need what they did. In fact, it was declared a pandemic I think within a few days of the first case and immediately stuff was going out from the federal stockpile. Needless to say Pence is lying about the fact that they left the federal stockpile empty. In fact, they were over 16,000 ventilators available to them still just they only use ten thousand. Yeah, I still doing it. Yeah, obviously they couldn't leave them a you know a vaccine for a disease that didn't exist at the time. Yeah, but yeah, it was the it was the efforts to get the H1 N1 vaccine out to the public down. Produce enough doses that the administration had had trouble with and in that respect they were lucky that it wasn't more lethal because if it had been more lethal their failure to walk to deal with the vaccine problem would have meant lots of people would have died. Yeah, which actually could be levelled at the Trump Administration in the wake of covid-19. That's exactly what's happened. I mean in terms of the failure to do stuff. Absolutely the vaccine problem of of not being able to get enough vaccines ready and count isn't the Trump administration's problem or false. Yeah. It is their problem in a way but it's not their fault. Hopefully, it won't be their problem because it will be Biden's problem. Yes. Yeah and and who better off so easily somebody who oversaw it last time and learned from that mistake? Yeah, the idea that pen says at the end there that they learned from from Obama and buy dog. Mistakes is insane. They learn to use their mistakes against them now. Yeah by taking the quote out of context or you know, absolutely for the stuff. They did differently was was all bad. It was all you know off claiming that all of the stuff in the federal stockpile was theirs and not for the states. Yeah. Yeah making States compete for medical equipment, you know home giving medical equipment like PPE to other countries before giving it to people in the US just not trusting the science and and massively putting out misinformation wage miracle cures and all kinds of things that they did differently from Obama and every single one of them was wrong. Yes. So yeah, so, you know, it's a it's a quote that will come back to bite him and we will be there to deliver the teeth marks and now is the time I think for Mark's British politics Corner. Well, we know that Boris is always attempt To to appeal to the Tories self-aggrandizing right-wing Base by showing himself to be learning as Learners as they themselves think they are and actually try to appear more learner than he is off and certainly more so than any of it school teachers have gone on record as saying and you can mind those quotes your heart content. "To be cultivated and activated at a future time prepping the market or Mark is when you condition people with repetition until those words images and sounds become familiar and you associate them with a person place or thing Trump Brands. Joe Biden has sleepy Joe. It doesn't have to make sense. He said it it's out there and it can't be retracted in each month. He references Biden Trump repeats sleepy Joe subconsciously. Nobody likes to think of a president as sleepy. There's no positive value to be added. You can either be neutral or subtract from Biden's credibility. Now, you might be thinking well who's going to fall for that be very clear on this the marketing exercise is twofold first Trump simply needs to keep the votes he has and calling Biden sleepy Joe helps reinforce the negative ineffectual perception his base already associated with Biden second Trump knows he only needs to convert a small percentage with his theater of the mind tactics to ensure re-election and although Biden. Well in this first debate, he didn't do great. When measuring his performance and I think it should be acknowledged. There are a few different things happening here. Right? I know that intellectually we can sit here in polite conversation and thought well I'm here to talk about the issues and I want to hear about the issues. Right and we saw on CNN if any of you saw it that they had people who were on the fence undecided and they had about twelve or thirteen of them outside and asked them for their responses and their Impressions after the debate. Now, they all kind of say the same thing take a very intellectual thoughtful approach, but I say that most of that scrap I think that yes, there is part of that but truthfully nobody's sitting there with a pen and a pad going over the issues and honestly home, if you haven't figured out what the issues are by now. Then standing up and regurgitating it isn't going to tell you anything on the factual side. I know some you're going. Well. That's not true. I can hear how they say it. I hear there we go. Let's back that up for a minute. Now, we get to the heart of it. We get to the presentation side of it the performance side of it the entertainment side of it and we can't get away from that. So off the logical part of your mind is saying no I'm here to weigh the issues and do it in a very objective way, but the other side of your mind Is queued up and conditioned in a very pavlovian way to respond to the medium of television or your phone you're watching it through as.

"Now although I have covered these ideas in previous episodes regarding theater of the mind. I felt I had not formalized it enough with a specific structure that is easy to follow and identify when Trump is speaking or tweeting and this ties in perfectly as presidential debate season has officially started in today's episode. I will explain step-by-step Trump's theater of the Mind process and use examples from last night's first debate. We're going to cover six-part Stage Theater of the Mind process. Now, he doesn't always use all six at the same time, but one or more we'll depending on what he's trying to sell you at the moment step one Brandin Brandin Brandin Brandin. Remember Trump is a branding in sales expert and he knows branding comes first because everything wage He is trying to sell you comes under the brand that's marketing and sales 101 and this is why Trump creates a title or brand or label for everything in everyone. He can either derogatory like crazy Nancy Pelosi crooked Hillary Pocahontas, one of the names he has for Senator Elizabeth Warren or talk to Puff himself up like using the term Law and Order president. Now, it's interesting in the debate last night. He used to of these brands or labels. He pulled out could Hillary know for his reference. He could have easily said Hilary but he didn't he used crooked Hillary Trump started conditioning his base back in 2016 off during the election to be responsive or triggered to the term crooked Hillary. Conditioning is very important familiarity is very important reinforcement of the brand the label the terms very important in moving someone through the same as funnel the second term he brought up Law and Order he kept repeating it over and over why because familiarity again. Now, here's the interesting thing about this term that he uses a lot is that it's also a co-branding exercise. So here's the thing the show along long-running TV show drama called Law and Order is familiar to a large percentage of people and whether or not you watch the show doesn't matter. It's irrelevant. If you've heard of it it's off earlier to you. It's a little nugget of reference and familiarity plugged in your subconscious. Trump knows this. He also knows the rules of advertising and marketing. Repetition as a matter of fact, the reason why Billboards are up typically for a minimum of 30 days is because it takes a minimum of twenty-five impressions for it to become a sticky in your mind the tagline the address the phone number the name whatever it is being advertised you need to pass by it many times. So you've consciously have it tucked away in the back of your mind now in the future it's going to be much easier for you to be sold on that thing. Why because it's familiar and I bring up the term or the word that you passed by many many times. Now, there's a connection that's made and we buy based on things..

"Thank you. Or until after the election where a more humane and person centric policy might be enforced. I think you're being very unfair. I think you'll missing a a distinct connection between the seal attack I saw him with bin Laden's compound and sending kids back to school. What you're forgetting is the the government in both cases accepted that some people will die. That's true. Yeah. That that's the clear comparison. Unspoken really isn't it at a certain amount of death is acceptable is accepted these two things to hyphen yeah and but I don't know whether I think they. Obviously. Exponentially. Different amounts of deaths that succeptible. But he's probably as a percentage of operations versus his personnel the percents probably about the same probably about the same. Yeah. So that which is absolutely fine. Take it back. Yeah. After voting to acquit trump Senator Susan Collins said that she thought he learned his lesson as we keep finding out the lesson he learned was that he can get away with anything even when he publicly admits what he's doing. On Fox business on Thursday trump said that he would withhold additional funds from the US Postal Service because they need that money in order to have the post office work. So it could take all of these millions and millions of ballots but if they don't get those two items that means you can't have universal. In voting but withholding money isn't the only thing. Trump is doing to destroy the postal service since installed Republican donor Louis to joy as postmaster general in June to joy has slowed down mail delivery and at least one thousand nine states reorganize the structure of the postal service to centralize power around himself by reassigning displacing twenty three postal executives instructed post offices to no longer treat election mailers, first-class band overtime, frozen hiring, and is now removing mail sorting machines from facilities around the country with no official reason or explanation given. Trump is openly trying to interfere with Americans ability to vote. Perhaps, we should listen when he keeps yelling about this election being rigged within the development sector where I work US aid is known is a big hitter with a sixteen point eight, billion dollar budget being used across the world helping developing countries tackle problems with hygiene, sanitation, gender, equality rights, and freedoms somewhat ironic. "Same Day that the security services an gave a brief to eight Republican people. Trump was saying yeah, this is a hoax isn't real and. Time, presumably, in order to say it was, a hoax had been briefed on it or something. Because if he has still hasn't been breached, but is claiming it's a hoax based on nothing that I mean that's crazy. Who would do that? So wouldn't. It wouldn't be the first time that he has claimed the what the Russians saying which is, this is not true. Over what the US intelligence services are saying. But. Yeah, I mean it's. It's a weird thing because. It's not again. Under talk a little bit more and headlines about about how? How much trump fumbles really easy stuff, but this is not difficult. I mean it's it's. Amazing that if this has been the case in an apparently, people have said that Johm Bolton told them he had briefed trump about this back in March of two thousand and nineteen. Bolton isn't saying anything. Presumably, he's keeping it for his next book. To Yeah. It's kind of amazing that they haven't got to the bottom of it yet and decide whether it's true or not. Because one of the arguments is that well? This is you know. Some intelligence services saying it's no verified an, and if it's been going on for that long more than a year. Why haven't verified it or destroy isn't true yet? No point in that time anyone just mentioned. It's trump. Say it stinks. You should know we're looking. To it, yeah! So is that why is that their excuse for not briefing, trump will. That was yeah. That was trump's first excuse after I haven't heard anything about it was. They didn't tell Mike Pence only about it because they decided it wasn't. Oh, they didn't decide. It was their find enough. They hadn't hadn't decided it was definitely true. So point mentioning it basically. But here's the thing. If this situation came out, it became public. The thing you say straight away is. We are well aware of this. We are looking into it. We've been looking into it for longtime. We have serious intelligence assets on the ground. You know working through to figure out what's going on. Who is offering these bounties? If they're really happening, and if any bounties have been paid, and of course we have kept trump up to date with everything that's been going on, but it hasn't reached the level yet where it makes sense for him to take any action against Russia. Because we haven't verified that is. A real thing yet, that's what's wrong with that as it up. That says this government knows what it's doing. Even get that they can't get to the point where we know about it. We're doing something about it, they like. Well. No, because we don't tell you everything because we're still checking it. Meanwhile American citizens are dying, and and the very least the president would come out and say. You know we're deeply shocked and saddened by the deaths of our. Victory personnel on this on this? You know this going battlefield. And whilst I wasn't aware.

"On forty sevens that they shouldn't have to register or be enrolled in any way whilst the same time registering their car. Licensing it causing test drive it but yeah all of that has to be be dealt with but nonetheless and you know you you cannot. I think look the situation and say this is perfectly normal. Unfortunately after every mass shooting An fight Monday the first five months of last year. There were twenty two mass shootings in this country. Everybody's sends out presence old condolences and nothing gets done. It's getting done at the local level and that's interesting it is not getting done. Federal metal and that's because of money local government and local governing institutions Something that comes up as well in in your book as kind of example of how government gets out of the way by leaving decisions beyond the frame what they've set up to the smallest possible governing entity One of the ones mentioned is school boards in in the manifesto end that made me wonder in terms of this kind of ideal libertarianism of allowing freedom allowing those individual groups to make decisions. Isn't there a need to decide that on a larger level into to regulate that when you have for example schools in Texas and Kansas and places like that. Saying it's okay or even buying textbooks to To teach creationism over evolution. Isn't there need for the government to get involved with that point on the federal level and say now we have to have these standards. I I believe there is an I make a distinction in the book between what I believe are social issues that follow Murrow Ideal. Aji Abortion being one which I think really should be brought down to the county level if you want to live in a county that does not allow abortion on but maybe the county next door next to that does allow it and that means people can Even poor people can have access to it if they need aware. Cases Concerns It's it's not just about curriculum although I think you on a very good point there. But it's about financing and with still using the form of financing education. That was used in the days of migrations of the great Wild West. You had a town on the prairie that had it schoolhouse and had it schoolteacher and they needed to be supported and that was property taxes. Today we have the same system which means that essentially. If you're in a poor neighborhood you are really screwed in terms of the quality of the schools that you have favorable to you whereas if you're in a a very wealthy neighborhood you have the best Education going and this. This actually results in a grotesque mutation of the property market with people moving between the kids elementary school time. They'll be one neighborhood and then they'll move to another neighborhood and that that really screws with property prices but essentially what it does mean is that there is no Equal rights to education in this country. And I'm talking primarily secondary education secondary education is a crap shoot and essentially is not going to. It's it's not solving for social mobility. Social ability in the states is an all time low right now so yes to answer your question than needs to be A A most state-driven. Maybe we'll federally driven approach to education certainly to education funding. And I think with the federal government can come in is to say look. We need to move away from property. Tax Base System probably mortaring contracts based system. We need to follow the Dutch example of Him where there are lower social economic class families in a particular neighborhood or maybe immigrant families we actually appoint funding to their schools to encourage mobility these things that again they do full. Within the Democratic of Italian folk framework because essentially the government is then leveling the playing field. Andrew moving the fear of people who otherwise kids trapped in the low structure of society removing fear enabling. Apps to build a better future kids. The PUCK is full. The people the citizens manifestation shaping our nation's features. Simon weckend people get Volkswagen. They find out more about you. Thank you yes. The book is available at Amazon. A both in the UK and in the US and elsewhere you can also go to my website. Simon Chadwick Dot us and buy through that website. Do leave a review house. Yvonne negative whichever way full and I'd love to hear from anybody who is up for respectful conversation as to the marriage so demands of the ideas that I put full with Simon. Thank you very much for joining us. Thank you Jim. It's been a real pleasure like the way he kinda sets out the whole thing based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs but he kind of touches on libertarianism. In so we were talking about earlier. The we've thought that it was a bear varies thing. A thing about being small government so you do hardly anything to interfere in the social fabric and you just let everything go to the free market. But it's but he's got some thoughts about that actually him. Yes solutions to some of the problems with libertarianism are inevitable. I think do seem to involve using more government regulation. I would have expected given my previous ideas of what libertarianism is so interesting to totem and to read and yeah actually. It's kind of the kind of ideas that in breach in times in the UK been dismissed socialism and even worst communism stalinism leading the way off to the to the land yet. But they're kind of just. The things enable a stable and secure society in swell about how that kind of socialism would has become Wall of the rights in America. The their they simply refuse to look at the mall. Democrats a libertarian. Socialism as opposed to the authoritarian which is countries like Sweden in using Baseline where nationally? They're doing pretty well. How could add finally some things? We really don't have time to talk about shocking. Nobody nowhere trump continued to lie down. Play the corona virus last week. Various points likening it to the flu again suggesting on Fox that many people who get it are fine so going to work and even blaming Obama saying the Obama Administration made a decision on testing the turned out to be very detrimental to what we're doing and we ended that decision a few days ago. Nobody knows what he was talking about. Fact check all reached out to FDA the CDC and the White House and got no response and the expert who would speak to them said there was no such decision peak trump though happen during his aforementioned visit to the CDC when he blithely announced that his personal preference would be to leave American citizens on the cruise ship. The diamond prince ask because letting them off. The ship would make the infection numbers. Look Worse. Nice what you need in a crisis especially in the health crosses his trusted acura accessible information from the White House well royds ran reports from government officials. That stuff is without high security. Clearances were excluded from the corona virus. Response Meetings held by the Department of Health and Human Services that they took place in classified rooms even the virtual video conference ones of course if the information is classified than it doesn't get beyond to select bunch you have clearance given the bunch of Clearance Arto qualified to run the country. Let ALONE DEAL WITH. Global health crosses this very possibly slow down the trump administration's response. Maybe it's a bit naughty of Reuters to poke the grumpy bear like that by pointing this out because he's just going to spend a lot of time rolling about how it's fake news that and he's not being inaccurate or opaque and near. I'm the president rather than out fixing things actually. Yeah that's probably for the best good work. Reuters at the height of the administration's denial. Anything really wrong. Large numbers of Republicans gathered together a number of CPAC the conservative Political Action Conference Mick Mulvaney. Trump's now former chief of staff told conference attendees at the reason the current viruses even in the news was because Democrats thought it would bring down the president days later when an attendee tested positive corona virus several prominent Republicans say going into self quarantine for a couple of weeks including Ted Cruz. Doug Collins and body language expert Paul Gosar who immediately went insane tweeted that he'd rather die gloriously embattled and from virus the final quarantined representative was noted drunken desperate attention seeker. Matt Gaetz who only weeks before had mocked peoples concerned by wearing a full gas mask on the House floor during the vote on appropriations for combating the virus after come up to him and smacked him in his. Oh smack will face. His team announced on twitter. That Congressman Gates had expected cove in nineteen to impact Congress given the elevated frequency of traveling human contact and demonstrated his concern last week on the House floor Democrat representative Katie Porter reminded. Cdc Director Robert Redfield probably nothing short of the modern application of the hippocratic oath. Recently when she taught it up at the House hearing the cost of getting tested for corona virus about four grand per household she then simply asked Redfield. Do you want to know who has a corona virus and who doesn't yes? He replied not just rich people but everyone in my of the virus all of America he replied but it took her three goes to get redfield sued quote. Commit right now to using the authority that you have vested in you under law that provides in a public health emergency for testing treatment. Exams Oscillation without cost. Yes or no only had to do is say yes. Ports pointed out. He didn't have to do any other work than that. Finally he relented car believes that. That's the right word. Even relented in the current crisis and stopped giving thoughts and prayers nonsense and said yes which as Porter said is indeed excellent. Everybody in America here that you are eligible to go get tested for corona virus and have that covered regardless of insurance they have eight people a victory for the ninety nine percent not to be sneezed that Casey Porter continues to be an amazing representative. If you want to hear more about how much we thinks he's great and other stuff. She's done a episode. Twenty eight. You can hear all about that. In numbers. Finally as the number of cases rose exponentially even in the absence of protesting. Trump seemed to get the idea. That bullshit can only take you so far. When people are dying and address the nation on Wednesday from the Oval Office without acknowledging that. Maybe this wasn't quite like the flu. He announced that he was putting a thirty day ban on travel from Europe including on goods and cargo. Despite the fact that this was poorly read aloud from words that had been written down from input on Teddy presumably more than thirty seconds before he went on TV. What he said wasn't actually what he meant and trump himself and various agencies tweeted corrections quickly. Afterwards the band would not in fact cover goods and cargo just people and not all people American citizens were still free to travel from Europe presumably because citizenship. Imbues you with some kind of immunity? Also the band wouldn't cover all of your places which don't contain trump golf courses said the UK nine in the fine just hours before this recording trump held a press conference in the Rose Garden to declare national emergency which will free up billions of dollars to combat the.

Well actually trump was threatening to sue people because he finds it if he actually Susan. He hasn't irritating tendency to lose. Which makes it all the more surprising that the trump campaign has sued the New York Times liable for an opinion piece about trump's ties to Russia. Join the two thousand sixteen campaign. Yes you heard that right. That's suing knows about a new story involving disputable facts but about an op-ed in which someone expressed an opinion they didn't like and that claiming millions of dollars in damages no specific amount just millions like Doctor Evil right lawsuit. It seems between someone having the idea to sue the lawsuit being filed with The New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan. Nobody pointed out to the trump campaign. The the discovery phase of this lawsuit would involve them producing evidence of any communication. They had the Russians. I don't think this one will make it to a courtroom in a similar vein. The statement or coat was so inappropriate. It's almost trying to take the people who feel a different way and get them to vote the way that they'd like them to vote. I thought it so inappropriate. Such a terrible statement. No note about trump nora moment of self awareness by trump but trump saying it about Sonia Sotomayor and demanding that she and our BG recused themselves from old trump related. Matters which is difficult. Because it's SORTA Maya says. The trump administration immediately runs to the Supreme Court when the lower courts don't rule their way so the supreme court appears to be filled with nothing but trump related matters trump's running out investigators complain about and previously stayed away pretty much from attacking the Supreme Court which has repeatedly cited with his administration on controversial issues but trump's attacks on an Obama judge who ruled against his administration's asylum policy earned a rebuke from chief. "It is he may get this opportunity to speak but they'll have opening arguments and then I think they'll probably have vote to dismiss right Fridley. Believe that won't get voted through. But it's possible that could be the end of it after that but I think that the fact that people have come forward and the fact that there's has been this dump of documents and the fact. The John Bolton has said that he would testify trial if cold and just the fact that almost every day more stuff comes out out more. Republican senators are gonNA find it uncomfortable when they go back to their constituents to have voted I just dismissing it without having heard any evidence that getting to the point where prior to this stuff happening they would be worried about voting four mu impeaching trump and dismissing him from office because of the backlash from their voters. Now is getting to the point. One hopes says revealing its What you're getting to the point? Where if they did then defend trump? Yeah the price of the people are just GonNa go. Let's be a moment as tipping point is reached well over fifty Republican. Senators are not going to have any qualms what so ever ignoring all of this evidence and just voting in favor favor trump. The the more stuff like this comes out in the intervening days. The the more possibility there is that there will be just enough to tip it in of having witnesses and documents. Yeah but I mean. Let's pretend that the Republicans are going to be prince principled old enough in general to think. Let's actually have a fair trial that Hungary and the standing of houses else's lawmakers in the world of Politics Strauss knowing our own personal gain in future. Yeah yeah talking to nine this particular time line and finally some things we really don't talk to talk about. Since last we spoke. The House voted to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate. Nancy signed the documents and hand out some commemorative pens which pissed Republicans off presumably because they're not allowed to be angry or anything trump does so they have to rage about every other little thing. That happens all that explode. The trial starts on Tuesday. And in the meantime they've been picking and teams Pelosi's prosecutors have gone with a mix of veteran players like Adam Schiff Zoe lofgren alongside rookie such as Jason Crowe. Donald's defenders meanwhile will be jointly. We run by White House Counsel Patch Baloney and trump's personal lawyer. Jason also on the team is Pam. Bondi the former Florida attorney general. Who declined to investigate okay? Trump University for tax fraud days after her reelection campaign received a check for twenty five thousand dollars from the Donald J trump foundation the charity that had to be shut down recently he because of fraud. And just. Today it's been announced that former Jeffrey Epstein Ano- J Simpson. That's any Alan Dershowitz has joined the team. Trump apparently likes whips quits. Because he's good on TV. which rather overlooks the fact? That much of the general public dislikes what with all the Jeffrey Epstein annot J Simpson defending in the wake of trump's latest reckless foreign policy actions. That could very easily result in more and more troops being sent to the Middle East. Jason Selvik endeavoring stiffler commandeur known as the good liars thought the public deserve the reminder who the trumps are and pasted a poster featuring junior to the front of the Armed Forces Careers Center in Brooklyn. The poster has baby trump arms folded in a blue suit and open next shit with the words. I'm not enlisting but you should and next to the. US Army we luggage below. It has the tagline this week and there's trump week on instagram. The two wrote we put up some signs the army recruitment centre. Hopefully we beyond going to war. But if we did we know one guy who enlist they previously postcards of Putin into the merchandise racks at trump tower with the caption forty fifth president of the United States as daily costs as one way to appease the outraged trump supporters will be Phadang boy to sign up now. KAZIANIS KAZIANIS shoots a dumb animals. Which means you probably shouldn't go hunting with his brother anymore? But then who are we to spoil his fun or thwart that much needed public nervous service. Trump often lies claim that his fifty percent approval rating is wrong because seven to ten percent of his supporters. Too embarrassed to admit like him. Well it is wrong but but not for that reason. Firstly pretty much everyone except Rasmussen puts him closer to forty percent but even that is artificially high according to a couple of professors at Cornell. He theorized used that the way. The question was asked. Prompt people to answer which team they're on rather than if they actually think trump is doing a good job in an effort to remove that variable they ask people how favorably I believe you trump relative to other republicans including John McCain. Mike Pence Ronald Reagan and Alaska's Village Idiot Sarah Palin before the midterms trump ranked close to pence cents higher than Palin in December. Two thousand in one thousand nine. They ran the survey again Reagan and McCain still scored fairly highly but now trump is even less popular than Sarah. I read all the newspapers and magazines Palin Sarah which career is the bad career motherfucking Palin. He he was also that thing. Remember that thing with a change the way that they recorded whether people trump voters by the if they responded on the fuck off trump. Yeah Yeah So. That's why it's a good day if plateau lower the Sarah Palin. Wow we thought trumpet. Written trade is bad but no. It's fine apparently last Friday told Fox News is Laura Ingram a very good relationship with Saudi Arabia said. Listen you're very rich country. You want more troops. I want to send them to you. But you've got to pay us. They're paying us. They've already deposited. Posited one billion dollars in back so did you hear what he just said. Former Republican Justin Amash put bluntly he sells troops and he's pointing pointed out before trump's use of the troops has broken his campaign. Promise to bring them home. He's moving troops back into Iraq. He's moving other troops in Saudi Arabia and using using our forces almost as mercenaries paid mercenaries. Who are going to come in as long as Saudi Arabia pays us some money? It's good to go so let me get this strike. Trade is okay as long as it's in people who otherwise nothing else to do to see who are somewhere else and who might die and thus won't be able to complain. Hey Donny thanks to you. There's lots of unemployed steel workers farmers kids in cages. At the border. You could get money for I'm sure trump preps the lines to ingram with you know doing something that nobody's ever done. I there's a reason for that. Most awesome resort legal under nine hundred eighty nine international convention and be anyway. It's not true. Selling people has been done before and boy. America and Lincoln fought very hard to stop it happening. It was a President Donald not a car according to the new the old times Russian. Hackers have successfully infiltrated the network of Ukrainian Gas Company. SMA The one that trump has been trying everything to get dirt on for months. I don't remember him saying Russia issue or listening on TV again which can only mean that. He's learning to do some of his crimes when he's not on TV. I would say that will make it harder to hold him accountable. But firstly Rudy Giuliani will inevitably confessed on his on the Sunday shows and secondly nothing. That's is anyway now. The big pillar trump certainty about the crookedness of his opponents is crumbled to dust. The Washington Post reports the Department of Justice investigation into the Clinton Foundation dealings as come up with nothing John. Hobart was asked by Jeff sessions to look into concerns. Guess who's that the. FBI hadn't fully pursued cases related to the Clinton Foundation as well as continues his tenure secretary of state the post reports who had found nothing worth pursuing let alone any criminal charges senior department of Justice officials said at the investigation largely been viewed as little more than a way to appease trump and his Republican allies quote. We didn't expect much of it. And now the data uber as time went on a lot of people just forgot about it. But not the invincibility ignorant unfor- getting elephant at the head of the party. Barely an hour after after the Post report came out. Trump was on the campaign trail telling supporters crooked. Hillary locker up isn't it a classic projection technique technique of psychopaths to see one's own peccadilloes slash heinous crimes in everyone else but oneself. It was only a few episodes ago. We reported reported that trump foundation was found really very guilty of all souls crookedness to the tune of billions of dollars to be paid in fines and members of the trump family banned from ever ever being charity directors. Again never are they really know mirrors in the White House. The Government Accountability Office has released a report concluding that the trump administration gratien broke the law. I know I'm shocked when they withheld military eight Congress had approved for Ukraine. They pointed out that the Impoundment Control Act does not permit commit withholding funds for policy reasons which is brilliant. Other presidents did not call Pitt. Write letters at some presidents. Do anything many people have come out and said I'm light. You really do have to ask yourself. Where does it stop? Hello and welcome to fallacious trump report. Cards where we use the insane ramblings tendering voldemort to explain logical fallacies your host Jim host mark a logical fallacies an era in reasoning the results in bed or invalid arguments and the logical fallacy. We're looking at this week. is is begging the question also known as Petitio PRINCIPII and assuming the conclusion say begging. The question is one of those phrases which has taken taken on new meaning over the years These days it kind of means raising the question so like you might say like the buses been late everyday this week which depicts the question. Would it be late next week. And that's just part of language moving on and changing and that's okay And you can say you can tell people. They're all when they say it helping begging the question means they wouldn't think you're very funny. I've learned over the regarded. Lock it when you do that. Question Way to go to school yeah so the question is logical fallacy basically remains Assuming you'll conclusions assuming that you'll am point you're his correct and then using that assumption to try and provide evidence so it's kind of like circular reasoning this up but We will talk about second reading in another show show. There's a little bit more reasoning to secular reasoning using his steps in the process together with begging the question. It's a bit more sympathetic and often can be just just a way of kind of restating the conclusion in different words and using it as one of your premises so office police week. From trump is a is a fanny pure form of switches. Ready to find in. The wild is such a terrible way of trying to convince anyone of anything in a way. This isn't really in. If you really being a purist it isn't really a logical fallacy because it is logically valid because if you say hey thanks history therefore is true useful. It's not a good argument invalid. Now it's totally isn't it. It's in your coffee is. Coffee is a way of arguing. Yeah favor tell some further the argument all yeah. Yeah and because it's such a rubbish waving waving usually don't find ones where they just kind of. Restate the exact same words but of course with strength set for yeah so in his now legendary February two thousand seventeen press conference where he I mean the first instance really of him rambling and going completely crazy on camera in front of all all the fresh and then writing down everything he said he said this and the leaks are absolutely real. The the news is fake because so much of the news is fake. He talknet leaks coming into the White House. And his contention was the the leaks were real therefore something. He could get annoyed about the news about the leaks. Being real was fake. Okay does that the that the reason that he knew that the news fake news fake guy right right and therefore.

Yeah but also what's interesting is that later on But what we said trump declined to be viewed for this book and yet the the first in the the quote from which fear comes over to the real power is don't even WANNA use the word fear it comes to renew interview with. Bob Woodward interviewed him a few times over the years. But obviously that was for the book for this Birkin Birkin. Yeah you know about the events covered in the book So I presume partly because Would would would get a little background stuff from the other people that interviewed and would have liked in fact he. He tried several times to get an interview with trump to talk to him about bounce. Some of this stuff. He'd found out from other people trump claimed that none of his staff ever told him that would have been trying to get hold of him to to be with him. Yes yes oh well. He's along the lines of last episode of fallacious trump when he denied the Russians. "Okay. Coens call to the Kremlin to ask for help with building the tower and financing the construction took place in January in March at least twelve of let him your Putin's top military intelligence. Officers began a massive theft of emails and documents from Democrats and Hillary Clinton. So while Cohen was talking about a land deal with the Kremlin Putin and his military men were about to execute an attack on the twenty sixteen elections. Early twenty sixteen Seder and Cohen are planning a trip to Moscow. But to arrange that they need an official invitation from Russian business Seder messages Cohen saying there will be an invitation from TB Bank BT be is a state owned Bank. That's under US treasury sanctions for Russian aggression in Ukraine. He says VDB Bank CEO Andre Causton will be at all meetings with Putin. So that it is a business meeting, not political leader, cedar rights. It's an invitation that's being directed by Putin's people not a banker an invitation from BT be never comes through. Instead, they get an invitation from gen Bank a different Bank. Also under sanction Heather looked into gen Bank. And a man named you've Guinea DeVos skin, the Russian press calls him, Jen banks owner and Jen Bank his Bank records show. He controls at least four. Eight percent of the bank's capital turns out that just like Felix sater's DeVos can has roots in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. They were teenagers. They're at the same time. It is twenty s voskan got involved in a guest bootlegging scheme that was run by the Russian mafia, and it was really kind of notorious scheme and resulted in a number prosecutions and a lot of sort of stepped up law enforcement action to try to break up the Russian mafia around that time DeVos skin was convicted of tax evasion and spent some time in prison in the US for his role in the Mafia-led bootlegging scheme. He returned to Russia where according to the organized crime and corruption reporting project, he remained tied to criminal networks. So then he became a part owner of Jenn Bank. It's a small Bank. Partly state-owned that expanded significantly in the Crimea right after Russia, invaded the territory. This is the Bank that sends an invitation to Cohen during the campaign. Well, I think what's really amazing about this that it shows us that even with Trump in the. Glare of the spotlight from the campaign that you've got Seder still connecting him and his associates with people who not only have criminal backgrounds, but appear to have ties to networks of criminals a lot of businesses that work internationally, really actively try to avoid these kind of associations in order to try to protect their reputation and to prevent someone. They're associated with getting the whole company into all kinds of trouble. You know, we haven't seen any evidence that Trump organization does this, and it raises questions about what these sorts of folks might have wanted to seek in return from Trump or from staff Cohen given that his political career was really taking off at that moment as the campaign continues the plans for a Moscow trip by both Cohen and Trump proceeded pace in his testimony before the house oversight committee. Cohen says he talked Trump about going to Moscow during the campaign, and the Trump told him to talk it over with his campaign manager at the time Corey Lewandowski, what did you discuss speeding? Possibility of which dates that Mr. Trump would have availability. If in fact that we were going to go over to Russia to take a look at the project. Cohen and Seder are messing about this latest may fourth twenty sixteen. That's the day after the Indiana primary where Ted Cruz and his campaign and Trump became the all but certain nominee by this time. According to the special counsel's office, top Russian military intelligence officers had already succeeded in hacking, the computer networks of the democratic congressional campaign committee, the Democratic National Committee, the Hillary Clinton campaign and the personal emails of Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta. Russian agents had monitored the computers of dozens of democratic campaign workers implanted malware stolen, thousands of emails and begun to plan how to release them. towing is still planning Trump visit to Moscow in June of twenty sixteen as the Republican national convention in Cleveland is approaching he gets a formal invitation to go to Russia. But at the last minute, he decides not to go. In the beginning of June that other Moscow development family, the ones who hosted the Miss Universe events reappear in our story. Our as Laura along with his popstar, sunny mean, and means publicist rob Goldstone Goldstone emails done junior saying there's high level and sensitive information from the Russian government that would incriminate Hillary Clinton don't junior takes meeting in Trump Tower with rob Goldstone in a Russian government lawyer, Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort are there to within days of Don juniors meeting Felix, cedar. And Michael Cohen meet face to face in the same building at the snack bar in the atrium to talk about their Trump Tower Moscow deal. And that's where the trail ends Trump's Moscow. Tower is never built Cohen says the deal was terminated because Trump won the presidency. What you describe is certainly worrying we laid out our reporting on the Moscow deal and on Cohen's, call to the Kremlin and talk of the Putin penthouse for Alexandra Raggi, the president and founder of trace international on organization that helps companies comply with anti-bribery laws. She's an expert in the Foreign Corrupt Practices act or CPA. And it says you can't pay or even offer to pay anything value and fifty million dollar penthouses clearly something of value in order to secure either new business or an improper business advantage, and that might be waving permitting issues. Overlooking zoning restrictions to be in violation of the FCPA. She says the quid pro quo doesn't have to be perfectly explicit. Nobody ever says it we will give you a penthouse in exchange for. Your help with zoning restrictions or security, your traffic, or whatever the issues are a lot of it is left unsaid. And whether Trump knew of the penthouse offer Roddy says that might not matter in an F CPA case because there's an expectation that companies do their diligence. For years Trump denied he had any business in Moscow until Coen's guilty plea when Trump said he was acting like any ordinary businessman. Nothing wrong too. I was running my business while I was campaigning. There was a good chance that I wouldn't have one in which case I would have gotten back into the business. And why should I lose lots of opportunity? Why they're an I can't quite get this to all add up. Why Trump and his associates pushed so hard to build in Russia at this time with this developer. I think one of the biggest questions is why Rozov this is a guy who on the surface didn't seem to have himself positioned to do a deal. Like this something of this scope and magnitude he didn't have land under his controls far as we know he didn't have financing lined up as far as we know. And he didn't have a history of successfully leading efforts to build skyscrapers in Moscow. So one of the questions is did he bring some kind of other value to Trump some kind of value? We can't see exactly I think we don't understand completely his value to Trump. And knowing that Trump is obviously businessman he's looking to make some money. We don't completely understand. Why Trump thought he was the one who could help him make that money? Where would the streams of money come from how this would all work? Exactly. Those are all questions that we still have. So another question is this is a post sanction environment because of the invasion of Crimea. Why was Trump at all? So hell bent on building cower in Moscow during this period. Another thing that occurred to me in this reporting. Once I got in was, you know, I understanding the complexity of the Moscow real estate market. This is not an easy place to build understanding the lack of power Rozov or capacity Rozov seem to have. And then, you know, finding out that in addition to those hurdles that you have a time in history when other investors other foreign investors are pulling out of this market because of the Korea invasion and the US sanctions. So it's a very. Strange time to get involved the way Trump did. And did Trump's associates in fact, offer something of value to the Kremlin. If you have a situation where you're in American developer and also a presidential candidate. And all of a sudden, a foreign leader has in his possession, essentially evidence that you may have broken US law that you may have broken the Foreign Corrupt Practices act that gives you a whole lot of leverage over that candidate, theoretically. Trump cower Moscow deal remains under scrutiny from multiple investigators were continuing to look at it too. If you have any tips, please send them to us at tips at Trump Inc, podcast dot org.
