Lebanon's entire government resigns amid anger over Beirut explosion

"A week after a massive explosion to. All parts of the Lebanese city of Beirut. Apart, the entire government has resigned the massive blast was caused whenever two thousand tons of ammonium nitrate which had been stored unsafely at the port for six years exploded killing over two hundred people injuring more than six thousand and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless over the weekend residents of Beirut demonstrated against the government calling for the removal of the entire political class due to their negligence and corruption. Joining us once again from Beirut is Layla Milana Allen Leyla when we spoke to you yesterday, five politicians had resigned so far. Tell us about the announcement made last night by the prime minister. So what we saw yesterday and the evening before session, all government ministers resigning. We also saw several NPR's goes well, Megyn went from protesters. Here we go one by one this many left to go. and. Then there was the resignation of the finance minister as he wasn't he just before that meeting that was supposed to in the afternoon that cabinet meeting in which prime minister the APP had said that he was going to a table a motion. To try and have the elections is at the State Petunia. So. How's it wasn't said that he would suspend his his resignation until off the meeting they went in and they spent two thousand not room. Getting. Rumors from quite early on in fact, the entire government was going to resign because there were two ways that this could happen. Either has MD could resign himself or if more than a third of his ministers resigned, that would make his cabinet untenable already looking at five. So essentially, just two more and they were already two minutes to said before they went through, they would resign if the government didn't as Walter a couple of hours they came out and those announcement saying that he would speak in the evening. And when he did speak, he came forward and he said. That they had tried their best to be transparent tried to Rama transparent government. She's January failed to impose some of the reforms that Lebanon. So desperately needed but endemic corruption in the government had made it impossible to do so had caused this tragedy. Now, of course, many people don't feel that's the case they feel that the government was not run transparently at all. Or none of the reforms that has promised January. Would be done in six months word done within six months, and of course we now know. That both the president and the prime. minister. WED Two thousand, seven, hundred and fifty tons of money not great was in the Port as worse excessive government none of them do anything about it. So the government's gone but is going to be a change in the system will the same sectarian politics driving the unrest still exist? Not at the moment now, sectarian politics is really driving some rest. There are a few elements here. Firstly, the the problem with the government system is not that it's impossible to run because the country says sectarian, it's the it's impossible to have a government which allows the country to not be sectarian young people on the streets is saying that's not what they want. They want to country that will come together and work together where people are elected based on their merit not based on what sector they come from but because the political system is original on these lines where each sect gets a certain number of seats innocent area firstly, it's impossible to have that kind of government that is responsible for the entire country doesn't have. Interest in certain places, and secondly, it means only a certain kind of person can be elected because there is such entrenched nepotism in politics and you need the money and connections to be able to run and succeed. So right now, what's going to happen is that as we saw late last year when Prime Minister I've had resigned, the current government will stay on in a Catholic capacity. There's not much they can do in that capacity they will meet rally and they will only be able to put in bills or emergency bills to keep the country going, of course, Lebanon ready needed proper legislation to come in and change things before this explosion now, really function of government. To get things moving the country who built and help people that's not going to happen under a caretaker government but the system is so complex in terms of trying to elect a new prime minister different block in Palm. As I say, these different sectarian blocks have to agree on the candidates and then he has to find a cabinet that pleases all of this -Tarian blocks each of whom will want their own cows come in that. Again, what we're going to see in the coming weeks is this political game. All aimed at making the right formation balance of people in power rob. Then a government trudy is just focused on what is best for the Lebanese people purchase street saying this is the same old system. Nothing's going to change a new election won't help us. Cabinet won't help us. We need a complete overhaul of its system which has dragging us down and letting the country move forward.

"Island of the love Song I THIS IS I. It's a rather severe enough. I do think anyone has some something offer. Y'All do with this Right now people are having to deal with the fact that our loved ones getting sick and they can't be with they can't go to that not even just with covert with whatever because you can't travel right now so I cannot imagine my parents. I've lost both. My parents can't imagine if they were alive. Right Yang's Zion be experiencing for and then if they were to get sick and they were to get put in quarantine like many people. Are you know? I've heard it's sad stories. People are dying having to say goodbye to each other with walkie talkies or their phones or you know recording something just because they can't talk to anybody and they're being put in sedated if they're being insulated so they're gonNA SCAR SO. I wonder if what we all have this fantasy when our when our loved ones are going when day comes they get at least be witnessed at their bedside. But I just wonder if you have any thing you offer people. I'm not as the physical reality. And it can be heartbreaking because you love these people and you WanNa hold their hand and you want them to know and sometimes you can't sometimes you can virtually unanimously talk to them and I have to say I have chanted and Sonnen Fares out loud for people as they were dying into distance. I said. Would you hold this up to Georgia? Whatever her name was and I would do the Tabet in book of the dying that go into the clear lighter I would do. A Beautiful Chantelle are much her life and meant to me into every want. And here's The wild thing I've also done it with people who are in Alma. You know where they've been like with analyzers you get put on a deliberately put into Kalma as you couldn't tolerate it otherwise but I've done it with people in by and once in a while they come out of their coma and they say oh yes I heard you. I remember some. Don't think that we're not connected. Dunkin in my be connected where we can rest the flesh so to speak and we miss that because we were built to have a connection hand to hand in skin-to-skin belly to belly and all the things that make us human. Yes we're connected in deeper web and your prayers and your song you would call these people on sing to them no and and make your song. That's time can be kind of medicine to the imagine in this place that we can still contribute to a better world to be that lamp and the darkness or the music burst out with love somehow to be area of. Oh you mean in your voice and your song and if there is a few rural send them off with a beautiful song and know that they may still be listening wherever you are seized. Hear my Song Lecco into pure light of your the ocean love. That's who you are and let me sing you as you go. I don't think that we're not connected with us. We are and yes. It's heartbreaking and death in that loss is only heartbreaking just touches so deeply and we have to respond and we have uniform and you and I love. "It's in the branches of the sidewalk trees as they begin to Split Open and change the grace scape green. It's in the sparrows and starlings taking nesting materials into the cracks around windows and doorways of commercial buildings. It's in the wild geese crying as they fly in a sky full of drifting clouds the sunshine always returns that. I think when you're alone is it's really actually in some ways more of a chance to deepen your connection to yourself and consider positive retreat time because you are having to home school your kids and tolerate and figure out what to do work at home while the kids. I mean all those things. My daughter has to go close the door to a closet in her house to have a private conversation. Right now. Do you know what. I mean like you free. She ate the peace and the freedom that does come with the aloneness and transform that loneliness into solitude which can be so nourishing and such an opportunity that I not concert. We rarely how with all the technology and connect unity and business that we are all experiencing. So it's it's to acknowledge that yes. It's lonesome and there's freedom in it that other people might not have. And how can I use that freedom? Okay that's great yeah and Jock and Tara and I contributed teachings for at home retreat for people who might WANNA structure home retreat for themselves. Certain Meditation Retreats Are Being Offered Online. Doing this right now was to something. You can download them to yourself. Oh but But Yeah I'm going to be doing. An online retreat in May and other people are doing online retreats that You can tune in to do part of do as much as you want. You don't have to travel to meditation center. You don't happen you know what I mean. You don't have to be in silence all day and all night. If that's not the right thing for you I. This is your response to this. I would love to hear jacker. Just moving to the next question. I'd love to your era. I want him back. He was just saying on our websites on inside. La Dot Org or Trudy Goodman or Jack Com reject cornfield like palms over. We put up a lot of the guided meditations passion of I work with body all kinds of things to center yourself instant Har- and then some videos that trudy and talking together as an example. I'm thinking about people being in solitude alone or even those who are there with someone else but seeking somehow different kinds of connection aside a first step in the connection is actually to be able to connect with yourself or that becomes critical. How you homeless and it's also important and to shit then to reach out in other ways and so I recommend finding a meditation partner. Bunny who you can practice with you have Erin forced but if you're alone find someone and say let's practice every morning or let's practice every ten minutes or twenty minutes. They can be a gratitude partner where you say will tell me two things in the day. Actually you feel grateful for in spite of everything that's happening or you can. Let's let's do that every day. To loving kindness practice in which you read and hope and courage and thou breath you read out love to that other person and then people in your neighborhood and people in the community you read in the courage of all the first responders and all the people caring for one another in the middle of this healthy and you re not love for all those who are carrying and being cared for in you. Start to feel that you're participating in sending that Energy Awesome. Will you don't do it along with with a partner with someone else and you might do it out loud? These are just getting into creative ways to find a different kind of connection out of your solitude. That's worth genuine. That's heart connection in which you can access together as you support each other. Just like like the three of us in this conversation. We're learning listening to trudy and I'm learning things from her on listening to you and I'm learning things and so we we actually hold each other. Oh it's the best. This is the highlight of my endemic. Right now by the way and I don't want to end on a dire not learning to co occur down the island of the love Song I THIS IS I. It's a rather severe enough..

"In I think ways that bring more Health and strength to our whole beings that we are more and that's protective to not just floods and masks and you know that. Yeah okay I both of you. I love this description of scanning finding some compassion there And I woke idea of sitting together. It's so funny. 'cause I I you know in my mind. I think you will air moments with me and then I realize. I'm not meditating at all. So of course he's not going to meditate with you. 'cause you're not doing. Do I feel like I'm being somewhat selfish? I'm asking Y'all for therapy for me in my particular situation which is where the family. I wonder if you could offers something to the people who are completely along right now or at least alone fit eight five thousand nine roommates. It's raisin non-relationship situation. There is in their apartment our homes and they can't really leave safely they can't date just suddenly find themselves shipwrecked in their own on their own little islands. And I I don't I think if I were in that situation I would revert into some got self-destructed my ass make uis. Ketamine Vodka anything. I could get my hands. So what what? What would you offering to those folks up there? Yeah I mean first of all you know. Some things that are unhealthy. We are going to do when we're alone. Like fat letter. Is eating the whole bag of corn chips or whether it's hooking up with somebody when we shouldn't or these things will happen from time to time though to be the first thing I will say this. Forgive yourself at the stock. You're doing that you know you shouldn't and just forgive yourself because until you forgive yourself for that it's going to be hard to move onto healthier things because the worst you feel about yourself the more you need those old comforts and it's just becomes a you know kinda vicious circle And then the other thing I would say is you really need to get out of the House and even if you're wearing a mask if you're wearing goggles you're you know in your has matsue. You need to wade to people when you pass them and make sure you say hi or admire their dog. That's what I usually do You know just have that moment of social connection because your nurse assistant will register that as a positive thing and it sounds like it's ridiculous unhelpful. But it's not it's helpful and these little moments of connection help. The other thing is the natural world. You know and and I'm GonNa read one more quotas I might on that. I really like from New York Times writer named Margaret Ranko. And she said the natural world perfect indifference as.

"Dunk. Well they'll please. I was gonna say the other piece of what you're saying. I think is that is true for everybody and not. Just you as being quarantined like this being cooked up together. It's like an enforced retreat. And it's ringing up everybody's stuff inside that where usually too busy with our You know are very fruitful. Distractions are work and things that we go and do those things have been taken away from us. And those are the things that everybody has found their own ways to comfort themselves or to To work with avoiding that they need to avoid you know. The defenses have have organized their life and suddenly those defenses. Aren't working so well because we don't have the supports for our defenses and so for you it's coming up as fear of your mortality and You know being the father of a young family or other people. It's questioning what they've done with their lives so far for other people it's realizing their marriage actually isn't so healthy that they could each do their own thing all day made them not have to look at that in the right And for other people it's realizing how much they can't stand to be with their children even though they loved them or you know it. It's all these things are coming up for. People and people are having to face unpleasant truths about themselves. And how do they hold? How do we hold that things that we don't love that we are seeing in ourselves? Yes out just going into reactively in dismay and depression and like Oh my God How do we do that? We do that by being willing to have some self compassion and tenderness and often you know these might sound like soft fuzzy things but they are not their strengths their spiritual strength and powers that we actually co todate when we are doing meditation and spiritual practices of other kinds. You know we cultivate date these strengths. So I think that question on you know. It's like grief I there's I call it. Crooked grief. Grief comes out in all kinds of ways it comes out as irritation. I saw this cartoon. Where the woman sang to her husband. Couldn't you just blink more quietly everything you do irritate me right now? You know getting on each other's nerves is the sort of mildest orm of it But that kind of short fuse and irritation and agitation. It's it's also one of the ways that grief comes out and you guys that you have cameras and saw the house or something truly. That is the most incite. You've been watching us for the last couple of weeks. That's incredible that is the description of it right now. That is your living it to Dunkin. Ni- you to really we are but we have. We have been blessed by whatever. Weird Karma made us devote our lives to doing these practices. Now is our time where they're coming in handy and we can actually say to people you know what we're going to what you're going through but it works works and of course everything works. Walking Nature Works Making love. You can with somebody or you know loving yourself. Tenderly these things help How you know tell you just what you just said. I feel like a huge weight is lifted off of me is knowing that you are able to just do that list without having had a conversation with a lot longer and that's that's it crooked grief. That's it he's just tiny little things seem so how right now. And then our that creates a sort of feedback loop or you know rare because that thing seems loud if you address it and just addressing the things seems loud or and then everything becomes temporarily screaming. This is us and then we realized yeah baby when you're we can't be like this and then we hugged and we were back to normal but what we got. We got lots of showing your baby people can blow up and still love each other. The best thing you can show your baby or one of them. Many of us never saw our parents fight ever but at the same time. We never saw other things that we needed to see from them. Loves RIGHT SUBROTO FEELS SO guilty like if you guys lose it and make up getting to see oh okay. That was scary but now they love each other again. This is this is okay. I read that next time at so wonderful. That's so great I mean just. Is Everything your medicine? Thank you everything you're saying is my ego is so big and so crazy and I just WanNa be this her. I don't know who I think I'm acting like. So might apocalyptic highway right now. You know I've said things like you gotta you know we. We must be strong. I ended up talking. These weird like now is the time we have to be strong now. This is the time for strength not weakness. They ended the game. There's this my egos was reacting to it. It's like worse but you can see that it's your ego reacting. What a great thing that you can see that Dunkin right. You know. That's not all of who you are. You can see. Oh okay. This is a little deluded but but I'm you know we're under threat. We feel threatened and so the EGO turns it into a battle and a war. And I've got to be a strong warrior But what is the warrior really? And what is strong really right? It's I get it strong. As having the guides to it was someone who's freaking out and not try to change them or teach them or urge rewire them. Why airing engine or something or well. I hope you'll listen to your own. Podcast that was beautiful. I don't listen to this at Orly. Yeah Love The you know. egos mostly based on sere. So you just have to recognize that and see. It's freaked me out and say okay. You're afraid that's fine at the end of the day and I said this on a number of other occasions in podcast I sit to meditate regional center together often. And what I know this when I do is I go through the day. And I'm doing my teaching and podcasts and writing busy cooking dusing Were Way Busier. My Gosh it's crazy. What's up as we have to find a way to regulate? It's not that easy actually. Because it's also there's a lot of need they're not like we have to save anybody. It's just what's best anyway. I said at the end of the day and I checked into my body and my heart my mind and when I feel my body I I feel the places of tension fight flight. Freeze my shoulders. My jaw all the places we we hauled it. If we don't let ourselves feel it. Builds EH accumulates have become Rijn and much quicker to react. You know. We're like this soldier. That's on alert. Why feel my body? I feel the hall of it and I say show me what you're carrying and I make space to let it open with the loving awareness. Let me feel the tension as deep as it is a big. These are and once I've given some time for my body to show me what it's carrying to feel it directly then at some point agreeing in compassion and I say let me hold this the web. What a child who's right struggled hurt was with real compassion and then finally I say thank you. Thank you for trying to protect me. Thank you for kind of hold it together. I'm okay for now. I'm really okay and I find that my body yours at Msg those oh I can step all the laws. Stop the war. I can step off the battlefield on my heart and I discovered even though I was paying attention in the day. There's a deeper grief and sadness or there's fear there's anger or rage or you know all those huge emotions along with longing and loneliness love all those and say all right heart. Shall we what you're carrying and a name it gently? Oh year fear you know anger? Anger is a show me up and I can feel the explosion of those emotions is now on and I give them space in the interesting thing is when you give space to your experience and it gets bigger and more intense and you let it it gets bigger and bigger and then it softens as you're not resisting you then it's offense and agreeing compassion. And I say they're they're you know. Let me hold all these emotions. Like I've wanted crying child a frightened child. I say thank you thank you. You're trying to protect me. I'm okay for now and I do the same for my mind. All the stories intensity and so forth and went arms image that I'm still the same person in the still the same difficulties we find ourself in but I somehow clear and steadier. I've become the witness to it. I become loving. Awareness can see all this and allow it and not be swept away by it and I feel instead with this connection who place of steadiness this courage relieves arch to be present for life and be present for those of you talked to and love and the things. Carava and you. Are you doing this once a day? You do this when you wake up and at night. How often do y'all do this together? We don't do it together. That much usually at the end of the day is when we would do it together. We wake up at different times and we have different rhythms of like. I usually go a lot earlier than Jack on just by nature but the main thing is for people to realize to do as many times days you can do to kind of step back received what's happening not feel like we have to change it or do something about it and to at that you know in in that moment to offer some love to offer some kind of Wish for our health and happiness. Like I've been leading this meditation where you go through the whole body and experience you wish loves to parts of your body may my ed be happy may shoulders relax be happy he may Nazi happy. It sounds silly. But it actually is positive and strengthening for the immune system every time we incline our hearts in a direction of caring instead of terror And that's a choice that we can make whenever we catch ourselves in the grip of terror and I think what Jack was saying. You know about how you would comfort a little child. I mean that is so much way. Our awareness can function when your baby cries you know. How do you teach a baby how to be with itself and how to be with its own being by holding it through all the things? It's going through when a baby cries and freaks out as parents. We don't just like walk them like you. We hold them instead we comfort though and they learn that Oh there is some steadiness presence that you can weather the various emotional storms. That got right. You know that it's weather. It's like motion weather and so.

"You this you know our body doesn't WanNa die. I WANNA die. I WANNA be here for my daughter and my grandson for my beloved trudy. Also you know I'm almost seventy five years old and I feel in some ways very grateful that I had a very soul lice and I'm not so afraid to die I also know that the body doesn't want even if I know why in spirit and I've had out of the body experiences and sat with people were dying in a clinically died and left their body and floated into lighten and came back and described it to the things. I know about dying. Give me a great sense of Of Kishan. That mystery not that I understand it all but I know that who I am is not just this. And you're given a certain amount of time in this incarnation. That's one part of the equation and to know that makes hard work miserable to know that who you are spirit that you can never not love your your child. Whether you're year in body were not. You are the Guardian. You are the love that whole stack then. Nothing can take that away from you right at the same time. I also know that this body wants to stay alive in it should for family and things and even if I get sick it's GonNa stay alive and I respect that you know might panic at my whole all those names and that also are you many carnation. We are in that way you know spiritual beings born our spirit or consciousness. Ornamented his body and will leave. It were meager than the human life. We're actually the web of life coming through us. But also we are this body in some way identified for this incarnation. And that's why he comes in. Fort also a loves deeply because this is the only place where you can love in the particulars of your wife and you were your child. You know. It's the only place in the whole galaxy where you can eat baked Alaska. You know he and the beach in Thailand as you are right now and it's magnificent and where we are somehow we're also in stream. "It I get it. And then the teaching of course. This is where the teacher who've been. Permanence is not just terrifying. Because we're going to die and that's you know. Human birthright is our mortality. Yes but it's also that if we're willing to be with a feeling it does not stay it can't even if we wanted it to. It does not stay it changes. It doesn't always change into bliss. And so that's something else. I think what Jack was talking about was not sort of fighting with reality. This is our reality right now and right now is the only time we actually have. That's the only time it's actually real. Actually real is that we're ally and we're not sick and we have love in our lives and you know what's real what would be offered by lice in this particular moment if we don't fast forward into the future at all is not all bad and it's not all scary and so to be able to redirect the attention and open our hearts to the beauty that's being offered not to be in denial or face to Smiley face on scary stuff but justice. See them more holistic whole integrated picture of what life actually is as opposed to our thoughts about it like you said. What's beyond the Brent? GimMe something that's you know beyond the breath like a a breath. Breath can't hold a candle to my crazy thinking right. Yes but the breakfast actually more real then that crazy thinking and when were willing to actually feel it and get into it and receive it and wait for a minute? The emotion were caught in will. Relax will me lack so Cole? I'm aware of this can be with this. It will relax. You know to impulse to protect your wife to protect your child man. I got a call from my daughter And I would go anywhere you know. She said Daddy. I'm in Cambodia. I'm in trouble. I just get on the next airplane. She's married to a firefighter in an urban fire department. And they have a little like you. They have a one after. All child might are grants as men and US. They don't have protected with which means that when they go out You know eighty percent of their workers medical halls without being exposed and then they'll pass it onto the family and they're young and they're strong and they'll probably get through it. I said well. We'll test you and he said you know they don't WanNa test. Everybody said they need all hands on deck. They mean all they're far all right. Here's a moment you know where I feel helpless and uncertain like you and so forth and what I have to do is think of you and all of this the compassionate heart and say we're all in this together. Everybody who is aging parents. Everybody who's worried for children from the neighbor who runs a little. The data in that little learn the quarter might lose their livelihood and and seal that we can all these with Cotonou Compassionate heart those who are vulnerable and suffering in all of us. We're in this together and when I do then instead of trying to fix something I can't as things are uncertain trying to manage in control of his dad. Who's GonNa fix things? I can't do that now. What I can do is hall with compassion and then I can respond. I can all I can do. Trees had when you sit next to your wife trying to fix it. You'd say yeah or in this year you an awesome lynch. She feels that you're steady. You can go. We all go through this together so beautiful the I honestly the opposite. I'm Blake to show her. I'm never been hanging lights. You know Jay assembling things and doing horrible carpentry projects and some sad attempt to convey some form of protective masculinity an. It's it's not working but hey it's a good thing it's just not good. If that's all you do wait construction projects that and then we get invited. And I'm like don't you see I hung on? Why don't you see? I needed a sword. You Know Milo Amano with a virus you know I would. I would and we all would and I think that you know what's even scarier. Sometimes for many. Many humans is to go into a sad frightened. Desperate depressed grief-stricken emotions of each other at a trying to and that's real compassion. Compassion means that willingness to be in the suffering with each other without getting overwhelmed and disabled and lost in it because otherwise essentially we are doing other things that are easier or more comfortable for us to do and just sit with somebody's despair. Azhar that is. It's a lot easier. Dang alight and wow okay I get it out. Of course that's it and it's you know you hear it. Sounds so on one level laws easy to sit with someone and hold them. But it's not it is. That's where the awareness practice and willingness to be present with things and let them arise pass away. That's where the practice actually helps shows us how to do that. And you know I also I get. I don't know about Erin but what helps me is some of the creative and uplifting things that humans are doing within for each other right now. I want to read you something that I got. It's from Belfast. Ireland Kovin team and it's called Love in action and they said when you go out and you see the empty streets empty stadiums the empty train platforms. Don't stay to yourself. This looks like the end of world. What you're seeing is love in action. What you're seeing in that negative space is how much we do care for each other. Our grandparents our parents are brothers and sisters. The people we will never even meet people will lose jobs over this somewhat lose their businesses in their dreams and some will lose their lives. All the more reason to take a moment when you're out on your walk or on your way to the store or just watching the news so look into the emptiness and marvel at all that love let it ill you and sustain you. It isn't the end of the world. It's the most remarkable act of global solidarity. We may ever witness miss. Another perspective is beautiful. It's so beautiful. It's so beautiful. Still heartbreaking better gun apart bring your you know he finally stopped. I know one thing for sure. We've got a question is and we've been main street. We've just been shooting up. Assure now right in there and as helping and here is not. It's a very bad thing to do. It's bad medicine you can look at. The News. Is Dean Minister there watching watching all emotion but honestly read it shoot cheesy? You're GONNA shoot anything. No ghost ship. The News and TV can watch some funny movies but instead read this game. Minutes at the new to the rest of it is just commentary and most of its risen with that intense emotion. It's unprocessed of people's fight flight zero trees right and all this confusion and they're trying to make sense of something that's really a mystery. We're actually in the face of one of the great mysteries of our human life. And Are you meeting our nation? The mystery time on certainty and the lack of separation where we felt we were separated are actually dropping away. And there's a kind of Trudy Talk Mel a remarkable thing that's happening in our isolation we see how connected we are how much we need each other. And so if you can tolerate that the uncertainty and the mystery which just as a little. Ps He s actually homes uncertain. We we think we know. But we don't announce railway visible to open the window of tolerance at the heart to say yes. This is the great mystery and we are now only hands again there in this history and allowed somehow in folding it if find within ourselves rape heart of compassion that is our birthright. That is who we are. We can do this and we have done this. We know when a baby is born. When you're little baby was born. Our first response is loved when a deer one dies the hand we hold as a gesture law. Timeless love and awareness is who you really are now is the time to know. Listen trusting and so wonderful here. It's you know we watched a mister Rogers documentary last night. This is our final break from the news and we cried through the whole thing. Yes feeling much better. Yeah an embarrassment. He was a saint. I watch yesterday. Rogers have sheets Dunkin Europe Mr Rogers on the PODCAST. You're Mr Rogers. No when I look at you I feel close to you and I feel like the little two and three year olds. Watch Mr Rogers when he would say you know high. They say hi back to him. That are the child in each one of us. This feeling overwhelmed and to helpless in two little dacoven. Yes juice or you know the one thing. I love about him in this documentary. I didn't even realize how edgy his show was and how he wasn't afraid to confront exactly what was happening in the world directly. Not Having it or anything I do love that into to mirror that in some way shape or form I must say. Part of what's really devastating. Knee right now is not just my sense of ineptitude when it comes to you know comforting my family but also chugging. Mrs Kind of you were saying I really in fact. I'm dying no matter. What and Democrat. Not and I haven't felt this since I got cancer. You know like I haven't been having to deal with this like I'm way older than Aaron. Clearly way older than my son and so. I'm just thinking my God. This is no matter what it's slipping away and something about the pandemic is when I'm not earning away from it into making cornbread or something or acing lamp. I'm dealing with his sense of my God. I don't want I want. I WANNA leave my kid. I don't want you know so I don't. I don't know where the question is how I'll die.

"Hello my sweet pandemic friends. Hope you're hanging in. There is time progresses. I've noticed that I'm becoming increasingly tweet. It weird moments sometimes. I feel fine sometimes. I realized that two days have passed. And it's actually been a couple of hours times. All warped in wobbled right now. A lot of us are feeling Bizarre undulations between states extreme panic claustrophobia and downright boredom of the most vicious poisonous and vile variety. We might be in a situation where we're living with people that we normally don't see as much as we and we're experiencing some kind of satanic friction. We might be understanding. What Jean Paul Sartre Torment? When he said Hell is other people or we might be completely alone in the frigid wasteland of our apartments or empty honed experiencing frosting kind of pandemic induced. Horny nece with no one or nothing to help us release all that fast powerful almost nuclear sexual energy my friends. The planet isn't a we were time period right now and it's during these times that we most certainly oh a gigantic. Thank you to all those folks who are right now out there on the front lines and By those folks I'm talking about the drug dealers were fearlessly delivering. I'm just kidding making a dumb joke. I guess in a weird way. They are drug dealers. The doctors the nurses the clinicians. The delivery drivers the people who are working at the walgreens in the routes and the and whatever you're grocery store happens to be the people working in the Amazon warehouses. And if I if I missed you I am so deeply. Sorry whoever you are. That's out there making a living and making money. You can feed your family while simultaneously putting yourself at risk of inhaling the doom cough of some unwitting host of a brand new virus. We are eternally indebted to you. And if I were the Grand Emperor of Planet Earth which one day I intend to be. I would give every single one of you. Beautiful Silver medallions and special magical crowns. That instantaneously evaporated your morning hangovers or made it so that you could actually have an orgasm in the midst of a high-powered ecstasy trip. I would do everything I could for you. But because I'm not capable of those things and have not yet risen the throne of Glory. Which one day. I hope to rise to her. At least my great conquering Sun will rise do so. At last I can have vengeance on my enemies and bring my friends. Great vast swath of land across the planet which we will rename after characters from the dark tower series. The Best I can do is offer you conversations like the one in this podcast with Jack Cornfield and Trudy Goodman. They are on their own kind of front lines in right now because they have not just talk the talk but walk the walk for decades. When it comes to meditation. Mindfulness and spirituality. They have the incredible ability. Alka MI's all of mine erotic fear panic and general anger and anxiety that seems to be resulting from this particular global pandemic that we all find ourselves stuck within. This is one of my favorite podcasts. And one of my favorite conversations that I've ever had and if anything speaks to what happens if you dedicate yourself to an actual authentic spiritual practice. It's these two ability to gracefully and instantaneously ease fear and panic and to somehow simultaneously. Give me an whoever's lucky enough to get to chat with them The fuel necessary to give ourselves a break. Come on everybody. How're you supposed to be act normal right now in a situation that seems to be mirroring? The book of revelations is it the end of the world. No I don't think so but sometimes my mind. Thanks so if that makes any sense at all and this conversation the yearbook to listen to certainly eased a lot of the weirdness and wobbly knees that. I've been feeling gave me some pragmatic tools that I've been using ever since I had this chat to deal with those moments where it feels like a horrific of Biz has opened up inside of my body which my ass is getting sucked into. If you've been feeling any version of that then I think you will benefit from listening to this great conversation with Jack Cornfield and Trudy Goodman. We're going to jump right into it right after this much thanks to squarespace for sponsoring this episode of the D. T. F. H. If you WanNa let your eyes look into something so beautiful it's being compared to the contents of the Ark of Covenant Currently House Beneath The Vatican. Then go no further than Duncan Trussell DOT com. And you'll see a squarespace website. That's right every single time. I upload one of these episodes I use squarespace to do the job. They've got everything you need. And what better time than during a global pandemic to start on the website for your business urged to refine that pulsating pile of liquefied ancien html that used to cool back in the mid nineties but now looks like it was vomited out of the mouth of some rotting android and opposed to pack elliptic wasteland. Let's get the Internet. More beautiful squarespace can help you do that. They've got everything you need. I will admit that at one point in time. I actually took money from people to help them build websites. I shouldn't have done that. I was using my small knowledge of html meeting a lot of hubris in desperation. The result is I- sullied the Internet with some half-baked websites that honestly. I should refund the money of the people that I took it from what they used to make websites anymore. Because I don't need to know because I use squarespace in squarespace is flawless and seamless. It will build a website that will size to any phone or device out there. It will build a website with shopping cart functionality. And if you have a mailing list or want to gather a mailing list they will help you send out mass males to your adoring beloved fans and clients. I know someone who actually sells their socks online and make money doing that and if they can make money doing that then surely you have some article of clothing some sweat and crusted garment that you could put for purchase.

"That they're superior to us but anyway no I'm just joking thank you what's amazing to win his how you can't even think about war during this episode on this planet it's almost as if he Trudy in war has taken a backseat yes yes and and that's when in the teachings of this is to bring us into our hearts and she'll really love and concern for everyone that's because we're all in this together no one's skipping maybe if you're on a remote island that no one goes to you are but I mean you know it's spread all over the world and everyone's dealing with it it's a bizarre thing I can't believe it started with one person I just can't there's something else weird here let's go to Mickey in queens New York Mickey welcome to the program good morning George good morning and hi thank you I did I'm going to go very quickly I right S. is like a little sadness in your voice I don't know what that is I grew up Catholic surrounded by bad it is lotus right now my understanding of karma is like right now on cleaning I like it taking a Cup of water cleaning back up the water and then pouring it back into the ocean at thirty right also how how can I protect myself from psychic vampires I have a friend who told me that I'm not still issue now my father told me so once I was on a good model well he you know he he was he made regarding a dictatorship only work for the government at the time and it was a battle could be in keeping he was just divide it at night he maybe sometimes people take advantage of that I've had before but we made some innocent but sometimes I think I need to get more of it backbone is you protect yourself against psychic vampires and well again you know in some ways you're open to loving heart is one of the protections but to consciously protect your field from those kind of beans by using either your guides and depending on people's spiritual traditions there thinks and you know and their deities center protecting you doesn't have to necessarily be a power and a little bit to know that all of us have protective energy around us but we fail to utilize it so to do that and also to send love to the psychic vampire because love is more powerful than the negative energies and so that can help sort of sealed the person with that tendency to wanna suck people's energies out I mean again it's a question of whether it's unconscious and whether it's intentional nicer trip to different things when I also wanted to applaud you for taking the water and sealing it and putting it back into the ocean because we need to be sending positive energy into the ocean and many people I kind of saw office will going to practices for healing the ocean you know in ceremony and with people all over the world doing that to train here he on the vibration concise science can kill vibrations they also wanted to comment on your hearing found this in my voice partially it's that I got up in the middle of the night but you're not you're not used to these horses are how and the other part though is that there is a great sadness at what everyone's experiencing even there may be positive results in the shift in consciousness which is hopeful that that won't happen that we will see the folly in feeding each other and being mad at someone because they're a different race or gender or whatever that and then there's still sadness at the loss the town right now and in and the suffering of people and especially the first responders they're risking their life and finding the courage to get out there and do what they do every day so and hospital staff people definitely up in the hospital right I mean all right I consider them my first response very soon the two that they're dealing with that yeah let's go to Joe Long Island New York welcome to the program a Joseph and I have two concepts that Morse psychology like the idea of attitude when you're trying to make corrections or adjustments sometimes if they don't work quite how you want to you get maybe a bad attitude about the whole a gender of what you're telling like even he was saying like how they I thought you might look like a vampire at night and you took that in stride but that could have given you a bad attitude but you realize Hey I'm just checking out other cultures and in our the you know I'd expect maybe some unusual reactions and then the second thing I'd ask is when you want to like Malaysia Borneo like heavy loosen the reins to say Hey I'm going to do something different and I'm going to try it and I'm sure you know whether that just stick with the usual thinking stay local like a lot of money or whatever you know well I think in terms of the your last question and by the time I answered that she may have to repeat the first question but the the it's I think it's like a call like I had this desire to do and I've always had a desire to travel into it I explore the world's it's part of my nature and for some people doing that seems scary and they have no interest in it and so I think a lot depends on listening to what's really inside you and so many people do what they're told to do thank you to death and then you do that and then you get a job in many Merion have you know I need you all these things in your told us that you're supposed to do and some people like feeling comfortable fitting in finance and you follow it that part of winning hoping that people will get from my work is that we can choose what we want to do more than we think we can and we can realize the ways in which where earnest by certain beliefs I remember after I come back from the Peace Corps and I was gardening and I was outside and I was aware that I had two voices in my hand one less my true voice and the other was on the things I've been told to think and believe and I had to spend time to reconcile filing those meetings is saying is well it's true with attitude adjustment thank our attitudes our energy and you can wake up feeling and because maybe you had a bad dream are you have something to do I'm comfortable and you can shift your energy if you're aware that you can move your energy around that you don't have to say you can you know dance do yoga or do something and go outside and take a walk in it can shift I attitude if we shift the energy so they kind of go together so when my attitudes off kilter I train shift the energy in some land and understand why it got off kilter I don't know does that answer your questions let's go back to his first one again Joe go ahead yeah okay so say someone goes on you know woman goes on three dates and all the guys are kind of died since he says has a bad attitude towards the fourth guy and brings that spring fed to the situation the amounts to globalize is that the first free experience is kind of you know you know the Dennis and her attitude towards the whole idea of going on dates is is what's your question yeah in other words how do you prevent that spill over of bad experience spilling over into the next dance well the first one is to recognize it I mean some people do try dating and we need to find people they don't resonate with a given month and other people saying I'm gonna keep going don't give up right right so I mean it it's that some people if you have been liner tried things in bands slack back online you might venture out and then you get your hands France and you go right back in so it's realizing that and energetic pattern that you hold no I don't know how if you're the person on the date with this person how you shift there if anything she that's a little more challenging but you can always use humor and just sort of like yeah I understand how tired when you keep needing to contact you don't resonate with that you know let's try and do it clean slate you know you can kind of play with it a little bit but some people aren't ready instead they hide even though they think they're ready six if you know if if you're really ready you can draw people to you let's go to Donna and mesa Arizona hi Donna thanks for calling yeah good morning N. Arizona the river Massachusetts originally and we chose very tortured we were drowned in jobs will when I as we were left in the woods and then my mother drove away and oh my god it was so horrible I was she had a truck driver mile I only had a third grade education and stay back three times and yet I have a pension that I worked at Honeywell and I'm a quality control I used to clean toilets for a living and and my inner voice always told me your brain is so much more than what everybody told you it was and I worked very hard in the Alcoa wheels I walked on you well every day and it was like a hundred and sixteen hundred seventeen degrees in July and August everybody which I made I will make it you'll be fired and I proved them all wrong I have a few all around the spirit all around me constantly my beautiful mother in law told me her name is Bonnie she says somebody's been watching over you she was a little girl I had accepted Jesus when I was just seven years old and I even had a spirit come see me almost four years in October of this year my little spirit when I was seven years old in nineteen sixty I had higher already sell somebody that all you need to go away in the back of the box and I was only seven so I didn't know who it was what you end up not didn't come to find out why can't I do myself all my life because we were not allowed to be at the kitchen table my mother never hated what I'd suggest Faisal and I had to open and he knows that mobile homes days down there when all the horrible I slept on the advanced place twenty two years of my life and now when I'm online first and then come to find out it was rose okay she Hey I don't even know who she was seven years that's amazing refused to take a seat in the back of the bus at it was like three years ago still a little this would help you with John I knew Rosa when she moved to Detroit before she passed on and she literally changed the face of civil rights overnight Donna thanks were at a break we'll come back with a final calls with and Drake.

Apple changes Crimea map to meet Russian demands

"Last week I said apple had a potentially difficult decision coming up in Russia if the company's latest action there is any indication. A lot of people probably won't like it's decision. The story story last week was of a new Russian law that would require apple to ship. IPHONES IPADS Max. And other devices to be sold in Russia with Russian Shen made APPS preinstalled lawmakers in the country say the inclusion is simply to ensure parody to make sure that people know of russian-made alternatives lives to largely Western apps. Those opposed to the law. Worry that the Russian APPS will be used to spy on the citizenry. If apple wants to keep selling devices in Russia it seems it will have to comply hence a potentially difficult decision when the law goes into effect in July of twenty twenty. I say a lot of people probably won't like it's likely decision based on a move made by the company last week the BBC ran a piece saying apple. All has complied with Russian demands. To show the annexed Crimean Peninsula as part of Russian territory on its APPs reminding readers of the issue the BBC says Russian forces annexed Crimea from Ukraine and March two thousand fourteen drawing international condemnation until recently family apple showed Crimea as part of Ukraine. And if you check your map it probably still does. While the State Duma. The lower house of Russia's is parliament says Crimea and Sevastopol now appear on apple devices as Russian territory. Apparently only true for devices set to use the APP store her for Russia according to the report apple had been in talks with Russia for several months over what the State Duma described as inaccuracy in the way Crimea was labeled labeled the company had wanted to show Crimea as undefined territory part of neither Russia nor Ukraine. It was at that point that Russian authorities authorities reminded apple that labelling Crimea as part of Ukrainian territory was a criminal offence under Russian law. Now it's part Russia as far as apple's concerned as long as you're inside Russia while the BBC piece was written before apple offered comment. Philip Philip Elmer dewitt's apple three dot had the Cupertino Company offering a statement. That side had trudy Muller Apple Senior Director. PR saying we would. I'd like to clarify for our customers around the world that we have not made any changes to apple maps regarding Crimea outside of Russia where a new law went into effect it requires us to update the map within Russia we review international law as well as relevant. US and other domestic laws before making a determination and labeling Our maps and make changes if required by law.

Sen. Kamala Harris Introducing Bill to Mandate PrEP Coverage

"The key thing is that it would require public and private insurance plans to offer prep for people who have a prescription, of course, without a copay, it would be free. The Bill would also ensure that testing services are also covered because if you're on prep, you typically have to get an HIV test every three months, it would also make it illegal for insurance companies. For instance, life insurance companies to charge higher premiums for people who take this drug and beyond that it would offer grants to states, territories, and tribes to help with drug and testing access for Americans without health insurance. The Bill specifies three hundred million dollars in grants spread across five years for that. And last up Harris's Bill would require the CDC to help raise awareness of this drug within the LGBTQ community. Let me read from article by Trudy ring in the advocate that lays out how Harris. Bill goes beyond the current plan for providing prep coverage in the US, quote, the US preventive services task force, and independent panel of medical experts recommended this month, the people who were at a significant risk of acquiring HIV, take prep. The recommendation means the private insurance companies will have to cover prep without cost sharing for those individuals by twenty twenty one as under the Affordable Care Act insurers half to cover preventive services.

The the the house the house has said that if the Democrats get in power they are going to investigate this capping off situation. Even further Asia, they're gonna continue their investigation. I get right last FBI to take it up. Okay. Now, if the FBI finds that he lied, which is a felony. He lied to the Senate. Can they then indict him? What is what is the procedure following that? They cannot indict him. He's a constitutional authority just as the president of the United States. They will have to impeach him. They cannot arrest him. They cannot indict him. He's immune to common law, but they can impeach him. Which is an allowable process under the US constitution. However, we had never in history of this nation impeach any body for something. They did before they were in that office. Okay. Now, let me ask you this. This is am I wrong here? Or does it take? The senate. I mean, the the house of representatives can't unilaterally impeach him. They have to go to the Senate and the Senate have to pass it. Senate. Yeah. And it has to be. Yeah. The Senate has to be convened for that. Okay. And they have to pass it on a high margin to sixty four to something. I think I don't know what the margin is. It is a constitutional amendment at margin in order for impeachment. But remember impeachment is a process what you really want to do is get to removal, so it removal takes even more. So impeachment happens, I which is the prerequisite for removal, they don't necessarily have to remove him after a peach mint because look at who was impeach Bill Clinton was actually impeach. He was never removed. So it's not the same. But it is a precursor to ultimate removal if they choose to. I appreciate your call. Thank you. Bye..
