"Everybody. I'm Hillary Howard. Our top local story is the coming deluge. What's left of tropical storm Nicole is spanning northward and by the time it spins out of here, some areas will be waterlogged, wind driven rain could add up to one or two inches in some places, let's laser in on the timing. The rainfall amounts and the risk of tornadoes with storm team four's Chad Merrill, Chad, what do you know? Well, so far Hillary and John what we've seen is about an inch to an inch and a half of rain across the region and right now it's pretty quiet. It's a calm before the second part of the storm. We do have showers and storms lined up along I 95 from Richmond all the way down into southeast Virginia and these storms have the potential to produce a brief tornado. There's a tornado watch in effect from Fredericksburg into southern Virginia. These particular storms are moving off towards the north and east, so we'll bypass Washington out of the south, but could cross into the Chesapeake Bay into the southern Maryland. So if your travels do take you south towards ocean city, you'll run into these occasional showers and storms, but later stay after about four or 5 o'clock into the evening is when the showers and storms will multiply a bit across our region and that's when we have the risk for a brief tornado or severe thunderstorm and some ponding of water on the roadway. That system finally lifts out by the time we get to early tomorrow and then the bottom drops out with temperatures late this weekend. I will detail the forecast in detail coming up in just a few minutes. All righty, thank you so much, John. I'll look at John in just a moment. You betcha, honestly, temperatures are gonna be right on our seasonal average today. The average high for today's date is 61 and I'm gonna forecast 60°, so pretty much right on the money. It's sunny now, temperatures are in the upper 40s to around 50° already. And there's not even too much of a breeze to contend with today. So a nice day ahead. Tomorrow also not a bad day for November, temperatures will actually climb to near 70 tomorrow as clouds come in. Those clouds are coming up with a low to moisture. It's still tropical storm Nicole for now, but it is likely as it crosses the Gulf Stream as it approaches Florida, likely to intensify. The ocean water temperatures here off the eastern shore beaches are down into the upper 50s, but down off the coast of Florida, those ocean water temperatures are still above 80°, so this store will have no trouble maintaining or perhaps gaining a little strength as it makes a run onto the Florida coastline late tonight, then that slug of tropical moisture is going to be shoved northbound in a hurry. There's a very strong cold front well to our west over the upper Midwest now. That front will force the moisture up the I 95 corridor, so dry weather today and tomorrow, the perfect opportunity to make sure all of your storm drains are not covered up by fallen leaves because it one to two inches of rain is likely here during the day on Friday. First drops arrive in the morning commute and some periods of heavy rain Friday afternoon and late evening. Again, a solid one to two inches looks pretty likely around here on Friday, the drier weather moves in for the weekend, Saturday afternoon will be sunny and breezy. Temperatures falling through the 50s, Sunday will be blustery and cold with temperatures on the 40s on Sunday afternoon. I'm storm team four, meteorologist chuck bell for WTO.
