"Only twenty-five mcavoy's, twenty four coils twenty-nine, so, they've got guys, and they've got guys on, like a good contracts were good players, they're going to compete the level of which they compete is going to be. I think their their goalie situation is going to be a lot because their backup goalie, jaroslav halak is also up for re-signed, so both are starting to promote them. They're everyday goalies. Need new contracts. How would you compare Boston to Pittsburgh? I would think Pittsburgh's and a much worse situation where they're a little bit older and there is I guess this is Pittsburgh's older, right? I mean, I would say I've been better. Goaltending issue, right now, like Tristan Jarry is is Pittsburgh's I guess I'll say, like, everyday goaltender, they've got Jerry and, and Casey desmith who, you know, was not, it's not great either. Those guys are very good. Frankly, and goaltending is going to continue be an issue, but I mean, they've committed a jar, a three and a half million dollars for the next two years after 1. So, unless he makes a serious step, this is not going to be a team that I think can be a serious competitor until they can fix this goaltending situation. Again, what that's jargon making a leap and suddenly that three and half million goes from bad to good value or they're able to find money, you know. Elsewhere, this is a team that also, you know, their final cap, they spent to the cap because they've got two guys making over over eating home. $10 a year and Malkin and Crosby and Crosby is 33 years old is one bad hit away from never playing again and he's got four more years at eight and a half million eight point seven million cuz he wears 87. That's he'd literally off for eight point seven million dollars a year because he wears number 87. Now, I look at the Winnipeg Jets and I I see LeBron James with Cleveland where, you know, Cleveland didn't support him and they walk every year they hit a wall or I think Russell Wilson in Seattle, is a great. Another example, of a team that has a great quarterback, a Hall of Fame player, a generational player, that's kind of, maybe once in a franchise, you ever get a guy that founded, but they don't support him and they make the playoffs every year because of him, but they always say to sealing Winnipeg the Jets feel the same way, they've got Connor hellebuyck. This incredible goalie That's it. So what's next for Winnipeg? I mean is it just just going to be a cycle year and where we talk about? Wow, amazing. And then that's it. It's just like they've got a.

"Okay, and we are back here. Again, we're sitting on a solid solid for shots that Tristan Jarry his face and his already given up two goals. I guess that he did not make a safe to give up the juiciest Rebound in the history of hockey. But, you know, was it really a safe? Let's talk out for insane goon so I assume that you've watched them a pretty real amount of him cuz I sent you a couple of games where I was like, holy shit. This guy is maybe something different than what we thought. Hm, yes, I've dug back into two more games as well. Yes, I only get there. He'll help me get there. I know always like a top ten guy for you. I'm just I'm not quite there as a as a top ten guy, and I'll let you kind of intro. I want to steal your thunder but I need a, I need a fantasy, any cell on him? Yeah. So early in the season, I was a little bit more worried about him being. He's definitely like a pick-and-roll big who was really good around the bat. Basket and was really good at finding little like gaps in areas in coverage, has to be able to just get a lot of points and rebounds right thigh great feel for the ball, having great feel and a nose for the basket. Really is improved as footwork to the point where he is not like an athlete by NBA standard wage anything but good enough possible. Right? What we seen in the last month from him is a little bit different because he started to actually like create off the bounce in a straight line. He's starting to actually be able to get to the rim as a perimeter attacking big, not just like a okay, I need a screen and then to be able to roll or screen and short roll drive, like some of the things he's doing grabbing and going and transition. Some of the things he's doing just like catching the ball at the top of the key driving and then like kicking out his passing ability off. As really showcased itself over the course of the last. I would say month, realistically, and he looks a lot more comfortable as a parameter big than what I thought he was, having seen him having. I mean, I've watched a lot of his tape, I probably watched I don't know, five hundred six hundred minutes of his tape at this point and I am very much impressed. Others say five hundred games, like, I don't know if those are out there. If there are you're on some like dark web website. Finding them cuz I dark web turkey. Alperin schengrund. Yeah, that's that's not good for you for your search history, but I'm an agreement with you. Like, you had that one move that, that I tweeted, he kind of did it inside out trouble and finish and I was like, oh that's that's different, he's still kind of has this tendency to turn his back from the perimeter and back down just comfortable doing that in the last I'd say 2 or Thursday. Three games..

"That's right. There's no like exactly what you're saying there. There's no new info in the launch date is November 1st will play so and so at this arena in Atlanta followed by Roadtrip playing this team and that team and maybe the first thing they're trying to do is actually build the roster. They put out feelers to a lot of people and and tests kind of a widish net to hit their numbers of what it would be but I haven't seen anything and usually look to try to figure out what they made play and I'm kind of drawn a blank too. Well, yeah. And like the other thing is that they're kind of branding themselves as a transformative Sports League, not as like a wage Couple of teams that will play outside of the league, you know what I mean? Sure, so and it's just it's just different too because when we think about life, really ignite, which it's not like sister programs, maybe, like, cousins, I guess because it's still a, a professional route. So for a guy like we've talked about a little bit scooter Henderson who was he's a guard. Very tough hard-nosed Guard from Georgia, Kell High School. He was debating going to Auburn to be getting playing for overtime. Going to G league night for him energy. They denied Thursday, already proof-of-concept with the league, and that is to steal a term used. It's a true minor-league ecosystem which includes real bona. Fide NBA competition. I saw a tweet yesterday or M days ago that the G League had nearly half the players in NBA playoffs with some experience in the G League which is kind of crazy when you think about it in a wild stat. And that's why I like if you suck And play for Jee tonight. You're playing the big boys. I mean we've we watched the them play and first game, they're playing Jordan Poole who's who's played his way up and his played significant minutes and meaningful games two thousand a year? There's no really nights off so there's already been established, you're going to get better cuz you're playing as NBA guys every night. That's probably more appealing for a guy like scoota to do that for two years because he won't be draft-eligible as opposed to taking a leap with a new company and ever, which can be enticing. But you just don't necessarily know where you're going to wind yet. And this could clarify itself off and maybe the season or maybe 60 days but it's just not there yet, it's not fully baked. Yeah, yeah. The good news is that Tristan Jarry gave up a goal on the first shot affect off. This is all going. You know what you should do with the the next step is. Well we'll do this on like YouTube and you don't have like your TV screen embedded in the top right-hand corner. So we can understand why your fist pumping while making points about wage. Clarity and the overtime Elite League well and I think scooters, really good too, by the way, like I I've seen that kids tape that kids awesome kids like a crazy athlete like super first step like has a real frame. I think to be able to play at the G League level. Like most point guards, I would be terrified of sending to that level off ASAP, right? Because oh sure there's something gets really, he's a really tough kid. Yeah, I don't think he's going to back down from competition and he thrives in that and all his games are are kind of must-see T in that area and that's always packed and ironically and I do sort of draft stuff to four declarations because you don't know when when a guy's going to declare or say he's going back to school. So I'll have a bunch of videos like lined up down the tweet and a had one because I thought he was going to sign with overtime saying Savvy signing by overtime, the lead to get scooted Henderson..

"Matthew penny is here, Matt. How's it going? Life is great, man. I'm happy to to be back, call back up and dusted off the microphone. Let's talk some draft stocks and hopes. This is a this is a special podcast because it will involve me in Penny doing a watch along party with the Pittsburgh Penguins as they're down, read it to us with the New York Islanders in this series. And I will be having a meltdown is Tristan Jarry decides to pass the puck, direct the Islanders and then have what looked like a borderline seizure. Trying to poke-check someone from fifty feet away. So that's when my parents what it's going. Well, yeah, that's funny, Pittsburgh Penguins story is I grew up outside of Boston, which I probably beat up and mentioned too much. But I was also a frontrunner. I was a big Mario Lemieux fan back in the day. So I went and saw off The Penguins play, the Bruins with the garden and my dad got me a a Pittsburgh jersey before the game. I was young, whatever seven years old and we're off the net maybe like seven or eight rows and Lemieux scored a goal. And I stood up and threw my arms in the air and I felt something heavy the back like a Bruins. Fan threw a piece of trash Chevy, welcome to Boston's a good. Oh my God, my car, I'd sit there. Why don't you take the Jersey off? I like a Bruins tee shirt on and then like the, the Mario Jersey over. It's like let's let's wear the t-shirt for the rest of the game. Was that your first hockey game ever? I don't think so. No, don't go to scarring, scarring moment. That forced me toward basketball, ultimately but not my first, I think, my favorite hockey moment is I went to a penguin, Senators, playoff game. Oh God, this had to be 2009. Ish range. And cuz this was even like before I could like legally khong, Frank and it might even been like 2007 and it was when Gary Roberts played for the Penguins and he scored two goals and the Penguins were up like five nothing and the entire or like Arena was chatting with scary Dairy. Cuz he was just like the forty year old man who looked like he could beat up everyone on the entire like set of two teams. And like, these people just drunk next to us, I'm talking, like, they've had to be 15 beers deep within the first within 2 and 1/2 hours and drinking. Right. Like trash drunk in the entire wage, and they were just spilling beer all over us. The entire way..

"I can feel it but you know you hear a lot of narratives around the lead, you know, the Leafs aren't that good? You hear like different little things from different parts than a week but you don't get to really see it a lot, whether it be because they're not on nationally or you know you're just busy with life or the Bruins are on at that same time. These are just see the tweets. And you don't really see like a too much of it. You see the same thing that's obviously which are pretty telling, but you don't physically see it. You don't see the full package and I think one of the funny parts of this Penguin series was like, you knew going in. Jerry, wasn't that great, right? Like you knew he was definitely going to have to be really like, I think someone said going to the series as long as he doesn't lose the many games, the Penguins will be all right. And then you actually watch every game in that series and it was like holy crap. He is awful awful and I loved black birds tweet of me watching. Tristan Jarry, it was westmacott flashes unable to play his position. That's that's perfect place. It really goes and it goes back to this. And we've said this before, you know, for the Bruins fans who really bitch about Rask, watch these other teams because the Penguins were a good team, there a good, that's not a bad team. And the other part of it. And we've, and you've said this all year, was you have Jeff Carter. Scored a bunch of goals. You have like, Cody, c, c and Mike Matheson playing like really well and you have all these guys who are typically not doing so hot or supposed to be on the back end of their careers. So I'm not even in the NHL who are playing like a Stanley Cup Contender. And then you have that in that, like, I was thinking this morning, would almost be like, like, what was the? What was the biggest weak Link in the Bruins this year? Most of the year is probably like jakub zboril, right? Like if Djokovic world back on deep third pairing guy, some nights who's up on the first pairing cuz of cuz of injuries and stuff. But it was annoying for people it's kind of an eyesore, right? Like you had tough time to get out of his own Zone, couldn't defend the front of the net. Well, like they're all little weak things that would people get annoyed with imagine if that was in net. Imagine if every month, Part of that was then in the net that is Tristan Jarry and that is why, you know, you can see Rask and and and be like, you know, maybe you should have stopped that. But at least it's not Tristan Jarry. Yes, that's that's like the ultimate that's the ultimate like level to weigh all the ghouligans. At least you're not Tristan Jarry level. It's like it's like it's like the scene in Moneyball with Brad Pitt was like the ten ten layers shit and it's just I mean yeah. I just picture like what Pittsburgh fans are looking at now and like putting it in the perspective of the Bruins of like, if you didn't have Rascal Roshes playing at.

"On your first deposit that online, your online Sportsbook, experts experts, go there now can't beat that 50%. Can't do it. So the area in this series of the Bruins, have the most the big Advantage is in that and we knew this going it. This was kind of obvious. You have two carafes established Elite star goaltender in the NHL, maybe not everyone thinks that but that's the truth. And then you have on the other side of a lot of maybes coming in a series. Samsung off, was on the covid-19. Got hurt immediately. Craig Anderson. You know you're going down the depth chart here and Craig Anderson. Like help them in the series ended up working out kind of. All right. You came out one or one of the game's creators place and and then it just dips in Game Theory. Just maintenance. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, exactly. That was hilarious body made it. So, I was like, huh? And then even back up, so those two games, those two games took like years off of his life. He had he had to he had to regenerate some drinking three but they won't same Stone often game 3 and he was pretty good. I mean I'm like yeah but he held in there like aside from the mistake on the overtime goal which was mainly Justin Schultz, just kind of stuff. Yeah, it was just just natural sleep in there. Some sort of was was wage great. I mean, the Bruins had many chances to end the game to extend their lead, so but you still have that in. And again, if that's the birth Just that the the capitals are going to be in net. If if a two-one series lead for the Bruins is the best, the capitals going to be in net. Your your prediction of ruins and 5 is pretty much going to come before, right? Yeah, I mean you look at it and yeah, Craig Craig Smith, Craig Anderson, very Craig Anderson, you know, is great and game too. In terms of, you know, facing the volume of shots, he, he did, and off again, as you said, Samsung of it stinks for him, that he's going to get a noted for, you know, getting knocked for that, that goal and double overtime one again, a lot of that would shows and also, like a dream doubt by his captain on the bench which is not a very good look. So so but yeah, you just look at the the way the Caps are built. You know, it's not like they had a guy wage. It's not like, you know, this was a team that had a A vasilevskiy or someone like that like injured was waiting to come back. All right. Well, we have to knock them out for this guy gets back there like Simpson off is a young talented goalie but hasn't really fully put it together this year. So you're throwing him into the fire. Now if you're Peter Laviolette, it's like you going with him or he going with most forty-year-old. Craig Anderson. So kind of damned-if-you-do damned-if-you-don't. I mean they've had three games and three different setting goaltenders, which again sound like they've been. They've been buried by by their goaltending, but it means a whole lot when you have a team of Thrones who you can pencil in a guy, like Tuukka Rask every single night and nobody's going to, you know, give you a good game. I mean, again, for as much as people were, you know. And on his play early on, we're still not hitting a point yet where raps cos, you know, you know, I'm not hitting the, the DEFCON 5 button. If unless he's letting up goals like, you know, Tristan Jarry Thursday, and Pittsburgh words, just clean glove hand.

"Whatever aaron boone. The positive from the weekend would be in two out of three for sure. But how about aaron judge and other homerun sunday. You'll like he's. He's settling into the season and a really good way and and love worries at obviously. Still feel like there's even more in there for him though i mean that's the scary part. Yeah he went six ten over the weekend not too shabby multiple home runs. And they do get two of three as we mentioned yankees and texas tonight. Garrett cole and jordan lyles are the starters will have it on the fan at seven twenty five yankees twenty two and eighteen on the season and the mets eighteen and sixteen on the season. Now we played earlier this morning. We played joe girardi talking to the media on video conference after he got into it a shouting match of your gene cigar and he and a couple of errors in the field so clearly must have said something to him. Dead look great as you can imagine. Now he said he wouldn't discuss it while the philadelphia at least one media member wouldn't let it go joe conversation a concentration next question. How about the optics of all this next question the optics you from giving baseball gonna talk about jimmy. I'm not gonna talk about next question. You gotta baseball. Ashby based didn't seem like it coaches ticked off at a player. Wouldn't what's what are. We worried about optics. There just like the mets. When had two guys going after each other so what they spend so much time together and you could argue once in a while. You're going to have an argument every now and again. Oh man was to what about the optics sales berry. Maybe maybe edited very possible. I don't know what optics the optics. What are the optics though. And how do they play into whether or not they're going to win the next ten games. They don't think of the team stunk. Then you've got something because he could say everything's falling apart. They're a mishmash group but then played terribly. But but why can't you already just answer the question if it's not a big deal while he did answer it earlier. I don't know how. I didn't see the whole thing by. They don't know how much gonna say. Look i manage my team. I don't come out here in the media and tell you what i tell my players. I just don't do that. nobody does that. Just wants to protect. What about the the optics. Screw the optic. Because he can't answer the question because he'd have to lie his ass off about it who's pissed off of the player. He said something. The player reacted negatively. But why can't he say that he basically said we had a conversation. I'm not gonna make a public. That's what they all say. I guess he could but he could make the situation worse. If always about coaches you know. He's a good coach because he doesn't throw was co players under the bus publicly. What would stand up said. Oh couple arizona's gonna take possesses coming back out of his name. Coaching and then some girl would come but his arm around his shoulder and he got you about them. It's funny anyhow. So that's the baseball side of things in terms of basketball. And you're right. The knicks had a big lead on the cell. The visits been boston's mo all year though. Get down big trying to make a run ultimately come up short fifteen straight for boston. Random struggling is nothing going on. Randall drags on finishers types of receipt of struggle in some games and it has often but still able to make big buckets mike and clyde on. Msg knicks hold off the celtics. Ninety randall twenty. Seven and seven reggie block had sixteen alec burks with seventeen rj barrett twenty two. So now it's on the postseason. The knicks are the four seat in the east at coach. Tom sibito the secret. The maximum effort has to be combined with unbelievable concentration. So you can get to the level you want to get to and his message to the club important for us to be hungry and concentrated on exactly what's in front of us support for everyone to put everything. They have teaching every day next. We'll get the hawks in the first round. derrick rose. I'm great young talent. you see that. They're saying bigger plan can here. They were playing. They've played well down the stretch for sure. And so that's four or five matchup. Probably saturday have you seen it. Officially released kind of like the nhl understood so the knicks the four seat forty one thirty one with an over under twenty two and a half before. The season began in vegas miss by that much now. I was wanting to miss rare. Nearly doubled it for the most part The nets beat the cavaliers. One twenty three one zero nine as they lock up the two seed they wind up going forty eight and twenty four. It coach steve. Nash teams getting to see as a as an accomplishment or everything that we faced a share. And i feel like everybody in that locker. Room contributed in a meaningful way which makes special. Here's blake griffin says. The team healthy going invest to go. You know obviously to win games and have a good seating and have home gordon all that but health is is the most important thing how kevin durant was asked about cohesion as we know the quote unquote big three. Didn't exactly play very much together. Kevin do you think the big three has gotten enough of an opportunity to play together. Here to to thrive and feel good about yourselves going into the playoffs. Fifteen so yeah. We'll be all maybe i. We will see one thing about the thing. i'm with. You walk away at any moment. But he has been as consistent on. He's played as anybody out there all year. He's the story today. Fifty four ninety guy fifty percents from the field forty percent from three ninety three percent. Free throw shooter. He really played fifty four games. I think out of the seventy two. When he's there he has been locked in on the floor. So it's just a matter of if you show up one day and he's not he's not there so that'd be a problem in terms of the plane scheduled tomorrow night. Hornets at indiana wizard celtics. And then wednesday spurs and memphis lakers host the warriors. That of course is the late game jazz. One in the west sons to in the west. The islanders opened up the playoffs. In pittsburgh in the first game goes to overtime key palmeri woulda shot. He's stack brendan burke on nbc sports network. The islanders beat the pens four three in overtime. Second goal of the game for palmeri who also scored in the opening period. Jj patio brock nelson with a goal thirty nine saves. Elliot sarokin at coach. Barry trotz slice game fellows remove on his game one We're able to get it done. And we'll put in in the rear view mirror mirror right now and and seeing better for next better was really key in this game early on obviously most always are and tristan jarry gave up. I think three softballs. Actually the game was one hell of an angle always this. I mean there's there's very little room and hits it off the top left-hand shoulder right off the helmet into the net. "I'm a big advocate of been online as well. Now they came out with their odd for the East Division and they have the Bruins and first if the Bruins at 5 to 2 odds, they have the Flyers that 3-2-1 Penguins at 9 to 2 capitals 5-1 Islanders six why I felt the Islanders were very a little bit too low in this I still think the I mean again, you know, you said this on Bruins beat if people forget the Islanders were in the Eastern Conference Final. Yeah, I think that not much has changed with them to me. I think they're a chance in the top four. I think at least odds was they make more sense than their than maybe the Capitals were the younger crowd. The Penguins with Tristan Tristan Jarry. So to me, I you know, I I see them being a little bit higher that might be a pick that might be one you might. I could get you some cash from but to me, I think they're right the Bruins and flyers are one and two in that Division and that's what it should be. At least that's how it's seems like it's trending towards them. And as we said, I think the the Flyers Bruins are in for some really good matchups number to prediction Charlie McAvoy Garners Norris Trophy consideration. Now, this is something I think that you know last year. I thought at times McEvoy was man. I mean, he was good not great. But this year, I mean if he is with Chris like if he does get to kind of flash should be himself. I've said this to you before, you know, you remember back to that 2017 postseason in that Series against the Senators and Macklemore was like a just a do-it-all guy. He was doing everything and they kind of let him flourish and birth. Some and it feels like with Char. They haven't really let him do that. It's sort of been covering for Char of the past year or two. So if he can if he can play with a guy like Chris like I do think he'll get consideration. I don't think he's the winner. I don't think that covers a Norris winner yet..

"Just this past year weird timing right during the postseason and then they have Kaiser and they have swim and and jury is still out on whether we're off in play and maybe not be the ECHL could be the age who knows where it will be who knows will be playing in the minor league system this coming season. So what does it happen? I'll start with Mark down. What does it happen for their goalie depth? And and what could they do with some of these pieces? First of all Max played a very instrumental role in the success of the Providence Bruins last season. I bought he was a very well a very good veteran for Dan Pradesh of Lennar last year. So he did what he did his service I thought The impression and I heard from sources at the Bruins were interested in possibly bringing them back. But now I'm also hearing that the Bruins are probably interested in in bringing another depth goaltender a veteran spend around who knows. I'm hearing some words of possibly exact Zane McIntyre, but it would just be adapt thing. It wouldn't be an NHL replacement or anything like that. But the next topic I want to talk about will definitely play into another role on on spinning things. So often talk about that later on but the Lagasse thing was I mean, it was just a short-term thing. I think that he sees a better path to the NHL in Pittsburgh, then he would in Boston. So that's probably why he took a deal there was $700,000. It's a one-year two-way deal. So And you know Matt Mary's out of Boston. He went to Ottawa don't immediately know and Christian Tristan. Jarry is is pretty much the guy right now. So I'm playing time, you know, who knows? I mean, he could definitely be a backup which is probably better than you know money in the age L. Let's put it that way so good on Max. Thanks for the the the the several interviews that I've had with them down at the Donk really nice guy and that could never understand a damn word. He says because his his his French is so thick it really is it it's it's hard to understand. I remember having a conversation with them when I was talking about and I think I don't know if he was nervous or anything like that. But I was talking about goaltending Coach is Mike. My name is Sandra and he and he kind of came back to me. It's like yeah the good players. I thought he thought that they were players out on the ice at that particular night. So I don't think he really understood what I was what I was saying. and I kind of kind of fumbled it a little bit but and ended the conversation there, but you know, it was just one of those things but Yeah, I mean it sucks to see him go. I mean, it's such a good guy. It really good goaltender. I mean he was he was ranked in the top ten in many categories. He was second in wins with 22. He had two point five goals against average the same percentage wasn't great at at 9 and 1719 something like that. So but it was just you know something that I wanted to bring up that he was he was it was he was good and and it's not a big loss. But you know, we'll see what happens, What do you think about the the goalie situation in Providence? Well, as long as I trusted Mark, right, I know he's a big fan of Max Lagasse he did. All right when he was down there at the same time..

"Town obviously the winning pedigree the play and been beaten and complain about the fact is this is the best of seven where we have home ice going back and forth I'd say the oil is to take the series but the fact that it's more likely going to be a site that doesn't favor either team obviously won't be any crowd it'll bear for Ted to give any any any advantage I think ought to be able to beat the Edmonton Oilers all right so you lean towards your favorite team meanwhile one of the other teams you like in that best of five playin series in that first round would be my New York Rangers going up against Carolina now I say that of course live in Vegas now so love the Vegas golden knights but the team I grew up rooting for my whole life the New York Rangers the Blueshirts a plus one thirty same line as the Blackhawks Carolina minus one fifty but you also pointed out that the Rangers success against Carolina yeah I I I I I messaged you know if I know what the different yours as well Noah Parker to DO LED cinema a funny gifs about saying you know ranges in Carolina because that's always been a thing I'd become a humongous Blueshirts and whatever the range of the play Carolina they have won thirty three of the last forty meetings overall why does it matter if their plan in Raleigh or their plan mad at Madison Square Garden all the different changes in lineup and personal coaching for some reason the Rangers not only in Asia the interesting thing about the Rangers winning that many games against Carolina a lot of games not only were they out shot in the game there were a few wins that they had when they were outshot by a two to one margin usually when you're outside but to one margin you're losing goal losing out gained by three or four goals they found ways to win in those games so it does seem that this is you know it I guess at Madison Square Garden clearly the house of horrors for Carolina but this series will be taking place in a different venue I still think that won't matter I think there's whatever system arranges using they're gonna continue that this year the one three out of five against Florida the other first round series a best of five Columbus Toronto Toronto minus one sixty tape back plus one forty on the blue jackets any any feel on this one again how Leary are you with the layoff with some of these teams even risking laying a price of a minus one sixty yeah I mean this is a tough one because it would I would normally be looking at Columbus for two reasons one of the underdog price we saw them pull off one of the biggest upsets in playoff history last year's sweeping the the presidents trophy winners to Tampa Bay in the first round but also to having that lay off this is huge for a blue jackets team that I was looking back at the numbers they lost about two thousand man games in the last four seasons this is a team that has always been hit in the middle of the year with some big time injuries losing key players for the rest of the year or or big gaps through the season and that was the case for most of this continue to see that they had at least twelve key guys at one point in the span of a month on the injured reserve list so and they having all those guys room please close to healthy that's a really good spot for them but only up on the flip side is a chronic pain at the time of offense questionable defense they do have a good goalie Fredrik Andersen and like I said the difference of having a three out of five series especially with no home ice advantage I think a lot of options might be a little bit too much for the blue jackets look at a couple of beneficiaries I mean one of them's Montreal the city that wasn't gonna make the playoffs funds of the plus one seventy against Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh I did get a win in their last game before everything halted as far as play but they have struggled mightily before then I think dropped six in a row but still dangerous offense of team and a chance to regroup and so you would think Pittsburgh probably the right side but when you have a goal tender like price you know anything goes yeah I mean yeah the the the yeah it was I think three and eight their last eleven before the break and they had a kind of injury right out of the gate there it's amazing that they're even able to stay within the range that they did in the metropolitan division throughout the year with with having major issues close to my children and then his dad definitely gonna be at and Adams award finalist for sure as coach of the year with the job that he's done but now you said they get to take on Montreal team lucky to be here they have a quality goalie Carey price who could steal a series and it's interesting you look at night is a much audible we gonna go back and talk about what your range is having a gala had language too yes you've got to start earning more but when you have these key guys who've been cornerstones of these big franchises if they can make a run he only carried that momentum try to give that gathered at the clubhouse guy that superstar shot at winning a Stanley Cup that can give you a lot of added momentum and that's something that we might see my chart Carey price could rally this team and ample enough sent off against with a strong pain when steam obviously of course their offense is loaded they have two questions in that as well Matt Murray not as sharp as the scene Tristan Jarry was playing with that cocky bit career before everything stop wonder if he can get back into his rhythm so I would not be shocked see Montreal pull off an upset here if Pittsburgh can get off to a good start early in the season pretty much anything of series Florida and the islanders both these teams started out real well treading water right before the stoppage yeah what the joke is that and there's one team that won't struggle with having no fan in the stands the Florida Panthers because they don't have bands on the rest of the season anyway so with that being said they are definitely going to be L. I'd have to find a way to break through this island is defense that has been so tough they have the office of course is to do it but on the flipside Barry Trotz definitely not coach you want to bet against in the playoffs we seen him obviously the word that he was able to do Washington and even have you know some hard fought series lacks you with is on the scene but it would be a battle of Canada the island is find a way to score and stop Florida or can afford to get their offense going and find a way from Brockie to kind of bounce back it looked like his old self in the Columbus and making key saves the real tough series cast on the fence with that problem will be betting no matter how you slice it Winnipeg Calgary's even up as it can be and that's the way it is both teams minus one ten in the best of five series and you look at Calgary a team you know sitting at seventy nine points in seventy games Winnipeg eighty points in seventy one games a game in hand there for the flames but only one point separates us separating the two and both teams six three and one in their last ten games prior to the stop yeah and this is the one zero I'm really bomb that it will be the regular you know whole my set up because the the two great fan base of the watch during the playoffs you have to see a red in Calgary everybody were in the red jerseys in the town of course the famous white out in Winnipeg so leave it to home chromite advantages that are going to be neutralized sure in this series I think this is definitely one that comes down the goaltending you look it can't Talbot David Reddick that do offer the flames they had some bright moments at times there was a you know spell off of each other which is what you want during the regular season but I don't know I one of those guys can take the reins in a series we're on the flip side Connor Hellebuyck of the goalie we signed get your team to Western Conference final they were shut down by Bagus difficult couple years ago but they have shown sometimes where they can shut down teams he can steal a game and they have some great offer the weapons packing line eight at the forefront there idling with the jets and that's it and then we drop on down Arizona and Nashville Arizona was gonna have trouble they're running out of games and they're four points back they have played one more game then the team that they were trying to zone in on and that the Vancouver Canucks now you look at this team going up against the Nashville predators preds pretty solid team they also had four more points than Arizona when play stopped they actually had a game in hand as well Nashville boy a sometimes watches him you go they can beat anybody in the league and then there's other times you watching they get blitzed even at home nowadays and you're like what happened to this team this team is to be so dominant at home they're wildly inconsistent they they remind me kind of the same class that my heart went through and they went to their same declined where he said they had some games where they look at their B. O. B. the best in the league and it seems a lot like you know a team waiting for the the draft to begin and we saw last postseason they made a lot of the deadline none of those guys really stood out to stir up it was a pretty disappointing you know exit or in Nashville I would be shocked to see the same thing happened here again there's an Arizona team that was playing some really good hockey and now they also have extended this time off one of the guys that they need healthy Darcy camper Wheatley was looking like one of the better goalies in the and all the league having a monster year if he can get things rolling and also as a backup on the roster who often injured he can stay healthy and a good one to do what I have going into this series well the flipside Packer Renee showing his age more often than not not able to make those big pad save you see styles those will be its predecessor not having a sharp as the seasons either so the goaltending edge go there's gonna they've got some scores of Clayton Keller though castle Nick schmaltz another good to a guy I think there's only to win that series when you look at the team right there in your home state of Minnesota wild playing pretty good hockey when the stoppage came at one seven of the last ten they were right there within three points of that final berth there in the Western Conference was still plenty of time and now they're going to go up against Vancouver who actually limped into the stoppage just a game under five hundred in their last ten team that really thrives at home up in British Columbia but again with no fans not going to come into play so that would help the wild out you get Minnesota plus one twenty is there value there yeah you know I I think there is actually an exit this would have been much more exciting series with home ice advantage for both clubs especially with Minnesota because the log they displayed much better here at the Xcel energy center they.

"Devils put pressure on early crystal Tang all the ice block right around in front played by Mueller and now Niko he's here with a one on one opportunity throws a bucket in a save by Murray he sure gets his own rebound sent it over to Paul Mary is the devil trying to set up their offense but the penguins of suffocating early and now the photos down the other end with getting Malkin doing some video game moves to get the offense started the penguins sends it in and Brian Ross who was at a spectacular year for the Pittsburgh Penguins touches the puck sent down and looks like we're going to have our first icing over the contents of the amazing thing about the penguins they were eighteen six and four in the game said Sidney Crosby missed and now haven't been able to find their game in the last ten now they'd be a couple of also rans last weekend in buffalo and and also Detroit but now tonight you're playing is one of the hottest teams in the NHL the devils that was an offsides god each year at this fall grains of won by the penguins puck thrown at the net hold while only and the pockets and back down the ice and it's going to be waved off MacMurray plays the fox and the penguins trying to set up their offense from behind their own net his first look at Jack's used tonight the eighteen year old number one overall pick wearing number eighty six and once in the park all the way down the ice now mackenzie Blackwood plays behind his own net case by Brian Ross and the devil's hand back Anderson over Hughes misplayed Brian Ross gets a plug back into the penguins owned but not been doing so far not a ton of action not a lot of chances the double send it back behind Matt Murray who plays the puck behind the net some struggle for Murray for shore state had two goaltenders as well with Tristan Jarry Matt Murray going back and forth not figuring out who has the hot hand for very long how we got to high demand right now for the devils in it with Flacco insider let's not go with the shot well wide of the marines glove hand eighteen for quest sends it back out of his own and you've got the penguins now trying to get something going on their own and Sudan plays a part behind the net still not a ton of operative action but a puck thrown out in front Matang mass now I have to go chase it back in his own end and Kris letang this is where it gets dangerous we could see some of those big passes that lead to goals but not so much here is the devil's ready for back to the Tang sends the puck over and now you've got all tentatively in the park on the right circle to dumoulin who shoots locked by not sure what my grammar that's okay it was blocked by a New Jersey Devils won John Hey John Hey yes for the most part John exited right around the ankles and I have to ask you about that after the game or not allowed in the dressing room all rights doubles now back on the attack Watson of the ice Hayden coming off that Bruce sense behind Matt Murray Murray playing the puck behind the net and the Pittsburgh Penguins continuing to try to get some sort of sustained offense on either and he has got been icing on the penguins and there you have it that's right icing on the fine was not allowed to do any early on at the rock I think you know the penguins you could see the skill is there you can see the speed is there but it's not often set in the pregame their bottom six is not help them over the last ten games and that's a big problem in the NHL you gotta get you got to get point you've got to get something out of your bottom six has been a huge problem for the penguins here the last ten games it was Niko he's here in Sidney Crosby now it's Kyle palmeri Sidney Crosby face off one by Crosby the penguins now don't put into the devil's own by PKC band there to play a pricey at the Marco Mueller does not Schultz now part owner sherry with throws it at the net once again the devils defense to a really nice job of not letting fox two mackenzie black there was no off the ice Mueller sends it over to miles ward miles would now looking set big city by Murray on Niko he's here great pass by would think he's here but Matt Murray was there with the answer devils continue can to control the puck he's here now in a battle with Crosby Crosby able to muscle the puck away from he's here and send it out of the zone the first real scoring opportunity of the night I'll tell you what Nico he sure is quite the player he's actually won two hundred feet play defense behind that came all the way back what a pass by miles would probably the fastest skater on the devil's track Hughes now trying to get the bottom ones own does not have any Malkin's got the fox looks for Ross stops suits does not get the mackenzie Blackwood is a Ross what the **** himself now Kris letang at the right point since the down low Patrick Marleau is there he's about fifty years old now still finally actually got its first gold things took a while and now intercede over to drive is a Jack Jack who's going to the park Anderson shot of the net Matt Murray C. right into his chest able to cover off and we've got to stop I was really impressed with the closure on his last shift he was below the breadline behind mackenzie Blackwood playing the body against city Crosby they were able to move the puck out than here miles would just took off down the ice you could see like the youthful legs of these players you can see how fast they are and why they are so high on those two players in that line you've got the scoring line the recent storyline in the New Jersey Devils Dr Brad Andrews said out there to see if they can capitalize on a little bit of momentum offense of momentum at the devils were able to get going right now when they're trying to win the faceoff does not and now the penguins control Pittsburgh Penguins in the park down in the behind Blackwood side to stay in his own net doesn't look like a great decision of what gets thrown in front but here comes just for practice with rap with a little bit of speed rack over to send to send send it in behind the net nothing doing as he chases at now the Pittsburgh Penguins get the **** out of there with little Ajah on that particular situation here is soccer soccer since down tried to get the puck against the Bradley said such a spectacular year continues to be one of the hottest players in the league and of course hi guys had the most impressive your offense late the New Jersey Devils PKC van behind the net to Marco Mueller more from your quoting you can send the park back out and you've got Johnson now who tries to get it passed and does not pass the redline you come to New Jersey Devils three on three mostly with the puck this Walgreens welcome back to Sudan at the point to ban over the Mueller close the puck in the net movie there tries to jam at home but there was memory again covering up with a little bit Madani wrote in front of the net but it gets broken up about that job by Pocono pretty good first first time up here at the NHL controlling the.
