Myth-Busting The Teenage Years: Do Teenagers Hate Spending Time with Family?

"The first Sort of thing. I thought of is that teenagers hate their family or hate spending time with the family. So tell me how this is played out with yours. I think that that is mostly untrue. Where i think that myth has taken root is that they really want it on their own terms and that can be really hard to adjust to as a mom especially of a teenager where you're used to them just cheerfully going along with everything you want to do. Because that's what they've always done or even if they didn't cheerfully go along they went along because they kind of had to sudden to suddenly things have changed like you know. The precedent has been set that they stay home alone. If that's how you've done things in your family so you can't like pretend like that's not the case anymore like when it was convenient for you you can go to the store without them but now they want to stay home and you wanna bring them to like grandma's house or whatever they don't always want to do it and now the jig is up now they know it's possible for them to be home right so like suddenly there's this burgeoning logic and feeling of independence and wanting to do what they want to do and it's very new that actually that's an option and they believe it to be an option and that can create some power struggles for sure. This is feeling a little like two and three year olds to me right but like it's very much like that. I want my kids all wants to spend time with me. In fact sometimes i will find them weirdly following me around or seeking me out. But it's usually when they want it on their terms. And i have to say too. I remember the same thing when i was a teenager. Like i loved hanging out with my parents. But i didn't necessarily want to hang out with their parents at three o'clock on a saturday when they wanted me to go walk into nature trill with them rate and i wanted to be hanging out with my friends so i just think that it's not. They don't hate their families for the most part. And i don't think they hit spending times. I actually think that they really crave it.

"trilling" Discussed on Your new favourite song

"And to be honest i win. They win the garage band added. That drummer function. It was like this. I was suddenly relieved. That i was i i. It's very powerful tool. And i was a drummer. I'd be really upset about it. Personally is at drummers or sometimes my experience hard hard to come by even harder to get to get the show up the band practice even harder to get to sit or a recording session. You know so And it sounds. It sounds no. There's quite a bit of flexibility and it's really intuitive you'll be able to put those those drum tracks together on on logic or or or or garage candidates pre almost too easy it. Okay so Yes so all. The all the drums here on australia is all. That's all electronic. And i mean i chopped it up and you know a german the fills and you know the softness and complexity of each of each section but our. Yeah you know the way. The trump programs are now is you can Go down to every single. Hit and decide how hard it's going to be or whether he's in a fraction of a millisecond before after the clinical on a feel of a live drama you know if you really wanna get into micro Programming the drums. But you know you could do on every say you know encourage you can do it. You know you change every single drum beat a harder oil louder softer or harder all solve. So you know give you that kind of life real person. It is it is. It's pretty incredible where the technology is gone. And i have that as you know free program with your free with since computer but yeah right so we've come a come into the end of the interview and before we sign off. I always like to ask the guest while their favorite song is the moment. What is it. Listen to that. They think everybody else should be listening. So i I have I go on submit hub us. You go onto the submit hub. I once i discovered by side it was like oh my off. I can't stay off of this thing. I love doing the. JRPG Report Episode 144 - The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Black First Details - burst 02

"Hello friends welcome back to the show. This is the g. rpg. Report episode one hundred and forty five little bit weird this week and we knew it was going to be with christmas eve falling on our normal release date and of course christmas the next day and there must situation My little girl's birthday being the day after christmas so yeah we get a bang bang. Bang three a craziness there. Obviously just mitt that there was really no time to reporter Record a podcast. Even before christmas was just too hectic so We're recording this on saturday. The twenty seventh just a couple days left in twenty twenty. Goodbye rents But we've got a lot of cool things to talk about today. I kinda wanna wrap up all the stuff that we've missed as it's been nine days since our last pockets. No i'm sorry that's not even right. That is fuzzy. Math is been eleven days since our last podcast. So we've got a few things to go over That have popped off. Since then. And i wanna kinda look look forward to sometime this week. Mean jordan are going to get together and kind of talk about What games we really loud from. Twenty twenty maybe even discussed some Game of the year options and then look forward to twenty twenty one as Right off the bat. We got a bunch of games coming out in the beginning of the first the new year. We got to tell you rods two. You've got bravely default to you've got he's nine And the newly Confirmed for some of five strikers. Just a name The the big big ones I'm sure there'll be others. That will be unfortunately lost in the in the way. So we're going to record that sometime this week and In lieu of any news breaking. I may just make that part of the normal podcast unsure on that. But let's get into it. I hope you guys had a wonderful christmas holiday I didn't have any games that i particularly wanted that. We're already out. So i just kind of asked Asked the parents for Email confirmation that beginning Today risa to when it comes out on january twenty six that was cool and i did end up much too. Many of your delight. Hopefully i'm finally going to take a dive into these series. I picked up. Yee's eight for only twenty dollars on the ps story. I could not refuse as the physical version just refuses to ever go down in price so i figured this was by far the best opportunity. Get in on. What many consider to be a very very good. Jr pg and at some point. I'll be playing. It don't really know when that's going to be but that's enough rambling We did have fell. Calm day Twenty twenty winter addition and we got a few tidbits of information about the new legend of heroes. Toddle kiro no koseki if you notice the thumbnail for this Podcast are the two newest main characters is a third as well but these They dig use some high-rise resolution images of the to unsure why the third one was kind of like ashaari pow We'll get you later but still no names for these two characters but we do have a bit of information stuff. You see that image. There's a couple other on our facebook and twitter feed of those two characters while they are. I say have that trails feel to them. I do kind of agree with what president condo said last time that at mediate Glance they don't appear to be trails characters. And i believe that lies in the fact that they are from calvert So they're going to look a little bit different and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. These illustrations were drawn by katsumi. Nama and the other characters are from alcom. Like i said the character's names were not announced to this game is coming out sometime in twenty twenty one in japan so those were the images. There were some other ones as well. If you'd like to see all those. I did put up a slide show video on our youtube channel. So you can check those out if you don't feel like clicking through pictures of via the website here is what we do know and i will just read this to you as this is the about for the new age of heroes karoo new koseki beyond the blue sky ahead of flashing light a land. A dawning resides cuba. There's no spoilers going on in here. This is all preliminary stuff in the news story arc. So we don't have to worry about that type of stuff the ladder this latter half of the trails. There is about to begin. The setting moved to the calvert republic in two thousand and twenty one foul calm release. Legend heroes kernigan the latest entering the trail serious as its fortieth anniversary rumors of work. The calvert nation is a multi ethnic nation experiencing unprecedented economic growth. Brought about by post war reparations. In a corner of the capital of a huge nation were immigration issues bringing about political instability. Okay well maybe. There are some spoilers in here okay. let's just get to the best. I'm sorry i read that. And i didn't think about it until just now okay. The command style action time bow system. You didn't previous trails. Titles has been revamped and that's going to set up an from a couple people. Let's just see what they said. Seamlessly transitioned from action oriented field battles to turn based commands battle to turn based command battle systems while making use of the unique elements the sixth generation combat or meant would try to pronounce his last time. I'm not sure how it is x. I f. r. x. i. p. h. a. z. Feel in a ballots to evolve from the previous trails titles. Okay so what does that mean. I don't. I don't know i really don't know how to had say seamlessly transition from action oriented field battles to turn based command battle systems I i mean obviously there's a bit of an extra element when you strike the enemies on the field in order to go into the turn based battle i. I need to see this in action to really know what they're even beginning to talk about would just have to wait and see You will feature many elements you laws. It's setting including a topics system which enabled together until such topics by communicating with. Mpc's out towns tra- gate situations in your favor when you act as a spray gun and that is the The character it's basically a detective. But they're calling them spring and alignment flame system. In which characters three alignments great and chaotic fluctuate depending on your own style influencing various status allies and adversaries and even scenario developments please look forward to allege heroes lowest entrance toasters depicted enrich expression by thumbs new original ingen. So that's that's pretty cool Here's what how they set up the situation and I get. I don't wanna get too much into this. The to emit the two people that you see in the image the one is the one call the speaker those are they say sometimes detective somedays negotiators and other days as bounty hunters. They're up for any job from any client. That's pretty cool And then the other one is Say to be a school girl wearing uniform. Prestigious school visits a rundown building located in old town in cowards capital. So that's the setting that's beginning of it. You can check out those images. Like i said there's a third character in the images as well with the two swords on his back and some long hair but we don't have any details. There is a battle scene that shows what looks like to be a craft or an art powering up but that from that snippet it does look to be turn based. So don't i'm so confused as to what to make. But i'm certainly excited about this one. But the lack of details and the promise of something new is leading to some question marks popping up. And i don't necessarily love that idea but it is what it is and until we learn a little bit more. It's just going to be speculation Unfortunately though that wasn't the only bit of information. And i'm sure we'll have a bunch more but Foul calm day twenty twenty winter. Also let us know about and this is not really affecting us as much. But they did. Say that a hatch marco koseki which is the one before this one and after cold steel four Clouded leopard entertainment will release a switch. Pc esteemed version of the game Sometime in summer. Twenty twenty one in japan in asia. I'm nearly positive. That's the same company that handled The transition for coastal three and four to the top of my head. So i came out for. Ps four in japan on august twenty seventh. So you know nearly a year later. They're talking summer to get that Switch pc version now. It handles the asian side of this and i s america handles the translation available. At least they have for the past two games In the cold still series in the west still no confirmation that that translation is ongoing. That have to assume that it is unless it's being handled by other parties I mean exceed did do the first two trills of cold steel games but at imagine that they are going to do this hedge amari as well and as soon as i hear something about that it will happen. It's certainly a good thing that this is happening and It could lead to a speedier at least for these games in the west. But like i said still no information on unfortunately. The last thing that they talked about was not briefly. Mentioned this last time the natto. noca- seki game. That is coming out in japan for For playstation four. This was the old Two thousand twelve least. Psp action rpg though some new details and images kinda showing the ps p version versus the Ps four version of it They're sent opposites gonna run at sixty frames per second on. Ps four with more vibrant graphics. Not being obviously these are things that you'd want to have updated from an old old system user interface options One thing that i thought was very interesting. And i'm not to say what they say. This game is not connected to the trails game. However the main character's name is now utah herschel now you trails players especially cold. Steel will know towa. Her last name is hershal So what they're they say there's no connection but then there's a connection is the protagonist and a boy from that island who attends and academy in saint elise. Those aren't you know aren't names that i recognized the from the trails series so it is very very interesting and i would be would like to know what that connection is at kind of read through it. You can read through the tales. Like i said before i am lower on the percentage scale To say of this game was actually going to make it over here or not. I if i if you say your day is gonna come today out outs. Action say no but would just have to wait and see. The original game did not look super impressive. So this isn't a game that i'm all that excited about to begin with but we'll have to. We'll just have to wait and see if that indeed happens for a lot of switch owners the next. Gop g they will more than likely be picking up is going to be bravely default to gain closer and closer to that february twenty. Sixth rolled wide release date friend square annex released new trailer for it albeit in japanese and have still not seen an english version of this yet so it talks all well. Supposedly it talks about wiz walt. The country established by those mejia's. They did it themselves to studies. The magic research institute But the the real kicker with this one and you can see it. Is this places overgrown. It looks like it was built kind of in the middle of it are on top of a giant tree. And there's just this tree just going right up through entire town is really cool again Trailer is how long was trailer of about three and a half minutes. Like i said in japanese so you can't really tell what's going on but it is kind of cool to see some of the visuals in action Four it but if you're elected shake those game out for yourself you can check out the demo for it It is now live on the east shop and One who feels the demo before its release will even pick up one hundred mine. Intendo platinum points here is the Short official description of the demo experienced the games at risk and reward system character strategy and stunning visuals in the latest braley default to final demo in this demo. The games four men characters are already other journey with jobson abilities at their disposal. I downloaded this. The other night. as if getting the switch away from my kid was hard enough with minecraft previously The kid did pretty good for Christmas and her birthday. And i now had to contend with her own copy of animal crossing so she and my wife can play two switches and who copies of animal crossing so they can will each other's islands. I know she also got the Spyro trilogy which. I really enjoyed those games growing up. So i can't wait to play those with her and relive those moments and she picked up mario maker to so. I'm not seeing that switch for a while. Maybe once she goes to sleep. If i don't have anything to play eck fired that demo. I would like to see how it is shaping up as will If you've got some free time and you're looking for d'you monster hunter rise. There are to say ten videos in total. Let's do a little no here. One two three four seven eight nine ten eleven twelve. There's twelve total. So i check. They were they were released in two packs. I take them all and made them into six long. Because it only about a minute minute long. So if you're one to check out some of the different weapons they go into monster hunter rise. You can do that going from Things like the switch axe gun lance hammer sorted shield heavy light bogue gun. Land is long swords and even the hunting horn. You check all those out over on our youtube channel. J rpg report dot com. You can also see a new second official trailer for the action. Rpg magnum lord Still no western released on this one yet. It is coming out in japan on march. The eighteenth for playstation four and switch said. This is the second trailer for the game. It looks pretty cool. I do hope that they bring this one. Over is from publisher. D three Developer felicia quite heard of them before. But still no word on it. I really hope they bring this over because it does pretty fun but yeah nothing Nothing quite yet. i'll go over some of these ones. That are just videos. There's a fifteen minutes of new footage from christ tales. This is previewing the present and future game play of it Remember this game got pushed back to early. Twenty twenty one. That's just the winner that don't into it's been Hit with a couple delays here lately. Not sure how much. Everything's pandemic related at this point but how much they just wanna fine tune things in. How much is really needed to make this work. Obviously you're doing with a system of past present and future while stuff can go wrong and working Just the way that you would like it to work New genesis the fantasy star online. To almost say reboot but definitely the new version of there is the opening movie for it and you should probably check this out. If we're looking at over fifty minutes of new footage as well mostly the character creation for its but this opening movie You know typically when you see these opening movies. They're using a pre rendered scenes. This was actually created using parts of the in game graphics. Engine which looks amazing Definitely if you're looking forward to this you should check it out sometime in twenty twenty. One is the release date Four it but again. This is one of those. Well not one of those but this is the faa gain. That i'm kind of just don't understand why it's not on playstation four. In the west it is in japan. But you've got to either play on xbox or on pc here in the west doesn't make a ton of sense but there's just things like that in this world that we gotta kinda get used to them. I guess we got three bits of sky news this week. i is. You can check out the fourth official trailer for six defiance of destiny I believe there's an english. There's an english version for this out. Now you can check it out. There was originally came out. There was just a japanese version but the english version shows off of really cool voices that they've got for the game. They got some good voice. Talent in this one in Very fitting for the series especially the little reincarnated pug services is awesome It's about seven or review of the game If you are curious about what's going on in this one changes that they've made this series. You will definitely want to check it out. Of course it doesn't come out in the west until summer. Twenty twenty one. Japan is going to get it in right about a month on january. The twenty eighth The other day actually. This was on christmas eve that this news broke New punchy released some new information screenshots for the game featuring and i hope i get these names right la haro aetna and flown Those were the original characters from the original the sky and they are saying that Basically once you beat the game you can Play a scenario with these original characters in it so kind of a you know. They're not in the main game this something post post content but the fact that they're in their would open the door to other characters popping up from other games as well. So that's a cool thing The world inside of an item. I m worlds have mended. Detailed in this article on worlds are divided into several fours slash layers and the items level increases with every four. That you clear says weapons become stronger as they level up. You can clear there either. Worlds to power them up once. An item is leveled up. You can get the same item at the same level from then on pretty cool feature of the sky series all these images i took input into a slide show. You can check that out on our youtube channel so you can dispatch companions into item worlds to research them. There's a new team attack system with up to ten characters in it. That's a pretty cool feature. New enemies were detailed There's a new horsemen. That's pretty crazy. So here's the Previous protagonist Oh here we go says not only will hear from. Our doctors appear the protagonist in heroines of the sky. Two three four and five will also appear in three d. The protagonist and heroines wilburs as downloadable content sometime after the launch of disguise six. So there's a from the sky to or i don't know in timika these pronunciations. I'm at risk of offending people. I understand how they're supposed to be pronounced So yeah they're gonna add them in there as as post content deal see. That's the type of thing. Like i would think you'd be okay with paying for because that's obviously not a part of disguise six. They are previous games characters in new content. So take how you feel about. Dlc that is that's one thing i think is is no k To do speaking of all those previous disguised characters they are all assembled in the rpg. Mobile game And we got news from bolt chain games that they will release worldwide the mobile version the sky arc in spring. Twenty twenty one Unless you're in these countries in the no fast if you are but we are a western primarily focused podcasts. So you're not going to get in china taiwan hong kong macau singapore malaysia or korea Sorry don't i don't know why maybe that is. Just it's gonna come out later. Maybe there's some rules preventing that From happening if we're interested in getting it on a closed beta for the game. They will have one for canada. Brazil australia and the philippines sometime in january so really happy to see this thing go worldwide. There was a global announced trailer for it This came back It came back in march of twenty nineteen in japan. Had a whole bunch of issues with it and It was de definitely the this game was deadly responsible for some financial hardships for nippon ichi. And they finally got up. Right obviously gotta writes the point. Now they're really to bring this thing out worldwide As far as the gotcha game or not. I don't know if i recall. I think it was paid game. But i should probably ended up before speaking about it. But i'm sure there's elements in there but hopefully this is a Not another one of those kind of like. We've we've like. We've got enough of those already know ankara today. So in place of it you get one last plea for listener support We've had a few people signed up for but really not a whole lot of response so I kind of said you guys. I would do this to the year. See what we got and move forward I would love to have listener support. Not have the need for ads but it is just a reality of life and we may just see what that happens. If i get a bunch outpouring of support here after listening to this. I may reconsider. But at this point at least in the a few few adds to offset the cost of Of the time spent during the podcast hope to understand and hope you are okay with that excited much. Rather have just you guys Do that and not have to worry about. It would wait and see so you. Click on the link right below this episode. Either through anchor. John daly greatly. Appreciate it. And i don't have the read ads. You don't have to listen to him. That just seems like it'd be the the best thing for both of them If you're looking forward to to see how to say these things seal thurs. Dx and the They were supposed to come on japan on february twenty eighth. they have been delayed until march fourth. Twenty twenty one in japan. So if and when a western. What's going to happen for that. it's now going to be About five weeks later. I would to guess based on This delay these games Were from chloe tecmo and gusts so yeah just a little bit of Delay they save for further quality improvements. The games will be available for. Ps four switch and pcv steam win. They are released whenever that is sort. Online alsatian lakers got version one point to update it is now available and it adds a simone's ancient apostles story of course over various user interface online system battle improvements bugs fixed in addition to those two that new ancient apostles. The reaper of the woods. These are the first in a series of free additional stories. So yeah if you've been playing this game and you want some new content. You can get that for free. Always happy when they decide to do that. Company manhattan people interesting name for a game. Company will release an ios android version of us six. The arc of nepotism in twenty twenty one. There's gonna be a mobile version of us eight This may just be the next in the line that are going to have a mobile versions for For all the used titles are no further information at this point or was announced. Just this is going to be happening. Of course this is in Is in japan so kind a like. he's eight version. No word if that's gonna be coming to the west and to be quite fair no no word if it's In the west either speaking of Ios android versions of games the alliance hd the alliance alive hd remastered will becoming too often android an early winter. Twenty twenty one in japan. You can already get this game for. Ps four switch or pc much better version of it perhaps it's a little bit cheaper On the mobile platform but still no word of a western release for that mobile platform. So if you want to get this game and you've got one of those consoles or pc. I would say it's that's going to be your Best version of it. One last mobile thing to announce and i will hush about it. Because i know you guys love it so much command action. rpg near reincarnation will launch for and android on february eighteenth. Twenty twenty one in japan. Post your square. Inex- developer apple bought announced. There will be a near on amata in game. Collaboration featuring characters to be nine s and a two day and date with the games launch course that is in japan only No information listed here about the worst and inversion. I'm pretty sure this one's coming to the west but Don't know exactly when that's going to happen. Speaker of near autumn mata total worldwide shipments in digital sales have exceeded five million according to square inex-. That's an awesome awesome plateaued to have reached and kudos to them for that. I believe that is one of many reasons why we are getting the new near game coming out or re rematch. Whatever you wanna call it of that new one coming at a replicant here soon. That's another game to start saving. Your opinion is four and hopefully build a buy. All these games coming out here in the near future. I've got one last. You talk about with you guys again. probably wouldn't talk with jordan about our game of the years for twenty twenty four to twenty twenty one. The next podcast. I am still trying to get through. Colts deal for Often not had time to play here lately. I think just hit or maybe just shy of one hundred hour mark. So i've still got a good thirty to forty hours to go hopefully make it in time to Play roz a two day one but we have to wait and see that game just keeps on keeps on going but Going to be is going to be tough. I'm really going to have to search my feelings. That i think is flowing anything to if it's going to be found pacers. Seven remastered or a remake rather or four. It's it's really tough there. There's my heart says one thing amonte says another and there's different things to have to consider overall ought to make that final decision here real soon on what that What was looking forward to our thoughts here are coming out this week on. To future generations of women, you are the roots of change

"Yeah salah. Hello hello hello one trill to have this opportunity when we ask all of our ted community many of them. Who would you like to hear from. If we're going to look forward on word when it comes to women in the world unanimously. The answer was gloria steinem. Now i know you're way too modest to accept that easily. So before we move onward. May i go back a bit since we have known each other for a long time and talk about those early days when you were building a movement challenging stereotypes moving beyond call four norms. You must have had some manifestation a fearless and your life. What were what were your fears. And how did you overcome them now. I certainly had a lot of fears and chief among them was speaking in public. Just like i am now because you know we choose to express ourselves in the way that is most natural and i became a writer. Because i didn't wanna talk. So the first thing i had to overcome was the fear of public speaking and because i was afraid to do it by myself i asked a friend to do with me. Dorothy pitman hughes and then flow kennedy anyway so we became in that way somewhat accidentally white woman one black woman speaking together which you know was very helpful to express. The movement was for everyone in those early days when you were becoming not only a really powerful public speaker in spite of your fears you were also normalizing and creating response to a word that became the anthem for so many of us literally changing lives standing in front of crowds and saying feminism is for every woman and i see now as as you do that there are still ways in which feminism is not understood as a concept misunderstood criticized. Sometimes where killed. How do you describe feminism. It's just the radical idea that human beings are all equal and we can dispense with the labels of gender and class and race and begin to realize our unique individuality Of course feminism was misunderstood in the beginning as if it were about female superiority or It was a movement for lesbians only not for all women. I mean you know. There were all kinds of of Misunderstandings not to mention ridicule. I hope that that's passed. I used to just send people to the dictionary to look. Feminism very helpful. How do you feel the new generation. The next generation of young women. What is their relationship with the word and the concept of. There's still a lot to be done to reach that equal stat. Yeah well. I don't think that i mean the the the word is still there woman. Ism women's liberation the role kinds of words But i think it's much more about content and not worrying too much about form so black lives. Matter was started by three young black feminists that was their creation that has is beginning to change much that needs to be changed And they just assumed that of course they were there as three young black feminists and you mentioned a reality that has just happened for all of the women in the united states. And that is this national presidential election in which the data is showing a great difference. Between the way white women voted. Black women voted and we know that women are not monolithic but the divide and the differences among us in every way. Not just racially. But where we live economically and culturally and almost. Every way has been deepened in the last few years. How do we as women began to bridge these differences well. I don't know if it's actually been deepened. But in any case. I mean the the thing that is different about us is that we have wombs or it and we all have wombs and there is in patriarchal forms of government and governance and just Culture an effort to control our bodies in our minds in ordered to control reproduction. And if there is racism is there is than there is a another motive which is to try to keep racists separate that is a racist motive and to perhaps try to influence one race to produce more than the other. Which actually you can see now in in White racist movements so it is just very basic and the reasons for our unity are very basic because the simple revolutionary statement is that we get to make decisions over our own bodies. How great is that

OWL's Roster Dumping

"Having. I don't know if you. WanNa. Call it a a reckoning. Was the that's that's what the Bible is right? Yeah. The. Exodus to a certain extent for a lot of these teams calling it a a roster dump is what I'm going to call it because we are seeing. I, don't think I've ever seen look you on a they're giving call of duty off a run for its money when it comes to dumping players and dumping rosters and hitting the restart button and so I wanted him all right like big difference in the sense of with call of duty. You have a shuffle. It's not like twenty five players retiring at the same time we're losing their job, right? Like they're reshuffling because, hey, new games coming out can play a little different plays more like black ops. So let me play with these guys like this feels the but it's very different. Yeah, and there's also more of like a dark cloud over it. Right? Where everyone else like for call of duty you're so excited for the. It's almost like Ooh the season's done. Let's get ready for this roster shuffle, right like you get excited for it here. Everyone's like, whoa where like let's pump the breaks here overwatch like they're still going to be a season for like let's call now now. So let I want to discuss this a little bit because there is some like I say ominous dark theories floating around. So first off though you having teams. Clean House. Dallas fuel has dropped everyone but one player. Houston outlaws have dumped You know I don't think their entire roster but a good amount veterans of the of the Roster Link Cer- as we've known, they've also had some players leave during the season Ellie gladiators I think have dropped like four or five guys including again big goose fan favourite and everyone there mccreavy who. Just moved up like wait this past year. Well Yeah. It's like he was on contenders league for envy. And then he might have. Touched the fuel roster maybe for half a second and then went to La to play on the Overwatch League side of things dropped O. G. E.. So you're seeing these teams drop what you consider the best in the league. Now, I will say this overwatch. I think more than any sport. And maybe you agree maybe you don't the fans get caught up with fan favorites and it Kinda clouds, their judgment on who's a good player and who do you just like more like we're counterstrike and other games I feel like you have fan favorites but people will also realistically admit like, Yeah this guy's not the greatest alive right either washed up pro at this point or something you know. Win Time is running out a little bit more. So in a game, like CBS's seem the skills diminishing like og is the perfect example of this, right? Oh Jeez. been a longtime fan favorite really hasn't performed at like. The highest level over the past two seasons, you know you've kind of seen on his play decline. So as great of a person as he is as much as he's loved by teems has been on including NBN his most recent team. You know it kind of makes sense to that they'll be looking to make a change because it really hasn't worked out for them. Yeah and you're absolutely right and that's like with Dallas right I know as far as living in Dallas right? The fuel and their fans love like they love a Cam, they love trill he played with their farm system and moved up right Nonni his or. Only God has been here. Note he was a fan favourite a huge diva player when he moved over from Boston, like they have all these guys that they're loving and they're like, wow, how could this happen? It's like. Again. This is a business and results talk. A lot of these teams have expectations of at least being in contention for the championship. The fuel have been des- at least disgust since day one of the Overwatch League that they should have always been like a top team given their their resume and never lived up to it. So sometimes, you just have to hit that reset button and start fresh I. Am a little curious like unlike other east eastwards farm systems are generally. They're in place to move upright whether that's counterstrike although we've seen it like fall off on the side right. But that that's kind of always been key staple for counterstrike whether you're going into the ESPN or f pl ranked kind of find the young talent that that shows up on call of duty you through the amateur scene you see MVP's come out of it like Sim shots he wasn't playing amateurs, but still a new player kind of coming in and taking the League by storm on Voi-, another example of a young up and comer. With over watch a little curious to what this shuffle does. Right in that retrospect because is this is going to be taking these players recycling. I'm figuring out maybe this is a better pairing. So now we'll take you know this guy s team this guy from this team in kind, of Mesh, together just see what works with the same faces or is there a young farm system that all these teams are about to go poach from like that really unsure about, and that's an excellent point a new because that was going to be the next thing I said once again, proving that we are just. Truly in sync with each other at all times because. You're like like, I said before I get why teams are wanting to Clean House I get why they're unhappy with their roster this the suspicious side of me the conspiracy put on your tin. Foil. Hat. Side of me though is thinking, okay, this is a lot though this is. Dallas you know I get gladiators to an extent. Houston has been struggling, but then you have guys like Miami or Florida. London has dropped their roster. The spark have dropped their roster. There is. A lot of vacancies now that you're going to have to fill, this is where people are getting their theories. Then because you're absolutely right, the farm system is not as deep for overwatch contenders has taken a hit as far as like top talent goes right they all these dropped their contender teams last year. So right how many teams are really less standing at this point with an organization backing them I should add of the guys that you might think would be better to pick up. You know all these players dropping our are sticking with over overwatch. Some are like mccreavy has. Announced that he is staying with over watch US looking for team but guys like Gamsu. He's a said that he's going to go back to compete and legal legends. AKM has announced that he's looking for a Valentim uncool I believe also announced from the fuel. trill another fuel player that has announced he wants to move over to looking for for a roster. If feels like a fifty fifty split between those staying in those really liked departing the scene. You know quote unquote retiring overwatch on it. It really does feel like fifty fifty based on the players that we've kind of seen publicly so far

How Man United Can Get the Most From Donny van de Beek

"Let's Talk Dhani fondue beak and. We're we're we're joined by Janjalani Hallam from our colleagues at Fox Sports in Holland. IOS Let's get right into it von Bake. A year ago he was part of the golden trio actually probably more than a trill for X. Now he goes to. Manchester United. For a fee that seems incredibly reasonable. WHAT FORTY MILLION Yet true. Night guys the first of all the price in the beginning I expanded to have fifty, five million euros that is. but then the corona came and I ex and FUN Obagi already a deal with rail it was in January. the deal was fixed. Everybody was happy fun to make especially because well, course Real Madrid maybe to get away with man united one of the biggest even world. they only have to do to medical but of course, it's always a the last thing that needs to be fixed the medical, but then corona game and then Real Madrid didn't WanNa do anymore because the actor refresh they had to sell players. So, to the fun to make a scene. On the baked team they were really really. Really. This pointed then didn't went on because they thought maybe a year earlier we should have made deal with another club because. Well, he came at the irs when he was sin but there are during the year. So many gloves informed Do you WANNA play with us like Aroma arsenal-spurs buddies? Munich and they always say, no. I'm not done at IOC yet. I WANNA say I WANNA learn here I know what I have. So in January, he was like all I mean seven happen I'm going through Madrid? I'm really happiest guy, and then he went on and lost weight. Well, there was a different There was a different ballgame. Put it that way. Now when he was a young plus the two thousand fourteen. European championship where they got to the final the Dutch and he was the outstanding player in the sooner. But he played in a different role to the one we sitting plan X. recently in everybody's asking Kenny plan the same team as finance, but he can play Deepa Connie. He can actually it's funny because when from Kabura. Who came through the first squad and he said his deposition is the number six. Position is good because he has a lot of power Most of the time used to play with the the the most kilometers behind his name off in the match he can penetrate the book he's he's really intelligent. He thinks he can play between the line. He said he's my ideal number six offer lushest show in a left I. He thinks himself he can be six. You can be an eight and he can be a ten but then maybe as. Can Be the best position I. Think he's GonNa play the number ten position and I also think he can play with Bruno Fernandes and also with football because he's the guy who's go into the books oldest time it's never ending. He's smart can score goals he has a lot of. the only thing is. I was wondering because. I thought the interview with Man United, C C with with from the Baker's British interview. He just can't play on midfield with with. With Bruno and Fernandes. This isn't that to attack. I don't think so I don't think it's do. Almost, everybody knows what's what's expected I think sold he had good conversation with him Wednesday I think last week on Wednesday he knew everything about him he knew his specialty and he also he's also convinced that he can play with the so I think he's going to be the number then man united besides daddy place with thirty forty four or on back But I think at United best position or is she come to be the number ten?

Evel Knievel: Ramping Up To Glory

"Knievel Oh is one of the most iconic names of the twentieth century. There's a reason that people are still being compared to him nearly forty years after his last jump he rubbed elbows with Hollywood's greatest performed stunts. No one thought were possible. And pioneered the whole subject of stunting known as action sports which has blossomed into a multi multi billion dollar industry. Pretty much all of my favorite people of my childhood odor career to able able. Yeah I think we should preface this by saying most of our sources were just documentaries because there's a million documentaries on him The biggest one being being evil By Dick House House productions who did jackass a really good documentary She go check it out. After this absolutely I watched last night it is really good. Check it out on or wherever you can find it all right so Knievel performed over seventy five motorcycle jumps over his career. Most most of which were successful. Some were catastrophically unsuccessful. Many were on bikes. That weighed close to five hundred pounds. Most of the CAR Harley Davidsons. Yeah he loved Harley he he had a triumph Bonneville He actually started selling Honda motorcycles. which will get into? But I think that's crazy because Jeff I mean Jeremiah's motorcycle rider and he's like yeah it's like like motorcross jump. Bikes are like two hundred. Two hundred twenty pounds. He's jumping bike. That's three hundred pounds more than that. What's an an animal that was five hundred pounds grill? It's like jumping a hundred Yeah so these motorcycles are flat track bikes. That were. We're not designed to jump. As Joe said he also broke many many bones in his body and spent a lot of time in the hospital and against all odds he lived to a He lived to sixty nine years old. Nice Nice Nice for more impressive than his death. Defying stunts was eagles ability to act as his own promoter. Heitmann and publicist He knew how to pump up the drama and get the crowd on their feet I think that's my favorite part out of the documentary. I didn't know that evil was. He's like a handsome guy he's super now and just so confident like oozing confidence in every interview he does I. I guess it makes sense that he was so good at that. Because I mean you got I think if you have the mindset of like hey I'm going to jump over thirteen buses or whatever you also have to the confidence and be like I'm GonNa tell people who watch my stuff but like I don't know like you you talk to like race car drivers today. They're definitely there's only a few that only a few that can talk at all. Yeah EXAC- nerd. Best Friends with her dad. So it was very interesting seeing Mister Knievel and Action Green Anaconda by the way five hundred pounds. Wow which surprised me more because I. That's a big thing that makes a big meat tube. Evils Charisma inspired a new generation of stunt people around the world. He was a natural showman. con artist and outlaw. But he wasn't always evil He was born Robert. Craig Knievel on October thirteenth. Nineteen thirty in Butte Montana. Butte at the time was a small rough town known for the two things mindful of copper and bars full of miners. Robert's parents Robert Senior and an knievel gave birth to his brother. Nick a year later. Then They divorced soon after his mother moved to Reno and his father moved to California leaving Robert in Nick in the hands of their grandparents day says reading more round Butte and there is like three thirty thousand people in the town but there are three thousand prostitutes will serve all the miners so literally one tenth of the population was prostitutes. That means ten guys. We're doing the same Gal. Well Ignatius and Ama- knievel. His grandparents showered the kids with love and affection. Filling in a much-needed Ignatius We haven't Ignatius at donut. Then we haven't Agnosio. Yeah but like that's that's kind of a Sam his grandparents bought the boys Bicycles and toys and took in the fairs when Robert was eight Ignatius. Emma took him in his brother to a daredevil show. That would forever change his life from that point on the Joey Chitwood thrill show was a traveling. Extravaganza sends like a rockabilly band. Joey Chitwood Joe. Turns and driving on two wheels and what amounted amounted to be a giant commercial for Chevrolet What really interested Young Kyu knievel? was the motorcycle stunts. Riders would smash new flaming boards at high speeds. They do we lease and jumped through flaming hoops. This show sparks something in Robert. In his words I would go home and take defenders of my bicycle and put clothes pins in cards so it sound like motorcycle. That was the start of his lifelong obsession with motorcycles. And

"I always thought the Bunyip was a mythical creature an aboriginal belief about a creature with supernatural for natural powers that lived in swamps billabong creeks riverbeds and waterholes that is until I went on my walkabout I walked about yeah I saw the devilish evil spirit nearly face to face living in the world of my rite of passage on my right of passage trying to make the spiritual traditional transition into manhood I so he was masturbating on his walkabout I was aware of Bunyip sightings before but I always felt that there were made up stories that were told to children to make them stay away from dangerous areas of water I had read the Bunyip said dark for face a dog sharp teeth and claws flippers a duck like bill tusks and even horns and that someone even described it as having ahead like an EMU and the body and legs of an elevator Oh my God this is just a mishmash of crap but most people who encountered them were too afraid of these futures to be able to take notice of their appearance on my walkabout I was admiring nature walking around the middle of nowhere and hoping to obtain the personal satisfaction that would make it a home alive at the end of my adventure that I took in the outback Oh my God I realized that most people usually recount their wilderness trek by exaggerating every detail of what happened happen to them adding all these details to provide extra excitement and trill by certainly not one of those storytellers my trip started out being very dull as I was and I was okay with that as I was not looking for any near death experiences are we ever yeah like maybe almost die on this about my adventure was about being far away from my towns and cities and living off the land or survive this was not an excuse for me to take a holiday or to shirk any work that I could have been doing as I consider my walkabout about to be an important institution of my Australian upbringing my mom is an aborigine and she told me about the cuss this custom and I was hoping to meet some interesting aborigines that I could communicate indicate with but this was the most walkabout I think in his rite of passage not drink his walk this is so weird but this is mostly Isley desert that I would be in and unpopular places that usually unpopulated so I might not meet anyone I wanted to embrace a lifestyle that is firmly rooted in nature and I had hoped to develop specific nick skills and talents that would allow me to respond to this rural environment this was a way for me to stop binge watching that sure is something that I had been and doing way too much of at the time I should have taken a camera with me but all I cared was my Swiss army knife I was used to sleeping out under the stars and eaten a few bugs in my day spiders riders Lizards Scorpions and snakes did not scare me eating them no just separate thought oh of all the the Scorpions spiders lizards Scorpions snakes this guy is all over I was actually really expecting him to start telling what he was watching Netflix that is as long as they were not crawling all over me I knew that is going to be a hot dry and dusty however hated the humidity and as I was not really fond of flies and Mazey's excuse probably Australian idiom I enjoyed eating kangaroo when I got hungry so I thought that I was ready but I did not possess all the the secrets of survival and I didn't realize until it was too late at read that the outback claims an average of forty lives a year and I study up all the basic survival tips for being in the outback I knew how to light a fire without matches a new enough to wear a hat and to try and stay in the shade during the day I understood that the only thing that really matters in the outback is having enough water to drink and and I knew that I could never carry too much water with me is I would not be able to survive without it my mom showed me how to locate rock formations that are prone to catch water and these with likely would be likely to be safe to drink from she also taught me how to dig up below the surface where I might find water when I came across a dry creek bread bed my big mistake was I had not spent a lot of time being in areas that are well off the beaten track areas venomous creatures are looking at every step of the way. This is exactly what I think because you know like Australia has the most venomous animals yeah well it's weird that he's like I've I'm used to bugs and venomous creatures and eating Scorpions the the Bundy up but now he's like but I'm not used to venomous creatures and I'm like bitch you just said you are what's happening okay continue my first Dan this adventure I made a spear and I practised practice throws you got all the time I was going with an open mind and I thought that I might come in Handy as able to navigate by the sun during the day and also get bearings from the stars at night most of my time was spent searching searching for food but I do not stop at several waterholes to wash up and but I did stop at several waterholes to wash up and if they're big enough I did enjoy a leisurely dip from time to time I I had no particular destination mind so there was no hurry for me to get any place as a result I was taking it slow and easy moving along at my own pace after sixteen days of being in the outback that's insane Oh my God or holy showcase I was like he's taking a walk hike like why is he doing all this person out now this is like his like saying is right of passage so it stays in days this is making more sense now because he's going on a two hour hike and he's doing like a nine week like survival on this little hike okay sixteen days of being in the outback it started raining and the rain continued for several days which made the Earth Turn Red Earth turn green and the river started to overflow I I was so happy to see the rain that I started dense that I started dancing around it was coming down but after two days of a steady downpour and I wanted it and I climbed up a tree to feed out of the puddles that we're all around and that is when I saw that I I was not sure what I was looking at but then I put it together that this was indeed a Bunyip Bunyip dry saw had a long had long looking in front legs in thick short hind legs that appeared to be very strong had long closet and it was covered in grey feathers God when it was in the water it was able to swim like a frog rog but when it got to the shore it walked on its hind legs standing twelve or thirteen feet being about the size of a small cow I felt safe being up in a tree but my curiosity was starting to get the better of me and I wanted to get a closer look I was not sure if this creature was a ferocious carnivore Predator or maybe it was just a gentle urban for but I stayed up in the tree thinking that it's better to be safe than sorry that is the story I am sticking with and you can believe me or not okay you don't even know what to say well I think it's funny that like twelve or thirteen feet tall that's two of me can you imagine to like how tall it is he balcony of my house and then he's like yes so it was about the size of a small cow well what an like if accounted up straight they'd be pretty

"When you wake up choke down your morning coffee. I just I told you about that tweet before the, the break there, the news. And you'd think adults would look at that and go, okay. All right. Whatever the president, basically posts a video, and you can find it on his Twitter account where he. It's just there's Trump sizes of stream of trilling, sterling Trump signs, twenty twenty eight twenty thirty to twenty thirty six all the way up to like the year nine thousand or something like that is, it's a funny video set to music. It's harmless fun. But you would never know that, by the way left has reacted to it. It's a direct threat to our liberty. We must begin impeachment proceedings right now as you get Jerry Nadler, on the phone knocked pet sandwich out of his mouth, and tell him one person isn't shouldn't need a foot long or six foot long sub just tell him that and then let him know about what Donald Trump is planning. He must be stopped media, right? This is the supposedly sane real journalistic outfit, that looks at the media and reports on the media. They have a post up by somebody named Aiden McLaughlin. The headline Trump posts insane Twitter video threatening to be president for eternity. Threaten. Okay. That's not what the video is. But even if he were, if Donald Trump came out today and said, I will be present for eternity. I think that's not possible. I don't leave rely of medical journals. So maybe I missed something. But I think if we found the secret to eternal life, it might have made them, the bigger wider news, it might have escaped the pages of the New England Journal venison and then crossed over, you know, not many stories do, so maybe there's a bit of a lag time. But this is the world that we live in, if Donald Trump is for it, the left is, again, if Donald Trump actually found the key to eternal life, the left would be all against it. I mean, they did were responsible for one hundred million deaths last century. So I mean, they do have a history of it, but I love the they are very serious about this. And the post they have journalists after journalists tweeting about how this is a dangerous precedent. This is what is going on here. What is happening? How could this be? We must. Stop Donald Trump. He has to be stopped. He's, he's talking about the twenty second amendment now. He's talking about ignoring reality, and living forever. That's what he's talking about. It's called the joke and we used to be able to take them. Now, we elect them that's the difference. Now they control the house of representatives. We used to be able to take joke. Now, they run the house of representatives, and they run every major media outlet. Somebody named Emma? Viglen. V. I. G. E. L. A N D. She is, she's part of the young Turks, which is named after a group of people who committed the median genocide, but you gotta love that jank Uber name like what can I name, it Nazis, a little too, on the nose? But I still want the genocide vibe. I've got it. They young Turks and their allegedly wildly popular on YouTube. Although if you look up the popularity ranked their videos by popularity. The ones that talk about, like celebrity nip slips, those are the videos that get the millions of views and their discussions of politics, don't get that many. But once you find a billionaire willing to cut you checks. You don't really have to produce must be nice to have a billionaire patron, if there are any billionaires out there looking to get in the patron business, get a hold of me, but she saw this video from the president of the United States, immediately, clutched her pearls. And then I imagined typed with one hand because she was so disturbed couldn't let go of her pearls, she, perhaps she's like one of those five hundred pound people who grow into their couch, but she's got her pearls touch soak lightly cut tightly that maybe she can't unclench them. She tweeted out, I'm not one to get riled up over Trump tweets, but this one is pretty damn scary. This man doesn't believe in a democratic form of government. And now he's putting feelers out there. He must be he has to be defeated. He's putting feelers out there for eternal life. And this will. Is supposedly, you know, a journalist for the young Turks? So the bar is pretty low the world limbo champion. A hard time getting under this bar. It'd be considered a journalist for the young Turks. But this is the modern left. It's not just the lunatic over at the New York Times who can't take a joke. It's everybody. Everybody's forgotten how to take a joke, and it's all because of Donald Trump. It's incredibly sad and disturbing but I bet you this'll be Rachel Maddow right now is ripping up all of her scripts that she's meticulously written. She wants. She got a corner of her report card from Donald Trump's second grade report card and a third card marking. She was gonna do an hour on that about how this big scandal that is citizenship was only a B, plus a now, she has to pull it out because Donald Trump has secretly found the key to eternal life, and plans on, never leaving the White House. This is what's going on, on the left. So when I say it's the woke Olympics, it kind of is the woke Olympics. If you just mean woke in terms of everything is incredibly. Stupid and we're still year and a half. We're still a half a year away before the Iowa caucuses and this is how the left is responding. Well, you got them going after Joe Biden for saying he's able to work with horrible. People. We've got Joe Biden's campaign talking to media outlets like the Washington Examiner saying, we've tried to talk to him to tell him maybe you should probably not use racist, Democrats as examples. You could actually know say Bob Dole I used to be able to get along with Bob Dole, and nobody would go. That's disgusting. How can you do that? But no, he has to pick, not only to segregationist racist Democrats, but to people that most people have never heard of there are more voters of me in the millennial generation than there are in the baby boomer generation, that's a scary thought, let that sink in. So when you're pulling up deep cuts from the Democrats racist past back to the sixties of senators that you worked with the try and give examples of how. Civility used to rain you are causing people to go, who the hell what is he talking about, you could use examples from their lifetime? Joe John McCain. Okay. I don't think you and John McCain agreed on a whole lot, John McCain is a squishy Republican, but I don't think you know his pretty good on most things about ninety percent unconservative issues. You could've used that example, but crazy uncle Joe couldn't do it. His campaigns worried about it got Cory Booker out there, saying, I could not be white guys running mate, because I we need diversity on the ticket with what the hell is diversity. If white guy, a black guy is not diversity. When we come back, I said, there's so much more to get to. We still have to get the Justin Fairfax, but talk about AO sees latest defense. He's really drawn. A line in the sand on this concentration.

"This is science Americans. Sixty seconds science. I'm Christopher Dodd Yata thirty million whitetail deer. Now live in North America. That's a lot of deer Meghan goal. A sensory colleges at Vassar college in poughkeepsie New York in her Hudson valley locale, there is a recent estimates here that you could have somewhere between twenty and forty deer per square mile. These prolific grazers have been blamed for many things munching on baby trees, and that's a big problem because they are going to prevent forest regeneration. They also changed the structure of the forest under story, which is no good for birds that lived there for small road and set live there, and they contribute to the lime disease problem as tick hosts to all that we can now at a new accusation that deer or altering the very acoustics of the forest by pruning, trees and changing. The way sounds like bird calls travel through the trees gaulan her team investigated plots of forest where deer graze and others where they were. -cluded in each thirty by thirty foot plot they placed a speaker at one end playing white noise. Tones. Trills? And recorded it all with a microphone in the opposite corner. Then they use software to analyze the recorded sounds. They found that while there was no difference in the loudness of the captured sounds among the plots the recordings captured in the grazed upon plots did have higher sound fidelity. Meaning they were closer in quality to the original playback tracks now on the face of it that might sound like a good thing. But as gall explains if your sound has better fidelity, it's going to be able to be picked up by more individuals. And so if you're a territorial animal, you might get into more fights if you are worried about predators. Predators might have an easier time hearing him and so higher. Fidelity is not always better. The results are in the journal, plus one and be clear. The researchers are not arguing for any specific intervention here. Yeah. I mean, the deer situation it sits a little bit of a minefield people have. And I don't know how much I want to weigh in on it. But the findings might give advocates for increased deer management a bit more ammunition. Thanks for listening for scientific American sixty seconds science. I'm Christopher Don. Yata? Oh.

"So so game over five hundred very similar percentage. But it is what it is. It's the. You know, that was the cardinals weighing seven to six back to you the top as the giant dodgers starry office series in LA yesterday on Monday Archie. Sorry on Monday, two days ago. As they win five, four trilling to one going to the nineteen. That's four times in the top of the ninth inning to take that five to lead. As a knick only single scored. Two corgis Hernandez added a run with a single, and then Stephen, Doug actually scored on a or was able to reach on the air scoring into fifth run that game for the giants as there were no home runs in this game. Except for Justin Turner, solo shot of Madison Bumgarner his seventh of the season as I was the only run I think Bumgarner or one of two runs going to see went six innings. Lot to runs on seven hits walks four strikeouts, a Homer allowed as he took notice in that one Kershaw was good. He went eight innings of one run ball, four hits no walks nine strikeouts as one hundred and ten pitches. But you know, injuries, no issues this year occur shop. He finishes that game off. Daughters might win that when they didn't, they would had him Polly pitch in the ninth inning air. But instead it was going bolt. They're going closer by committee with injury to Kelly Jansen. So Sean, all exander on Monday. And he, the four, three runs earned four total because of the air, but offered giants. Five, two in that one Braves beat the Marlins nine to one on on Monday as two key to sant- gets his first win in his first start as a major leaguer his major league debut. Was very nice. He went six innings of one run ball. Two hits two walks four strikeouts shutting down the Marlins over most. That game home runs for the Braves, came from the one that came from Ronald kunia. His sixteenth season now is he's really turned it on lately. Fish with long ball as the Braves win. Big time there, nine to one. The big one was a five run six inning for the Braves as wanna give you the line here as a Cuneo is pacing Camargo to hits Freeman. Sorry, I'll be two hits and community to all the young guys. If it's not the guys veterans can carry them. If it's on the veterans, the guys can carry them. It's kind of how it works. And that was game one of a double header game to the Braves, one as well. Six to one in this when my volts knavish gets the win. As he moves to ten and seven, eight innings of one run ball. Five hits three walks, seven strikeouts him very nicely. Kunia hit another home. Run his seventeenth. FREDDY Freeman is nineteenth of the year in this one as the Braves win easily. Again at home on Monday the Mets beat the anchors eight to five in that one game a little series. They had their between two Jacob degrom and Luis Severino was the starters Severino got beat up and this one giving up four runs on seven hits. One walk, six strikeouts two homers allowed in four innings pitched as what I say. The Mets. The Mets, even the Mets manage oak on their Instagram. They actually go look at the Mets Instagram page. It says it's the the video of the homerun. By a virus REO in the first inning Severino and he hit a pop-up basically. Like I'm telling you pop up that went over the wall in right field and they're calm. They're caption was so pervasive because the Mets play next week, the Mets play the cardinals or somebody in the there's a little little series game during the players we can. Neck and a couple of weeks during when the Little League World series starts next week. The metal be playing that game in in williamsport, Pennsylvania last year, the cartilage and it was cardinals pirates last year. They're going to be Braves Mets this year. I'll double check that. But the whole point is that we're playing the little little league park toll next week making it sound like the Yankee Stadium is a little league park, which it is..

"The middle class family iraq obviously because of the situation there's reasons which you can tell us story she's called upon to basically leave children and travel across your she basically leaves with thirty thousand dollars and yet still has to do this terrible years long journey with people smugglers paying them money all the time ever dwindling pile of money has to get put in the back of a lorry weather nearly suffocates at one point when my people think what could you just get on a plane yeah exactly and i mentioned parts of her journey she owes herself the same thing but that's a good example of how tougher border policies are often presented as a way to combat people smuggling people smuggling is actually very diverse activity the people who do it for different reasons you know some of them are migrants who are helping other migrants others are doing it purely for business reasons others are up criminal gangs who are actively looking to exploit the people that they're they're helping move around but very often presented by ficials is entirely negative activity that's threat to the people that are being smuggled but actually often it's the buddha policies themselves that kind of create smuggling and boost the trade because the hard you make it for people to travel if they really feel the need to travel then going to be more likely to turn to the services that people who who they think can help them and dana stories a really good example of how that concern you know in a few days even in her case from being something that's helping get what she wants to something that's left are completely trapped in at great risk so you mentioned she she fled iraq in two thousand fourteen when i sys swept across the north of the country took her three children all of whom are under ten with her luckily because because she was middle class and had assets at her disposal she was able to quickly gather the money that could pay a quite stab.

"And the ports channel tunnel entrance is heavily patrolled hiding under a lorry as i try to explore in my book is very dangerous and frustrating and difficult thing well you do talk about that let's talk about it now how do you hide under a laurie yeah well i mean one of the things i found is i got deeper into this project was that i started to drift away from the usual kind of stories at gathered by journalists talking talking to refugees soy become less interested in sort of what happened in your home country tell me about your dangerous journey to europe and just to be really interested in the not some boats or of these things so how literally how'd you hide under laurie and i was very lucky to find his one young man could jamal who originally came from sudan paid spent five years in europe already living on the streets is an undocumented migrant before he even made it to kelly and become a kind of expert in how you do this and you know he drew me diagrams and showed how you find laurie parkway you can wait unobserved and then when a lorry pulls up to stop just run very quickly at the back of it before the drivers got time to see in the wing mirrors and crawl underneath quickly as you can and hide yourself in between the wheel axle and the base of the container on the back of the lorry and that's a very risky daring physically demanding actively nine times out of ten of observed with people you fail you fall off you get caught you have to be able bodied to do it often it's only thing that men can access because women are either kept away by people smugglers or that just you know risk of salt from others so it's also kind of well it's like any other form travel your ease of travel is determined by wealth and class and social status and that goes for hiding on lori as much for taking an airplane taking a train so if you've got the money to pass mugler papp's they have a key.

"Numbers don't really change that much what tends to change is the intentive the country that people are coming from changes the moment it's syria you know in the nineties it was the balkans so just going back to that hypothetical example of someone you just described perhaps come in from syria crossing over into turkey as a refugee but then deciding they wanna move further on into europe so they would probably cost over into greece now though in the so what's the situation do you talk about something that's called the dublin system was that yes so just before i explain the dublin system itself one of the things that i've tried to show in the book is how you know this term refugee crisis is very familiar to everybody in most cases it's used to mean the sharp increase in the number of people coming to the eu to claim asylum in the years two thousand and fifteen and sixteen now that certainly true that was a shop increase in the number of people come into claim asylum large proportion of them maybe around half came from syria but it wasn't only syria there were people coming from fleeing wars and repression in various countries iraq afghanistan air traer places in west africa and so on but that doesn't really tell the whole story and also to talk of the refugee crisis only in those terms gives the impression of europe as this kind of pristine on solid continent that suddenly has this arrival of these strangers of course all of this chaos and that that's a completely false picture not least because europe obviously is already intimately involved in the fates of the countries that they come from europe is a continent of migration in woods outwards and the rest of it but also because as well as a refugee crisis there's also something i've tried to describe as a border crisis which is much more to do with the decisions taken by european states about who they want to let into their country and who they don't and trying to explain that as concisely as possible it's really to do with the fact that as the eu has grown and has tried to set up this kind of privy.

"Because europe is trying to deter or filter out migrants that it doesn't want coming to your from other parts of the world the the roots that refugees in that defined legal sense taking often taken by other people as well the thing that i also found through reporting the book in a way i did which is by following a series of individuals over quite long periods is that if you see it from their points of zip and appoint somebody who is trying to retain control of their life in a very difficult situation may have been forced from their home but then have to negotiate their way through three four five different countries to reach somewhere else that them moving in and out of these categories all of the time so you know somebody who flees their home in syria because of the war there say you know maybe it's a classic case of persecution there a young man who the government is trying to forcibly conscripted into the army and he flees his home when he crosses the border into say turkey patsies refugee that sense if he then decide well i'm not getting wine needs at rebuilt my life turkeys i'm going to go to europe you know he may well have a case for refugee protection in europe but as clearly other factors at play some of which are economic and that's one of the really important things to understand about these kind of experiences and that kind of migration is that just because somebody drops into one particular category or another they don't stop being a person in all of the other senses in which were people refugees have also economic interests needs an also desires i think that's a really important thing as well that people don't stop wanting things just because they may be in humanitarian need i think that's been a general failure in the way we talk about the refugee crisis and that kind of migration to really fully understand all of that and i think if you don't then it it causes problems so throughout great twentieth century obviously there was some major migration crisis these the one that your grandmother was caught up in and there's been many others but in general terms migration happens it always happens and actually the.

"All right you have to give the celtics players especially their role players and for years since i've been watching the nba which is a long long time boston celtics role players danny aines they play so much better at home this is not just this team look at the role players how well they played last night we know they have significant injuries but this has been a theme for the team we can give yes they weren't prepared for the game yes did they have a counterpunch to philadelphia what they were doing yes but the place rozier tatum you gotta give a lot of credit to what they did all right so you brought up a lot of important points there one is home road celtics in these playoffs they played eight games they are undefeated at home they haven't won yet on the road so don't discount how important that home crowd in boston the other is the guys rozier tatum poor for they combined last night for more points as a trio than paul pierce ray allen and kevin garnett ever did ever in a playoff or regular season game more points combined than those three guys ever did they all scored twenty three points the first celtics trio to do that in a playoff game since perish mikhail bird in one thousand nine hundred eighty seven only the third celtics trill to ever do it in a playoff game like so those guys were great where i will give brad stevens credit and we're much like like cc too donovan mitchell is me brad stevens on the corner early and often trying to alert people how special this player or this coaches brad stevens is in my eyes right now the best in the league at is putting guys in position to do what they do well you have you have gm and danny ainge that is has knows who his coaches and says okay i can take a guy like terry rozier who people thought was a project people thought was a rich reach we picked him out of louisville he will be coached up in order to reach his full maximum potential and then when he gets the opportunity he's going to go out there and all of a sudden give me a poor man's kyrie irving level production on offense in in a critical game.
