"Wendy's new Breakfast 2 for $3 Biggie Bundles let you create your own delicious combo. Choose from a sausage biscuit, egg and cheese biscuit, small seasoned potatoes, and a medium hot coffee. But it's obvious which combo's the best. Sausage biscuit and small seasoned potatoes. Well, maybe it's the fresh cracked egg and cheese biscuit with a medium hot coffee. Or two savory sausage biscuits. Uh, whichever you pick, you can't go wrong. Choose wisely. Choose Wendy's new 2 for $3 Biggie Bundles. Well, I'm gonna write a little letter, I'm gonna mail it to my local DJ. Before either of us were born. Yeah, it's a jumpin' little record, I want my jockey to play. Chuck Berry was a yes, yes, I'm sure. No, I wasn't. Rollover Beethoven is 1956, dude. Don't age me out. Did Chuck Berry remain a big deal after I was born? And even after you were born, yes. But this architect of rock and roll, the great Chuck Berry, who lived a long life, he would have been 97 today, only passed away about six years ago. So big happy birthday to Chuck Berry and Rhonda. So that's a nice shared birthday there. Happy birthday, Rhonda. Yeah, man. So there you go. And she looks great, don't we all? All of us skinny folks running around here just high -fiving each other with soda and all the good ways that you can take that weight off and keep it off. So happy birthday, Rhonda. Happy, happy, happy. Happy, happy, happy. I'm not so happy about Kate Grainger. I'm not so happy about Jake Elsie. I mean, you gotta explain this to me. I mean, I think I know the answer to it. Let me read a Bill Kristol tweet. This is what Bill Kristol wrote. Really? Really? Well, I think it applies. I think it applies to the Kate Graingers of the world, because I want to understand what they're thinking. I mean, Trey Gowdy last night said that people aren't mad. It's not against Jim Jordan. They are taking it out on Jim Jordan supporters. That's really what this is about. Bill Kristol posted something on X, formerly Twitter, yesterday that I thought was really notable. He wrote, I came to DC to work in the Reagan administration because, to oversimplify, it was pro -constitution, pro -U .S. global leadership, pro -military, pro -Israel, pro -democratic capitalism, and pro -American dream. And that's why I now support the Biden administration and Democrats.
RFK Jr. Backtracks on Calling the NRA a 'Terror Group,' Endorsing Dems
"It's clear that he's going to seek some support from conservatives. So as I said with the speaker's raise if you never fall in love with personalities and you fall only in love with outcomes i .e. how do they vote and do they do conservative stuff you will never have a problem. Oh but I love Trey Gowdy. I love Matt Gaetz. I love Allen West. I love this guy. Great! I don't care. All I care about is how they vote. All I care about with RFK as well is how he would vote and I'm reasonably confident that a guy who tweeted out that the NRA was a terror group has voted or supported publicly every Democrat of the last 20 or 30 years voted for Obama and endorsed every Democrat is not going to do any conservative stuff so when you don't fall in love with politicians and you stick with outcomes you will never ever be steered wrong. Jim if you would up queue for me cut seven here's RFK who doesn't seem to have an answer. Do you still think the NRA is a terror group? I support the second amendment like I do all the amendments of the Constitution. I didn't ask you if you support the second amendment you called in 2018 you said Parkland students are right the NRA is a terror group do you believe that? I don't consider the NRA a terror group. Do you I don't recall tweeting it in 2018 but if I did as I said Sean I don't consider them a terror group and I support the second amendment. Do you regret endorsing Al Gore John Kerry Barack Obama Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders over the years. I got it. I don't have it. I don't recall endorsing Bernie Sanders I like Bernie Sanders I voted
TikTok's China-Aligned CEO Appears Before Congress
"Dive right into the TikTok story. I want to play some piece of tape here. This guy is Chinese Pete Buttigieg. He does whatever he is told. He has been uploaded with pre programmed answer. The guy's name is Xu Chu, or shout you, and he does not deny that TikTok's parent company in China has access to American sensitive user data, play cut 77. Yes, or no. Do any bite dance employees in China, including engineers currently have access to U.S. user data. Today, all U.S. user data is stored by default in the Oracle cloud infrastructure and access to that is controlled. I American fancy employees in China, including engineers currently have access to U.S. data. Congressman, I would appreciate this is a complex topic. Today, all data. Yes or no, do they have access to user data? After project Texas is done, the answer is no. Jack is here, Jack, welcome. Your thoughts. Yeah, Charlie. So when we see what's going on with this TikTok interview. And I appreciate the fact that we're actually holding this. I'm skeptical that much will actually come of the hearing because, I mean, let's face it. The Democrats already lost Twitter because of Elon Musk. They're not going to give up TikTok, which is their most powerful platform. This is the platform, which is completely owned by the Chinese Communist Party with which the Chinese Communist Party uses to influence our youth to log what's going on and track everything that's going on on their on their phones. And then also, of course, is pushing whatever the latest trend in degeneracy and insanity is. So I remember, you know, it reminds me of Trey gowdy when he used to hold his trials. That was hearings that never actually went anywhere. But that being said, the fact of the matter is this, that mister show Chu or whatever he wants to say, we know for a fact that at the CCP, once access to any of these databases to any of these servers, they are going to have full and complete access to it the parent company ByteDance, which was the creator of TikTok. Also known as douyin in China. Of course, the algorithms that they are used to push. Unfortunately, I feel like the right questions aren't being asked yet at this hearing. Because you need to ask, why is it that certain out that the algorithm promotes certain videos and certain functions, these degenerate dances, this craziness, you can go, look at libs of TikTok and see all the sorts of stuff they promote, gender surgery, genital mutilation, et cetera, for kids, but in China, that type of stuff is suppressed and what is actually promoted in China, classical learning,
Trey Gowdy Criticizes In-Fighting Between Trump & DeSantis
"I want you to hear Trey gowdy last night. Good guy. Former prosecutor out of South Carolina, U.S. congressman, now he's got his own show on Fox and he is uncomfortable not with the Santos attacking Trump, but he doesn't like Trump's attacks of Ron DeSantis. Ron has been taking on taking on weaponry, taking on attacks for weeks now. I mean, you mentioned he had an overwhelming victory in November and yet when a president Trump surrogates accused Ronald fixing the vote. Another one of president Trump's surrogates said that he was backed by George Soros. So I mean, at a certain point, whether you're running for president or not, you have to defend yourself, I don't know. I have not asked Ron, we serve together. I have not asked him if he's running for president. I think other people are going to get in, but you know, they know me, the whole process is really so degrading. I mean, you've got allegations of grooming high school students when you were a teacher, all this fixation over nicknames. I mean, we're picking the leader of the free world. The leader of the most important country in the world, and we are debasing ourselves with having these little quarrels over nicknames and allegations to go back 30 years that are really preposterous. I just think we ought to do better than that.

"The hour, 323-410-0458 is the number. That was Matt. Yates. Mmm um. I'm gonna be nice. Can we talk about the whistleblowers that were debunked in stories on Friday, the same day he gave this speech? Yeah, and he went on to say about Democrats smearing. This is okay. Yeah. Go for it. So we took a deposition of a brave patriot named Garrett, oh Boyle, who served in the FBI. And yesterday, judiciary Democrats put out a smear piece on him. They took really out of context, portions of his testimony, and they tried to discredit. What he shared with us as a whistleblower because he's a vaccine skeptic. And because when the FBI left him without pay, and without the ability to earn other income, there were people who gave him a few $1000 so that he was able to buy a winter coat for his children and be able to meet the month's bills. He was fired from the FBI for his bad record. And cash Patel gave him money to testify. Paid him cash paid cash. Yeah. Wow. And he went on to and so it is no longer time to go back to the old, low energy, Paul Ryan, Trey gowdy days of fake oversight. These are the Jim Jordan, Marjorie
Deadlock in the House
"Welcome back, America, the 20 did a bad bag thing. The 20 people who have paralyzed the House of Representatives and frustrated all the tens of millions of people who voted in the election of the past November to put Republicans in charge of the house and bring balance back 20 members are standing in the way. Trey gowdy, former member of Congress on special report last night, said this, cut number 6. Look, I got bad news for Kevin's opponents. He's got a lot more than 20 friends. So there are more than 20 people that are going to say, you know what? We're not ever voting for anyone else. I mean, Brett, you got a guy who's got 200 votes and the next leading vote getter for very good reasons doesn't want to be the Speaker of the House. And yet this kamikaze wing within the Republican Party knows better than 85% of the rest of the conference. Jimmy doesn't want the job for very good reasons. So I don't know what happens. I will say this. They didn't want to secure border. That is not what the negotiation was over Brett. It was, there are a handful of people who won't gavels and want things that they can't get me so merit and they can't get it based on intelligence, but they want it given to them by the Speaker of the House and Kevin said no. That is, by the way, the bottom line. People are asking for the world and they're not going to get it. Cut
Mark Levin Addresses 'Life, Liberty & Levin' Not Airing Last Sunday
"I will speak bluntly I've heard from a lot of you A whole lot of you That you were quite angry That life liberty and Levin did an air this Sunday And so we got two hours of Trey gowdy I get it The program I had prepared was totally relevant that was taking place but they wanted live programming And this Sunday I couldn't do it So we put together a fantastic show We had Alan west And James Carr found out two combat retired lieutenant colonels And I thought a killer monologue and we went into this a great depth Nothing really changed on Sunday from a newsworthy perspective That required the program to be preempted or canceled if you will But because the push was for all live programming we couldn't do it So I regret it You would have loved the show I'm sure I'm trying to avoid the same fate for this Sunday And I will do the very best I can But there's going to reach a point that if this keeps happening there's no point in me ever doing this show right Mister producer It's not a threat It's just okay If you want to do more of the same I'm not the guy I'm not the more of the same guy I'm just not It's the same with radio It's the same book writing It's the same with the Levine TV on blaze It's Popeyes said I am who I am And I don't mean maybe Or something like that Been a long time since I've watched Popeye

I was struck by a common things that I do not recall highlighted in prior years. It was a theme that I felt strongly was consistent with the story of the heroes of flight 93 all those we lost on September 11th. I experienced a moment of clarity. That brought my understanding of hero is, um And of sacrifice to an uncomfortable reality. Moving me to question who we are as a society. What struck such a nerve was not the annual reminder to honor And remember the thousands of lives ripped from the embrace of their families. "Boo hoo! And where are you sleeping? See? So swallow Well, tweeted Boo hoo! Where you sleeping when Susan Collins and her staff got violent rape threats During the Cabinet hearings, so it's it's a stupid, ridiculous game that they're playing, trying to pretend like it's Trump's fault. Flashback to Ted Lieu, Democrat from Hawaii on November 11th of 2017. When they go low, we fight back. So those are just some examples. One of the interesting things that hurt today. And this was from Trey Gowdy. Love him or hate him. I like a lot of a tray has said Some stuff I don't like. But for the most part, I like a lot of ways, said Trey, who I believe was a prosecutor or former U s attorney or something like that. And he was, of course, the House of Representatives member Trey Gowdy. Is one of the regular folks on on Fox. Now. Trey said that, um I've been saying it all along, he said. If they really wanted the prosecutor again, I think God he was a former federal prosecutor is a former federal prosecutor. So he would know And he says they made a whole mistake. I said it. He said that if they want to get him, they should have gone after Trump for what happened after the riot. Um, how did he handle himself? What do you say? What do you do, and the Democrats have a damning statements have damning stuff on Trump. I will be honest with you when when that shows that he didn't say or do anything. I think for two hours or hour and a half I could be wrong, but that's what I recall hearing. Um, in the timeline. That it was like an hour or I'm gonna have two hours after the riots started where we made this statement, and he also was wasn't 100% Get the hell out of here and and didn't you know? Get on the phone and call the people in charge of the capital. And the military and say, Get over there and get the stop all this crap so that and then the video he did finally do like two hours or 2.5 later later, a two half hours later was way late and way too much and stuff. So, um, it looks worse there than it doesn't have Rob.

"Then most critically, Trey Gowdy was talking about this during The siege of the capital. He egged the people on and called out Mike Pence for being a coward as they were chanting, Find pence and hang him or whatever they were chanting. If you laid out the entire case, you would get more Republicans. But it wasn't the point like it, and I'd be a lot harder to vote against, right. Well, you had to have it be weak with this playbook now being kind of mortar talked about in the open. You think there's a chance of a pivot from the Republicans saying We don't want to give them the campaign ads going forward, and I'd also be interested in your guy's taken by voting to convict. But there's still too scared of the dangerous 90% approval. Trump's got in the Republican Party and I keep thinking about the list Cheney vote which I believe was anonymous. Do you think of these votes were anonymous? Would it change? How much would that change the trajectory of this thing? He was given the current charges. Not much. Excuse me for the reasons we've laid out if they were to make the case like I was describing it. Yeah, I think you'd get quite a few anonymous Republican vote. Yeah, it would help. Obviously, his anonymous It's different the Senate in the house because you don't have as many people, so it's not as easy to have girls. Even if it was anonymous. "On a rap on radio dot com. Mike Gallagher, I want you to hear this monologue almost in its entirety as Lori Lightfoot, the mayor of Chicago is basically begging the teachers union. Please go back to the classroom. They've got these Democrat mayors now who are faced with, you know, you know. Hey, you're all around. Roll around in the what is what's the old expression roll around the mud? You gonna get a little dirty here now You're dealing with the teachers unions. You weren't going back to work. They won't go into the classroom. Despite the CDC, saying it's safe. We've got to open up our schools. We gotta let our kids get an education again. Lori Lori Lightfoot. Furious. It seems with the Chicago Teachers Union. So listen to Trey Gowdy's monologue last night on Fox News, recounting a story and tying it together with his wife, who apparently is an educator. And what's happening in cities like Chicago right now. Somewhere years ago. What was driving my daughter to school and along the way we passed a child walking The backpack was bigger than he was. It wasn't a road most kids would be walking on and the kids that did live on that road. Well, they didn't have to walk to school. Looked at that child in the rear view mirror as we passed him moving this fast is his little feet would go Dropped our daughter all but I couldn't get the image of that child out of my mind. So instead of turning towards the courthouse Went back towards him and there he was still walking down the road. I pulled up beside him. Roll the window down and said, Don't be afraid. I have Children about your age to do you need a ride somewhere? Well, where you trying to get to son? He called the name of the school when it was a school. Miles and miles away. Said, son. You're you're not gonna make it walking. Do you want to ride? They didn't answer And frankly, I didn't blame him. Here was a strange man asking him to get in the car. And I said, son, I'm not going to hurt you. But by the time you get to school, it will be over. Let me help you. He got in the car and said My mom overslept. I missed the bus, but I didn't want to miss school. Did the math in my head that child had already been walking. For about an hour. And he had hours yet to go. But that was how bad he wanted to be in school. That is the power of education. It could change your life. It can change generations of lives after yours. Even at his young age, this child understood the power of education. My wife teaches first grade. She gets up every morning at 4 A.m. to go teach other people's Children. I would rather roof houses in July barefoot And teach six year olds, but I couldn't do it. She loves it. She has never once said a word about her own health. During this pandemic she puts on her mask and she goes to school because she loves the Children, and she knows the power of education and every day missed hurts. The Children. I want you to contrast that with what is happening in Chicago and other places where it seems like the teachers have all the time in the world for dance videos and union meetings, but no time. For the Children. Then they can give you all the reasons not to go back in the classroom, but they can't seem to find a single reason to go back in the classroom. Teaching is hard work. Even what Allah penned in it. It's hard work, I get it. But if you don't want to teach Don't do something else. John Kerry and Kamila Harris. And may repeat. They got lots of employment advice. You could go build solar panels, you could go clear landmines. I wonder what advice they have for the teachers in Chicago who aren't willing to follow the science and go back to the classroom. I want you to keep this dichotomy in your mind. The image of a young boy walking to school for hours. Getting in the car with a stranger. Because he understood the power of education to change his life. Now contrast that with the image of those dancing teachers in Chicago That child knew the power of education and being in school. I wish the teachers in Chicago Do as much as he did. That's powerful. He's right. He's right. 806 55 Mike, Let's get your reaction. Here's the Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot, begging the Chicago teachers. Please go back to work. And as the expression goes, the proof is in the pudding. CPS had three weeks of successful implementation of these mitigation plans in our schools. That was until the sea to you blew up that success and created chaos that we're now enduring and also remember. CPS staff and principles. Have been in our schools throughout this pandemic feeding our kids. Getting them ready for the return of students and continuing the hard work every single day one of the Chicago teachers doing they're making dancing videos there by themselves on zoom, dancing and laughing and seemingly mocking the kids. They're hurting, unreal. It's disgraceful. Every last one of them. It's a disgrace and everybody knows it. What 806 55 might join us. Yeah..

"All of the manpower that went into the intelligence investigations House Intelligence Committee all the people that worked on those reports for them, Chairman Devin Nunes, now ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee. All of the people that worked on this that actually believed even in the media beyond me that actually believed that you know we were exposing. And we did expose one of the biggest stories in American history, which, really in modern American political history would show that people from an opposing party. Under the Obama administration were out to target The election. Of a presidential candidate. And then, of course, President elect Trump and then president Trump. And we've seen that for four years, and John Germ has done nothing. And Attorney General William Barr did nothing. We now hear that Kevin Kline Smith, who's the attorney who basically falsified a FISA, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant. On a U. S citizen Carter Page who wasn't just I mean is a U. S citizen. My gosh, Let's just trample all over the Fourth Amendment. But Carter Page was also assisting the United States and assisting the CIA. This was no accident. They targeted Carter Page when they knew well and good. That there was nothing there. In fact, they targeted President Trump when they knew there was nothing there. In fact, they wasted taxpayer dollars and destroyed people's lives. With an investigation by Robert Mueller. My investigation by Robert Mueller that should never happen. That basically tied up the United States and this administration for four years. And guess what, all of those same people that should be held accountable or now going to be entering The Biden and ministry. That's what I asked about it. I want to ask you about that next era. And so it's a perfect transition. It feels like a lot of people who were a part of that. You look at Brennan and you look at Sally Yates and different people that are in and around the DOJ. The state Department you know they're either coming back in better jobs. This administration Or they're very connected to and sort of waiting to get some kind of a gig with this administration, whether in an informal or formal advisory role. It feels like they pulled off the scam, and they all got promoted. They all got promoted. In fact, Peter Struck's wife is getting from promoted to the SEC big position at the Security and Exchange Commission, which guess what is going to oversee a lot of the issues that we're dealing with with big tech? Tell me about that. You know, here we have Peter struck. The FBI literally fired him the good people inside the FBI because he lied because of his involvement in the investigation and cross fire hurricane into President Trump. Now his wife. Well, he cheated on openly in front of the entire country is going to get you know a very good position at the SEC. She may be great. She may be a fantastic attorney, but the objects look Terrible. And what about Samantha? Power? You know, the former U. N ambassador under President Barack Obama. That was literally unmasking Americans to the tune of over. 200 then told you know, then Congressman Trey Gowdy during a hearing. Oh, I didn't do all of those. Someone must have been basically signing and my name. Now she is going ahead, Yusa. Joe Biden. And you have Susan Rice coming in to head his equity, You know, Division, making sure everything's equitable. Sounds very very, You know, Chinese Communist to me now is to be let's make sure everything's equitable. How are you gonna make sure of that? How do you make sure everything's equitable These these are, you know positions of power that are being given back to people that are going to have access to some of the greatest tools. And the history of the world. You know, I like it When people say you know, Big tech. They're the most powerful. This is the most powerful we've ever seen on industry or corporation at any point in time in the history of mankind. Why, Because it's global. So big tech But also what about the government? The tools in our own government? And it makes me wonder. Like, How is it possible that you know so many people from all over the world, they look to the United States as a beacon of light. They look to the United States as a place where the justice system actually means something where corruption is outed where people pay the price. Yet what we've seen over the last four or five years. Is that nobody has answered for any of this. Nobody that was involved in the Russia hopes paid the price and then they're going to do it again. Sarah, that's um, Unfortunately, they've learned they've learned how to do this better. The next time will be probably less sloppy and there has not been accountability. But hopefully folks like you out there will Where where they can break the big stories and get the truth out. There is the American people can see it. Sarah a. Carter dot com is your website. "Family back for the last half hour show. We're talking about TV ratings. By the way, the guy who texted is the joke. What do you never do with a particle physicist Father make waves around the house That made me laugh out loud. And also sent me down a rabbit hole of finding all the Schrodinger's cat jokes that I know Cause those are funny or they're not. We don't know. See that in and of itself. Okay. If you don't know what Schrodinger's cat is, you have to look that up to get any of these jokes. And even then, not that funny. Where are they? Could go either way. I'm just saying, we're talking about prime time ratings for the news networks. CNN after having a stunningly good January has now collapsed. Some of their programming is down by almost 50%. Um Fox News not down as much, but they had already tanked quite significantly around the election and MSNBC also down just not as much as CNN. And I'm asking our audience the question. If you thought watching Fox News why I'd like to know. I mean, I think I know And what could they do to get you back? Because they made a bunch of shuffling. They shuffled things in their lineup there shuffling people. 303713 85 85 a lot of people texting us saying, Um, I only watch Lauren Tucker so disappointed in the reporting so have turned off the news. Mandy switch to Fox business in the morning news from the money side, This'll says. I stopped watching all news. I needed to decrypt decompress and laugh for a while. I'm easing back into the news. I I feel that I definitely feel that I think a lot of people were just stung. By the way, everything has gone down. So maybe they were just taking a little media time out. Let me grab Ronald in the springs there. Hey, Ronald, your own Kay away. What's on your mind, everybody. I didn't do a good show. They I'll be the box watching a guy off since 9 11. When I was working at direct security counterintelligence for my agency Now in the last year, I started cutting back on Fox shows. Not pops total this certain shows which specifically Ah, Hannity, Okay, specifically because he got a little too far out into the weeds for my liking. Because he had his nose up trumps, but Ah! Most likely I'm trying to keep you from bitten SEC replaced. No, that's okay. I can say it in a way. That sounds a lot classier than it actually is. Okay, So what? I watch your boxes today, Maria Bartiromo will in the morning followed by Barney. Oh, so you're watching Fox business. Well in the morning. I do right and safeties in the afternoon. About one o'clock I watch list Clayman, but I take Martha's if they moved her show. In the evening. One o'clock, So I say screwed over Martha MacCallum. They totally screwed her over and that made me mad. She got caught up in the Chris Wallace crystal walled debacle. And I don't want to quit. Watch Chris Wallace, almost A year ago. Well, Chris Wallace, for me ruined my warm and fuzzy feelings for Chris Wallace at that debate when he was awful, just awful. I joined the debate team of biting the Wallace got him. It was it was I and part of it. I think the reason that had such a huge impact is that I Never saw that coming. I just did not see it coming. And when it happened, it was so disappointing. You know, it was like, Wow, I did not expect that. Of course, Wallace. But any continue your thoughts? Sorry to interrupt. Okay, So what I do watch Yes. Do watch. Brit hair, and that leads into the show that they replaced Martha with Mrs Sobol Arben. Uh, Brian, Kill me. Or week then and Maria for weeks, and this week they got trig out. And I think they're trying people out. Yeah, and Trey had a great show last month. I got to tell you I would love to see truck. Trey Gowdy on TV..

"Say I'm going to talk about some fun things, some light things and then the stories they just keep on comin. And before you know what it's three o'clock the show has ended and I say Maybe tomorrow, but not tomorrow because now we have a new segment. Ah, lot of you guys know my producer Jared Giglio. He helps with Howie Carr show. He's the executive producer of the Grace curly show and he's very opinionated. He always says a story for you. He always has something He's found on the Internet. And I said to Jared, I want you to start coming up with some stories, and we'll call it the producers picks now feel free guys, if if you hear any of these stories, and you feel you need to weigh in on it, maybe tell Jared it's fake news or, you know, asked where he got his sources 844 542 42. Our lines are always open and you can also text in 63566. Without being said. At some point, we will have some sort of fancy sound kind that Jared deserves. But for right now, I would like to formally introduce the first edition of Producers picks I will circle back with you on the open. Thank you, sir. So I'm gonna be an Uzi in my first one because this is his big news. It's political House Democrats today filed their impeachment trial brief against President Donald Trump. Okay, now explain to everybody what that means. So the impeachment trial brief, basically is a document that lays out The case that you are going to make For any trial. This is the We are accusing the defendant of if it's a robbery, battery, blah, blah. And and in this case, if you want to read the brief, the full brief is up a judiciary dot house dot gov. I went there. It's 80 pages Nice. And if I want to read 80 pages of fiction, I can guarantee you it's gonna be about Star Trek. But Manu Raju The congressional correspondent for CNN did a really nice job of kind of breaking down the four key parts. Okay? Yes, I get it CNN, But when it comes to the impeachment of President Donald Trump, you know they're gonna be buttoned up. And, honestly, anyone who will spark no 80 pages is good in my book, whether or not they we left or right, if you're making our jobs easier, and you're cutting out the crap we're onboard, So these were the four Key parts of the impeachment trial. Brief one Trump's actions pre election where he claimed mass fraud. So free speech free speech. Okay, got it. To quote unquote stopped the steel and disinformation after November, 3rd. Disinformation, as in things they disagree with. Okay. Got it. Free speech again. Free speech together, okay? Number 3 January sixth and his comments at the rally. The march peaceably and let your voice be heard. So free speech again. Excitement free speech yet again, okay? Here, arguing its constitutionality. The election. I'm assuming Okay, So I'm glad you brought this up, jerk and I'm not trying to hone in on Producers picks Absolutely not. This is a symbiotic but man slow you make David Marcus woman Big fan of from the Federalist. He had a good piece out today, where he kind of broke down. Trump's what Trump could possibly do with this impeachment, And he said, Why Trump should press his case on voter fraud? Which I was surprised by because David Marcus is usually, um He's I don't want to say he's a late in life, Trumper, but he's been open the past that he's been skeptical of Trump. And now he really I think he really is on the team of Trump has to keep fighting. And he broke down like three possibilities of what Trump might do, He said. The ability to lay out the case on why he didn't incite a riot and that there is widespread fraud may seem irresistible Trump on all three counts. Trump has a very reasonable arguments to make As far as the question of incitement. I made a longer argument in these pages, but it boils down to the idea that Trump's actions were way too broad and indirect to be considered an incitement. Like we said free speech. That's hard dependent. I'm just skipping around here. Number two We also now know that the writing had started a mile away from Trump's speech before he finished speaking, and that elements were pre planned. The case for incitement is far weaker than the media would have you believe? Finally comes the most controversial potential defense that there really was massive voter fraud. Too many Republicans too many Republicans and not being shamed now into not making a very important argument about election security will be the most trump thing in the world to show up in the Senate and fight the fight. They refused to. Trump seems poised to get a win. When the votes are cast in his trial. The question is, how big will the wind be? I think your answer is based on how broad the scope of his acquittal is. Trump doesn't want to win on a technicality. He wants to win on the merits. Ah, fighter doesn't hide behind constitutional controversy. He says. You tried me. I won Now This is what I find very Nerve racking because the the safe part of me wants to say, fight it on constitutionality. I mean, you can't impeach somebody who's already out of office. But then part of me says, Yeah, this is Trump. He's going to get out there and he's going to say all right, You guys want to drag me out here for 100 days? You you want to bring in this circus of press? Then let's let's have a performance. Let's put on a show that is Trump. So I'm kind of open for case Number three. And actually speaking of Lindsey Graham was talking T o Trey Gowdy. On, I believe was Fox. But he had this to say about the impeachment and, moreover, charge number or brief key part number. Three about inciting To my Democratic colleagues. If you vote to call one witness, none were called.

Anderson four. The vacationing Rick Roberts and Then I got to tell you there is just so much going on. We spoke about the plans for Joe Biden. As far as illegal immigration goes, our sovereignty is basically going to Be under attack. He's eliminating a lot of the things that the president wanted to do and did do. Regarding illegal immigration. So what will the next four years bring? As far as Joe Biden is concerned? I mean, we we've been sort of touching all the bases today. Whether it's Illegal immigration pretty much opening up the borders. The president former president is going to looks like Nancy Pelosi is gonna walk over those articles of impeachment to The Senate, the Senate the Republicans are saying you don't have the votes. Nancy Pelosi simply does not care. A couple of the other things that Joe Biden is going to do it looks like he is going to re enter the Iranian nuclear deal of that is a disaster for Israel, and quite frankly, for the rest of the world that Terry is in for worth on line three. W B A P. Terry, Go ahead. Good afternoon. Thanks for taking my call. I'll get right to the point. All the things I've heard today, and I hear daily on Wi Fi B a P and thank you all for being honest and truthful people. Because there's very few media like y'all left, but everything that you lifted. I mean that administration that has basically taken over our house or Senate with all the hate the evil, the corruption, the The violence. They're full of it, and where I've been overwhelmed is I really hoped and prayed every day of it. At the end, there would be something that some moves that President Trump would pull. To basically to save this nation from this, But now we're under the administration and many of us who stood and fought and defended him who I still believe in our standing here with our hands open. It's kind of like your way you're gonna On an appointment and someone doesn't show And you just like, what do we do now? Because we're basically at the mercy of these crooked, horrible people who have taken over every Viable government place in our country. What do we do now? So Terry, here's what I would say to you and I've been saying this to people since November, 3rd First of all. Europe. I appreciate your loyalty to trump You've got to be loyal to trump values. To the values of make America great again. So all of the things that I just mentioned Whether it's Donald Trump or Trey Gowdy, or I don't know Ted Cruz. It's the values of make America great again, Magda that we really do need to embrace whether or not the candidate is Donald Trump or or someone else. That's number one number two. You've got to take care of your own Your own home You've got have spread the brilliance of conservative values to your kids, Your friends, your family, your neighbors, your church all of these things. Are things that we really do need to do to enable our country to continue to be great. The problem is that everybody put so much stock. In whatever the next move, the Trump was going to make that people like you, Terry. Phil, feel really empty and let down and unfortunately what happens is you do get to the point. If you're President Trump where you've exhausted. All of your options, and you have nowhere left to turn the courts. They, you know, they wouldn't hear that the evidence and the lawsuits got thrown out. No standing all of the things that happened, and so it left the president with no real way to turn. But what I would tell you is instead of being so angry and frustrated that he's not here for the next four years. Think about the great things that he did the last four years and think about how Joe Biden and this is kind of a weird, sardonic way to think about this, but the Democrats are going to screw up. They're going to raise taxes. They're gonna destroy jobs, and there's going to be consequences for that. And hopefully Terry, it's going to be at the ballot box. And I know I'm probably not helping you feel better. But I'm just I'm telling you that I already see light at the end of the tunnel, and that's going to be 2022. If you own that I do and I'm going to stand strong. For the conservative and for the righteous people this country. In the other thing that I would say Terry is you're already on the right track because you listen to Rick Roberts and W B A P. Thanks for the call. Espinola. I hope I'm saying that right and four worth is on line four. W B A P Go ahead, ma'am. Thank.

"We have soldiers sleeping in the halls of your Congress. Explain that kind of put put your finger on the pulse and tell the American people what's happening there this afternoon. Yeah, well, we're making sure that people know that this is not gonna happen again. The other question we have concerning what happened last week is where was the breakdown of intelligence? And was there a breakdown in intelligence? Because we're hearing that there was warning given that this was going to be a large crowd, and there were potentially some very unruly people. They didn't just react to his speech became with full intentions of attacking the capital, and so who who decided not to call out the National Guard ahead of time. Think about that if they had been there ahead of time. There would be no impeachment based on what they're talking about, right? Because it would not have happened. It would have been squelched almost immediately. And so now you see the president there and, yeah, you know, Look, I'm a soldier, and I know how these things work. And when you're called up and you're going to work you you have a break. You have played place to sleep. And you know what? Soldiers. They're tough. We'll sleep on concrete. You've seen it during war. We'll sleep on mats who doesn't really matter. But you know, the important thing about everything is you've got to be healthy and you've got to make sure that you have your wits about you. So having a little bit of reprieve is part of it and what you're seeing pictures of his people getting that chance to reprieve so they could be the best they could be on their job. They are all over Washington. Right now. It is a A. For those of us that work. There were very glad to see it. No question And as far as Ohio, the governor announced that Not an hour ago that the state houses closing government buildings too close Sunday, according to a one media account of the Columbus Dispatch the pro trump our march on the high statehouses planned for Sunday, so that's going to be interesting. As far as that comment that you made. I watched the other day when the FBI and the Department of Justice announced this is AH, well planned, coordinated attack. 20 minutes before Trump finished his speech. There was also a that 200.20 minutes before he finished. There were large numbers of individuals breaking over the bicycle racks and marching toward the capital, so the president may have added a little bit of fuel. In fact, your leader Kevin McCarthy, The Republican House Minority leader said yesterday that the president is responsible for what happened at the Capitol. Do you believe that? Well, I will say that he bears some responsibility or there was a lack of responsibility in his in his response, they're going back to what? I didn't want him. Peaches. I don't have all the facts. And I would like to know who the people were the people that were getting arrested and no more of the details of what they were what they were doing and how they had planned it because it seems to me That there was nothing, the president said. That meant that the people then went out and started making pipe bombs. They came with them. So it was even before the president's rhetoric or whatever he had to say during his speech, there's a former attorney general that made the case and he's done a lot with Violations during protests, and he said he didn't do anything to incite it. That remains to be seen. And I think that there was a lot of discussion to be had. But we didn't have that discussion. And that was a big part of the problem. You know the president, I think, as Trey Gowdy, I heard him say this on TV said, You know, the president kept over promising and under delivering when it came to We're going to, you know, turn this election around this and that, And so that gave a lot of people hope was that a criminal act? It was that treason. Was that something that's impeachable? I don't know. I don't think it's wise. I think it's always smart to to not do that do not over promise and under deliver, And so I think that did have a lot of influence on people's. The mindset about where this was all going to end. But I don't know that you can say that it inside. It's something because I think people personally responsible for their behavior. Look when, when, When we got shot at the baseball field, there was the potential to kill about 30, members of the House Republican Party. Tell me that wasn't attempted overthrow of a portion of the government and you know you didn't hear all this from the people. This man was inspired by Bernie Sanders. It was well thought out. It was calculated. We held him responsible for his actions, not Bernie Sanders. And you know you could make the case that Bernie Sanders inspired him and therefore it's burning Sanders fault. But to me, I'm staying consistent is the responsibility of the people that perform the exact same with rights during the summer, saying during this But I do think that what people say matters and if you're going to make that case, Democrats, then take a look at yourself. Take a look in the mirror and we can go down a long, long list. When they were advocating violence. You know, I always say to young folks, I see a lot better than I hear and that I don't pay much attention to what someone says. I pay attention to what they do. And in this case, Joe Biden and the Democrats want to turn the page have a fresh start, like Jerry Ford did After Nixon and according to media accounts, the at this point, they say one thing they do another How is it in the national interest for have a full blown impeachment trial in which due process has to take place the president or ex president, we have the right to confront his accusers that have to be hearings and judiciary committees have to be depositions taken, and then I'm told from one of the president's acolytes that he wants to testify in the Senate. Because he wanted to testify in the Senate in January, and he was for failed upon not to do it by Mitch McConnell and others Because they already we're gonna win and why mess it up by testifying, But this time he'll be out of office. He won't be the president and his legally disputed whether you can have an impeachment trial for an ex president, as opposed to a president, president. And how's it in the national interest not to take up the Biden so called agenda for the 1st 100 days and instead deal with the circus atmosphere of an ex president coming into Washington with all of his high powered attorneys and living again and again and again through what happened on last Wednesday. How is that in the national interest for Democrats, Republicans And for those who don't vote at all. And for the people. How about that? How about for the American people? There is so much that this body is responsible for on behalf of the American people. And look at what we're going to be spending time on. You know, for Ford did it with Nixon, he goes, the country needs to move forward. We can't be bogged down with this. It doesn't help us it divide this more than united. And, you know, just go back to what I said in my statement towards the end, and we're on a course with this. It's only going to cause more division and what we should be working on each and every day each and every member of Congress. And maybe for that matter each and every American keep working towards a more perfect union with peace, prosperity, liberty and justice for all. If we're doing that, and keep those tenants in mind, then we can. We can do a lot of great things in this country. This is not the way to do it. We're going to debate policy. That's normal. I would I would love for for Washington just to be a think tank and we come out with good ideas and what works best for every American. But this is the stuff that people want to be bogged down with. I don't expect Them much to really be done on behalf of the American people and a Congress that is controlled by Democrats right now that on Lee, seemingly especially in the last four years on, Lee seemingly could be out to try and be raped their colleagues try and tear them down and tear the country apart isn't last question. Is it possible that Republican congressman the day before?.

I send money to was Bob Dole because I felt bad for him when he fell off that stage. I thought he was a great man. War hero, my kind of guy. But you know he'd be considered a rhino. Now look at John McCain's reputation with the Trumpian world. What a shame that is. And by the way, the Arizona Republican Party has just voted to censure Cindy McCain for not supporting the president enough, including Ah, allegation that she's a drug user where she admitted 30 years ago. She had a problem of painkillers, so that's the Republican Party right now. Trey Gowdy was on Fox. I caught him and he said, you know, don't blame the Elected GOP senators, congressmen for what is going on in this world because as hell elaborate, you can hear it. It only runs 30 seconds. And then all of a sudden, the big brass store opened. Open from the inside. No one does a broken somebody opened that door from the inside. And then people would pretty much stampeded in. It was almost like WalMart on Black Friday morning years ago. So for all the people over there peacefully protest Ng And being maligned as traitors and insurgents that that's very hard to hear. And then when you get painted with a broad brush and blamed for things that other people did you know all throughout our coverage of the deep state and those that abused power Phil and more corrupt. How often if your regular listener reviewer of Hannity, how often that I always go out of my way to point out not the 99% that a good people, not that 99% in our intelligence community did it on purpose. Had an FBI pin on my lapel and until it ginseng pin on my lapel for reason for the good people I did because I didn't want good people tainted with a broad brush. And Yeah, there was some bad actors at the Capitol. This can happen in America. I'm shocked. A We didn't have any security ready? It Z so derelict in that duty. That's number one because people knew hundreds of thousands of people were there. You pretty much assume those agitators in any crowd and you should prepare for it. They didn't They were ill prepared. No, I mean they breached in minutes. And then the second thing is is for the 99% that came and I I tried to explain his best I could Why people like yourself with their then you get painted with a broad brush. Already standing. They told us not to come in. Not coming. Nobody. Bom brush Parrot cage. You could just walk up freely and nobody said one word, And that's exactly what happened. Everybody just walked up to the back, and I saw one moment of video that went viral on Twitter. Where literally the people that were at the gate. They just they opened it themselves to let people in. That's what I'm telling you that it was a serious of people, if you if you go back to the YouTube video of all the festivities last Wednesday morning on the mall, and there was like I told you yesterday There were I found two or three of the speakers where evangelical Uh, preachers, and they were preaching about Jesus Christ and all it was very religion. Lot about religion, and but there were also people that were angry and mad and stirring up the crowd. They were very political. And then, um Don Jr got up there gave a speech. And then Rudy Giuliani. He's being quoted. He said it about something about, um We need, uh to go. Um To trial with combat or some something about combat. And then the president spoke. So there was a lot of people, but I mean, yes, they've been told by various people. That are either the president or his associates or Linwood or Sydney Pat? Oh City, pal. She's getting sued. Yep. Did you see where Dominion Is suing Sydney pal for $1.3 billion Well, maybe she can write a check for 1.3 billion and if it doesn't clear Sheikhoun claim that Hugo Chavez was involved somehow. So, Yeah, that I mean, the Trump base was lied to about How the The process works. And I believe the Democrat bases being lied to by the fact that they think that Donald Trump's gonna be impeached out before I go too far. I'm with Trey Gowdy on this. I think Chad programs a genius. Here's what can happen and I gotta ask you Those of you that are Trump supporters. Those of you that are not Trump supporters. They couldn't and you heard what Chad program said that it could they could write an article of impeachment. Yeah, In a surly is the middle of next week. Washington moves slow, but all it takes is an article of impeachment. And then they don't even have to have hearings. They could just say. All right, let's have a vote on this article of impeachment. So I think they could Impeach him again next week and like Chad, said of one of the reasons is to put a stain on his record as the only president. It'll put him in history books. The only president to be impeached twice. But that doesn't mean again. Remember that the word impeachment is a Basically a charge. It's a prosecutor saying we are indicting you for this crime. They are indicting the president for whatever the article of impeachment, says. That doesn't mean that he's guilty. That doesn't mean that he's thrown out and I doubt seriously That they are going to be able to. They'll get it out of the house if they want to. And I also get what Chad was talking about. In fact, it's a it's going to put the Republicans in a little bit of because they're so was he But some of them won't know what all talks. What do I do? Do I vote for this? We're doing about what's gonna happen because they're so afraid of the maggot crowd. That if they vote for impeachment, they're doomed. And the next time they run, they think They're afraid of the maggot crowd. Are they vote against it? And then the other people in their district go. You was So it's a strategy to Nancy's trying trying to make a point. Embarrass the Republicans in the House. It will not get 67 senators. To convict him. I don't care how fast they move so once again, it's a total waste. Of energy and time, and I think Nancy knows that, and she's lying to her base. 855295 66 100, John Sparks, Nevada. Hello, John. Thank you, Tom. For taking my call. Appreciate it. You bet. I think we almost witnessed the very historic moment. If Donald Trump at actually locked arms with the Group that went to the capital and march down there as the figurehead and actually called for massive. You know, he's got 75 million supporters supposedly means he called for everybody to come to Washington. He could have actually, I believe advanced into the capital and just occupied the capital. Permanently, You know, I mean, everybody would have eventually just been sharing that he took over the congress. You know, in the name of the I guess, Republican party. I'm not sure what? Yeah. I mean, he got that opportunity. But then he ducked back into the White House. And basically he just sent those people to their doom. They're all gonna be arrested. John. I'm glad you said that. Did you see the video that's out? Off Trump family and the president and Don Jr and Eric Kimberly. All the group and they were. They were in kind of a tent facility right there on the lips. And they were in there watching the video of the crowd marching up to the Capitol in and occupying the capital in their in their dancing and smiling And I thought that I thought, Oh, my God. They used to miss ponds. They're using these people. Yeah, agitation. It was done on the college campuses. You probably had to go against the writers, but they had a lot of agitators. Come on the college campus like Donald Trump still up the students and they go take over the student union building. That's what it looked like. The guy's got his Feet up on Nancy Pelosi's desk, and, you know, that was typical. This smoking a cigar. You know, some senior at the colleges right? They occupied the chancellor's office. I talked a little bit about it talked about it yesterday because I was on a college campus and I saw the agitators and I saw how it only took ah handful of them to get a crowd really into a frenzy. I saw it, Um, Mass Psychology is a lead somewhere. Well, it's a funny thing how people reacted in crowds so If he had done over this is this is the other problem I have. I understand. People are not constitutional scholars, but they say they're quick to say I'm for the Constitution. Well, then at least peruse it and find out that the Congress has no way to change. The vote. I mean, if if the vice president of the United States could change the vote of all the states Then why not just have the vice president pick the next president? And I mean, Joe Biden said. Donald Trump is the duly elected president and Mike Pence said Joe Biden is the duly elected president. And four years from now, Um Kamila Harris is going to say who is the duly elected? She can't pick the president. Pence can't pick the president. And so I don't know how it got into people's heads, that this was going to be something that would actually happen. I'm fascinated by all right. I get it. Donald Trump is really not a dictator material.
"trey gowdy" Discussed on KSFO-AM
"Was supposed to be for lack of a better term routine, A time honored ritual of Congress certifying the electoral college result from the 2020 election. Was brought to a halt by protesters who storms past Capitol security to occupy the halls of government. President elect Joe Biden called what he and Americans watched on Capitol Hill, a saddening scene and an assault on democracy, threatening the safety of duly elected officials. It's not protest. It's insurrection. World's watching President Trump took to Twitter posting a video calling for calm. We have to have peace way have to have law and order. We have to respect our great People in law and order. We don't want anybody hurt. But the president maintained his claim of an election that he says was stolen from him. It was all part of a scene that those who have legislated from the U. S Capitol found disheartening. I am a law and order person. Trey Gowdy is a former member of the U. S. House of Representatives from South Carolina and host of the Trey Gowdy podcast. We spoke to him Wednesday evening, and when I see Um this kind of lawlessness and putting Capitol Hill police officers at risk and putting staff I've been quite honestly, I think for most members of the House and Senate They are, and I know this sounds unusual to your to your listener, but the ones I've talked to, uh, that exact same reaction that exact reaction I would have predicted, which is Concerned for their staff. You're talking about 20 something year old people that you're welcome to think that it's naive that you want to engage in public service. I mean, look, if you want to be cynical and think that's naive, but I can tell you the young women and men there on Capitol Hill. Um, sometimes living three and four to an apartment. They believe in this thing called America..
The Impeachment Inquiry This Week in 2 Major Developments
"Good evening the house impeachment inquiry that has gripped Washington was jolted this week by two major developments essentially to do cross currents that could affect the debate for weeks to come first America's top diplomat in Ukraine ambassador William Taylor gave damaging testimony behind closed doors testifying at the White House did threaten to withdraw military aid and less Ukraine announced probes that would politically benefit president trump the testimony by Taylor an army veteran and respected diplomat undermine president trump's insistence that there was no quid pro quo then late Thursday came reports that Attorney General William Barr has opened a criminal investigation of the F. B. I.'s conduct during the twenty sixteen campaign even as the DOJ inspector general is wrapping up his own investigation of related issues those proceedings have been cheered by the president and by Republicans who see them as a counterweight to the house impeachment probe house democratic chairman Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler released a statement in response quote if the department of justice may be used as a tool for political retribution or help the president with a political narrative for the next election the rule of law will suffer new an air repairable damage joining me tonight card the margin compression on national security reporter for The Washington Post Catherine Lucey White House reporter for the Wall Street journal I'm none of us national correspondent for the PBS newshour in Jonathan swan national political reporter for axioms corn you've been following this impeachment inquiry all week at the capitol but for the DOJ to now be opening a criminal investigation what's the significance of that development I need all the other impeachment news for the timing has to be pleasing the president because it presents a counter narrative for what's been going on you have he he's been investigation which we know right now looking at that the Ukraine connections and you have the investigation into the origins of the Russia probe which Russia Ukraine are not that separable let's say that given the president something to focus on something that he can now double down on as the focus is heating up on impeachment look that Durham has been a criminal prosecutor who's been in in charge of this investigation for a while in a way he is always had because of the role he plays the ability of the panel grand jury or to you you know issue indictments against individuals we don't know that he's actually taken those steps yet so the actual significance of what this means does this actually end up pulling in career investigators from the FBI or elsewhere for some sort of felt form of malfeasance or does this just end up being you know a political give to the president at a time at which he's feeling like people aren't really behind him and he wants his troops to rally around him what's the significance of the Attorney General being involved in this kind of investigation doesn't raise questions about the independence of the DOJ I think president trump has always been pretty clear about the role that he thinks the traditionally independent department of justice should play which is that he should be able to direct the work that they're doing and by extension the work that the Attorney General is doing we know Attorney General Barr is involved in this investigation that's being led by John Durham is the US attorney in Connecticut and so they're obvious questions there about what exactly was the motivation for opening this investigation in the first place but bar message of this very very early on right he said before Congress I do believe spying occurred on the trump campaign I would be willing to explore the origins of the Russian investigation and he's also been part of some of the efforts to protect the president politically is pushed back on the subpoena efforts to try to get at the president's tax returns as well so this fits perfectly in line with that raising it to a criminal probe now ups the ante right it kind of turbochargers and it kicks it up a notch I don't have any other medical as Kerr mentioned gives them all of those powers now we don't know what evidence led to that you can't just in the department of justice they were suddenly going to make this a criminal investigation some piece of evidence had to lead to that we don't know what that we usually don't understand Jonathan there's the DOJ probe led by the Attorney General investigating the origins of the Russia pro and then you have the inspector general also within DOJ doing his own report how did they align if at all we don't know we don't know what the IG reports going to say we don't know when it's going to come out and I think we should be very cautious about saying that this is counter programming in terms of when when learning about this criminal investigation of being elevated a grotesque issue number one we don't know when they made that decision when he said okay it's pasta threshold way I believe is that their crimes could have been committed dharma is a serious prosecutor sincerest guy with a serious reputation he's not seen as a partisan hack he has a storied career now in terms of the white it kind of program will would mean the Adam called in okay better than New York times we used in this sort of way and I bet two of the best justice department reporters so I think it's quite possible this could have been opened we don't know when it was opened could be up and you know weeks ago and it could be as simple as a leak investigation we know there was so much classified information leaked in the early if the Russia investigation Sir this is all just to say there's so much we don't know and people are going to spend this in the ways that they want to do you know they can be hysterical about it but I think that it could it could be as simple as by doing what trump wants to do and and our own following the facts and keeping the family up in mind Catherine let's take a stroll down from the DOJ on Pennsylvania Avenue to the capital and you had ambassador Taylor behind closed doors give this damaging testimony about a quid pro quo arrangement inside the trump administration how is the White House reacting is this something that they see as a major turning point well this is a significant moment in in this process this is the most detailed some of the detail of bay has money we've seen so far was a fifteen page opening statement really laying out the cinematic terms it was give me I think that the loss was beautifully written the the way that the Taylors and takes us into taking the job it reminded me of movies where someone is brought into a different world like saying like Goodfellas or I recently saw hustlers forgive someone to take it into a totally different world and they sent me Sir to realize what's going on and we're trying to figure it out and he comes to realize there's two different farm policies going on and and and then of this beat into his explanation of what he understands to be happening with the president's engagement on Ukraine the White House is continuing with a messaging that is a lot focus on process they are attacking of the the process on the hill they are and they are also trying to discredit all the witnesses so you heard the present today criticizing Taylor you know and we'll see if that sticks this is a decades long your career diplomats in came forward and who is hired by this by this administration and you're standing outside notebook in hand of the skiff the secure area inside of the house well all these people testified but a **** Taylor in particular we heard there is a reporter take me inside the room what were you hearing from members about how it went and why it matters and investors tellers testimony has had the most impact of any of the people have come and thus far in this impeachment pro and it's because of the details of his testimony it's also because he names names and connects dots in other ways that people have not he even when he was in the room he was in touch with the people who were in the room and he lays out a narrative exactly how the Giuliani campaign led to strategist at the group on the crane policy start to diverge from the more traditional roots how when you had the secretaries of state and defense and CIA and the national security adviser all saying week we should be sending that aid there you then had the Maldini camping like maybe not and he actually has a timeline also of when the freeze on the funding came when to him it seemed like there was a quid pro quo going on here when he was told specifically by people in the administration that yes the money is being leveraged in order to secure a promise from Ukrainian president to conduct investigations into the energy company that Joe Biden's son was on the board of and this twenty sixteen to hack this conspiracy theory around the DNC server that was hacked in twenty sixteen the theory says that it's somehow ended up in Ukraine and if it were found it would prove the Ukraine interfere in the twenty sixteen election is not Russia that's been widely debunked already the fact that there was so powerful though his is is I think the reason why you saw at a direction of political action the next day let's talk about that right that political Russian because you you're there covering it and you see the testimony itself it is a game changer for the house Democrats as they build their case against the president but his current setting house Republicans decided to take matters into their own hands trump loyalists forced their way into a secure in a room view room on Capitol Hill blocking witness testimony for hours we're going to go in there today and demand we get our rights remembers of Congress what what what what was it like when they actually stop the testimony from happening well I mean a delay the testimony for about five and a half five five and half hours from starting that was the day that Deputy Assistant secretary of defense lawyer Cooper who eventually talked about kind of the nuts and bolts of how the Ukraine military aid works on there are a lot of interesting parts of this it was certainly a display that we we we watched as as they stormed into that room there's nothing that actually prevents those lawmakers from walking into the skiff this gift is not like a locked box members of Congress have enough security clearance to go in also about a dozen of the people who were storming into that skip already had the right to be there because they are members of these three panels and just finally I should make the point that you know a lot of the argument that that has been about processes captain was referring to the Republicans are a part of this process they have the right to ask questions in these interviews they are getting equal time they don't like the fact that this is happening but they're not being iced out the way that claimed that they were it's also worth pointing out that entire spectacle took place the day after president trump is calling on Republicans to take off the gloves and show up and fight for him he wants to know that members of his own party are actually showing up in on his side of this fight and this was one the one way they could display that it's also worth pointing out the obvious hypocrisy because a few years ago when Republican Trey Gowdy was leading closed door investigative sessions into the U. S. attack that the attacks on U. S. facilities in Benghazi he argued they should be closed door for a reason those reasons are that if there's national security interest I play and also it gives witnesses a chance to be open and honest about their testimony was pause for a second talk about the house Republicans and Republicans in general making process the issue Jonathan is that because they don't feel like they're able to engage on the substance of the testimony they rather make it about the process there are some house Republicans I think of a small group that would be quite happy to fight on the substance but a small group and where there is no that that types to fight on the substances in the Senate noun so the backstory to this resolution that Lindsey Graham you know I'm sold you say that was actually very tame it was really just what was it was a process occupant it was a very soberly rescind tame argument against the process no substantive defense of Donald Trump the backstories that was Lindsey Graham wanted to write a letter to pelo see that was actually fairly bombastic and yet this is a sham at citrus address he pitched the lead out to the Republicans that they launched last week and the response was not good and the reason I did want to do it even people who support trump two reasons number one you write a letter like that anyone who doesn't sign on you've created an enemies list for trump's immediately number two you don't get many signatures it's very embarrassing he looks weak so what ends up happening Instagram shifts to a resolution he writes this resolution it's still a little too hot Mitch McConnell cools it down and you get this very milquetoast document that everyone can agree on but it's a very clear sign of what's going on in the Senate why this matters is Republican senators to not want to defend Donald Trump on the substance and the most they're willing to go is this sort of finicky process argument to say that you know they should change the way
