"Does <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> <SpeakerChange> Marquise Brown rank? <Speech_Music_Male> He's below <Speech_Music_Male> 20. Don't you think? <Speech_Music_Male> Good <Speech_Music_Male> question. <Speech_Music_Male> I mean, you'd put a <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> Seattle number 32 <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> on this list, you'd put their <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> number one wide receiver <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> above Marquis <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> Brown. Yep. <Speech_Music_Male> But if we <Speech_Music_Male> flip quarterbacks, <Speech_Music_Male> Seattle would be a lot higher <Speech_Music_Male> on this list. <Speech_Music_Male> Number 13. <Speech_Music_Male> Number 18, <Speech_Music_Male> the Pittsburgh <Speech_Music_Male> Steelers. <Speech_Music_Male> Really <Speech_Male> simple when I look at <Speech_Male> this team, rich, it's all about <Speech_Male> the quarterbacks. <Speech_Male> How long will Mitch <Speech_Male> trubisky fend off? <Speech_Male> The inevitability <Speech_Male> of <SpeakerChange> Kenny Pickett. <Speech_Male> All right, that's a good <Speech_Male> question right there for the Pittsburgh <Speech_Male> Steelers. What <Speech_Male> are they going to do with their quarterback <Speech_Male> spot? <Speech_Male> I think it will definitely <Speech_Male> be trubisky. <Speech_Male> I know that <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> Mike Tomlin <Speech_Male> is <Speech_Male> being coy and making his <Speech_Male> announcement. I think <Speech_Male> it's going to be Kenny Pickett <Speech_Male> at some point. <Speech_Male> And, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> you know, <Speech_Male> the first game <Speech_Male> is in Cincinnati. <Speech_Male> You're not starting <Speech_Male> a rookie there. <Speech_Male> Next game against New England, <Speech_Male> you're not starting a rookie <Speech_Male> there either because that's <Speech_Male> how Belichick <Speech_Male> just eats <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> quarterbacks for <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> sport. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> That is the burning <Speech_Male> question is <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> or I guess writ <Speech_Male> large is willed <Speech_Male> Mike Tomlin <Speech_Male> have <Speech_Male> a losing season for the <Speech_Male> first time. <Speech_Music_Male> A lot of that. <Speech_Male> I think they're going to be better than <Speech_Male> people think and I think <Speech_Male> will be better than <Speech_Male> people think. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I think they will have a winning <Speech_Male> season. And I think they're better <Speech_Male> than 18 on your list, <Speech_Male> Chris. <Speech_Male> Are you getting the playoffs then? <Speech_Male> I don't know, I don't <Speech_Male> think so. No, I'm <Speech_Male> taking them out of the playoffs. <Speech_Male> I think they do miss <Speech_Male> it, but I don't think they have <Speech_Male> a losing record. Who's <Speech_Male> next Christmas? Number 17, <Speech_Male> I had a tough time coming <Speech_Male> up with one for this team. <Speech_Male> It just goes to how <Speech_Male> little we're talking about <Speech_Male> them at all. It's the Tennessee <Speech_Male> Titans. <Speech_Male> And when I think about what <Speech_Male> they lost in the off season, <Speech_Male> they lost AJ Brown. <Speech_Male> So who will be <Speech_Male> this team's playmaker <Speech_Male> outside of <Speech_Male> Derrick Henry? Trailer <Speech_Male> Burke's. I answered <Speech_Music_Male> it for you. <Speech_Music_Male> Really? Yes, I <Speech_Music_Male> think that he hasn't <Speech_Music_Male> shown much. I <Speech_Male> know that. I know that. <Speech_Male> I think Trey Burke's <Speech_Male> will be that playmaker <Speech_Male> outside of <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> Derek Henry. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> Interesting. He's got <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> the comp of AJ Brown. <Speech_Male> I think he's going to be <Speech_Music_Male> damn good, man. <Speech_Music_Male> I <Speech_Male> like him. The burning question <Speech_Male> for me for the Tennessee <Speech_Male> Titans is, <Speech_Male> you <Speech_Music_Male> know, <Speech_Music_Male> is this the end of tanu? <Speech_Music_Male> Is this the end of his <Speech_Music_Male> run? And does <Speech_Male> Malik Willis get some run <Speech_Male> in there if Tannehill <Speech_Male> struggles again? I don't <Speech_Male> know. That's going to be an interesting <Speech_Male> Mike verbal <Speech_Music_Male> conundrum <Speech_Music_Male> all year <SpeakerChange> long. <Speech_Male> All right, last one. And <Speech_Male> I'm putting this team <Speech_Male> here just because there's <Speech_Male> a lot of question marks heading <Speech_Male> into the season. I do <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> think <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> they might <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> be higher, <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> you know, once we get the season <Speech_Male> working along it's the <Speech_Music_Male> Miami Dolphins. <Speech_Music_Male> And <Speech_Male> question for them is, <Speech_Male> well, tua <Speech_Male> B as good as tyreek <Speech_Male> hill is saying. <Speech_Male> Bingo. <Speech_Music_Male> Spot on. Because <Speech_Male> tyreek hill is really <Speech_Male> saying that he's amazing, <Speech_Male> and we really haven't <Speech_Male> seen that yet, so <Speech_Male> as we head into <Speech_Male> the season, <SpeakerChange> this is the <Speech_Male> big question. That is <Speech_Male> it for the Miami Dolphins. <Speech_Male> Well, two would be as <Speech_Male> good as tyreek hill is <Speech_Male> saying he is. <Speech_Music_Male> And of <Speech_Music_Male> course, his Mike mcdaniel <Speech_Male> going to be able to <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> be the game manager <Speech_Male> as well as <Speech_Male> we think we know he's <Speech_Male> a good game plan <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> manager. "We'll see. There seems to be some mixed reporting, whether he'll be over or not. But I thought Cleveland did a good job of hitting some draft and stash some stuff. And I think about you is going to help them. The wing is the spa where they're lacking. And I think he's just kind of consistent and good. And how much upside there is left because he's already 22. But I just think he's a solid player. I think the biggest question mark for the Cavs coming out of this is what do you call the mobley's together? Like for example, we call curtain Linda rambus, the rambi and lane Laker land. Is it the bro please? Oh, I like that more. I like Bros, yeah. That works for me. Okay. All right. All right, moving on. That's my analysis of that thing. Well done. Thanks, Trevor. Trevor, everybody. I'll tell you right now. We're punchy. If you haven't. All right, the Dallas Mavericks Dallas didn't end up having any picks in the first round because they traded that pick in the Christian wood deal. That picked just a close the door and it ended up being one to more junior. The pick was traded Houston, then it was traded to Minnesota flipped. We'll get to it. We get to Houston in Minnesota. There, but then they did get themselves into the second round. And with a, I believe it was two future second round picks. They hopped in and they were the ones who picked up Jaden hardy out of the G league. And I like that for Dallas. I think that's a really nice upside. Swing for them early in the second round. Yeah. Agreed. That was the guy we thought that was going to be the Lakers pick because the clutch sports connection. But I think it's a good upside play for them. And in the second round, if you see a guy that you think has more value than is following, then absolutely if it costs you two future seconds to get it. Second round is kind of a crapshoot anyway. So if there's a guy there that you think can be a hit, it's worth two seconds to go, get them, and then bring them into your program and see what you got. Yeah, I talked to three different people that I talk to, where their teams had first earned grades on him. So I'm not super high, but they had first round grades in the 20s on him. And if you're getting him at 37, you've done one. Value for your school. So in there and obviously the Christian wood trade, we're not overlooking that, but we already broke all that down. You can find that. About a week ago, when that trade was made, but just the details on it. It's Christian wood, two Dallas, for Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, marquise Chris boba, Mariano, and then it was the 26th pick in the draft. Close the books on that one..

"Matthew penny, we have breaking news. We have an in draft trade. Wait, what? No, I know. Christian wood is going to the Dallas Mavericks. Wait, this is actually happened. I was just like, oh, no, this is actually happening. Yeah, this is not like a nasty, okay. I was like, I don't like this. I can't keep up. All right, so that's a positive pick. I feel great about that pick now. Awesome. Who do they get back? Don't tell me they got to pick and I have to scramble here. So according to Sean sharan, my colleague, over at the athletic, the Mavericks are sending bob and Mariano, which Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, marquise Chris and the number 26 pick to the rockets for Christian wood. 26 becomes. It's essentially 26 in salary ballast for Christian wood. Okay. I'm updating the 26 pick here. That's cool. All right, that's fun. I feel even better about Paulo. Just in the front court you needed more freedom to kind of explore that, they drafted usman garuba and Shen gun a year ago that clears out just more space, more minutes, more development and shows me that they're committed to this whole process too. It's not like we have to win right here right now. If you're trying to win right here right now, you probably hold on to Christian wood and run that as far as it can. Yeah, I love this for Houston. I think it's really smart. You get a number for you to first round pick for Christian wood. I think you've done well. Biggs on the market are difficult to move. And look, long time listeners of this show know that I am not in enormous Christian wood fan. I don't like guys who are non entities on defense. And he just does not give consistent effort on that end. Maybe putting him in a winning situation will actualize him in a real way that allows him to take advantage of some of the tools he has, like he is not a guy that is tool less defensively..

"Lack of explosion, the difference, though, is that I think he's a bit stiff defensively where his hips can just freeze on him at any given moment. And that kind of worries me. I don't know what you think of his defense and some of his other weaknesses, but we'll have to hear your thoughts on that. Yeah, I think there are players that can expose him a little bit defensively because you mentioned he gets upright and stiff. That said he rated as a very good isolation defender. I think a lot of his isolation issues defensively came on switching onto small guards. I don't think he's necessarily a guy, which is one through 5. That's everyone's appeal, but very few people actually do that. But I think he Garth took through four fairly well. He's very strong. I think he's as stronger player than Kyle Anderson is. Or especially at that same stage when Kyle Anderson was coming out of UCLA. I think Harrison Ingram in 1819 years old was far far more physical. And the other thing I'll say is he's active and he's aware defensively. He's rotates very well is off ball defense is really good. And Stanford's defense is a pack line, meaning that he doesn't get a lot of steel. So if you're worried about like, oh, he's 6, 8, he doesn't have a ton of steals. That's something I don't think you should be too worried about because he's always in the right spots. And even then he gets his hand on a lot of basketballs. And then one thing I want to add about offense where we're talking about cons. I think sometimes he's so determined to get his way to the perfect spot. He passes up on shots that I think will be more evident and frequently available for him at the NBA level, whereas in the college he was the best individual creator on Stanford. And so I think one of the cons is a pro for his pro game is that he won't have to do that. And so a lot of the shots will be cutting or spot ups as opposed to pump fake, one dribble, get to the mid post and shoot tougher shots, which really hurt his percentages. And I think the fact that he was able and forced to do that will actually help him in the long run and it will be it'll be a con in terms of his percentages and the scattering report. But I think it'll be a pro in the long run for his pro career. Yeah, and something to think about when scouting players like these guys who are first options in college, but absolutely have no business being a first option in the MBA is you have to look at what they're actually going to do. I mean, the post office, let's be real. The post-ops are going to be so minimal. And that was like his fourth highest play run in college or 5th high, it's something like that. That is no weird near what will actually be the truth in the NBA for him. If he's posting up, it's because he's got someone tiny on him. That is the only reason Mike, if he's got a Trey Burke on him or something, yeah, go ahead and post them up. But other than that, it's not going to happen, and that's not something that happens probably 25 times in an MBA season for a role player like Harrison Ingram. I like how and one other thing actually and I like how you brought up the off ball defense and the motor pretty much. I think that's important to note. The only other con I would bring up is just the shot. It's slow. It's a set shot. That's kind of a weakness for me. I'm iffy about those kind of guys, but ultimately I do think that he can improve in the touches there. I think he has good follow through and everything, but let's do kind of we do this on every time I do a scouting report. Expected role worst case best case, and then if you want throw comparison in there and where you think you'll get drafted, for me, I think the comparison I already touched on Kyle Anderson, I think it's the perfect comparison. But let's talk about the best case worst case and expected role. I'm interested to hear your thoughts. Is that you get a 5th starter? A 5th starter who can fill in and be a 12 points a game, 6 rebounds, and by a midway through his career. And he plays solid defense and he's a very good team player. And I think the most likely cases he's like a 6 or 7th man who plays good defense and he plays similarly on a better team. And so if he's on a good team, I think you can move him lower his minutes, but his effectiveness will rise. And I think worst case is that is shooting doesn't improve. And now he's just a solid athlete but not an explosive one and someone that plays tenth man on a solid team. And he could always contribute a bad team. But I see his game style contributing more and helping more on a good team than one that is striving to rebuild. And then a comparison, you mentioned Kyle Anderson, I think that's a really good one. I kind of see, and this one, this one's a little out there. I kind of see a worse shooting Sadiq bay, also just the way that they're built neither explodes out of the gym. But they're very solid they have good footwork. They jump stop, they defend, especially they smartly defend. They're not going to overwhelm you physically. The difference is Sadiq bay can shoot the lights out. And I think Harrison Ingram is never going to get to that level of shooting, but I think he's a slightly better athlete version of how I understand and not as good a shooter as a big face. So those are kind of my two. Yeah, I like that. I like that. And I would touch on the worst case best case. I think I agree with the best case. The worst case, I actually think he's out of the league if he can't shoot. That's our major break thing. I think it's very want, but I think if he's not shooting the ball, even if that 31% number is it, I'm going to have a hard time. I don't know if he's going to be a good enough to defend her and pass her combo to make up for it and actually earn consistent minutes. I think that Trump shots a massive swing skill. Where do you think he gets drafted? Last 5 picks of the first draft and then maybe that's probably where I would say is the most likely and I could see him go on to kind of in that 25 to 35 range is kind of where my thought process is. I would pick him around there and I could see a team getting happy with, oh wow, we got a 6 8 freshman that was forced to play on ball and now we'll have him play off ball that could see a team falling in love with him taking you before then and I can see people being worried by his shot and taking him below 35, but I think 25 to 35 is kind of the range where he'll likely hear his name called. Yeah, I think his best case is like 29 through 30 is pick. And then could fall down in the 40s. I really do wonder how the stats just don't favor him and the stats plus I test like with the athleticism in terms of that. Definitely doesn't do him any favors. So I can see him kind of falling in that regard, but that was our Harrison Ingram scouting report out of Stanford. On the other side, we're going to talk about JD Davison from Alabama, the explosive guard in what we like and don't like kind of do the same thing with JD Davison. But first, let me tell you about shady rates. Shady raises an independent sunglasses company that gives you the features of.

"I absolutely think they had a shot, maybe they still do have a shot, but at the very least, last year, with what happened to the warriors, which what happened to the Lakers, they absolutely had a shot, the fact that they collapsed against the clippers is bad. It's a black mark. It does not reverse engineer poor management into their decision to go all in on the timeline. And now we can get in to some management moves that didn't work out going all the way back to X women Trey Burke to as abuke instead of Desmond Bain and the draft in 2020 and all that. But I don't think if they fail in these playoffs and they end up pivoting to a new era of the organization, I don't think it would be fair to look back and say they miscalculated putting a lot of eggs in this basket at this time because I don't think they did and I think they very well could have won the championship last year. I agree with that and when you have a chance to win, especially when you're a small market franchise, you have to try to seize that opportunity and look, you can talk about, oh, Donna from Mitchell's timeline, the idea that Donovan Mitchell is going to spin his entire career in Utah is absolutely ridiculous. And that's let's just be straight up. That's one of the things that's staring them in the face this summer. That's also one of the things that has been looming over this franchise all season long. So, you know, they had a chance to win, they pounced on that opportunity. Doesn't look like it's going to work out, but hey, they had some really good teams. And you know, I think the question, you know, obviously they're going to try to win the playoffs, blah, blah, blah. If this plays out the way we think it plays out, it's just how drastic are the changes this summer. How much does Jonathan Mitchell's desires, factor into those changes? And I'll just be real blunt. If Donovan Mitchell asks out, do they shift into do they blow this thing up and hit reset? That's what's looking at them this summer. If this thing plays out the way we think it is. Well, if you look at the road map of the NBA, there's a lot of teams that hit that reset button in the last couple of years, like pounding the reset button. Take the cartridge out below on it, try to reset it again. Some of those teams, Oklahoma City at some point is going to get players. Yeah. Okay, they have to try to start winning. By the way, Oklahoma City, the owners of a jazz, I believe, 2024 protected pick. Orlando, at some point is going to, I guess, win more games, like Jonathan Isaac exists somewhere and will play eventually. Well, as long as they keep playing admiral schofield in the fourth quarter, I don't think it's going to be this year. Detroit, cade Cunningham's legit, that team is going to make noise next year. I don't know how much noise, but they're not going to be this bad next year. They're going to be a real opponent next year, Houston is sneaky interesting. There'll be a window for Portland, we'll see what happens with dame and stuff. There will be a window in the next two years for some team. We don't expect to go to the bottom and find the bottom kind of emptied out and be like, oh, look at us. We're here at the bottom. Yeah. Now, look, going backwards, it is interesting to go backwards though. The jazz one way to look at life in Utah in the last 5 or 6 years, the jazz traded 6 first round picks plus Crowder plus Grayson Allen combined for Ricky Rubio, George Hill, Trey Burke, and Mike Conley, like the search for a point guard, cost them a lot. Now you could say it's really 5 first round picks who's they traded two for one to move up to get Trey Burke find let's say 5. That's a lot. It was a lot of searching, Trey Burke, when it was Dennis Lindsay's first draft and he loved Giannis, but he just didn't have the medicals. He just wasn't confident enough to try to convince the Miller family the ownership group at the time. Interestingly enough, they traded 14 and 21 to move up to 8 or 9 rather to get Trey Burke, Yanis was 15. As you know. But look, my Conley hasn't been lights out this year, still shooting it really well is coming on lately. Like Conley's had a little bit of revival lately, made an all star team for them. Like he's been outstanding. It's hard to argue with the end result that chase along the way cost them a lot trying to fill that trying to fill that void. But my Connolly made an all star team period and again, they had a shot last year. I'll just never, I just didn't get it. Nobody got it, then I don't get it. And Desmond Mann is giving every other team in the league nightmares watching him play, but boy, if you thought it was pain, that would look a lot better. Yeah, that's a tough one. That's a tough one. I would say overall that front office has done a great job taking a rebuild and project and building into a quasi contender. That's my point. But boy, it's the finishing touches are really tough and.

"Clippers are almost assuredly going to be much better. Minnesota looks like they're not going away. The pelicans are playing pretty well, and they're probably going to get Zion back. And then have a full year CJ McCollum. I know it probably seems like it's, you know, might as well be talking about flying to the moon here, but I believe the Lakers will be far better next season than they are this season. And then Portland's talking about, hey, we're going to flip this thing real quick. I mean, you start looking at the teams behind you. Never mind the teams ahead of you. It immediately tied with you. And all of a sudden, it's like, man, we got to figure this out. We might be looking at a string of 44 win seasons coming up here where we're fighting to stay out of the plane. Tournament. And that's something they got to look at. By the way, you went Dallas at the four seat and not Denver. But I'm sorry, yeah, sure, correct, Dallas. But yeah, we'll see. We'll see what winds up happening here with the Utah Jazz and soft season. They could be a busy off season for them, particularly with Danny ainge involved now. So we'll see. Yeah, well, that's the other thing. I'm glad you called that out because hill poetry. I mean, I know it's very close. Yes. But yeah, but I think Danny ainge likes nothing more than a tear down in a restart. Yeah, I think he relishes that opportunity. I think he would love to do that and not often comes with. I'm gonna hire my own coach and I'm gonna pick a coach to my guy to lead that. So yeah, very, very interested to see what happens. And I mean, hey, I'm not going to rule it out. Maybe they go on a little run here in the playoffs. And this all becomes a moving point later, but right now it doesn't look like it. Brandon knight gets a ten date with the Mavs on a hardship deal. Trey Burke and health and safety protocols, which is what opened that up. We do need to get to the next though, Julius Randle. Nearly acting like he might want to be out in New York, might want to trade. What are your thoughts on that? The Knicks potentially moving on from Randall this off season, does it feel like, I mean, he didn't have as good of a season obviously this season as last season, but it felt like he also got a lot of the blame to for what happened with the Knicks this season. So do they move on from Randall this summer?.

OK, so that was good bam! Out of bio. I like Bam! Out of bio Jeremy Grant and Bam! Out of bio are too bouncy dude. Yep. Who have energy who I think could I don't know something. I don't hate these choices in a vacuum. But Bam is your center. Am I right? It might be tough again. How does Bam matchup against Yokich? Cause you're gonna face him. How does Bam out of bio matchup against poor Zynga's? You're going to face him. You know what I mean? How does he going to match up against those dudes? My question is Where's Trey Burke's offer. How come that dude didn't get an offer? If we're just throwing offers out again? Lopez twins available ready to go?.

And how the game works is my current employer's paying me two or three million dollars and the boston celtics wanna pay me eight million dollars. I'm interested you know my loyalty to my school is affected at that list. And he's already in my opinion put himself in position to get crispier money. How much does crispy. oh there. It is five million a year. that's two times more than jacoby. that's also digit. Kobe makes which which one makes right. And what he's done to the program with the number one recruiting class. I know he's committed to be in ann arbor but i can't wait to see how they perform next year and i believe everything he said at his initial press conference look that he wants to have a team that's disciplined gives back to the community and win the national championship and makes the alums and the student body proud and look at recruiting class. Do you know before john got there. The last mcdonald's all american do you know the last time. Biscuit had a mcdonald's all american chopper. John who did a great job for the program. Yeah number number three on the fraud. Power rankings and. This is why i wanted cut off the game. Seven talk a little bit because now renewing into it my number three fraud. Power rankings is entire dallas mavericks organization. Wow all of them. All voted tiger. Buddy. the starts at the top starts mark. Cuban the starts a as you reminded me yesterday. The mark cuban before the bubble when it got to the bubble last year city with divorces wife over giving up luca and he has to pick That was asked him it. What would it take to get rid of like you know he was like how. How much would you how much you give up for. Lewis still feels like a fake quote. It doesn't matter if it is or not because the cinnamon is there. Mark cuban's like even if i didn't say that i thought it you know what he thought he'd get it. Get it it you the the mavericks have not one i. I was not aware of this. Until i had this thrown in my face every everywhere i turn yesterday if they lose game seven. The dallas mavericks have not won a playoff series since they won the title. Two thousand eleven ten years. they have gone The playoffs six times their own. Six in the first round. I we talk about the mavericks as though they are one of the better organizations in sports or the better organizations in the nba. Because i think mark cuban's a fun owner disease. A guy that that is a celebrity sharking has shark tank and he is not afraid to speak his mind. He is kind of a little benevolent where he'll like every so often like help. Kit like a kid. call mark. Cuban be like how do i make billions of dollars mark and it's like try really hard or don't try really hard whatever or some combination of the to be the best version of you. Yes yes So he's he's a i if i understand a lot of people don't like mark you but if you're talking about billionaire owners of sports teams. He certainly on the more like he's in the affable. Yes yes he's he's he's more likable Brick carlisle is considered one of the best coaches. And i'm not saying he's not but there's this a lot of there's a lot around dallas you think the yard is through the roof and then when you stop and you think about the fact that they have not won a playoff series not a single playoff not series game. We're talking about a playoff series since two thousand eleven the yankees have a world series since. Oh nine like i mean. It's over one hundred years except playoff series so i have to put them on the fraud. Power rick a number three three. Oh what do you think if you are a dallas mass. Do you think you're at the point where you're upset. That's the real thing. Because they won in twenty eleven which i got them cachet for about five years really where you just. Don't say anything you let dirk. His final contracts get paid. You're okay with it then. You get luca. Which is i mean that is basically winning a championship. Based on mark cuban's reaction to it so they have been able to celebrate these moments that got the farewell tour dirk. You know the didn't get luca. Come so they. They've been able to kind of stopgap every single moment. So it doesn't feel like it's that long era ended and then we started the lou. Gehrig's so it's it's not that far removed. Rolling jerk came back is coming back now. He's at the game. That's helpful in reminding that we j. beaches and i think demand won championship because we went to the finals. We went to lebron james. Potter's that if you go to the finals as the That's what we all learned in two thousand eighteen. It doesn't matter if you win. It's about getting there so the mass fans in general. I think that they're happy at their content. But i think you're right we start you know around you start throwing her. That's all we gotta start thorough and they make the like. I think part of the reason. I was pissed off that the mavs lost the beyond like wanting to hate to clippers that i liked the mavericks team last year. So much more where they just went full-fledged on the go all in on the offense trey burke was getting minutes in the playoffs last year and he was he was. He was amazing. Steph curry was awesome. Josh richard said to help the defense because they couldn't guard anybody last year and they said well what we make this trade. We'll have josh richardson. He's he's a defensive guy whole solve all our problems. I think their defense was worse. Yes sir yes which is. It's it it tells me you have no lack of identity if this was college basketball and your identity discourses on a points and you would have just gone more in that direction and not trading for you. Would've you would've figured out a way to get more shooters around. Luca more more your. They didn't do that they they say. Let's be a better basketball to even and that's our problem is respond l. Set career for josh. Richardson that'll solve everything. You still lose in the first round of the exact same team you lost in the first round last year. It's to throw around the f. Word that's all i'm saying. Yeah and that's the day when you have kristaps porzingis after. The fact said that he wanted to be a co star instead of basically you know this thrown away character in the world. the dow's mavs. That's also not bad. Because i think at the end of the day you can spin this as he was the problem. So i i think about. Pr gonna win the pr again. This isn't an offseason where people say. Well the front office is to blame. Because they made trade for josh richardson. You know what i mean. Yeah they're going to say hey. They're there because they traded for chris porzingis but also they're not because it was. It was a smart trae because they gave up. What a first. Round pick. Dennis smith junior so it wasn't like they gave up that much so they win the pr of the whole thing. That's what i'm saying that there's never a moment where you can look at the mavs and and start throwing crap out right. Say this is a problem..

No. Well talked with NPR's Anna Jaffe, who's been looking into this Why were these laws passed in the first place? You remember that the Corona virus outbreak started as far as most people were aware in a nursing home, and currently long term care facilities account for more than a third of all deaths from Copan 19. Nursing homes for caught scrambling for personal protective equipment. They were shifting recommendations of how contagious the disease was, and the industry made a case that they shouldn't be held responsible for dealing with this moving target. Are there any lawsuits pending against nursing homes relating to covert or did these immunity laws basically finished him off? Well, there is one in Durham, North Carolina. It's question whether it's related to cope. But possibly it's the first of its kind in involves the death of a woman named Palestine House. Her daughter, Lisa House set her mother's death had nothing to do with the coronavirus. Her mother had a pressure ulcer or bed sores. They're commonly known. She had it since December of 2018, and it just got worse and worse. It became infected. Lisa how was said she begged Trey Burke Rehabilitation Center to send her mother to the emergency room. But they assured us that they could handle it. Lisa House and her three sisters had their doubts. And their experience Traber and Rehabilitation Center didn't seem to be able to handle much on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. The federal government gives Traber in just one. It also gets below average ratings on the ratio of nurses to residents. The government has find Traber and almost $190,000 in the past three years. We were there a lot, and we found ourselves having to bathe her just general things they were supposed to do. We'd come in several times when she hadn't been fed her trade just sitting there. The House sisters hadn't had a lot of luck with nursing homes in general. Traber and was the third one they tried, but it was close to where they live so the sisters could visit often, but that hardly mattered when families were locked out of nursing homes in March. Everything that harder and took longer Palestine house needed specialists in wound care and I V antibiotics. Lisa House had her mother's power of attorney Again. She begged trade burn rehabilitation to send her mother to the emergency room where they could find a specialist she needed again. She was turned down. Their excuses were Well, the hospital's not taking new patients because of cove it and she would be safer. She stayed here and the facility is equipped to take care of your mother. And none of those things turned out to be true. Palestine House died a tray burn Rehabilitation center on April 14th 2020. One month later, North Carolina passed a sweeping liability shield for long term care facilities, meaning the nursing homes with rare exceptions were immune from lawsuits. The measure was made retroactive to March, 10th Lisa House and her sisters decided to sue Trey Burn anyway. Elizabeth the Todd is their attorney. Palestine House did not have to die in that way or at that time. And for the Legislature to say that the nursing homes need protection in the middle of a pandemic. Not the nursing home patients is outrageous and It's unjust North Carolina's immunity law less until the pandemic is over. Todd is especially worried that the law gives the free pass to nursing homes with low staffing like Trey burn, and so literally, the nursing homes can take their own understaffing their chronic understaffing and use it as a shield. To prevent any liability at all. During the cove it pandemic through their attorneys. Trey Burn Rehabilitation Center declined comment, but for many in the long term care industry His immunity measures are welcome relief, says Day vocal CEO of the Arizona Health Care Association. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey was among the first to sign an executive order granting nursing homes and assistant looking facilities, legal immunity. And for that we applaud him because that just takes a little bit of pressure off vocal says it allows facilities to focus on what's most important. We need to worry about keeping Cove it out of the building. But sometimes that cuts into the bottom line says vocal Take, for instance, 100 Dead building and they really have 50 rooms, two beds per room. But to keep infection from spreading, those double rooms may have to be converted to private rooms. So revenue is cut in half. It really takes its toll on the business side of the ledger. Long term care facilities face a crisis of existential proportions, says Mark Reagan, the attorney for the California Association of Health Facilities. That's because liability insurers are excluding all things Cove it when they renew policies, which would mean that any claims made Regarding covert infection would be subject to exclusion and no insurance coverage. Congressional Republicans wanted a national immunity law but dropped it. It's part of the deal for the latest coronavirus relief package. Reagan still has hopes. What we're merely asking for is that caregivers and their employers don't get punished for doing the best that they could under the circumstances. I imagine that the family of Palestine House doesn't in fact, think the nursing home was doing the best I could for their mother. Well, right there. Attorney Elizabeth Todd points out that One of North Carolina's immunity criteria is that a facility must be acting in good faith, and she doesn't see how trade burn can argue that they did that. So where does this case stands now? Well, Elizabeth Todd is now waiting to see if the case will be dismissed because of the immunity law. Or if Lisa House and her sisters will get their day in court. Clearly he's healthy targeted the hornets. And yeah maybe. If stephen adams is out and he's healthy ready to go why not. Yeah i mean if if that is it if it's just a one. His name was the white powell he would have been the order. Well last game. Yeah i mean if it was that just one game difference thin. Yeah just bring him back to prison back. They're going to be social and look. I'm not saying. I want to risk injury. You're putting his career in jeopardy but if it's a one game difference now quitting any raise. Yeah yeah it can't make that much of a difference if it's longer i get it But yeah it's a it's gonna be rough for the mavericks. I mean but a lot of teams are dealing with this. They actually just announced that they're postpone the game between the celtics and heat. I think the heat and somebody so that's going on anyways so hopefully they can still get some wins. Duri time per. Yeah so we'll see but that that's that's the ugly coming up for the mavericks because it is i mean. Thankfully they want against the magic they had players out to in its magic and their next two games. Aren't against the lakers and the clippers. It's the pelicans and the hornets. Yeah so of course. I already loss against the hornets. Good then chances are will be at true Will get to our game predictions at the end of the episode..
