"Joel and lord Travis here for another episode of the bad crypto podcast this one coming hot on the heels of a weekend that will go down in infamy. Hello trev. My my my. Crypto goes down, crypto goes up, crypto goes down, crypto goes up, and wow, you know, it's really up today. You know, is that Joel? The world it is up today in the world doesn't change. Like here we are with the second biggest bank failure in U.S. history and the U.S. government stepping in to stop the contagion and the dominoes falling. Trevor, are there any other banks that people should avoid? I mean, knowing that S is a bad starter for a bank. Yeah. Yeah, that's so true. So maybe if you are Santander bank, you might want to be on the lookout south state bank. Security bank. There's a few of those out there. S and T, that's one. Stockyards bank. I mean, there's a lot of banks that Sally may. Santana has a bank. Santana has a bank and they play guitar when you come in. Come to a bank. We're going to have a bank around here. We've been talking about this stuff for a while, folks. And you know, it's like, what happens? What are some of the first stages of a potential traditional financial system collapse? Because if you've listened to some of the previous episodes that we've done, G Edward Griffin and talking about the creation of the Federal Reserve banking system, the creation of Fiat currency, how the life of a world reserve currency Joel last what? 80, 90 years, maybe. And here we are, so all of these things are sort of lined up, and then you had the pandemic, and then you had all these banks taken into posits and then putting them into risky things. It's just crazy watching what's going on. And one thing that's peculiar to me, Joel, is that every one of these banks are like innovation friendly kind of banks. They are. So

"AP's 40 time Josh roundtree, we started the NBA where Denver rally back for a win, more from correspondent Bruce Morton. The nuggets overcame a slow start and defeated New Orleans one 22 one 13. For the injury riddled pelicans, this was the 9th consecutive game in which their wings were clipped. The Western Conference leaders were down by as many as 12 before pulling to within 60 57 at the break. Denver went on an 8 to two run to start the second half and remained in control. Jamal Murray was game high with 32. Elsewhere, the heat snuck by the calves 197, LeBron James had his first triple double of the season scoring 28 points with ten rebounds and 11 assists as the Lakers topped the Knicks in OT one 29 one 23. In college basketball, a top ten showdown in the big 12, 8th ranked Kansas got 20 points and 8 boards from jaylen Wilson in a 90 78 win over 7th ranked Kansas state. Marilyn knocked off 21st ranked Indiana, 66, 55. On the ice Carolina allowed four second period goals, but came back to beat the king's 5 four and OT. Sebastian aho scored the winner to complete the rally. It wasn't like panic motor or anything like that. We talked about when we get one power play before we write back in it and we got the first goal on 5 O 5, which helped. In Columbus evgeny kuznetsov scored early in OT to lift Washington over the blue jackets four three. Trevor van riemsdyk scored twice in the win. We talked before the game about how important these two points were just going in the break, feeling good, a little bit of positive vibes for when we come back and have this home stretch. In the NFL, the Houston Texans have found their next coach, hiring former Houston player and forty-niners defensive coordinator, D'amico ryans to the top job. And according to multiple sources, the Broncos have agreed to trade a first round pick in 2023 and a second round pick in 2024 to New Orleans for former saints head coach Sean Payton making him Denver's 19th head coach in franchise history. "NFL roundup Saturday preview. I'm Dave ferry. Fresh off a biweek, the eagles and chiefs are back on the field Saturday and her favorites to advance to the conference championship games. Philadelphia hosts the Giants of Kansas City entertains the Jaguars. The week off gave eagles quarterback Jalen hurts extra time to rest his spring right shoulder. He missed two games, but was back under center when the eagles beat the Giants 22 16 in week 18. Hertz has respect for the Giants defense. Regardless of what they've done, you know, I think they've done it well. What are they playing man coverage? They do that well, whatever the plan is on coverage, they play that well. So I think for us, it's just on us executing versus them. Hurts was healthy when the eagles handed the Giants their worst loss of the season, 48, 22 and week 14. And now the two teams meet for the third time in 7 weeks, eagles wide receiver AJ Brown says he doesn't see that as an advantage for either team. It doesn't matter how many times you play it. Come down to it. This opportunity and shouldn't be worried about what you did in the past or it doesn't help it doesn't hurt. You got to execute and that's what we find. The Giants were riding high at 7 and two before a two 5 and one finish dropped them to the 6th seed, but New York advanced in the wildcard as Daniel Jones threw for 301 yards and ran for 78 yards in the 31 24 downing of the Vikings. But he faces another challenge playing in front of the hostile eagle fans. It's a divisional game. I think that brings some intensity to it and yeah, I mean, they're known for having a good crowd that supports their team and yeah, so we're prepared for it. We've played there. Coach Brian debal says Jones has grown in his four NFL seasons, although this is their first year together. Dave ball sees Jones as a calming influence who is far removed from the player who went 12 and 25 in his first three years. Players looked to him because he is that consistent voice consistent message and consistent player, how he practices, I think, consistent is probably the best word to use. On paper, the chief's Jaguars game appears to be a potential mismatch, and Jags coach Doug Peterson knows their margin for error is small. For us, it's just a matter of just staying disciplined and trusting what we're doing. And just understand your role within your game plan, right? And just execute each play one at a time. Peterson was a backup quarterback when Reid was head coach of the eagles. And he also was a member of Reid's coaching staff. Reed has been impressed by Jacksonville's improvement this season. They've improved every week, and they have bought it. Doug's done a great job as his coaches have. It takes everybody. So, but he's a nice job with her. A 27, 17 loss in Kansas City left the Jaguars three and 7, but Jacksonville won 6 of its last 7 to win the AFC south, then turned to 27, nothing deficit into a 31 30 win over the Chargers in the wild card round. They advanced to the divisional round despite four first half interceptions by Trevor Lawrence, who also threw for four touchdowns and leading the comeback. I think we scored every drive in the second half, didn't pun again. So, I mean, that's huge, obviously, gives us confidence, and you don't want to do that, but to be able to win a game like that is really, really special. Lawrence has put up good numbers, throwing for 4113 yards and 25 touchdowns. But chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes put up historic numbers, racking up 5250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns for the NFL's number one scoring offense. But the playoffs are an elevated brand of football, according to mahomes. I think you build up for this all season long. The regular season you take it week by week, but you want to be here in the playoffs and you know you're going to play the best football teams in the league and that's what you want to do as a competitor. And so I'm excited to get to go up against a great football team at arrowhead. That's always a good time. As of Friday afternoon, DraftKings had the chiefs at 9 point favorite while the eagles were giving 7 and a half points. Sunday's games have the bills hosting the Bengals before the cowboys visit the forty-niners. I'm Dave ferry, AP sports.

"NFL playoffs roundup. I'm Dave fairy. In his first postseason performance, Trevor Lawrence giveth, any taketh away. Denny cap has details. The Jack wires rally from 27 down to edge the Chargers 31 to 30, rightly Patterson's 36 yard field goal as time expired count the third largest comeback in NFL postseason history. Jaguar's quarterback Trevor Lawrence overcame the worst half of his career to win and his playoff debut. I didn't play my best tonight, so I'm gonna watch the table. There's gonna be so much to learn from. But honestly, I mean, you couldn't write a better script than to win a game like that. Lawrence threw four first half interceptions, three to asante Samuel junior to help the Chargers score the first 27 points of the game. He went on to throw four touchdowns, including three in the second half. Chargers head coach Brandon staley says their second half execution was poor. Anytime you're up 27 to 7 and a half time and you've got four takeaways and you end up winning the takeaway margin four nothing. It's going to be it's going to be a killer. I'm hurting for everybody in that locker room. It's a special group of guys and this is the toughest way that you can lose. The forty-niners open their postseason schedule by claiming their 11th consecutive victory. Ryan Leung was there. The forty-niners outscored Seattle 25 to 6 in the second half to beat the Seahawks 41 to 23. In his playoff debut, Brock purdy was 18 of 30 for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Having 6 games under my belt in terms of just playing in an NFL game and trying to win for four quarters, you know, has helped me get to this point and all the guys in the locker room got my back. They've all grown together. So we're ready for what's ahead. Christian McCaffrey had a 119 yards rushing, and deebo Samuel had 6 catches for a 133 yards. You know Smith was 25 of 35 for 253 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. McCaffrey says pretty showed a lot of poise for a guy who was taken last overall in the 2022 draft. He's extremely confident and he's exactly what you would want in a quarterback. No moment is too big for him and he makes corrections quickly and we saw that today and he's able to go out there and play with some juice and hit the right guys and let everybody else do their jobs. Sunday's games have the bills hosting the dolphins. The Vikings entertaining the Giants and the ravens visiting the Bengals. The dolphins with the last team to grab an AFC playoff birth. And buffalo finished with the second best winning percentage in the conference, but bill's coach Sean McDermott says his team better be ready. That's a good football team. That we've split with this year and we have a lot of respect for them in terms of what they've done and what they've accomplished this season. So we've got to get ourselves ready to go. The dolphins handed the bills their first loss of the season during week three. Buffalo was a 32 29 winner over Miami at Orchard park on December 17th. The Vikings of the number three seed in the NFC, three spots ahead of the Giants, but New York is one of the sexy pics to pull off an upset. Minnesota head coach Kevin O'Connell says he has respect for giants coach Brian dabel and defensive coordinator wink martingale. I've talked a lot about not only their head coach, but wink and his staff, they do a phenomenal job, their challenge to prepare for and our guys got to be ready to go and ready to go play fast against a really talented defense. The Vikings earned a 27 24 home win over the Giants on Christmas Eve. Like the bills and Vikings, the Bengals are well familiar with their road opponent. Cincinnati beat the ravens 27 16 a week ago, but Baltimore came away with the last second win over the Bengals on October 9th. Joe burrow hopes their AFC title run last season will benefit them this month. I think it's natural to call back on experiences that you've had in similar situations. So I think I'd be lying if I said I wasn't, but like I said, it's a new year new team, new opponents, and so we know what it takes. That's all last year did for us. The first round ends with the Buccaneers hosting the cowboys on Monday night. I'm Dave ferry, AP sports.

Hamlin joined the team's morning meeting by video conference on Friday, bills coach Sean McDermott. They stood up right away and clapped for him and yelled some things to him and it was a pretty, pretty cool exchange. Hamlin went into cardiac arrest in the first quarter of Monday's game against the Bengals. Meanwhile, the NFL has approved a resolution that could move the AFC title game to a neutral site. That would occur if both teams played an unequal number of games and could have been the number one seed. NBA. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving led the nets to their 13th win in 14 games. One O 8 one O two versus the pelicans. Duran had 33 points and ten rebounds, Irving scored 19, including a deep three to put the nets ahead one O 6 100 with 44 seconds remaining. Highlights of Sunday's action in the NFL's Week 15

"Week 15, NFL roundup. I'm Ben Thomas, Sunday's action saw two more overtime games, but neither qualifies as the wildest finish of the weekend. That was in Las Vegas, with the Raiders beat the Patriots. Ryan lyong explains how. The Raiders scored on a crazy play as time expired to beat the Patriots 30 to 24 with three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and the game tied the Patriots tried to extend a 23 yard run by ramonda Stevenson, but a second lateral by Jacoby Myers was fumbled and recovered by the Raiders Chandler Jones who ran it back 48 yards for the game winning touchdown. At first I was thinking who's around me. And I felt myself stumbled a little bit after the stiff arm. And that was thinking, who do I pitch it to that? I was just trying to, you know, keep the ball alive. It's when I stayed up, I just turned the jets on and the rest was history. Derek Carr was 20 of 38 for 231 yards and three touchdowns. The Bengals Buccaneers game in Tampa matched two division leaders led by two marquee quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Joe burrow. Early on, this was dominated by Brady and the bucks who jumped out to a 17 and nothing lead, but as Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd said, his team didn't panic and capitalized on four Tampa turnovers. When we create them, turn those, we got to go get them touchdowns, and not three. So I think the turning point was the offense rallying off the defense and making those turnovers into touchdowns. Boyd caught one of Joe burrow's four touchdown passes as the Bengals scored 34 consecutive points, cruising to a 34 23 win. Eric waddell, Tampa. Now one of the games that went to OT, Denny cap. The Jaguars overcome a 17 point second half deficit to stun the cowboys 40 34 and overtime. Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence through three of his four touchdowns in the second half, hitting receivers a Jones on three of those four scores. I think it says a lot about this team, how much we trust one another. Widely Patterson sent the game to overtime on a 48 yard field goal as time expired, that set up rayshawn Jenkins for the game winning pick 6 of dak Prescott as Jacksonville improved a 6 and 8 on the season, Noah Brown caught a pair of touchdowns for the cowboys who saw four game winning streaks now and fell to ten and four. I'm Denny cap. The cowboys have clinched a playoff spot, but there are lots of winning the NFC east have gotten longer with the eagles surviving a trip to a frigid soldier field in Chicago. I really couldn't feel my hands. Equals quarterback, Jalen hurts. Didn't really have good vision on the field. In some, I never play anything that cold. Still, final score eagles 25 bears 20. The other two teams in the NFC east still have a shot at a wild card. Craig heist has the outcome of the Giants trip to Washington. Rookie pass rusher kayvon thibodeau had a strip sack of Taylor heinicke and a recovery for a touchdown while saquon Barkley rushed for a touchdown in 87 yards as the Giants beat the commanders 20 to 12. Barkley and the Giants are inching closer to the playoffs. Big win for us and, you know, playing meaningful games here in December, you know, is where you want to be. Heineken through for a touchdown pass, but was also sacked three times. The Giants improved to 8 5 and one while the commanders fall to 7.6 in one. Craig heist land over Maryland. The lines and jets are both now 7 and 7, but one of them is feeling a lot better about it than the other, Mike mancuso was at this one. The Lions continued their playoff push with the 20 to 17 win over the jets, trailing 17 to 13 with one 49 remaining on a fourth and one Jared Goff hit tight end, Brock Wright, who rumbled 51 yards for the go ahead TD. I know we had it, knew the cutback would be there, and I just thought, run as fast as I can, getting that into. Jets quarterback, Zach Wilson, who threw for 317 yards, got the jets set up for a field goal of one second remaining, but Greg sirloin missed from 58 yards. Other finals, the chiefs survived a trip to Houston beating the Texans 30 to 24 in overtime. The Chargers topped the Titans 1714, the Steelers put a 24 16 pounding on the Panthers, the saints so with the falcons 21 18, while the wolf will Broncos be the spiraling Cardinals 24 15. "The Jaguars overcome a 17 point second half deficit to stun the cowboys 40 34 and overtime. Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence through three of his four touchdowns in the second half, hitting receivers a Jones on three of those four scores. Dallas has a great team. Really, really good team. So that's going to happen and just to be able to fight through that. "Hey everybody, it is drags Mike petrolia once again coming at you on the ceiling media network with another episode of Red Sox beat. This week, Alex barth of 98 5, the sports hub is back citgo sign in all baseball cap on, ready to talk a little Trevor story joining the Boston Red Sox this week. I'm bloom, Alex. Finally made the big splash Red Sox fans were hoping for in terms of signing a free agent who could really help the Red Sox offensively right handed bat, of course. He fills a need on the infield, though it's not as natural position. He's never played second base, but we're going to find out if he can play second base with the Boston Red Sox as Xander Bogart's stays at home at shortstop. So Trevor's story signs 6 years, a $140 million. That's $22.5 million AAV. And there is a 7th year option that kicks in if the Red Sox choose to do so by the fourth year of his contract, they pick up the option and it extends to 7 years and a $160 million, but Trevor's story on board with Boston Red Sox. I like the deal. How about you? Yeah, I really do. I like it from a number of different angles. I like the short term impact. I like the long-term impact, but I thought the contract itself was very team friendly. You mentioned the money compared to what some of these other guys got. You look at Carlos Correa. So this is the move Red Sox fans have been waiting for. I think they've been waiting for since Mookie betts got traded, right? Was all right, you're going to dip back below the CBT. You're going to reset that penalty and then come back out swinging and we were all waiting for the swing and here it is. So it was good to see it. It seemed like it wasn't going to happen for a little bit there. Guys were flying off the board left and right and there were only a couple of those marquee free agents left, but whether you assign a march 1st or march 20th, the guy is still going to be in the lineup opening day, so it all worked out..

"Why why is that. Duality only afforded to a select group of people. Why can they not be african. So what what they're arguing here is in order to be french. You have to erase everything. That is african. Because what are they. What do they mean when they say that our culture our this this is like so so you cannot be french and african at the same time which which i vehemently disagree with. I go if you've seen those players. I love them polk county. I i've watched all of them like i. Those players and i love how african they are and how french i don't take their friendships away. But also don't think he needs to take their african this away. And that's that is what i love about america. America's not perfect country. But what i love about. The space is that people can still celebrate their identity in their americanise. You can go to saint patrick's day parade in america celebrating. That you will irish. You can go to a puerto rican day parade in america still celebrating the fact that you puerto rican and american at the same time you can celebrate june teams as a black person and be like yo. I'm african american. Which is the duality of the two worlds. But here they're going. No you only french and kiss. Here's why victims me to be honest. This is what i find. Interesting is like when i read stories from africa and when i watch politicians say especially in france about african migrants when they are unemployed when they may commit a crime when they're considered unsavory. It's the african immigrants. When their children go on to provide a world cup victory for france we should only refer to them as fronts and we even saw it with that african men who climbed the building to rescue the baby. Do you remember that. We watched him climb the building. He rescued the child and then they gave him french citizenship. They said you are now french. So now i'm going so is he now no longer. African is that what you're saying. So when he was on the ground was african and then he climbed up and as soon as he rescued the baby now. He's french so if he dropped the baby. African.

"I wanted to share this little story with you. Got into a little bit of trouble with the french governments. I know the french government so what happened was. Let's start at the beginning France won the world cup. And so and so on the show. I we we celebrated that and i had this joke where i said i said africa won the world cup and i was shocked at how angry a lot of french. People gots like genuine lot of french. People were angry and they were like trevor. How can you say these where we say these things you know. This is horrible. And i was like okay. I get it like not. Everyone likes every joke that you tell and i get that but this was interesting. I got a letter from the ambassador. The ambassador of france. And and i'll read it was it was about that joke and he says i'll try to read it how i hope he wrote it. Which was this sir. I watched with great attention. July seventeenth show when you spoke the victory of the french team at the two thousand eighteen world cup russia final which took place last sunday ahead. Your words about an african victory. Nothing could be true now. First of all. I think it could have been less. I could have said they were scandinavian. That that would have been less true. That would have been less true. Says as many of the players have already stated themselves their parents may have come from another country but the great majority of them all but two out of twenty three where abundant france. They were educated in france. They learned to play soccer in france. They're french citizens. They're proud of their country france. The rich and various backgrounds of these players is a reflection of france's diversity. Friends is indeed now that line. That was interesting. The rich and various backgrounds of these players is a reflection of francis diversity. Now i'm not trying to be an asshole. But i think it's more reflection of france's colonialism.

"Laughing. Stop laughing while i'm talking to you. Stop laughing. I was thinking like i think part of the problem in america is that nine one one people think of nine one one is being instant response and like when i was growing up in south africa. One of my favorite. Tv shows as to watch with my mom was a show called rescue. Nine one one. Right william shatner and it was like a show where they're going nine one one emergency. It'd be like i'm in my house as well and then like nine one one would get and i remember even when we were watching and we'd be like wow nine one one nine one lives in africa like nine one one and we never thought of our numbers because they started. They try to every ten triple one because they tried to be like. Yeah we've also got to think people like kendra born like no and because they try to go with that feeling but we never thought of it as instant response because if you would call our like call centers. It wouldn't be as efficient and so like in america. I think people are used to the fact that something will get done now so thinking what you should do is just like dull for a bit. You should bring the south african operates here just so that people stop thinking nine. One one is like an instant solution. Because they'll ask you questions. I get american. There's someone's getting on our way. I heard with nine one one even if you call them and then hang up. They'll come to check what happened. Which i mean. I get it but also like that's crazy whereas in south africa like if you if they called if you ever gonna operate is doing nine one you'd call. Hello there's a man at the park and they'd be like hello can help you. It'd be like does a man at the puck and it'd be like end again. He he looks really suspicious. Okay go talk to him. Ask him what he's doing asking me his name. What is doing that. I'm scared of talking to him. But like okay walk away then you go like people here just like the cups are no not coming for everything like you can call number one because you can't is in a tree that some crazy shit in africa that you just be like. Yeah you'd be know my cats the truth they'd be okay. Yeah you like need. My cat stuck in st. It'd be like yeah so we do and you help but they'd be like then. How will your cat len net kit. Safa it will never do again. Thank you for calling. Please stay on..

But maybe i saw them and was like oh boy. That's a great caller. They were popping. They really yeah. We had Trevor zegers. I think that's the first interview first interview that you and i have ever done together. Just the two of us because we had brian baumgartner hop into zoom early and that was a torture chamber for him and then today we actually just interviewed a guy normally and it went really. Well yeah trevor zegers Like you said anaheim ducks. He's also vinnie. La- tarries buddy. Because he is a teammate with him. Who vanilla terry was out with us in minnesota at the barstool classic yesterday. I've been i with them three times in three days over the last three days so was able to get some nice information about zegers or z. As you call him and basically he warned me like this kids twenty years old and he like owns the room in like very not cocky but very confident in like spitting out like like whether it's like Like he likes the chirp you or he just likes to laugh and like make jokes. Usually twenty year olds are very reserved brand new into a new job. Like this guy is just entering. Nhl he was the world. Juniors mvp during fantastic win over canada in canada for the united states in world junior so during olympic times. Everyone's playing for their country. This guy is a olympic is a world junior legend. He had eighteen points in the world. Juniors tournament So i mean the guy will go down in history as like one of the best performers in that championship He's not in a bad way. he's just he's definitely owns a room but he's a super nice and he'll be a really really good player in this league because he's crazy. Skilled venue is telling me. This guy's hands are like he's playing in a he's like up and down. He's playing with the ducks and he's also playing with this. I guess the goals the the san diego gulls. Maybe is the name the affiliate. But he's like he's too good for that league like he goes out there and tries to do like lacrosse goals. And all these crazy things like. He's just having fun out there until he gets the shot to go back onto the ducks and then it's go time. Somebody who's twenty years old is so incredibly young. And you forget like you said that that person has elevated to a status. That's already more impressive than anywhere will ever be. And they're twenty years old. They are the same age as someone who is what like a sophomore in college. Which when you're a sophomore in college you are clueless. You are walk you out like your your like one of those bears still who comes out of hibernation and there's a high percentage chance you just died you don't make it because you're twenty years old. You're not even a human yet. This person very upset that. I missed it because those people that are that young. I mean i'm thirty. Four the guys. I'm almost twice as all of this fucking. I'd like a series or no all all different. Wow really really fun for people One was the wheel of time when was never surrendered to a scoundrel at the the scoundrel. Wow that's great. So did you get residuals for that. And now it's like. Oh two hundred bucks but cover unless it's like a major like topsoil and oprah book now. This is an interesting kind of look into the world of. I think mayo modeling. People have no idea how much of a racket can write. It looks glamorous on instagram with glamorous but really it's it's super hard. Do you move you know. you're from connecticut connecticut. I've been in europe for ten years. But i moved for modeling. You did an. I've been marlene off. Non for public five years now. Did you like were you. Recruited did I had a small agency in connecticut. And i shot with a photographer in new york from them and i fell in love with new york and i wanted to be here eventually. And he'll be built my portfolio. I'm here boy. you're lucky to be from connecticut. Well yeah because. I've i've couple friends who came from like hicksville seriously. Tennessee kentucky Mississippi they live like in trailer parks in. They were like. I don't even know how they were recruited but they were brought here for italy for modeling. And they like you know. They're they get some guy great bookings but they are broke a. Yeah all right. Well that's how i did the catering stuff. So what the top male model in the world. Who no one could make you know. I know szanto prize. One of them probably top ten. You have a he. Compared to women will get paid peanuts. It's all about. The women is such a women's industry. The the guy model feel sexist. Actually do you know. I mean would have you book a job. It's great to do so. Let's veer off here. Because i actually not before we get into the real meat. There was a scandal recently couple years ago about male models being sexually absolutely having you know luckily it hasn't You know i know wouldn't put my foot down until knock it off or if it's really weird i just leave or as people my booker who i want. I need to think about this because it was like the top photographers..

"That's also something that's been that's been liberating are. It was like i remember when i met. I met a young kid. Maybe like twelve years old with his mom. And i think i was in queens or somewhere and he bumped into me in the street and he's like hey man are you. Trevor noah was like yeah and he recognized me even though i had my mosque on and he said oh man. I'm such a big fan of most. He loves your show. And i let him watch it. Even though it's eight and you know he loves the loves politics that loves this and then he said man. It's so cool that like you do in late night and you do in the show and like talk an obama and then we've all got afros and this kid little effort was well you know he was just so happy and his mom said to me. She was like yeah man. She's like he was so happy. When you grew africa's he couldn't cut his hand. You couldn't cut your hair and now here you both were in this world with afros and i didn't realize how long it had been since i love myself to grow my hair because for so long i'd also adopted the ideas realizing of what professional hair looks like. Well that's nice. But when are you going to look respectable. Trevor when are you gonna go back to business hair. What is business hair. What does that mean. And so i even had to question mount conditioning to understand these things you know does. Does this determine what conversation i can and cannot have with you know for so for so many conversations in america and in many parts of the world why a person is treated the way they are is often down to how they addressed. Why did cops do that to him. While he was wearing a hoodie you never know with a hoodie. And it's like the hoodie. And so i don't know maybe there's a part of me. That defiantly goes yeah. You know what. I i want to interview the president of the united states wearing a hoodie. You know. I want to talk to leaders. I wanna talk to business executives. I wanna talk to the most powerful people wearing a hoodie because a lot of people out there who these and a lot of those people are judged because they wear hoodies highway hoodies. And so i go. You know what little hoodie being a space. Where doesn't necessarily be long until it does nip the hair be in space. That doesn't belong until the does and that became something that i thought of doing because i was just like yemen. This is who i am. I was like if you don't accept me for who i am then. I don't want you to accept me. And so that's been really liberating journey to be on as a human being. And i think the pandemic stripped a lot of people of that pump and ceremony. You know we're at home in sweats. Compu- fancy. I know how you live now. I see the trash behind. You and i think that's a good thing. I think it's a little bit of society that's been you know. A little bit of the sheen on the varnish has been taken off we see each other a little bit more for better and for worse and so for myself. I don't know that. I'll go back to the suits and the leather shoes. And if i do. I do and if i don't i don't but i will no longer think that this is something i have to do. You know this is not a. This is not a measure of professionalism. I can do my job regardless of how you see me. I can do it. And so s. Going back to the studio. I mean you know i. I have a few surprises my sleeve as to what that looks like. You know. i'm working on a few things with the team. And we really excited. Because i want it to be intentional. You know voice people. Everyone goes like when are you going back. Are you going back. Where are you going back. And said i'm never going back. I'm only moving forward when i was doing it. Man i remember coming out in this purple jacket with ripped jeans and they called an organization called maggot. I think the organization was called and they did focus groups to show me that america didn't want me and ripped jeans. You know. I remember how important that was. How has the daily show been for you. As far as controlling you or approving or disapproving. How how they dealt with you during this pandemic well. The great thing is there is no the daily show myself and my team. There is no overlord in that regard. There's nobody who who looks over us. Editorially or no you know. We have a fact checker to make sure that. What we're saying is factually correct. You know ironically with a comedy show that has a fact checker and then there's so many new shows that just say whatever they want but yeah we do. We have a fact checker. And that's the main thing we focus on. I'm still trying to make sure that represents who i am. And so you know send you you know me. I'm pretty certain when you watch the show. You're like yeah. This is trevor. He's performing but this is trevor. You don't like who is this guy. It's pretty much me. And so i've been really lucky that the that comedy central has gone. No we trust you go ahead. We trust you do it. You know so. They don't go dress like this. Don't dress like that your hair. You know. They just go. We trust you do this thing. And due to the best of your ability and so what that has enabled me to do is succeed by my own sword or die by my own sword and that's been liberating and frightening at the same time and i love it. I was passing him all the other day. And i had a strange memory. I looked up at this building. And it said sears. When i was little those building say sears and roebuck because those two names were locked together. You couldn't have one without the other. You've mentioned your executive producer a couple times. How important is that team. My team helps me to not make the wrong decisions. I think that's what a great team is. Also helping you do. I don't think every decision i have is correct and thankfully my team. Sometimes be like whoa. That's completely wrong. I'm like You think so that terrible like okay you know. I'm not going to be perfect every single day. No do i wish to be. And that's what's nice about. Having a team is that we trust each other and trying to do something together to you and your ep argue disagree and when you disagree how do you decide what goes on the air gentleman's flange tonight we don't argue that much so as the showrunner and surprisingly we have very similar taste. I heard the same joke where we go making the show for people rights. And she's like yeah we make him the show for people and that's how much we're making the show for people. Sometimes i have a few writers or to politics. You know they get too deep into the politics they forget that making the show for the people but they're super smart and the great and i go like what were we gonna bring that back a little bit you know. Some of my rights is only wanna tell jokes. they don't want to go into anything deep. And that's fine as well. Let's let's add a bit of brevity into this thing and let's have a conversation but in terms of with myself and jen. I'm very lucky that we. I think that's why we work. Well together is we. We both love to love. We both love to have meaningful conversations and we both like to create a good show. You know. don't want you to watch the daily show every day thinking that oh old. Black people are suffering every day. And there's no other existence for a black person illman..

"Priority because earth is our priority at fedex. We knew sustainability. Means a lot to you and we feel the same way. Our goal is to be carbon neutral by twenty forty. We call it priority earth fedex. Were now meets next. You know your show to a fan. Your show is kind of like friends. You have this family this group of friends you know you have joey and rachel you do say jordan. I knew roy because he's a standup dizzy. Ronnie mike talk about your team. Your little comedy family your correspondents. That's something that the daily show does very well. Not every late night hosts has that family of friends. Oh yeah that's that's one of the things that i loved and i adopted from john stewart. You know that was the the relationship that you can create with people who have differing points of views and the ability to showcase different points of views or ideas on your show. You know i myself. As trevor was a contributor i came on the show and i would contribute my opinion to the daily show and john stewart would be as my foil and so one thing i loved was that relationship and so i wanted to continuously create that and so you know that that that that was the team and and so. We've had new additions to the team. But roy has been there from the very beginning from day one. I remember watching comedy. And i was called roy out like come on out to new york for an audition and he came out on the night before he was doing a set of the comedy cellar and i went to watch him and immediately after the. You've got the job and he's like but i'm gonna come to the addition to ours. Yeah you'll come with you got the job. Same thing happened with michael kosta. I went out to. La is him performing us guys. Got the job. And that was one of those instances where with michael costa executive producer. Jeff who was like this guy special house like is he though. She's like this guy special man he's got something and i happened to be in la. And so i went to the comedy clubs to watch him. He didn't even know i was there. I was like all right. This guy's got it. let's go you know. And so all of these people have been interesting in the way we come to meet them. How i come to know them as human beings ronnie chang. I met in edinburgh scotland doing a comedy festival. That's how i met. Ronnie chang. And i was like. This dude is one of the craziest funny people i've ever met. And i remember saint-german scotland. When i don't know how but one day i hope i get to work with you and so let me get your number. And let's see the world takes us. And then i think two or three years later he got a call from me saying yo. Do you wanna try something crazy. And then ronnie did and he joined the show and so the journey has been wonderful. You know dessi lighted who's just become like one of my bulwarks. On the shows which i know she can smash anything she. She's one of the most talented performers and actresses. I've ever come across. You know dul say one of the smartest people fluent in spanish all of the people on the show have the about them. There's a different element that they used to touch the show with. And i really appreciate that. Because i think it makes the show a little bit more dynamic in that. It's not always trevor. Just telling you what he thinks or how he sees the world. I've got all of these correspondents and my team. And my family as you say where they can also give an opinion and we can have a fight as friends and we can talk about what we were experiencing in the world. Does your correspondents. Because i know a stand up i think yeah do they. All come in the writer's room. Do they participate in all that stuff. No they will. They will so. They'll they participate. Oftentimes they will be the the the originator of the idea or if it comes together we around. We'll have an idea and then they will go with writers and they will continuously punch it up and writes it for themselves. They'll create the thing that they will then end up putting on screen. And so i've. I've always been really focused on making sure that correspondents are comfortable with what they are portraying on scene because it's politics i don't want somebody going on screen and then just you know selling themselves down the river. No i want you to be confident in what you're saying and so you know. Even if you're playing an arch character played the way you'd like to play it. Let's get this thing going and let's let's let me give you the best possible platform in the same way that i was afforded. Here's something i've noticed as a comic and as a fan but first of all. Where are you sitting. Where is that if we turn the camera around. That's the corner of your apartment. What is that. Yeah this is. This is a corner little spot in my apartment where i had this place because i wanted to play video games here and then read books here and i was like. I want my little nook to do that. By tiny little space in new york was just like my little sanctuary and the pandemic hits. And then i was going around my apartment looking for places that didn't have an echo. Didn't have like just like sound like sirens bouncing of windows. Or you know what i mean. And then i was like oh i guess i guess i can give up like my little reading my little sanctuary Maybe it's partially. Because this is where i feel the safest this is where i feel cozy in my vibe and this is where i feel like it's me and you know that's all it is it's me and it's you there's nothing else that's happening here and and so. Yeah that's that's how this little spot came to be and it's tiny. It'll and it's cramped and i like it because it makes me go like no this is. This is the intimacy i'm looking for. You're gonna miss those hoodies when you have to go back go back. When do you put on the suit and the leather shoes and go back. I might never. I might never put on the suit over neither shoes or anything. I don't know you know that..

Hey trevor so i read in your book and the house food because my mind we knew who the hell no because because he died so for those are so i i. I had a dog when i was growing up like one of the dogs. We had we well. My mom was working at pharmaceutical company. And her colleague came work. when like. Hey my neighbor's dog Impregnated my dogs. I have these puppies. I don't want and then like this weird. Mix of like a bull terrier and a maltese poodle. So you wanna take them in the most like all right. i'll take two and then my mom brought them home. And i'd never had a dog before. And this is the most amazing thing in the world and we raise them to beautiful dogs. They look completely different but they were there. The best poofy and panther and my mom called the one panther of pink nose or the pink panther and then and was like the dumbest most beautiful dog ever and panthers the smartest ugliest dog you've ever seen and so like like i love the most because she's just like looked really vicious and i think that fufill was really stupid and then one day what happened was like our house. Somebody was trying to come into the house like a family friend. And they were trying to open the gates and then they move the gate and the gate fell and then panther ran away because she sleep by the gate and then panther fan but then didn't and then the gate hit her and then like it broke. Her spine is devastating when we went to the vet and then like the veterans on helper. You know we've got to put it down. Put out of her misery and the was like this was amazing. How will you guys like. How did you guys raise a dog and we were like what. What do you mean a deaf dog. And he was like oh like afterwards when i was just going through examining her while she's still living realized that she wasn't born with. I guess a certain part of the cockney or something in the store was deaf the whole time we just genuinely. This is just like fifty six. You said to me. And i never knew that the dog and then we realized what used to happen was when we'd call the dogs we'd be panther and would never come for panther will come running sometimes then she'd like look at you and then she'd run back and they both come and i was used to be like fees dumb and then i realized panther was like she didn't here and then she'd go back and fetch her then both of them would come then like now in beckham is.

We spoke about this stuff so they were like yeah different. Dad's we get how this works so my brother one day. I picked him up from school right. He's like really young at the time. Was what maybe like nine. Maybe ten years old. And he gets in the car. And he's like it gets in the passenger seat and fossils seat belts and like what's going on isaac and he's like.
