"All right. Let's go to Washington. Trevor Shirley is on the phone line of reporter for Next. Starr and News Nation in D. C. Trevor, welcome. Hey, Thanks so much for having me back. I appreciate it. I'm glad to talk to Trevor. So some up for me if you will. Now I know they concluded, making they're presenting their case and then the prosecutors, the House managers. When directly to closing arguments in my correct there. Yes. So the House impeachment managers have have rested their case. At this point, you know, they got 16 hours to make their case. I don't know if they actually used up all of those 16 hours that if they didn't, they got close to it, because that's all they've been doing yesterday and today and then starting tomorrow, former President Donald Trump's impeachment team or his defense team, rather Will start their arguments. They also get another 16 hours to make their case against convictions. So it'll be interesting to see what they present as their arguments. You know, from the get go. We know that based on the pretrial briefs that they filed, you know they're really focusing on two pillars, one that the whole trial itself is unconstitutional and number two That whatever the former president said at that rally on January, 6th was constitutionally protected free speech. So I think you can expect them to stick to those arguments. But they'll likely make some kind of adjustments to kind of push back on the on the approach that the Democrats have taken the past two days, which most Republicans and even agreed was a pretty effective Demonstrate. You know what Come when it comes to the free speech thing I know that you know that's what they're hoping to to argue. Or they could argue, And this is so simplistic, But I've not heard anyone say Yeah, but you can't yell fire in a crowded movie theater. Right, And that's kind. I mean, that would be the what the prosecution would say. Haven't heard anyone. Not that it's that clever, but I'm surprised that cliches not overused. Well, but I think it around about way That's kind of what the Democrats have been attempting to do over the past two days, especially if you work it at how they have used what was on social media. You know the postings that they pulled either from TIC tac or parlor on that they showed over the past two days, and their argument is look the former president may not have explicitly said Come in here and go into the capital. But based on his actions right after the election, you know, saying that this was rigged. It stolen the thing, the sum total of how he was conducting himself since the election, And prior to that lead all of these people to think that they were at the Capitol doing what the president Wanted them to do and I've got my lot of these protesters. I mean on social media postings and even news interviews, saying, We're here because the president wants us to be here and then this is what he wants us to do. So I see what you're saying. And I think that's that's part of the argument that the Democrats were making in a roundabout way the past few days in a more intelligent way, I would say, articular way. Well, you shouldn't agree with that turban. You just give me a little dig there. Oh s. Oh, but here's what Here's what I thought was compelling, but I'm not sure they made the connection. So they talked about the social media posts and they talked about, um you know how they were going to bring weapons. They saw this and And all of it was spelled out on social media before the rally. It was all clear that people were going to come to the capital to do damage and and then the House managers try made the allegation that the Trump administration Read all those air knew all those tell me about how they made that connection and whether it was a solid one, because if it's really solid, it's really strong. I'm not sure how solid their connection was there. I think the point that they were trying to make and I think I know I think another reference you're making. There was a lot to process two days. 23 days. I think what they were trying to use is that is basically saying that that you know there were members, according to the Democrats, who were members of the administration that knew this was happening in either didn't take action or didn't think that it was actually going to come through, but they think that was just one part of that overall lines they were trying to draw. You know, through the past few weeks or through, you know the days post election up to January 66 and argue that the sum total of what the president was doing. Eyes, the incitement argument that they're going for, as opposed to just a specific standing on that stage for however long he did on January 6 and it was, you know, they're making the argument that it wasn't just his words on that stage that quote unquote inside of this riot. Well, which is certainly true. I mean, his son was doing it. Mo Brooks, the Congress and Rudy Giuliani. There were a lot Or TV host who were encouraging these things. Not the not the riot. Certainly, but, um, the lie about the election. Um so so the defense has 16 hours that will take them through. Friday Saturday will the and then that and then the senators will vote as to whether or not they want witnesses. That's my understanding that they will decide whether or not they want witnesses after the defense has rested its case at this point, neither side has have given any indication that they plan to call witnesses and really the only witness that's been talked about much is Donald Trump and itself the Democrats. Made moves I think last week the week before saying that they wanted him to testify in his defense team pretty quickly came out and said, You know, that's not going to happen, Eh? So at this point, there's nothing specific saying that, uh, that they're going to call witnesses..

"So far so good. We came out of this pretty well. We're doing okay. Right now. The positivity rate is crept up just a little bit. But not that much went from, I think low 2.5 maybe a week in a week. Couple days ago, 23 point all right now to 23.0.52 point 73.9. That's the number you have to look at it. Look at that in the number of hospitalizations and most importantly, you be and you'll see this and you get to go to the only Department of Public Health website and they have all these numbers. The number of hospitals that number of hospital beds that are available. I seeyou beds and ventilators because that's where they will shut things down. That's what we learned before. They're not shutting down things unless we Get into a situation where the medical system itself will be so stressed. It won't be able to take care of the sickest Among the cove. Its efforts. That's where it really breaks down. So ultimately We're seeing this pop back up. California already had a bad know relatively e well, they had the initial cases they were able to get those fairly low without You know is everything shut down without huge spikes. And now when they're opening back up, they had a problem. Texas never really took it the same way Florida and take it same way some other states didn't take it the same way. Ohio, however, though, did have really good job. Of they had a huge Beginning were able to lower the numbers. And then they just popped back up on reopening. So we don't We don't really don't know where any of this is going. To make a decision about where we're actually going to be is well, a fool's errand. As my grandmother used to say, and I never understood that when she said it. Coming up on the program. But there's plenty of time to talk about that. I would get some elucidation from the former secretary of education about whether the schools here in Chicago should be opening up since. Is this going Okay, But talk about the Kevin mentioned it.
