Like, I don't know. I don't know how you prepare yourself for something like this. If they run into a team that has some game records on defense, if they run into, I don't think eagles are a great matchup for them. I don't either. I do think the cowboys are a little bit better for a matchup. They have up front. There's no, there's no rams. There's no Aaron Donald coming at some point this postseason. Because that's really what it was. You know, if you rewind to last year, you know, the offense was not in as good a shade. There's no Chris McCaffrey, so I don't want to I don't want to make a one to one comparison, but they threw some sort of misdirection, some stuff that they had, you plant a seed on a play that the one that sticks out to me was late in the rams game. They had a third in short, and they ran that Trent Williams motion that everyone loved and where and it's like, yeah, currently there's a motion, of course, they're gonna give it to him. And then it was a hand up up the middle to Kyle U shit, but didn't work. Because the rams just made a good play because they have good players on their defensive line. And it was kind of like, oh, all right, well, we have exhausted our bag here. So they punted and, you know, you know how the rest of it worked out. It just doesn't feel like it is, it doesn't feel like there are anywhere near running out of things to do. And things to reach into and throw out there just because you have so many different weapons at this point. So, man, watching Tom Brady, I saw him in Munich as you all know, saw him there and this team that's always said to me in Munich was where four and 5, let's get to 5 and 5. And they could easily lost all three. We all know the one win in between the overtime loss in Cleveland and what we saw yesterday against the forty-niners was that last second, latest Tom Brady has ever put up a game winning touchdown in the fourth quarter come back in his legendary career hit 44th comeback. In the fourth quarter of his career, that's an NFL record and just seeing the way he throws it around in those periods of time. It's just, it makes you feel like it's the old Tom Brady. And then you see yesterday and all I could think of to myself, it's conflicting. I'm conflicted. Because you see purdy and it's just like, what would Brady look like if Trent Williams is protecting him instead of on the left side rather than Donovan Smith, who with all due respect, came up with his 6th holding penalty. He was the one who had the game winning touchdown for the box against the saints to Godwin. Last week, called back, and they were actually able to overcome that with yet another touchdown. And there was a throw that Brady made a Mike Evans who wasn't scored a touchdown since week four. Evans was open, Brady hit him, touched down. Evans is in the end zone. It's a 7 7 game. Holding. On Donovan Smith. What would it be like if Trent Williams protected this guy? And, you know, he won a Super Bowl with Evans and Godwin, and it's Julio Jones with some fountain of youth moments for him? Yeah, he's looking good. But what would he be like if he had kittle at the Thailand position? McCaffrey with all due respect to rich eisen show friend, Lombardi Lenny and Rashad white. And I'm sitting there and thinking, what if he had the defense that the niners have? Have had a game like Brock purdy? Probably. And I was like, hey, Brock purdy beat Tom Brady. Kind of, I mean, you looked at it. You talked about and wins is not really the best statistical analysis. No, I know that, but everyone's on it, TJ. I was like, Tom Brady's got to worry about Bosa. So the long I was working out, I was here, my son just started kindergarten and I was working out and then I would go golfing. I was hanging out with my family, and I was kind of just like kind of got comfortable, you know what I'm saying? I wanted to play, you know, but at the same time, they were kind of like offering me league minimum deals and I was like, do I really want to move up, move my family when, at the end of the day, I had a great career, and I kind of got, I was at peace with, you know what I'm saying? It's been real. Do I really want to leave when I got going on right now? And the more and more I thought about it, the more marvel was like, it's been a great run. You know what I'm saying? Just happy being home. Just love being a dad, spending time with my kids that I wasn't able to really do. "The game plan a lot, but especially a guy who could do zone read consistently, but also like throw the ball and be active in the pocket too. I think once Lance is caught up the forty-niners are going to really start torching people. But I think we saw that. Like, you know, this is still a good team. It's a really well coach team. You know, I think they were taken to their limits this year, like the forty-niners overachiever, I think, in a lot of in a lot of respects. And so I don't know what you really get upset about. I mean, are you really going to be all frustrated about a jacuzzi tart dropped interception? You know, I mean, that's kind of a break of the game, you know? The one Shanahan decision that is coming under some level of criticism, I guess, was the punt on fourth and two in the fourth quarter, that sort of preceded the tart dropped interception. And I think this does come back to Jimmy Garoppolo. And when I say this, if you isolate the clip, it sounds like criticism of Jimmy Garoppolo, it's not Jimmy Garoppolo is not a quarterback who you can trust in the same way that Brandon staley would trust and Herbert or Zack Taylor would trust a Joe burrow or Andy Reid would trust a patrio Holmes et cetera, et cetera, that is your quarterback. It's a highly schemed offense. The way you are going to convert that first down is by some sort of schematic advantage. And I thought Shanahan threw his best punch on third down. They ran that tendency breaker that Trent Williams motion to the right side of the formation where he just basically destroys the entire right side of the world. And you run him behind it and you get 8 yards or whatever. And they knew everyone knew about that. They figured the rams would overreact to the Williams motion. They didn't. They stayed home. They made the play. And we kind of lose track when we sort of say, okay, well, what is the numbers say? What are the analytics say in this situation? If you don't have the play and you don't have the quarterback who you can just sort of say, okay, well, I'll put the ball in his hands and he'll do it. He'll make the play. You really, it's maybe not a great chance to go for it at that point. I didn't mind the punt at all. No, I didn't either. And you know what I love, though. Trent Williams, if you watch that play in slow motion. So it's not just, it's not just a typical like motion or like jet motion, right? If you watch all the if you watch all the forty-niners players, all their tight ends, especially when it's a running play like that, they arc their motion in order to get a little extra velocity going at the line of scrimmage and it's so cool. They just kill people with that. It's super awesome. And I just love it. And I think that'll be like watch next year every single team in the NFL is going to be teaching that this off season. They're all going to run that. That's sort of arced motion to get them more leveraged at the line of scrim. But yeah, and not that I saw this, but I can anticipate the complaint that why wouldn't you have just stuck Trey Lance out there and run zone read because you could have picked up the first down..

"I'm not trying to take credit away from him. I think he's feed helped on that play. Obviously he outran the falcons defender but like the lane was huge in. Someone's room to run. The safety should have had an angle on him and he just ate that angle up and beat him to the end zone. So i give Rigor credit for What he did on that touchdown pass by the way On that radar screen The eagles were for seven on their screen. Attempts for eighty five yards and touchdown. I was actually looking for stats on the eagles screens in general and the nfl From your got. It doesn't really exist so like no no official stats Onscreen passes or like. There doesn't seem to be anyone that tracks like pro football focus or anything like that. But i did find an article from Jeff mclean inquirer from last year. Which he wrote after the browns game last year which was ten games into the season and at that point in the season off the top. My head i believe. They had twenty four screen attempts. They only completed fifteen of them somehow for it was for like fifty yards or something like that or or sixty something yards or something like that An for an average of like three point something yards per attempt screens. Which and we all saw like that so those are just the numbers he like went through and watched every pass on the season found over screens and came up with those stats But like we don't really need those stats to know that like this game. Was this a year ago and the way that it worked so well in this week one game is is another really encouraging thing not just in terms of like the play calling and whatever but just that nick serianni was finding ways to deceive the defense and make those screenplays work and some of that is like the continuity along the offensive line. Some of it is that the run game was ron was working. Well some of it is that it's yeah that too and some of it is that it's easier to run screens when you have a quarterback that's capable of running because you have to pay attention to them so a lot of factors there and and they hit big with that Screen to to jalen raider. And of course everyone saw the block jordan my lot of had on that screen where he just nearly murdered a guy like i mean just wiped him out. And what i love about jordan. My lot is that he's like six eight three hundred forty five pound guy and like some guys are huge but they don't know it and they don't use their size and they're just extreme Ability to pummel somebody. But there's that's not happening with jordan. My like if he gets a chance to to bury somebody and shove their face into the tur- he will absolutely do it. I think he's sort of like an underrated killer in that regard. Because you like when you haven't been interview sessions. He's like a big teddy bear up there and he's funny. He's got the australian accent. And he's making jokes and blah blah blah blah. But on the field he is not that guy like he is looking to pound people when he gets a chance. Yeah that was a really good block from him and obviously he got a contract since before the game. Yes i believe not mistaken. His new average value about sixteen million dollars up to twenty depending on incentives and that puts him like seventh in the nfl in terms of annual Value by left tackles ties in with a taylor. Lewan obviously established left tackle for context. Now i mean i think it's a no-brainer deal right like because he's a young player. He's descending You feel really good about. You would rather pay him now than wait. When after the season he would be a free agent and then all the sudden If he doesn't sign with you and he doesn't wanna signing wants to test the market then you're competing with a bunch of teams for like a rare opportunity where there's like. A potential franchise left tackle available on the open market. Which doesn't really like happen all the time. But there's definitely going to be you know bidders for his services you know i'm sure like I don't know maybe. I don't know the giants of von from him. But you know there's teams out there that would have holes at left tackle. The deficit One of the one of the top free agents in the nfl last year or this past off season was trent williams and he got interest from other teams leagues the forty nine or able to keep them but they had a they had shell out like crazy money for him. He got twenty three million a year on a six year deal so for the eagles to get this done early. They get a big discount at sixteen million a year and for a player who's twenty five years old whereas china tremblay was a better player. Probably right now. Sure but He's thirty three years old. So like the value that you're going to get into a lot of being twenty five and and in the sending player as opposed trent williams whose game is likely to fall off in in in the very near future. I thought it was a good job. Bios in eagles having looked at soldier. Getting overpaid right crazy. When anything else on the offense to me before we wrap here. Yeah i i meant to mention Sort of piggyback on your Devante smith love and just like you said he doesn't let sometimes when he's making plays it doesn't even look like he's doing anything spectacular and a lot of that in this game. I thought it was. Because i mean what we saw. We saw on beat. The man coverage on his touchdown pass. But a lot of his receptions were just him finding the whole in the zone and thought he did a great job of that and you know what he's going to have to do that all year because teams are going to play zone like crazy against his eagles team because they have to keep like you run. The risk of just having jalen hurts ronald over you on pass plays have you have. Your back turned while you're playing defense. So he's going to have to find holes in the zone and capitalize on that and Week one was a very encouraging. Sign that he will have no problem doing like. That's sort of like something that like. You see like a like a lot of possession. Receivers bigger guys with the the the white catch trading and stuff like that. Make it easier on the quarterback to you know fit balls between zone defense or whatever. I don't think it matters like smith. Obviously the biggest guy. But he's gonna find going to be in the right spots just because he knows what he's doing and he's like you said he's going to be a volume receiver for this team. I'd be shocked if he stays healthy. And he does not lead the team by a wide margin by the way in both receptions and yards tone needs to clip that for the fence while depend debenham retro world her. nbc sports sets. "I mean, Trent Williams is a very good run blocker. He wasn't here in 2019 they've got are you can Samuel now who can both run? Um from the wide receiver spot there, probably deeper that running back Really most. ER didn't begin that season as a starter, but by any stretch, he really started to kind of read things up, and I don't know. I think it was November and December of that year. Not now. You've got him the full season show. I think that aspect can be really good. And I think the defense can be just as good as the 2019 1 and we have those two things. I mean, that's right. Right there alone. You've got a very good, very basic but very doable recipe for going to the Super Bowl. Matty. This is the question everyone's been asking. I don't know if anybody knows the answer, but I would definitely love to hear your perspective in an expectation. Are you fully buying that this is on some level, a two quarterback system And in a normal week, Trey Lance takes how many snaps? Yeah, I think it's going to ramp up as the season goes on. I was just looking back at 2012. And that was the plan for Kaepernick and Alex Smith, and he took one snap in the in the opening week. Kaepernick did and it was a It was a good one. It was a 17 yard run that set up a field all right before the end of the half, But the ensuing weeks was a little bit more a little bit more. And then, of course, the Smith concussion occurred and he got a full game and he ran with it. That was that game against the Bears, in which Kaepernick surprise everybody by playing show well. And then Alex Smith never started a game again. So I think it'll be the same idea. Um, you know, this week is already sort of a question Mark, and I think there's part of Kyle Shanahan. That love is the fact that His his number. One pick has a a an index finger injury to on his throwing hand, which would be appalling most of the time, but it was so minor, but it created another layer of cloudiness. For the Detroit lines to have to have to deal with that. I think at the end of the week Lance is going to be fine. And my guess is that you know she can love the fact that he's going to be able to. You know, Spring something on opponents that they're really not expecting show it may end up being Lot more than we're expecting. But my guess is that will be anywhere between one in six snaps. Okay. Sunday in in Detroit, Okay. All right. And by the way, the lions I feel like we're not even looking at them at all. They they pose any problems. Oh, yeah, For sure. I mean week one of the the problem, no matter who you're playing, and you know Dan Campbell, their new coach. I mean, I'm sure you played soundbites from his press conferences. He's just, you know, frosting with aggression and energy. Um, they're playing in a dome. They've got a quarterback and Jared Goff, who knows the 49 ers well, and you know, it's got frankly, you've got a chip on his shoulder after being slighted. In a major way, uh, in the off season, So, Yeah, I think there's a lot of sort of, you know, Chip on your shoulder. First game energy amped up. Uh, you know, indoor stadium. There are a lot of pitfalls, I think. Do you playing, you know was probably not on paper, a very good Lions team. But like I said, weak ones are absolutely bizarre. I've seen bad 49 ers teams, um, not only win in week one but really demolished their opponents and we want an instinct for the rest of the year, So I think that's absolutely a possibility. Sunday in Detroit Chip on the shoulder for both quarterbacks in in many ways coming into to this game, they were both slided in the offseason. Matty Great stuff. "Friday. August six twenty twenty one. Here's what's with your san francisco. Forty niners the guys had today off on thursday. But that doesn't mean there wasn't plenty to talk about. Speaking of left tackle. Trent williams joined k. Mbr yesterday and had a couple of interesting things to say i. He said some pretty high expectations for the team in twenty twenty one. I've been playing again for a long time. And i've been in many many logs roles you you know you know what gets me english like so we got one of the best defense in italy and then you follow that i would wanna best office italy. The better one of the best games best highly. I mean you you name it we every. There's really no weakness. I don't say that to say hey guys what we can do to literally answering the question as to as possible and i do like we. We have one of the better teams that we should do some special things. It's it's nice to hear somebody else say it. Because that's what a lot of us here at niners nation have been saying for a long time and the rest of the nfl world thinks. We're all crazy like i. Host the espy nation. Nfl show with rj. Ocho from bleeding. Green nation are cowboys community here. Espy nation and brandon league out in a bleeding green nation which is our eagles community. And they think we're nuts. And i'm telling you it's real. Trent williams believes it's real so that made me feel a lot better naturally. The longer trent was on it was only a matter of time before they actually asked him about the quarterback situation. And here's what he said. I don't really see a quarterback competitions this time but i mean trailer trails and outstanding talent. You know what i mean. It's hard to not at him. Doda to ball when he's run the ball you know and that's a that's a generation down so i mean we're we're lucky we're lucky to have. Qb one qb to be extremely talented. And i think they both have what it tasted to get us what we need to go. But you know like i say trae just turned twenty. One i don't think it'd be a good thing for anybody to try to rush him into being some. I mean you know. We got time to let the let them develop you know personally. I think that's that's what's best he. You know trade have has been developing at a very happy. Say that as well you know but but for right now. Tv they control. And i think everybody's okay with that man. That was a roller-coaster every time he said something. Good about jimmy garoppolo. He followed it up with a compliment for trae lance. But here's the thing i noticed. He used the word generational when talking about trae lance. Isn't that kind of the answer already. Like don't you kind of know who you would pick. You've used the word generational to describe one guy and the other guy is jimmy garoppolo. Like maybe he's been told not to say it. Maybe he just doesn't want to cause any trouble. But i feel like the worm is turned their and guys are starting to realize the trae. Lance era needs to start sooner rather than later. Chiefs Trade First-Round Pick for Ravens Tackle Orlando Brown
"Draft. We're talking the NFL. We're talking Ravens. We're talking chiefs. So why not bring in Matt Verte? Ram of fan sided here to join me to talk a little chiefs and talk about this trade that went down yesterday. But first and foremost met good afternoon to you, man. Thank you for joining us. That sort of snuck up on me at least history. We were on air doing our mock draft yesterday and kind of right before we kicked off and got on a got on air. The trade between the Ravens and the Chiefs and Orlando Brown heads over to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange. For the 31st overall pick. The Ravens will now have in this upcoming draft on on Thursday night and, ah, a couple of other pictures Well overall when you looked at this trade as the details, sort of trickled through a couple minutes afterwards, what were your original thoughts? When you saw the trade? I think obviously you and I would probably agree. It's a home run for Kansas City, Kansas City. Now takes care of their left tackle position. Long term. I actually Matt think it was a smarter and better terms of value, then going out and signing Trent Williams for whatever they ultimately I think, 120 million or some kind of crazy number that he ultimately signed in San Francisco for I think they end up with a player with I think the longer term future there in Kansas City and probably longer longer window of top and tear play. So what's your overall thoughts about the trade and maybe from both perspectives? My first thought was how the heck to Kansas City also gotta check around my thought is well, like I was done. In fact, Actually, I saw it when I saw out of jester tweeted out. Texted a shorts right away of with knowledge of the trade center. The these correct terms. I just thought it means great is out of his. I thought maybe there was a stereo type. Oh, no, that's that's that's correct. That's what it is. Okay. He's not going to be great. So i don't really want him on roster to be honest with you John ross on the other hand. I'm actually really excited like going to the giants and they don't really have much there right now. You know they have things extremely quiet and free agency. They clearly need weapons. I mean they gotta get deal. Jones more weapons or we can't even evaluate whether he should be starting quarterback or not. You know you know who. Who are we looking for in that offense are saying this in Shepherd are going to be the ask again like we've seen an end. Gram your epi near it while ingram. Yeah we'll see. We'll see even on the roster. I think they've been trying to trade him per year to ingram is good good player. But i'm just talking about as far as the wide receiving corps. Are we going to continue to go into the with the giants you know. This is basically three years where they've had these receivers together and they're not putting up points you know. And they're they're not getting better. These guys are not getting better at this point in their careers slid over john. Ross the guy. I guess i mean you're still talking about what a six round you know. Six paik basically has some good deep ball touchdowns but really hasn't done anything out of a few games in my opinion john. "As kenny golladay. You know it's one of the reasons. I like more jones. And whether reasons why. I've always been down on kitty dolly gala dates since people are really put up in that wide receiver one. Echelon you know. More jones is a discount every single year. I think people don't like him because he said he's not sexy and he's basically played around hall receivers on the other side every single year career. You are so on point with with everything you just said. It's so funny to think the he's played Aside aged green calvin johnson. Kenny golladay are considered true library ones. And then there's there's also marvin jones in the background as the wide receiver to fat He's always been viewed. There's so and so. Calvin johnson the future hall of famer. Oh and then. There's marvin jones for the occasional time he does. He doesn't get open. But this isn't all of the story as you're saying and last season we really got to see what could've done with golladay injured as arguably a top target end the detroit offense and he produced and almost reminds me of the robert wood situation. He was with buff. The buffalo bills for the first four or five seasons and people were saying he's a good receiver but he's never gonna be more than a wide receiver to will all of a sudden situation changes and he goes to the rams with a true chance to be the top guy there and he absolutely delivers a now. Everyone super behind But ever once once the guys viewed as a wide receiver to it's hard to get that out of people's brains for some reason until he elevates to wide receiver for one for some team. So i'll i love those points that you just bought up. I'm gonna go quickly through another couple of headlines. The raiders added. John brown to their squad was cut by the buffalo bills. Speaking speaking of the bills they signed emmanuel sanders who was cut from the saints. John loss signing signed with the giants some small name receivers g think any anything out of these three guys in their signings your job. Good signing gives veteran receiver to that very young Ridership record you know it's gonna be interesting. I really wanted to see roads running more underneath routes last year and he kinda got thrown into like the deep rope when williams opted out for the season you know and so i i hope Hope that means that he gets them play the slot when they move John brown to the outside the job. Rouses is as bad as good of a defers. Any perceived league still even at his age. So i thought roast profile better on underneath route coming out of college as i thought it was kind of crazy to For a while people copy them to john. Ross which we're gonna talk about it in a second 'cause i didn't think he was just a speed guy. Thought he wash him. He did a lot of damage on the ground at africa. Short passes at alabama You know he'd just run through his own so i liked assigning from a raider standpoint. I think it gives them another weapon that they use. "He's now making more than the top. Offense paid highest paid offensive lineman david backyard. His contract paying him more than a offensive line's contract has ever been paid for through the entirety of the contract. One hundred thirty eight million. No no offensive. Lineman has ever surpassed that amount within a single single contract. And there's just a lot of things about this contract that's really eye-popping and it shows you that the forty niners had a big party and kind of shoring up trent williams and making sure that he would be on that team of the law in the long run. Yeah it's a it's a it's a tremendous signing again. I'm a little bit side. You know the colts at all cap space. And i wanted curtis curtis samuel and You know one of the top tackles off four to go just to double down on what we do best in. We didn't get either one of them. So maybe these guys are a little bit overpaid Maybe you know as. I think the colts would have gone after some of these guys if they felt like they're worth the money but you know for my own train business. I i think that they both these guys are are really high caliber players. We talked about and You know as far as the lyman you know. This is a huge boost for for san francisco like we talked about last episode. They they really want to establish run a know whether it's with the receivers whether it's with the The the running backs you know the full back they got the fullback sign now There's talks about alex mack. Go in there as well so you know one of our headlines. Alex matt go there. And then you get a williams. You're looking at a really good a line and it's just gonna. Indicate that the forty niners are gonna try to move on from jimmy garoppolo and get a young bookie quarterback because we all know how important it is for a young quarterback to have a good offensive line. These are all lumers but there is a chance that hey maybe the forty niners. Maybe that's the thought process behind this signing. Which would is a potential rumor. It's out there as i talked about. I think they're just trying to help the offensive line because they know they're gonna need it for the future and they know how critical as to win it but some people or or making more out of it than what she is. "Thomas ended up having a big impact. Now this past season but with curtis samuel. Now i think mckissic's gonna get less targets. Logan thomas is gonna get less targets and there. They won't be having to force the ball to certain playmakers this upcoming season because besides maclaurin they really had no great receiver on that football team You know one more interesting thing. is you know. Mckissic is a former receiver. Who now playing running back you have. Logan thomas was a former quarterback who is now playing heighten. You have a curtis samuel who is running back in college. converted to wide receiver. Who now plays will hybrid role between those two positions And then you also have a tony gibson who was a former receiver in college. Now be converted running back so so clearly. Washington is in the position with football Mind state desk crazy. All these versatile playmakers that they can really use in multiple ways. I'm excited to see what ron rivera comes up with for that offense this upcoming season to me. That was one of the best value signings of the entire free agency so far agree courtesy. Jamil's getting paid less than a guy like corey davis who only really had a good year or so in the league since he came out maybe one to two good years and i think there were some other names even kendrick bourne got a big Candidate nelson agholor is now make hay j thirty million dollars a year for the patriots. So it's no question that curtis samuel is the best out of all those guys. So why is he getting paid less. I don't know but this is a ridiculous bargain for the washington football team and he was the twenty fifth best receiver. Mpp our last season twenty four best receiver in standard scoring last season so he is a high end wide receiver to arguably into that low rains. Ribisi super one for some of these teams got to give a little bit of around applause to the washington football team for being able to pull that off. Go ahead and talk about another headline. "Yeah, so it's going to be a tricky calculation. I remember talking to common policy just a few months ago about the 94 40 Niners, who, at one point had, I think $182 of salary cap space, And somehow he was able to string together the most decorated free agent class of all time, And he said that that they were dancing through raindrops was the way that Common policy term did in the 40 Niners will be doing some dancing through rain drops again this offseason if your ownership is willing to pay money up front in the form of a signing bonus. You can. You could do some maneuvering around the salary cap it it all comes down to the willingness of ownership to pay money now, so if they do restructure Jimmy Garoppolo is contract That means that they convert However much of his base salary they need to convert from 2021 into. You know, a one time check at one time bank account deposit right now when they do it and then push some of those salary cap, get back. That's something that the 40 Niners have said that they're open to doing. But they're biding their time for the very reasons that we talked about. I think that they're exploring all different options right now. I don't want to commit to us, You know, singular path and they don't have to be. You know, they're They're under the cap right now, but they don't have to have the cap situation completely resolved until three agency starts and that starts on March 17th. So I think that we'll see some movement. Around late March. Once that starts signing players being under the cap when they're not in new guys, and that's when you start looking at throughout the Loew's deal, and, you know, quite frankly, that's probably when you have to start making a decision. But firm decision on Garoppolo because if you need more money, and you decide that Restructured contract and obviously he's your guy. I just don't think they're at that deadline yet, but that deadline is coming, and they'll start moving some money around. And I think that even if they do, keep him, they can, you know, run that that restructure that I'm talking about, And they could probably sign a couple. You know, key names. And you know Corey Lindsley Alex Mack that the center position is one I harp on a lot. But you can work around it if you're willing to pay right now, And I think this 40 Niners ownership over the past couple of years has shown that they are willing to dish out some cash, and they probably will have to show that willingness again this offseason. Let me hit you with a quick one before before you go, Who got to get out of here? Chances that Trent Williams percentages that went Trent Williams gets to free agency. Here's the 40 Niners that that would not be good news for them. I think it's Only 30%. I think the build will get something done before then, And even if they have to pay a little bit more than they're comfortable with. Texans Colts and then the road games. Obviously in the division, and then you have bears lions Jags. Titans eyes well, and I think it did is there to set everything I might be? One game in Cincinnati is a site to be determined. I'm looking at it from holer. Today. There's gonna be 17 games in the 21 season, so They're not sure about Cincinnati. That's the only game but you make it land on their schedule. Now, uh, Atlanta is on their schedule. So you don't know the homes with you got the division games. Obviously, then Green Bay, Minnesota, Houston. In Annapolis, Atlanta at home Road games again Division Plus Cincinnati. Detroit, Jacksonville, Tennessee Philadelphia. When you're in division where you're getting your getting four games a year from Russell Wilson and Cuyler Murray, you better be able to break down and space and Make tackles, so that means I don't You watch any of that Notre Dame team this year, but they got that kid Korma Woo Suk or Amoah, who's an undersized linebacker who's chest so fast, so instinctive breaks down in space. So naturally so effortlessly and just is, it just reeks of a guy was gonna make, you know, double digit tackles at the next level, and I know they have other needs and linebackers, not one of them. But, man. If you're going to get four games against two of the fastest quarterbacks in football, it would be nice if you had some guys who could bring these guys down in the open field consistently. Coram. Oh, it's gonna be hard to pass. So just just the thought there But obviously, linebacker, you know, maybe the most one of the most loaded spots on this football team with Warner Greenland disease barely gets on the field. It's who they're going to re sign. It's who they're gonna draft, but you know, I would hope that we're not talking about left tackles in tackles in general. For this team because they just took McGlinchy top 10. They just gave up a third round pick for Trent Williams, who was great this year despite his age, and I would I think that if you're gonna put it in order, it's figuring out what the quarterback is it Z looking at your defensive backfield and seeing where that is, it's a pass rusher opposite BOS It's It's looking into the secondary. Your safety's especially losing tart. Maybe more is that guy and you don't have to dress that. But Your interior offensive line. Who's your center? I mean, if you're looking at the offensive line, you probably have three positions that you may have to look at. If you can't re sign Williams, you're looking at center right guard and left tackle. So like there's a lot for this team to do. And in addition to that, it's making sure that you're not his injured. I mean, I look I like a guy like most, but he can't seem to stay healthy. So you gotta dress that position. Is a lot for this team to do. Yeah, and you know, and I said it before there before the game in the pregame show is that I would hate to be John Lynch. And I mean, it's a lot of tough decisions that have to be made and you don't have, And I think he said it in his interview that you know, in the past, they've had some money to kind of go out and do some things. And this is gonna be the first off season where they don't have any money, really money to go out and kind of fill some of these positions, so He's got to make some serious business decisions, but I think that tackle I think Sinan Trent Williams is huge. I mean, dependent. No, no matter what quarterback you have back there, you gotta have a new offensive line is going to protect him, and I think it starts return. Williams You know, it's funny if you could get the greatest quarterback, But if you're you know if the party's in the back field because you couldn't sign Trent Williams then then you know that quarterback who's his confidence and you're not getting the full You know, bang for your buck because they're losing confidence, and they're not playing well. So yet to me, it all starts up front. You look it offensive line win rate this year and who's right up there? The top of the list is the Buffalo Bills. And now they're saying you were watching their young quarterback develop. All was he developing because he's got now you know Stefan digs and he's got a line that can protect him. And so the 40 Niners have the receivers and I think they feel like they have the tackles. I know they're Niner fans going, though. McGlinchy I get it, but I think they feel they have the tackles. I don't think you're going to see them invest in an offensive tackle if they can re sign Trent Williams, But after the year the Williams had bust out your checkbook because he's going to command Top tier dollars and this is the peroxide, tough negotiator and it'll be very interesting to see if they can get him signed before the market opens. Because if not, Oh, my goodness, then Then suddenly that becomes your number one priority. You can't go anywhere without a left tackle. So I would say Sign re sign Trent, trying to figure out a way to reconfigure McGlinchey's body may be invested in interior offensive lineman. But that is not a high priority. I think the high priority has got to be the past rusher in the corner in the quarterback position. You've got to get those three things right first. That would be my assessment of it. Alright, guys.
