"You won the rookie of the year You were a top five draft pick. I think it was third overall. Come in that draft with Andrew Luck. Or maybe the second overall, but whatever it was, and so I get the confidence, But, you know, I guess that's part of why he got to the success that he did. But after all the injuries that has transpired, I don't think you're going to be the face of the franchise for any team any time soon. I don't on Also when Teddy Bridgewater got hurt People probably didn't think after he was a backup in New York for like that all season and then got to the Saints. Probably no one ever thought he was going to make it back onto the field and And start five games with Saints last year, when all five games and then get a lucrative and I mean lucrative contract from the Carolina Panthers. And that 2012 draft It was luck one Griffin, too. You remember the third overall pick wasn't addressed. Cleveland, Trent Richardson. Oh, right. And then Trent Richardson got traded to the Colts for a first round pick. So you know Facebook has ah, the memories and it pops up like you said this eight years ago or something like that. A few a few days ago for a few weeks ago. I saw that that report. Trent Richardson getting traded to the cult of the first round pick, and I guess I tweeted about or not even tweeted about it. I Facebooked about it. I posted on Facebook. You say I Facebooked it? I don't know. You booked it. I booked it. I booked it. I thought booked it on the matchbook. I I I was actually a fan of that train. I thought it was a good trade by the Colts adds a freezing cold Take. I think everybody did. And then I remember. He had that great year with the Browns. You go to the Colts, like all they needed was a running back. And then it felt like you just never heard from helping an ever again. It was like unbelievably disappeared off Planet Earth. But you didn't hear from him again until what the a F or was that the XFL and I can't keep track of all the crappy football leagues that are around. The first five pics of that draft luck RG three. Trent Richardson, Mac Khalil Justin Blackmon, who went to the Jacksonville Jaguars. I'll give you the top 10 here. Morris Claiborne went to the Cowboys Bucks took Mark Barron out of Alabama. Dolphins Ryan Tannehill. Panthers Luc quickly and then guess who was the 10th overall pick Stefan Gilmore at the time to the Buffalo Bills. There's some some bad picks here, but then there's some really good picks. John Terry Paul into the chief's at 11 Fletcher Cox to the Eagles at 12. Michael Braugher's went to the Rams at 14 and Michael Floyd. Go to the Cardinals. He wasn't all that great preserve in Sao Player. Seattle the Jets remember the Jets took that year. Defensive end Oh, um, Quitting Copal. Right boy, Another disaster pick. Vernon Gholston quitting couples those of the Jets. Vernon was in that draft, but Dre Kirkpatrick to the Bangles at 70. Andrew Luck's Retirement Highlights the NFL's Growing Problem
"Know what it wasn't long ago. I think it was last week when two weeks ago when mclovin said hey how about this poll question is andrew lock more likely to be an slight disappointment or hall of famer and this is when the ankle injury came. I remember it was the calf and then the owner robert say said i think it's an ankle and then i started to think there's more involved in this. There's more to this story. Sorry ben just glynn from the calf to a high ankle. I don't even i still don't know what he has but we know it serious enough that he announced his retirement and everybody's got an opinion on this. His decision to retire was a shock to the system for you know the the entire n._f._l. Nation when people say boy oy this is the most shocking football story we've ever heard i mean like new. No no no no how about we start with o._j. Simpson michael vick aaron hernandez. Those are shocking stories. Andrew looks different cat all right he is. He went back to college to get his degree. He could have left after his junior year. He went back to get his degree in architectural design. I believe he there are guys who are or football players and then there guys who play football most our football players j._j. Watt is a football player. Should he still be playing football. No no not at all but it andrew luck is a guy who is a guy who was good at playing football. I don't know if he's a a football guy and there's a difference in that but that doesn't mean he wasn't good at it or didn't love it. I just think that we're we're so unfamiliar. Oh you're with an athlete who uses logic where you go. What are you doing. Most football players in pauley had the analogy. Let's say you have a rock rock in your shoe. Most football players will continue to play in fact. Stop down on the rock. Where is andrew luck goes. How about. I just take the rock in my shoe. I mean it sounds logical. He just took the rock out of a shoe. Football players will tie the shoe differently like they'll somehow find a way. Hey i'll walk differently who care i'll take madison. Shoot me up. Whatever andrew lucked just said. I'm gonna take the the pebble <music> out. He's removing football from his life. Everybody has an opinion on this and when he started rattle off the list of injuries it makes a lot of sense but it's hard for us to imagine and by the way athletes are just commodities. We've moved on from all of these athletes. We don't care really don't care eric. Dickerson joined us in los angeles when we were out there and here's one of the great running backs of all time any looked great. I said the kind you look like you could give me a couple of carries. He said people don't realize the toll that this takes on goes. I slept in a reclining chair for two years because i had neck and back injuries. Nobody cares about eric dickerson's injuries. Nobody cared about jim. Mcmahon's injury his health. He thought about killing himself. We move on and andrew luck realizes that and yes he got paid paid and the reason for people to be upset and how do you do this to your team. And how do you quit on your team. I understand those emotions. I really do but i have to look at this and say andrew. Luck did what andrew luck thought he needed to do. Is it inexcusable to you know oh colts fans. Yeah i get that. I don't think he's saying boy. Watch what i'm gonna do. I'm going to set up the colts for failure now. I don't think i think that he had to process this. It took a long time. It's something you do you do well. It's your identity and maybe he doesn't want that is his identity and can you get away from this. You know the guys who had all the surgeries. I'm seeing all of this stuff here. Everybody's saying how do you do. I understand all of those emotions. Russians here but andrew lock did what andrew lucked thought he needed to do. If barry sanders was a quarterback and he walked away we would have abba bigger issue with what barry sanders did at age thirty-one calvin johnson at aged thirty. Jim brown age thirty. What are you doing walking away from the sport. Guess you've got a contract extension. There are a lot of questions. I have ranted you luck in this situation. When did you really know and when did you let the cold snow and what is the reason. Is there more surgery down. The road like you went through shoulder. You had and i put some of this on the colts by the way ryan grigson in particular the former g._m. What did i say for years. You have this investment. It's like having this unbelievable engine but then you have a car that's falling apart. You traded for trent richardson. You didn't use any lyman you finally went out and got quinton nelson and what happened. Andrew luck had the best season of his career. He had the fewest sacks. It's not something that takes a whole lot of thought. Hey how about we have a good offensive line. Chances are andrew. Luck might be able to play play a little bit longer but so many injuries and then you start to get down on yourself and you get in your head and you don't wanna go through it and and i look i couldn't play the game. I've told you if you ever watched a game on the sidelines. You never let your kids play. It is violent. It's more violent than you think because when you hear it you can close your eyes on the sidelines just listen. There's no way you go yep. I want to play play. I know we're macho. I know we all wanna play through pain. I did stupid things with my knee and my shoulder waited thirty five the years to get my torn rotator and i'm not even a pro athlete. I have an artificial knee because i was stupid when i played this guys out there and they're taking shots at him. He's getting hit lacerated kidney. He's got shoulder. He's got yeah. I understand all of these injuries. Do we want him out there. Yes because it's about us he. What are you doing to my fantasy team. Hey what you doing to my colds. You're you guys got a chance to. I understand hold loose things but this is something that we don't understand an athlete who says i'm gonna take a logical approach. He's a guy he's got a flip phone. He's got a book club. I mean he he's not your normal guy. Hi and we can't understand this. He's newly married. We can't understand this because all of us would go. I killed a play and make that kind of money and be a starting starting quite yes. This story is about us in how we perceive. This people didn't play wanna tell you they would play or how oh you need to play or. What's wrong with your your soft. You gotta take a step back and andrew luck. Doing i see all of this twitter chatter. Oh this is going to stay with him forever. I is very sanders. A quitter calvin johnson a quitter. Is jim brown a quitter right i. I haven't heard that i'd never heard somebody say. Jim brown's a quitter. Barry sanders quit walked down on the <hes> the lines how can you do. I guess andrew luck is a quitter but i'm guessing will move past this calvin johnson. Is he a quitter or see smart. I don't know i just i saw this reaction this vitriol that andrew luck how dare you do for this. He walked away from his team. I get i get it. He gave up on a sport. He excels at but no matter what people say. I think we can all agree. Andrew luck was outstanding when he did play and wishing luck and no pun intended with his life after football.

"And Mel it's time it is time for our hot list. Hot list. Right. Of course, you know, what we're going to talk about here. Right. We're going to talk about the NFL draft. And Mel we're gonna run down our biggest draft busts in the history of the NFL draft. And we'll start with your third guy who you got. I'm not going guys failed due to injury Nick St. that men's even RG three that still playing with the Baltimore Ravens. I'm gonna go though to running back Trent Richardson at three the easiest transition should be running back to the NFL immediate stardom as a rookie, Trent Richardson, they trade up a spot to get gave up some choices to Cleveland Browns did in the two thousand twelve draft at Rancho luck an orgy three went one two. Here's Trent Richardson going to be that big time running back. Well, you're later is traded to the Colt for a first round pick. He doesn't get it done with the colts there. Let let go his wave goes Oakland. Baltimore briefly af af this year. So Trent Richardson to me, the number three on the board bust of all time now before we get into my bust. Mel your overall thoughts about the run. Back position. Are you a guy that says, hey, listen, stay away from the running back position in the first round. Or do you think it depends on the talent? And if you get Todd Gurley you gotta Todd Gurley. Yes, you go by the radio the rating is high enough where that running back is in line with the pit when the picks made in your coach as panning that table your offensive coordinators. We got to have this guy is long as the grade is in line in that top ten to fifteen you take the guy if it's a late one type situation. I'd wait till the second round. I'm not big on first round running backs less. The grade is elite and Trent Richardson case it was and I had no problem with that pick. And the thing is Trent Richardson, he was a bus with two teams. Number one. He was a bust in Cleveland. A first round pick to get him in a trade after bust that in Cleveland. So that was kind of a crazy situation. I don't know you'll you'll see that often and the history the NFL guy doesn't get it done early in his career at running back with two different teams on the honest here. Honesty, sometimes not the best policy, but I didn't mind the trade by indie when they made it and men egg on my face, my third guy. Mel is jamarcus Russell Oakland Raiders number one pick in two thousand seven from LSU seven and eighteen record throughout his career. And of course, when we look at completion percentage now Mel we want around sixty five percent in the league. You look at Russell's. It was fifty two percent was the completion percentage. Eighteen touchdowns twenty three picks. He was done after the two thousand nine season in maybe mail. The worst of all his contract. Sixty one million dollars thirty two million dollars guaranteed. One of those contracts that made the NFL change the system when you take about draft slotting in the payments at. Get now with the guaranteed money much much different world. And I think many guys can thank jamarcus Russell for that. No doubt about it. And that so this is the hot list Dari and Mel ESPN radio ESPN app. Sirius XM channel eighty I am Nick cattles infidelity this morning. All right Melkite for junior. Who's your second? Biggest NFL draft bust. You just the audit with jamarcus Russell. He's my number two, Trent Richardson three jamarcus Russell two..

"So specifically, you know, benefactors potential guys could take a leap forward. I think for net one of them again. Just because of all right. He's gonna push pass three three hundred touches me. He's healthy. And on the field. I. I worry about is the next Trent Richardson there, I say interns. Efficiency. I mean, it's been pretty bad. I think if you look at my projections, he's probably dead last in terms of yards per carry projections across the board, and I'm pretty conservative with those. But what you have to look at what he's done so far runs against heavy boxes. He gets a lot of you know, a lot of opportunities against the those stacked boxes and at the goal line. And that that's a factor there, and he also has not been affected between the twenty. So I definitely have some concerns there. But again volume should be good in this offense. And there should be additional scoring chances with falls under center. D- Westbrook is a guy who's of interest in this Jags offense. Keep an eye on him. I think he's gonna come in undervalued. He was pretty good in an affective. And he's seen a lot of volume so far in two seasons in the league. But again, they were dead last in offense touchdown ties to your and right? And that didn't give him much of a chance to score many touchdown. So keep an eye on him and then fire zone Christian. Kirk second reliever is the guy I think you need to monitor and David Johnson. Honestly, if you false around to end up being Steele again is officially. As quietly been pretty poor the past couple of years, but he still feature back in an offense that could be could keep him extremely busy and should score more touchdowns disease. You know, they've talked a lot about cliff Kingsbury talked about him getting him the football. So keep an eye on him to. Yeah. It's not like his injury over the past two year. Three years has been you know, leg related or you know, hamstring or knee or foot or ankle. It's been you know, he dislocated his wrist. And that's that's a pretty freak injury in terms of injuries. And he was healthy and twenty sixteen healthy last affective last year, certainly on a bad team with Ann Arbor offense of line, but you know, state healthy. So not a guy who I think in some ways could be underrated. Like, you said relative to you know, where he was going this time last year. He would have been what a top three top four top-five back. Yeah. No question about it. He's gonna fall little bit. You're clearly going to see a different top five or six at running back. And then he's gonna fall into that next year like cook and mix in guys mix. I like a lot is a guy that can make a leap, but he's gonna fall in down into that conversation should go. Probably around two and there's an opportunity there. We'll see we'll see we'll see if the Cuyler Murray if he lands in Arizona, and and the cliff Kingsbury hype starts to build their lines a little bit better. They added some pieces. So we'll see if Johnson builds up some hype by for now, I think he he's looking like a potentially undervalue back. Absolutely one thing I wanna talk about and this is not necessarily addressed in the column where which Cussing here, but something new brought up and your projections. Something Matthew berry brought up in his predictions on Twitter, which really fascinated me because I didn't at first glance agree with it. But then the more think about it the more. I'm kind of coming onto coming onto your guys line of thinking here who is your number one wide receiver in terms of projections. Heading into twenty nineteen. Yes, Matthew, and I both have devante atoms. So that's that's what you're referring to. I think the consensus may end up being the Andrei Hopkins, but it's going to be a close call. And here's the thing you start with touchdowns with Adams right is nobody is more of the past three seasons. Us twelve ten and thirteen. Minutes legitimate. I mean, he gets ton of volume near the end zone is Aaron Rodgers who is the captain of making making low. What you want to call them low percentage throws work..

So Jordy Nelson will join us coming up a little bit later on Michigan state head coach Tom Izzo will join us as well. Russell Westbrook goes twenty twenty twenty one Bryce Harper goes back to DC in homers be a f- suspended their season looks like they're done. Russell Wilson says I'm gonna give you deadline. I want a new deal tonight rockets clippers Spurs in the nuggets those are just some of the headlines back to the alliance of American football after eight weeks games. The af suspended its operations yesterday. They appear to be the latest football league to fail despite lofty expectations, and it wasn't for a lack. Of effort, they had big names involved. But those big names were really coaches, former NFL executive Bill Polian. They had a few players you knew Trent Richardson Christian hackenberg. Johnny manziel. We got to see him for a couple of weeks. But the failures is really a stark reminder just how tough it is to form a second league. And it spring football. We love our football. But the NFL has become twelve months. It's not just a season of football. It's twelve months, and you you know, you didn't get help from the NFL. If you can't get around two hundred and fifty million just to destroy the af yeah, kick kick a couple of Bill our way, look Birmingham iron celebrated win they clinched the playoffs. They're going fans ago. And what the fuck Trent Richardson just thought he was getting his life together. Probably had some child's. Spurrier Spurrier you hit. I feel robbed. Isn't it doesn't make any economical sense? Because. There were there were fans there, right? I gotta run out the stadium. But there are enough fans at a ratings. We're actually better than their fan out like certain fans came out the teams. TV contracts. They had. I just don't understand what's the point of the fucking eight weeks. Then like, obviously something happened. Where I I mean, they had to have an investor fall out and then done in came in. And that Don was just in disguise. But I mean, it's very very just it's a shame because the league it was fun. Yeah. You hit quarterbacks. You know what? Now, it only it only. I was a little worried that the XFL is gonna have to compete with af. So now, the XFL is going to get all these teams and all these players, and you know, welcome to the XFL. We'll say I don't like the XFL. I liked the. Sure. Yeah. Though already tainted. I mean in this in this political climate, you really think they're going to get the cheerleader. Cam back come on. That was the best part of the exept. That is a good point. But come on Johnny football, just joins in ratings are doing decent, Johnny football. It's the curse money man's out. It's been a tough run. "If they can get him up to speed the Memphis express. We'll start Johnny Manziel at quarterback could be next weekend. Could be the week after that when he plays really watch. Do you have an appetite for Johnny Manziel? Do you still have intrigue or is there still some? Some poll some compulsion to watch him play football. The alliance of American football is hoping there is in the Memphis franchise, which they're playing games in front of a few thousand people. They're hoping the same thing. What's interesting to me is that the San Antonio franchise. Which had the territorial rights the geographic rights to Manziel. Which is something used to see in the NBA or the NHL. Let's how the Canadians dynasty was so great. They were able to get all those Quebec born players. In the in the fifties. Sixties and seventies. San Antonio at the first crack at Manziel. But general manager Daryl Johnston. Yes that Daryl Johnston moose Johnston. Cowboys fullback, Fox Sports broadcaster. Said he was fine with the team's current quarterback situation. San Antonio is quarterback by Logan Woodside Toledo product. Who has four touchdowns and six interceptions? This year. I mean. That's not good. And if you are. There are a lot of AM fans in San Antonio. If you're in San Antonio, Texas in your a minor league football team that is getting mediocre to below average quarterback play. What does it say about you? Or maybe better yet. What does it say about Johnny Manziel that you pass up? On an opportunity. To sign him. And so I'll watch man's and I haven't been watching the alliance of American football. And I want to figure out if America feels the same way this morning. Do you want to watch his next game to see what he has left? Do you want to see the star of the man's Zell redemption tour? Eight five five two one two four CBS. That's eight five five two one two four two two seven. Andrew Phillip pony on CBS sports radio. Let's talk to Don in Charlotte. He's on the pony express. Don. Patrick's Day, thanks for taking my call. Sure. I heard you were in Charlotte last night. Now, let's get to Johnny Manziel. I'm excited about this. Memphis. You've got somebody. I'd invest in this team right now. This is going to be his comeback to the NFL now next week might be too serious for him. That's what I think. But Johnny Manziel. Look. Why are you? Why are you? So why are you so confident I mean, I I want to watch them and I'm rooting for him. But I don't have the same degree of confidence that this is the beginning of his professional football turnaround. And you sound like you're convinced we're going to we're going to see him play in the NFL again someday. Okay. Okay. Let me give you a couple of points from Cleveland that that a lot of people don't realize. What quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in history grove is ninety nine yards and scored a touchdown. Johnny Manziel white quarterback. Ryan for hydrogen forty five yards from scrimmage in all Cleveland Browns history. Johnny manziel. It was off the field that got him that got him in trouble. Johnny Manziel has talent. And this is going to be exciting. And thanks for being Don, you got it, man. Look, I mean, it sounds like we got a Johnny Manziel historian or family member listening to the show. I don't think one isolated Dr. Or one rushing performance makes a career. I don't I don't even know if I need to repeat that or say that it's pretty self explanatory and self evident. The tail and is there. To play in the NFL. The talent is there. There are roughly eighty quarterbacks who are drawing an NFL paycheck. If as his life figured out off the field, and I have to put the if clause on that. I'm not sure I'm not really completely. I don't completely understand what happened in the CF L. I have not gotten that full story yet. Why he was kicked out of the league? The alliance claims that you know, they vetted it, and they looked into it. And they did a background check. And they were comfortable with taking a flyer on Manziel. But honestly, why wouldn't they? They got nothing to lose. Why would they care if Manziel parted on bad terms or relapsed or went back to his partying ways? The lines of American football just wants. They just want an unknown commodity. They want a name in their league. They want a player that fans will buy tickets to watch and fans will turn on the TV to watch. That's. You know, this isn't about altruism or this isn't about necessarily giving the most deserving players chance. They got to sell tickets and make money. And so I think man Zell gives them a chance to do some of that. Finally, I don't think Trent Richardson who was the other big name in this league. Gather brown. Reject. I don't think Trent Richardson is putting twenty thousand fans in the stadium. But man Zell might. And especially if he gets a cooking, and if he gets going, and if he shows flashes of brilliance, and has the attitude and the cocksure attitude, and the devil don't care attitude and starts flashing money signs, and that might rub NFL people the wrong way. But it'll be just fine for this league. I like seeing people who throw who through their career out the window, and they have nobody to blame. But themselves figure it out have their kind of light bulb moment, come to Jesus moment. And then have a second chapter. Why are they don't maybe they don't entirely make good? It's doubtful. It is highly doubtful. That Menzel delivers on the promise of being a first round pick. He blew he's never gonna make it up to Cleveland. But we've seen other guys flame out and come back. In other sports and. Have some level of success? And I think with Manziel, I would not. Right now. I gotta be honest if I had to make about well. Johnny Manziel start another NFL game. My answer is no. If the question is Willie ended up back on an NFL roster that is harder question in one. I at this moment. Would probably say yes to I think he'll be as long as he doesn't do something immensely stupid, which I can't completely rule out. I think you'll be in an NFL training camp again someday. And he is enough of a name in a celebrity to get me to watch his first game. And then it's on him. If Bansal stinks in his first game. Chances are good. I probably won't watch. Again. I'm not really interested in watching. Johnny manziel. The train wreck. I've seen that too many times. I want to see him go out in this league and throw for three hundred yards and three touchdowns. Do you? Will you watch Johnny football. Now that he's in the alliance of American football the draft isn't here yet. Maybe college basketball, isn't your thing. Do you want to watch? Johnny Manziel play football. Again. Do you still have interest in his story? Yes. Or no. Eight five five two one two four CBS. That's eight five five two one two four two two seven on Twitter at CBS sports radio. My personal Twitter is at the pony. Express. Pony spelt, P O, and I. Got it. Looks like Manziel sounds a little bit like Manziel. Has a lot more on his plate and as much bigger expectations. And you're going to hear from him later this hour, but right now, it's time for the latest sports update with Anthony. No. Sports flash. All right pony. Welcome.

"Is awesome. As holding out. Hold on all the hope they want to. I'm going to play football pretty cut and dried right there. Murray gonna stop trying to hit those sliders and start reading those deep on third Natan thrown a football. Yeah. No major league baseball draft is a little bit different than the NFL draft the NFL you're kind of. You're selecting the be the you're you're opting to be there. Unlike in major league baseball draft, you they don't really talk to you beforehand, like work for planning on taking you with ninth fake, whatever it's going to be they do for the first round kids too many. Kylo Murray before they drafted him. I don't think so well about his football love or about baseball about baseball the game permission to play. So evidently, they football. Said oh, the kid just took roles gonna play football. I don't think they were fully blindsided. I'd be interested. The football team. Of course, they had to know that he was going to play football. I believe. And if not they really miss the boat. I mean, look, it doesn't it doesn't matter. It's a first round pick have been based in baseball, sometimes these kids pan out sometimes they don't like the as without that big budget. Disagreed. You. Gotta pop on. You have to hit on your first round. You have to in the NFL major league baseball. If you miss, you know, it's okay. Maybe you get them next time. We're maybe you're saying next is your second round or or rounded. Be eighty three. Whatever might be turns out to be turned down. Your star in football is seven picks mess. It up you really mess. It up in the first round. Player when he was picked. They really messed it up. Trent Richardson continues his career revival in the alliance doubtless it. He's not exactly his yards per carry is not going to get them. Invite back the NFL lease. He's a goal line back right now. Yards per carry. But he's got six touchdowns on the season. He had three more this weekend. Three this weekend lucky. He's a team's defeat. And he's great around the goal line the Birmingham iron code by. Tim Lewis have been doing fantastic as have the Orlando. Apollo courts coached by Steve Spurrier geared Gilbert has been amazing eight hundred sixty or so yards. He said throwing the ball. I think you're going to have him on the show later this week. We talked about the af the alliance as the dispel development the league quarterbacks and for offense lineman Garrett Gilbert is the example of getting it, right? Not.

"It puts you right back in the middle of football season. Well, the a f is coming up again this weekend are you excited? So it's NBA all star weekend. It's also the af with four more games. Right. So there's eight teams play every weekend for the next ten weeks. Well for the next nine and CBS sports network as well as NFL network will be carrying games this weekend. So coming up on Saturday legion field. How about that in Birmingham, Trent Richardson, and the iron we'll try to go to know as they host the Salt Lake stallions. And then, and of course, that's cool to you guys Richardson's a former Alabama star, and they already had a shutout to start off their af campaign. That's one of your games coming up this weekend. And then also on Saturday the Arizona hot shots at the Memphis express, plus Sunday, the Orlando. Apollo Steve Spurrier and the San Antonio commanders the Atlanta legends at the San Diego fleet. So one game on TNT young Saturday. And then a pair of games on NFL network at another on CBS sports network. So I will be interested. I know the ratings won't be nearly as high as what they were for last Saturday night the debut on CBS because that was big CBS and people are more likely to be flipping through channels and encountering football on big CBS, then they are to just be flipping through channels and realize that there's a f- games on the NFL network or CBS sports network. Those are not even carried in everybody's cable package after a special tears for them. And a lot of cases. But you can also watch on CBS all access at TNT. That's well, that's one of my favorite weekend channels, especially when it's carrying a Star Wars marathon, they do frequent Star Wars Narayan's there. So the week to af ratings I think we'll be. Be interesting. This particular run, right. The these ten weeks may not depend so much on ratings because of everything else that's going on the buzz about the league supported Scott from former NFL veterans longtime, head coaches, just just in general the novelty of it all, but they've got to be able to sustain a business model at some point. So they need to gauge how much interest there is now some of that will will be dependent upon ticket sales and they're playing primarily at college stadiums. And so as long as the ticket sales and the gate is strong, then likely the league can survive I've seen some predictions, though, even data lofty who's a good friend of mine who is a former NFL QB, of course, spent over a decade in the league is been on the show a bind, she's a college and NFL analyst. Now, he says the league won't survive past twenty twenty just that the model's not sustainable the quarterback play is not as good. So we'll see we'll see how weak to does.

"This is what this is what the other half of the fan in the NFL has been waiting for is something like this to come back is a good is that part of the okay? So they're they're going to not throw the flag on a big hits on a quarterback. They're going to let those plays happen. Is that good for the game? Well, that's a very good question. I think it's good for this game. I think it's good for af. I don't I don't ever think it's going to trickle down into the NFL or trickle down into collegiate sports. I don't think that's going to happen. So is is it good for the game? I don't think it's going to directly affect the game as we see it nationally. But I think it's good for this game. I think it's good for this league. I think this league can make a run with big hits athletic guys going out there lame their bodies on the line for for another steak another shot at the NFL. So is so as we watch that. So this is kind of an outside the box, and you know, version of football. So this is hey, we allow the things here that that other league that the National Football League has taken away for player safety concerns. The we're going to allow is that there is that the hit for them is that their audience. I think it is because I. I don't know if people are going to watch because unless you go to the games, there's not a lot of minor league. Baseball games being shown on television. There's a lot of people turn it. Tune into those. Yeah. But if you can have if you can have a minor league football that is different enough that it quenches the thirst for what some NFL fans might want. But don't get during the NFL season that is something that could possibly last. But if you're just going to do an NFL junior. I don't see it lasting all that that long. Now, we'll see where this goes as as the weeks run out here and in week two will will it. Stick long and continue to play just as good. I'm not sure. And and down the line, it only it only time will tell but in the immediate future. You gotta say this this first week. It was a great start for the af. Yeah. I honestly didn't know that it was starting this weekend. When I started. I didn't. I mean, I was looking at stuff yesterday. You didn't know was the af thought it was the FAA. I thought it could have been that. I thought it could have been some other acronym. I listen, I don't know what I saw the highlights. And then as I'm looking at lights there were three things that the jumped out Christian half hackenberg mic'ed up. Should've been makes for great television. A lot of beliefs but made for good television the hit that on the quarterback that the helmet pops off and the league celebrates that. And that's what we're just talking about. And. I think those are the two things that kind of Trent Richardson thrown up a natural Trent Richardson stat line with two touchdown sixty yards and just under three yards a carry. I mean, it's it's use still have some great names in this league. And when I say, great, the names are great. So the people that we know, and there are people that we've watched people that we've critiqued before in the past. So it's fun to know some people that are in this league. Is it an avenue to get back into the league for a guy like Trent Richardson, those numbers? The touchdowns are good. But the yards precarious good enough for to open those eyes. But these are opportunities maybe for those who are on the peripheral to to stay in the eyesight of the National Football League or to get an opportunity if they haven't already had one..

"Tell me you're listening talking. Twenty minutes out of their pro football talk live. It is a Monday edition. We've spent a lot of time talking about the f today, and look I I really don't know how much we'll talk about it over the course of the year. And and one of the realities is this. What are we talking about? I can't remember the names of some of the big players. Who was the guy for at score touchdowns already? Forget Rashad Ross am I close. Yeah. Five catches one hundred three yards two touchdowns. Trevor and score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter yesterday. But he still had a very Trent Richardson average of like two and a half yards per carry. I think somebody predicted yesterday. The for the year had four hundred yards on three hundred eighty nine carries. Say that we're trying to get him on the show. Hopefully, he's not listening. Yeah. Thanks for that. Good luck. Good luck on your job booking guests after I've offended him or trying to get some of these af people like they reached out in advance and offered to some guys who were playing last night. And my attitude was let's see how they play before we commit to them. Like how was your was your game last night where you had four carries on four yards or four yards on four carries? Have was that fun for you? So I mean, we, you know, we're being selective about who we want and we'll see if they give them to us. They should they should want to they should want to publicize the league we'd like to get the ball cochon ball. Coach can take ten minutes and call in and talk about scoring forty points in his debut. Over the Atlanta legends. But here's the thing before people are going to watch these games. There needs to be star players quarterbacks running backs defensive players receivers whatever and there are players out there who currently are employed by the NFL that would that would attract attention. We posed that question. Already have eighty-five responses in five minutes, which player would be a f- have to sign to make you plan your weekend around watching his team's games. Colin Kaepernick is going to be the most popular response. Now, I don't know that they invited him to play. Did they he probably doesn't wanna play in the af because it's eighty thousand a year. But why not ask? Right. Why not make the offer? If nothing else haven't they learned from the all the gimmicks that minor league teams do when they offer. Everybody a contract, you get an AP story out of offering them a contract, and they're talking about the af, hey, we've we've reached out to and cabinet can offered him a job, and he declined that would be news that not be news stats. Oh, we'd absolutely be talking about and they should do it. And who knows maybe he'll say, yes. Terrel owens..

"In there. The ground. We're gonna let it stand. So she's going to agree with the call on the field. We're gonna we're gonna we're gonna. Wait a minute on second. We've got an elbow down. Scott it and touch help. We're going to overturn this in reverse this to catch in the end zone. I four by Orlando. Possession. He texted in elbow hits. Always in control in his arms. We've got to score. That sounds like they were guiding the lunar Lander in. That that may be before your time. I remember when they'd have like the live Houston NASA feeds very very good though. I liked that transparency that transparency. What's that sets? Needs that. That's exactly what the NFL needs that should be next season. They should have that. This is the the opportunity that the NFL will have to see things that the af and the XFL next year will do and take the things they like why not? There's no copyright on those concepts. You don't have to pay the af for thinking of it. And I've noticed that the relationship between the af and the NFL is we are closer and closer to the opening weekend. It just felt like there were more and more tentacles between the two leagues and I've actually asked both leagues what's going on here. Is there an investment that we don't know about the NFL said, no investment, just nineteen games are going to televise and yada. Here's the thing though. And I'm going to go back and track the traffic that we generated over the weekend by writing about the af it could be that people just read whatever rewrite, although I don't I don't I don't. Oh. I think that's a dangerous mindset. I. You have to give people what they want. You can't give them something. They don't want. If you give them something. They don't want they'll they'll consume it for a little bit. And then the gophers, but they want somewhere else. So it's a tough balance. How many stories do we write about the af? And I let myself be guided by what I thought was interesting. I mean, they were to have a quarterback controversy in San Diego between two guys. I'd never heard of before Saturday night Trent Richardson was back yesterday playing for the Birmingham iron. Things that hit my radar screen is a fan are things that are going to be posts at PF but the opening weekend look. The numbers were impressive in relation to the NBA. Anytime you go apples to apples three letter network on the same night football versus another sport and football outperforms it that's good for football bad for their the sport. And when it's an upstart mid level at best football league with a bunch of guys. No one's ever heard of going against the NBA head to head and primetime on a Saturday in the football wins a very bad sign. For the NBA. And I saw I think it was lebatardshow trying to trying to pooh-poohed the af numbers by clapping back to the XFL debut XFL was a different beast altogether. First of all, it was before the entire TV landscape changed nine point seven million watched the opening night game in two thousand one. It was two point nine million for the af so little less than a third for the af eighteen years later and the XFL was hyped relentlessly for months before it debuted months. Bottom line is a f- beat the NBA in an apples to apples comparison. If I'm Adam silver. I am not happy about that outcome. The NBA should be able to lap. The now will the af sustain that's going to be the real issue. We'll talk a little more when we come back. Let's get into some of the specific games to the extent. I can remember who played and the names of any of the players who were involved, plus whatever else we think of as it relates to the opening weekend of the A F and the real question of whether or not he can sustain itself through ten weeks of a regular season more PF to live right after this..

"Mike Golic junior. I get it. I get that. It took me a minute early. It's four thirty two of my clock. But make sure you do that because Valentine's as three days Thursday. Well, that's not up. Holy smokes. George football this weekend. Hit me up. I'd love to know what you thought of the alliance of American football eight teams four games over two days, Saturday and Sunday. It's pro ball. Played in Orlando. They played in San Antonio. They played in Arizona. They played in. What am I missing Birmingham? Crowds are bad. Thirty thousand in San Antonio. That's good. That's a good thing. Birmingham yesterday. I guess eighteen to twenty. It's what it is. Right. Did anybody think that legion field in Birmingham will be sold out to watch the Birmingham iron take on the Memphis express now? So you get what you get. Right. They've done this. Well, they've done this. Right. I actually thought. Somewhat ridiculously starting the league literally the week after the Super Bowl was too soon. Come on. We just went to all of college football all of the NFL. Are we really ready for more football people were watching at least the first week saw the overnight ratings numbers that first night out. It was on CBS. It's not always going to be on CBS, the NFL network CBS sports network, but on CBS Saturday night. Got a two point one. It's a good number. How good is it thunder rockets but that game? I don't know what the rating would have been on that game. If the rockets had gotten out to twenty six point lead in the thunder came back, a lot of people might have turned it up. But thunder rockets got a two point. Oh, the American a note the allow get this, right? One of these. They alliance of American football outraged thunder rockets Saturday, but it's the first night. How are they drawn us to head coaches? Good group ahead coaches here. Steve Spurrier, Dennis Erickson, Mike Riley. Rick new Heisel, Mike Martz, Mike single, Terry. Have the league is named mica just realized that. Good names. Good names. I was working last night with Jonathan Hoda Dickerson on ESPN radio ad, we're watching we've got it on our on our screens in our separate locations show, Chicago, respectively, and we've got the game on our screens, Memphis and Birmingham. Oh, Trent Richardson, remember, Trent Richardson, he was a bust with the Browns at a bust with the colts. But score a couple of touchdown. But the game takes away two zero. It's funny. Tim Lewis Birmingham, head coach. It didn't get a Gatorade bucket, not the arena and not the alliance. Somebody came up scored a Gatorade bottle at him. It's pretty funny, but Mike single Terry man, the look on his face like he was chasing down Joe Montana. Right. Like he was ready to hammer. I mean, this guy was oh all the intensity would have ever. Imagined would be mustered by Mike single Terry's team got shut out Jonathan said, I would not want to be in that locker room. I'll just walk to the bus. Thank you very much guys. Want to win. Great coaches. Good names. They're doing this. Right. I'll give the alliance discredit. In the pre game show. I watched a little bit of that Saturday leading into the league. You know, it's a pre league show that a game show. It's the first one. And you know, Kurt Warner was was front and center talking about it. Think it was Rodney Barbara I saw front center talking about getting back to the NFL. That's the goal of this league. It was like the old XFL back in two thousand and one where you know, this is different. This is better. Yada, yada. You're not competing with the NFL. Heck, the NFL NFL knows that the NFL network is showing these games this year. Getting back to the NFL understand who you are understand. Why guys wanna play treat yourself as a minor league version? Right. It's it's triple A baseball. It's the G league. It's the it's the American Hockey League. It's the triple eight version of guys who want to get to the really they accepted. They know who they are. Now, they do some things. Well, Doreen, okay. With you first or last ESPN radio ESPN app. Siriusxm channel eighty glad to be with you. They do some things well in this league. And the alliance of American football for instance, shorter play clock. Let me as the weight football's going anyway, right? Who's using an entire play clock? When you're not trying to kill clock to win a football game. Instant replay reviews. Interesting you hear the replay official explaining to the referee. Why he was overturning or confirming a ruling on the field. Fewer commercial breaks. Right. That's a good thing. Now. You want inventory? You want advertisers step in and say, yes, we want. We want to pay to have our commercials on your broadcast. I'm not sure who's banging on the door of the alliance of American football yet. They certainly hope that eventually at some point they will. But I think we know this. I think we are. We are still ready to watch more football. We don't get football out in the alliance's realizing that now next year we've got the XFL coming in as well. And who knows how many leagues can can continue to. Take throwing football at us until we get tired of football if we ever as a country guitar football. I don't know. But I'll say this. There are areas they could be better. I think their biggest challenges. Nobody knows who the guys are. I mentioned the head coaches because those are the biggest names they have there's a few bigger name players say bigger named Aaron Murray was a quarterback at Georgia for four years. He actually didn't even start his team's game. But Atlanta team was so bad. He came in. And and play they got whipped. Mentioned Trent Richardson Garrett Gilbert is a quarterback people. May remember SMU? I think he started at Texas. There's a few names, but you know, you're coming to watch football. That's what you're doing. Doesn't matter. The names of the back of the jerseys. Maybe you'll root for a certain name on the front of the jersey. If you live in one of those towns, but you're coming to watch football. But. By TV job is on the SEC network and Saturday night. You know, we've got seven SEC basketball games. And we've got an end of the night show called SEC now that we do and and I was hosting SEC now, and I hear our screening room, which is where all of our our production assistance, and socio producers are editing highlights and I hear them. Go nuts because there was a hit and one of these games somebody had on that was like as good a hit as you're going to see. And it was the name is Sean Washington at the time. We didn't know that any hit San Diego quarterback. Mike Burke, vici might remember him from Arizona state. In the hit was massive. What are the guys at screenings like, Dr you gotta come see this. You gotta come see this. I'm about to walk out to the set. We're going to do an our show. And it's like, you gotta say this. And I'm like, okay. All right. I didn't see it in live. So let's go watch a hit my go. My god. Dude knocked his head off Berkovitch. Fortunately, it wasn't actually as head. They came up with his helmet came flying off clean, it somehow at least was deemed that. It's first and last ESPN radio Dari nowkhah with you. So I'm sitting here saying we got to get this on the show. I know it's an SEC show. But this'll be the best video all night. All right. Somebody look at the roster. Tell me this guy. Tell me the guy that delivered the hit went to an SEC school. How can we tie this into the SEC somehow, someway, we have to get it on the air scrape video. So now, we've got one guy looking it up. We don't know his name. Sean, Washington this point. So I say look him up. He plays for San. Antonio you Google San Antonio roster. You think you're getting there Austin or you get the Spurs? Roster. Get UTSA football roster crap. San Antonio's roster. San Antonio's name. So now, we're scrambling. What is their team name? We don't know this at this point eventually will figure it out. What's their team name commanders? I think is what it is commanders roster. You look it up. He goes down. I'm like number fifty four goes down looks at up to four Sean Washington. He would. Oh my goodness screening erupted in plus we could get the highlight. And it makes sense. It's an SEC school. So am I tell my producer, Brad? Do there's a hit in this game. Throw it at the end of the show. We gotta get it in. We gotta get this. So he goes got to cut. We're checking on it. Make sure we can do it. Guess what? CBS had a rule of this. And they do this in the NCAA tournament. I understand one hundred percent. But the rule was until all of the broadcasts or off the air of the alliance of American football. Nobody else was allowed to even run a highlight. And that my friends is a problem because with a new league you want as many eyeballs to see any part of it as humanly possible. Why would you what we call in this business embargo? Why would you embargo? Any use of a game any highlight use of a game on any other network? Now, maybe this is inside the beltway. Maybe you don't really care, but I'll tell you this from a marketing standpoint. You want your football league on as many networks as humanly possible to get it out there. A little irritating. It was a little irritating to me Saturday night that we couldn't get the single best hit. I have seen in a football game in weeks on our air because they told us. No, no, no, no, not to all the games wrote. Not a good boot. It's bad. Look. It's bad move. People wanted to see Sean Washington hit Mike Burke of each if you haven't seen it because you couldn't find it somewhere. Go watch it. Holy cow. I don't even know how this was legal, but it was legal and it was beautiful. Beautiful. All right. We ended up talking a lot about something else that night, by the way on SEC. Now. I don't know if you. Heard this you all remember the name Tom green got Marquette to a final four with Wayne wait to Indiana turned around. He made some statements that I'm going to read to you. That no coach of eight collegiate sports team should make. It's a bad bad way to start a tenure what Tom Crean said. And how big was the bus his team was thrown under Doreen? Okay with you. "Holden with the play by play from the alliance American football, Trent Richardson, a name that you know, and certainly in Birmingham, a popular name, the former Alabama running back until the Birmingham iron are we're in a game on Sunday against still getting used to the names. I did give it a try. Absolutely. I did. And I checked out the various games on PBS and also happy to see one on NFL network tonight. When I was getting ready for the show. It's just it's. It's a different type of football because it's a developmental league where they've only practice for months. So the quality itself at this point is not great. I would expect it to get better in the case of the Birmingham iron versus the Memphis express. It was a twenty-six nothing shutout and so locally. Of course, there would be a lot of excitement and there were sixty points scored between Arizona and Salt Lake. So you've got a lot of up and down Orlando with Steve Spurrier as head coach also had some trickery they were calling it the Orlando special. Right. So there is a guy who does it need to be coaching day in day out month in month out is taking some time off was doing some analysis for TV, but it's coach for so long that he can step in and make a difference immediately. But I'm still chewing it still chewing over it. Kind of try it on for size to figure out whether or not. It's more than just minor league football because you know, what? I don't watch minor league baseball. I don't watch the D league or the G league in in basketball. We got a lot on our plates throughout the sports calendar. But if people are interested in it, then I'll pay attention. Obviously if the United States of America has sports fans who are big into it. Well, then it's going to be a topic on the show. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. I will say the lawn to his brilliant having Kurt Warner as part of the CBS pre-game show. Our own Tiki barber. Who knows who the hell? This guy has time. He's on Broadway in kinky boots. He obviously does a five day a week show here on CBS sports radio. And also now part of the broadcast of the A F on CBS this league.

"It does avoid and it's live. Well, look it worked in the launch. I'm very curious. I'm very curious because I honestly don't like most of the times, I have an opinion on something. Or I think, you know, I'm I have no idea. I have no idea whether this is going to work or not. They've good signs for last night. I have my doubts for other reasons. So I'm kind of fascinated by how well it actually works. If it works and to track it, I mean today is going to be the day. Don't don't take anybody seriously today. You know, don't take anybody there. People are going to go run wild with this NBA thing that that's doesn't mean anything. Here's what you can take away. The launch of the af was success. I think that's. Fair to say they could not have asked for a better launch. What that means for that their product going forward that is the open question. Because there's a lot of things we could look at the debut of or the first thing of or whatever and feel great about it. And then they fizzled out or whatnot. Let's go to Jason and Tuscaloosa Jason you're up next here on CBS sports radio. What's up? Jason. Hey, how are you? Good, man. How are you? Not too bad heading up to Birmingham. Check out the ir. Yeah. The did they play today. The Birmingham iron. Yeah. We got Memphis coming in town express, the Memphis express against the Birmingham. That's never sentence. I thought I would say before. But I just said. You know, I'm I'm excited. Birmingham. Has we sold forty thousand season tickets. But just from that just for my general aspect, you know. I've heard people comparing the af two the XFL and the NFL is backing the A F showing the games on the NFL network and so forth. Ticket prices for for the af outstanding. I got season tickets, but you can walk up and get tickets for fifteen to, you know, twenty bucks. So it's family friendly. They're doing a lot of interacting. Outside the the stadiums for kids and stuff like that. But I think what what's gonna make it very reliable, especially here in the south. When these rosters are filled with local college kids. Everybody's familiar with an Birmingham. You have Trent Richardson, you have several other Alabama Auburn players Memphis is littered with Tennessee players. Corey Cohen jumper pick our those type of guys so it's more relatable. But then if you look at like the second game today, you've got Arizona versus Salt Lake. You know, that's kinda the Pac twelve country, and they're not enthusiastic about college football is people are here in the south. So you know, I think it's going to resonate more than this region than it will out west we go market you somebody else from Birmingham call me yesterday and saying how he was excited to go to the game. And that resonated with me later Jason when I was watching because of the the energy I felt from the crowd in that game. And I remember that caller yesterday. I thought oh, okay. Maybe they're onto something with where they put these teams because I was genuinely surprised that was something that I was surprised by. I think I guess I wasn't. I shouldn't have been surprised by the broadcast quality because they're putting it on CBS is major network. Affiliations aside. Whatever CBS is a major reputable network. It's a product they're trying to launch they're going to put a quality broadcast around it. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised by that. But I still was I guess because I didn't have that Brando level of awareness with the af what I was genuinely surprised by was the crowd. They were loud. When I I don't know that was just the microphones or whatnot. They were loud. And I would have thought the crowds just more like, okay, we'll go check this out. Not like, we're San Antonio fleet fans, and it felt like San Antonio fleet fans is that I have that one right, please. Let me have. I don't think so commanders San Antonio commanders fan. Is there a fleet the San Diego fleet eras close? Damn we're actually maybe the joke works better than I got it. Wrong sanitary San Antonio commanders fans. How much did the rating mean.

"But what can you do? He's got no alternative and this rule is aimed at protecting guys like Trevor Lawrence who's bigger than Cam Newton protecting him against possibly being injured while practicing or playing football against adult males. And that argument got turned on its head a few years ago. Once it became obvious that Nick Sabin was bringing washed up former Alabama. Players back to practice in pads with these eighteen year old kids. The moment you bring brat back Trent Richardson at twenty seven to practice with your freshmen and sophomores who supposedly are being protected against the evils of having to face grown men in football practice. You've gutted the logic of your argument. I wish they would just be honest about it and say we're doing this to ensure that there will be a sufficient number of college football players of a sufficient level of talent. We don't want to open the floodgates look at what happened with guys skipping meaningless ballgames. Once one guy does it more and more do it. So once one guy leaves after one year, more and more will, and I'm firm believer that all these guys are all eighteen at least eighteen they should have the right to go and the team should have the right to draft them. Trevor Lawrence should have the right to step into the draft pool right now and any of the thirty two teams should have the right to say we want to take him boys. Only one year out of call. I want you out of high school. He's only got one year of college football. It's fine. We'll take him. We understand. We'll take it. It's a big boy transaction. The person wants to enter the workforce and the workforce wants to accept him and an artificial rule shouldn't matter figure how ridiculous that is thinking how unfair that is. He's too young to be making that kind of money. Yeah. Tell that to the ten year old movie star kids make money all the time. Kids make millions all the time. This some little kid reviews toys, that's swimming in it. He's Scrooge mcduck, and he's eight years old. Oh, really? We can't have that kind of capital flowing to youth. Although they don't make that argument. They know that arguments even flimsier than the we must protect them from themselves. Look, I'm a firm believer. So you went out and got Quinton Nelson, which I said he might be the best player in the draft. Any might be. But I'm not giving you credit 'cause you went out and said, oh, you know, let's go get offense lineman. I'll give you credit that you drafted some good lineman. But you know, having offense lineman to protect your franchise quarterback. And go figure who came up with that approach. But Andrew luck is played great and the Texans with those great defensive lineman didn't sack him. Yeah. It's interesting when you give quarterback time it can be pretty good. So that's what it was. You gave Andrew luck time. He's not getting hit Mosey sack less than twenty times this year fifteen times. That usually equals success. If you're not gonna put hands on my quarterback or hit him or he gets injured. Now, the colts did the right thing. They got some draft picks. They used them wisely. They went, you know, because normally you're not gonna take linemen that high. But you know, the NFL scout who told me Nelson is a bad, dude, man. Like, he's bad. He first team. All pro. He's a bad, dude. He's he's he's the real deal. All right. So you bring him in. You're getting a guy you plug in for the next ten years that I mean, that's what you want. That's what Andrew luck wants. I think is about the third play of the game and cloudy bit for a pump fake and kind of jumped and Quinton Nelson got into his ribs and just pancaked and they showed it about four times. Yeah. No, no. But they MAC is really been the surprised because I think those about a month ago when I was hearing, you know, maybe the colts with lady on bell. And the colts seemed to have a good running attack and MAC is cheap labor on Bell's not cheap. And I thought okay, you know, the colts are taken the right approach here. The not spending a lot of money. But as far as Seattle goes, you know, do you have a running back you can count on? The philosophy. They ran the ball kept running the ball. And I kept thinking at some point. They're going to go. Hey, russ. We screwed up this game plan. Can you win the game fourth? Sorry. We did it again to you. And it never happened. I would have I want the best player on my team to have the ball in his hands. And they were taking the ball out of his hands. Yup. Oh, the colts are paying their star running back Marlin MAC five hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Yeah. Six forty next year because you can you can find a running back we've seen that you can find him. Now, the talent is finding the running back, but they're out there. And do I want you on bell on the colts answers? Now. I'd rather spend my money wisely on other positions there. You got a really good defense sneaky good defense not sneaky anymore. But you know, that that's a sneaky good defense. Would I like another weapon for the colts? Yes, if I'm Seattle and Russell Wilson. Yes. You always want another Wepener too. But you know, they've invested in before in running backs and it didn't go. Well, you got to beef up the offensive line. And the defense is in is threatening. As it once was, you know, you got a hall of Famer and Wagner, but it I mean, it's just not the same as it. Once was it's nowhere near the legion of boom. Let me see Eric in Virginia. I eric. What do you have for me today? Hey, five ten stout. One fifty. Welcome back. Good to have you back start with the worst. I guess since. That's we'll be better. Hey to see the Seahawks lose. But the injury to that kid, man. Remember the Louisville injury with the kid with the way and seeing Hearns. Yeah. Yeah. Man that was that was tough to watch, thankfully, they didn't really replay it that much, but you know, Dotson British the him and his family but best of the weekend..
