"But you're gonna win more games than everybody else. And you gotta do your job, Bill Belichick will never ask you to do something. You can't every player that goes there comes back and says, what I love about New England is they know what to do. They ask you to be great. At what you do. They didn't ask Wes Welker to go deep. You're a slot receiver. They didn't ask them to block much you're a slot receiver get open. And so, what are, what is the message if I am a raider scout is a character guys, we don't care about character guys because in the draft, you told you wanted character guys that you bring von Burfoot routine cognitive. Those are not what you call character guys. And then we got rid of our Amari Cooper, who was a great guy. But you gotta 'Antonio Brown who could be a great guy, but he's a dramatic guy and we're not gonna pay anybody. But then you pay Trent Brown more than seven New England Patriots defensive lineman combined Trent Brown makes more than seven of the New England patriot offensive lineman. I think he almost makes. More than the entire starting ofensive line. He makes a little less and they've already brought him in and then I moved into right tackle, which is the second, most important tackle in the NFL after the left tackle. So you not only he was the highest payed left tackle in football now. He's an absurdly high paid right tackle, and this is a salary cap league. So I thought you weren't going to pay stars mean if you're gonna pay stars just keep Khalil Mack. I mean after the quarterback I can argue the second most valuable guiding football's the pass rusher. So I mean it's like we're not going to keep Khalil Mack. Can you imagine being a scout for the raiders, and you do all this homework and you go to the raiders, and you say this kid from buffalo, the college program, you've never seen on television? The best player in the draft is him and you draft him and he's the best player in the NFL, and then a new coach comes in and says, you know, that scouting department that work in the guts and the courage, you had on Khalil Mack. We're trading him. Well, isn't it? Our job to find gems in the draft. He didn't play Alabama. He didn't play Oklahoma didn't implant Michigan. He didn't play Texas. He played a buffalo nine people go to their games and the scouting department, you're not giving a lot of confidence. So all these guys are getting really great players. That's their job. You're just send them out of town, but you'll bring in other guys, it's a mess. You got to send messages..

"So, you know, hopefully, some junk leaders also can if us, you know, reinvigorate the guys have already been to that level and get us right back to where. We're we're one of the upper echelon in the NFL. Yeah. And you know, I know when we core this yesterday, but it didn't upload. We didn't really you turn Brown. But you know, I sort of like to talk about him, you know, being the right tackle or the raiders this year because it's more of a run run blocking scheme. I mean here he's XM pass Bacher at the position in twice teen when he was in them Cisco playing right Paco. He was a hop. Six pack. Bossing has blacking efficiency going to ball, focus. He had nice the past like rating and. He was also, you know, one of the better tackles in the league in twenty seventeen. No. But. Having him as right tackle, you know, instead of left tackle. Because a lot of. Complaint. Was that you pay a left tackle that month? You don't pay right tackle them. But on the other hand, you know, other people argue that any this unaligned matters in any vision Lania focus on and why why or why is that not a good move having Trent Brown on the right side. I know, you know, of course, again, towing phone your echoes those side of things where do you fall on that? You know, calling players always get paid. Sometimes people get. They get caught up some of the wrong in on a theoretically, the reason why the left tackle more than the right? Tackle is because most quarterback right ended, which means the line side their natural blindside wing your docking. Because normally when you're in any kind of drop you're going to kind of put your shoulder field. And then you're right shoulder. Right. But are going to be your show. You know? I mean, they're going to be they're going to be hind you no one no one really back square too often. And so because of that tend to be your blind spots gonna be on your list sites. That's why left tackle more is more for a quarterback from the right side, nor because side that their body faces. And usually see the rush kind of on their hands before the pressure gets to them is there is now actually watch football games. You know, that's not always that happen. You'll see time quarterback new smash right? Right in the face where you're like, how did he not see that guy coming directly at him? And that will definitely not his life. So to me just like if guys quality player to look back film, the, hey, the amount of work that he's done office, align that matter thing is what you're saying. With office of Ryan, it's not like it's just when I I need new five dollars guys really make it happen Sergey across the board that that makes the difference have a weak link only strong link having restraints in in the off line. You know, it's just gonna be detrimental of the whole. So, you know, he's quality guy gets dumped on. Hey, the man. I have no issue. Yeah. Because as you said earlier, you know about their car before he went down with injury raiders talked about as the baby flew the Super Bowl in point four mean in point sixteen. You know, they talked about as a favorite before it went down. And you know. You need line to stay healthy a needed line to be good in oriented to.
Cardinals trade QB Josh Rosen to Dolphins for picks
"I wanna get back to the Josh Rosen thing for a second from the Miami perspective. So Miami sitting there Chris grayer, the general manager says all right? I'm going to trade out of the forty eighth pick. And then the sixty second pick and fifth round pick. That's gonna get Josh Rosa. Okay. That's what I'm giving up for Josh Rosen about it. From Miami's perspective. They're like all we have to give up for a guy that could be the future of our organization could be our franchise quarterback for the next ten to fifteen years. All we have to give up. You're telling me is the sixty second pick. And a fifth round pick next year. Oh, yeah. I'll do that. And then the other elements this for Miami's perspective, you realize that basically has paid Josh Rosen toll contract almost right? So Miami's on the hook for six million dollars Arizona's paid ten million. So they're barely paying Josh Rosen any money. So this is like the best of both worlds for Miami. Miami's like okay, we didn't have to give up much to get him. And he was a guy that went tenth in the draft a season ago. A lot of people had him ranked higher than any of the quarterbacks in this draft. And by the way, we had to give up nothing to get the guy. We gave up the sixty second pick end to the second round pick and a fifth rounder next year. That's all it costs us to possibly find the future of our organization, and even if okay, even if he doesn't work out who cares. We lost a second round pick at the end of the second round really third round pick. If you look at the end of the second and fifth round pick, and he's only costing a six million dollars. That's all it costs us so Miami. It was almost like. Wait, really, this is this is all you want. Yeah. We'll do it. We'll take the chance on Rosen. We like the player, we'll take the chance on them. Now. The one thing that does give me caution with Miami is Josh Rosen set up to succeed there because you look at it. And we mentioned some of it earlier, but pro football focus ranks offense of lines and the NFL and last year the last ranked line was the cardinals. They were thirty seconds. Okay. And Josh Rosen was playing for the autocar does. He had no protection. He also did not have many people to throw the ball to not named Larry FitzGerald. The offense could never really figure out how to work under Mike McCoy, and then Byron left which now the thing that he benefits from in Miami is he's got a better coaching staff. There. Chatto shea who comes over from the patriots was the receivers coach there. He takes over as the offensive coordinator, and Jim Caldwell who's been in the league forever. He takes over as the quarterbacks coach. So Josh Rosen will be better coached in Miami than he wasn't Ariana. But some of the problems that he had an zone. Are going to repeat themselves when you're looking at it seem like the Miami Dolphins. So I wonder from a personnel standpoints the coaching will be better. But from a personnel standpoint if Josh Rosen isn't putting a position where he's going to have the same type of issues heated last year because if you look at pro football, focus, how they rank Miami's line they ranked Miami's line thirty first in the NFL last year. So the only team to Miami was Arizona. So Josh Rosen goes from the worst line in the NFL. According to pro football, focus to the second worse line in the NFL. And if you look at it they did draft ticket in the third round out of Wisconsin, Michael that apparently can play all over the line, but you on James left. He decided to go to Denver side a big time contract. Now, you do have new line coach in there as well. Pat Flaherty, I believe offense of line coaches. Some of the most underrated coaches in the NFL. There's no explanation for how the patriots continue to have good offensive line play other than Dante scar Nekia because these guys go elsewhere like Nate sold or any stinks. The guy. Not good anymore. And then they break in guys that perform at a high level like Trent Brown was a cast off in San Francisco. He goes to the patriots, then becomes the highest payed left tackle on the market. What he signs with the raiders? Okay. So offense of line coaches are highly underrated in terms of their importance to the team. So maybe a new system there in Miami. Maybe they can protect Josh Rosen better. But I just wonder from Josh Rosen perspective if this is the right landing spot from the personnel. I'm happy is getting a new opportunity somewhere else. Because clearly it would have been a mess there in Arizona if they kept him there. But in terms of what Miami has to offer Josh Rosen. It seems like he's not being put in a situation where he's got to be able to have success. And that's the issue. I have because last year we saw the guy was completely beat up. He took a ton of hits last year. And it seems like based on what Miami has in terms of. Devante parker. Kenny stills doesn't have a lot of weaponry. Then they had a poor offensive line last year, it appears they're going to have a bad offensive line. Again. I just wonder does Josh. Rosen actually have a legitimate chance to actually
The Raiders are about to get a whole lot better
"With you last year, I knew the raiders looked bleak. But they've added Trent Brown. Lamarcus Joyner Antonio Brown. Tyrel Williams vont has Burfoot and you're gonna add three first round draft picks, George if you didn't know the raiders last year, you definitely know who they are this year because they're going to draft three guys that could make this team and I'm not saying near a Super Bowl contender. But they are definitely a playoff contender. They got better. I think after this draft and if they get a quarterback. Oh,

Lebron James, and I just like I tell kids I coach what do I need to do to get better? And I are you going to listen to me. So yes, why would never tell you to do something that you couldn't do LeBron James can do this. That's why would said that because he has done it when it Miami. He went to riding his bike. He got leaner. There are other times where he balked up because of the style he is capable of doing if he wants to be the greatest player ever he's going to have to win another championship. And he's going to have to come up with a different style. To build a finish off his career. All right. Steven seila. But later on in the show coming up could lady on bells football, still be you can say. Back here. First things first so last season trim Brown was the starting left tackle for the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots this off season he signed a four year deal making him the highest paid offense of linemen in the league. Trent Brown joins us now Trent good morning. Thanks with us to the show van. Thanks yet. Uh? Thank you. Well, it's such a first of all it's great to have your as I mentioned before. Definitely the biggest guests, but you're the soft giants sitting here, you're so quite and sort of understated, and it goes along with your story. Seventh round pick to become the the highest offense of lime in NFL history. How much does that mean to you? It took me to get here. Didn't take it for granted any opportunity was. Definitely granted with open arms. And here we are where we were just ten months ago was a very different place, the commentary to be fair, you were in my mind. One of the biggest question Mark for the patriots solar leaves Isaiah win. They draft pops his achilles. And it was a relatively unknown player. Seventh round pick plane. Cisco Trent Brown is going to be protecting. Tom Brady's blindside how much of that conversation where you aware of. And why do you think you were able to thrive? So I would say almost instantly once the season got going. I think it was a part of the organization that really believed in you confidence was through the roof, and I was able to play my game. We did things that were played into my strengths. What what were those things? What do you mean? By that this how we prepared the Ren game and the past petition I think earlier in the season they relied more on a quick passing game. Allowing you to get very very comfortable. Also, they didn't give you a lot of hill guy that young a late round draft pick thrown into Trey with Jimmy Garoppolo typically you would think that tight in. They will go left side and tied in would be next to you know, that's not what New England they put you on that island. And you earn your keep. But as the season went on it seems like that they thought that you might be a better run blocker. And then you guys just started leaning on people in mass and people did you see your confidence? Once you start the season playing in that system gain momentum as the season went on most definitely. And I feel like we started clicking off soon. These at the right time as a as a whole group though ninety we do. Well, go ahead. Jim is there pressure on a New England patriot offensive lineman. To make sure nothing ever happens to Tom Brady. I mean, you hear all these stories that this organization goes through this quarterback. How much pressure is on that line? Whoever's back there you to do your best to keep them up right in the playoff for on. What was so remarkable was the number of dropbox Brady had without getting hit..

"And that was before they locate Vegas. We saw what happened with the Vegas Golden Knights when they came to Vegas the inflation in the lines on a hockey team. Imagine what it will be like with a football team. Antonio not the only Brown. That's heading west Trent Brown offense alignment of the patriots last year. He also goes to the raiders and becomes when I s paid offense alignment in the history of the NFL. Dave S ler has got some strong thoughts on this one. Dave, of course, being a longtime patriots fan. Let's give a listen already got discussing the patriots. And I got a chime in here if they given Trent Brown same contract, raiders dead. Daddy, be the second highest played player on the team. Don't forget. He was a seventh round pick by the forty Niners. Obviously they didn't think enough of them basically traded him to England for fifth for a third round draft pick. Don't forget knowing that Nate soldier walked solve the giants will line issues. They prior giant sacks allowed per game. Last year. It was actually far worse. Don't forget New England drafted Isaiah win in the first round last year to replace soldier wind in place snap last year. He was on. I r so not only is this a business decision. It's a loft. Decision. Lack of frigging talent round wasn't even a left tackle before. Coming to New England. It's the system don't forget. It was the system with lion alive back in two thousand one. It was assistant with Wes Welker in two thousand twelve when Zeh win makes the Pro Bowl in trim FRANZ afterthought. It'll still be the system and Dante's connect via the best old line coach in the NFL in New England. The back of the dollar says in Ville we trust and outside of the six ignorant when region this is a total non event. All right. That's from Dave. And I got a green with them. I think you're an underdog when it comes to the fact that the patriots if they thought he was worth at Trent Brown them ballot. Check would have made sure that he's still a New England patriot anytime we've seen a guy leave the patriots more often than not not always. But definitely more often than not we've seen that player. Really? Digress. Nate soldier last year. A guy that left the patriots Malcolm Butler left the patriots ballot. Check was killed for not playing him in the Super Bowl. And then we also look at Dan Danny amendola caught one touchdown pass their weight and ask for Miami dolphin Ndola signing and now he's not going to be signed. He's with the lions now back, then he's golden Tate replacement for them. So again, I agree. I if ballot check isn't interested. I'm not sure I want to be interested in that. Once again, some strong thoughts from Aslam and Trent Brown. You know, the book on him was always, you know, tremendous, physical specimen and can. Additioning an issue. And when are you going to be on your best behavior and stay in shape, while probably when you're playing with the New England Patriots in Boston as opposed to going to a less buttoned up organization when all of a sudden that conditioning might suffer especially with the a big coaching downgrade. Now hitman you you're good as far as player specifics. And really diving in a when it comes to denies the NFL from everything I've read New England, Dante scar Nekia, he's the the offense allying coach that they asked to bring back out of retirement, and is considered not only one of the best offense, align coaches in the NFL or talk in one of the best in the history of the NFL at that position. Now on the other side and Oakland, Tom cable big name. At least from the analytics guys, I is considered a at least the the version of himself now in two thousand nineteen to be one of the worst offense, align coaches, the agree with that. Yeah. So look at how Tom cables offensive lines performed in Seattle. I'll give a give it to you that they did not have much talent on their offensive line. But they get rid of him this past year..
Raiders add receiver Williams to pair with Brown
"As well. Talking about the Steelers immediate Antonio Brown. Now, a raider and the raiders not sitting by and just waiting for things to happen grabbing lamarcus Joyner from the secondary of the Rams robbing Trent Brown left tackle from New England. And then today grabbing Williams there from the Tyrone Williams from the chargers so taking from right inside the AFC west to solidify another receiver that's got pretty good speed and could be a complimentary receiver with Brown. And again, if cooked resigns and Nelson stays healthy. I mean, you're looking at a quartet of receivers that are going to be pretty reliable there for Derek Carr who's gonna get
NFL free agency: All the latest signings
"NFL free agency officially opens for business this afternoon, but stars are already on the move sports with Adam Kaufman. Defending champion patriots of reach the big game the last three years, but there may be more parody in the AFC. This fall Steelers still have Ben Rothlisberger. But a superstar receiver and running back moved on Antonio Brown traded to the raiders and after a year off lady on bell opted to join the jets four year deal with the max value of sixty one million dollars, including thirty five mil guaranteed giants traded perennial thousand yard receiver Odell Beckham junior to the Brown. "So Daniel, I think that's a very astute observation I think I'm kind of as I'm seeing how free agency is unfolding and hell guys like Trent Brown, and John James or getting paid. I think that's how things are kind of leaning towards the for the chargers. I think they're they're going to build their offs their off-season around putting themselves. In a position to take offense of tackled. Probably in the first round that was probably always the plan. But I think is just been kind of reaffirmed by how these guys are getting way overpaid in free agency. So I think I'm fully expecting an offensive tackle in the first round. I think whether it's the fourth best offensive tackle or the seventh fest offensive tackle. It's arguably the biggest need on the roster right now. And Thom Tillis go always goes the biggest need he has a habit of alternating between offense defense last year. It was offense defense third last year. It was defense getting Dermot James. This year. I think it's going to be offensive tackle. I think he's going to try to plug some of those defensive holes in free agency and as offensive tackles are getting signed. I think some of the top tackles some the top four or five guys are starting to slide down boards a little bit as teams fill needs. So I think it's setting up well for them to get a get a tackle. And hopefully, get a good one and not get stuck with one of the lower level first round picks, but get somebody who might have been expected to go a little bit earlier. Yeah. No. I I actually agree this offensive line free agent market stunk from the beginning, and it still stinks. Even when you know day one is almost over. So it was never anything special. And I was hoping the charges wouldn't go tackle. And obviously, right. Tackle is an immediate need left tackle, probably sooner rather than later. I think you're probably right. I also assume it'd be offensive tackle in the first round in round one or two is probably a good bet. It's probably the favorite. Half to probably have to at least in day one or two. I guess you could make an argument the right tackle might be easier to find than a left tackle. So maybe you can push the third round. But I think that's probably the way to go first or second round. We got to see what happens after the dust settles after free agency happens. But I mean taking tackle early in the draft is by far the heavy favor because you look at the free agent market right now for defenders, which we're gonna talk about defensive tackle still has a couple of good names. Their safety is obviously probably the heaviest market with the most talent. So the chargers could get themselves a defensive tackle and a safety a free safety in agency. And there's a couple of good..

"It pretty soon after it was first reported. I would be curious to see the guarantee guaranteed money. There's some there. Now, the insiders they're getting smart, Dan, we've been getting on them for like sane guaranteed on this show guaranteed. Money's not really guaranteed. Now, he apparently has twenty seven million dollars in rolling guarantees, and what's rolling Garin, whatever that means. So maybe it's like a one year contract for all we really know at this point. Let's move on a trade. Trade trade Sonam e it's coming. It's been here. It's been here. It is trade trade to NAMI talked about the raiders earlier. They also made a meal made a deal this weekend. Sending Coletta of similarly the left guard two time pro bowler who suffered a down season a twenty eighteen so Gruden ships out of town along with a six round pick to the jets who get offense of line help, which they need. It's a twenty nine year old player who if he stays healthy if he's in good shape and all that represents a huge upgrade for the jets in the middle of their line. And like I talked about this last week as important as bringing somebody Levy on bell is fixing that line in front of darnold is equally important. And I think this is a good step in that direction. Your thoughts Schulman and seems to me that the raiders who they're all reports from me as. Peon specifically that they are cash poor after pain-free Antonio Brown and Trent Brown so Trent Brown like deferred most of his big money into the second year after they get to Vegas in theory because there's no income tax there. But maybe it's you know, helping the jets build their offense of line because they can't afford Colletti assembly. I'm sure they also think that assembly in declined from where they signed him three years ago. Yeah. He was one of those guys that Mark if I think if you listen to the show three years ago, we would have been talking up off the top. He was a top five free agent their whole on and he was on the potential cuts list because may I especially after at the combine maniac kind of set assembly thought was up and down year ago, which was maybe telegraphing it, but for the jets, it seems like a very I mean at worst. He's a competent starting guard, which is better than Jacob carpenter possible. The get these veteran pick swap deals are like, you know, the new moneyball and Matt Paradis is the big center on the market. Report out there that it's between the jets and the bills in terms of the fight to get Paradis. And that would be a nice upgrade to the middle that line. So we'll see how it all plays out. Another trade the patriots in business. They acquire Michael Bennett and at twenty twenty seventh round pick from the eagles in exchange for a twenty twenty fifth round pick Bennett we'd heard he was of his salary was a little bit restricting for the eagles. They were going to potential release them. Instead, they move them in a deal Bennett. Mark still even at age thirty three makes an impact on a defensive made the rate the patriots a little bit better. It sounds like I mean, I guess to West Point you look at this. Michael Bennett guy who systematically knows he's going to play into January every year. He's in the NFL. He's proven he can do it. And you're not one of these teams blowing the Bank for someone coming off a big season..

"He's one of the best offense lime in the league. So it's a good pickup. But there they have some Cavs base. There is they're really they're losing a Couchbase awfully quickly with all these this these two massive signings, these two massive contracts, they have now on their hands. So we'll see if they'll see a living on bell is still available prospect or prospector available asset to get them. So it's gonna be very interesting to see all that goes down. But again, they got Trent Brown another big time free agent. So in the quote unquote off season Super Bowl, or whatever you want to say it the raiders are kind of winning this woman grabbing the best offense alignment in the league. Arguably and grabbing Antonio Brown the best wide receiver in the league, arguably, so we'll see how that turns around. But. That is a recent breaking news. I think that happened like twenty five minutes ago, twenty minutes ago. So. We'll see how that goes down. But we'll look at looking at just how much they're paying is absolutely absurd. But I think we've talked enough about the raiders we'll see how that goes. But there is reports I talked a little bit about this with Tate during our first segment, but there is talks about the giants still involved with talks over the star wide receiver being traded. So there is still a possibility of him being traded. It was centered mainly around. His five year ninety five million dollar extension, but the giant last year. But it's report he remains quote, more Maine's on the market. So the question remains who is this team? That's gonna go for it sounded like the forty Niners. We're going for Antonio Brown. Obviously, they didn't luck out and grabbing him. But it seems to me if I they're also in discussion with the with the giants if they were one of the teams that's going to be a discussion. It's going be him. But I don't know really what the outcome is gonna be there in a sense based off the fact that. Just intoning Brown's contract is also massive. So we'll see how everything goes around. And we'll see everything turns about, but when it comes down to if Ota Beckham junior also traded if you wanna craziest off seasons in history my opinion, if two elite wide receivers get traded when they already have come contract extensions recently signed contract extensions. It's give me one of these things where like. It's we're never get. This is going to change this change the outcome of all this is going to change the outcome of. How explain this? This is gonna change the outcome of all free agencies in the future. Not just free agent excel itself, but it's also going to change the fact of like players who have these massive extensions already, but don't want to be part of their team. Or maybe the team doesn't want to be part of them or some sort of situation like that. And where they're going to be traded, regardless. So honestly, I feel like if Oto Beckham junior does get traded. Then honestly. I can easily see. So many of Dopek of does get treated I can easily see this turning into one of those things where you're looking at it and expecting these massive contracts being shipped to other teams and no extension. No guy who's extended. We'll be safe. And when I say by that is. It just feels like everything's changing around the freidan C. But I have breaking news as the former Pro Bowl linebacker Kwan. Alexander of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who's looking for a massive contract after tornadoes he'll.

"We have our first leak if you will from the legal tampering, and that's Trent Brown the left. Hacksaw that who played all sixteen games for the patriots last year. Yeah, he's going to the raiders. So the raiders are making it obvious. They are trying to win right now. Yeah. Trade for Antonio Brown. You give a huge contract to Brown Trent Brown that is Antonio Brown. They're clearly going forward. So now, it would almost be stunning. If they took Dwayne Haskins at that part of the draft right before the giants. Yeah. I don't think that's at four the raiders at four. I don't think that's happened. Yeah. No doubt. Mike is in Hoboken. Hey, Mike, Mike. Hey, guys loved the show Mets fan, but curious about this Wheeler talk, you know, seem what guy Corbin or making certainly attractive. Now, he got a front row seat to see how things happened with Harvey Harvey. It was like inevitable if years ago that he was going to get some huge deal. That ended up that weighs on a guy like dealer just kind of seeing that other side of it. And what are you gonna do? I think it's different because of how close he is to the promised land. He's a year away from free agency. I think there's a big difference between being a year away from free agency and two three years away from free agency where there is more worry. Plus we were so dominant show in the second half of last year. And his money's thinking. Oh my God. If I do this. I am going to go up with Harvey was going the other way. Yeah. That's the other thing. Plus if Harvey was going to agree to any kind of extension. Let's say after the two thousand fifteen season think about how far away he was from free agency. He'd have been three full seasons away from it here. So you're never gonna get your maximum payday when you're that far away. Yeah. Well, it's part of the risks at the time. Because of Syndergaard and degrom and Matt's not that. I thought Matt Harvey was gonna fall off the face. I didn't I wanted to trade him does a big fan of trading him. And I was thrown out all the crazy deals out there at that time. Mookie Betts, Mookie Betts, Jose altuve. Hilarious and depressing. That's very Larry's is at the time. It seemed didn't seem like we don't want. Nobody wants to know at the time. We were the one. I know I'll never forget. Mike for saying it when I suggested altuve to for Harvey and both of you guys said, Nah, I wanna do it. It's it's fair to say, you guys are crazy. Because at the time, I think it was a different player. I can't speak for Mike, but I'm certainly credit. Well, yes. But like saying it now sounds absurd right? Thank you. A joke was not absurd after two thousand fifteen know Matt Harvey looked like he was gonna fake career. Not at all. But the reason I was last good year. Riyad was twenty fifteen but he's still got one year eleven million dollars from the angels. Yeah. What kind of year he's gonna c see in north jersey mo-? How're you get? Our you guys smoke. What's? Hi. So I got the Yankees winning a hunger games this year. I got Boston right behind them with probably like ninety seven. I got Cleveland winningest division by twenty games. I got Houston renting the division. Okay. Louis that surprised sixty is gonna be this year. That second wildcard American reason that the money question every single year from Minnesota Glenn. It is. I don't think there a surprise anymore. Tampa Bay ninety last year. Yeah. I like Minnesota. I like Minnesota to bounce back. And I don't necessarily think the Indians are just gonna cruise to the American League central. That'd be and I don't think the Red Sox and winning ninety six games. I got major questions about the Red Sox. I think they were the only one Ninety-six. I mean, that's twelve games less than last year. That's right now, I said this last year about the dodgers, and I was wrong. And I was right. It was a combo. He said they weren't going to be any good. And then you turned out to be wrong later right out there. I made two points about the dodgers. I said I don't think they're gonna win the division. I don't think they're gonna be very good wrong about that. But I said hit that under right about that. I kind of feel similarly to the Red Sox this year where I don't think it'd be bad playoff team in the playoffs because of the nature of the American League. Yeah. I think they're going to win the first or second wildcard, they could do it. At eighty nine wins is eighty nine wins a bad year. No. That's that's twenty wins less. Yes. So right. So he's had a bad year. All depends. How far they go. I don't know. Nine games and went to the world's won the World Series. Again. What does it matter? They're in the wild card game. And they're going to Minnesota. That's that's where they end up. Is that a good? Yeah. I guess you're right. Win the game. If that's what happens and they lose to the twins. Now wasn't a good year. I'm not ready to make that prediction. Yeah. Only ready to say, I think the Red Sox are only gonna win eight nine games despite the Yankee issues, I think they should win this division. They should I'm with you, Dan, Manhattan, Dan. Hey, Columbine, levian bell. I don't understand why people are subsets with Levy. I'm belt if the patriots have taught us nothing that you need to know line. And you know, you can put in any running back. Of the patients can put in any offensive linemen, and it wouldn't matter because it's ballot check and it's a different world than everybody else. Let's keep that in mind. Okay. But what about saquon Barkley? He was a an exceptional talent. And they won like five games. I more than. More than you need more. Yeah. No one's saying. The giant defense was horrendous. Offensive line got better as the year went on. I mean, you know, I don't compare to patriots to anything normal. No. I mean, there's not the normal. It's a fair point. But it's it's similar to saying. Why would I want to go get my trout? Well, how many games of the angels one? You still want him on your team? Now bills not my travel on those a very good football player. And if he put up the numbers he put up in two thousand seventeen when he went for thirteen hundred yards and he got in the end zone nine times rushing and a couple of times receiving an eighty five ninety catches. Yes. You need other things. Yes. The offensive line needs to be improved which I think they just did by the trade. They made for assembly. Do they need to improve their defense and get a passer? Absolutely. But don't discount on bell. Just because well you need more than a running back. Of course. Back in the the patriots is throw that out the window. I don't get it doesn't matter. What a guy is. And what the position is when it's not quarterback. Everybody excels for the patriots. Everybody and Trent Brown is a great example, the raiders just sixty six million now, he's back the reality. Let's see what he does. It's a great question. It's a great question because Trent Brown was a seventh round pick by the San Francisco forty Niners. He had played one full season. Right. And then he ends up with the patriots last year has a very good year. And look at the day. He just got. That's why I'm scared of Trey flowers. I gotta tell you because I don't know Trey flowers as great with the bad. So I don't know how good he's going to be anywhere else. Yeah. He scares me. One thing I noticed about Trent Brown. I was looking over a little bit. Is that not physically just meeting about we understand he committed eleven penalties with the Niners in two thousand sixteen already committed five done would be amazing. Well, not quite is the patriots cut in half though Bailey because they're really really really well coached. Yes. Page slightly. Yeah. Brian in Rockville centre, Ryan, how are you? And gentleman. Hawaii Brian has everything wonderful. I wanna get my take on the, you know, the wilpon fell into fate. Joe Wade hunter could play offensive line and stop. Glad to glad Dukakis. Colby. Let me just say quick if there's one thing all of the teams I cheer for having common. Whatever they play the game a game on a night where they have a commemoration whether it be a player or chip ship. Whatever horribly. The point Saturday night felt Dory. I yeah. Bill. So. His tie completely fell off. It was just a Scott. Just the prepare you where the jets have their commemoration, but a sixty nine Super Bowl that one last year actually won the game was a game against the colts. You. Actually one. Basically, just then then the jets won only one more game. One more game. All right now with the with wilpon it though now with well part. I it's about you know, what? Got a statue. But of course, you got to forget about the part that I took the poor guy. To get the statue up. I've heard horror stories of people out of matter. But you know, what medical deserves it? Now, he's wanted the Bronx, but as far stolen ghost. I'm not defending Babe Ruth. Whatever you walkway outside does. Right. That's true. But as far stolen ghost. Let's get out of any fast. I wanna get your take on. This is one thing about stolen. He has brought in guys that on paper had good resumes. He brought it he brought it Carmelo he brought in Lenny Wilkins, a two-time hall of Famer Larry brownie fail. Even let's bring Phil bringing up Phil guy. I. But again on paper could resume he has choice fail. But he what's your take on that? Well, again, look part of the problem with all in is. This is the structure of the NBA is the salary cap situation of the NBA that's part of the issue there. You can't just spend spend you say spending can cause major damage. Yes. Which a lot of those moves did I think the problem is been and maybe not recently. This is a part of why we've actually complemented James don't over the last couple of years is it felt like he wasn't budding out completely would hire these guys and still be involved. Even though it's denied to this day. We've all heard the talk around the Carmelo Anthony trade that there was lead involvement to push that deal. Right. Whether it's true or not, I don't know because I don't find the garden that believable. So when they say something, I'm not going to be there. Right. I don't find. We were planning the senior statue for awhile believable. No, well, it's kind of a credibility issue..

"This year was excellent was really really good. They traded for Trent Brown who a year ago. I went to Denver. Broncos in forty Niners joint practice von Miller who was just coming off two years ago, the Super Bowl MVP called Trent Brown the best right tackle in the NFL. So that's just the random guy they replaced. Our first rounder with Tom Brady played on dramatically better off into lines. My point is that if your offense lines good, and you have a guy of Lux caliber, you're gonna be in the Super Bowl mix. Now is Frank right? Bill belichick. No. But the divisions a little harder division is hard. The AFC. South is good. The Texans are good Bill Bryan's. Good. The jaguars. Let's say they're the worst team. And then the titans were solid again. I don't know if the titans are ever going to be thirteen twelve type team, but they'll be in that eight to ten range, and if mariota can just stay on the field that they are paying the asked to deal with so them getting there is going to be is going to be impressive. It's going to be hard. But yeah, I think they have good off-season have good draft. They'll be right in the mix. Okay. Firstly with the release of Crabtree. And John Brown a free agent. Please tell me Baltimore will find true young number one receiver for Lamar if so who is this guy. Secondly, I've heard it a million times. Lamar Jackson these improve on his passing ability. Do you really think he can be come a consistent two hundred and fifty passing yards per game guy?.

"Left tackle Trent Brown is a one year guy who's probably done after this season. So, you know, the wide receiver position you're gonna have. Changes their Gordon they'll probably bring back as a restricted free agent. But you know, truly elements not getting any younger he's under contract. But I don't know if he can continue to be your volume slot receiver moving forward. So I think there's a lot of changes for this patriots team after the season. But the reality is the season isn't over, you know, feels like it after a loss like this with coaching problems and playing problems, and you know, you're losing ground or whatever day of cedar taste. But you know, you're just a couple of wins away. You beat the Steelers on the road next week to finish out the season. And then you get ready for another postseason run. Anything's could look a lot brighter the coming weeks, but it's gonna be an interesting off season. No question about it. And he is always we appreciate the information. Amongst the greatest finishes in league history. I mean, this is right up there. I'll call you know, look, the the patriots have been torturing the dolphins for such a long time, right? For the dolphins to get like a win like that. It's crazy, man. I in look that's a divisional match up. The patriots have the dominating that division for ten years. Really nice moment for those home fans for fan base has seen a lot of heartbreak over the years. Yeah. What does it do to the patriots on so many questions now gronkowski gronkowski in the game? And the last plan safety, you know, they target him. He did so well eight targets eight catches. But what does it do to to this patriots football team? Know what I mean? I think they key rolling. You know, I I think four team that hasn't had him on a playoff tests that they have maybe you could like affect them. But you know, the patriots. No like, the key to winning both like in football online at the keep taking those hits and move a four like you can't be like a Super Bowl champion, and as a team not be able to kinda Dopp that strategy general, obviously, they have the head coach who's were pretty much at Bonn. You know, when he's speaking to players, and you know, as far as motivating tell them how to be champions and how to win. So you know, the pagers actually really will position to be able to handle it kind of devastating loss like that. Chatting with Tarez paler of Yahoo sports Tarez used to work in Kansas City, covered the chief. So what did you take away from their overtime win over Baltimore? And how do you view the ravens quarterback situation moving forward? Ladder. I I like Lamar Jackson forum. You know, he's got a way as it goes a pocket passer. But I do think he gives them more dynamism. Joe flacco does you know, I think that you know, he's a guy that should be going with the rest of the year for the teeth. You know, this is a big win because I covered the cheese for five years before his national job at Yahoo with you know, honestly. Every year..

"Going to be improved you know whether they can handle the the rams defensive front that remains to be seen i think that's a pretty tall task for anybody trent brown was a really good player but trent brown you had some issues in in you know as far as the work ethic goes and his commitment to the game i think it's gonna take a little while for for mike mcglinchey to to be a player at a high level but certainly like where he's heading but you know as a rookie he's going to have some growing pains there's no question about it he and joe staley of have gone together and they've created a pretty good rapport the forty hours is like west enrich bird coming in replacing daniel kilgore he's he's the kind of athlete that they want but it's really tough to to tell you what's going to be going out that offense align because if this time of the year they don't have the pads on so i think what's the patch get i'll have a better indication of where that offensive line is going to be going mad i wanna flip back over to the defensive side of the ball just get your thoughts on what you've seen from richard sherman i've seen a couple of clips on social media him being player slash coach helping out guys like a killer witherspoon you know they're they're gonna take it slowly he says if he wasn't an eight year that he would have been practicing already is he's coming up kelly surgery but they don't you know there's no reason for them to take any chances and i would suspect that even in training camp you know he might have a day of practice and then a day off and maybe a couple of days of practice in a day off i think there's going to bring him along slowly but he's already made a very significant contribution.
