"Have to do this other stuff, right now. You can just you could just relax. So relax. We say that as we're recording podcasts and fortunately, we wanted something to talk about, although we had enough to talk about all the transactions this week, so that they didn't actually have to do this for our sake, but that happened and also I guess the Phillies signed Craig kimbrell. Oh yeah. For one year in 10 million to do that. All I have to say is that I can't think of any way to enhance the chaos energy of the Phillies more than adding Craig kimbrel to the mix. Could be dominant, could be unpick who knows. So that'll be fun to find out which is which or whether he's won one part of the year and another at another part. Yep. All right, so what we had planned this week. So all of our episodes this week are themed episodes as you teased. We will have the minor league free agent draft coming up later this week, but another exercise that we've done at the end of some years, not every year, but many years is a story we missed episode or two episodes where we talk about something that we didn't talk about about each team in that year because despite doing a lot of podcasts and talking about a lot of things, we don't discuss everything and there are certain things that just aren't on our radar as national level baseball people. And so it sounds so fancy. Yeah, it's just we're above all these 9 new stories we're not at all. But we missed some interesting stories. And so at the end of the year, I put the call out to people in the Facebook group and elsewhere and say, hey, what did we not talk about this year that was interesting about your team? And it could be a weird, fun fact. It could be some nice or strange or heartwarming off the field story. It could be an individual player, season that was interesting in some way. And we just run them down and quickly list a story or two for each team. So I have all of them and we can I think do the NL teams today and then we'll do the AL teams later. So we can start with an L because the senior circuit has seniority and we'll just go in alphabetical order here and we were just talking about the braves so we can start with the braves again and this is one of my favorite ones. This was nominated by listener Matt, who noted that Atlanta carried Guillermo heredia for the entire season to basically be in Metz words a plastic pink sword wielding cheerleader. Yeah. I just was not aware of the season that Guillermo heredia had. He played 74 games and got only 86 plate appearances in which he did not do much here to 55 OPS plus in his Matt said those are forced to be on the roster, rule 5 draftee numbers, not full season 31 year old veteran numbers. Yeah. But basically, the story with him, I mean, he hit pretty well in 2021, so maybe they expected him to hit better, but he did that. He's still had a 79 WRC plus in 2021. Okay. To be clear. He did not hit pretty well. He had better, but okay. It was better. And, you know, better, I think, against left handed pitching than right handed pitching as I recall. But not like he had a one O one WRC plus against left handed hitting in 2021. That's something. This is something. Yeah, so he was basically around as an extra outfielder and was needed even less once Michael Harris came up. And so as the braves SB nation blog battery power put it with most of heredia's on field purposes reduced or taken away altogether, his primary job became keeping team chemistry dug out energy and Clubhouse morale all as high as possible. And he ranked in the 99th percentile at it with his random pig swords seemingly endless amounts of energy constant chatter and infectious smile. His teammates loved him, the fans loved him and basically without any on field contributions. Already it became one of the most popular players in the organization. It's just great. I'm always fascinated by players who managed to stick on the raster despite not playing and yet they justify their playing time or their presence somehow and really it is extraordinary playing this many games just primarily as a defensive replacement without getting many plate appearances. It's really like no one has done this in a while just looking at stad head and searching for minimum 74 games, fewest play appearances, obviously you have your mid 70s as pinch running specialists herb Washington dot Hopkins at the top who got no plate appearances or barely any, but really no one has had this kind of season since I think 2005 when Lenny Harris pinch hitter extraordinaire, he played 78 games for the Marlins and had 83 plate appearances. That is the last time someone has played this many games and had so few played appearances. And he was on the active roster almost the entire season, so there was a 5 game period where he was demoted to triple-A and then I think that was because they had to call up an extra catcher because Travis Darnell maybe was day to day and had heard his leg and x-rays were negative, but they called up Chadwick Trump one of my favorite baseball names and also a pitcher because I think Ian Anderson went down to triple-A. So that was just a brief little triple-A interlude, but then heredia was called up. I think just like 5 days later, because Ari adrianza was placed on the injured list and then heredia was back for the rest of the way. And Robert au and Lucas pasta layers, they helped me look this up at baseball prospectus. I was interested in just the least plate appearances, fewest play appearances by someone who was on the active roster. All season or most of the season. So former effectively while guest Garrett Stubbs, he was the player who was on the act depressed or the entire season and had the fewest plate appearances, one 21, as the Phillies backup catcher. But if you limit it to players with at least a 142 days active and heredia had a 167 of a 172, then no one was really close to him in few plate appearances. It was like Charlie culberson, Ryan o'hearn, who is just pushed off the royals roster finally hunts her Alberto, Kurt Suzuki, you know, like utility types and backup catchers. And Guillermo heredia, who was just sort of a mascot for much of the season. And even going back to 2021, Robert worked at this date of from MLB about who was actually on the roster on any given day.

"And some expert power users will be moderating that panel. So if you've been hesitant at all because you're afraid to dip your toe into the waters of stad head, do they are cool and healing waters. But there is a slight learning curve and adjustment, but really it's a fun one. You get to poke around and figure out all of the options available to you and that the powers that you have suddenly been granted, but there is a webinar, so you can check that out on Monday. If you're on the fence and maybe that will push you over to one side of the fence, hopefully gently. So, a couple other stat blasts. Now, one is a follow-up to a previous step last. So as you will recall, we recently used stat head to determine that those Atlanta Braves, they have one of the biggest day night splits ever. Yes. They have been bad in day games. And we got an email from listener Matthew, who said, I wanted to provide some insight on the day night splits as a Yankees fan and I noted that the Yankees last year had a slightly more extreme day night split than the braves do this year. So Matt says as a Yankees fan, I noticed many people complained last year that the Yankees put suboptimal teams out for day games. No evidence of this but would love to hear if there's any substance behind the claim and if it applies to the braves and I guess it would make sense probably I haven't looked at just what's the day night split for every team in history, but you do tend to rest some starters saying big games, right? You might not start your catcher in the day game after the night game. So you might think that on the whole you would have slightly less than your a lineup in day games in general. So I didn't look into the Yankees case specifically. And in fact, I didn't look into in this case specifically, but someone else did. Or listeners sometimes take these things upon themselves. So we got an email from JR in Philly, who wrote in response to your discussion of Atlanta's significantly worse record in day games, I had a theory that a manager may be more likely to give better hitters the day off for day games. I thought this might be significant, particularly if a team has a decent hidden catcher, like Travis Darnell, or William Contreras. Sure. Or a star player returning from an injury like Ronald Acuna or Asia's. So he says I downloaded Atlanta splits from the season and looked at each player's plate appearances as a percentage of the team's total. There's a spreadsheet which I will link to. Atlanta does have a one 15 WRC plus and night games and a 99 WRC plus a day games, but it doesn't appear to be because of lineup decisions. Yeah. Only Travis darnold has a significantly lower percentage of the teams played appearances in day games and while there are no does have a one 24 WRC plus this season. Those played appearances have largely gone to William Contreras, who has a one 38 plus he says instead I found that nearly every hitter in Atlanta's lineup has hit better this season at night. Sometimes significantly so, Contreras, I'll be darn old, Michael Harris, or Linda arcia, and Eddie or zaria all have WRC plus this season that are least 35 points higher in night games than day games. Wow. Going a step further. I always like it when someone goes a step further. I often take a step too far. JR might be doing that too. All right, listeners are great. I used each player's full season WRC plus to calculate what it landed expected team WRC plus would have been in day games and night games if each hitter hit for their full season WRC plus in both day and night games. I found that in that scenario they're expected team WRC plus would be one O 9 and day games in one ten in night games, so my theory that the team's better hitters got more days off during day games didn't hold up. What's more interesting is I took a look at the team's pitching splits and found the exact opposite. Atlanta has a 3.37 team ERA and night games and a 3.65 team ERA in day games and the difference appears to be entirely attributable to who was on the mount. I calculated the team's expected ERAs and day games and neck games in a scenario where every Atlanta pitcher pitched to their full season ERA in both they gave the night games and found that their expected team ERAs matched their real ears exactly. In other words, while some Atlanta pitchers have pitched better at night or during the day those differences evened out exactly instead, the difference seems to be that the teams better pitchers faced fewer batters in day games, max freed and Spencer strider who have Ares in the two started only 11 day games this season combined. Meanwhile, Charlie Morton, who has a 4.29 ERA, has started 14 day games on his own, and Kyle Mueller made both of his starts during the day and racked up a 10.57 ERA. So there you have it, Atlanta hitters have randomly and almost universally hit worse during day games and their better pictures have pitched more during night games. Presumably by chance, I would imagine. So that's the explanation and or non explanation for Atlantis extreme dates but thank you, JR for saving me all that effort that probably would not have put in, but thank you. Come on, Ben. You probably would have. Yeah, I'm not above doing that for other questions. I just don't know that I would have for this particular question. But I appreciate that JR did. Okay. A few more here. So here's a question from Joey, who says my wife is a lifeline Yankees fan and got me into baseball in my early 30s, so I'm one of the few fans. You all have talked about on the show. I noticed a Yankee score a couple of weeks ago that was the start of the Fibonacci series. Speaking of nerdy questions yeah, specifically, the game was the Yankees angels game on August 30th, the Yankees score went one in the first, one in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth, and then they did not score the rest of the game. I was wondering how common this series is in baseball and whether anyone has gotten longer into the sequence than this. I can't imagine many teams have gotten to 5 and few if any have gotten to 8. If we were pedantic about the sequence and who isn't about baseball, the sequence would more appropriately be zero one one two three 5 8 1321 for a 9 in a game. So Ryan looked this up and found that by the pedantic definition of starting with zero, there have been 341 games that have kept up the pattern through the fourth, 11 that kept it through the 5th and none that made it to the 6th. Wow. So the 5th is as far as it goes. There's a little list of those games which I will make available. By the other definition, he says 23 teams made it through the fourth none made it to the 5th. Three seems to be the max in the sequence. In fact, he says I confirmed that there has never been a one one two three 5 sequence in any game period. The closest I have found was the White Sox went one one two three four in the third to 7th innings on October 3rd, 1991, and I bet everyone watching at home thought they're doing they almost Fibonacci here.

"Langs, reporter producer for MLB dot com, Sarah, how you doing on this Monday? Doing great buster, how are you? I'm doing great. I'm still, I was not at the game yesterday on Sunday Night baseball, but it was fun to see the highlights from last night with Albert Poole's pitching. I talked to Tim about the joy that Albert had in that moment. It got me thinking this morning because you're someone who draws the joy out of baseball so much. What's the most enjoyable moment we've had early this season? Because here in my two candidates, and I have a hard time picking between these two. One, when Anthony Rendon hit that left handed home run, I was, I thought it was cool that he did it, but what I thought was just as cool was how when he did it, I got the feeling the old school part of Anthony Rendon was like, I don't know if I should have done that. And he ran around the bases with his head down. He didn't want to smile or celebrate, even though there was a position player on the mound. And the second candidate for the most fun thing that happened in baseball this year, Travis Darnell, getting hit by about a 55 mile an hour pitch in Brett Phillips and Darnell flopping like he'd been hitting the neck by and Nolan Ryan fastball. And everybody having a great laugh on the field. What about you? Those were amazing. I mean, I feel like we've gotten 5 Brit Phillips moments already this year. We had him, we've had him pitch what twice three times. We had that crazy catchy made when he was pitching and he ran like 90 feet to make a couch by the visiting dugout, yeah, I think that was absolutely outstanding, but Albert pools last night has to be one of the top moments. I mean, the smile. The Adam Wainwright tweet, I saw this morning. I didn't see it last night, the tweeted, hey, don't worry, Albert. I also gave up a home run in my debut. And then he said, hey, maybe in 17 years you and Andrew kisner will tie yadi in my record or break our record. I mean, that was absolutely outstanding. So, I mean, just a great, great moment there. All right, let's play the numbers game. Number three number three is zero. So speaking of some pretty crazy moments we've had this year. The pirates yesterday did not get a hit and they won the game. So the reds did not throw a no header because they did not throw 9 innings. It has to be 9 endings to be a no hitter. But it was the 6th time since at least 1900 the team has not gotten ahead and won a game. So the last time this happened was the Dodgers in 2008, a lot of people remember that game it was started by the angels by Jared weaver. Of course there's Andy Hawkins that I think a lot of people think about when you think about no hitters and losing again not official no hitters, but pretty crazy and I love baseball that something that seems so outlandish has happened 6 times since 1900, but that was just a crazy game. I mean, for me, I was working, I was going through things. We're getting ready. We're in no hitter protocol. All of a sudden the pirates score and it's like, wait, this isn't no hitter protocol because it's not going to be a no hitter, which is just crazy anyway. Number two number two is 100. So over the weekend, chili Otani hit his 100th, and then it's 101st career home runs. So, you know, there's a lot of nodes we're always talking about Babe Ruth, but what I want to take a look at was most career strikeouts as a pitcher for Blair's to hit at least a hundred career home runs. So a Babe Ruth 501 strikeouts and of course 714 home runs. We have a tiny 260 strikeouts on the mound, the 101 home runs now. And then next on the list, I just thought this was sun. George sisler, 63 strikeouts as a pitcher, 102 home runs. Number.

"Exactly what I saw. It was like, get on the mount and what I was hearing in spring is the guys can get it before they're even on the rubber. So they already know what they're going to throw. So even if they wanted to shake it off, they could do it before they even, you know, it's time for the battery to get in the batter's box. So I talked with Travis Darnell, veteran catcher for the braves yesterday before the game about it. And in his feeling was, look, we don't need it. And from his perspective as a guy who's been in the game forever, he's going to be getting a World Series ring this weekend. He's working, for example, with a pitcher like a Charlie Morton, do those two guys really need it probably not. I do think, you know, we've heard about 50% of the teams are using it. Those teams that aren't using it probably are teams with veteran catchers. I talked to AJ Hinch the other day and he said, Tucker barnhart, their catchers, not using it. But if you're a team with young catchers, absolutely you want them to use it yesterday. Tyler Stevenson of the reds. He was using it. But something that David bell, the reds manager told me before the game yesterday really jumped out. He goes, yeah, middle of the game we're probably going to have to reprogram the transmitter system and took you aback because what do you mean? And then you think, of course, because everybody watches everything that the opposing players are doing, right? At some point, some savvy player at wardo Perez, who works with us, is going to know exactly when the catcher through physical tells touches some part of his pad that probably means a fastball is coming up, or maybe the pitch is going to be blown away. They'll be able to see those sequences, kind of like if someone were watching you, punching numbers at an ATM. And so I watched in the 7th inning, they brought in a reliever, Tyler Stevenson went out to the mound, carrying a new transmitter in an earpiece. Because they're anticipating that sort of ridiculous who was in this meeting with David bell yesterday was like, yep, you absolutely will be looking for that. It'd be like, being at a poker table, seeing the same physical tell that the catcher does when he calls a fastball or a breaking ball. So my suggestion was, we were making this up on the fly, my suggestion yesterday was, you need like a little flap, right? Where the opposing players can't see the buttons you're pushing, they have a guard, or at least the brewers did, where it's up toward shielding the batter now. And the camera was honed in so I could actually see the buttons they were pressing, which then looked like the video technology coming back in. I could actually see the button that was being pressed because of the angle. It was like a high home. It was like sneaking over the shoulder. But they had, they did have a shield that anyone in front of you, the batter could not see. Okay, so it is like the ATM where they have this little flap down when you're punching in the numbers. Can you believe that it's been used one day and everyone's looking to break it down? Paranoia is real. Oh yeah, no doubt. All right, yesterday, I did not get to see this. You did, Bobby witt junior, his debut. Look, they're great prospects that we see every year, but Bobby wood junior looks like a guy who's going to be really, really special. Yeah, I mean, and it's what I love about it, buster is it's the future and that it's power and speed. And I feel like the speed component is coming back into the game. And we're even seeing that in the minor leagues with some of the rule adjustments and the amount of times that pitchers can actually step off the rubber to kind of increase the amount of leads and steals that we're seeing in the game the excitement in and around that, but Bobby would junior is someone that exemplifies that to me. Is the two most exciting parts of the game when you look at offense are like the big hits, the slug and the ability to be able to run the basis steel bases to take that extra base and watch that pure speed. It was watching the game live when Bobby witt junior came up there late in the game. And with the whole entire atmosphere in Kansas City, I mean, you could just feel the energy, right? It was amazing. And I mean, honestly, I was excited before he got the hip because I'm thinking about torkelson out, you know, in Detroit, I'm thinking about Julio Rodriguez. And the fact that because of the changes now with the CBA this year, we can actually see these young stars on opening day and buster how important that is because I do think Kansas City in Detroit will have better seasons than they had last year, but the most important day for teams that are possibly going to be in October is the very first day that hope that feel all the home fans feeling like this is our year. We can do this and putting your best foot forward, which for the Kansas City Royals is Bobby wood junior. I hope you're right. I still don't see any hard and fast rules put in place structurally that will prevent service time manipulation. I think those are organic. Like Bobby witt junior, I think, was promoted on the first day because Dayton Moore is the head of baseball operations of the royal he hates tanking. And he promotes players as he did, Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, based on what he felt like they earned their Ascension into the big leagues. And he felt that way about Bobby witt junior, you hope the teams handle situation, get their best players on the field early that's for sure. You got to see Shohei Ohtani yesterday in his first game. What did you see? You know, honestly, buster, my favorite part, and the angel broadcasting mavris best version, our friend, who was calling the game for a valley sports, was did a great job. Their network of following shohei after the top of the first inning. And he gets out of there and by the way, he kind of, it was a little rough and he overthrew a few that you could tell the nerves were real in there. And, you know, I'm sitting there, it was opening day for little league two for my son. And so I couldn't help but see it through this lens of like a ten year old, you know? And you Shohei Ohtani, like the nerves and getting out of that first inning and then he immediately like a little kid runs into the dog out and he's kidding on his batting gloves and because he's leading off the bottom of the first inning and like this is history being made again with shohei, but just that excitement and that I couldn't wait to get up to bat and he's putting on a shin guard and he runs out there and what does he do? Very first pitch of the game, he swings at it, chops the ball and literally gets down the line as fast as you will see anybody hustle gets thrown out that maybe a millisecond..

"Welcome to the show. All right, thanks for having me. So tell us a little bit about yourself where you are what you do and how you eventually developed the idea for MLP trade dot com. Yeah, sure. So I'm from Toronto, Canada. But I currently live in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. And I'm a teacher here. I moved away from Toronto about three years ago. Got some teaching, experience under my belt, then COVID hit. Took a little bit of time to think about what I wanted to do. And I realized I wasn't really comfortable being in the classroom all the time. So I wanted to switch up my careers. So I took a little coding course about 6 months ago and I was thinking of some ideas for projects, wanted to incorporate baseball. So I ended up doing this thing. Yeah, this is a good little project to put on your resume if you're applying coding job, I guess. What's your background as a baseball fan? I assume you were a Blue Jays fan, but how did you get hooked? Yeah, so I was born the year after back to back World Series when so I kind of missed the peak days right there. But yeah, it was my whole life. I've been to games since I was since I can remember. And actually, the main thing that got me started thinking about the trade trees was thinking about Roy Halladay. We traded Roy holiday back in. Don't remember. You probably have that information. Check the site. Exactly. We treated holiday back in. 2009. That's right. 2009. And I always like, I always thought, you know, what happened? Like, with the guys that we got for it because I just don't really remember. So yeah, so I thought about all the old days trades that we did back in the day and that kind of gave me going. Travis Darnell, Kyle Trebek, and Michael Taylor. That's right. And then got rid of Travis journal, which was also not the best trade, but you know. It was for that playoff push and complain too much about it. Sure. So I think that every writer has tried to go down this wormhole at some point. It is fertile territory in the off season in particular to look at the most lopsided trades or the most beneficial trades to your franchise, the ones you wish hadn't quite gotten away, but just from a technical perspective, I know you said you were using this sort of a jumping off point to coding, but where did you gather all of this data from and what were some of the challenges you found in trying to collate it in a specific way? Because I have to say this is I was joking before we started recording. I'm going to probably sit with this all weekend and try to just look at a bunch of different transactions and what they spun off, you know, let's try to dig deep on whether the rays are really getting the best from their trades, but what was the technical process like for you in pulling all of this together? Yeah, so it all started with that when I was thinking about Roy halliday and I wanted to look up the information. It brought me to course baseball reference dot com, see all the transaction history. And then there's just a little disclaimer under the baseball reference saying that the transaction information is from retro retro sheet. So I did a Google about retro sheet and basically the entire my entire site could not have been done without that organization. It's very, very cool. What they do over there. So if you don't know, they just basically collect all of the transaction data from the 1800s and put it all in a nice database. It's open-source. Anybody can look through it and yeah, that's where the main data came from. How did you learn to code by the way? Did you take a specific course or? I did, of course, on did some udemy stuff. Code academy stuff, lots of just figuring things out by myself. There's a lot of that. There's a lot of good resources out there. Yeah. So you get the retro sheet info and then you have to figure out how to display it all. So it's not just getting everything into a table. You had to figure out user interface, something that people could look at to trace the trade, so that's kind of complicated. I imagine. And then there's a lot of data cleanup that you have to do inevitably with this type of project, and then I messaged you via Reddit and give you another assignment because I came across your site and thought it was cool, but thought of another thing. I could heap upon you that might make it even cooler. So yeah, take us through some of the other steps because you've done a bunch of updates and made it prettier and cleaner and easier to navigate. Yeah, sure. So once I knew I could I had all the data available to me, it was basically finding out the cleanest way of presenting it in the tree format. So I found there's just an open-source Google chart. I don't know how template that you can use for websites and basically use that to display all the information that you see when you go to the site. That's my biggest thing right now is actually I want to change that whole thing because I think it can look a little bit ugly sometimes, but that's for the future..

"Dusty baker, the Astros manager talked about positives in this game. Yeah. Just 'cause you don't get hits. That doesn't mean that you didn't have quality at bats. You know, as a hitter, you can't guide the ball. You wish you could, but you know, your job is to hit or get a good pitch to hit. And then, you know, try to make a good pass at it and hit it hard. And after that, it's out of your control. Astros outfielder, Michael Brantley talked about the performance of the braves bullpen. Yeah, they're a great bullpen. It's going to need that coming into the series. They're through high leverage, you know, endings in the postseason to get here. It's going to be a battle off full season, but we look forward to it. We accept the challenge. It's a great group. It's a great line of great team. We'll bounce back. Rabe's manager Brian said, talked about Charlie Morton and the question of whether or not his leg was broken while he was pitching. I'm not a doctor or all that, but I don't know that it was broken when he did that. I mean, it was stressed, but he felt okay and I think a lot of athletes have done that. I saw a kid foul ball off his foot one time when we were playing the mets. And he took a while, but he went back in the box, hit a Homer and his leg or foot fractured round in the bases. So I don't know that that's all that uncommon in these kind of injuries with baseball football, whatever players. Secret talked about how he felt in his first World Series game. You know, I wonder before we got here what I feel like when the game started, I felt like it was a baseball game. And you kind of get so tunneled in to what you're doing that you forget where you're at. It's just another baseball game. Really loud baseball game. Here's Travis Darnell talking about the Atlanta bullpen performance. Every single person in that bullpen has a huge heart has huge fight. I don't know if I'm supposed to say this, but they all got big Sue. And there's nothing where you want as the catcher. Here's brave pitcher AJ men are on losing Charlie Morton for the rest of the World Series. I mean, it hurts losing Charlie. What he's been to this team all year? I mean, everyone knows Charlie, his careers. He's a hero in the postseason. So it's definitely a blow, losing him game warm, but if you've been watching us all year, I mean, we'd just been answering the bell and overcome adversity all year. So we're just going to treat the same way. Next guy up. It'll be Tucker Davidson who will be added to the braves roster in place of Charlie Morton. Taylor, what do you got?.

"Remember because of off days or set up. You can do things like this. I mean, you can get four and a third from him of pretty good baseball. I mean, he was dealing. He made the one mistake, and he paid for it. But other than that, he really didn't give up anything. So you take that that gets you to where you can feel like you can manage the game. The Dodgers were in the driver's seat. The drapes de braves came, they caught him. It's as simple as that. So, yes, you can go at work or be there and push Scherzer back a day, but that is not the way Dave chose to go. And they end up losing, but it's still a tough move to argue against, I think. Yeah, a completely agreed. Again, one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't situations, again, you mentioned ureas coming in the 8th like you did last year. Absolutely. What he did on the mound against the rays last year coming out of the pen, I would argue to say, is the reason the Dodgers won the 2020 world no doubt. So playing that card again is not a stupid move, it just didn't work out and I do think again that the Dodgers will win this World Series, but Tony, I gotta ask you. If they don't go to the World Series, if the braves manage to take one or possibly two in LA, extremely unlikely, but say they do, and they go to go all the way to the World Series. In your lifetime, can you remember a team losing their all star MVP player? And going to the World Series because they got better after he got hurt. No, I can't. I mean, a lot of teams, especially nowadays with a punted on the season. They did. And, you know, hats off to Alex and thoughtless who we've had on this show before. He did a terrific job. I mean, he is got to be talked about in terms of GM of the year because of how well he was able to really put this team together after they lose Ronald Acuna junior who, at that point, when he went down, it was basically a two man race for the national league MVP. It was him. And Fernando Tatís Jr. and going heads up. Almost nightly, it was like they were one up in each other. They lose him, and as you say they got better. They bring in so there. They bring in Duvall. They bring in Rosario. They got Rosario, he was still hurt. He couldn't even play when they first got him. They knew he was hurt. And look how the dividends are paying off for them at this point. It has been and then you obviously have the guys that were on the team. I love Ozzy albies. I think he's a boss. Riley is having a terrific year, Freeman always does what he does. And because of that, they just play good baseball. They don't make a lot of mistakes on the field. And they got a good coaching staff. So this team was well put together by accidentalist and they got a legitimate chance. As you and I both agree that I don't think they'll do it, but they got a legitimate chance to get to a World Series for sure. And I agree with you on him being named executive of the year. The moves they make. You mentioned solare. And not to mention, you know, Travis Darnell coming back healthy, which has been very, very big. But the name you mentioned there in that trade. And I think this is the one that's really pushed them over the edge. And he's a former brave. Adam Duvall, what he has done over there, giving them some extra options in the outfield, not to mention with the extra options in the outfield with jock as well. You know, you're seeing them both kind of platoon with other outfielders and doing that ever morphing field. Adam Duvall has just brought so much to the table to that team. I was surprised they even let him go to begin with, but bringing them back was just a stroke of genius. This team has looked so good, not to mention max freed and game one, max creed. Whatever button he pressed halfway through the year where he realized he didn't need to strike guys out anymore and he can just throw 80 pitch complete games. Whoever whatever pitching coach said that to him, give him a raise and extend him against unbelievable this second half of the season. He has been their best pitcher in the second half of the season. That's the goal along with Charlie Morton, who has been his normal postseason self. Max Reed has been impressive. I saw him here in San Diego and he threw one of those CGs in like two hours, 15 minutes, very Maddux like, right? And he has continued that in the playoffs. He's pitching with a lot of confidence right now. So the question is, after you get outside of him and Morton, which the braves are at at this point, I mean, and that's the thing they had Anderson going yesterday. And he gave them enough to piece together that bullpen give them some credit too. That bullpen has been lights out, which was a tough part of their ball club last year. They didn't necessarily have those pieces of trust, but they're pitching pretty well right now. Yeah, I've been fun to fund the fun, fun to watch. But also on top of that, not to just throw this back at both of our faces because, you know, both of us have a very, very special spot in our heart about the San Diego Padres, but max freed former padre that could have been a popular man. Gosh. Both we got former Padres all over the field on that one. Everywhere. Just everywhere. And it hurts my heart so very much. Huge, by the way, Tony, getting away from the CSS and getting away from the World Series futures and everything that we expect coming up. Huge news yesterday. And huge news, ESPN's Jeff person, good guy, great friend of mine, probably good friend of yours as well, Tony. We've actually never discussed it, but he did a report yesterday saying that Major League Baseball teams will finally now provide housing.
