Doomsday Parents, Chad And Lori Daybell
"Laurie Velo Bouza forty, six year old mother of three married a fifty one year old father of five Chad Day bill. On November fifth two thousand nineteen in Kauai Hawaii. Chad's wife for close to thirty years. Tammy. Day. Bill have been found dead in her home just two weeks earlier. So obviously, they didn't waste much time remarrying. Stunningly Quick Tammy was in apparently healthy forty, nine year old woman infectious training for a marathon. Just, ten days before her death, which was October ninth two, thousand, Nineteen Tammy reported on facebook and the police that masked man had shouted her with what she thought could be a paint gun what's going on there right? Exactly. The other very interesting aspect is Laurie and Chad had picked out and ordered their wedding bands more than two weeks before Tammy Steph. That's right. Shoe on that one for a while right so October fourth to fifth tammy visited her parents Beck in Springville. Utah, where she's from and then a few days later on October nine, a man ski mask was shooting at her so I guess the police decided it was just some kind of prank because she thought it was a paint gun and they never found the guy, but it's very curious. WHOA, it is and it's really just the tip of the iceberg in this really strange case with all the suspicious occurrences just everything surrounding lawyer and Chad, his mess and very suspicious of course. Yes that's an understatement. So Chad Chad Day Bell is lawry's fifth husband. Laurie was born Laurie Noreen Cox June twenty sixth of Nineteen seventy-three in San Bernardino California and she grew up with two brothers Alex and Adam and two sisters Stacey and summer Alex Cox plays a really large role in this whole story so you need to remember him Adam lives in Kansas and he's worked as a radio personality, but he's pretty much out of the whole seen as far as we know so far. Stacy Cox died in her parents home when she was just twenty two years old and this was from complications of type one diabetes lorries remaining living sister Cox shift. Let was one of lorries, biggest defenders until June of this year, and that's when the remains of her children jj entirely were discovered on the property of Chad debacle. Now, people who knew Lori will have said that she really became a person after she became involved with shed she had been considered an excellent mother. And a good friend to many many years ago back in high school Lori was a happy energetic cheerleader at nineteen years of age. She married her high school sweetheart Nelson Jawans. This marriage is over within a year. Then when she was twenty two in Nineteen ninety-five Laurie Mary twenty-three-year-old. William but Sheila, and this marriage was in Travis County Texas. They had a son named Colby in one, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety six, and they ended up divorcing in nineteen. Ninety eight. So, by the time, she was twenty five years old she'd been married and divorced twice already. See and she has one child, and then in two thousand. One Lori Mary Joseph Ryan Joe Converted to Mormonism, and that was the religion it Laurie had been raised in. He didn't legally adopt coby coby took his last name. and. He and Laurie had a daughter together. That's highly in two, thousand, two and two, thousand, four in August Joe filed for divorce from Laurie. And it was finalized in two thousand five. In two, thousand, six, Joe Ryan filed a complaint with the court stating Lori was not complying with the visitation order. He asked she'd be held in contempt then August two, thousand, seven Joe is attacked by Laura's brother Alex. For. This guy chases show around with stun gun. He tased him twice and he threatened to kill him. Yes. So I'm going to ask probably a stupid question is this because of the divorce or because he took her back to court. I'm thinking it was related to the custody issue because the divorce was already finalized been finalized for over a year. But you know she was also looking at some trouble because she was in contempt of court. She wasn't bringing tighly for her visits and she was keeping tidily away from him. So, Alex Laura's brother was very protective of her and actually seemed obsessed at the time with killing Joe. Ryan the incident happened when Joe was leaving a supervised visit with his daughter Kylie and the attack ended when an eyewitness showed up. So Alex, pled guilty to aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury and ended up serving ninety days in jail, and this was in Austin Texas. But the custody battle between Joe and Laurie over tighly really got very dark at one point Laurie head to install cameras in the children's rooms and in the living room for the court to see what was going on in her house. But no abuse apparently was found from that camera footage but just so you know this was a really nasty custody situation. You're S, and then we have Joe Dying in April of two thousand, eighteen still young man. This was determined to be a heart attack they did not topsy, but then he his remains were cremated. This whole time has custody battle with over Retali- had continued to be ongoing, right? I. Believe he was fifty nine but he was pretty healthy and there were some strange things about his autopsy as well. Roy Yeah now the court documents say that Joe Ryan accused Laurie of parental alienation alleging that he had not seen his daughter for more than a year at one point. And he also referred to a court appointed psychologist who had interviewed Lori. And according to court paperwork the psychologist David, our pool

"Now, at into that the hacks can accomplish with some shortcut related apps that are currently getting away with murder, and the most wonderful way things like a jump cuts monge cuts all these different ones debt can do more with your shortcuts by basically providing as I understand it sort of like developer. A developer would have a library access like I don't have to go right all this middle ware for like how to make this work. They say hit you big dumb. Meet Finger on this button. We're GONNA. Install this. You'll need updated in the future, but now stuff can happen like for example not I mean I don't know how many people spend time with this. This tends to disappear in the early part of every Beta put always comes back home kit, not only automations for your house. And for everybody in your house there's what are called personal automations where you can go in and do some pretty freaking. Cool stuff like say whenever I connect well not when I. When I have become connected to a certain Wi, fi ap, do the following things. That's powerful location manager day. Yeah, I remember locations of those that can like you can probably. Probably against like all this stuff that involves yeah, it could be location. Could you offense it could be? NFC Tags, all of these different things, but like give yourself fifteen seconds to think about what you might want with something like that for example with home kit right now. If you have more than one home kit location in your life, it does use. SECRET SAUCE TO SAY OKAY WE'LL marines at the office now showed the office home kit at home now showed the house at so like think about the reason I'm doing that, is it? Is it just remembering which Wifi connection you were on? Do you know how do? I don't know if it's Wi fi gio fence or other, and it's not perfect, but it's pretty good, but I want. I'm trying to toss out in this very long symphony of. BLABBING is now now. Imagine let's. Bring all these together. You got widgets you got pages. Are you getting this? Selling Steve Jobs, but So now imagine. With the functionalities of Siri being able to know things, and with shortcuts, being able to provide things relevant contractually, my mind reels at which you could do with separate pages now. Your pages become kind of like. I WANNA say workspaces or expose, so imagine like your second page now becomes stuff I. Do for Work and when I am at my office. Oh I see where you're going. This S so like. Imagine that widget potentially I don't think it does this now. This is a very car of the future idea that I can easily envision within the year, which is that that page now becomes relevant and contextual to let's say travel. Guess what all the stuff on that page that lights up. It's easy enough right now to get local weather just current location rather than hardwired location, but there's that could be that your plane ticket shows up there. You know what I mean it could be something from wallet is all kinds of possibilities that I could imagine for this and so something. I couldn't have imagined myself saying two weeks ago. I was sand. Alex is you know? It was so great to clean up all this stuff with APP library, but like I can see myself going extremely android with this. At some point, you wear I mean I already find most stuff either on the front page or through a spotlight search I was so refreshing to shut off all of those pages of stuff. I never us until they need it. But I could see myself wanting to have. Certainly one. Probably to up to maybe three or four widgets on my homepage, with overcast becomes a widget, or whatever your pod catcher of choice, overcast would overcast becomes a widget. I can put on the homepage. That's for sure going to be one of the very first ones. That's something that's very relevant to me. I don't use apple podcasts. That's available as a widget, but you know what I'm saying. I just, it is right now, it is, it is a pretty exciting time. To be able to do that stuff? Of course things like Emoji search my God. Thank you on Ios. Not IPAD OS. Unfortunately, that's really weird. Whatever also calculator? Sorry, my friend! James Thompson he makes a calculator. Apple doesn't make one for I pet, but so weird. Read something. They were saying why that, but I didn't get to. It was either podcast or an interview or something really yeah, but I didn't get to business reason or a reason. Jordan didn't follow up on yeah anyways. That's all really exciting next. Look so odd to me. The Menus look so strange and like. I said last week. I think I feel like I dropped the NIB. I feel like some part of some package fell out of my resume and like now. I can't see things in the menu bar, and like it's also weird. It's a Beta what's an early. Early I. think that there's going to be more. Changes I think there will be bug fixes and subtle refinements in IOS before it comes out, but based on what I've seen a Mac. Os I think there's GonNa be some huge changes before that thing comes out and is actually released. Tell me what any by that? Well I've like. I said he could still a chance that the visual stuff I think has to change I think there. There's so many people talking about you know I'd I have seen it. I am not running it on my main machine. Dan It is is weird in jarring, and you know like for example I've already kind of gotten used to the rounded edges on stuff and I think it's kind of Cute I. Think it works better on a very large screen than a smaller screen. As currently my sixteen inch, macbook pro, and it feels, and I recently turned off the tiny tiny tiny. You know the display where you can go in and say this is how dance I. Want Text and visuals to be yeah, create the appearance of more space. Well I went up. Oh Yeah so if you click it on scale that. Yes yeah largest all the way down to more space. Here on Mojave on my Mac I have default, and I think at home, I have it on the one between What have I done too small to small between defaulted more space. On. The second from the right for me to me, but like. Isn't it I mean? I guess the first public Beta for Mac. Os I suspect might be telling. and See I don't know anything about this and yeah. I do have developed friends, but nobody. Apple's going to talk about this, but no gut is..

"Is that if you're white then it's. It's a non issue. I heard recently a story of. I forget what happened. Somebody had to. Break in or something where the police had to come to the person's house and and She had left her. Loaded up big Bong on her kitchen counter. And and she said that the cops were like not going into the kitchen for some reason, and she'd realized later that she had left it in there, and they were just they weren't there for that was the was the thing, so? It's not like they were looking to do that. But if you're a person of color and you're outside of a gas station in dark outside, you're going to get arrested, and then you're gonNA probably go to jail because of that. Join that you had in your pocket. And so people have been very upset about this for a long period of time, and oddly Austin has been the slowest one to adopt measures to address this issue, and this is something that's been is in the news a lot here. But like San, Antonio and Dallas and I think maybe Houston, all instead of arresting people. They would issue a citation, and they were apparently lax about citation and Austin was still like. NOPE, we're still arresting Ford. It's still thing and they tried last year two thousand nineteen. with tons and tons of publicity on this because the house a house here. Passed a bill to. Is They weren't legalizing it, but they were making it so that anything under. Two to four ounces was would be like A. Like the same thing as a speeding ticket. Because the way they used to get you back in the day was like on these I think dealing charges which carry a higher penalty right and. That was voted I've believe unanimous, not unanimously strong majority in the House and when it came to go to the Senate are. Lieutenant Governor Dan. Patrick said we won't even hear this in the Senate, so it was shut down. He wouldn't even allow it to be hurt and that upset a lot of people so not long after that more almost to the end of the story. The Austin City Council said that it is a huge waste of taxpayer, time and money to have people being arrested for this when the rest of the country understands, not only that it's, it's more or less harmless, but that it might even be beneficial for a lot of people and this is. This is W- we are going to. Pass a I. Don't know what they call an ordinance. I don't know what it is, but the basically say we do not approve of the police, spending, taxpayer, money, or time on this and I think also I mean you know if you arrest or poor person for we now you're also paying. They're not going to get bail. Pain to keep them until you know, they can be charged and tried and stuff like that. And then you've got the resources of like a court case exactly and we're paying for that. We're paying for that. And and of course they were very clear to point out that this is there are. Very, very big differences in who gets arrested based on race, and they said this is just stupid. It needs to stop and at the time. This was in January of two thousand twenty that the time. The Austin police chief said We appreciate what you said over there, but yeah we may continue to arrest. People will see well. People didn't like that so finally. I think last week uses July of two thousand twenty now. The official statement from Austin police came out that they will no longer. It's not like they're going to site and release. They won't site. They won't and and also the The city council ordered the district. Attorney's had already come out and said. That, they would not be prosecuting for any of this so venture there was enough pressure on the police department that they finally said find. We won't arrest for it anymore. You can have now have in Austin if you have four ounces or less I. don't know if anyone's seen four ounces a weed, but it's a lot though it's a lot of weed for that, we would get in. Florida is a quarter of an ounce, yeah. That now if you have four ounces or less than you won't be in any trouble for it, you, we will report. The police officer will have to write a report, but you will not be cited. You will not be fine. You will not be arrested the unless it is in association with some kind of felony that's being committed so I guess if you murder someone and have. Through ounces a weed than maybe that gets added, but But, so for all intents and purposes, it is now where I think California's maybe a decade ago here, which is to say that no I left out. One. One piece of this, which is that the? I think. You know there there's been this attitude here in Austin has been fairly casual about it for a long period of time, and so I think for a lot of people that I clouds kind of wrote down what we were all. kind of doing and thinking anyway, but it's a big change to see this happening, and it's also interesting that that at a high level in this brings us to the corona thing like our Governor Abbott. Is Very opposed to weed and things like that, and the chance that it would be legalized in Texas or even decriminalized in a medical kind of a way. You know like I. Think there if you have a certain kind of epilepsy. Then, you can get a certain kind of dosage Ford here, but that's like one place that you can get it. It's very very very very limited. But. We have drive thru liquor stores. Right we really do. Yeah I mean. This is this is. What an interesting time to have to remember. How what confusing and very very large country, this is you know because the thing all along with I. Mean whether you want to talk about the electoral college or whatever, but let's just talk about pot. Law as you say, we'd law There's a federal law where I'm pretty sure it still super illegal like as a federal charge. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the federale show up. That's going to trump a lot of local stuff. I. Don't I'm not aware care, but then you've got state law. You've got all the way down to. As you say like different levels of enforcement in different places, different kinds of multiplying penalties. You know in the same way that you know. Murder plus kidnapping is a really huge deal in multiplies the in the center, but It's also confusing and it. Here's something that feels like good news about leveling the resources that go into. Protecting community and that seems like good news, but like. Well, they also told conce to stop getting knees on people's necks and I'd hasn't stopped writing anyway well, that's good, I mean does good. Oh, good or news and news there. There's worse or news out there in the world. And the cove is going crazy there is that right well. Yeah, I mean the numbers here. If you know if you follow. This kind of thing is absolutely..

Do it for you, but you know here I am and now. Sitting here with my co, two of my hand, how are you? Oh, I have so many questions about Austin this week Dan. I got a lot going on here. I got a lot written down. Let me, go go to my document. Oh Yeah so if you WanNa talk about it later. It seems like there's a lot going on Austin right now. To you how much in which things you want to talk about, but it's my understanding. There's. Good News and bad news. The good news is you're not gonNA. Get A ticket if you're a marijuana person. Yeah, that's the that's the new so I'll and then the other. Is the corona stuff so? That was going to be the bad news. Yeah, it's a bad news. It's not going great Dan. which accountable if I could ask to personal? Travis Travis County Travis. County I used to love that show that was on Fox. Late nineties. It Travis Travis County Pi. Yeah I think he came on right after little house on the prairie. Think you're probably right before eight is enough. Oh, great, fill our lives with love So talk about anything. I got a few other things too well. The weed situation in in Austin has been interesting because I've been here for I say ten years. It's been more than nine years. So I round up. Because, if I said Roundup, see that again, so that again I've been living in Austin I would say ten years. It hasn't quite been ten years. It's been more than nine years that I've been here. So I say ten hours Iran. Long Yeah I remember when you first had your Bang Han in your own special. No Wow, it's been that long, yes. And then pretty cool about at that time or Like San, Francisco levels of Wackadoo but I remember I remember that one of the first trips that I made to San Francisco I was walking in that can I call it? Is it something like Union Square Union mark you something is. Yeah and there was a gentleman. lounging under one of the trees, they're smoking something. That didn't smell like tobacco and I thought that smells like weed to me. And I remember I was talking to you about it off the air I believe and I said there were like there was a dude like just casually smoking weed, and you said Yeah it's it's it's more or less been decriminalized here and I said. I was actually a completely new concept to me I said what does that mean and use it will? Basically it means that. That it's not legal. But it, but they're not going to arrest you or prosecute you for it, and I learn more about it than okay so flash forward to ten years. For what? It's worth culture I. Think I mentioned how odd it seemed to me when I, somebody who not only use smoke that used to be around smokers. Of Tobacco, it's it's funny. How like it's? Lighting up! A cigarette. Tobacco, cigarette as against lighting up marijuana dube. One is very culturally unacceptable, and the second is much more culturally except including on buses, which is fun. Media. A cigarette would be like Oh my God. You really like. He'll be like hit the lighting. M Eighty Oh do. That was my understanding back and it was at that point. I imagine it was legal for. Quote Unquote. Medical reasons and I'm glad we've. We don't have to really any SHERP. Fine. Okay. We'll Scott Medical, but anyway we're charade here and now you can get it delivered. Yeah, you can just can make a phone call or go on the web, and and so two hours here in Austin. It hasn't quite been that. It's it's been definitely illegal. And the the thing about Texas is generally especially old Texas. But. The. The big thing about Texas is personal liberty. Personal Responsibility. Just leave me alone. Leave me alone. I'M NOT GONNA. Harm you. You're not going to harm me and we're all going to be happy and it's it's. That attitude even in the more liberal areas like here in Austin. People still respect that kind of attitude. Which is you know? We're all here together, but like you know. We're doing. We're doing the stuff that we want to do. And so my my understanding from people who've lived in Texas and especially Austin. Longer than me is that the cops have always been lenient when it came to weed. If you're white. Yes, if and that's that was my next point. Sorry No, you said it perfectly a is that if you're white then it's. It's a non issue. I heard recently a story of. I forget what happened. Somebody had to..
