"Just a few four minutes before I step aside and the restaurant tours take over also an updated headlines on the way from Westwood One. News at the top of the hour. Look, I don't think that water is ever going to stop being the biggest issue here in central California. I think that there's a very credible argument to be made that as long as we have a a desert irrigated by man that the fight over how to keep that irrigation flowing and the industry that's built up around that thriving. It's just going to be a fact of life. There's always gonna be somebody who wants more. There's always going to be somebody who wants to give less. That said. Globally. Privacy gonna be the next is that really going to be the next big global issue. I guess you don't need privacy to survive, whereas the whole water and food thing kind of essential. But holy smokes. It just it just doesn't stop AT and T has now announced that they're gonna stop selling your location data as prosecutors call for a federal investigation turns out that AT and T has been selling their customers location data to third party service providers motherboard revealed a. This is this is the thing that just kills me. Motherboard had a reporter work with the bounty hunter who was able to demonstrate without the reporters permission. The bounty hunter could track down the reporter through her cell phone, which had AT and T surface. Now, there was already a congressional probe into Verizon's location data being misused by prison officials to spy on Americans who are not incarcerated at AT and T had really kind of push back on this saying that all these agreements to share your location data had clear consumer benefit now AT and T says, Nope, we're going to terminate all the remaining deals that we had even the ones that they claimed were actively useful and helpful quote in light of recent reports about the misuse of location services. We have decided to eliminate all location aggregation services, even those with clear, consumer benefits AT and T goes on to say, we are immediately. Eliminating the remaining services, and we will be done in March. Now, this isn't going to affect something that obviously would require location that you would directly tap into like a navigation app or yelp. It is going to mess with some of those funny little apps that we go and download because gosh in the moment, it just seems like such a good idea. And then you find out that like the movie theaters been tracking your location data for the last three years all of the carriers. Absolutely have to clamp down on use of location data for anything other than explicitly agreed upon uses the staff with AT and T. It's good. It's not perfect. But it is good. Unbelievable. Yeah. You can access the knowledge accumulated knowledge of humanity and your parole officer orenda, bounty hunter or a hacker can find out where you spend all your free time. I'm outta here. Guys. "News host who's protrump how about that can you square that forest gavin good question i know you mentioned the jungle primary and a lot of people are listening to say what are you what are you talking about so the way it works in california this was crafted by the democrats i mean it was it was it was a plan that they put forward and now it's law the state but it's the top two vote getters in the primary that go to the final dance the general election so you could have the top two vote getters are both democrats and they're going to face off against each other so it's it's rigged to go against the grain for republicans but i mean what are your thoughts certainly all of the republican candidates realize this what are you sensing from them knowing that this is such an uphill battle well i do think that in this particular race there's a lot of tearing down between the democrats of each other and of course i'm a travis allen support but i think last night at the debate open the eyes of a lot of people who are conservative republicans and they didn't even know about travis so getting to see him on tv his besseges been clear concise and consistent this whole campaign and i think people you know appreciate it being able to see him in the jungle if you will rise to the top the jungle matt and san carlos thanks for calling in from the peninsula we appreciate it all right there he goes matt says if he isn't he was a city councilman down there in san carlos so there you go on chaos if oh yeah so the governor rate it's listen it is an uphill battle in this thing was crafted for democrats to dominate but i like to see the infighting amongst the democrats.

"travis allen" Discussed on KQED Radio

"The places totally out of control you have sanctuary cities we have criminals living in the sanctuary cities and then the mayor of oakland goes out and notifies when isis going into pick them up and many of them were criminals with criminal records and very dangerous people you would say dangerous people and now i think the governor's doing a terrible job running the state of california and you know hey i have property in california i will say i don't think too much about my property anymore but i have great property in california the taxes are way way out of whack and people are going to move pretty soon and if you don't have safety meaning if you don't have this kind of wall the drugs are pouring through in california and do it okay i wanted to hear that because as i said it conforms to travis allen's position with respect to california where travis allen is i don't know we were supposed to have him connected with us at this particular time we're not hearing from him and things have seemed to have gone awry so what i'm gonna do is open the phone lines and ask you response to what you just heard from president trump who was here in california and who has spoken out very strongly not only against the governor of california but has spoken out and not minced his words to put it mildly about libby chef a mayor of oakland and talked about california talked about jerry brown is doing a terrible job let me just put that out for listeners to respond to and get your thoughts on because travis allen is mia here like to hear what your thoughts are particularly in light of the fact that president trump was here for about forty eight hours or so raised a lot of money in beverly hills was at the border we can talk about that as well but i'm particularly interested in hearing from listeners in response to what governor brown is characterized as an attack against california he has said that president trump has made is is a centrally declared war against california and you can hear from the words that you just heard from president trump that there are strong sentiments here that have been voiced by the president so we certainly like to hear from you any thoughts you might have and will open the phone lines.
