"And it's like, yo, who is reciting all of this for it to be out in the media. Then this comes again with trade this year. My one of my great concerns about a franchise would be, you have a franchise player. This is the face of your franchise. He's the one on all the billboards. He's the one everywhere. He's the one that sells all the jerseys. And you have this issue with him and the head coach. Again, you have the opportunity to stamp that out. So number one, you let it get to a point where they're both angry and next thing you know your star players not showing up and he's not on the bench. Okay, that's bad enough. At that point, you say, all right, people are going to ask about him not being here. All right, so what's our answer to that? And then Trey, when we're going to put you in front of a microphone. I mean, this is a $1 billion industry. And everybody's got full on PR teams. When we put you in front of a microphone, what are you gonna say? And basically, Trey young's explanation was, this shouldn't be public. I'm just here to win championships. But then, you know, hey, fine Trey and that reporter that was asking him the questions. He's sitting there saying, okay, Trey, well, it became public because you're the face of the franchise, and you're not on the bench supporting your team. At that point, regardless of the story, that's public. And he says, well, so why weren't you there? I was hurt. John Collins is in a boot. He was there. And then it's like, I don't want to answer any more questions. Let me get out of here, and it's like, hold on now. Where is the protection for this situation? Where is the damage control for this? Somebody from the hawks wanted that out. And Sam amick was on with Raja bell and Logan Murdoch and said that if you, this is the most it's earning. If you pull the hawks, he said he thought the players would if you have split them up, they would side with McMillan. That's the problem. If that so if that's true and the players would side with macmillan in this situation, then you've got a real problem on your hands. Look, this is a where there's smoke, there's fire situation. From what I've heard and learned, this is not a random one off oh there's like a miscommunicate there was major miscommunication like the chain of communication there is not great. But there's something going on there and look, so it was not a lot of complaining about Trey young when they were in the Conference Finals two seasons ago. When they beat the sixers in 7 games and then took two games from the bucks now Giannis was heard for part of that tray with her for part of that, whatever. I didn't hear a lot of like, oh, I would take Desmond bane over tray young. I would take so and sober Trae Young. But a Trae Young is not shooting the ball well. When he's not shooting the ball, well, that'll change. Everything is better when people make shots. Look at Dallas. The sky was falling in Dallas a week ago, Tim Hardaway started making shots another two games over 500 everything's fine again. I mean, we'll see. But the point is he'll make shots. I just don't, I think that that bracket broke pretty perfectly for them, starting with the Knicks who had no way to hunt Trae Young on defense, nor did the sixers really, and then the sixers obviously went through an internal meltdown, the ripple effects of which they are still feeling today in that series.

"It doesn't look good to me. They got walloped by the Knicks last night. Dijon Murray got hurt four minutes into the game. So discard that if you want something I'm going to write about tomorrow, first ten games of the season. Trae Young was running off like 12 off ball screens for a hundred possessions. Like the JJ Redick off ball screens, right? For him, that's a lot. His career norm is like 6, which is, you know, the whole thing with Trey is, will he do anything away from the ball? Will he just be off your television screen at half court or will he be active? Will he set screens? No, he's never going to do that. But will you run around? 12, that was encouraging. A month later, it's back down to 6 or 7, which means in the intervening month it's been like four or three. And you watch the hawks and yeah, their numbers are fine when Murray and young are on the floor, but stylistically they're not amplifying each other. They're not playing off of each other, they're not leveraging each other and the role players it's just all hit or miss all over the place. There's a deficit of play making other than Bogdanovich. Guys are hurt. I just don't like, I don't like what I'm seeing and I don't like the vibes. They're one game over 500. And I'll just say they're a team I'd watch over the next month because it feels like another three gate three losses in four game stretch and it could get a little tense there. Do you agree, disagree? What have you seen? Yes, here's one of the things that I would say regarding this particular story that came out by Sam amick. One of the major problems to me, which is something that Trae Young said in that disastrous interview he did in the aftermath. Was about it being public and while Trey had the disastrous interview in my opinion, he is right in that sense. Look, there are all kinds of things that go on within the context of a team and happen behind closed doors. The fact that the hawks have leaks on virtually every bit of drama that takes place with that team is what is mega concerning to me. You have that situation with the whole John Collins being upset last year and the Trae Young stuff. And next thing you know, it's there's like literally an exact recording of what Clint capela said in the meeting and what the meeting was like with Trey and what like, I'm talking word for word.
Fresh "Trae Young" from The Lowe Post
"Have to get out of here 'cause I don't need this energy in this house. So there's a Croatian restaurant near us that we were thinking about going to tomorrow, but it's just, I don't know. I want to watch party. Well, I'm still on the cautious side. On the pandemic stuff. So I don't know. It's also a ten in the morning, so we'll see. So it was just the two of us the other day screaming, screaming. You into this at all? Yeah, I certainly was at the United States, so my daughter is playing soccer on the club soccer. And so their coaches were like, hey, why don't you guys watch the World Cup and everything? And so she had gotten, she had gotten into it, which if I get her into it, my son is sports crazy. So he'll watch anything. And so we certainly watched all the United States games, and then if I have it on, they're not like uninterested or don't want to watch it, but we were pretty well tied to the United States and what they were going to do in the World Cup. And of course, yes, we all became incredible experts. Oh yeah, I know. Cross it. There's a space over there. Like, what the hell am I talking about? I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Yeah, by the way, I would like to apologize formally to a friend that I have not talked to in 25 years. Brad strobel, shout out to Brad stroll. Master of U.S. soccer fan in 1994 when the World Cup came here. And I was the dope in high school being like, soccer. That's a stupid sport. It's zero zero penalty kicks. What kind of sport is that? Brad. It's so freaking boring. It's like watching grass grow. Brad was right. I was wrong. A zero zero soccer game is exciting. I don't know. I say this all the time. I don't know how people watch these games. They're too intense. Every World Cup soccer game is like the last four minutes of warriors calves, game 7, 2016 when you're like gripping the arms of your seat. That's the whole game. It's unbearable anyway. Go Croatia. Before we get to the grizzlies, will you indulge me on a couple of teams? Let me hear it. Did you hear the Bill Simmons Ryan Russo listing of all the guards on the Bill Simmons podcast of all the guards they would take over Trae Young for the next 5 years and it kind of went semi viral within hawk's Twitter as they listed guard after guard after guard after guard and question Trae Young's leadership. Question is defense, which is obviously abysmal, question the hawks future. Did you hear that? If you listen to this. Yes, yes. When he got alvarado, I almost drove off the road. I mean, he got to bane after Halliburton. And Russo just goes, I'm in, Desmond bane. And I'm taking Desmond van and I was like, they are, they're going all in. I will say, I don't think that there are two teams that met in a landmark playoff series, two seasons ago, that feels like ages ago, and a lot of stuff has happened to them. Then I want to just sort of gently not raise alarm bells, but I want to talk about first set for a few seconds. And one of them is the hawks. And look, I don't really care to rank where Trae Young is or isn't. I will say this latest thing with Nick McMillan and skipping the shoot around and blah blah blah, it's always something there. There's just always, it's becoming one of those places where there's always something. There's always coach player attention. Player attention trade room or something, blah, blah, blah. Do people like playing with Trey? He's a great password. Do people not like playing with Trey? He only passes to get assist. He needs to get off of it early. Oh, he was doing that when they made the Conference Finals two years ago. He's not doing a blah blah blah blah blah. I don't like I don't like what's going on there on the floor. It doesn't look good to me. They got walloped by the Knicks last night. Dijon Murray got hurt four minutes into the game. So discard that if you want
Embiid returns from injury, powers 76ers past Hawks 104-101
"Well then basically the final 1376 is points in the fourth quarter to help Philadelphia for a one O four one O one win and basic consecutive baskets to give the sixers a one point lead with 18 seconds to play. It then had three straight free throws that sealed the victory. I just wanted to come in and fit in and, you know, whenever I was needed, that's when I felt like I needed to turn it off. And they'd finished with a game high 30 points to buy as Harris at a 24 Trae Young and Deandre hunter had 18 for Atlanta. Michael luongo, Philadelphia.

"I just, you know, and again, I do the same thing you do. I run a lot of these questions by scouts and coaches that I know and get their take on it. I don't think Rudy was as dominant defensively as he's been in years past. And the jazz were, you know, even in games he played him were kind of bled. They blew some leads in games he played in and look, they're just not as there's not as versatile when he's out there on the floor. Like the case for smarts, you know, look, you can run through his accolades. Top 5 of the NBA and steals, top 5, and defensive wind shears. He's first in loose balls recovered per game. He's top ten in defensive rating, deflections, charges, the Celtics. Had the best defensive rating in the NBA, per NBA dot com. And since January 1st, I was looking this up, they had a better defensive rating than anybody else. I think Phoenix was in second place by more than three points. That's a big gap between first and second, smart, was the head of the snake on that. The Celtics defense is a switch heavy defense. They switch everything on that team. And you could only do that. If you have a player like Marcus smart, who can switches all 5 guys. And you look at some of the advanced stats there, when Marcus smart does switch, more often than not, the guy he switches on, he doesn't score. I was listening to something quin Snyder said when he came through Boston recently talking about comparing smart to an elite cornerback in the NFL where you don't even want to go near him at times. Like if you have a guy being guarded by Marcus smart, you almost almost put him as a decoy out there on the floor. So I went with smart, like he is the key to that Celtics defense. He runs through a million screens, you know, a week. His versatility has just been invaluable for a Celtics team that had the best defense in the NBA. So smart was, I agree with you. Smart was my call. Yeah. Listen, this is always one of the toughest ones to vote on anyway just because, you know, this is not one that you can make it somewhat stat based, but defensive stats are kind of wonky and not as definitive. And none of us see all 82 games of every team. And defensive assignments and schemes have something to do with whether or not you are a good defender. Whether a coach considers you a good defender, you can watch a given game where someone locks up a player and think, oh man, God, that guy's been fantastic, but it doesn't mean they do it every night. It's really tough. I find that that one is the one I always do last because I just don't want to deal with it. It's hard to, it's hard to get your head around. It is not as easily analyzed, I think, as a lot of the others. Yeah, I agree..

"Out the context for why embiid's stats matter. It's not just that he produced all these gaudy numbers. It's that they were down a superstar in Ben Simmons and in the worst possible way. Was it 'cause he was just hurt. He was a net negative because of this distraction hanging over them. And the sixers could have absolutely just fallen apart and embiid kept them on course. He raised the level of his game to some astounding levels. He's been absolutely dominant and yes, in the face of what they were going through as a team that matters. That's not narrative. That's context. Just as the case for jokic is built on narrative slash context, which is look at all he did without his two costars. So people stop like the trotting out narrative in this pejorative way. Narrative just means story and story is just explaining the broader context of something. And so listen, embiid is absolutely worthy. I have no problem with your vote there. People going for jokic. I have no problem with it either other than, as I say, I think it's more important to continue to have a consistency about who the award is for. I don't care that jokic led in every possible advanced stat. It's impressive. It doesn't, it's not definitive. This was again one of the points I made in the column. Just because you lead in certain stats, traditional or advanced debts. It's not definitive. It's not authoritative and the MVP award has always been about more than just who had the best statistical season who had the most output. The context matters, the kind of team you're playing for matters. By the way, real quick, just as a reference point here, I know LeBron only played 56 games, but let's for the moment say that LeBron had played 70. And we weren't dismissing him based on games played. LeBron's numbers were MVP caliber numbers..

"Eyeball, as you point out, unvaccinated can not play games three and four, in Toronto, can't play a potential game 6, in Toronto, that could really bite them in the ass. And if they lose in the first round, man, the consequences there, not as catastrophic and end as what we just saw with the Lakers, you know, missing the plane entirely with their top heavy roster, but the sixers are certainly all in on this hard and beat alignment. Daryl morey is fully invested in this. We were already hearing speculation about Doc Rivers future. This is a very high stakes series for Philly. Yeah. I mean, yeah, I mean, look, Daryl believes in James Harden, always has acquired him from Oklahoma City back in Houston, watched him blossom into a superstar. But you wonder, if this series and this postseason doesn't go the way the Philadelphia wants, like, was he too loyal to him? Was he too fixated on him? Was there a better deal whether it was a Bradley Beal in Washington or some kind of package available from Atlanta that would have made more sense for Ben Simmons that would have given them a player that or players that fit in just as well alongside Joel embiid from the time I spent with embiid out in LA a couple of weeks ago. One thing you kept saying over and over again is like just put shooters around me, man. That's what I tell the front office all the time. Put shooters around me. Like he brought Seth curry a couple of times. With me, you know, during our conversation. So I just think this has the potential to have some long-term a long-term impact on Philadelphia if this series does not go the sixers way. All right, Howard, the time is now to reveal our MVP ballots. I am going to let you go first with your MVP ballot. So let her rip baby. Who do you have as your 2021 22 NBA MVP? Should I just spit it out or should we go from 5 up to one? I think you gotta start with one. Let's not, let's just go with one. Then we'll go down the list. That's the big deal. That's the big number. That is the big deal. The top of my MVP ballot, the first line went to Giannis under the kumbo. Oh. Giannis, I thought you were gonna go jokic. All right, go ahead, continue. After which we're yo kitchen embiid, fourth was Luca and 5th was Steph Curry. Okay, you're rationale then for Giannis at number one. All right, so listen, I know there's a massive amount of momentum for jokic and has been for months and I think he will probably win it and he's probably in many ways as deserving this year as he was last year. I voted for jokic at the top of my ballot last year. So I want to make that very, very clear. This is not some anti jokic thing. I'm not anti anybody. I voted for jokic last season..

"Like, is that supposed to, that was such a bizarre anecdote to use in that situation? Yeah, it was just this transparent play to say, look, I'm a good guy, and I tried to, you know, it's obviously his fault since I tried to connect with him and he didn't connect with me or something. But I don't even care if a player and coach connect, especially when you're not the star of the team. There are two guys who are more important than you on that team that Frank Vogel needs to connect with. You're a role player on this team. Maybe that's the issue. He doesn't see himself as a role player, but he is. And the other two stars have had no problem getting along fine with Frank Vogel. So to everything else you said, Paul George, everybody else. Frank Vogel is not the issue. Frank Vogel wasn't the issue. Frank Vogel is now gone and so he won't be the issue. The Lakers still have a Westbrook problem. The bottom line is they have to figure out if there's a way to trade him without giving up too many other assets. Can they get anything of value back in that deal? And if not what do they do? I can not can not possibly fathom. The Lakers going into next season with that same alignment of those three and with Westbrook in particular. They have to do something. It doesn't matter how much time you give them together. It's not going to work. It's not going to work true. Unless he turns into a three point shooter tomorrow to space the floor for LeBron and Anthony Davis, unless he turns into a defender tomorrow or a willing screen center tomorrow, a willing anything off ball movement. It's just not going to happen. I'll tell you this on that shooting front. When I was in LA recently, I asked Frank Vogel, do you see Russ becoming a perimeter shooter like Jason Kidd later in his career? And yeah, he said to me, he said, you know, look, we've talked about that. And didn't really take any further than that. After I asked that question to press conference, I heard from people in the Lakers organization that were like, he didn't want to do that. They'd be in rust. Like he didn't want to doesn't think he needs to. Add that layer to his game. And look, his shooting numbers, the last few seasons reflect that. They have gone down, free throw numbers. He's in the 60s again. He wasn't the 6th again, this past season. To just put a button on it. There's a chance. I don't know what the percentage is. There's a chance we have seen the last game Russell Westbrook played in the NBA. And that's kind of a wild statement to make given the level of player he has been for most of his career. Midterm election years, like 2022, tend to bring more unstable.

"Too much. I know how Atlanta is you were talking about buying finals tickets. It was too much chatter. You guys didn't earn this. It wasn't right. I think you guys are getting exactly what you deserve right now. We did not go too early. I don't even know what that sentence means we wet too early. We had a good season. And then we are now rebuilding. And we are in a real. You're not rebuilding. You're regressing. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I love being in tenth place right now. It's where I exactly where I want to be. It's like we're plotting for this great end of season run. Where we sneak in, I'll say maybe 7th. I just like, you know, I'm excited for the next couple of years of the hawks. I think we're still trying to figure out the full plan, but we got the talent, the east is like a wild place. I'll acknowledge a lot of teams, a lot of people are getting a lot of attention in the east. But I'm fine with my house 'cause I want us to obviously make the playoffs, but I'm not like, oh, bad season. The hawks run is over. We're just trying to figure out how to get to the top. I think that's a little bit too much optimism right now. I really do. That's all I that's all I can, that's the only currency that I have. John Collins just went out, it's tough. It's tough. It's tough times right now. It's tough. It's been tough before. Okay, now let's switch. I want to stick with the dogs, but I want to switch gears really quickly. We talked about Trae Young being the greatest. Potentially about to be on the track to being the greatest. Hold on, hold on. You talked about him being on the track to be in the greatest talk of all time. Now, I'm not in Atlanta, I love Atlanta Atlanta, has my heart shout out Luther, spent some time there. How much because I can't help but think this as much as I love Trae Young and what he is as the partnership to the city of Atlanta. I want to know how you would feel. If this guy, Anthony Edwards, was on your team right now. Would it be any different? I'm really just because full disclosure, this is Rembrandt's favorite player ever, Anthony Edwards. Loves ant man. If you were to swap right now, it's very young for ant man. Ant man get more love or less love than young at this very moment. And how would you feel? Well, here's the thing. It's a lot of pressure to come home. And put the whole city on your back. I think ant could do it 'cause he's built and such a real Atlanta way where he just does press conferences. He's like, yo, Kat used to not have swag, then I showed up, now Kat got swag. I feel like Trae Young. That's the same thing, but we don't believe him. Well, here's what he says. Here's the thing. And this is something that we can get into, but where most of the, I'm learning, most of the pop culture things that they run through quavo. Yes. I was rewatching Atlanta and I was like, oh yeah, quavo episode three season one, Atlanta. Oh yeah, quavo was there. Oh yeah, like I train a gang. Like Miko's Niko's literally made Trae Young happen. Nico's made Trae Young like a possibility and then Julius Randle's leadership gave us the full thing, which is like this dude is the dude. Almost like quavo was like, 'cause he said ice trade a gang before trave and got there. I'm here. Yes. He said, that is quavo's like a sports A&R. He's like, you know, trade's got next. So the thing is, something I've spent some time thinking about, like, what's the scenario where Cam Newton comes back? To Atlanta. That's going to be a mess. Because cam came up in Atlanta cam is like a legendary Atlanta figure, but it might be a little distracting. Like cam would be like playing football and also like in the streets trying to act like he's the mayor. We don't have time for all that. So I am not in a weak trade aunt for Trey. Well, I don't want my name near. Okay. That record. What I'm saying though is the city loves aunt and a unique way because he's a hometown boy. But not all hometown boys get it. Dwight Howard, not the same. And that's all I'll say on that. You didn't get your white Howard Jersey. A Hawksworth. Okay. It's just funny because when I think about the relationship between Trey and Atlanta, it seems on par, but it seems like Trey doesn't seem like he's outside in Atlanta in a way that. That's a good thing. It's a good thing. I just feel like Atlanta loves their stars to be outside in a way that could be detrimental. Trans perfectly outside. Trey is outside in the way where it's like, yo, like, Trey, you got a job. Sometimes in Atlanta, you could be so outside you forget you have a family and you forget you have responsibility. You forget you gotta pick your kids up from school because you're just outside. Trains focus, trade, trade steps out, the most important thing is the outside people fuck with Trey. That's all that matters..

"An augmented, there is really one place in one place only where we could begin a story about Trae Young. So just set the stage for us to man. Where are we when are we? It's June 2nd, 2021 in Madison Square Garden. It's the first round of the NBA playoffs. It's game 5 of what has been a contentious, closely contested, but ultimately one sided series between the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks. So garden filled with the best fans in sports came back as the Knicks come back, make the playoffs for the first time in 8 years. The hawks are up three one in the series and they're up 12 points in game 5 with less than a minute to go. And Trae Young has the ball in his hands, and he's dribbling. You can call it, or it's closer to idling really. He seems to be waiting for something. And then suddenly he steps back with his feet on the edge of the Knicks logo and drains a deep three pointer with 43 seconds to go. He then turns and walks to half court, glaring right back in an arena that had spent weeks glaring and cursing and one time spitting at him. And he takes about. As young fires from way down and takes him out. Not appreciated. It should be added. Yeah, no, I remember vividly all of the middle fingers, all of the signs that were being passed out to taunt this guy, and this guy, it turns out, was acutely aware do tune of the significance of the theater. Where he was. MSG is a coveted stage for NBA players. And it's been host to a bunch of statement moments and statement games, Steph Curry recently broke the all time three point record there. There's Kobe's famous 61 point game, which was then the record for most points in MSG. There's Michael Jordan's famous double nickel game in his 5th game back from his first retirement. You're mentioning a lot of visiting players for the record here. Yes. That's true. Unfortunately for the New York Knicks, most of the most iconic moments in that arena belong. To visiting players, trace says after this performance in a press conference that I know where we are. I know it's a bunch of shows around this city. And I know what they do in the show is over. So that's pretty much what it was. Which is a statement hawks prep CEO Steve kunan described to me as genius. Now Steve kunan has deep roots in Atlanta and was in fact one of the marketers behind Sprite in the 1990s. So this is a man who knows a marketing moment when he sees one. No, it was marketing genius do tune and had made, I think everybody in New York City realized, oh, oh, I really wish we had that guy, and that that guy hadn't just done this to us. Trey is the kind of player you love to hate, right? That's a cliched figure in sports. You really love him when he's not playing for you. But you're actually secretly desperate to have him playing for you. The next desperately I think hate Trae Young and hate the fact they have to deal with him for years to come. But it's clear as well that they really want a player like Trae Young. It is one thing to be an all star. Or a superstar, or even an MVP. It is another thing entirely to be a performer. A performer genuinely relishes the theater of the stage. And the spotlight and the pressure. Especially when that audience desperately and jealously, hates your guts, so today, ahead of all star weekend. Do tune akintoye profiles Trae Young. "Go be minus. Because i do love this. Little man spunk. And his spark in spirit. I love everything about his energy and his charisma. And i love his little floaters and i love his lob passes to capelle up but i don't love how many shots he misses because it is abominable. It is hard to watch after a while. And if you look at the numbers. Chris swept it right under carpet. He did thirty one percent thirty one percent from three. That's forty five of one hundred and forty four. That means that he missed ninety nine three pointers in just sixteen playoff games. It's just wrong. It's hard to overcome it. He did with his spirit and his fine in everything about him. And i love all those things. I everything you said was correct except you omitted the fact that he missed ninety nine three point shots which was second only to pandemic p who missed one hundred one three point shots. But guess what paul. George played three fewer games than trey and look at the overall mrs. They were tied for most mrs through the playoff games. Then trade played three games but they tied in total miss shots at two. Oh nine but again paul. George played seven hundred seventy six minutes to trace six. Oh three so. He just missing like crazy. He's missing at a rate. Nobody in the playoffs was missing it. And it's hard for your team after a while to overcome it. And then we get all the way to the game six at home. And he did. Suck it up tuffy out and he said i'm going to go play but shannon sharpe says if you're out there you have no excuse you get know pass. He shot four of seventeen and oh of six from three. It's just you can't do he. Joel embiid and the number one seed did that happen. When joel deep beat was limping up and down the floor is yeah. I know i saw no live got torn cartilage in his knee and sucked got radio tail. Okay so. I'm sorry. Miss shots giving a b minus. I'll give you all the things that you gave way to go. What about the knicks. The knicks beat them. I have not a lot of his. He is a volume shooter. And i think as if they can add better players i think he will shoot as much in his percentage will go up. I think nate mcmillan. We'll work on that with them but some of that is because he doesn't have anybody else on that team that can really create their own stuff as so yeah bogdonovich gala. Nari college. they can shoot. They can score but usually they need somebody to create it for the right. So he's doing that remember. Alan iverson percentages. Were always low in impart. Because he didn't have other guys that could go do their own thing with him now even when he did he he shot low percentage because he was such a volume shooter. But my point is that we don't have another guy. He doesn't have a devon booker. There or chris paul there or khris middleton there guys that can go create their own stuff so he's percentages could go up because the defense could pays attention to those guys and not just trae young also. Chris is that because he's so small in order for for them to to respect the three. He's gotta take three to make them hug up on him so now he can use his speed to get by. You hit that floater. To throw the a law or guest ball of the backboard. Well if i if. I might shoot three and everybody just go leg back off meeting. Well how can i get to the plane. Okay but don't call in trae as in t. r. e. y. Leong right because he doesn't shoot. Threes lies trae. Yeah t. r. e. y. r. t. r. a. Did you see that man shimmy on the mommy. And he's great for the big highlight he gets he but then he just goes cold. Those hurt you to my jojoy. Be with living down the court but this man he missed two games with a a bone bruise. But you don't want to give greater for that you don't want to say okay. He played well. I said he did but did that. Stop you from making a few more shots than four of seventeen you start doing. Be join the b word hurt. When he had a twenty six point we only got hurt create. What he loves to lead. Notice be debate team li. Nobody mentioned by season about joel. Embiid is about trae. Margai young be being compared to steph curry. And i'm like still kerr compare joel embiid. No i did use better than chef guy in denver for sure. No no go ahead. If you always say the reason you hold the brand is such a high standard. Because you compare new michael jordan. Nobody his of expectations are big part of it. There were no expectations on trae young. None of coming into these play offs so he. He blasted his expectations through the roof. I give him points for that because we didn't expect it. If steph goes out and does with trae does being here. We judging harsh more harshly. Yeah but nobody expected this trae young. Do you expect trae young to be this good right now. What you see right now. Did you expect him to be that when he came out of college. No i'll give you that. But sometimes he's pandemic trae on that. Nobody's just so much for joining us all day. Have a great rest of your days. And the angels. Shohei ohtani just made history becoming the first ever all starch. We selected as a pitcher and a position player. Tani has eight three point six. Era an eighty-three strikeouts in twelve starts. But also leave the majors with thirty one. Home runs the impressive. Two way player will also participate in the homerun derby in addition to the all star game next tuesday box so shannon. Has there ever been a comparable to achievement in the nfl or nba. Probably the greatest comparison will probably be chuck mcnair skip. Who was he was the last time two way player. Roy green i you remember. Roy moore agree with a heck of ruth. Even the hecuba quarterback any transferred over and became a full-time receiver but not not to this level skill. Not to this. I mean forgot to be able to. I mean this is. This is ruthie yet. That's the only thing you can compare it to because ruth was the only guy that could hit for power and with the great pitcher. So that's the only no all star teams the all star team. So no football no dea. Could dion have evaded. Let him play. Full-time offense could have made it. Both i believe he he he probably would have been only the point is could he have been a pro bowl receiver. Maybe but i saw him in one super bowl. Pittsburgh catch remind got hurt. I mean he played in a little bit skip. Yeah but i. I don't know the greatest two way player outside. This one showtime otani to me. Was michael jordan because nine times he made first team all defense while he was winning the scoring title. Well that's that makes him like case closed the greatest forever right. Yeah he did. He won ten scoring titles but nine times. I all defense. So isn't that two way but is it as different as pitching and hitting probably not. That'd be for him to be able to pinch like he does in the hit the ball. I mean these. Jeff would i mean met food. We had the most homers for a native born player. This kid got that at the halfway point now. Some believe you can't jeez. Wave for the game to keep track of the home runs easy and we know that game is not easy. Great stuff today guys. Drew play great in the two games without janas but drew play. Great in games one and two as well wisconsin's here at thirty. three points. tennessee's in game one twenty two and seven in game two in those games. He shot fifty eight fifty nine percent from the field. My point is this. He can play that well with jaanus. Jaanus does not hinder jrue holiday. So what that tells us is. We're gonna get the same kind of inconsistent play from jrue holiday. Yeah his numbers overall will probably be better especially poise. Just because he's gotta score at this point. But i don't think he's gonna be this consistent superstar without jaanus. Same thing but chris middleton. I think there's this feeling now that oh he's going to be you know twenty five to thirty five points every night now. The jaanus is there. Did you see him in the last two games. Well he's going to be the same roller coaster ride. That is all right. He yes he was great in those two games but he you look at the regular season. They played eleven games without fans. And chris middleton was up and down he had a six for twenty seven game. Fourteen points against dallas. He had a four for sixteen game. Sixteen points against sacramento. Both without jaanus. Who is not like he's gonna you know. Just save the day because now jaanus isn't there brook lopez yeah very good against atlanta obviously wasn't dominant in game six but he was good. He's not going to be able to have his way with the andre eight. And the way he did with click appel in atlanta. Now capellas a great defender. But he's smaller like the ayton is a legit six eleven seven feet. He's longer he's a little bigger. He's more athletic than capello or anybody. Atlanta hat so brooks going to have trouble there. Look john. this was great against phoenix. In the regular season i know is only two games but he averaged forty. That's the most the average against any team in the league that they play more than once and the key he got to the free throw line fifteen and a half times a game against phoenix so they clearly had trouble with him he somehow. He shot eighty three percent from the line in those games. We know he wouldn't do that in the finals. But still that shows. The trouble that yon is presented for phoenix. Oh yeah i. I'm not buying into all they can. They're better without. Yon is and they got a better shot of beating phoenix. Five up into tin five to ten percent without jaanus agree with you. I think it'll be a great series but it's hard for someone to win a series without their best player now. We saw the clippers. Play very well without kawhi and i know what they'd hack who i believe. They'll beat the sun. We saw them finish off utah without kawhi so that it really need. Why the clippers dead in that series. But you said something very interesting you talk about true holiday these last two games. I remember the first five games against the debts in the window by the talking about true true holiday. Being unleashed wouldn't even shooting fix the twenty five due to mention that. We know what chris milton is. We watched him last year. And the bubble without janas. Go get fifty chris. We watched him go. Get twenty points in twenty points in the fourth quarter against atlanta. Still back home court. We watched him. They'll get twenty three points the other night in the third quarter so we know he had this any the difference between here. John is that. I trust with the ball in his hands. Late in the ball game because he will take and make big shots that overtime game against the brooklyn nets. it was him that really field. It's taking that last shot but without yacht is somebody got to get get those twenty to twenty five shots so you would like to think it's going to be divvied up between holiday. Between middleton bobby portis gets into the ballgame brook lopez take his seven foot one three hundred pounds but down the block as clubbing around like a drawing or three point light. He can have some value to that even. Pj tug at ten shots in his absence. So somebody has to get those shots and the point. Get david up. Maybe holiday gets an extra three to four points a game. Maybe milton gives an extra six so for me candy win. I feelings like you to win this series. Even john i see is very minimal. Chance that would yacht as they can beat the suns and the best of seven. I just don't see it happening. I just don't see it happen. So i have a question for both of what is the history of janas through his playoff career in big moments. Big stage big games. What what's his history. Were you like a web firecracker. Good thank you. It's up in smoke down in flames one after another after another. What was his reason history. The last we saw him he's shooting to airballs from the free throw line and another air ball from three point takes the heart out of your team takes the hope out of your team it embarrasses everybody. It makes everybody uncomfortable with a superstar that you're trying to depend on and you can't depend on him. You can't really trust him. In the biggest moments is he sensationally talented. Obviously one in the he. He's the t. e. r. prints of the league. We get that in a vacuum. Are they better without. Obviously they're not better without janas. But what did your eye test tell you without him. In the last two games the ball move all of a sudden guys who have made all star team started playing like all star. They felt like maybe they're not unleashed but they're empowered. They're emboldened to be themselves to to be the best they can be. And i gotta tell you something's going on with. Chris middleton because he had to breakouts away from milwaukee which he'd never done before he's always been.

"I'm jay paul. We are straight outta vegas. And i'm jonas knocks voice of you the fan and rj. It's been a chaotic twenty. Four to forty eight hours in the ncaa as college. Athletes are now able to capitalize on name image and likeness. We've seen everything from division two and three athletes signing with barstool sports. There was an arkansas wide. Receiver signed with petsmart all sorts of fun stuff happening in game college athletics right now so i should say as a little tease. I'm going to have a full best bat here in about three minutes on the milwaukee and atlanta game six so just came up with a look at the numbers. It's it's an obvious one but name image likeness to me. There's two issues here. jonas one is. It's absurd that there were for so long these fat and happy. Ncaa types and if you've ever been or even observed any kind of bowl game type stuff. It's the swag. It's the party's it's the drinks. it's the shrimp. They put shrimp in their suit pockets. Aluminum foil to take home. It's shrimp shrimps shrimp. And then you've got kids who literally you could make. The case are the. I don't even think you make the case. I think it's a unequivocal. There are the main reasons. These games are popular. It's not the executives. it's the the players and they were supposed to be eating a roman noodles or whatever for fifty nine cents on a little hot play in a given spot. Now i get it. There's training table. And i get it. There's a lot of advantages that athletes have especially in revenue. Sports d one at certain schools. No dow but you know what they deserve that and more in the idea that have their parents come. See them play or something. They couldn't do it often times unless they did something illicit and it was like okay. Well that's fine. Just wink. Wink do it. But it's is negative. It hurts a society when you force people to break laws because if you make something illegal that should be legal and you don't enforce it you could say it's no big deal man just do it. It's a yeah but anytime the government whoever the authority is decides the you know we're gonna start enforcing that all of a sudden now like wait a minute you know can. Can they go after you even though they wink wink before. And then the thing is we all have a certain feeling when we do something that breaks the rules now. Some of us like that are certain people love break but most people don't like it to sort of force someone to break a rule to have what seems like a basic right or at least a basic benefit for being such a good player or even a division one player in a revenue sport. I think is absurd and wrong especially when it's contrasted with all the shrimp eating that's going on to me. Would i find the moore fascinating part of this. Is the whole title nine debate. So you know. Most people were no title. Nine is i think. It's fair to say a subsidy where the revenue sports will. How women's sports and these are sports that may be or or oftentimes or a net negative financially but because are subsidized by the football program with the basketball program. They get a chance to have a woman. Soccer team a women's tennis team etc and even saw a stanford when when there was issues of revenue. They were starting to cut sports a lot of sports. I think they've actually backtracked on that. But i mean the very fact that there are. These programs is driven by the revenue sports. So to me. That's a wonderful thing and anyone. That scene young women Participate in sports. I think it's unequivocal that. There's a real benefit to that. Now my point would be that now that you're gonna compensate. How do you say well. The women don't get it but the men do. We can talk about while the revenue generation. I liked the name image likeness. Because it's not about the schools given any money to these players. Let's not lose sight of that. It's the players being freed to to be compensated for what they should own anyway. This is their name their image their likeness and thus to be compensated for. That isn't what the school gave them. It's restriction that was lifted and the beauty of it is a lot of these women in some of the sports and art revenue generating have a huge social media following like collins talked about and they will make a lot of money from it so to me it feels very capitalistic. And very american. And i think it's a at least a good start in that direction and rj. We've got a good start to the weekend here for a lot of people as we have a best bet now in game six of the nba playoffs coming up tomorrow night. It is the box at the hawks and right now. Atlanta is a two and a half point favorite on pregame.com. Okay i'm shifting gears for my hot take my cold cash over heartache gear and i really like and we're gonna make a fool best bet on the milwaukee bucks plus two and a half now. We'll do a comparison here. It's real simple this handicap game. Three would be the analogous game to this trae young. But but but trae young wasn't how was healthy in that game coming in and that's where the interesting thing is but assuming trae young one hundred percent how the game three would be the analog the analogy and in that game it was milwaukee favored with janas healthy. Two by four and a half. Okay now it's atlanta by two and a half so if you do the math at seven but when you go through pick it actually is worth half as much. We'll call it a six point adjustment. Don't have to worry about the math. It's a six point adjustment. Yawn is worth about six points. So it's like okay. Healthy trae young healthy yawn is now we take on us away. We adjusted move six points. Two and a half is exactly right except trae. Young's health is a big question mark. There's a chance he might not play even if he does play. It's a great chance he's not gonna be one hundred percent so to whatever degree trae young's health is less than one hundred percent. It offers you perfect value here on walkie plus two and a half because if trae young were one hundred percent the lines should be two and a half the fact that it is and he's not one hundred percent is value full best bet walkie plus two and a half over atlanta saturday. Yeah what milwaukee did in this game that bodes well for a title run especially if they get you on his back and we're going to look at the quote unquote curse the nfl curse when it comes to having the meadow blog. What's the hard ducks hard knocks. That's right hard. Knox is the name of the show by the way mackenzie. We're gonna look at the bottom of the hour is take a gander at like the first four weeks because i think those It's kinda unique and then look at the last four weeks because there's a fatigue question because the focus of the show and also the theory is a little distracted coming in the beginning of the season so take a gander at that And again like we said. The milwaukee trend is so encouraging and it's about hustle in effort. And we'll get that in just a minute. This is the fastest growing fox. Sports radio on needs doubled last year. One hundred and eight degrees. The neon is pumpkin so rj. No janas no problem for the milwaukee bucks. They get it done last night. One twenty three one. Twelve the final milwaukee. Now one win away from the nba finals. Where do you think about sohn's jaanus. Yeah that's pretty good. Yeah it could be almost a song. His name goes well with a lot of things. If you pronounce it right a lot of people that ron. I'm not trying to name names. All right so what is impressive. Because what would you say atlanta. What was their real opportunity. How were they gonna win. What was their way to win. The game last night without way was shoot. The three right hit some threes. Get some three shooters out there. Well they hit atlanta thirty nine percent from three which is way above average. It's excellent for this team. And they may fifteenth threes fifteen may threes. Now milwaukee made nine threes. So that means there's an eighteen point deficit six may three times three eighteen point deficit. Milwaukee had against the land on threes. I this is a maker. Miss league i keep hearing but oh no. That's fine we'll give you those eighteen and win by eleven would happen but what we're seeing. Is that in every other way. Almost milwaukee dominated walkie had less turnovers or they cause more turnovers. However you want to consider right. They don't turn the ball over. Atlanta did more. They had more offensive rebounds. Now though atlanta actually rebounding quite well offensively milwaukee even batter free-throw. Ray another one of the four factors which is a famous way to look at the nba milwaukee and advantage so it literally was an example that you could give atlanta and they go about as well as possible. When it came to three point shooting. It have went better. But i mean this was a real good result for them three point wise atlanta and still they lose by double digits because things like turnovers things like offensive rebounds things like making free throws that's something quite frankly atlanta just isn't good at and trae young somehow is able to compensate for that his he and again. I'm just on this train. The trae young tran the way he transforms atlanta into a viable final. Four team where. I don't know if they're the twenty eighth best team without him but it somewhere in that range. Twenty eight twenty seven. Maybe even worse and i want to joe down to one last thing if you look at shots at the rim which is a staff that's capped and there's two issues with shots at the rim one is with the frequency is. How often do you get that kind of shot. And what's the accuracy. Which means how often do you make it. So there's a site called clean the glass. It doesn't good work with this kind of thing and rank in the percent. How so if you're the best is something. It's one hundred if you're the worst. It's one okay. The when it comes to the number of shots at the rim atlanta had was in the sixteen th percentile right really bad milwaukee was in the sixty nine th percentile. Really good if you look at the shots made at the rim. Atlanta did okay. Fifty-six percent thousand right around. Average milwaukee was in the ninety check that atlanta was in the twenty second percents. How walkie was in the ninety seven th percentile so milwaukee's really high on getting shots at the rim and they made a shocking number of them. Now you flip it and you see that at threes. It's almost to the shot. Milwaukee had less threes than they had more rim shots so it was like literally it was a trade off. It was like it. Lands gonna take a few shots at the rim and more shots at three walks. Take a bunch of shots at the rim. Less shots at three and lo and behold walking makes a ton of the rim shots which makes sense. It's right there the ram and then at three though atlanta makes more than you think. It's still not enough. They're made was sixty second percentile but you know what still not enough and he goes to show you which to me. Joan is if feels good a goes to show you that though the three is somewhat dominant. That jump shooting is important. The fundamentals that more milwaukee's coaching staff gets blamed for a lot of things. I think rightfully so but this is a very solid defensive team and a very solid fundamentals team into me without the superstars it felt like an old school game and what one was the fundamentals and it seemed like instead of them. Just saying all right. We don't have our guy that can get to the basket. We whenever we want and jaanus. So let's just stand back and shoot threes. They made a concerted effort to get to the rim. They made a concerted effort to this is going to be the easiest way for us to produce points for us to get to get things going. I mean they had four starters score twenty two plus points. In that game you know they. They didn't need a lot from their bench. Just because those guys played well enough and they weren't just sitting back there chucking up threes all game like you've seen a lot of teams. Do you make a great point. Right middleton twenty six points holiday over his point total at twenty five brook lopez leading it. Thirty three and bobby poor. Listen when you've got. Bobby portis sapping. You gotta feel pretty good twenty two though he took twenty shots twice. While if i'm betting and i'm like well which i ju- bet rj. I bet side. The bobby portis sharp twenty times. I'm like running running for the hills. Have no chance of winning. But the nice win now. Let's look quit. You know what we'll do in the last segment will look ahead at the saturday game..

"Only atlanta hawks with more than thirty seven minutes. But if you look at milwaukee arrested team and played since saturday yon has had forty one. Minutes middleton had all forty one and holiday had almost forty two so three guys in the forties from walkie. I don't know if that's you know again. They had a nice little break but man oh man now one thing you can't do. We're straight out of vegas on fox. Sports radio what. You can't do say Do you see how a milwaukee shot the three that. They're not going to shoot two three like that. Okay you're right. Twenty two percent on three pointers. Atlanta was twenty five percent so neither team shortwhile from three. So if we're going to try to excuse away by its maker miss league and they were just missing now. I mean to me. It was pretty even in that regard. It is pretty amazing. 'cause a macro concept in the nba as in big picture league wide has been has the middle The mid range game returned. I chris paul a lot of mid range. It feels like there's more mid range wise last year. Well if you look at atlanta they were sixty two percent onto pointers when they shot a to. Joan is they hid her sixty percent and again mid range. Trae young and that float or closing ause. Yeah and that was one of the things. They pointed out on the broadcast on tnt that it just felt like he could get in the paint whenever he wants. I think it was kenny. Smith who said look at the bottom of his shoes. It's probably green at this point because of all the time he spent in the paint. Trae young was not good from three last night. He was four of thirteen so it's not like he was doing. What steph curry does. He was penetrating getting to where he wanted to get and getting that shot in the lane and he had about the same shooting woes in game. Seven against philli. So imagine that game seven against philli. You're on the road. You shoot like crap and your team still wins in your kind of a one man team. How does that happen. Maybe he's not a one man team. I just. I'm looking at the box. I can't figure it out. But then you go to milwaukee who supposedly unlocked their greatness off that win against brooklyn and you shoot poorly again and you win on the road again. It's it's it's like there's something he's doing that isn't as obvious as it is with other people how he's helping his team win like this one last thought i dug into the numbers because my thought was mandate do better in the second half because remember we remember philadelphia second half they were striking against atlanta. I looked at the entire season and in the first half first half now atlanta's outscored their opponents by about half a point in the second half by about two points so over the course of the season they outscored their opponents by about two and a half points but only half of that one half of point was in the first half and about two points in the second so they were a second half team in the playoffs. It's more about the first quarter atlanta's been outscored by over a point in the first quarter and then they've out scored the team's by about two and a half points from the second quarter on so something we may look at if we're looking to fade. Atlanta in a game is maybe looked to play against them in the first quarter because this year and in the playoffs the early parts of the game not as good for atlanta. Were back if trae young get swept out does invalidate my point. I think it lessens it but it still would be impressive to get here if he gets the finals. I would make the case. I would make the case mackenzie tommy. You agree that it's him and lebron will be in the category of having done something like this this century one hundred percent i mean twenty two years old just like lebron was are you. Lebron was twenty two at the time in two thousand seven. We made the finals. And i would argue that. This team is a lot better historically better than a pistons team in two thousand seven. That was without their best player. Ben wallace at the time Hall of famer ben walls. But i will say this. I walk easy and it saying this backing you up. Walkie was the second favourite entering the year. Flame out last year in the bubble flame out the year before and the conference finals. Mock you put together to amazing years of regular season. Play amazing this year's regular season not as good but still good in a lot of experimenting in theory. If you look at the odds entering this season lakers were plus three fifty. Defending champions with lebron player of the century. Looking like at the time was healthy. You know get her last year. He got hurt the year before as healthy and maybe as dominant as ever fact. It was the halfway mark this year. He was the mvp favored lebron and number two at four to one milwaukee so the analytics people believe in those regular season numbers to their fault. Here's the question with milwaukee. And i don't think it bodes well for milwaukee to win. The title did beating brooklyn slay. The demon 'cause i didn't deem was getting to the conference finals now. I understand slaying a team that was favored to win. The title at the time is a bigger win than just advancing past an also ran an average team in the playoffs. But it doesn't address.

"Com. Go to the line archive but do it. Only for the first half and tell me what this line opened at the first half line and the clippers because typically something can get big enough that they'll adjusted but typically the books believe falling. It's worth. It's not worth our time to try to handicap this. We're going to open up these derivatives in a mechanical way do a calculation. And then we're going to take the early bat seriously so the people so. How many cracks did it take. How many limit bats it'd take the get and do you have that number. Yeah so it. Opened up clippers at one hovered around there between one and pick him in the last twenty four hours. A move to one and then one and a half. Okay so this an example where this system has gotten so big even the openers are accounting for it but a vast majority of the time derivative gets to be words bad out of proportion where it's where it's misaligned with the the parent market right the market it's derived from effectively is it's usually the the batter's are on it but the bookies aren't and you know what the bookies are smart not to care 'cause the momma most that ninety nine point nine percent of the time derivatives are going to be derived in a natural way from you know the bear market if that's the right way to say i'm not sure technically but so all the time they'd have phd's or one even looking over some hey put it out there. The limits are small enough. When these derivatives is the batting's lopsided they're going to move it especially with the whole market's moving right. It's not just one out. It's getting a lot of action so generally and even in this case you beat him to the pa- if you shopped at hard you could have got to pick them you so really. What we're saying is in this distance that you could have had less than how you could have paid the freight on less than half of it. You could've went from what you should have been which was plus one to pick so you you lost a tick effectively and then you would have lost one more. Take the one and another one and a half. Two out of the three techs came after the open right. Say even with something this known. The bookies might make a little adjustment but they're going to let the market decide now. Why did i bet the other way here. Because i think chris paul coming back and game three now you know if this sounds smarter not was something and i gave this on straight out vague. It was something that he's going to be cited. The team's going to be excited any sense of complacency not just paul will them not to be complacent. It's going to be that they're not going to be complacent because it's what's complacency is the same old thing we want to. We'll find no. It's not the same old thing. Daddy's home closing thoughts on this topic. I really don't see how the clippers after coming back. Twice from oto deficits without their best player are going to be like. This is the season this is our if anything they've already made the super bowl for the first time. In a fifty year franchise history making the conference finals. So i really agree with your handicapped. I don't see how we should make an adjustment from the game. Just should be this big a three point adjustment for half games like you said. It's almost a six point. Adjustment theoretically for one half based on a factor that may not apply to the clip point giant if it was over the course of the game but like you said is this is an however we think about. It's a major. I mean there's two and a half numbers here that are being affected by this move as we went over. And i think that's way too much and i'm not and i think you're right. The other side is the clippers. The third time being down to this is only the second time they're going home. It does kind of take the the edge off the intensity you would think and especially gets in the fact that they really think they can win the series. 'cause it's a twelve percent chance right now right or so yeah plenty plus five hundred all right so if you got a system that is a proven winner and you put it out there in the market or you put it out there for the public to see if it if it makes sense. It probably isn't gonna lies now. If you d you can pro. We can probably find a way to camouflage and make some money. I'm just. I'm just saying nothing. Listen nothing illegal nothing illegal. That's that's kind of my thing but you need to understand. It is not a gamble. It is a calculated risk. You got that mackenzie not a gamble. To calculate it's like rounders seen gets all head. Don't you realize the best players in the world or the table every year except that they're not and they weren't even but i like rounders can't lie. Let's move on how mother effing good is trae young. I had a segment on straight outta vegas. That i think we got to the heart of it and to me i talk about the directional the idea that oh it's easy to say trae young is better than we thought. He's a better passer than we thought he has. More guts than we thought except more showmanship. Yeah but the question is. Is he doing something. Now that they're up one one. Oh is he doing something with the hochstadt not only puts him amongst the ten best players in the league. But maybe something that we haven't seen very much of like we didn't even you know in a way you could say.

"Game three of the west finals tonight clippers win this feeling pretty musty teams that go down. Oh in three are all in one hundred forty three in those series. Lipson down to twice already this postseason. Though in fact someone on today's show didn't believe they'd still be around. I don't see that person. In the plasma the mutes going to go to. Emily ramona on the clippers. Another comeback without quiet especially after that dramatic soul crushing dunk on your face finished a game. Two this is a team that just seems to be at their best when you believe in them. The least i mean this is i don't know what it is about. This clipper team they. They're they're really good as the underdog. There really good when you when you don't believe in them and so i. I've covered each of these three series. They're coming back home and over the two games they lost in the first round. They were terrible in those first two games and they were at home against utah. Not that close. These two games have phoenix. Were actually pretty close. And i know the sons are going to get a lift because chris paul's is planning to come back and play tonight. He's been cleared and health and safety protocols. So he's he's he's listed as available for tonight's game but i i like the clip tonight at home but they have. They've really found something with that. Paul george terrence man combination their remote. Or you live in la. I used to live in l. a. It's drama is what it is. They are just leaning into where they're from. It's all about the drama. I'm gonna leave you. Believe in the clips. Do you know what they haven't done in a series is dictated or set the tone. What they've been doing is reacting and all the players. It's fine because tyler was bill belichick. He makes so much adjustments. But there's something even bill belichick adjust to. This team is gassed. Paul george specifically is so over taxed with leonard out out of all the players remaining in the playoffs. No one is averaging more minutes per game than his forty and tie louisville admitted that he's fatigued. Maybe it's affecting his shot selection. Maybe this is just me editorializing. That's the reason they miss those two free throws so yeah. Of course they've come back from before but it's a lot more heart is a lot more difficult. When you're that tired k. I feel like you are the opposite of me. I keep saying. I'm not going to let the kipps clips burn me. I don't believe in them anymore. And you're somehow taking the exact opposite stance with the same logic. You're exactly right. I mean up. Until now. I really refuse to charlie brown and let the host of this show hostess. Show be lucy and the clippers. Be the football but this time. I'm running up full speed and i'm kicking. Why because they are getting back. Cpa three they had campaign in his stead. Go for twenty nine thousand nine. He's playing with a high degree of confidence. And this is a team that just swept aside another team so this is a different situation. That the clippers are running into this time and i don't think that they're going to be able to get out of this. Oh to matter what you say. I am always lucy and i do often charge for my advice at a stand. So just keep that in mind. Jackie mac are the clips out of this already. I'm just curious. Lucy used to be five cents. What is it. What are we got. Twenty five dollars a minute. Wow ooh right here. My concerns about the clippers number. One they got out scored sixty two thirty in the paint in that previous game. I do not know how that happened with campaign. Is your starting point guard instead of chris. Ball mr never have a turnover. Clippers only forced seven turnovers. And here's my third big issue. Marcus morris has barely played in the second half of the last two games. Why that matter for one. He brings incredible physically to this team and number two. He's the key to their when they go small for that small lineup which i think really benefits them against the phoenix suns. So i'm skeptical. Bill bell check or not Yeah.

"Years. Old somehow is trae young on his way to superstar. Status or ramona is already superstar. Oh i think he's there. I gotta be honest. Like he has everything you want in a star he's got personality swagger like he came into the league and we all wondered. Oh is it was that trade for luca doncic is going to be the right move there. He's in the conference finals. Luca was home in the first round. And i was so impressed with luca but men trae young is translating to winning right now. He's not empty stats. He is translating to win it be on his way or already. They're already there. he's been there. I bought his shoes back in further. Worry of twenty one all right because of what he was already doing. This guy is incredible. What you just saw him do last night has never been done by a player before in a conference in a conference finals. Put those kind of numbers. These electric watch. He's fearless on the road. He he enjoys it. He even said that he liked playing on the road in middle school because he liked the fans to get back in middle school. And you can see that. He carries his team on his back. He is the new steph curry. Put that one down in thirteen playoff games. He's already avenue more points and more assists thirty ten than did steph curry in his expert. What i'm looking for. Hey great nugget about trae young and middle school. Where'd you get that. do you know. Jackie maybe perhaps something. I wrote out drinks. I'm not sure i will say this. How do you stop trae young. You could shoot from the logo. He can drive to the basket. Hit that floor. And by the way while he's driving to the basket and you think he's gonna hit that floater instead. He's gonna throw up. The clint capella or whomever else. He realize dan. Ben simmons tried to stop him. All defense drew holiday. Tried to stop them last night. All defense but the thing. That impressed me most sarah and the reason i put him in the superstar category is now. He's making his teammates better. Because he's averaging over a ten ten assists a game in every time they win and that's to me puts him in that staff back u matic sounding like someone who wrote a story about him. I'm really last word to you. I'm one the professor. He's averaging more points per game than steph curry's eight points more per game those thirteen games. That's incredible the audacity of this kid to take those shots. The disrespectful alleyoop the shimmy he just does what superstars do he can take over a game. You see that would lebron. You see luca and now you see that with trae young so fun to watch. I am loving this playoff the young superstars. Let's go to the. We got.

"That's a knockdown guy. He's got what he go eat. And you see south. Curry was eating right. And they missed danny green. They missed danny green. A lot of people say this. They missed danny green. And you need to bias joel to perform better to your ben simmons point you cannot ignore jacoby you cannot ignore it is strange it is unique. It is awkward for everybody will your perennial. All-star will not tip shots outside of the paint will not attempt shots in the fourth quarter. Especially when he gets a uncontested dunk down low against trae young. Who's been talking smack to the crown who's been talking smack to the other team like i would have thought he would have purposely ducted just because it was trae young you know how all of a sudden james harden went into his back when he saw yanni. You know that's how this game works like i'm hurting off. But you only off you like all right. I would just have to get hurt. Jason i five between the leg step. Bang bang bang. So if you're been simmons yes jacoby value. Yes i still believe him yes. I was still worn them on my team. But you cannot ignore how psychological the game of basketball is and that's got to be a huge challenge and hurdle for him to overcome any shooting with the wrong hand when he goes to the free throw line shoots with his lap when he's driving to the bucket finishing twitter's right. It's been happening since college. That's another issue not going to change. I believe what is a part of his mental hurdle that i think. He's still obviously needs to get you know emotional hardest goes out to. They lost a tough game seven. It was close and then joel embiid so that was a turning point in the game and then here his name just in all of a sudden he got traded to every team in the nba in the next twelve hours after that loss. He was traded to every team in the nba. Jalen i have some news for you. You're pissing pistons. have nothing to trade for bets. Even look like you'll have anything. Don't you got some fall. We'll give them the luck of big being at the draft. We'll give.
