Preseason our last season openers now and again those those are just the things that we have to continue to learn from our experiences and You know. I try to spend time with joe torre even if he wasn't here talking through things as a play caller and a head coach that i thought i did well. I didn't think i did well. Because i need him to think that same way and he's going to be in a situation on the field having a process sometimes in the moment More that we can think. Similar the situationally. The better and so again. That's part of just just. The meantime is spending it with them and making sure that He sees it like the coaches do and again what we just want. Cincinnati bengals to win. And i don't care who's responsible for. It does not matter. We want the city to be excited. our team is certainly excited. And we wanted the team and the stadium to match that Enthusiasm that we have a and so that that is going to be critical for us in week. One and we have give this city in the stadium. Something to cheer about But we need that to come from them. We want tactics stadium. Be as loud as possible. There was very limited fans in the stands last year so teams going on silent. Cadence was not a thing last year. Nobody had to do it So you so. You're practicing it for the first time this year and a lot of ways and so for us to get a home opener week. One with with hopefully a fully packed stadium being as long as they can possibly be on the first third seventy game. You just heard from taylor and this has been extraordinarily interesting all season and i think it's yielded an extraordinarily interesting football team. And there are a number of different questions and storylines and things that will start to unfold on sunday but looming over all of this. This season should determine the course of this franchises going post. Two thousand twenty one. This season is a referendum on. Zach taylor and duke tobin and you can't talk about one without referencing the other. It was striking in january early february of twenty nineteen. When the bengals announced zack. This franchise has to start winning football games. i think they're going to beat the chicago bears. I think they will beat the jacksonville. Jaguars i feel comfortable in saying they will knock off the detroit. Lions green bay. I think they lose at pittsburgh. I think the bengals have a decent chance of having a better record than pittsburgh wouldn't stunned me if they win. Need to believe it before. I see it especially on the road i know they beat him late last year. My guess is they lose the game but they're underdogs on sunday going to be underdogs against chicago next. We're going to be underdogs in all likelihood at heinz field probably slight favorites against jacksonville. Underdogs against green bay. I think by the time the game gets here. There's a chance there favorites against detroit. But i don't know that it would stunt anybody if there slight dogs. I think this game on sundays. A coin flip within the first six weeks of the season though there are opportunities for wins which could set the course for a pretty successful year. Which i think is somewhere in the seven to eight to nine when range. Obviously anything more than that. And you know you're thrilled. But i think it's about a seven win team but that that sort of assumes that this team at least doesn't dribble down itself over the first six weeks and put itself in a position where now they've got to play catch up against a scheduled over the final. Ten weeks is really really tough..

State him for a big event like that. It was awesome. I mean You know college football. Half of the half. The deal for me is kind of the pageantry pomp. The atmosphere of the game and a game like Where its two top five teams and the crowds split about fifty fifty but it was loud from the outset and You know one one. Half of the stadium was allowed at the end Fortunately the right half but it just felt so cool to be able to go back to event like that after you know i was trying to figure out the last football game i was at before that would probably had been close to two years And just has jazzed for football season. Last year was obviously so different but You know beat that that game. This past weekend's got me pumped. We'll get to the card on saturday and sunday. But i think that week two in college. Football's always interesting because recent impressions sometimes can be very misleading like as an example washington lost a montana and yet they're catching less than a touchdown at the big house against michigan. That seems a little fishy to me. And that is one of our bigger liabilities. Right now is is actually michigan Both money line and given the six and a half game. That's one game in college this weekend where it doesn't look like however many points. Young people are gonna take michigan in that game. And and you're right you're right. I mean people have that reasons debiasi. What washington did this past week with. Kind of inexcusable loss. Really But michigan just lost its best receiver and catching six and a half. That's that's probably a pretty good candidate for the smell test. It is all right What i wanted to do is i wanted to start with just the nfl season in sort of a macro prop preseason look and then we'll look at the card on sunday but let's start with what you're seeing in terms of you know where maybe the public action is on totals win totals teams that that the public's fallen in love with and maybe in some cases you know where you know sharp money's come in on We are going to be some of your big needs on some of the preseason. Nfl props so a lot of tampa money Both super bowl super bowl standpoint and standpoint and over windows standpoint we actually. There's only six teams that we have a liability on for the super bowl as a right now and you'd be surprised at some of them You know you you would sink some early. The chiefs would be one of them but they're not It's actually the the sixteen we have our tampa the bengals. The browns the cowboys the lions and the steelers. And i i kind of get the cowboys in the steelers republic teams or fans are gonna take money but i was shocked. Cincinnati's money we had exactly. There are second biggest liability behind tampa bay right now for the super bowl will impart. That's also right because the odds are are long so that means that. What did you have a significant number of bets or just a couple of large bets. It was actually a bunch of smaller bats. You're you're right. I mean it is. It is to a degree A function of the of the price which But but you know at the same time we actually one of our other. Bigger liabilities is on them to win that division wedding it. It's it's over half a million bucks on the bengals to win that division which is our second largest. Nfl liability of all the bets. Right now so it wasn't just people betting i mean they got that down from one hundred fifty to one to one hundred one And the division. They got bet down. I think it was thirty. Two one to twenty two to one so people are playing them. And you're not gonna move a number that much unless you're you're confident in the action. You're getting so it leads me to believe that there are some people who really liked the bengals at those numbers. i i don't see it. Maybe you know. I guess borough we'll we'll be back but At the same time. I mean i don't know not division with those three other teams. That's a tough one to endorse. I mean i. I look i think burrows going to be. I think he's the real deal but he's coming off a very serious injury in. It's not a great team necessarily around them. And they just they lost trae wayne's as well at corner and they open up as a three point dog at home against minnesota What about washington. He drafted they would be like far and away ahead of the entire. Nfl now. is that working particularly. It was working. Okay they were. They were making the playoffs. Losing usually under marvin lewis. Now you look at their different. It's all free agents from other places that were mostly letdowns in at least at some points like dj reader ogunjobi hendrickson von bell from dallas. You got trae. Wayne's mike came in just a lotta guys from other places in your county on lou albano to just make it work that i'm usually doesn't work that they are. Everyone says like the middle class of free agency is kinda dead star except for the bengals. They're all about the middle. I'd have to think green bay would be up to too. But i can already see a trend. I can already tell what's gonna happen on this show. If cleveland starts out like one in three or four two and four. It's like here. we are cleveland. I'd one nice season and everyone's over it now. It's like they've been an. It's an offseason whether it being a little overrated now. At this point it's june people are tired of that and it's going to be exhaustion. Sit in you know. The saints can be good for like eighteen years in a row. The packers can be good for twenty-five. But cleveland had their one season. Now let's have the bengals come nipped them in the butt and stuff you know take them from fourth to third third or fourth place and the steelers suddenly are seeming. Like there's so much better than cleveland and we just trust the ravens and the whole you know what that's why have knicks shook. Who is about six foot. Three and built of bricks to start throwing punches. If you guys get to loose on this front you better keep it. Keep your traps closed. I'm good like we were going to a hotel and you're like i found my baggage so are you. Can you figure this out. I guess so. And i'm walking around with this like sort of rather strange colorful bag that belongs to kevin stefanski and then the dream ended. I didn't fulfil the jets on any level. What does that dream. So that you're kevin stefanski is like jockey his bag. I was like the guy that would be like. Hey can you do us a favor. Can you just you know. He's gotta go. Go bring his luggage to the complex. I'm not seen another five eleven to one last year. I've not seen that. What i'm seeing is a bagel steam. That'd be more competitive albie a lot fun to watch so let's look at the five winners and losers for the first wave of bengals free agency still more work to be done. But who's benefited.
