There is the argument that he should have a tier two designation instead of tier. Three if he did you would add four points. And the new orleans. Pelicans are twenty-eight tied for second with boston celtics. The advanced analytics don't agree. Nba general managers and scouts. That i talked to were split on this. But most of them agreed he was more tier three a really good start on a team but not likely to be a pretty all star. Which would get you the tier two. I designation. the other guys are all sort of tier. Four guys on the pelicans. One guy that. I'm actually maybe a little bit more bullish on the analytics are and then the scouts were. Were nicole alexander walker. A guy who played really strongly at the end of the season for the new orleans. Pelicans i think he could easily be a tier. Three guy and i wouldn't even be surprised if he's tier three. This year i thought maybe tier four was a little bit low. I think there is some confusion about how he's going to be used for the pelicans this year. Also trae murphy. The third their draft pick in the two thousand twenty one draft really good in the summer league is your classic. Three d stretch guy. He's at a tier four ranking right now but he could end up being tier three cure lewis. Who was there twenty twenty. Nba lottery pick last year tier four designation but could could end up being tier three guy as well so still a lot of talent there for the pelicans they will lose brennan ingram. Who's twenty four years old in next year's rankings. But i i think the the. Pelicans are making the playoffs this year. So they're gonna get another lottery. Pick as well and so. Maybe they're going to be able to balance that out in new orleans so those five those three teams are tied at five. So now we're gonna jump down and look at two teams that are tied at eight. That's the oklahoma city thunder who had twenty one points minnesota timber wolves also tied at twenty one points. Thunder do it by sheer numbers. They have a whopping eleven players on their roster under the age of twenty five. That's crazy they only have one guy who's really at that star level and that shade. Guess alexander who gets the tier two designation. Only twenty. Three years old had incredible season before getting injured for the thunder last year. Certainly a guy who is going to be all star worthy down the road as a point guard..

I think i think he is above him right now. In the in the rotation like you mentioned brandon mentioned that toward the end of the year last year. Maybe that was. I can't remember if it was toward the last few games. Or maybe that was in his end of season media availability that he would like to have a little bit more time with z and he went from basically average. I think he averaged almost the exact same points per game. He twenty three eight twenty. Three eight is. That's look exactly the a shooting even a little better thing. But his zion numbers went from the one thousand nine hundred twenty points a game to the twenty two twenty three. They played more together so they started to figure out how to play off each other a little bit more and i. I wonder if willie green is going to like you buy into that a little bit more have jv and whether it's jv in santa rant skier davey and devante. Graham you have capable players you can run you know essentially your second unit and see where they go from there. Yeah i think and look. I think this team should be a really good offensive team. I know they fell off a cliff last year. You you talked about some of the factors. That are why. I think this should be top. Ten mighty mary pessimism should be good offensive teams. Ion is a world beater. a couple of things number one. They're never going to get all that good defensively for a sustained season and tells ion decides he wants to be good at it and cares about it and they have not they essentially have given up on ever playing him at center. Which i think is one of the most amazing incredible fund. Just fun just like popcorn. It's not gonna it's not gonna be good for you but it's going to be held a lot of fun to watch down the line in three or four years you hope. That's an option they can go to when they're becoming a really serious team and the other thing is you mentioned you. Look at his numbers. They're they're the same shooting. Percentages are really good. I wrote a big profile him at the beginning of last season and it had a line in there. About how one of their coaches are. A couple of their coaches would always tell him when you become the pippen to zion's jordan and they weren't comparing them to those players just sort of the archetypal one and two of a good team. That's when we're going to take off and what that meant was your numbers are good. You're shooting is good and this. This is the eye test for me to something is just missing in terms of all of that translating to winning and i keep coming back to two things his playmaking. Just b b minus and he has the potential to be better and defensively. He just hasn't been good enough. And i think i just think i still think there's another layer to him in another level to get to. Maybe i'm being a cockeyed optimist. But i think there's another impacting winning level. That be i can get to and and you can talk about all the editions and all this attractions and all the changes to me. It comes down to those two guys committing in those two ways and then this team can be atop eight offense in an average defense and then you have a roadmap to be in pretty good right now. yeah absolutely. I think when you look at brandon. I mean he's still they kind of use both of them as their point guards right lonzo was really the the full core point guard and then once he got into the half court it was. We're going to you're not. You're a little bit down the line of what we're doing z. Once he got the ball average. I think four or five assists game. Once they really started to commit to points on ingram average five is's but they they still need one more playmaker with that. You're just because they can. Sometimes i think brandon can get a little bit narrow in his focus on the offensive end e just need shooters. I think i really like zion's vision as as points island. He was just getting into guys. Who were shooting. You know not not great percentages. I mean eric bledsoe was out there for most of the time or josh hearts three pointer created under to see you know where where he can get to this year but if for me more so than they can be a top aide offense for them to still be that average defense. I think not only the z. And brandon need to to commit on that end and and and take that jump in like you mentioned there. I don't think they're going to really take a jump jump until z. Commits on that. But i think brandon has to do the same. I do think their their off-season editions hurt them in their ability to get there because graham is way worse than lonzo. i think valentina. He's a way better offensive player than stephen adams and i think will really help their offense. I think he's a slightly worst defensive player. Did stephen adams well. he's okay. I think how they they craft a competent defense is the most interesting challenge for willie green. At as you mentioned last year they started off with this just bucks. Pack the paint extreme helping recover scheme where they were just hemorrhaging threes. they couldn't execute it. They changed it. They dialed it back and they got a little better. I think alexander walker. He's he's six six and long. He's got the potential to be a pretty good defense player. He has a reputable wild score. First offensive player. You've got a potential pretty good on that end. Which is why. I think he has a chance to start And herb jones of her jones gonna make the rotation but the buzz out of practice is like i've heard somebody told me we were starting to nickname him. Not on herb. Like not hurt. You ain't doing that on her of that on her. Not on her. I don't know if he could shoot up. But i'm excited about what i hear about his defense. He he impressed enough right away to get a guaranteed contract. They knew that. I mean he's one of the second round picks we know the trend right now for second round picks trying to find a two way deal forum or do they were giving him to guaranteed off the top and he was key he was a guy who in in summer league looked like a guy who could guard one through five in in the summer league setting. I don't know how that translates to to actual nba games. And i think he will spend a little bit of time in birmingham with with the g. league team after. Move down here. He's going to be a very interesting player. But i really liked what trae murphy trae murphy is going to make an impact. Sooner rather he's he's playing at one. Oh he oh yeah you you could could make the argument to me that he you could put him in the starting lineup in sly beat brand into a two or whatever you wanna do or how you wanna do it and i would be okay okay but based on those workouts and based on what i've heard i mean what i saw in the league. He's going to be hard to keep off the floor of this team. I think they're over under his forty and a half something like that. I'm i'm i think in my pre the returned in all the record. I think i had them pegged at like forty two and forty. I'm afraid i'm afraid to have any faith in in the steam because they're just so weird every season. They've had three coaches in three years. I just i look like and again. I think it's probably a good thing that a young player like cairo. Lewis might get squeezed in the rotation because they have so.

Seemed like a reasonable flyer but but obviously did not work out it and seems headed for getting that nonguarantee exercise the as well but they did get beasley in any so new sticking around so that was a that trade with denver. Seems like a a reasonable one. In retrospect so You know four again. I wouldn't say that this trade really changes things too much for either team. Yeah i think the the wolves maybe get a little bit better for this europe but they also still give up on whatever upside wacho and culverts still had generally when teams give up guys like that. That means they don't have upside left to explore. But you know you can also say. Hey that upside wasn't gonna be realized in minnesota. He needed a fresh start. They got anthony. Edwards who is pretty much the same size as culver even if they're both gonna to three ish and oh so one other note from minnesota we don't know and their draft pick is going to have a huge factor in how much spending power they have minnesota by clearing off culver. Who they could have just declined the option if they wanted that flexibility and heron gomez like there is a possibility that they have cap space. I don't think it would be a significant amount. We're talking more in the fifteen million dollar range so often in that area. It's better to actually stay over than they could retain some of their pending free agents potentially including beverly or prince if they wanted to but there is a possibility the real challenge for minnesota in terms of creating. I call it usable. Cafes like twenty million plus is most of their salary for twenty two twenty three is tied up in a small number of players and when that happens it's very hard to open up additional space. Because then it's like morgan. Trade carl towns. You can trade dance russell. You trading link beasley. Those sorts of things are much harder to do than. Oh you have a five million or ten million dollar player. That isn't a key part of your future so you can think about like goran drawing. It's theoretically though that was option but that's sort of an idea of okay like player reasonably paid. Not a part of your core can make that happen. But so minnesota conceptually could make some noise in twenty two. But i don't i don't see it coming instead. They'll just have some more wiggle room under the tax are. Who did what a lot. i mean. day so to kinda separate out the two trains they did because i think that's worthwhile. Because they were taking on less salary than they were sending out they also As had an additional component where they said chandler hutchison to the spurs of that was with a second round pick and so they walk away. Adding dinwiddie caldwell-pope kuzma heroin holiday. They drafted kissed bird. Fifteenth in isaiah. Todd thirty and they lost westbrook as mentioned than in free agency. Robin lopez ish smith. Alex len izaak bonga. and so. that's that's a pretty massive overhaul for the franchise. Yeah and of all the things you bunch and really liked the west trade. John and i talked a little bit about that Just getting some depth more payroll flexibility. Going forward as well. Supposedly beal was on board with this. Of course Their grade may change depending on beal's signature or lack thereof on contract essential and she'll be eligible to sign in october so that was all pretty good and they've got a number of good players at this point who can fill out their depth. They really struggled with depth couple years ago. They still were able to keep back. Hold natto as well. Who is an important backup for them. And you know the twenty two for holiday and number thirty one which was todd. I haven't had a chance to watch todd. That much from several yet. Holiday to me is an interesting flyer. Ican also plays some backup point guard as well so i liked the dinwiddie to me. Was maybe the second best guy to change team or at least the potential to be that and he really i think he could give them as much or more when you consider the totality of his contributions is even as much more than western did last year and also may be a better fit next to build do superior shooting where did what he is waxed and waned on that but compared to west It's to be good. I think he could be better. Defensively than westbrook and underrated passer. And yeah just to get solid guys. Like kabul pope coosa herald is gonna be a very nice backup center for them I think they've got some different looks now that they can provide at center really like the other than kiss bird really not a huge fan of that pick. Not upside guy. Other players were on the board united. Trae murphy on that. I would have been much more filling a need for this group in the long term to get to get some more wings than their Singapore obviously was the available at that point as well. Jalen johnson was available At that point i did. Actually i like isaiah jackson as well and yeah he did i summer league who spun garuba could have been interesting to are a lotta guys below kuenssberg and on a similar wine a i i. I'm not super positive on his asia. Todd either. I think that he can. I don't really see his place in a rotation of next ability is plenty of space to. Would we be on this team. Can they send some of them to the to the timberwolves. But but yeah. I i think i see your point there. Because he's doesn't really profile is like a great defensive player kinda like a scoring four. You know louis. The type of thought showed some ability to move his feet. So i wanna. I wanna see more. I'm not closing the door and it's not as extremist something like caleb swan again when he went in the late first couple years ago where it's like. Oh i have no idea how this can work but i. I think it's a harder fed and we mostly saw todd through our film work on to other g. league nighters jalen green and kamenga. But i didn't love. I didn't love what. I was actually surprised to see. Todd go that high in the dacian knicks who actually liked much better not get drafted at all. But we'll that's a separate thing so for me. I gave the wizards in a minus one way of framing. This is that even if russell westbrook is everything the lakers want him to be. I think this is a really nice move for the wizards. They can diversified their resources and got a bunch of players who who are capable who have reasonable contracts who they have less money extended moving forward that makes sense with in without bradley beal and to be able to do all that and bring in spencer dinwiddie who makes sense with beal who can who could be a part of it and being so reasonably paid. I mean it's it's seventeen million eighteen million and then a partially guaranteed eighteen point nine that becomes fully guaranteed if he plays enough games. So i think.

"Wow this class has a chance to be extraordinary. I mean we saw jalen suggs making outstanding play after outstanding. Play his game for orlando scottie. Barnes shining for toronto jalen green. Just looking extraordinary with some of the step bax but it wasn't just the top ten guys. It's down the line. No we're seeing so many good performances trae murphy going off for the pelicans we're seeing flashes up and down this entire first-round into the second round. And you know like you said the college basketball year was not great for a lot of different reasons but this draft class itself could be really loaded and you know even though it might be overreacting just after a week or so some summer league games and just a couple of days a vegas summer league here with all thirty teams there. Yeah do this class does really have a chance to be special. I thought it was very interesting. You're certainly right. Nobody in the top five biggs will say so. Far deals anything. But great about their situation. Given the debuts of cunningham and mobely barnes and then who am i missing who was green so great in his first night right those five guys and inevitably somebody's not get a pan out and you look back and once upon a time we all got crazy nervous about trae young at summer league so again. It's not the end all be all i. I am of the opinion that when you are watching these guys. I'm looking for in many cases. Just what is not summer league good. What is something that you see them doing. That is easily translatable. And that's the great thing about these guys. Is that so many of them. You watch them and you say that is easily translatable to the nba in the end spaces space right if i could come behind the screen and occupy berry shots. Like that's going to happen as soon as it starts right. If i can split guys off the dribble if i've got great footwork if i'm a dog that tried to block everything at the rim like all those things are translatable right. Sometimes you're going to have good shooting night some nights you not but there's a lot of things you can look for. I think and i think there's a real reason to be very very optimistic. In many cases of these rookies All the way down the line. You know you were talking about you. Know trae murphy. I watched the game last night. That had cam thomas in it from lsu who averaged twenty three points a game for lsu. I mean he. They said he's going to be able to get buckets. There's no question he's gonna get buckets in like it wasn't even super-efficient night for us. Nineteen point six and sixteen but it was the way in which he generated. Those shot opportunity saw him get to the line get to the basket. His ability to create space off the dribble. Like you said guys are going to have on shooting nights off shooting nights like you know. We're not overreacting hair to to to summer league games for some guys one summer league game for others. It's just about like trae murphy. It's not just that he's hitting standstill threes. That's going to space before his eye on. Its that he's full on sprinting. Up the floor catching the ball hopping to stop and elevate straight into his jump. Shot in draining threes. All net is the fact that at six foot nine. He's showing the athleticism inside the poster donkey. He had to play. Maybe some four zahn maybe five well however you want to state it..

I am this confusing. Because by all accounts zeile liked him. I mean he's talked about like how him and brandon. We're like the future of the team and they were building something there and it's like what it's like. These moves davonte graham. I'm sorry he is. He's the one of the most over players in the sleep. Healing one good stretch. He played great for like. I don't know forty five days and suddenly like everyone's like look super super streaky. I'll give them that. He is a guy that can hit ten. Three's in a game. You're like whoa. And then he'll go on a whole bunch of games where canada shot like. He has not a great shooter. He's not a sharpshooter. That's for damn sure. He just wants to chuck it up. That's the big thing for the pelicans. As having somebody who's willing to take those threes because zion doesn't wanna take him ingram is not necessarily a three point shooter though he can shoot them well. Enough lonzo made himself into a three point shooter but he finally started shooting last year. Like actually getting them up. I guess though at least graham attempts them as the thinking here maybe got keep them honest out there one of the craziest things but they traded a first round pick. That's wild to me. They could just matched. lonzo's contract brought him back. i think he was a great victory. Zion obviously griffin. Doesn't think so. But this has been a very weird very very weird off-season for new orleans. Yeah they're on a lot of people's lists here today like the losers list. I guess from free agency. Just some of these moves. They've made leeann to add to what they're doing down there or are you just as confused and disappointed for them really. Because he's zoe on has had two seasons and you wanted to see this season be the walmart it's like. Nah they've got some legit credentials here to get into the playoffs and make some noise before zion's rookie contract extension can kick in there. But instead i think i'd have taken a step back for sure. Devante graham that forty five day. Stretch all buzz about that man. Yeah thirty seven percent the last couple of seasons from three. So that's from the field. Unfortunately yeah that's a modern day type of guy who's like i can. I can get those threes up. But yeah it's sometimes he could have. He's the type of guy could have forty points. But you could still lose by twenty. I think he doesn't really really drag team to victory so yeah four years forty seven you can and listen if he does lonzo ball trae saw andreessen defense is getting better and it's young and as i said earlier you know. Lonzo definitely has his his drawbacks as far as consistently de but the thing with devante if he was to some have become a very reliable consistent. Shoot at the net. Contract is going to look right but it's after three seasons. It's like he definitely comes in and out. And i'm not sure you can really rely on him to be consistent it's got a good fantasy team griffin building a solid fantasy team. I think we had a good fantasy question from a man rhino sets which rather have devante graham and keep relief so five years of davonte grammar. Five years of kobe. White devante.

I think could play anywhere from two to four in a certain lineups. And i think what zion things i heart. He's going to be tough to build around because he's like a five but he doesn't really rebound protect room and there aren't really many floor spacing shot-blocking bigs right but murphy is a i think at the best. Best case scenario can be a multi-positional defender. He was a very efficient shooter. And we have a guy like zion. Unique floor spicer's so i like that pick. Herb jones Expected back alabama guys for for the pelicans. He's a justice versatile intangible guy that should be able to contribute to winning basketball. So he's not there. So what a sacramento. Do i guess they could. You know maybe try to Make a deal to move up and give give the warriors something to return or they could take the guy. That actually is even a bigger analytic starling. Then franz wagner. That's alpern sin. Goon i out of turkey. Who kevin pelton. Who does the analytics work for. Espn just ranked as the top player in the draft from his analytics models. That he's had. I've talked to several other teams and folks that really dive heavily into analytics. They all love sin. Who are they after Why did they move up into the top ten right now and i think the answer from all the sources that i can hear is that that is franz wagner. That they're after at ten the problem in at least in the mock draft. That i'm putting together is that he's off the board seven. He isn't available at ten. And now it puts them in the conundrum of okay. Who else do we want on the board. I was told that memphis is really looking for d wing. Someone who's athletic construct the floor and can defend and i can see why franz wagner would be interesting choice there. The other names that i'm hearing are more interesting. Moses moody fits some of that three part for sure the deep part probably certainly has linked but he lacks the elite athletes and elite size for the position. Josh giddy out of australia. Who doesn't really have three or d To his game but he is a big playmaker at an excellent ball. Handler and excellent passer. And i'm not exactly sure how he fits in memphis but hearing quite a bit that he's a guy that memphis could take and then finally is your williams out of stanford who probably fits the bill. More of what they're looking for is a little bit of a prospect. A little bit riskier. And maybe they're just not comfortable taking him at ten. The same way i certainly in my opinion would be and and i think that zaire might be a really great fit there. I but i m putting josh giddy here right now. Is we want win now players when you guys know plus when next season that's the most important thing i don't know if lassen showed us anything they just need guys who can eat eat minutes like they need guys who can stay on the floor who can relieve. So you don't have to play and push steph like. There is an ongoing discussion through the season about kerr's reluctance to push steps minutes. I mean ideal you guys who can fill that void who can can take some of that off the one thing that always kind of irks me even talking about the warriors and like team building is that even though they had all these hall of fame players pretty much a top four five. You'd want at any era like for any team. They're always talk about how they needed. A shaun livingston andrea swift allah is just like at a certain point. Like how much do you actually need in order to a team like i. I don't really give them the benefit of doubt when they're saying like the issue for this team is not having a former all star in in order to fill in in your backup minutes. That's like i always annoying. I think that's what warriors fans get so upset about sometimes. Still let's just pick and roll steph curry and stop running receive kerr's very complicated system like we have the superstar. So he's kinda my dark horse At that spot so real wild card slot at seven large mark is the trade potential but then either because they had that second. Pick it really go few different ways. Magic are at eight their second pick as well again this this draft kinda starts around six or seven so it's sort of like that foregin the road and go different ways and then there's a domino effect and maybe maybe a team like orlando's waiting for a guy gets drafted already. Then they'll trait. There's a lot of domino effect here around this. Stretch it in the back half or the two middle part of the lottery so to speak so at eight the magic ano- obviously because of that fork in the road you're limited but where would you. Where would you suggest. So if the magic draft. Scotty barnes right. Then they need someone who can score the ball because the reality is with scotty barnes like. He's not a great score. He does everything else. But he's not a great score. And then you look down their roster and you know. I still come back from injury. Both these guys. But marquel foltz jonathan isaac neither of them and their franchise cornerstones. Either of those guys. Great scores you know. And so i think that's kind of what they've needed So certainly jonathan coming is there. He can really score the ball. I think that you know could make a lot of sense for him. you know. I look at moses moody as a potential option there You know he's got they need shooting. And then they like length on the perimeter. So that's who we have mocked there. Now somebody who could face. The floor doesn't need the ball in his hands. gives you some length and a little bit of versatility so I think he's a guy who makes a lotta sense of his over under but I think has ranged by starts at seven. Maybe get some looks there And then you know anywhere from whites seven to ten feels like that he. He's he's certainly risen. So that's that's the name that comes to mind. We mentioned franz wagner You know. I think if he's there he would he would potentially being played to So those are the names that come to mind at that spot especially if they take barnes you mentioned these risers certainly a little bit of movement there with moody. We saw him. Brian with arkansas muscleman that run in the tournament so fascinating fascinating so then we get to the kings at nine and feels like everyone saying wagner there but if wagner could be off the board it's really interesting sacramento obviously not the best draft history so kind of a wild card here. Yeah i think it is. I think it is. I if if franz isn't there you know then where do you go in. You know you you've heard at times like okay. Maybe they're looking to get a player from this pick. You know maybe they are a team that trade back or trade out you know. They've got during and fox. They've got tires haliburton. I think showing that like. Hey we can be potentially a playoff team. And we can you know build around this young core Maybe if your guy franz isn't there you know you move out I think you're hoping that one of like franz Book tonight or Moody is there. You know i think putting another shooter around Those two playmakers would make a lot of sense. It seems like you know. Maybe they bring back sean homes and free agency so they kind of figure out there. They're big spot. So maybe a wing there Could make sense so those are some of the names that come to mind. I mean maybe corey casper. That's maybe where his range begins But i would. I would think moody And i would think franz both guys in play there okay. Ten gets really interesting because the trade yesterday between new orleans and memphis now. The pelicans are. Excuse me the grizzlies are now at ten. What do you make of who Who they may be targeting or why the move up. Yeah i mean you the more you know. Donald aronie reported yesterday. I believe that this might be the sign of more moves like they. They might be angling to get even higher. You know they might be trying to get up to seven right and maybe for you know. They're looking at the the whoever's leftover book night and coming. Maybe they're looking at you. Know a guy like franz wagner because they feel like they need to jump ahead of sack you know. Go get him That that could make some sense And if not you know. I think josh giddy is a name that you'll hear Just because he gives them a little bit more basketball like you another ball handler. Just because he wanted shooters in the draft. He's very accomplished. I could dagga. You know he doesn't. He's great in transition kind of filling lanes and stepping into threes. And that's how lamelo likes to play so He's one that i'm. I'm very intrigued by their. I think if moody's there yeah you look at him not sure he is. You know you start thinking maybe about trae murphy at that spot if we're talking about shooting Kyd jones maybe like a Outside chance there just if you're looking to take more of a swing But i feel. I would feel like decent as decent as you can with the eleventh. Pick that you know probably kissed it would be in play yes kiss. I got an interesting Over under because he's thirteen and a half so it sounds like under your pretty solid on because you hadn't maybe as high as nine but that would be reach but in that eleven range shooting at ten. Yeah yeah exactly and maybe again maybe eleven is the start of the range and you know you get twelve You know or the spurs what you're looking for that kind of guy or the pacers really looking for that kind of guy i think pacers.

This point in guys like moody is raised. The stock giddy has really good momentum behind them wagner. It seems like the entire league likes so. I'm just hell bent on getting this particular guy at seven and you're taking him well if that guy is the great franz wagner who we keep mentioning the and you think he's not gonna make two nine then maybe that is something you think about you know like if you think he's a top five player in this draft and you got to move up to get him You know maybe that does make sense. And i think he's highly attractive. Just because like i mean he he might give the other day he he might be six ten six eleven now. He's younger than jalen suggs. Evan mobely sheriff. Cooper like a lot of the freshmen in this draft. So i think team see him as a guy who can come in right away in play like three positions In has a lot of experience. So that's that's why is highly coveted. And that's why. I think that trait could potentially make sense. If they really are in love with him to me it feels like sacramento is more likely to move down or out of this draft them up. Because you know the talk you hear around the league is that they really wanna make a playoff push next year. And they're looking for veteran guys. They want contributors. They are really looking at bringing rashawn homes back in. So i don't know. I mean i mean it's an interesting trade but I i feel like sacramento here. More with teams behind them at thirteen. It seemed i still think forty eight hours out. The most likely scenario is the warriors are just picking two guys at seven fourteen. But i don't know how. I don't know what the odds of that anymore does it. Does it do either of you disagree. No i think you keep hearing that. They're gonna take one swing at the highest prospect. The best long-term prospect on the board which could be jonathan coming seven. And then they're gonna go safe at fourteen. I mean they'd love to get debut on. Mitchell is probably not there so started looking at guys. Like chris. Dr dre like trae murphy. You know shooter zek and play a role immediately. So that's what we're hearing right now but anything can happen over the next fifty four hours or whatever it is what about derek whyte acne derrick derrick way does john say murray and number twelve for wiggins in seven the spurs probably say. That's too much white and marie or too good so then we go like what about white pertile in some filler wiggins and seven then i think the warriors and then i just gave up i gave up. Let's stop talking about the freaking warriors win the play in tournament. And we'll talk about you a little bit. More basketball season has come to an end. "They're real strong. Ben simmons seem bill and as of right now tuesday. Nine eighteen am eastern time fifty hours or whatever before the draft. There's been no credible buzz. That bradley beal is going to go to washington and say it's time now and we're just running out of time so absent that right. The warriors are still trying to win the championship. Next year the warriors just saw steph curry heaven. Mvp level season klay thompson coming back condition. Td draymond green. Just finished third and defensive player of the yearbook can't score anymore. Whatever you can still do lots of stuff like you're gearing up to win now even if you can't get bill. So i've been tinkering and toying around like is there a way. The warriors can use one of their draft picks. Yes they had this dream megadeal in mind. It's not in play right now. It's not it may not be in play right now. You're trying to win. can they. Seven or fourteen to get like a pretty good player who could help them this season because they do need help this season. Fourteen is kind of a may asset like. I don't think you're really going to get too much for fourteen. There's this idea like they can't really use oubre as sign and trade because the calendar does it lineup. That has to happen late. They can't they can't negotiate that now. We saw what happened with the puck. Simple donna vich. Last year everybody got slapped on the wrist. They have some middling contracts like looney pool moulder li they can together and on the high end they have wiggins. So i'm sitting here trying to build trades where they include seven but they moved down only a little bit like to ten to nine two eight to twelve maybe too far with san antonio and just get guys who yeah. This isn't a dream but they help us win this season. The problem is going to be. If there's someone they just love it seven that false them. They'll probably just take that guy and say we're happy so this is all stuff that could happen on the clock but a schmitz will start with you is there. Is there a warriors trade back scenario. That you like it all jonathan. I about it a little bit yesterday in online. I mean i think if you do move back to ten and he just said it and you can get a guy like you know. It's a little complicated. But if you can get a guy like anthony melt in there you can get a guy like brandon. Clark or xavier telnan. You know someone who would bring a little bit of toughness. I mean i think melton would be awesome you know with with staff in clay ball mover has improved as a shooter defender. Smart unlike he fits that style of play. And then i'm like. I'm like president of the the anthony. Melton fan club. He is they call him. Mr do something or mr do everything. I can remember on the memphis broadcast since. I'm not on tv. I call him mr up up man. That guy does stuff i mean. Not him keep going. I'm sorry no. I think he would be perfect. Fit so if you move back to ten all right then you're gonna get potentially a david mitchell. Okay the the thought is that he's most likely going to be available at ten. So that's a guy who i think is attractive because of his defense and he can help you right away You know older obviously fits kind of their style of play. you could look at. You know corey kiss bert. Or is josh giddy available. If you love josh giddy than you can potentially get him at ten and then you pick up a guy like melton whoever it is so i think that's a really interesting move. You know to to pick up somebody from memphis who can help next year. And then get a guy like a giddy or a davian or shooting and kiss bert or moses moody who can also help you right now and then you still have fourteen to get you know another potential wing shooter. Whether that's chris duarte whether that's trae murphy out of virginia he's kind of like a a cam johnson type You know if you do stay put at seven in jonathan commingle. Is there or james book. Night is there. I think those are two really interesting options. I mean book night. Like he could be a jordan clarkson type of guy early on in his career like they could use that scoring punch you know and i think he can help you now in has some upside and then you would hope that they could use minka. Maybe in like a harrison barnes type of role as well so a lot of options for golden state. But i kind of do like that. Move back to ten and pick up a player from memphis. So here's a trade that works it. It's going also illustrate some of the problems of this conceit. Melton clark and number ten for pool looney moulder emilee. Because that's how many guys you have to get to kabul up the salary to make it work and seven and so here are the issues. I could see golden state saying that's still not enough for us to go from seven to ten. I'm not sure i agree with that. I don't know the draft guys. Well enough maybe they think that maybe they don't. I could see memphis saying that's too much for us to drop back three spots because we like somebody at seven. I can see the number of players involved being a complicated anytime. You're putting in four players from one team. It gets a little bit messy and memphis crowded wrestler already. So that's the issue for the warriors. Is you either deal wiggins. And then you've got to have lots of money moving around in the deal and by the way i think the warriors are higher on wiggins and maybe twenty five of the remaining twenty nine teams in the nba. That's another issue. Here they they. They're super high on seven and they're super high and wiggins so all those kind of deal constructions are gonna run into that problem and then on the lower end you just have to cobble all of these picks together all of these players together rather just to make the salary work enough to get you a ten million dollar player at nine million players so those are the challenges the warriors face but if i were them and i'm not getting bill i would at least have to think about this on the flip side. If they love somebody at seven they can just take them and say we love them and someone's going to become available.

We've talked about tier one which is potential superstar tier two potential all-star. We just finished tier three. Which is high level starter. We're gonna talk about now to your four potential starter rotation players right now and tony. Let's say here your tier for at the moment so mightier for At the moment fis wagner. Obviously well you thought it was. Obviously that should be tier three. So franz wagner Corey kiss spor- Kyw jones I also i also like jalen. Johnson also liked trait murphy I also like smog. Aruba whole bunch. People matere four Also like zaire williams in also cam thomas and also like bones highland all right not unusual by the way my tier four is big as well. This is typically where you'll start to see more players sort of grading grading out right now at tony's and mine have some similarities a few few guys that i have lower higher tony of that group looking at your tier four. Who's your favorite prospect in that in that tier four category in your opinion is actually trae murphy. he comes. He comes out of virginia. He's one of those guys that you know it. I think you need a lot. I think you need some more strength But he's you know he's. He's a running jump athlete. I think he's going to be a good defender. I think he's going to be able to knock down shots. I think he's got some some some some upside. You know you're not gonna be able to put the ball in his hands and and in in a lot of things but he's he's he's a guy that's not gonna try to do too much outside of his skill set and like you're just i just think that you're gonna see trae murphy within three or four years making some big plays On a playoff team and and making big shots and making big defensive place You know we just talked about jammed. Johnson to me. He's you know he's a little bit like cam. Johnson trae murphy does not make my tear for a tear for votes interesting perspective. Here a lot higher on on these guys as you get closer the draft. Let's talk. i wanna talk about a guy in tony. I want you to kind of talk me off the cliff here. Maybe i'm starting to fall. In love with zaire williams again and it certainly not watching stanford tape i watching the stanford stuff really turned me off the zairean. I understood why why he slid. But i started going back and watching him in high school. And then i'm looking at his his athletic testing his measurement measurement numbers. He's six ten. He he tested is one of the most athletic guys in this draft. You look at the skill set in high schools ability to handle the ball. His feel for the game is ability to pull up. He looks like he could potentially be a high level shooter. And then i start to tell myself you know maybe maybe stanford wasn't the right place for him to think about all. The stuff that happened with cova at stanford was playing on the road all year. I'm here to death in his family. Was this the case where there's a prototypical. Nba wing that everybody covets. In the league right in front of our face and because he struggled at at stanford and look frankly he wasn't like trade murphy had better freshman season than zaire williams. Did and you know some of these older prospects. Core kissed bird didn't have a better freshman year than zion. Where zaire williams state. Or what have you that. Maybe maybe we're sleeping on this guy that was ranked by teams at six seven eight before the season began. And i'm i'm starting to wonder. Should the magic be thinking about him at eight. You know should should some of these teams just really swing for the fences. Now ignore his stanford resume focus on what he did in high school. And say that this is all gonna work out at the end. What say you so normally. i wouldn't think i would give you know. Like i'm not giving jalen johnson passed for for his year duke But desire williams. I think dessert not full past. But i i think his season at at stanford deserves some context. First of all. I do agree with you. That might not have been the best place for him. In terms of of of you know maximizing him basketball wise and then the you know stanford's basically on the road all year And then you know. Obviously kobe stops. And you know. He just had a lot going on with him He was playing without bulky knee. Brace at the start of the season. Which i think's sort of impacted athleticism wasn't fully healthy But the thing was i or williams is that you look at in you. Say okay you gotta look at the ball skills like she's got ball skills He could put the ball on the floor. He can make plays off the dribble he can. He's a good passer He can make shots the thing that you also look at. You gotta look at the strength. He's gotta gain twenty pounds. He's got you know he's got to put the time in the weight room You know in. He's he's a guy from me that you know he. He can be dark makiko bikes. He can be a guy that He can be a guy explodes or he can be a guy that just going to be a for eighth man. Offer ten ten fifteen years and you know he's gonna play ten fifteen years. Leave because you know sixteen guys. You can play two to three. Just i'll come along But you know he's so just in terms of that. I mean he's definitely worth the first round pick You know so. But he's got a you know if he's he's gonna be more than that if he's going to be a high level starter if he's going to you know Max out into an all star You know he's he's got a developed in into me He's kind of lost one year of his development From a basketball sense in that that really matters to me. "He's more of a traditional big questions about him. And then gruber who might be the best big man defender in this draft right now. Excellent athlete. Seven foot wingspan. Not sure what he brings to the table offensively right now. That's going to be the big question for him. Those are the international players that cracked our first round. But there are several others including friends. Blind berg and daca buddha's out of out of lithuania. That could certainly end up sneaking into the first round as well. Those are probably the two other guys that i see that i'm interested in. There's going to be johann. Garon out of france is an aerial who porty out of germany are actually playing in chicago. This week of the combines will be interesting to see what's going to happen there guys. They cracked our big board for the first are sorry are mock draft for the first time. There's a couple that haven't been in a mock draft for us yet. I guess just christopher out of arizona state who's been hovering right there on the bubble. He goes twenty fifth to the nuggets. Miles mcbride the west virginia point guard. Who majored on on tuesday with a six. Eight and three quarters wingspan. Even though he's sixty like that's ridiculous ridiculous wingspan for him. You look at the clippers with their aging point guards. Reggie jackson patrick beverley on rondo. Mcbride can really shoot the basketball. Super tough defender. Long sounds like clippers player. All the way josh primo. The freshman wing of alabama cracks are mock draft at twenty eight to the philadelphia. Seventy sixers and trae murphy. The third they wing out of virginia also cracks mock draft two point. Oh in the first round at at number thirty to the utah jazz and so those are the those are the new prospects that that that were seen. That means that there was a few players that that didn't make the cut this time that made it in the past matthew mayor philadelphia doesn't make the cut. He's actually deciding to return back to baylor for his senior season. Trae man who might guess is most people have in their first round. I he he really can shoot the basketball. There's some versatility there for him. I'm having a hard time from the teams that i'm talking to right now. Based off of his measurements lack of link lack of elite athleticism measured a little bit small again at the combine. Whether he's actually going to end up cracking either first round. I think there's a little bit of a question. Mark going on that johnny out of ucla had him at twenty five. Could still end up being twenty five. Do you think he's one of the players the nuggets like and we'll get a look at maybe sliding a little bit. He'll get the chance to show his stuff at the nba.
