"Joe's just went ahead and made it on their own and they felt that that wasn't the coolest thing it would be nice to see them work with more small brands and try to help them out. They could do. You have any thoughts about that petition. Last year to change traderjoes packaging. I thought that was really interesting. I followed that when it was happening for those who don't know what that was all about. There was a young woman named brioni fidel. I that's how you say her name and she had started a petition to get trader joe's to change some of its packaging that she felt was racially insensitive and have to say. I think she was corrected you that they were smart to change the packaging they. It's just much better off. They call it trader. Joe's across the board okay. So you walked into the trader joe's in brooklyn for the first time. What was your overall impression. They make grocery shopping fun and they play up the quirky factor. A lot of people think grocery shopping as a chore but it does not seem like a chore trader. Joe's gathered you a really good job at getting people excited to try stuff. Why do you think you've never really shopped there before. Oh that's a good question. I don't think trader joe's came to new york until maybe a decade ago. You know i own some restaurants. I dated a chef for a long time. So i probably didn't grocery shop as much as the average person i love my farmers markets. You know we have a big whole foods here. That i'll go to and i mean you've seen the street that i live on. We've got a lot of little food stores. And i do love to frequent. You know the small businesses in my neighborhood. So that's probably why so carry. The big question here is. Do you think you're going to go back. I do think i'll go back. I mean you. You definitely caught with the peppermint products. I do love peppermint. I like peppermint more than pumpkin. So i'll go back during the holiday time in. Check that out a little nervous about buying too many snacks. I mean trader. Joe's is really sexy snack headquarters so you have to be careful of not going overboard with the snacks. But i think also just is a member of the food media. It's really really interesting to see what people are buying trader. Joe's does a great job staying on top of trends so it's fun to literally. Just walk around and look at all the labels and see what they put out. So yeah i'll go back. Maybe jenna next california you and i can go together of course then we can actually see what a real. Tj's alcohol section looks like. We can buy the mango sparkling wine and we can have lava cakes and we will have a great time awesome jenna. Thanks for taking this trader. Joe's journey with me. I'm so glad that we got to do that together. It was really fun me to. You're the bomb. That's it for today. Show thank you to everyone who gave us product suggestions on instagram. I tried a few more products since. Jenna and i recorded this. The frozen oatmeal. Admittedly it was delicious with a perfect texture and not too much sweetness. I am not a fan of sweet oatmeal. But i don't need oatmeal pucks wrapped in plastic. I don't think anyone does so. I say skip. That product made a big batch of oatmeal and reheat it throughout the week. The specula- butter is almost too good. I might have to hide it away. So i stopped eating it by the spoonful. My cat dusty. Gobble down the trader joe's version of fancy feast so paws up for that the super lemon room spritz skip it. It smells like furniture polish. Sorry and you might laugh at this but you know what my favorite thing is so far. The unscented hand embody green with moroccan argon oil. Obviously it's not edible but it's a really good product and as we as i record this. I have water boiling. So i can make the corn and barada ravioli for dinner. I have high hopes for that product. Thank you to our assistant. Producer genocide do for engineering this episode and sharing her love for traderjoes. Thank you to carry gold makers of great butter and cheese and to.

"Textures crazy. Okay it i'm guessing. It tastes like peanut butter now. It is very comparable to peanut butter. Yes okay. I've got my spoon. I've got my my speculation. Cookie butter right. Here okay ready. Let's go joy okay. It's a lot like peanut butter. I'm really surprised. They're no nuts. No nuts just cookies in a lot of okay Do you need some water. Looking at the label right now they call it deliciously unusual with crushed belgian biscuits and the warm flavors of holiday spice brent. Gosh john it really is like peanut butter. I need some more water very sticky. It really gets to the roof of your mouth and everything out okay. I'm i am surprised no nuts. Ns but apparently not and it says product of the netherlands. Okay so that is the speculators cookie butter jennifer. Tell us about the second product. We're gonna talk about. Because i know you are a fan of this one everything but the bagel seasoning. Yes this really took off. It was it went viral on to talk People use it on vegetables. They use it on sandwiches. They use it on cream. Cheese and bagels. obviously everything. i bought a little bit. I'll give it a little shake. Can everybody hear that. It's unlike the speculates cookie butter which has a lot lot of ingredients. This does not have a lot of ingredients. It's just sesame seeds see-saw dried minced garlic dried minced onion lack sesame seeds and poppy seeds. So it's you know it's like a classic seasoning blend. I'm what you put it on general. I personally put it on a piece of toast with some cream cheese. Some seasoning and some hot sauce and because of the salt in the seasoning. You really don't need much with it because it has about on flavor you love your hot sauce. A lot of people recommended this and They they said they put it on eggs. So maybe i'll sprinkle some on some. Oh you know what i bet. It's really good on avocado toast. It's great on avocados i. It's also great on rice with an egg on top and then some seasoning. Or you know what i love. I make kimchi and mix kimchi and rice. And i put a fried egg on top of it. This'll be yummy. Have you tried anything else. You picked up a trainer. Chance i did. I mean i feel like. I bought a lot at this point. A lot of them were year recommendations. Somewhere other friends recommendations Let me see. I've got some of them in front of me. I bought ozama dada who a lot of you may be heard on radio cherry bomb. She has a great cookbook out now. Called dada eats somma told me to get the raw almond butter creamy version. Which i haven't tried yet. But i'm guessing it's good no salt. And then she also told me to get e roasted unsalted. Rosemary marcona almonds. I love marcona. Almond so i picked that up. I got a beauty. Product gabby vigouroux. I don't think you've met gabby but gabby was cherry bomb employee number. One told me that they have good beauty products. So i picked up some and body cream have coconut body butter that a lot of people swear by you know a lot of people mentioned the body better when we were asking for product recommendations but this is fragrance free. Because you know when you're cooking and making food. I don't want a lot of fragrance. I'm a hands up. The sliced goat's milk dutch cheese. Everybody said to get that many milk chocolate peanut butter cups. They're like little baby peanut butter cups. Those were yummy. I got katherine baker or managing editor. Told me to get the dark chocolate almonds with sea salt in nado sugar. Those are yummy. What else are two things that it wasn't too wild about you told me to get the steamed pork and ginger soup dumplings. I think i made a like amateur mistaken. I microwave them. They're not that good microwave. they're not that good. What microwave. but that's the easiest way to do it. If you wanna take that further step. I would steam them. That's what i do and they're delicious. Yeah i think steaming is definitely the pro tip Okay one thing i got. That was kind of bile. And i don't use that word often and now that i read this i'm like why did i buy this. The pumpkin ford cheese greek style yogurt dip cannot. You didn't like it. We we have to pick up something pumpkin because of the seasonal. Tell me about this seasonal obsession. I mean every other product was pumpkin when we were there. Yeah they're really known for their seasonal stop. Of course pumpkin takes over fall. Peppermint takes over winter in the summer. They have a lot of stone fruits. Peach flavorings nectarine flavorings. Okay oh one. More thing i bought. I should give a shout out to because my one of my lovely former colleagues recommended. Michael jorgensen told me to go by this the frozen oatmeal and i'm a little skeptical. The frozen oatmeal because oatmeal is pretty easy to make on your own but But i don't know. I love michael so i said i would try it. Stay tuned for report on that so when you're walking through trader joe's in you're putting stuff in your cart. Did you notice how everything is traded. Just brand how did you feel about all of that stuff. Being private-label i think was the biggest surprise me. I didn't realize. I don't know the percentage that's private label but i didn't realize that almost everything they sell is trader. Joe's branded i saw a few other brands. I saw two laya are pals from the Beer brand the new york city. Beer brand to laya. What else did he tell carry. Gold better and cheese we love our pals kerry gold so that was fun to see. I saw help eight kabukicho. Which i really like. But i don't know. I could probably count on one hand. The number of independent brands. I saw it was interesting walking up and down the aisles and trying to figure out who made the product for trader joe's because they obviously don't make their own product in a one thing that i will say as a bummer. I did get a d. m. from someone on instagram and we shared that we were doing this episode and they said the trader joe's had reached out to them to make a product that they made as part of their small food business. They couldn't make it for the price of trader. Joe wanted to trader..

Joe's i fell in love with trader joe's in college. It was really cheap way for me and my roommates to get food. We would walk down. The smallest trader. Joe's in the world is actually in boston where i went to school so we would go. There have a great time into brilliant experience. What did you find. Different about. The brooklyn trader joe's that we visited a versus the ones. You love california. The brooklyn trader. Joe's was beautiful. It was in an old bank building. It had a high ceiling chandeliers. The people there were so happy. What the alcohol section was a little lackluster in comparison to california stories will definitely you can't sell wine. In new york city supermarkets. He might not have known that so. There was no two buck chuck. Which is the famous trader. Joe's inexpensive wine. So i did. I've yet to try to buck chuck. But maybe when i come out to california jenner. You also told me about this. Try before you buy thing the trader joe's has yes trader. Joe's if you're unsure about putting something in your cart you can actually ask an employee to slice it open and you can try it anything. Besides the frozen food and dairy products. I believe in the meats. Of course the uncooked meets. You can just ask anybody to try it That sounds like there's a high potential for abuse. Oh absolutely and every week do you feel guilty and have to buy everything when you ask them to open it can shining ask. Sometimes sometimes i would feel guilty and buy everything and the building you talked about. I should have jumped in and mentioned it's a bank building that was built in nineteen twenty three so it definitely was a fancy trader. Joe's my next question for you. Janet is trader. Joe's a cult absolutely trader. Joe's fans try and get other people to be trader joe's fans so it's definitely That's what i'm trying to do right now. It's it's working somewhat okay janice since we have verified that you are a cult member. I'd like to know your three favorite trader joe's products so let's start with number three coming in at number three carry. I think it would be the mangoes. Sparkling wine hung cans and it's four dollars okay. It's fun little cocktail an account. I wouldn't have thought combining mango and wine. But hey why not okay. Number two number two. Is there chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich. Is that like a chip which it's exactly like a chip which accept the texture is beyond better. Okay all right now about number one drum roll please k. Number one has to be their chicken. Some says they're delicious. That your favorite. How do you would you eat them with anything. Their next crispy. The relief labor holders spiced inside and have them with a little bit of saracho in catch-up perfect. Okay got your own catch-up blend going on there. I can appreciate that. All right. So jenna Did a little trader. Joe's homework for us in studied up on the history of trader. Joe's jenna who founded trader traderjoes. Joe coolum founded trader joe's in nineteen sixty seven. He opened up the. I rejoice store what was behind it. Why did he open this sort of interesting different kind of grocery store he really wanted a tiki. Themed caribbean deemed grocery store where people can find inexpensive food and drink definitely different from the traditional grocery store. Where was the first trader joe's location in pasadena california southern. How many locations do they have today. And in how many countries you can only trader joe's in the united states and there's about five hundred five hundred thirty locations. Oh okay that's more locations than i thought and i for some reason i thought they were international. Maybe i thought that because trader joe's is owned by that german grocery company aldy from saying that correctly but so us only okay. Good to know next. Janet and i are going to talk about some other trader joe's product prior to visiting the trader joe's. I'd never stepped into a trader joe's. But i definitely knew about some of their products and we are going to try one of those products. Right now it is there speculators cookie butter spread definitely one of their most famous products. Are you jenna. i am a fan. But only after one spoonful. That's all i can well. I didn't even know what cookie. Butter is so had to look it up on wikipedia. Thankyou wikipedia but according to wikipedia. Cookie butter was invented in belgium. In two thousand and two. So it hasn't been around that long it's made of cookie crumbs fat sugar and flowers. So it's definitely not a health food mixed until it becomes spreadable. So i'm guessing jenna. This is like a belgian new tele. Yes it is like about new. Okay all right so i'm going to split. I got a spoon right here. Do i need some milk or water or something to go with. We just let your saliva break down really get all on your teeth leads. The texture is crazy textures crazy. "We are coming to you from a different location for this episode. Because we did a field trip for today's show we went to the trader joe's and cobble hill brooklyn. Because i have never shopped at a trader joe's until the other day i was a trader joe's virgin. I know i know hard to believe. I told one of my friends. We were doing this episode. And she said. Are you sure you want to admit that everyone. It's like saying you've never used the telephone well too late here we go. Let's grab a shopping cart and hit those aisles. I let's thank our sponsor carry gold the folks behind that beautiful butter and cheese made with milk from irish grass-fed cows. I have met some of those cows and they get degrees in some of the most beautiful greenfield's you've ever seen if you haven't tried carry gold. Be sure to pick some up at your favorite supermarket speaking of cheese. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the cheese ball last week. We had a fun night of fashion and for maggi. And we're joined by marissa mullen of that cheese plate and cheese by numbers who taught us how to make a beautiful cheese board that included her signature salami river. I now know how to make us. Salami river watch out world. We ate lots of yummy cheese from our friends at carry gold cambozola and cypress grove. We drank beautiful sparkling wine from mumm napa and we had some chocolate bonbons with cheese in them from voege shackle la. Oh and parmesan ice cream from cafe. Pana how could i forget so interesting. It all took place at the demo kitchen at the new ace hotel brooklyn. If you'd like to stay at the ace. Be sure to use the code cherry. Be for fifteen percent off when you make your booking. That's cherry and the letter b. Alright so trader. Joe's i know it's kind of crazy that i have never shopped at a trader joe's. I made that confession on my instagram account and on cherry bombs instagram. And hundreds of you gave us your product. Suggestions was honestly a little overwhelming but fun to read through them all some immediate takeaways from my visit. The trader joe's copywriters and packaging designers are geniuses. They make their products very very desirable. What else when it comes to the intersection of fun and price point. It's hard to beat traderjoes. They have definitely cornered the market on grocery shopping as affordable entertainment. One thing that mystified me is the perception that exists trader. Joe's as healthy so many people kept telling me the trader. Joe's is all about healthy food. I mean yes. They have plenty of healthy things to eat. But the produce section is underwhelming and there are snacks everywhere and really sexy snacks so you are very tempted to buy them. Oh my gosh and pumpkin products. If you think starbucks pushes it with the pumpkin spice latte. You haven't seen anything trader joe's really jumps on a trend and rides it in this case writing a big pumpkin. So here are some snippets. We recorded on our visit to trader. I'll be right back with genocide. Do assistant producer of radio. Cherry bomb jenner is a member of gen z. A recent college graduate and she's serving as my trader joe's ambassador. I everybody so. I am at a traitor. Does for the very first time of crowded. I came at night. Because when i passed by jackson day their lives and i am going to go out all the products that has recommended to me. Let's go here's some of the stuff that everybody loves all these dips. They have a lot of seasonal stuff. Right that's what you love. Katherine loves the mediterranean style hamas. Oh pumpkin spice on this. I'm not sure that i'm ready for that gang when you thank you. Pumpkin four cheese greek style yogurt dip. That could be interesting. Okay maybe we'll come back and get that and then oh cacciatore peppy ravioli. That sounds really good. They have a lot of ravioli. There's lots of prison through. Which is great if he like making smoothies except they're just cookies and candy everywhere. So if you came here because you're wanting to do some healthy things and it comes movies. You might not appreciate. The are just sweets everywhere. Blueberry goat cheese that went viral blueberry vanilla. Oh boy blueberry vanilla coach again not sure about that but people love that people love it so now in front of the prison tumbling section and so many of you mentioned that you love the frozen dumplings. Sporkes remind chicken shuai. They got a little clean down of the dumplings by. Maybe i will buy some of those. Oh they've soup dumplings that's funny angle. Try those but they also had feet bus soup. Wonton soup french onion soup steak and south pies. You may have every crazy. So like i said they are really nuts for pumpkin stuff. There is pumpkin spice coffee for actual pumpkin. There's pumpkin this humping viola hump and hamas pumpkin beauty cada on and on. I saw a lot of other pumpkin things. I'll spare you all the pump and stuff all right then right in front of me. Apparently this is a famous trader. Joe's thing to the cinnamon wisc of no the cinnamon broom. So it's like a broom. Scented with cinnamon oils three dollars. Ninety nine cents and it says broom is made in china but it is scented in america. Okay and then. There's a smaller one. There's a with cinnamon sense with his for ninety nine cents bring home and enjoy the smell of fall. Think my pass on this. But it's an interesting product that i've never seen anything like that before. The lady in front of me has the senate who broom and her young child is using it as a weapon so she's trying to wrestle it away from the kid. Oh they also have gluten free pumpkin spice bagels. Okay i'm gonna turn to pumpkin before. I leave trader. Joe's that seems to be the clear message more pumpkin gang. Look organic private-label gets. Oh wow they also have pumpkin spice coffee. I will stop calling out all the pumpkin things because they think this whole episode could wind up being pumpkin stuff trader. Joe's okay. I'm back with jenna jenna how are you. I'm good. i'm so good carry. It is so good to see you. So jenna is here to talk to me. All about trader. Joe's because jonah is definitely not a trader joe's virgin jenna just to be transparent with our listeners. You are a trader. Joe's superfan right. Yes one of the biggest. How often do you shop there. I shop there. You can buy me there. Every sunday night at local trader. Joe's or i'm there whenever i run out of lava cakes so three times a week. Overcoming Emotional Eating and Ditching Diets With Shari Broder

"I think that's something we sometimes we don't know. Am i hungry. Am i do. I need water. Am i board. Do i need a break. How can we really tune in and figure out if it's a hunger cue verses i need something emotionally or just something else in my life. Yeah well people easily first of all in our culture we don't really think about hunger and eating we don't associate the to. I mean obviously people think i'm hungry. I need to eat something but so many people do so much more than that without you know they eat. Because there's free samples at trader joe's or there's not any more from But you know or because they're at a party or because somebody put candy in the candy bowl. There's so many reasons that people eat. Now that were. They don't even think about whether they're hungry and advertising psycho. You know get a pizza and just call this number. And we don't think about hunger and then on top of that. I it sometimes is hard. Especially if that's been your orientational to just not associate. Eating and hunger is distinguishing between physical hunger. And what. I call head hunger. Which is when your brain's telling you eat something and for a lot of people that's hard. It's hard to distinguish but it really is. Hunger is a physical sensation. And maybe you. And i may experience it differently or not but you really need to get to know it and it's sort of like you have to urinate. Nobody has to tell you just know. It's a feeling right and so you go to the bathroom. Well hunger the same way but people just some people haven't experienced a long time and so they got what it feels like. It makes a lotta sense. Because i think we use food in so many different ways and in this country many of ice have access to food at any time that we think we might want it and so i think a lot of times. It really isn't that question it's just well. It's the time of day that i eat. Yup or you know this thing is happening in my life. I want celebrate. Or i am sad and i need to enjoy the pint of ice cream. Or what have you know even past that point of the physical discomfort because because it fills a wade supposedly you know for something that we feel that we

Dumping Our HeadTrash and Ending Self-Sabotage with Renie Cavallari

"Love to know what is head trash. Well head trash you know what head trashes because we all have had trashed. It's those nasty little voices in our heads that are undermining us and they They can be self destructive they be limiting and they're they're not really enhancing your thoughts so they really hold you back and because they hold you back. They limit your potential and worse yet. They limit the joy in your life. You know so when you think about the quality of your life as a definition for me success to me is joy so the more joy the better life and the moorhead trashed the less joy. I think that's a great philosophy. And i could not agree more. What inspired you to write about had trash so over the last twenty plus years working with a power by fire and then the art institute the it. I have always been intrigued by like i. I just. I love being around plum. I've always found great joy and helping people succeed and and find their potential and there was this need to understand that if you're going to help someone improve their life improve the performance of their work or improve the quality of their life. Life work balance. Which i in my opinion is bullshit. There is no thing. Never incomplete balancing anything. It's just life balance and when we try and figure out what that with the balanced looks like. We really started to zero in on that the most important thing we can do for ourselves is to have the right mindset and so a lot of times like we. Let's just take something silly like gardening. It doesn't matter. If you learn the skills of gardening you can learn the process of when to plant. How much fertilizer to us. And what all those kinds of cool things. I like to garden. It's it's helps clear my head. You can look at all those things but if you don't like to garden or you're not interested in gardening or it you you don't have the right attitude towards gardening. It's like you know flowers are nice. I'll buy a plant from trader joe's. Stick it on my then. That's okay but you'll never really going to be a great gardener so it doesn't matter how much you read about it if it doesn't if it doesn't really enhance your soul like get go in mindset is first and that's would intrigue me about head trashes that the limit for most people isn't that they can't do something it's that there's talk in their head their cell talk that limits what they're thinking and most important about understanding head trash is that you feel the way you think so s comes before t so you control your thoughts and when you control those thoughts you'll have different feelings but if you think poorly about something you're going to feel poorly about it if you think about the possibilities of something you're gonna feel different. And that's going to motivate you so when people say to me riney. I just don't have my motivation right now. Well what are you thinking about. Because if you're thinking just don't have my motivation right now. It's going to be really hard to find your motivation. I think i needed to have this conversation because you know. During time with the pandemic finding motivation can certainly be a little more challenging and shifting perspective. Absolutely at when i was growing up my father used to say who you hang with is who you become and because environment does matter and so during this pandemic we've been isolated and we haven't had the natural energy give and take with you know the people that bring us joy in our life or or the collaboration and this is really caused really an epidemic in head trash like we have a serious challenge for people with head trash and that could be your job. It could be how you're spending your time. It can be as a leader. you know their. It's imprinting all over us. Absolutely and how would you say i think it manifests itself in so many different ways for all of us. How does head trash affect us from day to day. Well head trashes happening all the time. And if you think of your brain as almost two two brains at one you have this this actual physical brain. That's a functioning brain and it has you know it can. Primary tool is blood and it talks to organs in it and it is the intellectual side things and then you have this emotional brain and your emotional brain is it's actually a derivative of your thoughts and how you think and so any given time in your day an event happens and it could be as simple as someone cuts you off or someone smiles at you or could be more significant like you had an upset with your boss or appear let you down or you know your partner is making you nuts. 'cause you're in the same small space right. It could be anything and what happens. It goes into this emotional brain and decides whether it's gonna go to the disconnected side of your emotional brain or the connected side so this emotional brain actually has two sides and that's what determines how you're gonna feel because it goes to the side where your thoughts are so if you're thinking like for a lot of us you know where we're at home and you know all of a sudden for people you know whether you have kids or like even a big space seems to be getting smaller and smaller so if we think you're driving me nuts and we get angry or we we get really kind of anal about kind of things that are silly because we're stressed all that stress is living in that disconnected side of your emotional brain and the goal of life is to spend as much time as possible on the connected side because the connected side is where we have clarity of thought. We are productive. We we actually breed. Our physical wellness is over on that connected side. We take care of ourselves. We have the ability to deal with complex problems. So it's not that we don't have disappointments but it's how we deal with them and that's determined by which side of the brain on the disconnected side. We might feel anxiety or worry or outright. Fear we might. We're telling ourselves live. This is where you know that self talk like you can't fall asleep at night right. It's like it just will not be. It's like a like a chipmunk that will not stop talking. You know well your goal is to learn how to actively and proactively spend as much time on that connected side because you can't stop things from happening. Events happen all sign. It's how we react to the event and how we embrace them that determines the quality of our life.

Trader Joe's Seeds the Conversation About Plants & Plant-Based Products

"Plants and plant based products are certainly in these days. I remember the time when if you put the word vegan on a package it could actually hurt its sales. I swear there are things that we put the word vegan that afterwards. We're like what we do that because we killed it but maybe in the last five years in certainly more intensely in the last couple of years. We've seen this tremendous increase in customer interest for plant based foods. We have a new guest on the podcast today. I m amy. I am a category manager of a few different categories within our store deli fresh beverage and meet meatless an seafood in the frozen set. You head a lot of plant based things that are kind of obviously plant faced right like like the the juice shots for example you also manage what we call these meat analogues. The turkey lists protein patties and the protein patties. They don't say beef louis but there. That's kind of implied right. There has been huge growth in the meatless set. These new iterations of products are really going after the flexible -tarian customer and as people are looking for ways to have a healthier lifestyle improve their overall general health but then a better impact to the environment or incorporating meat. Free days meatless. Mondays in those sorts of things so these products really target customers that want the full meet experience but just a better version of it sweatshirt this as a better version of the full meet experience. Please don't i know it's implied. Did the two product types classic meat or now. New meatless does the product development sort of inform one category over the other. Like we gotta have a meatless bacon because we sell so much regular bacon or or does it work independent of what sells well in the traditional meet category. That's a great question. The new products that were developing our specific target to what does well in the meat or seafood set or chicken. For example i mean great tenders new sausage product that eats differently than our older or i should say first generation sausage links that we have. It wasn't that long ago when when we had to sort of change our expectations and we'd often wind up saying that's pretty good for vegan or vegetarian. Or an analog a stand in and now i feel like the products have changed to the point. Where oftentimes it's like. whoa. I wouldn't have known that was vegan. If you didn't tell me these days you see especially at fast. Food chains and in restaurants Like fried chicken. That actually looks like chicken. Sausage that eats tastes like sausage. It's gone beyond the burger to all those other food products that people normally crave And to get that texture in by it's really a lot more complicated than most people assume otherwise it tastes rubbery or it doesn't have that richness. doesn't cook the same to. That's been keep in mind that some of the proteins remain raw looking as opposed to really cooking and having the char in the grill so that you get that full experience not just the flavor the texture and the presentation of it. You don't have to give up your burger to have something plant based you can still enjoy those comfort foods. You just eat less calories or less fat for that occasion and you're doing something good for yourself and for the environment at the same time. Mimic mimic Animal based products. What's what sort of a holy grail product that you've not seen yet that that you're interested in in having developed bacon is one of them but then also a range of charcuterie. I have yet to really try anything that does well as far as texture and flavor. That's it's kind of more rubber which is a plant based material could could qualify fifteen years ago. I wasn't interested in picking up something that said vegan. Because experience told me it wasn't gonna taste very good. A great things taste good now. Oh they absolutely do. And even beyond just the meatless items the dips and dressings and whatnot with implant based cream cheese. I mean you would never know that you weren't eating a full cream. Cheese product tastes. It has the same mouth. Feel the same flavor profile the dips are at. That's an interesting topic because we've we've approved a number of them recently. Have i'm we're very excited to that. We have to zeki and a caramelized onion as well. That will launch in two thousand and twenty one and within panel. I wanna say everybody agreed that they actually tasted better or the same as a full dairy version. So you'd be hard pressed to differentiate them in a blind tasting. I don't think you could necessarily tell what else in the in the world of plant based stuff is top of mind for you or interesting things. You're looking forward to or. I'm looking to do more work on the seafood side. We don't have options yet within our stores for a plant based seafood product. But they're crabcakes out on the market or scallops ortona replacement so really looking more at the seafood to make sure that we've covered all of the proteins that customers are familiar with and bringing in the best versions of those. We have every single meal covered. We have breakfast options with links and patties we have burgers for lunch or even replacements for something as popular as our orange chicken so we've got a full spectrum so that you don't have to pick and choose which meal you can really incorporate it throughout your day or your week and really find what you're looking for ten years from now it will look completely different again know when you can mimic those flavors and textures. That people really love to have as part of their diet. Then they can feel freer to say okay. I'm going to have less meat in my diet. I'm not going to become a complete vegan vegetarian but maybe this day. I won't eat meat this day. I will absolutely. And i think it's becoming almost cool to say that you're you know you eat plant. Based that it's becoming more acceptable. More understood. people are trying new things so protein patties to sort of beef analog protein patties the texture is a little too soft for me for eating on a bun. Texture is a really big part of something being delicious or not Even though it's not flavor. I think one of our adams that we've really nailed on. Texture is the meatless meatballs. It's one of my family favorite items and we use it as a substitute spaghetti. All the time is just a way to swap something out. That's quick and easy you know and then add some shredded carrots and we've got plenty of plants and it's lower in fat and calories than the meat version that we sell as well and you would never know that you weren't eating meat. I think they're really great tasting meatballs. But you're not super focused on. Is it a perfect replication of the meat version. Because there's so many other flavors happening and the texture. I think to the point you just made the texture of those Meatless meatballs in the freezer. Case is perfect. They are perfectly meaty meatballs without without the meat. They're they're my personal favorite just the way you are

Very unique production style. Everything was a forty dollar kava very with rules. Regulations stricter than ship and. It was a very unique wine. That was well. We're seeking out in trying and the day. We have a six thousand nine cobber from trader. Joe's is the grand. Sixty daba brutes. Alexandra three sixty means sixty. It's a wine that from the catalonian region. It's not too far from barcelona bars luna bubbles us use they use Groups of small farmers individually can't make their own wine they don't have the vineyard properties. I'm picking up a lot of these guys. Throw other things on the land. The land. that's rock strewn in steep hill or on a river river valley side. That's where you grow rapes. And that's the leftover land for these guys make some extra bucks band together and they could make an expensive wines at six ninety nine. this the la- graduate three sixty route. Cap is the most expensive legrand white out there. They're all really pretty good as more. I can remember about him in office. Pretty six ninety nine traditional method champagne style kaaba from spain. Be any good. We'll let me take a sip. Your real good rapes jarl and a paraglider which are local grapes white braves. I you can find chardonnay. New aren nowadays but at six ninety nine. You're going to get the traditional grapes. You're going to have a little bit of a difference if you're not if you don't you're going to get a little different flavor profile different doesn't mean that just means different in face pretty good once you once you get around. It was really tasty little lines and this one is really a nice. I've had some inexpensive tap as it could be. Acid buys mean. Just so much. Almost tingles your tongue. A little bit because this one got really good acidity scott flavor. It's not the most complex ever but it's also sixteen thousand nine cab so when what it does do as good. I mean i have no issues whatsoever. App no issues whatsoever this study. It's not a over yeasty. cobb. I know some people don't like sparkling wine that have that ready thing going on. This one doesn't have that ready thing going on. It's not overly crispus. Just nice and calm with Three sixty while making an expensive wines as good social conscience. I guess because he saw like cult do it and did not do it and didn't want to get in trouble. Okay so maybe. Bring the flowers to the airport. I can't imagine maybe go to trader joe's before they have an amazing selection. They really do. They're probably so expensive at the airport. That's what i was thinking. And they're like not great. They're like buying like Sometimes in my cbs. I don't know if everyone has this. Just because i live in very fancy area. I here you go to cvs and there's just dead flowers like the flowers that you could buy like. They're they're like on their last leg. Oh yeah. I believe that. I mean we have data flowers over here. They're not bad. No bodega flowers are good the inside. Cvs flowers that probably get delivered once a month and they still sell them after they're dead. It's great. I want you to know that i felt like a little like h on my belly button. Just now yeah and this was stuck in my pants a hershey kiss thing noel. Admitting that you have a problem is the first step. And i'm glad that you're here. I feel like it was just so you know so ironic that it happened with you. Here live on the podcast. No it's not. Ron because you probably pull hershey kisses rappers out of many many different parts of your body honestly i probably aided at my sleep and just stop there. You were like. Oh is this the garbage. That it's not a normal amount of excited. No like no mother should be this excited. This is a lot. His mom is screaming Yeah it's weird. They all saw her four months ago. Also i thought you guys didn't like her very much. I mean and then they talked about how much they didn't like her right. His mom is screaming at least screaming. Okay so now. They're doing a full make out. Okay i married. And i would not make out with my husband in front of my in laws. That's gross it's here. It's just weird. He's he's creating dominance over his parents. That's what he's doing. Is that what that is i think. So he's trying to show them. He's a big boy and he could do whatever he wants. He's gross. i like his sweater though Okay so now she says julia says and this is a quote. You ready ready. I like how i always ask. If you're ready for a quote. I know well. Sometimes i'm not so you have to make sure she says i'm from russia. Now i stay here. I mean the girl knows. She's got a life plan more tongue kissing. That's the thing it's just like gross. Like i'm uncomfortable and i'm not related to you. Okay and then something crazy happens. The entire family does a four-way kiss with tongue Yeah does everyone and then just a weird porn just started happening and then she says very excited to be in america. You are there you are. I don't blame her so they check into the hotel room so nice that they are allowed to get their hotel room. Uh-huh yeah that's so crazy and she's like hey. Can i have like five or ten minutes before dinner because airplane wash right. She's like. Oh i don't know i guess you could have five minutes thirty minutes later. Oh my god. Trader Joes Platinum Reserve Pinot Noir 2019 Revew

"And the stem from cheap wine bar, again. And again, I was always another one. And shouldn't drop your flute. And this one is a Trader Joe's Platinum a reserve Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills 2019 Lot 19 sales and Trader Joe's simply pushing the Platinum Reserve wines lately and it's kind of like it off. Our fearless Flyers says that they are equal to wines at twice the price and Beyond and the price range for these things have been fourteen ninety-nine. I think in the past they've been up and down but because I had Okawville Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, that was really nice and the house speaks Hillsong. So your game in its your seem to be getting a wine that you don't normally find for 1499. In a wine shop or in a civil Market 1499 for one isn't you know anything unusual but a Trader Joe's were you know, that's you know, everything is 999 or less for the most part. Yeah. And they do such a good you know, you get a Russian River Pinot Noir or Chardonnay for ten bucks, you know making you jump up another five bucks wage, you know, they have to give you incentive. Something that you probably can't get elsewhere and that's what this kind of is. It's a little Santa Rita Hills is in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is hundred miles north of Los Angeles. It's in you know, it's you can be under degrees in Los Angeles in the summer time. But the part where the The Vineyards are jets out. I could strangle kind of into the ocean. So there is water to the north of South in the west. So the cool breezes make this area from for the most part off in many cases cooler than Northern California all the grooming regions up there. And this is Santa Rita Hills. The hills are black the cold air. So it keeps it's a great place and plus the the soil is just so fascinated estimated shock, which is kind of like what you get in Champagne region. So, it's Catholic it's correct. At the school European stuff so oil it's got this cold long cool growing region. It's a great place to be in the wire and off a senator. I don't know if you you're up on all the trendy wines which see smoke which is like, you know, you gotta get a list against you smoke that's from Santa Rita Hills, you know, it's not that big a reason the page where that came from where within a couple of Miles rather grateful. This one came from, you know, the a custom line producer made it for Trader Joe's it's not like this is probably off its, you know, it's a really expensive wine that was left over. They got it. Someone bought grapes and made this wind but it's from a really good pinot noir growing region, but it's 4 a.m. To or alcohol which is a little stiff for Pinot Noir. So we're going to have more body. If you're in the class of Pinot Noir, you know, you might not be all that crazy about it. But if you're don't mind a glass of yummy every so often in this might be your boss know. It's not that much that there has been no hassle Petite Sirah added to it a couple other things but not that there's anything wrong with that. This one's got somebody to it. It's got a little bit of dead. It's a little heavier in the pallet put still continue are not class have been an alarm but it still tastes great. I don't think it slipped because I'm talking about I got glasses. I had I've got no self-control. It feels good on your palate. It's got its got the flavors. It's got some like little sharper image biases and Scott Scott Tana. The channels are sweet, but they're they're yeah, I'm really inexpensive wine nowadays tannins are kind of missing in action. They take them out you know it off. Easier to Angel I'm at this is 2019. If you got you don't deal with the channel until they reduce them as much as they can but here they're there but they don't buy it or they don't do anything other than just let you know. They're they're home. It's kind of nice to see you know, yeah, it's five bucks more than their typical lies. And yeah, it's not classic. You know, it's a little heavier. It's a little more a little little little more vulgar on your pal, but it's not over the top taste great interesting mean. How often do you get a Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2019 little young. There are some $50 119 is out there, but they usually a little bit older. So what happened to get on Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir for 1499 that's interesting. And this one's got interested got personality the classic no taste good. Yeah off. And so there we are.

Chronic Cellars Pink Pedals 2018 Review

"Jay from cheap wine fighter.com. What's the third installment of our Halloween lines twenty-twenty series and this time we have thought we got here Lee grabbed the bottle and it is Chronic Cellars pink petals s a p e d a l s as in bicycle, and it is a Halloween line because off the label has a female skeleton nicely dressed or a bike rider. And running a pink bike with a basket in front and then the basket there is a skeleton dog not scary. But in the Halloween kind of Day of the Dead kind of thing going on their skeletons just white is not paid it but there we go and It's kind of funny because when I was looking to find wines for you know this series I found a red wine from Trader Joe's and a white wife and I think Chardonnay and now I found a rose a I picked wines with skeletons on it. So often that I didn't really leave a whole bunch for myself. I'm a reason why I pick that cuz my theory is that you actually can you know, like you can't choose a book by it's cover where you can choose a wine box label. Because a skeletal line is going to be a ripe Bowl juicy one, but adults, you know, it's for some reason it's it's aimed at certain likes they're one's a certain way like stir labels little off-kilter but wants an adult why we have here this is off. This is not a fluffy little light and Grizzly Rose a it's got its got some body to the palette. That's kind of a firm Sleek wine. The the other knows just feel subtle. But you know interesting it's got some flavors of them take a sip off. It's one of those wines that kind of grow on you as you as you drink it. You're at first you go. And then you kind of kind of get what's going on. There's there's green-apple. There's a cherry there is little creamy thing. Not sure where that's coming from dead leaves or whatever. It's got really good acidity. Let's the flavors unfold and plus it gets you reaching for your glass a little bit sooner than you normally would it off but it doesn't fight cuz sometimes you can get a little bit too much acid in these wines and this one doesn't have that. So what's up pretty nice little little wage. I mean, it's I think I found it for twelve. These are wines that are sold at Whole Foods. You find them a lot in supermarkets. You can find them in look wine shop, too. But they were the sons of the man who ran Peachy Canyon wines broke off on their own and started the just labeled back in the lake Palm two thousand and what happens when you get a hot one happens all the time. Is that the demand gross the point where you have to make more and more wine and to do that you need more money. So it means you have to go in debt to do that. And when you got a hot one, there's always someone there to watch throw a bunch of money at the label. You've already brought, you know up to where people are looking for and liking it. So it's like a choice do I go into debt off or do I take their money that I can think of a whole and I'm not sure that that's what they did. It's the Beckett Brothers, you know, I don't know what their mindset was, but I've seen it time and time again that people you know, all these big-name line Brands. They're all owned by somebody who didn't start them and a lot of them cuz they just had it, you know is either going to debt or take a huge amount of money and when you have that as a as a proposition to you people take the money. Two brothers who made The Chronic Cellars and were the sons of Peachy Canyon are now running Peachy Canyon again. So if you like Chronic Cellars start looking for a future Canon and this is a pretty decent wage even when it's not Halloween. This is a year-round Rose a it's got somebody it's 88% Syrah 12% red eyes. It's kind of a rhone-style the French know what they're doing with rozay and this kind of fouls that's from Paso Robles r a v a hundred percent from Paso Robles contracted thousands of Chronic Cellars doesn't have their own Vineyards, but that's okay. And that's it.

"First Up, we have a lot of warm products which hopefully remained warm. Before we try them first up. We have Kellogg's brand new waffles in fun flavors. I have to say, I was like freaking out we have two flavors to try today but there was a third flavor we didn't get that was super cute. The flavors were trying our Unicorn which tastes like cotton candy and birthday cake, which is yellow cake with rainbow. Sprinkles. These are not only available at Walmart. They're also at target Safeway and more and what I noticed about these is that they're very large large like the size of rigging frozen waffles do smell amazing they really do. And I, also GONNA say usually frozen waffles tastes the same I have high hopes for these I think these are gonna be different. What are you trying I? What's the Yellow One? Is What the Unicorn? Birthday. Look it looks like a birthday. Okay. Let's go birthday cake. Okay. That tastes like a birthday cake. These are really moist. They taste like cake. That's really good and the stats are really not bad hundred and thirty calories per waffle two and a half grams of fat five smart points. But I want to say one thing like these are not I feel like in the past like four or five weeks, we've tried a lot of frozen waffles. And they're all the same even the ones who trader Joe's that are Pumpkin flavored. There's something about this waffle. That's a little special do agree. Yeah. Definitely, and I was just noticing that you don't need butter or Maple Syrup on that. I mean this is just fine by itself. You know I totally grandma try the Unicorn cotton catches interesting because they have such perfectly deep wells. What do you call those nooks and crannies? what do you call in English mapping it is. Yeah. Waffle House. Yeah. They're really Nice deep-sea coach and a lot of Sierra remade ours pacman. Oh cute wait. What are the little dots in this one? Sheri's berries I think right and cotton candy. I like the birthday cake more. Yes, that's amazing. These are amazing. Kellogg's makes eggo right. But these are not under the eggo brand I. Don't think are they know? They're not. So you don't have to leg that is really interesting for her. Nope you don't have to go your Lego Mike. Okay next we are trying this is a product that I find very exciting and unique foster farms. The chicken people they have a new product called bold bites. They're marketed as kids bowl by. So they're like you get these in the fridge section and they're small individually wrapped packs like pouches of chicken and they come in flavors we have Taco and pizza today and what I really love about these portion controlled. It's sort of like saying, Hey, kids you can snack on chicken like like from being I would just dump this pouch. It tastes good into super on top of a salad it's fifty calories worth-a-chicken. Looks Amazing what are we trying? Why did you get all the fun flavors like Taco, Pizza, I can't open. which WANNA restarting with them pastor, which can open pizza Jamie can open I. Don't have the strength. s these high in sodium. No. Not really right. Three clear to read the sodium for those of us who don't have our reading. It's three fifty, which is not terribly. No this is good. I would not say tastes like pizza but I would put this on a pizza at fifty calories worth. Let's see. We got spicy lally trion. That's good but I feel like it's a stretch to call at pizza. Wait I a little bit of like Italian seasoning. Okay. Yeah. No I like it I like the concept I like creative. Let's try the TACO. Just I'm impressed and it tastes like white meat chicken breast doesn't taste like unidentifiable parts of a chicken. TACO measure making tacos. That is excellent first of all. This is what I would do. I would take those new cauliflower Ortega Taco shells that they sent us same thing and I would just like loaded up and make a chicken Taco out of this. Don't goods while he? Put it over, put it over cauliflower rice and then scuba salsa. These? This is great. This particular flavor. Terrific I don't WanNa give any preliminary ratings but it will rate. Hi.

"Okay. How do we feel about Colusa? Think! It's good i. mean it's tasty sweet. Okay, so the coffee flavored liquor is now available in to drink cold brew Kansas Okay so the drink contains real Arabica coffee with notes of Caramel chocolate and vanilla mixed with Colusa, even has the foam on top, and it's only eighty calories again. Wow So. That's because see. The thing is about Colusa. It's usually super calorie dense like leakers like the very very sweet, and so the fact that this says eighty calories a can you know I feel like I would try this and I would make some kind of fun recipes out of it so I'm excited to check that out. Put a little whip on top I. think it'll be good two hundred in a blender with some ice. From the recipe creations I smell a facebook live. Okay, so before we jump in. I do want to say that we haven't yet another fantastic sponsor for this week's episode, you guys. Are you excited about the sponsor, very? I know I am it's our old pals at enlightened first of all enlightened? Sorry, they make the best ice cream and frozen products in the Biz in addition to their incredibly delicious badeah being bought a boom snacking broad beans, which are to die for but today we are specifically talking about a new frozen product. They have you know. Enlightened started out with novelties. They had those ice cream bars originally before they got into pints and all the other great stuff that they do, but they have a new bar called enlightened fruit infusions that are low in sugar there, especially popular with the Kito audience because they're totally Kito, friendly, right? Very low in sugar, sixty ninety calories, hardly any fat. Three to seven grams of fiber, three to five grams of sugars and total, which is pretty incredible for a fruit bar, and they're real fruit frozen pops. They literally have seventy to eighty percent less sugar than most of the competition, and they are not made with any artificial sweeteners. I love these bars. They were nice enough to send them to me like during the pandemic freezer, they're really refreshing. Their infused with natural herbs and other feel good ingredients, but all you really taste. Is that fruity deliciousness now I love the flavors that they have with these because think about how cute and fund these are coconut plus immunity immunity. With elements like elderberry and high biscuits that support a healthy immune system have strawberry and chill. With like calming ingredients like Lavender Camomile and more. And like usually that stuff feels a little like I, don't know. Earthy crunchy a little bit out there to me, but I'm just telling you. The strawberry is my favorite flavor, the watermelon soothe. Has Tim. Rick and other anti inflammatory ingredients, and they have a pineapple and renew flavor with digestive benefits from Dandelions, root, Ginger, root, and more so have you tried these bars I have and I'm like blown away that you get all those benefits and it's just a delicious fruit bar. I was Kinda hoping that maybe you'd want to. Make it a little run down the hill and drop it off at our house. Maybe I should have done that I. I don't know what's left. There might just be sticks left like an ice cream truck. Will you like play some music while you pull up to our house amount, enlighten fruit infusions. Sure, but if by any chance you miss the ice cream, hungry girl as she drives by Your House, you can get these at whole foods. All right we might do that and. Everyone else could do that. We were definitely <hes> doing home for whole foods home delivery, so we'll definitely do that for sure. Okay. Well good work from the enlightened people. We Love Them I love everything they put out. This is just a new thing for them. And I say Kudos to them because they have really been doing so well with other Kito friendly products. Okay well onto the hall I am so excited. I have. Have to say we're going to jump in and start tasting. Some of the stuff that I found a trader Joe's. I'm not saying all of this is new, but I have to say it is all new to me so and that's what doesn't matter. Yeah, it doesn't and sometimes you know it's good to to pick up some foods that you hope will be around forever. Because Trader Joe's is known for like having all these. Products, and hopefully some of these will stick around for the long haul, but we are starting off with some savoury items. We've got an exciting egg for todd with Swiss cheese and cauliflower so I. I saw these in the freezer section. I know Aaron who works with US swears by these. She said Lisa. You need to try this. You put it in a flat bread. You make a rap out of it I think they're super cute and you. You can do a lot with them. It says the serving as to for Tatas, but I feel like you only need one especially. If you're creative with it, they have one hundred and thirty five calories, each seven and a half grams of fat twelve and a half grams of protein and their little egg pucks. They're cute. They're very fluffy to.

"Those pesto Genovese chicken, It's not really going to affect me in any way, and I'm still going to buy the product because I think they do a great job. But this is the hill that some people stand on. There are so many incredibly important issues today. And there are people that have really conversations tohave about race and about police brutality and so many things that are really important. But we gotta make sure Trader Joe's changes their Middle Eastern label from Trader Joe to Arabian Joe. That's just not fair. For example, Trader Ming's Is used to brand the change Chinese food Arabian Jo Brand's Middle Eastern food. I'm not sure about that one by the way. Because I get that swarm a chicken? I don't know if it says Arabia, Joseph, I don't think I've ever even noticed. Trainer jump Those is for Italian food and trader Joe's son brands their Japanese cuisine. I haven't noticed that one either, but I don't typically buy Mochi, a trader Joe's because Machi is Weird. Furthermore, the trader Joe's company takes pride in the fact that the founder Joe Colombe, Took inspiration in building the Trader Joe's brand from a racist book in a controversial theme park attraction, both of which received criticism for romanticizing Western imperialism and fetishizing, Non Western people's What is she talking about? Trader Joe got the idea for Trader Joe's From the jungle cruise ride at Disneyland. Apparently, that's racist, too. I thought it was just anti elephant. For some reason they shoot that elephant and I don't really understand why You can't have the jungle Cruise. Because that inspired trader Joe To make a kitschy chain of grocery stores wherever and wears Hawaiian shirts, and I still can't figure out why they ring that Bell. But I love it. They have the best food there. There. Carne Asada. I made nachos with that this weekend. Huge fan of Trader Joe's, and I'd like to point out Even though As of 12 15 in the afternoon on Monday, the 28th of July on Ly 2800 people have signed this petition trader Joe's is already buckled under pressure. And I don't really fault them for it. They don't need this negative press. They don't need this. They have the fearless flyer. They want to put up their own press. They're going to tell you when they've made cookie butter cookies. That's what's really important. They don't need this going around. And, yeah, it might cost a little money to repackage but the fact that people I believe that this is so incredibly offensive. It's just ridiculous. And it also point to something I've talked about before. The Internet culture. Because if this was 25 years ago This family would have gone to trader Joe's. Maybe they were legitimately offended. Still kind of doubt that But let's say they were legitimately offended and maybe they'd talk about it to a few people and most people around them would be like that's not really that big of a deal. So whatever you do you Because you could make a post online and it goes out to every edge of the world. You can find anybody that has your belief system on the Internet. In fact, I have a world of seven billion people. Let's just even go further down than that. A country of 350 million people. There are 2000 people. The trader Joe's is racist. Think about that. Less than 0.1% agree with this petition. But because It showed a number that had more than two zeros. All the news agencies reported on it. And this is the problem that I have. This story again Got first posted in our local papers are local TV stations. It's in The New York Times. It's in use a Today it's in the late times. It's everywhere. And still Only 2800 people have seen it and signed it. To me. The story is That about 10 million people probably saw this story of the last three days. And they thought Well, that's a bunch of nonsense. What do you tell me? Do you think Trader Joe's Is racist. 800 to 2 to K. A. B. C 1 802 225222 Is the jungle cruise racist? I still don't really understand that one. But Also, we're trying to differentiate culture in a multicultural, You could get every kind of culture food insider trader Joe's, and that should be something that celebrated. But using the name G o tow. Is that offensive? Should we just be calling Italian olive oil? Or is that offensive too? Because now you're isolating out Italians, and that's a stereotype that Italians would make olive oil. How dare they? Doing? Trader Joe's is racist. I don't I'm still going to shop there, and I'm not going to be the reverse boycott or being like, well, they buckled under pressure. I'm not going to support them. I'm still going to support them. But the fact This is something that gets perpetuated nationally. When we have so many other things going on. And it distracts you because it's something that we all see, and it's something that we all know food is the great equalizer. It is the great harmonious Isar food is something we all have in common is we all have to eat So the stories of course, going to get your attention. It is just ridiculousness. Poor trader Joe's, You know. Since Covad started. I'm not allowed to go grocery shopping because my fiance says, quote. I'm not careful enough. Over. That means I guess it touched my face too much, and she's probably right.

"Remember red blend from a NAPA winery that was selling for sixty bucks. The. The wineries website that trader Joe's was celebrate twelve ninety nine. I remember Penal Nuwara that the. Company and made it with sign up for ninety nine dollars, a magnum that trader Joe's was selling for thirteen dollars. You know you get those prices and not everyone. Is that price? But that's kind of the fun is because you're getting these winds. That, you don't know where they're from their negotions. By this point. You kind of have a history trader Joe's. And you're getting these name brand wineries making wines, and you know sometimes you don't know because a name you know some name brand. wineries sold it to this company who then context rated Joe's and has. Make an Kinda bounces down the road a ways. But that's kind of fun. I liked that aspect of the winds and you really don't. There are negotions out there the retail shops. There's a couple of people are doing that stuff and. But it doesn't mean it's not as elaborate a trader. Joe's a couple of people doing negotions. You can go to retail shop and get negotiate wine. But you don't always. It's not always as up front as trader Joe's and as inexpensive as trader Joe's. So. That's I really like that aspect of it where I don't know I'm going to have a one line when it's done, it's done who is it? Where is it? Why is it in? Is Actually. As good as your hoped it to be in whatever and all. He doesn't quite do that as much. Aldi also has. their champagne. Last year was the best wine I think I had all year is a nineteen ninety nine champagne, and then they had the The Rosa from Provence that sold out in our and a half. So. As they're crazy deals to and their. Their, wines that are interesting, so that's edgy, got us a huge. Huge buying power. They have a ton of stores where they can move wine. Put Hair, but they're. They're getting really good. They're really. They started out working with European winemakers, and like I, said their reputation in Europe is huge and United States getting pretty good, too, and you know just because you're seen price of what's debts to Chiba. Camping any good. There are advantages that. By being store is, you'd be surprised. How many people have store fronts pretty much? Every grocery store any kind of. Liquor store. Chain of any size has some wines in there. That's just their wind brand. There's so many bandages to have brand just made for you. Because you're you're cutting out. Certain costs that are that are really substantial cost sometimes. And with trader Joe's. Me If. WanNa know who made the wine. Look at the back label, because always says you know what part of California Washington. Oregon it was made that and look at what city that is and type in wineries from that city. Whatever the biggest one isn't that setting? That's probably who made it. So there are really good wineries making their wine. There's reasons why they have bandages of cost in the have, they can sell a lot of wine. The more you, the more wine, you can sell cheaper, you can sell it. Why want to sell it to them? You get a wine trader Joe's relying on wind the trader Joe's. You're pretty much. You're you're going to make a profit that year. Because you're. GonNa Pay Upfront. You're going to move a lot of grapes. You can some wineries like so a lot of wine inexpensively, and that's how to make their profit, and they make these high end wines. That makes a reputation. So this is a win. Win All way around the board. That's kind of why we go to trader Joe's and all. Because you get wines in the right. Price Point that we're looking for. They know how to pick out wines. Winds are usually pretty interesting. They seem to take care of IT I. Don't get that many bad bottles of wine. They're not overheating and they're not doing bad things with them. They seem to move quick enough, so there really isn't any problems with the that can go wrong. They're interesting. They're fun. The European wines are kind of like how they drink in Europe and American wines are some the biggest winemakers making them lions. And, that's why we picked out trader. I guess they're not the only place to go. There's a lot of value priced wines at retail wine shops, and we'll get into that tune a little bit. We'll go in a little different regions. What have you? But. There's reasons why they're inexpensive. There's reasons why we like them, and there's reason why they're pretty interested in the nave over the years. They've gotten really good at doing what they do. And they have wines. You gotta take a chance. You got to like what they do. But if you do like what they're, winds are going to get a bargain, and that's what cheap wind finer is all about, and that's why we go to cheap wine finder and all to find wines to write about a good deal of time and I think last year. Nine of the top ten wine reviews on our website or from trader, Joe's Aldi. Seems like the rest of you like to? So. It's for me on this one Keep a cheap. And come something pretty soon. And hope everything's open it up. Everything's Nice and sunny and. Hopefully things. Are Better no justice, no peace and I'll be talking. Bye Bye!.

"Hey everyone. It's me Lisa Lillian also known as hungry girl. I am here very excited with Mikey and Jamie is. Excited to be here with us. Yes, I'm so excited for several reasons one. I probably sound a little more clear right now because we have new fancy schmancy audio capabilities so I probably sound a little more like I'm next. You guys on thinking that. I'm as happy as I would be. Next year. And I'm also excited because this episode. Wait for it. It's our first hall in months. And not gas any hall. No, it's a trader Joe's hall and I actually I slept trader. Joe's I bought a bunch of stuff. And then what did I do I? Left it on your doorstep. It was the best surprise delivery ever. We didn't know what you guy. We just knew there was a bag of traderjoes. Yeah so we've got a whole bunch of stuff to taste, which is super exciting, because not that I. Don't love the podcast that we do, but I'm going to be honest. My favorite ones when we try foods. Are You with me? I'M NOT GONNA lie. I'm I pretty excited about them too, and I think the audience loves them I think so too, and today's podcast is also sponsored. Do. You want to know who. You! Two hundred who it's also. I already know, but it's a great sponsor, so tell us wait. You already know Jamie, you really blueberries. Today's podcast is sponsored by a bean boom. I love that name, but are being about a boom so clever. It's really fun to say it is. Let's say that for the next half hour. Being okay I'm. GonNa stop. I'm really annoying I'm GONNA give you. The history of a bean bought a boom. I. I don't know if you guys out there. Know this, but the fantastic people behind enlightened ice cream that ice cream that were obsessed with that we love. They created these crunchy snacks several years ago. They're made from roasted broad beans or fava beans, which I was unfamiliar with believe it or not like. Are you a father of being Fan Norman until I turned? I only knew of them from that movie. <hes> fava beans with. The lands exactly well. These are like it's this crunchy snack. That is incredible like they come in one hundred calorie packs. There's like thirteen flavors everything from sweet Saracho, sweet onion, mustard, zesty ranch spicy was sobbing nacho cheese. They even have sweet flavors that are great to you can eat the straight out of the package like instead of like a pretzel or a chip and you know I'm obsessed with like salty. Snacks and their portion controlled and they're loaded with protein. They have fiber. They're good for your. They're all natural there Vegan I don't even know where to stop their amazing. They're D- best. I do not know how they squeeze so much flavor and crunch into those little bits of deliciousness. And like the thing that gets me so excited is whenever there's a product that I love. It's like I personally feel responsible if people are going to invest in buy something and if somebody doesn't love it I'm like wait. You'RE GONNA love it, but in this case I have to say they're running a special that you. It's like too good to be true. You get fifty two bags individual snack bags for twenty, nine, ninety seven. It's under thirty dollars for fifty two bags. You get all the flavors I think it's like four of each flavor. which is incredible, and so it comes out to like sixty cents a bag and they call it the boombox which is. So cute. We put this in our email. The other day and people went absolutely wild, I think they sold like seven hundred and fifty thousand just kidding. They sold Laurie. There's still some left. And it's normally it's normally already a great value. But you hit that twenty nine dollar mark with the forty percent off hungry girl, special right right. Yes, and they have to use code hungry forty <hes> hungry forty, so people go to being snacks, dot com, or you can go to Hungary Dash, go dot, com slash food cast when you see that link for the boombox use code, hungry forty and get free shipping and forty percent off, which is so cool, yeah? So, so good and I have to tell you Lisa. Do you know what my favorite uses for about you I bet you could guess for about about him. Probably has to do with lettuce towers so. It's like I can't even. It's just the flavor that it brings in the crunch. It's like croutons times a thousand. I agree with you, but my favorite uses just like stuffing them in my face. Dreamy which flavor do you go to? The I think. Is there a barbecue one? You want rbq. That's my favorite. That's my. Saracho. I Nelson like the sweet cinnamon on Yogurt on Greek yogurt. It's like I. I can't even it's so good.

It's nine ninety. Nine Pinot Noir Anderson Valley up in Mendocino. It's the valleys kind of inbetween to coastal mountain ranges. So gets all that cool air coming in. That cool weather likes the long long long growing season Pinot noirs when those grapes that wants to take forever to develop if it gets too hot in Gets to ripe kind loses all its nuances and under no reason to be drinking. It's because it's kind of you know Kinda Funky Kinda cool that we like it. I believed it One of the reasons I thought it was probably true because they had a real cork keep all cork so I have a couple of years will throw them out every so often because I looking why am I keeping these but you know like I have tens of one hundred. I'm not even sure. Corks there and six of Monreale in most of them are from bottles of wine. It costs more than what I normally try here. So you know anytime you see your role. Corgan a bottle of wine. There's no reason to spend the money on it. Why waste a cork something? You're going to buy and drink within twenty four hours so So that's that so so that one I thought. Oh It's probably twenty five dollars a trader. Joe's release the fareless fires says this Anderson Valley Pinot Noir reserve the NAPA. A Chardonnay was a grand reserve this reserve. And this one is that is comparable to a thirty dollar wine and yeah okay and I believe that For one thing is there is no wind governing body who drinks the wine wind go One hundred and fifty dollar. Why is six dollar one? I mean they. That's not how winus priced really and If you're a winery That's a well known reiner in years selling a Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. And even if you even if you bought the grapes and brought it to your so normal winery your Napa winery or whatever. Kaz wineries nowadays have long reaches for grapes. And you have a track record and you have a winemaker. Everybody knows where the winemaker is. And you have all this weight of history behind you can charge thirty dollars for a and more much more for an Anderson Valley Ale Pinot Noir. If you name what vineyard came for me you can charge more so yeah. This could be a thirty dollar Anderson Valley Mendocino Pinot Noir. And since I'm talking about I'm GonNa take a SIP because I like Pinot noir now trader. Joe's can't charge that because you don't know where it came from. I mean they'd be asking you to take a chance and it's kind of not the whole point of this. That's one of the wonderful things about these reserve wines because They're always worth taking a chance. I mean if you were going to Anderson value to buy one you might know which of those wineries you like better than the others and you would pick the one you wanted and pet. Spend that money for that one. Because you know what you're buying and here you're just trying to doughnut ten bucks. I'm going to give it a try. See you don't know if you're getting what you want but you're getting some that might be unique Some things kind of special. I think this wine is unique. You know ten bucks for Pinot Noir. That's a good Pinot. Noirs always great to do. And this is a good one. That's got tons of spies as got cherry flavors as it kind of goes on. It's like this A good mix of sharp flavors and rounded. Flavors it's got some weight in the path of fourteen point. Five percent does do his job but other than that. It's fine I actually prefer if I'm going to spend money on a Pinot Noir. I'll get a lighter more the`real kind of crazy cool Pinot noirs like Oregon. I really like sometimes they just disappear in your mouth. And every time you take a sip different flavors come out and a whole nother thing but I'll take any kind of wire to be honest with you and that's why this that's why you know that's why is could be thirty dollar more. Yeah you know if the right word put their name on any kind of wind cost three times more than a no-name storebrand one even if they bought it from them and Part of the prices like I read somewhere where you know. Price of wine the The the winery gets maybe a half to a third the cost of the bottle so the actual cost of these winds. You know just because it sells thirty bucks doesn't mean the wineries getting thirty bucks. That's where they like. Ciller door like you go to their winery and pay the price of the winery. Because you're paying the price that gets split with a distributor in the store and taxes always online. Give it to all of them so they get more money for them. That's beside the point. So a thirty dollar Pinot Noir. Mike you know the winery might make ten twelve bucks on it. You know depending. It's a rounded figure so trader. Joe's comes in and you know they think you know they're paying cash upfront. This is leftovers from another from something they already sold so that brings a price a little bit too. You can get these prices on these wines is because you're you're buying what is essentially leftover grapes or leftover juice or leftover completed wine. And you pay up front. And you're not competing with them if they sell this to negotiate of someone to put their own label on somebody else's wine well that might end up in the store. You know thirty dollar wine. The winery Selma Foreign. Selling for twenty bucks on another label. Four feet away. We'll portfolio four feet away. Might be taking business away from them. They sell the trader Joe's competing. So that's why these winds are a little bit cheaper. That's why this may well be a thirty dollar wine under certain conditions where you don't know where it is or who was in house made or anything else you're not gonNA toss thirty bucks in the pot for this. You know when you know everything about it when you make an informed decision you mean the one that you're not doing with these Trader Joe's reserve wines and there is a little bit of. I've been drinking these for a long time now so I do have an informed opinion on them so the I do know what I'm getting one I'm GonNa like and I'm pretty right most of the time but the who what and where the wine he had don't know so that's that and this. Is this Pune Wire Anderson Valley? If you're not really in tune with that and haven't had neom he'll you WANNA wind a little bit of power to it but still has the Pinot noir flavors. It's a good choice to try got tons of spice you like your spice European into our spicy. This is this one's going to talk to you. I'M GONNA take one more before I go. It's pretty good. It's nine nine. Maybe IT COSTS THIRTY. But under the circumstances of isn't because wine is kind of what you will pay for it then. If you don't know anything about it you're not. GonNa pay top dollar. So that's that this is this cheap wine fighter dot com and Dave and so far survive the virus hopefully year find to and hopefully. Everything's going well in pretty soon. I think we're going to start opening up and that's good for you and that's good for me and I'll talk to you in a couple of days audio's by and until then..

"Joe's wine and let me grab the bottle because it does go on for a while if the trader Joe's Reserve Pinot Noir Monterey County twenty a teen lot one ninety one and there's a long name for a ten buck wine and but that's okay and it's kind of an interesting wine trader Joe's wind specially these reserve wines are kind of interesting because They're one off wines you'll trader. Joe's has their own brands and they contract somebody who makes these brands for them and if they're popular you seem again and again for years. These are one off lines. Easier kind of special deal. So they're actually something you Kinda WanNa look for. Cas sometimes their wines that Might be normally selling for much more but trader Joe's gets a deal and sometimes they're winds. It should sell what they sell for. You never know. But that's kind of the fun of it and they never cost too much money. Though I did see that they had a twenty dollar Napa Oakville cab and I'm thinking I don't know about that. 'cause you get into the Ranger. I can actually get producers that I know not some unspecified producers that make you know decent Napa wines for and that money and side about that one but this is a Monterey up you know. Nuwara and Monterey is just south of San Francisco Monterey Bay and actually the largest producer of Pinot Noir in California beat Santa Barbara and can narrow San Russian reverence nomad coast and All the famous ones don't always think of Monterey when you think of Pinot Noir but they do very well for themselves and It's also I think the number two Chardonnay producer and part of the reasons why they can do. This is off the coast. There's the big blue spot. There's a big hole in the ocean at the water goes very deep meth like a castration of cold water and it gives the breeze off the shore and it's nice and cold and So there's a lot of cool weather areas in Monterey and is awesome coastal mountains or the black the cold air the nurse warmer areas so you. Monterey has a lot of different wines and a lot of them are fairly affordable though they do have they're pricey winds. I'm GONNA take a sip of this one because it's kind of interesting. There's a little bit spicier than most wines but on the other end. It has a little bit of Rounded smooth blackberry and milk chocolate so and take a sip because I like taking a sip has got really good mouth. Feel it's It's a smooth and silk and your palate a little heavy. I think it's thirteen point on the alcohol. Which isn't that crazy nowadays. You know Back in the day like with Burgundy if it was over twelve five people had a fit but in California you can get a little hotter. It's not it's not a on those the`real Pinot noirs were all the flavors just kind of low by and it's not one of those. Pena no wires. That are kind of poplar nowadays that you can confuse for Sarah. It's you know it's maybe I look closer to a heavy but it's not a theory. Oh that's pretty good and there's not that much to say about it I don't they. Don't tell you anything about it. You know if I knew a little bit like one of the reasons. Pinot Noir. It looks inexpensive about Pinot. Noir has gotten really good in the last years because they're starting to make the make the wines and Beaujolais which which is using Carbonic maceration which is a technique that brings all the flavors together quicker and it comes so you can sell it sooner in the age of those long and it works in bourgeois all of a sudden these inexpensive cannon nets wonderful Pinot. Noirs are kind of like pretty good in their own right and. I don't know if they did this here because they don't tell you too much about anything. trader. Joe's that's one. They're valued wine partners and got a whole bunch of them and they actually have if you know who makes them in Kano unabashed them on this one. But they're big name producers. You know just a big name producer. Made a doesn't mean like the the big name winemaker made or they made it with the grapes. They normally use it could be you know grapes. They purchased from somewhere and it could be their associate winemaker. Their intern winemaker. I mean you don't know but it's with the big name. Producer is kind of a guaranteeing the quality a little bit and making sure everything's fine and that's good And this is ninety nine. It's a Monterey Pino new wire. It's a one off me and it's not gonNA be around next year if you see it give it a try. It's it's it's kind of different. It's got this rounded milk chocolate and And Black Cherry thing and it's got At first it's it it smooth out but had this. All toyed spices like boom is sharp. Hit of candy hot spice and the two of them mashed like. Whoa then the little after a while the the smoother flavors just kind of took over in the spice calm down and yeah so but that's kind of fun when he had a Pinot noir and it's got a foam you gotta wine. That does some things that you don't normally get in. It's gotTa Fun when it only cost nine ninety nine and you know. That's what trader. Joe's reserve winds are good for you. Take a chance and see what you get. It's a one off thing you know. By the time you go back and get another one sold out and you wait for the next thing that come along so it's just Take a chance and see what you get. It's one of those winds and you're going to go to nice interesting wine and when it comes to pin and wire interesting half the battle. I don't know so for me I don't have. I don't know who made it. I know who sold it? Don't have too many details of the tasty Nelson everything in the cheap wine finer dot com website. Where I wrote that out So if you if you're in trader Joe's stop The same people made this made the Chilean Pinot Noir. Which is the piano. Northern got the seventeen hundred scene of a party in the animals are not are the party not humans and their worrying mask of different animals. It's one of my favorite wine labels. If it doesn't have skulls on at least you have animals pretending to be other animals. So that's it for me. You know somebody you made. Why Pinot Noir that I liked before ten bucks. Give it a shop. It's all good. What can you ask for audio over now? And we'll have some other things. I think I'm not to cast this week. We'll see what they have to offer the New Year and talk to you in a few days.

"Com today. We're doing another wine. Were being cheaply fancy with this one. It is a you run. Blend Talk let me grab the bottle and read off the name of it. It is trader Joe's Petite Reserve Arroyo. Seco Monto Ray G. S. M. Rome style red blend twenty eight teen. So this is a A A blend from the Rhone Valley Chateau nonstop One of those mm-hmm Grenache Sarai and Movember blends that the southern Rhone so famous four and. There's good reason for it to be famous Grenache grenache is kind of a sleek and lean and intense wine and ceramic and be a little bit round a little plump in juicy. Maybe a little spicy and move. Adra gives a little bit of an edged everything a little bit of a intense fruit. A little bit of Tannin's a little bit dark color a little bit of a floral notes on on the nose and they all come together and they all add something that the other one doesn't have and that's why it's a famous red blend in. It's one of my favorites. You know the like the number one red blend is the Bordeaux Bland. It's the It's cabinet nom yum and Merlot how they interact. And then you also toss and Cabernet franc jonker petite for dough and that's the maybe the world famous red blend but the other one the G. S. M. it's a little less famous little little. You don't see it as often but it holds. Its own and like I said this is a six ninety nine GSM from trader Joe's Aurora Rower Seco- is in Monterey so monitoring is in the central coast though it is a sub Aba of a sub Aba of a navy a so it's from very very small region. There are some really good vineyards in there. I looked at the vineyard. Mapping when you got J. Lower and went and I think Wagner's ask something in there and on Amazon there and there's a whole bunch of other people who are really good people making can wines and it's one of the places where the Rhone Rangers at C.. You know that's a group of people. Central Coast can have this going on on the North Coast. mm Napa Sonoma's net all kind of do board dough wines or Burgundy Wines burgundies Chardonnay and Pinot noir and then the cabin- Merlot was up there and they still do those wines in the in the central coast to but they're also kind of Dig in the South Eastern French inch Grapes to and that's what this is so this is a very good area. It's not the biggest area in the world for vineyards There's a pecking order. Obviously California the label that usually means since they have a wide area source their grapes. It usually means there's going to be a a reasonably inexpensive. It doesn't have to be if you search your grapes from the most elite vineyards gonna cost more money but usually speaking. That's not what they do. Then you get to central coast. It's going up a little bit And price because it's you know a little bit less you just pick in the central coast and go to Monterey and the pressure to go up a little bit more than you get into A sub a royal SECO- And then you get down from that you get into like You know state and then from that you get into single the vineyard and then from that you get into a section of vineyard each each each level the price goes up just a little bit but this is like halfway up the chart forgetting Pricey Pricey and it's six ninety nine which is a very good thing The people made the wine as the S. A. S. V. Vineyards or Wine Company and Royal Seco- vineyards is what they're called. They're from the area. They make wise and morale for forty years. They've made other wines They're not Only doing Arroyo Seco Why they can contract elsewhere and I think they have some holdings and load a few other places too so they can make wines elsewhere and they've made aide winds for trader Joe's on a regular basis? Oh we have a small way fancy French blend.

"We're talking about at best. They were boring. You know L. Cherry flavored wine not much going on. It was an expensive wine or it could be not so good. I mean you it was like okay you know it was like l.. Drink it but I'm not I don't like it and somewhere along the line and I know where they started hard making Pinot Noir in the budget the same way that winemakers and Bourget France started making their gamay. And if you're not into boulet I mean if you think only on Nouvelle Noteboo July. It's that's a whole other thing. That's very very young wine wine. Just a party they have and that's what they drink at this party. Kinda got to be there but they do some interesting things that I actually can't tell you. What the Carbonic Maceration and open fermentation these are waves of making the wine? Come together quickly develop quickly which is why this is a twenty eighteen and it tastes like a piano wire that would be maybe another year of aging maybe a more intricate production techniques dis berry. They're not easy production techniques to do. You gotta have skills to pull them off but Pinot noir makers in the lower lower range and this is twelve ninety nine Trader Joe's has Price advantages because they cut out the middleman to a certain degree. Not all the way but if you ever saw pie chart of what we're all the money goes. I mean. The people who grew the grapes made the wind make like a third of it. Everybody else makes the rest and trader. Joe's is cutting into that so their wines that are Whatever the price they they will normally sell in a retail shop? If they weren't you know trader Joe's wasn't the middle wasn't wasn't their own middleman for a couple of bucks. You know to maybe a lot of bucks cheaper and I don't know what this would cost and I don't know the details about the grapes and I don't know any of that But as twelve ninety nine in most Kenichiro Spanos new ours. Start at twenty bucks. And it's not you know ms on Communist seem at forty and fifty dollars so twelve twenty and twelve ninety nine for a Pinot noir from canals. That's any good at aw. Aw is a pretty good price. In Carnero's is a area half in Sonoma's half in Napa that southern southern border the San Pablo ban the San Pablo Bay is the bay just above connected to the San Francisco Bay so all that cold air from the Pacific Ocean is on the southern border. Even though if bay wasn't there this would not be a Pinot Noir Chardonnay that they also do shar name Canarias Groin area. Way Too hot and actually we that Bay gives a Delta that makes Clarksburg and Lodi Viable bowl so it's kind of a freak of geography that makes Carneiro Subpoena Nawar Growing area that's inwardly because it's from from the most like the California's release the noma it's noma coast. Ab a Russian River Aba and kind of inward is this Carneiro Gross. And it's a half a NAPA we're talking about areas that are more merlot. Cabernet Sauvignon Zinfandel areas. And here. They're rocking some very very good wire and chardonnays and I'm going to have a SIP because I've been talking for away is now and I got you know. Have a happy new year to where we go. This twelve ninety nine point nine nine wires kind of Like a classic California Pena Nieto Wire now. The new the new style is the Miami style which is big and fruity and got you know it. It's it's doesn't have the old school piano. Wires are kind of delicate and they got herbs and mushrooms and like Orange Zest. funky favors favors. Unlike the sense are bacon fat and dry autumn leaves and the tar crazy kind of crazy. We're almost taste that go along with the Cherries in the plums. Bradbury's they're cool in the more delicate. The are the more crazy cool they are. And this one's kind of a funky little Pinot Noir for twelve ninety nine. It's solid it's a I've had worse Budvar's cost more. I mean not that there were actually worse. I don't want to say that. But this one asks a lot of that. Weirdness that weird funky thing going on that. I like Pinot Noir and it it. It's there's twelve ninety nine. It's a salary and now this is a this trader Joe's Grand Reserve Latte twenty three canaries Blah Blah Blah. This is the tenth of vintage. They've been doing this for a while. I don't know who makes it they But somebody that is fairly stable. There are no who budget wineries in Canales. Everybody there can sell their grapes and make their wine that go into in two forty and fifty dollar wines. There's no one out there. Really in the business of making twelve ninety nine Wyans less they sell them off or whatever. Whatever there's different reasons so wines grapes off and winds off and what have you but for ten years at stabilised not someone? Who's you know who needs money? Quick that's not something making a quick buck or having a problem that is You know ten years where Pinot noirs some stability he that not all the winds and the retail wine shops HAP- so this winds been around a while I noticed this year of alcohol content was like thirteen nine were last year. We did the we did. The two thousand seventeen this the two thousand eighteen on cheap wine find that was up to fourteen point five. I remember Thinking oh now this is going to be one of those big ones. which I I'll drink mayo me but I prefer Nawar? I perform to be a little more subtle fluttl and enticing. I mean the little you know if I want a big Wine Zinfandel Rob Greg. Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot. Even you know. I don't need Pinot Noir to do that for me. I'll go elsewhere for that but if you like like the style fine. I'm cool with that. Just not me us. But they're going. I'm notice it because because I get myself worked up on this I'm going to have to take success. And it's a salad Pinot Noir. It's way better than they were when we first started out nothing in this nothing at twelve ninety nine price range came close to this. It's got good flavor. It's got some details. Got Some interest. This is great. It doesn't bite. It gives the wine length that allows all flavors unfold Tannin's or smooth the The finish is fine. It's you know it's subtle but it goes on for a way. It's a fine little line as twelve ninety nine. It's better than you should expect. A twelve ninety nine are to be except nowadays. I kind of expect them to be this way because they have been this good recently and that staffer may it's a good Pinot Noir. It doesn't cost much if you like the old school style rather other than male me style. This is the wine for you still made. It might be a little bold for the Burgundy guys but You know they're not drinking twelve ninety nine. NPR's from trader Joe's so there you go We're starting out twenty twenty. We're going to have a great twenty twenty. You come along with us and enjoy the ride and we'll pick out some great wines and hopefully we can steer direct direction for a wider too and audio out sock to you I yeah..
