Mike loose will pitcher news story. I will pitch news story. And then candy Lou or can't use cave. You are. We'll put you to assign her another episode slip up, man. I don't know. What's going on with me today? Yeah. So that's coming up. Choose your news where you take control the program Hannah Scott now joins us from Olympia a handed. Did you hear that you were the focus the main character of Tracy Taylor's traffic report, just now did I felt very special. Very good. You've been tracking something a rape kit. Bill. Let's get the background on how long this has been a situation. The number of rape kits had been waiting and the frustration of families than give us an update on what's going to occur. This has been an issue for years. I believe it was back in two thousand fourteen we found out in this state that there were just thousands of rape kits sitting on police evidence shelves that had not been tested. I mean, I'm talking decades old it took years to figure out exactly how many we just got that after the G. Ferguson did a full inventory this last October. It was ten thousand untested rape kits. The oldest one was from nineteen eighty two. This is a huge deal. The problem is that we didn't have the staff in the labs are the equipment in the lab is outdated, and it just it's taking two years, plus sometimes to get these rape kits tested. So there's been a concerted effort. There was a task force. A legislative task force created in two thousand fifteen and has been some slow progress. But now this over the last year democratic Representative Pino or wall and others have really been working furiously to figure out how to address this. She went to Ohio last year in. In the interim between sessions and looked at what they had done is. They they cleared a massive backlog of believe it was fourteen thousand rape kits because they had a high tech high throughput lab, which can cut the testing town time down to in some cases about twenty five days. I believe so she lobbied hard to get the funding for that. And a lot of other things including for the first time mandating that all these thousands of kids actually be submitted for testing that is all in this Bill that has worked its way through the legislative session it passed. And we just got the word today that governor Inslee is going to sign this into law on Tuesday. This is a happy day. This is a very good day. And I want to thank everybody who Olympia for getting this done, and I'll wait to criticize how long it took later. But this is awesome. Thank you for waiting to criticize. I appreciate that. What is the Hannah's still on with us? Correct. Yes. I am Hannah. How what's the what's the what assurances do we have that this backlog doesn't happen in the future is they're going to be some sort of capacity to process these things in an efficient way. Once we get past the backlog. There's a flu stuff that goes on in this Bill, but yes is the sort answer to your question for the Vancouver lab state crime lab, I got a chance to go down there. Earlier this year, they've already got this empty space for this. High tech throughput lab that's going to be up and running within the year that will cut the testing time down to forty five days, the legislation that just passed also requires that all of those old kids be tested be completed within two years. It also has a thing about not destroying any of the kids that are currently in existence and a lot of other things and creates oversight to make sure that we don't ever have this kind of a backlog, again, they were very careful and meticulous about the way that they put this legislation together to make sure we're never in this position again. Do they say how many staff they're going to be hiring to run this lab because the computers can all do it themselves. Well, actually, the the the tech does make quite a bit of difference on this. But yeah, it's it's twenty believe twenty new staff at the lab dedicated to this purpose, and this this is a huge deal. And it's not just the rate kids at the top priority on this, but already because our labs the state crime lab is is getting backlogs on some of them. Murder cases on our toxicology labs also have issues. So this is going to really bring us into the future and a great step forward to to help get these kids tested in. It's it's not just about giving the survivors what Bain need, and let them know that what they went through mattered, which is a huge deal, obviously. But also the few kids that we have started testing in many cases, we're seeing these are repeat offenders who in the time that the kit that they've had been sitting on the shelf. These people have gone out and attacked and raped someone else. So it's about public safety. I to hear this everybody here. This parrots kids everybody anyone who is outraged my sexual assault. This is why this is this is so important that this is getting done now. And again, I'm an all withhold criticism. Because if done that about how long it's taken, and let's explain this really clearly of a woman was right. She went through the process of getting a rake Irap exam. Brave terrible thing to go through a lot of women. Tell me the kit is done it's sitting there. And it sat there you said the oldest one was nine hundred eighty two in between those kits not being tested. Those men have gone out in some cases raped other people the the faster we get through this backlog. Now, the faster we can make sure that doesn't happen anymore. So I have that right? That is absolutely correct. We've already in the kids that have been tested cured. There's been a handful of cases where we have identified repeat offenders in Detroit where they also cleared a major backlog. I believe they found something to the three to four hundred repeat offenders and a couple of hundred serial, rapists. Wow. This is magnificent that this is finally getting done and spend a long time for me to say this and thank you Jhansi for for signing this on Tuesday. This is a great thing Hannah. Thank you for joining us. Give McCain and Mike and taught you appreciate it very much. Anytime. So today is also, and this is something that's come through the legislative process. Today's also four twenty day. And I am officially fuddy-duddy. None hipster. But you know, what I am. I'm actually the rebel. I am the counterculture. I now the hippie. I now stand opposed to the mass culture in in you who control the culture with your four twenty me pure way of living in my refusal to take intoxicants in my discomfort with celebrate intoxicants on a Dave and toxication, right? According to Seattle DOT one hundred and twenty fifth between Lake City and thirty fifth Sandpoint way between one hundred fifteenth and a hundred and twenty fifth and from what we understand from our crews on the ground twenty third in Sandpoint also shut down for this investigation. It's put added pressure for drivers in victory. Heights. You're gonna find it meadow broke. You're also gonna find the drive to be a little on the slower side on Lake City way as well. So again, it pushed a lot of people over to fifteenth avenue northeast, and that's why we're seeing that hesitation up through the Northgate area. Now drivers here in Seattle on the major roadways like I five northbound is busy outside of the we're gonna find brake lights rather outside of the convention center and heading into parts of Mountlake terrace. And of course, that's a normal slowing outside of forty first and heading out towards state route five to eight Marysville. I just checked and it looks like we are still blocking north on four zero five just out of five to seven and that's causing the backups outside of like actually from a totem lake a hundred thirty second heading up towards the same. We're definitely finding some slowing on westbound five twenty from about Bellevue way across the bridge deck eastbound ninety through the tunnel drivers into coma are finding a very wet commute for you. Especially after highway eighteen heading out to the dome in parts of Lakewood and through the Nisqually river basin. Traffic brought to you by Michael's Toyota. Volkswagen Subaru Bellevue. "Tracy Taylor. So if you won the lottery, your ex-husband ex-wife ex-girlfriend ex-spouse. Would you give him part of the Chiching, Texas? Why would or wouldn't at nine eight nine seven three. So here's why we're asking is because it's a radio show. Plus, this we have an update on the Laos about the layabout layabout who wouldn't find work wasn't able to find work. But then he found two hundred and seventy five million dollars in a lottery. So candy. Refreshes story named Mike and he had been unemployed for fifteen years. He had also been married for those fifteen years lucky. He was because she took care of him when she decided she had had enough. They got a divorce two months later. Mike one two hundred seventy three million dollars in the mega millions jackpot. He forgot his lotto tickets on the counter at the gas station. He's the guy who went back, and oh, these are mind. Yeah. Anyway, that's my talking about. Okay. That's mike. Recently got divorced in October. And I followed her around for fifteen years and she worked at I didn't. Okay. Sure. Now, his ex wife, obviously, not part of the payday because she was already away from him. When people found out he was divorced. She said I don't want him back anyway. And that was kind of the entire story, but she did support him for fifteen years. And this was his only job we had a dog. He took care of the dog jer. A dog. He took care of. Hi. You think she deserves some tat as some cash from this jackpot. And first of all everyone wanted to know she's even asking for money now in the beginning. She said, no. But she quote expected him to do the right thing. Wrecks husband one over two hundred seventy million dollars. You're the breadwinner when you were married, you think you're entitled to any of that. I don't want anybody to misconstrue anything that I'm coming after him because I've heard this from numerous places that I'm coming after him. I'm taking him back to court. I want part of his lottery winnings. I don't she doesn't. She says. No, she also doesn't want him two hundred seventy million dollars. Does not make me appealing to her. That's what she said in the New York Post interview. It's I don't think it's the money that doesn't make you appealing to her. It's the fact that she didn't work for fifteen years. Plus, you forgot two hundred and seventy three million dollars at the gas station and through the kindness of strangers some, hey, sir. You forgot you two hundred and seventy three million dollars. That's maybe the. Attractive part. Well, his ex I leaned the only thing that I would like to see is obviously termination of spousal support. Sorry was still paying him alimony. But say that again, and she's legally required to wait. She would like not to do that anymore. The only thing that I would like to say is obviously termination of spousal support. Yep. So some is to summer is. I lean and Mike were Mary for fifteen years. She's sending him checks. She sending him checks style. And he has one in seventy three million. I would like to think that maybe this is just a red tape thing. And they just haven't gotten around to it yet. She has to file for that. Yeah. The ending of spousal support. An and I don't think this is gonna be massively. It's a funny little turn in the story. It's not going to be massive controversy. Judges can immediately and that and they do in cases in thousands of thousands of cases, we don't hear about you know, who wanted someone has actually gotten a job where they don't need that financial supported they'll ended break. What do you think maybe the cat should ended on his own? Like, maybe I thought they said they had adopt. Say what I mean person? I would give my ex some money as much as they needed others from Tiffany on Capitol Hill. Thank you, Tiffany from the forty five money to wait a minute question, Tiffany. No, no. She just said she would she wouldn't because she'll just said she Tiffany, listen. That's that's a nice name, and is one of my favorite female names in the no, you wouldn't because nothing to Tiffany, Tiffany. Look, you don't say Tiffany nice lady. No, you liking her name means nothing to her share to give people like it when you like their name. But here's the thing Tiffany. What if the exit I need all the money? They're not going to give him all he needs. I mean, you're a nice person. And all that's. As they needed. So I guess. All I need fifty years about working, but I'll feed the dog. Okay. The four to five money to annex. Is there an extra reason? I hope I got the they wanted to from the two. Oh, six look. Here's the thing. She already got too much alimony speaking from personal experience. So absolutely not I wouldn't give her more money. Now, that's his side of the story. I hope that he's not related to Tiffany. Because then she would be kind, and he would be bitter. That's true from the two of six that deadbeat should be required to pay back all of the spousal support that she has paid him. At least it's not going to be much as he hasn't been on spouses support that long. That's the problem. He was on spousal support for fifteen years. But I mean, that's not the legal tight legally enforced type. It's only been a few months. So it's really not going to be a major windfall for her from two five three. All my ex's are cheating. They're not gonna get anything. I guess I know how to pick him. Yeah. Well, I guess you do from the two zero six here's the thing about exes you stop communication immediately. They would never know. I won. Except it's on the news 'cause left a lottery tickets at the grocery store, the forty five. Okay. So I'll get some of the winnings to an ex boyfriend because he was made to sign papers to quit because of his disability. So sure and he's running out of money. So I would do that to be nice that's lily. Lily sounds very nice. Okay. So you can judge is nice. But I regard Tiffany's nice person, and I'm the big bad guy. Well Lilly is the one who is reaching out to somebody in their specific situation. And she's not count that. He is an ex she's count in fact that he's somebody who needs help. So you might have I I sense can't have secret conversations going on in Google docs. Yeah. Did you read about this at all times? So the new sex thing, it's not it's not anymore. The Snapchat transition you say thing because that's not what this is. It's just any notes. And then sometimes you see the news article called its sexting. That's why it is. Because the news article. Did here's the content of the story. Yes. Beyond the headline. So young people are using Google docs to have their private talks and some of them are sexual talks. And I guess this. This.

"Tracy Taylor. By the way, the songs tonight. Andrew they're all love songs in their own way. Yeah. Sean, can you explain the challenge you were given in some of the songs you've selected to fulfil the challenge. Yes. Sure. All my songs are about making love. The right way. It is a long term goal. It doesn't make short-term event. Yes. The Mike Boorda's never rung more true. I think Sean you were told that would be love songs that. But not obvious love songs. Right, right. The most obvious love song. So the way you make love good were right? Obvious way. Are we doing anything I promise and over deliver? Yes. I'm saying where did you go to work? Valentine's Day, everybody and anybody jot former attorney general rob McKenna says it looks to him and he knows because he's one of bunch of lawsuits should always a lawyer. Yes, kenna. Yeah. Yes. Says it looks like Jeff Bezos has a case against Mr. pecker who runs the parent company that runs the National Enquirer who got the text message is candy is insistent that everybody recognize or not sexting messages. No. Because there's good enough. Whole thing makes me uncomfortable. And they don't want to go down the road. It's just a guy being romantic with his girlfriend. Hey, I love you alive girl. I mean, look, I'm not photos. Here's the thing. I've not seen them. I don't wanna see him. I'm just I just not comfortable. So Jeff Bezos he has a case against Mr. pecker. I think he does and extortion is sometimes treated as a synonym of blackmail. A black male is defined as gaining or attempting to gain anything of value or compelling, another person to act against such persons will buy threatened to communicate accusations or statements about any person that would subject such person to public, ridicule contempt or degradation. I mean that seems to fit here rule out spoke with Seattle's morning news. I believe so rob McKenna. I mean, he makes a good point what the inquirer said as what I've read is. Hey, bazo, you're going to say the following. You're going to one stop investigating us to you're going to say that you determined during your investigation that this was not political and three those words are gonna come out of your mouth or we're going to release the photos of you cheating on your wife. Well, not photos of cheating. Where's the dog about again? This is serious slut shaming every time. We do it. Wait. Shame her you. When you say cheating on your wife with this mistress. That's what it implies. I just have the thing about fidelity. We don't know when they hooked. He was married. He's still married. We know they were separated we can be legalistic, and you can go back and get that law degree. You can go argue that married doesn't mean married, and look what can unite different. That's okay. Here's the thing. Here's the good news. I'm not qualified anybody's judge. Professor. Preset live my life. You live yours. That's all I'm saying they did say that we were going to release these messages, and maybe these scandalous photos. So it seems like blackmail doesn't seem like black mildew. And if that were me on the other end of those pictures. Yeah. Yes. Sometimes you stand up to a bully. And this is what basis is done in my mind and basis can be plenty of bully plenty bully like, but this reveals to me. The new method aiming for folks like him who would have folded, and there's a lot of people who paid a lot of hush money somehow in this way, it feels okay? Because what they're doing the basis is so wrong. There's this new Methodist do toughness. This new I won't fold. I wanna apologize. We've talked about that like the not apologizing like the guy the governor of Virginia. He's not gonna apologize face back. Yeah. He's he's he's sort of a project, but he's not going to step down. So there's this kind of new harshness in a way. But it feels good with Basil's because it seems so sleazy what's getting done. This is a very personal sleazy tactic. And there's no other reason for them to show those photos and to talk about Asia. She. Reason like ching to show the phone right now. But that's the only reason like during your most intimate impersonal times, I'm gonna show picture of you half-naked. So I can make money off of it versus you are racist and the people in your state and the country should know. I am going to show this photo that's a different motive so everything digital changes everything because before they would mail these photos out now digital in in in in California. There's an effort the governor down there who has cancelled the Choo Choo train. You're going to be forty two billion than it was going to be seventy two billion in his last count was giving ninety seven billion. And then it was no longer high-speed rail. Gavin Newsom he calls this a tech dividend. He he wants. So here's what he's doing. I mean, it's tax on companies and the way he's selling the tax is he's calling the digital dividend. He says that these companies sell our data data about us. Therefore, we should get part of the money. Well, put a fax that's been happening for ever since data was created, right? It's happened with magazines the number of magazines, you subscribe to. Yeah. It's currency. Right. It's happened forever. So this is a tax. But what do you think about charging for your data? Well, what is it? Then I get X amount of dollars every year. You access my rewards card. So you know that I bought Nyquil. Yeah. You get you get pennies the state of California aggregates up a whole bunch of teaching. Now, interestingly, you know, they're saying this is data privacy. What they're trying to do you believe that? I mean, if you're talking about the home of Facebook and Google in these major companies that have access to our data, and they use it as currency with third party companies. You buy your should be some sort of they should be concerned about data data privacy, and they are. But do you think that this is actually about data privacy? Well, no, not to save California's gonna cut. No, it's about money. Now, who do you think sells them a whole lot of data? You got the big companies you get the credit card companies. They sell a lot of data. There's companies say the government. The government is. Yeah. They they sell moving data. They sell income data. They sell criminal data. They sell data all day long state of California's sales data, although maybe to me, it's what is considered the personal data leg, if you know what I have purchased if you know what I directly like if you're going to go back at me about this housing, the charger if you're going to go once again. Upset that. I disclose. The fact that you drive the charger with the twelve cylinder fine. I can tell it's fine. No, I can tell cause you rolling your eyes that it's not I can tell that. Once you pull your other love song because I'm gonna play mine a little later. So it's Valentine's Day sometimes day, we were talking about different types of love, and they're different types of songs. And so the song earlier for my husband was John Prien in spite of ourselves I have to tiny humans at home, both boys. And when they are eight and five now, and this is the song that honestly makes me think of them whatever I hear it. Harley quinn. Race. Oh my goodness. Shot. Get away. That is that is the number one song. I when I think of them, but the one that is the family sing-along is. Thank you. Insane clown posse or whatever the thing was. Stone singing the Batman things on come back. Esquire magazine got themselves all in trouble with the social media mob because of who they put on the cover of their magazine. "With Tracy Taylor, though, this car fire on southbound I five just south of I ninety is taking up two lanes in the lineup. Now starting outside of the U district towards that scene on top of that we had an earlier stall under the convention center that at one point was blocking the lane looks like that's cleared out of the way. I'm not sure what the deal is. But we are lined up eastbound ninety between the mount Baker tunnel and heading out to about mid Mercer island near shore. Would there is a significant break had getting out towards that four zero five inner change? But now we're starting to slow outside of Factoria and getting closer to Westlake Samantha's Parkway backups on northbound four zero five start from five twenty all the way up to the Bothell Everett highway, and that's from an earlier crash has been long since cleared. However, we're still left with a residual backup and one hundred and twenty two minutes now from Bellevue heading into Everett speaking of heading into Everett and that northbound five Dr not only slows around the west Seattle bridge into the downtown corridor. But you're once again back into the break. Lights shy of Lake City way up to Northgate some scattered slowdowns outside of Mountlake terrace. But lined up from about one twenty eighth and that continues up towards twelfth street. And I'm still looking at the camera where the tow truck in the semi that weight completely off the roadway, and it took them awhile. The fish outside of the ditch looking at backups on north on highway nine from those of you leaving zero five to four into parts of Snohomish. And of course, the south end drive is still pretty brutal from just outside of Federal Way heading out towards the Puyallup. "Tracy Taylor. It's the candy by can touch candy wrapper over there. Michael is over here. I'm Todd Herman in Kent's the city council and a lot of business owners are fighting against sound transit sound transit data Puyallup. It was set the stage for this. They would after a building that the eagles had occupied and they wanted to build a parking lot. And with the people who owned the eagles said. And a lot of people said is, hey, you own land a couple blocks from here make your parking lot. There you already own it. They didn't want to do that. They got that land. And they're still fighting the eagles have moved in all likelihood this is going to be used to park equipment and later sound transit may sell it maybe for dimes on the dollar. There are those of us who believe that in Kint for sixteen years, apparently there'd been a plan to create this retail development one of the corner stores. What am I it's not corner store? What are you trying to say? It's like shit like ships store. What's it called in a in a mall that you featured store? Anchor anchor store. Okay. So what are the anchor stores is Dick's? They did a a vote where would they go? Jasmine Donovan's executive vice president of Dick's. She was on the Saul Spady show over. Just horrified that sound transit would just ignore all those years of planning to place a night shift industrial thirty acre train yard in the middle of what's supposed to be transit oriented and omen. It is. I would really like to read a little bit more accepted trying to get some of the reports on this on why this is the secondary location is not an acceptable location. But it does seem sort of odd that it needs to go exactly here. Given the nature of what it's supposed to be doing. Yeah. And if you look at what can be done. I mean can't has some beautiful areas. And they've also wanted this retail area for sixteen years, and they finally get this anchor store of Dick's up there, which of course, is a it's a it's an iconic north west restaurant. And there is a landfill nearby. This reeks of something wrong. And I have this this this is conspiracy entirely unsupported by evidence. But Saul Spady who's of the Spady family owns Dick's fought against the head tax. And sometimes I wonder if maybe the the political muscle here gets along as his, hey, you got in our way how about if we get in yours, but there's got to be more than that. Yeah. There's more to it than that. I don't think that that is. I mean, it is not it doesn't make. I'm not suggesting that that that the best decisions are being made. But I don't think there's nothing there that indicates is retaliatory a lot of people fought against the head tax. And it wasn't really this that tipped it. We all know what tipped the head tax? You know? Yes. Specifically, mike. He comes to the dick situation down in Kent, though. Sound transit has said they have looked at this landfill site. And they said they have some concerns. That's all they said about it. They didn't vote right. It's been exceptionally vague. Right. Well, Pete Rogoff said it's gonna cost too much money to to build on top of the landfill. I would just say this and look anybody Jit. Okay. That anybody's ever heard me knows that I think this thing is a Kabul. I think San is the biggest scam in in regional government history. I would just point out that when you're willing to spend nearly a million dollars to celebrate being tenures late in two billion dollars over budget. You know on a party, probably money's not your biggest concern. So it doesn't ring true with sound transit. Secondly, what a city any people the arrange to have a beautiful retail spot in their town. Well, it's it's it's a nice resell spot. Let's let's not overstate. It's lovely retail spot. Having particularly. Dixie beautiful view, having Dixon that particular neighborhood is drawing people that retail location. That's what they wanted. So they got that. But why are we valuing a restaurant like Dicks over the warehouse? That's on the other side of one sixty seven which is one of the other sites that sound transit would take over. Yeah. Okay. Right. Right. That's that's warehouses and his valuable because why can't give fries and a milkshake just point this out. And this is this is supported by facts K, U O W, they've tracked the money of Seattle times attract the money company's developers who've launder donations to sound transit as I put it through mass transit down transportation, choices coalition, boom. They get they get a return on investment. And if you look at the land that sound transit grabbed on the Pacific highway south was used to be. I mean I worked at one. So I'm qualified to say a dumpy hotel. And now there are these major brands, but indicates you they might need help because Howard Schultz, Mike later, we're gonna talk about his. Numbers that coming up. We're going to talk about his numbers Howard Schultz who is sunk his chances of being president at this point. Is not even announcing that he's. He's not happy with the word billionaire. You know, the former CEO of Starbucks gentleman named Howard Schultz is thinking about running for president. And so far he's doing a bang-up job. He didn't interview in which case suggested that billionaires should instead be referred to from here on as people of means, which is a stupid thing to say. Great way to get regular Americans to rally around us to tell them. You get your feelings hurt when they call you a billionaire, by the way, don't tell us what the call you. When you ran a company that literally can't spell any of our names, right? Was it Jimmy Kimmel neva's chemo, though, he wasn't doing that in black face was because I know he likes to do the black face stuff. He was not okay. And I did not know that story. Sorry. No. If that's true. I don't know that story either. What about Jimmy Kimmel black face? Yeah. Oh, I can't add any more. Cents a.

This is on Meridian out near the one six seven on and off ramps. Multiple lanes are blocked for this investigation. No estimated time we're going to have the road labor open. So if you can avoid that area. I highly suggest. Doing. So we are looking at a little bit of lineup. So for those of you that are around that area. I let me try to get you out of downtown Seattle where we're still seeing some heavier traffic for those of you out on Mercer you're gonna find it from just after a Taylor out pretty much all the way up to the I five interchange.
