"Know, I spent last year and Florida, Florida again as a finalist and trying to get in and a nice it was on that ticket as well. He got it so spending time with him afterwards. And, um, just talking about The experience and our games and On how we work together, man. It was. You know, Eisenhower. We did. We didn't say we didn't say a lot. What? We understood what was expected. And we challenged each other on the day to day basis all about received way all challenge each other, but watching him do it on a day to day basis. And now seeing that he is all the payment, I'm right there behind him. Look, I consider Isaac and I want the best duos in the National Football League history. Um so to be able to, uh Go be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a book and my My Homie would be fantastic. I think, saying Louis would love it. I think l a would love it. I think the whole ramp nation will love it. And I think I think the National Football League goes that watched us play in the area in which we played, I think would appreciate uh, and respect the fact that we're both going to get a chance to be inducted into the cloak of all the things Agreed. Torry Holt joining me for a few more moments. Natori like Jared Allen always appreciate the fact that you're not afraid to hype today's players, in fact, that a conversation yesterday on a podcast with Steve Tasker and Tasker was talking about how the great bills teams of the nineties absolutely love what they're saying from the bills this year. I love guys who play the game. You can respect what you're saying right now. I'm curious. Who is some of the receivers playing today that you respect to admire that you watch. Oh, my gosh. Well, I'll start in the collegiate level. Devante Smith is incredible. The Heisman Trophy winner um.

"And maybe the one of the best catches I've ever seen was in this game. Jordan Reed, a one handed catch off the carpet. Amazing Catch one of the greatest of all time. Here we go. Nine for 12 his neck. Marvin's This third down, I'll be long, third down and 10 40 Niners on their 39 yard line. Moments back. Gets pressure throws it over the middle of his car to one and catch by Jordan Radius shy of the first down, though, what a catch that was with a reaching one hand the left hand to catch that ball. Amazing catch by read, but it will be four time coming up. There you go. Greg on the call. Jordan read with one hand catch. Guys. I don't know how you feel about this. But you know, before Dennis's time, the great Lester Hayes war, the stickum, and then that became in vogue and receivers and lots of people, you know, touched the ball would put a little put a little stick him on there. And it was like an artificial way to have better hands. Well, I almost and then they outlawed it. Okay, But now we're in an era where there's a new non natural way to have better hands And it's these gloves. I mean, some of the greatest catches I've ever seen. Are all like one handed amazing catches that have happened all in the last. Let's say, 10 years and speak and they never are guys with no gloves. It's always guys with these super tacky gloves. And it's they create one of the greatest highlights that you'll ever see catches that you could never make without the gloves. I can prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. I was was covering the Super Bowl one year and Torry Holt had those on one morning, and that's what he was promoting. That was his big thing. So you know you talked for 10 minutes ago. Wow. You have some great gloves on there for like 30 seconds. You put him on my hands and I stood there and he threw me some balls. You can you could almost not not catch the ball. It's just like right. It's like they. It's like Freddie Bulletin. A coffin a glove, you know, with all the stick of it's like if I can catch the ball point is of Viking gets the ball. Anyone could get there. I couldn't believe these things rather ridiculous. And then we're outlaws. What happens once they get kind of wet, they get even more stickier. So you know, as the game goes on, you pour water on them, and they just get sticky And that was a great and he caught that ball and he picked it off to turf. It was at the tip of the tip of the football, and he did it in stride. And then wouldn't God I I think he had a first down after you caught that ball. But it was an amazing catch. And not only that if you go back and watch that catch, I believe I'm right in this one. I believe the defender. He picks it off the carpet by a millimeter right. The defender comes flying up on his left knee. This is a guy who's had major injuries, and he lifts the foot off the ground as the knees getting contacted. I mean, come here. It's to say the NFL is treacherous. It just doesn't speak to it that we don't really get it. But I mean, it was an incredibly athletic play, too. Not just make that catch but to make that catch and then avoid a catastrophic knee injury by getting your foot up. I mean, the timing was and he was like It was like a yard attempt. The first down. I mean, it was he almost got a first down on the play was great, exactly. It wasn't the first down and you sat there going? Wow, That was incredible. Alright, we got more straight ahead. Larry Krueger, John one Dennis Brown with you. It's the red and gold wrap it away can be on the number..

"That's for sure for sure the promise keep coming back to it. The top six or seven players in the world. The warriors have to also the warriors have two to those dudes or on that six or seven in the world. Right. And then they've got another guy that's on the ten or twelve or fifteen lists. Then they got another guy that's on of twenty or twenty five list. You can't you're going to get through their starting five. And you're not out of the top thirty in the league. Yeah. But at the Lakers equipment of the Lakers acquire AD. And LeBron widow Rondo in me, and you we don't we don't. We don't fight. Maybe me maybe I can knock down to three or two I- Torry Holt seven time. Mobile wide receivers bowl winning wide receiver. He joins us more Gamal, Tori. How are ya? What a big play key Mozelle. Zanan schilling man just just getting this guy back from Atlanta today from the Super Bowl and just trying to catch give back into rhythm. They're just getting up. Old people get up at like five. I'm definitely not getting over that getting that early anything. I get up around. I do get around and say about six because my kids get up to go to school. I'm normally over them see them up to school, and then I try to do a little workout if not sometimes I get back into big a limit more rest. So you had a chance to obviously watch the Super Bowl in watch. The Rams kind of go down in fashion thirteen three against the New England Patriots. What did you make of the Rams offense? And what Bella check was able to do along with coach floor is to take him out of their game. Man. It was it was something to watch. You know, they never to me. Just watching them never really got into rhythm and never really established the run game in. And we all watched the Rams you guys about in Los Angeles. You see they they ran the ball all year. And they ran it. Really? Well, if loud they allow that offers a line and get moving to move people. And then they said they play action pass and stuff off of the run. And the run game was was. Haifa? It was it was it was non existent end. A lot of that had to do with guy and his play in Shelton. And what he was doing Hightower been noy flowers. You know, they took control of the line of scrimmage and tigr Iliad think touched the ball one time in the first quarter. And then it was like twenty one twenty two minutes in between the next touch for him. And that was an issue, and I was just sitting up they wanted to gain. Like, why is he not touching the ball? But they never got into a rhythm. They never through the ball. Got big plays down the field that was no screen game from Tigers. So that was a lot that the Rams didn't do themselves, but also credit Bill Belichick and their defense. A plan. I mentioned any Shelton who hadn't played hell Dan play all seat. I mean all month and all of a sudden he shows up in this game, and he balls out. So they took it with that run game. They put it on time girly to to beat him. And he he wasn't able to do it. Though, there was some opportunities in that game, still, okay? And draft to win. The Rams just wasn't able to make the place. Torry? Holt seven time pro bowler and Super Bowl winning wide receiver joining us here. Keyshawn LC and Travis and Tori, you know, Uber on both sides of this you one and you're on the wrong side one the Rams were a couple of days ago. How long I mean, maybe a little bit different for you..

"Potential team in the west that could be real active in free agency this summer, but neither team right now has a pathway has the kind of assets needed to do a deal for Anthony. Davis the focus for Rich, Paul his agent. And for Davis is still, you know, getting to the Lakers here in the short term. You know, the doors open elsewhere except for boss, it's opened elsewhere. But again, the pelicans or looking for assets and the assets that the clippers have the assets that the bucks books aren't giving a Jaanus. So the rest of the assets or probably not the Lakers of the players in the mix right now. The Lakers have more to offer than anybody else. And they're more aggressive than everybody else at the end of the Lakers gave away everything will be criticized. We'll people say you gave away too much. What depends depends on. What did this is a classic example of it depends on what happens next if the Lakers give away everything and the Lakers getting Anthony Davis and LeBron and go to the NBA finals win a championship. No. It's a home run. If that doesn't happen. Let's say you can never get past the way. Ears that you keep running into the wars. And you keep losing in. Brandon Ingram turns into multiple time. All-star Lonzo ball becomes Jason Kidd. Then. Yeah, you're gonna look like you blew it that that's entirely based on the result that comes after. See I don't I don't. I don't look at it that way, I look at it as what they're what they would be given up right now for a player that's established compare with LeBron who has about three or four exceptional years left any in the tank right now that you can challenge the Golden State Warriors that I agree with you. And it does the thing that you have been saying all along not only set you up for the bronze remaining time here in the NBA. It also set you up for whatever's coming after that because Anthony Davis is young guy. He's going to be one of the top five or ten players in the league for another decade at least probably Torry Holt seven time Pro Bowl Super Bowl winning wide receiver. He joins us next. I'm excited kiam excited to get to Friday. So the Lakers can have Davis, and we can stop talking about what might happen and start talking about what is going to happen because I agree with you. I think that what's in that is is going to be enough to at least make the warriors pay real close attention because we've seen we've seen LeBron with other good players. But we never seen him with a player like that. We've. Never seen him with another guy that Vick. You could honestly put ahead of LeBron. I think LeBron still the best player in the league. But there's at least a an argument to be made that Anthony Davis would be the more valuable player at that point. That's never been the case in his ever even with way. No, no. There was that weirdness between those two guys because they were trying to figure out like who's going to go tonight who's going to be the man tonight. But after after a few months, it was very clear that LeBron was far better and Dwayne Dwayne Wade's hall of Famer great player, but LeBron was a lot better than Dwayne. Will you? I guess you could say that. Yeah. And all of a sudden now you've got Anthony Davis at worst. He's what the fourth best player in the league at worst. You got LeBron? You've got Katy now we're in. See for me because the different positions in style and stuff like that. So you start saying the Brian Katie Jaanus curry, I mean, it's like look he's one of the top. He's a handful. That's just put it that way. He's a handful. That's all he's one of the he's one of six or seven of top players in the world..

"Listened growing up. It was a lot of great sports stories like Lakers Celtics Cowboys, you know, just like the guys that were just out there competing being the best beaten the best. And at some point the best has to fall. But the best always stays on top for long term. Like, I remember bird matches going back and forth. And it was just great TV. Great great for these guys. I know, and I I loved it too. But I don't I don't think that days ever coming back though. Right. I mean, don't you think 'cause it seems to me that that that you're hearing Anthony, I it's it's an obvious play to get to Los Angeles. Otherwise, why open the window now for New Orleans fans to be so pissed off about they already just apparently removed him from the video of inch for the team to be introduced the pre-game hype video for the team moved Davis from it. You know, he's hurt right now. Anyway, they took him out because they don't want him to. Be booed. The only reason to put yourself through two and a half months of being a public enemy in your hometown is to try and get out of there right now. So that's the move. And then there's an idea that Cairo would be willing to come now. Because he said that he apologized to LeBron that for not realizing the bronze style before. I mean, it looks like that's coming together. Right now, it may you know, the question of ask yourself all those pieces coming out lay. Can they still be Golden State owned thing? I agree with you. I think this thing is there. Anybody right now? No, you know, I don't even need to finish the. Well, enough awhile because Steve Kerr has plan. Unbelievable basketball like four or five a legitimate stars team. But they play store unselfish slot of team. When a lot of great time on it. But you know, one guy wants to all the ball too, much one guy wants to sheep, forty three. So I mean, he's Steve just having moved the ball is actually a excellent brand to watch. Like, I've watched many times they always play the same way and stuff curries just unbelievable Lancair d Mark. They're they're they're definitely gonna be a tough team to be. But again, when you dealing with sports, I wanna team to challenge them and to try to be able to beat them imagine like underdogs Milwaukee facing the final and beaten. That's a great sports story that we can always tell seven games though. Right. That's the issue. Again, Brady's here and his ninth Sukhpal his first all he had to do is just four quarters against nine. Yeah, right now. So does that make him to go? Oh, okay. Oh, no. No, no. Yeah. That's that's too. Besides family when you agree. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean nine and he's doing it at age forty and forty one back to back Super Bowls, and you know, as you pointed out about super teams he's done it with different running backs. If he did have Randy moss at one point. And almost went perfect. But it is just those four quarters in the same way the four quarters he came up with against Kurt and Marshall Falk and Isaac Bruce Torry Holt to to win his first same could happen for golf and everybody else this weekend. Happened for Eli twice. I mean happens. The reason why love him because he never panics when the Super Bowl was when they were playing the falcons, our sit next mug different Willie McGuinness and we sitting in the box a whole bunch of fats. And of course, they were big willy willy tax watch. This. What do you mean, you guys gonna lose watch this like he Keno Tom was about to turn on?.

"You know, I I just think that there's a there's a bunch of guys the seem still seems to be this by and Jim Plunkett, Jim Plunkett should be in about him to Super Bowl championships MVP in the Super Bowl when he beat the eagles at the end of the nineteen hundred season. He should be in there too. I always felt it was a little bit of a bias the whole Al Davis thing when it comes to the rate is all those guys in my mind. She'd be in center, it's a tough position Senate is not a ton of centers. That are in all thing, Jim Ringo is in Jim Langer is in Dwight Stevenson is in Mike Webster is in. Demonte dawson. I believe is in a missing a couple of guys. I'm sure I'm missing a cub motto as we talking about the raiders Jim always in. So there's not a ton of centers that are in. All you could certainly make a case for more. Why? I don't think there's any doubt about he was tremendous and. Was an anchor on some really good teams. How about the fact that Kevin Milwaukee was the center on the two jet teams that have one division title since the merger? How about that? Think about that. Kevin Mua nine hundred ninety eight. They wanted division in two thousand two he was the center on both of those teams. You could certainly make a case for Kevin Milwaukee being in all fame. Now just looking at the ballot here. Now, you mentioned. Go over to see a quick for a second. Ed reed. You mentioned, Shirley. He does not doubt. Ed Reed should be in the as you get an easily. Tony Gonzales says well Flora's Demisch you begin just looking at the ballot here. I think Bob is all Famer is Dave Brandi Bob is one of the great quarterbacks of all time. I think he's one of the few if not the only quarterback that has like thirty plus interceptions and thirty plus sacks. And you also want to Super Bowl with that Tampa Bay team at the end of the two thousand two season. I think is BRUCE'S all of famous great receiver, obviously with the greatest show on turf with Kurt Warner, and and Torry Holt and Marshall Faulk and all those Rams teams. The problem would wide receiver though, I always talk about is is so many guys. There's so many great wide receivers. It's it's a really saturated position. But I think is approved should begin. I'm not I'm not sold on fantasy. I dunno Torry Holt Sonya two-day probably she bought the in. I don't know if they'll get in right now. But I probably both floors is I met you. I'm not so sure about Alan I wouldn't go one hundred percent with him. Jimmy johnson. You're right. Should be in John Lynch. I think should be in great safety with Tampa Bay. You can make a case for Thai law. We mentioned Milwaukee. Just looking at the other people the other guys in it. Hines ward is a guy you could you could look at his whole family great wide receiver played on actually a couple championship teams in Pittsburgh wanted a great blocking wide receivers of all time. I would look at him. But I think he I think you hit on the guy's clearly Ed read clearly Tony Gonzalez, and they should put floor is in. He he really should be really should. All right. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six continue with the phone calls. How about Mickey in Glen head is on a fan? I Mickey how are you? H Hawaii demand omit the leg. Thank you watch y'all. Yes. When you when you refer about the old days, Joel, I'm telling you issues, I think like you..

"What do you think about? Yeah. I mean, the response. No that I'm not ready to put any. I mean what the patriots have done is. I don't think we're ever going to see that again. So I'm not ready to put anybody in that category. But you know, fascinating things that the Rams do formations and motions in when you're talking about a team that plays a lot of man to man coverage. The hardest thing to do is. When a guy goes in motion, and you snap the ball when he's behind the quarterback or he's running jet sweep and you're trying to play man to man coverage for that guy to be able to chase that guy to the other side of the field. And so with all the movements that they do how does that count her what the patriots wanted? How does that counter? If they wanna play a lot of man to man coverage. The other thing is. Now Todd Gurley has caught a lot of passes last couple years in this offense. They haven't necessarily used him in a lot of route running, but that's another area where I think the patriots are vulnerable is if they're gonna play a lot of Mandy main coverage covering backs out of the backfield. I mean Alvin Kamara had eleven catches last week. And it just seemed like they could go to him all day long that they wanted to will there be something in this game plan from Sean McVay using Todd Gurley in an adequate using Todd Gurley in the passing game in a different way stretch the field or get some matchups on a high tower or one of those linebackers that we haven't seen before. And so those are some things that I'm looking at because if asinine of how a patriots like play and how they I I can see them attacking this, Sean McVay type offense. But some of the counters that that Sean come up with you minutes left here with Kurt Warner pound the table for Isaac, Bruce whose name we might here Saturday night to join you and Kenton. I mean, all I I've been around a lot of great players. Great receivers, you know, guys like there FitzGerald that. We have first ballad guy, anquan Boldin. Torry Holt greatest route runner up ever seen play this game. You know that that starts it because I've played against in. And with a lot of great ones. But to me, the hardest thing is, you know, as you move further into this thing, the stats of our game have gotten outrageous. But when Bruce retired he was only the second receiver that had reached fifteen thousand yards in his career. I mean only him and Jerry Rice when he retired at that stage. Now, I mean, there's still only I think five guys that have done that. And so I think he's gotten overshadowed by some of these guys that were on individual teams. But what I think we have to remember is how great Isaac was before the greatest show on turf because we put everything together with the greatest show on turf, and what he gave up still being a great receiver, but had Marshall, and we had Tori, and we had we had is we had all these guys. That he had to share the ball with head that guy been on a team where he was the main guy has whole career. I think we're talking about a guy. That's right there with Jerry Rice in terms of yards, and what he accomplished I just think that gets overshadowed a little bit because it was an unselfish team where everybody got touches, but he's still ranks top fifteen in catches still ranks top five in yards. It's time to get that guy in and then you go beyond that. And I mean, I think of hall of fame, and I don't just think of numbers. I don't just think of stats I think of how you carry yourself what you meant to an organization in what you meant to the league. And there's nobody that carry themself better than Isaac. Bruce that represented this league better than him. You couple that with the stats. I think he should be a slam dunk to to be in the hall. Well, we'll find out on honors on Saturday night. And obviously we'll talk about it on game day morning on our pre-game show that starts at nine AM eastern time on clue a lot of. This Xs and os Chattan. I are you aware of the piece that I'm shooting on Saturday to air on Sunday. I am not. Okay. I'm aware..

"Ronald pause for New Orleans misery, everybody come on. Now. I saw one of those famed billboards yesterday, which is what robbed in one of those. I saw one of them yesterday. You know, if the saints had come here, they did use the Atlanta practice facility in their everything. When I shot, I'm serious like they would've I think they would have used like the flowery branch facilities here in Atlanta getting nods of agreement from our studio audience here, and that's serious business. I mean, nobody wants a rival to just see everything. I don't know if Arthur Blank's joining us at the top of the third hour. Should I ask him if if that had happened? He would he have swept for bugs. What do you actually like cleaned it out because I remember Jack Bauer comes in and. Check for bugs like what if they left here. You know, what are they? You know, you trust Sean Payton had not leave something behind. Explode. In all seriousness. I remember when we launched the NFL network. The first promotional campaign was the the dear Mr. fantasy commercial where the song dear Mr. fantasy played. And I always in various parts of the NFL world. And the tagline was being rich doesn't suck great campaign, and there were many different places where I was underneath the hood. You know, looking at play obviously a replay. And I'd turn to the referee, and I gave him a sort of look or I was with deuce McAllister of the saints looking at a beautiful watch through loop. And I was not in my head and agreement like this the perfect blink for you to buy like that one. I was at a raider at cheerleader contests. At any rate. We shot one scene where I was in the film room with falcons head coach and quarterback at the time. Dan reeves. And Michael Vick. And I shot a scene with the two of them and on the same day because you know, sometimes when you've acquired or spot, and you've you've got a close set, you try and shoot other scenes for the commercial on the same spot if you can kill couple birds with one stone at the time, we I was also firing footballs through a jugs machine at then Saint Louis Rams Tory hole at the time the Saint Louis Rams and the Atlanta Falcons were in the same division. Remember the were in the NFC west over that do some bizarre state of geography and Cowboys are still in the they were rivals. They were rivals and Torry Holt. We had a shoot the Torry Holt seen at flowery branch on a completely closed spot of green grass, and he could not. Set foot past that because the falcons did not want a ram in their building looking at their building in seeing their building. Fact that happened Tori, how to stay in some trailer. And if he had if he if he stepped one foot in an outside of the closed pin soccer's we're gonna wig out. So think about what if the saints had made the Super Bowl in their facility. Did you blow it up and just start again? I mean, what do I mean? He just built a brand new stadium. I don't know if he wants to build a new practice. And what's what's the Chick-fil-A not being open around here on game? This what the heck? What is happening? It's a southern thing out. It is I'm Jewish. Just in. Yeah. I mean, Arthur we could talk about breaking news. Okay. Let's get a news..

"Like, I was it's okay happens. All the time you had to go out with wrong head. I didn't think Steph. Curry would be an all star. Let alone a legend wrong happens. It's the percentage of times it happens when people stop listing, and maybe the inability to admit when you're wrong about things. Tom Brady's proven many people wrong. But but I was I was watching that game. And I was realizing how close they came to losing. I'm watching the post game reaction. I don't if you guys seen this this footage, but there's footage. Now, Tom Brady walking the locker room shaking hands and hugging all his teammates. And there's a lot of cursing which will bleep out. But he's hugging is. And he's going unbelievable. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Can you believe it unbelievable? Take a listen. Baby. Unbelievable, bug, man. Unbelievable. He just keeps going around. Unbelievable. You were great. Unbelievable. Do you know why was unbelievable because it was? Do you know why people said they didn't have good skill position players 'cause they don't. Rob gronkowski runs. Like Tom Brady and Tom Brady couple throws. There were more like rob gronkowski throwing the football. And and then you think of it. They started off as underdogs against the Rams. And if you have the if you're old enough, you remember the Rams were the greatest show on turf they had lit up the NFL for two years, and they had hall of famers all over the best left tackle in the league. They had a quarterback who is a perfect fit and Kurt Warner for their system. They had Marshall Faulk arguably the best running back in the history of the NFL. If you really look at Marshall Faulk visa groundbreaker in terms of Billy to run it. And then catch it out of the backfield. Hell Torry Holt should be in the hall of fame. So said Isaac Bruce by kind of go through they had everything. And if you go back to that Super Bowl, you remember that that was back when they introduced each individual player now for the back through the Saint Louis Rams Kirk Warner they announce every guy, and then it was the New England Patriots were the first team to go. None of them just say patriots. We're going out. Like, no, we want to introduce recognize each just say patriots will run out and they all come out. And it was it was an unbelievable underdog story. Tom Brady wasn't supposed to be the quarterback. Drew Bledsoe was. They hid his lack of experience. They hid some of his weaknesses, and he still had the they probably weren't supposed to be there. Why because the raiders were the better football team if not for the tuck rule. They want anyway because that's part of the lure the legacy. They'll aura that's part of the story of Tom Brady. Is that he can take his forty six and beat your forty six. And then switch at halftime. And take your Forty-six meet their forty six same thing with Bella. Check. But they've been this closed several times to the whole thing falling apart and gronk feels like he's done, and though he can be replaced that doesn't mean he's replaceable. And Brady feels like there's there's some there's some miles an hour off that fast ball. I delete eventually is going to catch you. And I just think that this is one of those if you win he can't do it. If you lose. But the thing that Hollywood tries to simulate is what sports actually has which is the happy ending it does exist. John elway. Hell paid manning. Couldn't throw a football wasn't particularly good and Super Bowl, but they won. Anyway. Because the defense was awesome special. Teams was good, and they found a way and you're right off into the sunset. Michael, Jordan, forget the wizards thing. Michael Jordan, holding the follow through in Utah. Like, these things do actually exist. And for Tom Brady who will go down as arguably, the greatest athlete. The greatest athlete does not mean greatest having the pure amount of athleticism, but greys athlete. Terms of most accomplished. Most successful. Most prolific when it matters the most or how it matters the most. Which is when the buzzer sounds does your team have more points than the other..

"It was more of a team when it was very team win. And then for the saints. You know, I think I think for the saints. The thing about Sean Payton, and drew Brees is they've been good for so long. But maybe neither gets the amount of respect that they are that they think they should get were that most people think they should get. But at the end of the day they've won one Super Bowl in. It's hard to say that they deserve more of the limelight because I mean breeze miss opportunities in that game too. It's not just Sean Payton breezes past to Michael Thomas was pretty terrible on that first down play. And he threw the ball in the dirt. Pat, multiple questionable passes. Honestly. And my final thoughts on this is just the Rams were just meant to win this game. You know, some teams like it just seems some tea some the game's going one teams favor and at the end of the day went to the Rams more than they did the saints and the Rams are the ones going to the Super Bowl for the first time since two thousand one ironically, they played this patriots last time at Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk and Isaac Bruce Torry Holt at the top of their game. So we're about a little rematch of from eighteen years ago, which is fun. It's a little funny that this is like, I don't know if anybody's talked about this. But it's kind of like the Brandin cooks revenge door he played for the saints. He beats the saints. He played for the patriots. Now his chance I've forgotten pay for the patriots. Yes. So it could be like oh that was like what for a Cup house. We would it be. If the Rams win the Super Bowl and Brandin cooks as a game where he gets MVP, and he beats both of those TV gets. You gotta game yesterday had over one hundred years. But that is the gun for the first segment the NFC championship game. Next seven. We'll be talking about the AFC championship game between the New England Patriots. And the Kansas City. Chiefs will get run on that when we return..

"I think it's true. We had the bags over their heads, Greg. And Steve are right again. That is true. They did not make any type of postseason from sixty seventy because remember Archie manning played his whole career. And that's interesting because Archie manning is the subject of the next question. Okay. Archie Peyton and he lies dad was one of the first saints quarterbacks, but his sons had much more success than he did. Because he played on mostly losing teams. Archie was never named all pro nor did he win any league awards during his time in New Orleans. Steve is at true or false. That is. False. Okay. Greg. That is true. Jay true. Mason is correct. He was the NFC's most valuable player player the year an offensive MVP in one thousand nine hundred seventy eight so we had a monster year in seventy eight but they didn't make the playoffs. Yeah. So Mason's got three. Greg set to Jay has goose eight by the way, the early part of this pointless since the last one's worth two and a half. But okay, but you're building right now. You you lead J by three. Yeah. Yeah. But everybody's always alive in these things. All right. The most successful five year stretch for a coach in Rams history. Belongs to George Allen Ellen's five year record was forty nine nineteen and four Greg is that true or false. I'm going to say false since Chuck Knox. Okay, j. Yeah. That's false St George Allen. I think did it twice. And I think the early run I think that's true. Mason is four for four. It is one hundred percent true member that second run that was a disaster. Right. And check next didn't have quite that good of a record. But forty-nine fourteen and four is it. Okay. Next one. The Rams have a total of nine retired numbers. Among those are Torry Holt Orlando pace and Isaac Bruce from the Saint Louis years. Jay true or false I'l say true Mace. I think it's false. Okay. Greg. Yeah. I think it's false. They wanted to be have nothing to no one of those wide receivers is not in. None of those guys are in rice and his five for five day. I'm playing numbers are retired. And. One of those guys is a finalist this year for the hall of fame. I don't know if it's like Broussard Torry Holt, but one of them, I think. Yeah. And I guess if you get your number your, and Greg it's not true that they wanted nothing to disable Louis both Kurt Warner and Marshall fault from the Saint Louis retired. Okay. Next one in nineteen seventy two the Baltimore Colts or owned by Carroll rosenbloom, and he traded franchises with Bob Ursa who then had the Rams. So in other words, they swapped rosenbloom had the colts say had the Rams they swapped is that true or false true. True. Jay, I'm picking him. All great. So I'm gonna go false. Jay is oh for Mason is six percents. Thing ever trading which is. Yeah, they just they swapped franchises. Okay. Two more Mace. And you have a chance to run the table excellent. In one thousand nine hundred ninety nine this saints traded every draft pick. They had for the rights to Ricky Williams out of Texas, Masons at true or false. They traded their entire draft for Ricky Williams. I'm going to say false. All right. Greg. I think it was false. They traded the first two rounds. At least you're false. Jay, I'll try to keep the streak alive. Let's go true. Jay Corrales is off the Schneider. It's one hundred percent true. They trade. Mike Ditka was running the saints. And he traded the entire draft for Ricky Williams while all right last one the nickname saints was chosen in honor of Joan of arc the maid of Orleans holds a special place of honor in New Orleans with the statue ever on Decatur street in the French quarter. Joan of arc is the patron Saint of soldiers in France Mesa's at true or false. Well, you could have just flopped out saints. For different Saint. But I'm I'm gonna say Saint Joan of arc is is the is the one L say, yes, you'll say true. Greg. I'm gonna see false J. True. Jay, you're gonna finish with one. Greg by doing Mason was a head of you six to four..

"And I picked the eagles last week against the bears. And they ended up winning that ballgame ball game in play well in the first half of that ballgame onto interceptions. But that team is battle-tested date, not overwhelmed by the moment. Born on the role by the by the weather. This team is truly battle-tested. That's why they're the defending test. So until they are not all on rock with the egos. They have is going to be going out to the big easy. All Greenspan tastic Comoro Ingram. Mike Tomlin that big number one number one. Run and another another statistical categories they're number one that so please please the Blake. But I like the eagles going in. In business against the saints. Wow. I mean, that's a bowl big. And I love the honest prediction. I don't know. I'm the guy in in craps that that's the hard ways. But you should never ever do. But I do and I love it. So I'm probably not going to go all four. I may even though I think there's a chance all four road teams could win. I may better three team a three team road team parlay because I am the guy that bets the highways and crap. So I'm willing to give my money way pretending that I'm gonna just stretch next time. This is the one owned. No that didn't go. Well. Hits. The bigger the spread the more of a line. You get the more money. You get in return, if you're right, and Ben the money line on the dog and Phillies really tempting really interesting the game that the team that I actually think I'm going to predict on Friday when you predictions tomorrow that's gonna win on the road. Although it's the one that I probably would be less the least likely to bet because of all the history is charges at New England. There's all every reason there's every reason on earth two point and say, of course, New England's gonna win that game except we were talking to few weeks ago, and it wasn't wrong of time. But the fact the chargers might be the best team in the AFC, and therefore one of the best teams NFL, they won twelve games. And I asked Torry Holt who likes chargers or involves borough patriots. This one here is I've been going back and forth with this obviously, Philip rivers state guy..

"That's not if that's when all right guy, so comment on these other guys that are also going to be inducted into the college football hall of fame. This'll be in New York City on December the tenth Terrell Buckley. Florida state, Ricky Dixon, Oklahoma, London, Fletcher, John out of John Carroll college. Jacob green had a show John Carroll county. Who's that Don Shula? Wow. That's right. There you go Torry Holt at North Carolina outstanding receiver and Aram. Of course, Brian knows all about those Rams rocket Ismael. Notably NC state NC state. Right. Torry holt. Yeah. I know NC state and North Carolina State. Maybe I did if I said North Carolina. Tell you. What are the great games? I went to get us against tickets about was convicts, first Catholic. Yeah. Rocket had one return for touch on another one for near touchdown and win the game in south bend. I was a great documentary to that convicts versus Catholics. I love that. How about my guy? Troy, Paula Malo, one of the best not the fastest. But always right place. Right time player just loved them. Joe Thomas out of Wisconsin. Which makes my wife happy. Big Joe Thomas fan, Lorenzo white outta Michigan state. Patrick Willis, great, forty Niner out of ole miss Vince, young the guy that I still see my sleep Roland right against southern. Is about that. Was the worst loss for me as a USC fan ever? Reggie Bush was on the sideline. Unbelievable. And all I said is whatever you do if you game. I know here's the thing. I was gonna ask you because Kingsbury folks for you missing is now the new head coach for the Arizona Cardinals. But broader. Rosen by bro. Brian. What was the buyout that USC? They have to set up something. I wonder that's crazy omitted too soon. USC must have pressured them. They did he was still shell-shocked. I'm surprised, you know, smart, maybe just under estimators marketability. But that model of coach to McVeigh young editor bear guys kind of like that. The packers. They went with do they go with leflore. Yes. So it's the same kind of mold of the hot flavor of the type of coach that can Brian. That's going to be the model going forward to. I mean, not invest not going to be the exception. It's going to be the rule. You know what? Brian. I was watching you watch all these teams go up and down the field and do all this stuff. What irks me even Alabama? Great a program as they are and Mike Loxley their offensive coordinator. I do not understand when these teams get to one one and a half yard line. How they do not go under center to handle. Well, how can you not practice that go to Maryland? I just don't get it. How do you not practice that? So instead, you're taking a shotgun snap by the time. You hand off. I watched Damian Harris get the ball on first and goal from the half yard line at the five yard line. Go through to people penetrating ridiculous. Three hours in the back. Are you probably weren't shocked about the win? Although you don't want. But weren't you shocked about how they played that was out of bicycle? Yeah. We talked about that. Yeah. I love Dabo. And I think he's a great coach. And I think when you put I think Alabama got Al coach outplayed, and I think they had more of a purpose. They'd had a will to win Clemson. And they you could just tell and how they played in Alabama had a few bad breaks here and there, but also the Alabama coordinators are not as experienced they've lost too many jacket. Right. A lot of turnover in the co. I mean, how about the best player on Clemson? The receivers of number one player Alabama. Alabama's it says it was the turnover near assistance. That's exactly which was there which is going to be a factor going forward. Brian everybody thinks nobody seems to leave Clemson. No and head coach has been offered. Some are the D coordinator some job he has been. He's got a son. Two million a year. Love dabo. Everybody loves it there. I mean, and you could see why. Well, and. The players seemed like they were having more fun. They were. Now Lawrence is not bad either. No, I mean, sunshine, six foot, six sunshine. DJ gets there. Throws. I mean till DJ loves Clemson world go, but the Clemson they got going. They got great facilities, Jim, which you know, is an athletic is one of the most important things for getting the kids. I've known, Dan. Forever. Brian the he's done really a good job of providing dabble with everything you need. And I do mean everything. And so you're. One of the highest assistant pools, which he can pay those guys. They don't leave. No, it was her nature when you're winning. You're happy your family's happy an.

"So games today. Two games. Tomorrow a big week in the National Football League. And honestly, not a dog game in the bunch. Now. There's going to be a blog we understand that always happens. Again, you think's going to be a great game great match up. But on paper least, these are all four very interesting games. And before we even get to that. We were we were talking a little bit here in the Greg see Kerry at a really good career. But he didn't get some of the recognition some of his peers did you played safety. And we were talking about your contemporaries like, Ed re and Troy, Paula Malu. John Lynch, some of these guys under Bob Sanders that are getting all this recognition. And I know a lot of people look at Pro Bowl. You have to understand how Pro Bowl has really changed. There's what I call legit Pro Bowl. And then there's what I call fake Pro Bowl. So every year when they announced the Pro Bowl teams and look at a lot of guys that make the proble make it on reputation more what they did that. Yeah, I get that. Right. But if your name to the original Pro Bowl roster that to me is Pro Bowl, right? Then what they do is. They're never announced publicly some some teams do some teams don't but the alternate. So when you played in the NFL Kerry, they would sit down and tell you. Okay, Ribas made the Pro Bowl Kerry your first alternate or second alternate to have Pro Bowl. Yep. So but in recent years when they move the Pro Bowl to the week before the Super Bowl in the old days. You might have had four or five guys that were alternates. Get him because of an injury, right. Right. But now there's like twenty five guys guy. Everyone's backing out of the Pro Bowl all these alternates. Second third alternates are getting Pro Bowl status. Exactly. Giving example Torry Holt. Yep. Who do not make past the semifinals? A lot has to do with his teammate Isaac, Bruce who was a finalist once again. So you look at Torry Holt says seven pro bowls that's a big number for wide receiver. Yep. He actually was only named the three pro bowls. He got into the Pro Bowl four times as an alternate was a big difference between three pro bowls absolutely and seven up to throw balls. Yeah. So how did you look at it? As a player as a player. Obviously, there's things where you know, pro bowls kick in certain things. And also at that time when I was playing in may, it it said who the elite guys were like if you're a pro Pro Bowl guy like people were recognized you as that elite person. And when you don't get that is sometimes leaves you out of the comes, right? Even though you're just as good or whatever the case may be as for your team. Yeah. I mean at that time, obviously, you you want it. There was a big thing. Like you wanted to make the Pro Bowl absolutely wants to be recognized by your peers as that player as that guy. So I mean, obviously, it was a big thing for us at the time. And we talk about it like my time when I was planning with me. It was Ed read it was with Bob Sanders and even my second when I was an alternate. Again. John made me he was at the tail end up his career. He was getting enough reputation ready is like this is not going to happen. So you get to a point you realize they're right away that obviously your teammates, they respect you as a player that you are and what you show them on a consistent basis. But sometimes you may not get the love outside of outside the locker room outside of your circle. So you just have to deal with it. But obviously you want that recognition as a player. Well, when we talk about all these accolades, it's all subjective, folks. Whether it's Pro Bowl All-Pro hall of fame, whatever it is. It's subjective. In one person. Sees one thing another person sees another thing. Right. So there's no exact science. There are certain elites and we're talking about Ed re. Read who is so far above the bar. There's not a doubt same thing with Tony Gonzalez. Right. You know as a tight end. I mean, you know, that there are certain guys like that there. There are no brainers Tom Brady stuff like that. But a lot of the other guys, you know, fly under the radar. Harry was one of those guys. And I'm sure at the peak of your career you were every bit as good as guys that were getting all this kind of recognition. Absolutely, man. That's like I said, it's it's all great. I mean, it's all relative in in. When people really recognize you for who you are you, you know, you know, how I played if the player, I think you you respect my game. But it's more about like what about your peers and your teammates and guys like that that really that really push you over the hump and make you feel good about will the other problem for you was yet Rivas. Yeah. Who is sucking all the air out of the room. I mean, he was no fault on the fact that he was getting so much recognition as the elite corner in the league that it's distracted from the rest of the secondary us get back to the games right now, we talked earlier about the colts Houston game, by the way. Kerry, one of the few people that likes Houston that game. But I want to go to the game tonight between the Seahawks and the Cowboys. And I think the NFC is a very interesting dynamic. So the six teams that made the playoffs. Three of them are led by quarterbacks who have won a Super Bowl. Yep. Drew Brees Russell Wilson, and Nick foles and Nick foles now I'm gonna go back again to the old school days. And yes, I do reminisce about my raider days every once in a while. But I do know this when I joined the raiders in nineteen Eighty-four they're coming off their Super Bowl win. And Jim Plunkett is at the end of his career, but he's won two Super Bowls. And they have. Young quarterback named Mark Wilson at BYU who could throw a much better pass and everything else Plunkett was just sort of like, you know, herky-jerky, and it didn't look pretty out there. But I do know this that when he was in that huddle. Everybody just played a little bit harder. The lime blocked a little harder receivers worked harder running backs work harder. Because they look at that guy. And they say he knows what it takes. He's been to the pinnacle. Right. He's been to the top of the mountain. So how much of it is a factor for drew Brees? Let's let's let's get to Russell Wilson tonight. His experience having been there. I mean, the guy should have won back to back Super Bowls. And by the way, the second one was his fault. She'd never thrown that pass should never thrown that pass. I know even if the play was called in your the quarterback, no bad call. We're not gonna do that. We're going to give beast bowl the ball, and we're gonna win this game. But that aside how much does that factor in having a Super Bowl winning quarterback in that huddle for the Seahawks? Hope I the solids listening to you talk about your raiders in. Yes. And the music in the background like that very epic very happy that is old school right there. But no, I mean Russell Russell Wilson. He's he's the guy we know can win. He's done. It haven't him in your, you know, he's going to go out and give you a chance to win the game. The only problem with with them and their team in going into the Dallas to play to play the Cowboys tonight. Overall. I don't think you have he has enough to get it done. But like you said, I mean when you come as you come into a playoff setting everybody believes they have a chance to win a game and everybody really comes into that into that new season with resume zero. We can beat anybody. We have a guy in Russell Wilson. That's really good has done it before. So obviously, you're going to have confidence in him and being able to get the job done. But the as a as a a person outside of that and looking at the looking at the game and making picks on the game. I I definitely think the Cowboys will win this game. But if Russell Russell has this remarkable, it's. Game. And they come back, and they win it. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised because he's that good. Well, let's interesting to me about all four teams playing today. Pulse. Start one in five. Houston was what Owen Owen three to start the year Seattle started badly. Look like they were team whose time had come and gone and Dallas was floundering until they got the Amari Cooper trade and turn things around. So all four of these teams at some point this year. Look like a team that was certainly not destined for the play offs. And this is why these are such interesting games today. The Dallas Cowboys over the last twenty one seasons have won two playoff games. America's so called team has won. Two playoff games. Total in the last twenty one years. Now, I'm not good. They are completely irrelevant. They have been for a long time in terms of championship discussion. Yep. Do you see anything different this year? Then they're not they're not in the discussion right now. That's what was on a as Alex Alex about a little bit early. I mean, this will the season they had right now already constitutes being a great year for them. Like, what's the feeling around the team with that? Do they think they have a chance to actually like I said most everything that comes in believe they have a chance in the playoffs. Yes. But inside their brass like would they really believe that this is a failure? If they don't win tonight or when a couple of games in the playoffs to make a move who knows? But I do want to talk about like all the teams that are in right now. Yeah, they've all face adversity at some point that makes it fun that makes it exciting. You know that even get down in the game. They're not gonna they're not gonna wither. They're not gonna fall away the. There's a little bit of the chip on the shoulder for allies teams right now. Just trying to prove like, hey, we belong. Yep. So again, just the four teams today. Pulse. Texans. Seahawks and Cowboys at some point this year. We were writing him off. We're writing their obituary for twenty eighteen and yet here they are. I mean, it's a new season. Yes. I mean, you were on one of the unique teams the Onen jets. Yep. This was a team that nobody nobody had on the radar. Right. He had a rookie quarterback. You know, you're playing the Bengals right out of the box yet the win. There you go to San Diego to play a team that won eleven straight games. Pull that upset. I mean, you were one game away from the Super Bowl one game away. So you're just talking about the mindset of these teams, what was your mindset on that? Oh, nine jets team. Well, we we just happened to be there. Or did you really think you had a chance? That's a funny thing about that season. It was weird season. But we actually started out that season. I think we were foreign no we can't we we came out of the blocks really strong. Then we we hit a in the mid point of the season. He'll like a little lull. And we ended up being around six. Seven. We had the win our last three games just to get in. And so we want to three games we got hot. And we felt that like I say once we got in the in in the big dance we had a chance to win it. And we were really really competent number one defense in the league that year. So we believe that we can get it done you rookie quarterback as well. As long as as long as I q be didn't throw the ball away or turn the ball over. We're going to have a chance to win. So you guys started three and six out of seven. But then you ended up winning five year lasts six. Yep. So was it was one of those. It was it was very up and down very topsy turvy weird year. And like I said we knew like defensively we could play with anybody in the week. It does have Mark command. And and manage the game and run the ball the way we could we have a chance to win. You guys are up at halftime against the call always on. What was that locker room at halftime Europe? Seventeen thirteen you're at the thirty minutes away from SuperBowl. What was wreck saying what you know? What's funny? He was actually mad at the time because we were up seventeen we were up seventeen to seventeen six you were up seventeen is six seventy six and they scored a touchdown. Calling were you anywhere near Austin collie? No. Of course, not. No, no, no. I was probably on foulland up guys did not score in the second half. So you're saying, okay. What happened? We had a chance. But I'll tell you what Peyton Manning came unthinking happened. It was very hard to stop him. I mean, they didn't score. I mean, they didn't score a lot of points. What it was just it was enough. He did enough to win. And we it hurt because we really thought we had them. We knew we had beat them. And game. Fifteen played them. Yeah. We knew we could get it done and plow the not get dial with. I mean is there any worse lost in the conference championship game? When you see everyone always talks about the Super Bowl loss. At least you were there were there. You have some sort of like the NCAA basketball tournament losing the final four. No, no, no. It's the car. It's the it's the regional champion the lead eight because you've invested a lot you've already won several games. Absolutely. And you're there, you're just you're right there. That championship game has got to be brutal. It hurt it hurt. It really it really did. Like, you like you said we will be the wildest of the wildcard we played a lot of games to get there. And to get to that point..
