"Columbus here and wanted to a would be lover. Geniuses are tortured, and they express themselves their torture in different ways. You know what? As Jason Court out, point out, it was van Gogh with here, Jason. I'm not an artist, So I'm going to get that stuff wrong. I'm not highfalutin. I went there. I went for Picasso, Van Gogh. You're cut off my ear, letting in the art world down its writer than you on CBS Sports radio are welcome back into the show. Bill Ryder with you Here live from Phoenix Suns up one. Oh, and that NBA final series. There's an old joke of sportswriters at the team that you want to win is the team that wins Game one, so you can just go home earlier. And I've normally over the years felt that way. I mean, it's a very first world spoiled get to go to sporting events for a living kind of a thing, but that's always been the reality. Season gets over identification earlier you done with work sooner. Most N B A media members worked pretty nonstop in the NBA season and get a little downtime once the finals are really free agents here over See your family all that good stuff. Not this time it maybe in three or four days I'll feel differently. I'm all about this thing going six or seven. I kind of prefer six. Gonna be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a wedding anyway, a few days after this series ends. I didn't realize I suppose I knew but hadn't felt it like I did yesterday. How much I missed. Being At a sporting event at a game that really matters going to the Dodgers game a month ago that I went to with the body was fun. It was cool, and that was when it was still restricted number of people that were there went to some Lakers playoffs games. That was that was was nice. It was it was fine. The energy was really low key again, not not full arenas. When I went But to walk into that arena in downtown Phoenix. Full of people. Seen colleagues and friends for the first time. On an NBA sends on that level because it's like a reunion the NBA Finals in two years. There's WILBON. There's Isaiah Thomas. There's Jeff's ill get It was really cool. It did it felt Like normal life. It felt to me as much like a return. As when I got to take my kids to a physical school for the first time this year, the first time I got to go sit inside a restaurant and hang out. First time I got an airplane. Post pandemic. It was awesome. It was awesome. And those Phoenix fans, man, they're ready. I know it'll be the same thing in Milwaukee. I got it. I hear you. I hear you, Wisconsin fear the deer. I get it. I've seen you. I'm looking forward to getting Milwaukee to see the vibe. Man, That is, the other thing is that you have you have these markets? You have these fan bases, and I'm not saying Patriots Mans or Red Sox fans or Warriors fans now, or Dodgers fans don't love when their teams win. But to be in a place like Phoenix that has gone through this kind of a drought. It hasn't celebrated. Championship. They have one in the last 41 years. It's cool. Felt right. It felt good. 109 degrees when I landed That came straight from from L. A filled in for Jim Rome yesterday flew straight to Phoenix, literally straight to the airport onto the airplane land in Phoenix straight to the arena. 109 I walked off that plane like you do right that That little moment before you get into the terminal, Little Jet Bridge. You can feel the heat and as you'd imagine, 109 suppressive. And I just assumed that the streets of Phoenix will be fairly empty. It's the Surface of the sun. People will be inside and Already at what? Four in the afternoon local time. The streets are full man. People were out there celebrating having fun. Feeling that joy. Really, really nice to be back to what feels a little bit a little bit. Like real life. And like getting back to it. The way it was supposed to be. Can't even imagine. Can't even imagine what walk is going to be like. Now that Yanez is playing Yeah, Just look good. Little rusty and get and and maybe I've just misses because because the viewing experience is different on television. But those sons vans Counting Yannis his free throw Counting down the seconds as Yannis takes a moment. For free throws. And getting to 12 or 13. Was awesome Credit, you guys Valley of the sun and got his head. He's not good for the shooter already. But being there, man, it was awkward. Little little awkward just as a as a guy as a media member watching what he was doing. Man that was a That was an incredible, incredible game. All right Before we, uh we get to Mr Bogus Get an update Get to MLB power rankings. I just want to slip in a little bit of NFL talk, and I want to be a little self loathing. I don't know why NFL on CBS tweeted this out today. I don't know. I did not know this snap, but it speaks to two realities for me. My NFL fandom. One. Reality is not a chief's fan, per se. I can't claim that I can't but I lived in Kansas City for a long time My kids were born there. I worked at the Cayenne City star and I got to know Clark Kant and some of the folks in the Chief Chiefs organization, so I I love the fan base. Even if I can't claim any real affinity with the cancer, the Chiefs. And my the late and great Torres paler. My good friend who passed away this year was prescient. And and just on point. When, a few years ago, he called Patrick moms. He not me. He 100% Former can see Star reporter and former Yahoo National NFL. Writer and columnist, Cold homes and so he was so certain about it. We'd have them on the show that we I have no doubt in my mind. This was the first national radio show our sports program anywhere. To talk about Mahomes accurately and what he was going to become, because we did it when he saw back up to Alex Smith and Alex Smith was what, four or five and Oh, all those years ago. So I've got. I've got some affection for Patrick moms, and I've got a little bit of affection. For that organization. But I'm also I'm also a bears fan. I hate I hate the bears. I hate myself for being a bears fan. I hate J color with a burning passion. And all that came together in this, uh NFL on CBS. Fun fact I'm going to read it to you. Games with four passing touchdowns. Patrick Moms in his career has 11. When Patrick Mahomes very, very brief. Although remarkable career in the National Football League He has 11 games. In which he has completed at least four passing touchdowns. In the last 50 years, 50 the last 50 years. The Bears have 10. They have one last I hate the Chicago Bears. I wish I were achieved, and that is Remarkable. I would rather talk about that. Then talk about Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady on some golf course. Does anybody actually care?.

"Radio Preceding the Jim Rome Show. He had lost a friend recently Yahoo Sports NFL writer to raise paler had passed away. And Bill writer had become very close with Torres. In fact, ID introduced to rise to his wife, dressed paler was only 37 years old when he passed away here was some of Bill's thoughts, a very poignant rememberance of his friend. I could talk to you all day about his excellence. As a reporter of the stories. He broke his Nostradamus prediction on this show that Patrick Mahomes was gonna be Patrick Holmes. The fact that he rose overnight tipped to be in the go to guy for Jim Rome, who I was just told honored Trez for an hour yesterday Got I love Jim Rome is a guy. What a great dude. So the sports writer that he was amazing and the reflection of what sports are at their best. Because this guy is the things I talk about in praise, but I could never be. There was one address as a talent as a as a as a football mind as a guy that just grind it. What's amazing about him? This isn't always true is the person that he was? This is the best person I know. This is the best human being that I know. He really was. You may be outside of my father along my father. The best And the cheese put out a statement on their morning yesterday two years ago, and the Saints put out a statement and you read these tributes. Promise you it's all real. Was Bill writer Pretty powerful stuff yesterday on CBS Sports Radio. So I was thinking. We've lost a really good people in sports media recently, we did our tribute to Sekou Smith. Couple weeks ago. Sekou was long time NBA writer ultimately had been working at MBA TV in NBA dot com and he had joined us so many times throughout the years talking MBA. In baseball. We just lost Pedro Gomez. And Pedro was one of most respected voices in sports and baseball as well. And then Torres paler who I did not know personally but enjoyed his work very much and It only heard really great things about him as both a writer and as a person and as you saw the outpouring of tributes to to rise over the last couple of days. Realized as Bill had mentioned there. Jim Jim Rome did Quite a bit on him, and many other places memorialized him that he was an amazing guy. I bring this up for a couple of reasons. Number one is just hard to lose people that are so young, tres paler was 37. Sekou Smith was 48. And Pedro Gomez was 58 all well before their time. Hard to lose. People so young but also hard to lose really good people. Hard to lose really good people. All three of those guys. Not a bad word. Anybody could say about them in the business. Now, as you might imagine, This is a cutthroat, hyper competitive business where there's a lot of jealousy, a lot of envy a lot of ego. There is often times a lot of back biting and backstabbing and back and forth on social media or back channels would have you and those three guys never had that. Because all three of them or defined by Doing it the right way. They all had that background of hard core journalism. All three of them newspaper reporters first and foremost. In those locker rooms, making those phone calls building those relationships building that trust That's quite a skill set. All three of those guys had that. And I admire that quite a bit. Because I never Came through the newspaper ranks to wear You get paid nothing, but you have to make something out of those relationships and those sources and being in that locked room every single day. By it, but I admired it so much that I made sure I committed myself to doing much of the same and being in locker rooms and talking to guys and understanding the dynamics and Internally so that I wasn't just the outside throwing grenades. You know when you do this job and you behind a microphone, and there's no accountability because you don't see those guys every single day you pull the pin. You throw the grenade every single day. And what what does it matter? Those guys were there. Those men and women that work in those locker rooms are there and they have to be accountable, and that's why I have so much respect for the way that they do it and they have done it. And so to lose those three people to raise paler and Pedro Gomez and Sekou Smith is a real blow to the industry because we need more people like that of the industry that do it like that. But also well they should be recognized for doing it the right way and being above the fray. I want to also remind you there is a culture now of hating the media. And I don't take it personally, because It's just not It's not a personal thing for me, but I'm part of the media. And I have a number of friends of the media that also don't take it personally as well. It's just part of the culture hate the media, and I understand why, In some cases, you know somebody like me that comes on the radio and might feel or sound to you to be really Self assured cock. Sure, arrogant, egotistical because I'm defiant in my takes, or I'm making fun of somebody that you root for, or I'm tearing down a team that you like, or what have you I understand That can twist a lot of people the wrong way. And look, that's what this job entails. And that's what my personality sometimes is. It's not that I try to be disrespectful, but I'm very animated in some of my opinions, and it might come off that way. But I want you to try to separate The opinion ists like myself. The people that you see spew hot takes on TV. From the journalists. Because I think we all get lumped together, and that's not fair. Curt Schilling didn't get into the Hall of Fame this year, and one of the main reasons is he once re tweeted a picture of a guy wearing a T shirt that said, Rope tree. Journalist. Some assembly required. Curt Schilling Retweeted this and said, OK, so much awesome here. Context is obvious. Lynch, the journalists, rope tree journalist and I get it..

"So once again, it's gonna be tough to get through other than the what should be of segment which is coming up in 10 21 20 eastern time. So you should call in the first half the program again. 18006368686. I want to finish the thought that I started last segment. And again, it feels like I'm having to say this a whole lot recently, but Yesterday, the sports world did receive some incredibly sad news. Torres paler passed away and he was just 37. I found out about that after the program, and I was in utter shock. I still mean complete shock because it's simply does not make sense. I can't fathom it. I can't get my head around it every read. His fiancee released a statement, which read quote while we are shocked and saddened by Torres paler, sudden passing We also celebrate his extraordinary life that touched so many to rez was an exceptional journalist whose passion for football made him a respected voice. His legacy will leave and enduring impact on sports journalism, the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans more important. Torres was a devoted son, grandson, brother and adoring fiance and a wonderful friend of so many to know him was to love him. He will be dearly missed. End of quote. That is the truth. That is the absolute truth. To know him was to love him just to talk to him. Was to love him. If you've listened to this program over the past few years, you have heard to rest. And if you've heard Torres, you've heard his love his passion, his fire, his enthusiasm for football and for life. And it was so infectious. First of all, I'd read him for a while before we actually had our first conversation because you had to read him if you wanted to know about football to rez was required reading. Because he would grind tape. He breakdown games in ways that really know the writer would This morning. I was listening back to you some the moments from our conversations, and it's It's really painful, and it really hurts and I want to play some of these clips in a moment. But before I do that, I want to read a couple of things from some other people that knew him even better. For instance, this is from Candace Buckner off the Washington Post. She worked with your eyes that you can't City star and she started off by making the point that nobody nobody worked harder than Torres quote me into rise were part of a tight knit group off coverage. Porters at the Kansas City Star. We covered perhaps, and after a while covering, perhaps can suck. Straight up. Suck, but not for Torres. This dude treated Smithville High is, though he was covering the New England Patriots end quote. You could tell from talking to him. You knew that's the way he was. You could tell the passion and the professionalism he had. She also shared another side, though, quote we talked about God. About how he rediscovered his spiritual side about how he want to get married in Pasadena. He loves Southern California. What type of dad he was going to be and quote Charles Robinson, another good friend of this program and a very, very close friend of to rise, of course. Was his podcast co host. He wrote a piece with the title quote. I've got your back here is what it meant to work alongside Torres paler. It's worth reading the entire thing. But here a couple of special moments, quote His loyalty was unmatched. Once at an event to resin. I attended a £350 former NFL defensive tackles saw me and declared his intention to kick my ass over a story I had written. I've got your back to rest said looking up at me. I was standing with Torres in a green room, trying to figure out what I was going to do. Suddenly, Torres was stripping off his suit jacket like we were in a scene from Fight Club. End quote. Time and time again. I've seen friends and colleagues of Torres talk about that loyalty about how they always knew that he had their backs and I can feel that as well. To resin started coming on this show in recent years, and from the very first time he was on, I felt like I already known him for a long time, and that's in part because he knew this show so well. Take this moment from his very first time on this program. He is a co host of the Yahoo sports NFL podcast. He is Torres paler to raise. Good to have you on. How are you? I'm great, Jim. Thanks for the vine man. I grew up listening to you. As a teenager in Detroit. You actually want to read that decide to get a sports media man's with the honor of being the jungle and I'm pumped to be here. So that was the very first thing that he ever said to me, And I just feel that energy and that connection right from the very jump when I love the guy right away. And then there was this moment from another appearance on the show. And so it's good to have you on the show. Jim. Thanks for the Von. You know what, Mr For a long time. Appreciate it. Appreciate you two. Thank you so much Like every single time he came on the program. He would also reach out after the program. To say how much it meant to him to be on the program, and the feeling was mutual in meant so much to me to get to talk to him. He had sent a new head shot to make sure that we got his very best look for TV. This is what I'm talking about. This is the kind of pro that this guy wasps Who does that? He sent a new head shot because he knew we were TV simulcast like he got the show. He really really did. If you don't believe me, check this sign off from last January, 2 reds paler back in the jungle. It's red's my man. Great job really appreciate you. Thanks, Jim. You know I'm a Detroit guy, which means I love Isiah Thomas and.

Anything's paints. He's being changed to the 30. He breaks a tackle from a security dollars 20 down the middle. The 10, the five he slides of the one and they converge on them at the goal line. Pull up your pants. Take off the brawn. Be a man. He's Super Bowl streaker has been I deed because, of course he has. You don't do that kind of thing. If you do not want people knowing who you are, in fact this idiot who's not going to get the government here. Went on wild 94 1 in the bay yesterday and started plugging a website and running his gap about all the money he made that night betting on himself. Okay, So I'm hearing you place the bet and won a lot of money. How much was it about $370,000. Once we came up with this idea to do this, I called one of my friends and he goes. I wonder if there's a profit for that. So we start searching up Avada and bravado prenup That was plus 7 50 for fan to run onto the field, so I immediately Are you calling every single person I know and asked him to set up an account with Nevada and places and places that for me So those dudes out here saying that he won nearly 400 ger betting on himself to run onto the field. What a truly great one. Remember the jungle family in a very, very good friend of this program. You may have seen the story yesterday. I mean, absolutely shocking. I literally cannot even get my head around it. But Torres paler passed away. Amazing guy, an amazing journal such a good friend of the program. He was just 37. Have lots of thoughts on him. And who he was what he represented what he meant to the show. One amazing guy he was and I really am stunned and shocked, But I have thoughts on it. And I won't talk about that, too. And I would do that sooner than later. 1 806 368686, So I am back loading the program. Their interviews and what your beef and more And I wanna take a break right now, before I do so, though I want to read this, Romi I am so very sorry for the loss of Torres Ah guy who truly not only lived out his dream but changed the face of his profession. Please, Jim, Cherish each and every day you're living not only your dream. But the dream of many others. Sincerely, Andrew Again. I have lots of thoughts on to Ra's. He man had such an unbelievably infectious passion and enthusiasm, not only for the profession And for the grind and for the work, but for life I mean, this guy. He was awesome. And I really am absolutely stunned. I mean, he had tweeted when I saw that story yesterday, he tweeted only 19 hours earlier. It is so tragic and so eerie. I really cannot get my head around it. But I'm so thankful that I knew him died a relationship with him that I became friends with him and he became such a good friend of this program. And I absolutely will talk about that and share my thoughts. The NBA All Star game, not the best idea ever. In fact, some of the players were saying So. It's all of that coming up. If you know what you want to talk about, Go ahead and.

"It's always good to catch up with you. Thank you so much for a few minutes. Mary Kay. Oh, sure. My pleasure. Any thanks a lot. Good to hear from Mary Kay about Marty Schottenheimer and the impact on Cleveland and thinking back to those hey, days as she called them, and I remember growing up in what I grew up in New Hampshire of my grand parents lived in the Youngstown, Ohio area, which is halfway between Pittsburgh and Cleveland, and their neighborhood was decorated with either Black and gold or with brown and orange, and those were days by earliest memories of ball in the NFL. Really when People were proud to be Browns fans on guy. I think that you can certainly sense that feel that see that returning now under Kevin's defense key and can it be extended? Can they now put together some consecutive years of winning records and playoffs and make it a tradition as opposed to an aberration and and also mentioned and talked to Mary Kay about the Hall of Fame selection process? Which reminds me that Torres paler Who was a Hall of Fame selector himself covered the NFL for Yahoo Sports and Long time reporter for the Kansas City Star who covered the chief's. He passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. And in light of Sekou Smith and and baseball's Pedro Gomez and now to rest paler in our industry has taken such a hit, and my heart is so sad for their families, their friends, their loved ones, and so thinking about them and about our business and the losses that we've taken.

"Back to the last segment of Tiki and Tierney here on CBS Sports Radio. We're gonna do the blast here in a second, but sad news today. Marty Schottenheimer, head coach of the Sandy or Yeah, then San Diego Chargers, but also the Kansas City Chiefs. He passed away of all timers of 77 years old. He is a legend and should be in the Hall of Fame is one of five coaches with 200 or more wins. He's right at 200. Now I never won a Super Bowl championship, but Lots and lots of success in the postseason, regular season and postseason and also coach. Some of the greats are head coaches under him. There were some of the greats. His tree is amazing, including Bruce Arians, who was a running back coach with him in the late eighties and nineties. And Bill Cower. Also Tony Dungy, so rest in peace to Marty Schottenheimer has a name. Who, when I was growing up, was that coach who always always had his teams in the postseason and had some amazing players Christian, according to Is one that comes to mind back in those early Chiefs days. So may he rest in peace. We also saw this and this is we just saw this in the brakes just said Torres. Paler, who was an NFL writer has been covering The NFL for a long time. Now he's only 37 years old, but 2018 he was he joined the Yahoo sports and he's a Hall of Fame voter. He just passed away. No cause has been given yet. We don't want to speculate, but it's kind of I mean, it just said he's 37 years old just is on the heels of Of, um uh, our buddy last week who passed away? A swell Sekou Smith for the MBA, and I mean it is this'd It's just It's such a sad time Pedro Gomez yesterday. 58 years old way too young so Rest in peace to his plate. Paler he keep covered the Chiefs to for a long time he was a beat writer for them sad news. It's never easy transition of bto, he says. But Had to pay them their respects. Think really great, important men for the games that we love and watch and unfortunately gone way too soon. All right, we have the blast coming up D cell. "Help navigate the home loan process Rocket can I've been talking about trust paler all week because he's awesome. Amazingly talented God, he's such a talented guy is such a good guy. He is the national NFL Writer Guru column This podcaster all of it for Yahoo sports, and we work together the cancer the Star a place It's produced a ton of talent like I had a dream about an editor we shared We could go, which is very weird. I haven't dreamt about that guy in years, which really is connected to nothing. Anyway. Torres is here, Mr Paler. What's up, buddy? Bill, my man was going on. You know, just living that l a dream Dude, I love the time into this. You just dropped a story at Yahoo and for folks to find a lot of ways to do it question. Go to Yahoo Sports or just followed President on Twitter at Torres Paler Torres, the headline The sort of Cliff notes here is that in a very polarizing 2020 you report that the chief's locker room found a way to navigate that in a way, the lot of friendships and a lot of human beings in a lot of enterprises around the country, certainly did not. What? What did you discover? Well, I mean, look, I think Being around the team for a while. Definitely helped here, so you know, I know Andy Reid is has always stressed, like letting players be themselves, letting them kind of, you know, express themselves and then you know. Into the horror that George Floyd, um death. I think I think there are a lot of players. We had a lot of things on their mind, and they really worked hard. The team wanted to make sure they had space to talk their feelings out while still getting work done. That's what people get paid for. But you know, the defensive staff meetings on day took time out of that every day for a while this summer, so like players to talk about their feelings about that and express their own personal experiences, and you know, they tried to make it a judgment free zone, right and We know 2020 was was It was a difficult year and a lot of respects. People simply disagreed on very significant things. So you know, and you re like to say, you know the locker rooms, just a microcosm of society. You can imagine that that applies to a locker room, too. But Given the fact you know, most football kingdoms like they do keep it about football. Um That the nature of the game tens of lend itself to different like viewpoints and ideas, but also being able to put that stuff aside. Because your your health and well being realizing the next guy, no matter what they believe. You know what I mean? So, yeah, you could assume there was some disagreement about politics and other stuff that happened, but at the end of the day I can't let that stuff get in the way of of what the common goal is, and that's what the story was about, Um And honestly, honestly, Bill it was you know me asking these players this and them kind of being happy to talk about it and Being overly, um Overly complimentary of the culture the team built that made me comfortable going with it right. Like, you know, these teams get up in front of presser they get in their oppressors, and players never want to see anything inflammatory. But they didn't have to be his complimentary about it. If they had to be was let me know there's really something to it. Yeah, It's a great priest. Piece of work from from terrestrials paler here on this show, and Torres tweeted out with the hashtag Common ground, which Hey, man, I we need as much of that, as we can get and new wants and reporting an insight from the best in the business is promise it is. It is worth your time tries. I was thinking about this. In fact, we started the show with this a now hour ago how the true all time greats redefined how we view greatness right for Montana And for Jordan. They were perfect in their championship quest, and that became the standard. And it's different now with Tom Brady. I would argue and and LeBron James, How do you What is the potential to your mind's eye? And I know that that Mahomes has to stay healthy for this question to be relevant, and there's a long ways to go. In what ways do you think my homes is capable of rewriting or re calibrating how we view greatness? How we view Brady? How we view him if he can play for 10 or 15 years of this level. Mm hmm. Okay, so big question, But I got you on that. I mean, I spent a lot of time thinking about legacy like I love football. Um, I hope it's not presumptuous to say I consider myself it strike, You know, um Driving a beautiful boy historian. So I've spent a lot of time thinking about this stuff for young guy, right And here's the deal. I think Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback we've ever seen. Six people bowl rings. Might be seven that Z or the world. His list of accomplishments is on the other world know that I'm a Hall of Fame voter. I keep a sprint. She got used to come up and I've come up with a formula. Help me like, figure out like, you know, just so I can approximate Greatness of certain people write this. It is not the end all be all, but it helps me write Tom Brady's Hall of Fame score. Is absurd. Okay, and it's right up there with Peyton Manning, who was actually higher, but you you get what you kept or actually around the same, but The point is He's the greatest right. But with pastors, my homes, I don't think it's out of the question say that he could one day match Tom Brady because of his greatness, So to answer your question. I think in a decade or two, these quarterbacks will be judged by their ability to not just win like like Tom Brady on got just Win at the ultimate level, like Brady, but also how you play. Can you do everything Can you win in the pocket? Can you run around? Can you elevate your teammates? Can you be a great teammate? All the different ways My home has become the Steph Curry. Of The NFL mixed with a little prime M. J in the fact that you never ever under any circumstances when I have money against him. Trust me. You don't want to do that, like you want a miserable experience. It's Super Bowl Sunday. Bet against Patrick. My homes like that's not a fun experience for people. Um, I think that's how we'll start judging greatness beyond just the winning it. A football standpoint. How did you play Where you basically good degraded everything and man, that's one hell of a standard. The best answer I've ever heard on radio. And if we had a spreadsheet for reporters to resume at the very, very top, joking, although dress you know this about me, I love to find and friends soft spots and then just poke them and poke them. I got a former producer Ryan Hickey. We calm Trace, who worked at CBS Sports Radio. Who's a huge Peyton Manning fan. So just a troll him?.

And this is long before there was any Internet or anything, right? Understand how weird CB radios are, If you're not a trucker, like I had one of my home Home base. That's how weird it is. And you get on this thing and you communicate with people and I loved it. The weirdest thing ever went to a restaurant in Woodland Hills, and I was out to dinner one night and all these people were in this booth next to ours. And I heard all these voices and I recognized all the voices. It was so weird, and I'm like, Oh, my God. It's all the people that I talked to on the CB radio. "Six rings, but I basically call it the delayed legacy game, whereas In 20 years we might look at this is the tiebreaker we might look at. This came as a tiebreaker between who was the greatest quarterback all times my homes or Brady and I know there's a big difference in age here, so it's not like, you know. Early listed, you know, you know, it's not like these guys in their absolute problem. You know, Frazier Ali is not like that right? But it is. Um, still kind of baton passing game in a sense, so put it this way. If it passes my home's wins this game Don't have two Super Bowls. The brave six Say Mahomes placed in the 15 more years, which I think he will, because he really loves football, right? I think pretty good that he might be able to get 4 15 years, but how good he is and handled a listers are there's a chance of it right with how good he is an organization around now. What happens, though, if Tom Brady wins his seventh and keeps my home from getting one here. Now, Holmes Acid, you six in those 10 to 15 years and look Holmes is so great you can't say it can't happen, but it makes the task harder. So in a lot of ways, I feel like this is like a legacy tipping point game, even though we won't know the results of it. A couple decades. Right, So that's why I'm late it out that way. Plus, there's one more really awesome thing about it. I think my home I think Brady saw my home's coming. That's why in the NFC championship game two years ago, he sought him out in the locker room. That kind of co sign on him. I thought that was a big deal in this was awesome, too. This is the fifth match up. It's 2 to 2 man, and this might be the last time breaking my home's face each other. Brady's 43 years old chiefs and Buck are scheduled to face each other next year. This might be it. So on so many different levels. This is a great game for football for football historians, um, ever even casual fans because everybody congrats. The enormity of this gay man. Well, more things. Um, I know I'm rambling, but I'm excited. One more thing. The Chiefs are going for history, too, because when you win back to back titles that put you in a completely different stratosphere than other Super Bowl champions, Think of the Americans game. NFL Films documentary right, Well, the last two Super Bowl champions who went back to back. It's no coincidence that those were the highest ranked of those dynasties. So I'm talking about the old four Patriots. The highest wink. America's game team. I think they were 12 for something on the 98 Broncos, where the highest ranked America's game team higher than their 97 champions. And there's one other thing I think about the 96 Packers right. They won a Super Bowl. One of the greater teams we don't talk about anymore. I think that legacy was hurt just a touch by losing to the Broncos and 97 not repeating and by the way. Old four patriots and the 1998 Bronco. Guess what? Their record Woz. 14 into just like this Chief steam. They got a chance to go for history here, and it's gonna be awesome to see if they can do it. Monday is in a teepee day. Let's get to work. I mentioned some of you probably a great weekend. And some of you probably had a craft weekend. I know for a fact. Yesterday was a really rough day for, among others, Bill Belichick. Tom Brady haters and the Green Bay Packers. Brutal. I mean, really brutal because Tom Brady and his new team are going back to the Super Bowl once again. And you know, Bella, check the hood is sitting at home grumbling and muttering to himself. Oh, So over the next few weeks, there's gonna be a whole lot to say about Brady in the bucks. So I'm gonna actually keep it brief today, But let me say this. I don't care how much you hate this guy. I don't care how lame his social media is. You have to admit what Brady has done this season is pretty damn impressive. Yes, I know that he hand picked a team that is loaded with weapons on offense. He's got a ton of talent on defense. I know that he went to the best body that he could find. I know that he got his old tight end out of retirement and they brought in Mr Big Chest. I know there is more talent on this bucks team that on this year's past team, but still he's going back to the Super Bowl again in his first season with the new team and a new coach and a new scheme and no off season or pre season to speak up. And if you're being really honest at times in the first half yesterday, Brady look younger and fresher and stronger than almost ever before it was a laser show. Like I see that and what that guy was doing in the first half and I'm swearing off night shades for the rest of my life. I mean, for the longest time, so I don't even know what the hell a night shade Woz. See that and I'm wondering. Is this old man still selling his recovery pajamas? And if so, how much do they cost? Hell, I don't even care what they cost. I've got to get me some. Oh, and that $200 coffee book table to give me a couple of those. I'm watching this guy in the first half and 43 on the road in the NFC title game, and I'm thinking how the hell is that even possible? And then when he started handing out interceptions like there were avocado ice cream cones, his defense bailed him out time and time again. Which reminds me, you better start giving Todd Bowles some love some run because his defense has carried and pick that team up time. Time again this year. And yes, even though the refs Let both teams play. They sure did come out with a really convenient flag for Tampa when they needed it most. Now I'm not saying that that was not pass interference by Kevin King on third and four with 1 46 to go in the game, and the Packers needed to stop to get the ball back. What I am saying is that was not P I for the 58 minutes, they came before it. Again. There'll be lots of time to talk about Brady in the box and what they've done. There's a really high risk of hitting. Jerome Bettis is from Detroit levels of talk about Brady in the box and the fact that they're playing the Super Bowl at home. We'll get to that plenty of time for that. All of that. We have two weeks for that, but for now, and I hate to do this Packer fans, But we've got to talk about a couple of moments from yesterday what they meant to the game and what they might mean to the future of that team. And you know the moments that I'm talking about. The first one came with 34 seconds left in the first half. When Sean Murphy Bunting picked off Aaron Rodgers in midfield, not an ideal outcome, given the Green Bay and hope to get points at the end of the half and then start the ball will start the second half with the ball, but the defense came up with stops on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down.
