Fresh update on "toronto blue jays" discussed on Starting9
"There. We don't know we don't know. Right season was was going to represent was reaction to a lot of the things that have surrounded the Houston Astros, and are they able to compartmentalize and candy turn it on when they need to? That's what we're gonNA find out and that's if you're the if you're the Chicago White sox their game and a half back. Raise for the the number one seed to be able to play the Toronto lose and I mean. That's the other thing too is I don't know. There are some teams in the American league that are lower ranking seeds and I mean namely the Indians and. There there's a couple of of lower you take. You take in the Toronto Blue Jays over. I'm saying if the Tampa Bay rays run into the Blue Jays in a short series that that could I'm not saying that I wouldn't pick Tampa but the Toronto, Blue Jays our team that could potentially be scary match up in a short series. And the same thing goes for the Cleveland Indians like is the number seven going up against the right now, Chicago White Sox, like would you re if you're the white sox? You're probably trying to get that one seed so that you draw Toronto instead of having, to, get, CLEVELAND. In the sand, we talked about this earlier, the number seven seed Cincinnati reds I'm not sure you want that smoke if you're the number to seizure cog cups. I mean. and. The reason why as you're staring down the barrel of Bauer and a fucking Castillo and now I'm good and sunny gray. Sunny A He's come back down to earth, but he's still gonna a sub four. But, the Jays like. After Rio. Like who are you pumping that fear into my heart with? Taiwan Walker is not doing that I don't think it's. Not, in Mike rotation standpoint, it's more just like the Blue Jays happened. To bludgeon you to death. But that's where this ball games going. That's what these volumes are going to be. One is on the fucking mound in the first five innings. That's where these ball games are going to be one. So if you're a team like the Blue Jays, who thinks that they can come. With the bat and that's why you're going to be able to hang. Different Puckett animal it's a different animal. Over. And those starters that's where. Man That's the bullpen is what sustains you over the course of a season? Your ability to navigate games that blow up early and you can hang around and fight back or games that you get up in. Your bullpen can eliminate any sort of momentum push from the other team well in October that momentum push is one game. And that occurs in the first five innings like I said, five six innings after that stir, we're kind of open to you have. Can You keep us here? Are Worried about you. But before we get there what does the game look like and the starting pitchers determine that they determine who in that bullpen is going to be a factor It's I knew that this was going to happen but I'm fine with it because I know the baseball fans eat this shit up. Just breaking down the entire postseason picture before spots are locked in. Like breaking down series before even know that they're going to be played that that things can change pretty quickly. Especially when you've got a week left this is it. Some teams have six games left. So this is it. I would imagine more team. We just need one more team to dance, jared yeah. That's IT and raise the white sox the as the twins the Yanks the friars, the dodgers. We need what you're. Yeah. I mean if you look at the American League, it's it's locked in I mean the Seattle. Mariners are four games out from a playoff spot behind the blue jays and in the National League. You have. You have the seventh seed. Reds, the eighth seed Phillies, and then the brewers and the San Francisco giants are all tied in the loss column. So like there could be like the brewers in the in the giants have the same record coming into play on Tuesday, and there could be some crazy juggling going on with the seventh and eighth spots between the brewers, giants, reds, and Phillies. So I guess we'll see what goes on there. But for the most part, we know which teams are in the American. League how was this last week of baseball if you're if you`re seriously. If you're talking I mean. That's incredible. That is incredible. Yeah. Billy's fourteenth leaving las calmer now giants. Let's go. Yeah. Now this is a table this weekend. Yes. Yes. So if you're a fan of any one of those teams of your reds, Fan Bills Fan Brew Crew Fan Fan of the giants and you were I just please take yourself back to the beginning of this entire debacle that has been the pandemic that has been quarantined that has been the terrible negotiations that we saw on bold in the baseball world. Take your heart and how it felt in those days in those moments were you would have done unspeakable things just to watch a fucking with a ball game breakout on your strength Yeah I remember that they've fucking die like Trevor Bauer did that he organized like. A sandlot football game and I sat there and watched the live stream. Feel something. Yup. Just to get the tingles back I was sitting on my fucking rock on top of the mountain in our backyard watching the to neighborhood kids brothers. Play fucking blitz ball with strike zone that I gave them. I couldn't even go down there play with them. Yeah. Like just fucking pulled up a rock can watch to that's where we all were. Let's just remember that. Okay. That's where we all were and as we sit today as you're listening to this, be piped into.

MLB: Washington DC Nationals Fall To Toronto Blue Jays 5-1
"Till the Nationals are five would lost to the Blue Jays. Three of those runs UN earned and trade. Turner points out, knowing definitely to clean it up in the field on kind of relaxed at the plate, and now I think we do those two things. "toronto blue jays" Discussed on The Bronx Pinstripes Show - Yankees MLB Podcast
"Where the BLUEJAYS ARE GONNA be playing? It Dunedin would be easy. It would be completely seamless because the Blue Jays obviously own the the ballpark down there play Spring Training Games where the Dunedin Blue Jays play they actually just recently renovated it and spruce it up. They also recently renovated their entire player development complex down there. They would have absolutely everything that a major league ballplayer could want or need the thing they can't guarantee is the actual health of the players down there because obviously the case numbers in Florida has been out of control. So players have actually been pretty public and saying, we don't want to go play in Florida we don't want to be in Pinellas can't. So that is now off the table buffalo is. Option would be relatively easy for the Blue Jays is lauded infrastructure upgrades have to happen there in terms of the lights, which of the major league quality in terms of the clubhouses and on the weight room and all of syllables the big league ballplayers want need and a blue jays have people in Buffalo assessing that right now and they're looking at making those upgrades bought again, the players have come out and said we WANNA, play a major league facility. They do not want to play in a minor league ballpark for a variety of reasons. So that has led the bluejays to Alternative options of sharing at MLB facility with another club, and there's a bunch of different scenarios there. One of them would be Pittsburgh at PNC park in the pirates of actually come out made a statement that they would welcome the Blue Jays to come share their facility there into play the regular season home schedule in Pittsburgh. Another option would be Baltimore and Pasta, split between Baltimore and Washington which obviously nearby one another. If you look if you admission Camden, park is the bay warehouse in right field, you could put a you know you can put a clubhouse out there and build something. to be able to use instill respect the distancing protocols is put in place in all that. So that's another option to me. I think the those are those are the most likely options by think probably, the Blue Jays end up at something of a hybrid in that they start the season on the road three Tampa than three games in Washington and. Other actually spoke a story, two games in Washington and under supposed to host two more games against Washington. So really that to into home with Washington ought to just become four days in Washington against nationals, and then from there blue supposed to host the phillies for three games on Philadelphia like two hours away from Washington. So the Blue Jays could just go to. Play at Citizens Bank Park Phillies, and they go on the road again in our don't have another home date until the middle of August..
Toronto Blue Jays to play majority of 2020 home games in New York
"Last night at the Ronald Bluejays, where a major league baseball team without a home in terms of playing home games at a stadium on Friday, they found out they're going to play majority. The home games of Bubble New York, home of the team's Triple A affiliate, the Buffalo Bison's Anthony's Breakers, the GM the Buffalo Bison's can't wait to hear his take on this, as he joins Thank to show a pencil performance line. Anthony plane, but we believe that it's a Ronald Blue Jays would not become wards of Major League baseball when it comes out having any home games. But for those who don't know about your stadium where they're going to play What can this state and really do, even though it's a minor league field, but a major league team's about to play on it. Well, guys, thanks for having me on and it's Ah, it's a thrilled to be hosting the Blue Jays. That's assailant field, and you know everybody in Buffalo kind of nose and in the minor league baseball circuit that Our ballpark in is the biggest and minor league baseball seating capacity wise. Back 1988. It was built to become a major league ballpark and You know, thanks to a kind of that ability, you know, we we've got the space and the infrastructure to do the best we can, and probably best that any minor league team to be ready for a major team coming in to take care of them. What kind of changes to the specs of that yard have to be made, if any, to be able to host a major league baseball game. Yeah. I mean, there's there's certainly Ah, few things overcome here in a short period of time, But you know, we're confident we can do it. But you know, some of the things lighting has been has been talked about. As ah, major obstacle, but we feel we're going to be able to do that with some plans. We're gonna have some portable lights brought in and ever bulbs changed out. As well to sew. The TV games will be have no problem saying in the game and you know, a little bit of the clubhouse is well, it's you've seen, you know, with the social distancing Fenway model. Everybody's kind of calling it. And having teams in the suites were considering that looking at all the different avenues in the ballpark where weaken socially distance players and him a good home. Keep him safe, but also give him a nice place. To be inside of ballpark alone will be certainly a little unique. But you know, it's a majorly style ballpark. It's our facilities. Fantastic, the actual game on the field. I won't miss a beat will be ready. Anthony spread that you know, the Buffalo Bison's Their home field is going to be the home for the Toronto Bluejays in Major league baseball. This 2020 joining Freddie Coleman and if it's Simmons on Freddy and Fitz Simmons on ESPN radio. I'm glad you mentioned exactly that. It's a pretty neat thing to have this. I know fans won't be able to be allowed into the stadium. But what does this really mean? For the city of Buffalo having it's around a Blue Jays, calling that city their home for 2020 I mean, it's it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. I think for all of us so we can come forward on this and host Ah Major league team here. I mean, we're the support we're getting from our local politicians. Byron Brown has been fantastic. Governor Cuomo has been a huge help in this old saying, Mark pulling cars are your county executive has Has really helped us. They've come and said Look any help you guys need We're here. We're helpful. Every one of our partners through this Even before we knew that they were coming. Everyone is excited about this. How can we help you help? What can we dio? You know, Buffalo, the city of good neighbors, and it is truly going toe. We're gonna show that everybody everyone's gonna pitch in. Everyone's going to do their part, and you know whenever that time comes, I know it's a little up in the air, exactly the first game that's going to be here. We're going to be ready and it's going to be really put Buffalo on the national map on the international map, too, because you know the J's are Canadians, the country's team. And I think everybody not just in buffalo, but in New York state is goingto see what What? Buffalo Khun D'oh. Anthony, What has this been like for you personally, You haven't been the GM there very long. You've been in the organisation for. I think close to two decades if I'm not mistaken, but you haven't been a GM very long. What is this? Hold? This is the last 4.5 months been like for you personally. You know, you have been with the bisons for a long time. Um, but yeah, only was ah named G. M a few days before everything shut down. Due to the pandemic, so I probably you know, in a few years, I'll realize how crazy this was. But it's just been one crazy step after another that every change everyday every week has felt like a year in a time capsule pretty much that I can't even really read my head around. What's what's been going on. And, um, you know, I've had so many different moving targets from you know, the starting our season to the PBA agreement was Major League baseball, Tio. Mark seasons canceled and the Jays they're gonna come. They're not going to come. They're going to play in Toronto. There, not going. I mean, they had so many twists and turns that it's hard to keep track of, Um And I probably don't realize how crazy it really has been until I go through a normal season GM but it has been AH, It's really been a whirlwind of emotions. And you know, I'm kind of left now with just Ah, whole lot of excitement that that we're going to get those that Toronto bluejays. Anthony sprayed the June that Buffalo Bison's

Canada Says No To Home Games For Toronto Blue Jays
"There are so many questions right now. What will happen to the Blue Jays? So as you probably know. Canada said no to the Blue Jays, playing in Toronto too much it took the the federal government actually write, write, write too much cross border travel. You know, like, and maybe this is a question for Michael. Does it seem duplicitous that the NHL is in Toronto, but that Blue Jays can't be. I think I get it, though. Maybe I'm missing an obvious point. But in terms of hockey, they're all there and they're not going anywhere. Right, and the Blue Jays would be coming back and forth across the border all the time and so with their opponents So now what? And the Toronto Star had an article about I think at one point they might have said that Buffalo was going to happen. And then it was couched some Dunedin. I know I saw one headline that it was like they're going to Buffalo. But, yeah, they're not at least not officially and all. It seems like everything I've read since then. Oh, Saturday afternoon is that the Bisons facility is just not good enough. For this now. It'll come down to what there are. Other options are And maybe we'll end up having to be good enough. Lighting in the clubhouse and everything, but it seems that at least of at least right now, and we'll talk to Mike. Maybe this will change today, but it's up in the air.

So it's relatively easy to track them. How Long. I've had this job in about three years now. Two years in a month and my role is to assign stories at stories figure out the direction of wired on the HR office figure out our business model view with ethical questions involving sponsored content. And every now and then go on. Cool podcast talk about things. We care a lot about like artificial intelligence. Well great well thanks. We drill to heavier. Because I think you know part of the reason why we have you on our podcast. Is You have an interesting perspective. You obviously hearing from the industry and hearing from pundits and you're hearing of course from what end users are talking about but also a governments are doing have interesting perspective. That may be many others. Don't have on what's happening for artificial intelligence and so as you may see is impacting every industry. It's impacting all sorts of corners of our ecosystem. So how have you seen a evolving over the past few years and for your audience? How have you seen your audience of all in its understanding and interaction with artificial intelligence? It's interesting you know. The debate over a I has conversation. Area has changed and all kinds of wonderful ways since I started this job and started really digging into it. You know three years ago. Four years ago the public conversation over a I was much more about super intelligence and much. More bowed concerns about runaway TAC. Much more caught up in the hype over the last couple of years. We've narrowed and deepened understanding back to now. It's much more about okay. What former they I is going to be. The MOST IS GONNA BE MACHINE. Learning as far as we can see are going to go beyond machine. Learning let's talk about the ethical debates but let's not talk about them in the superficial ways. We really talked about them a year or two ago. Just talk about him and more complex nuanced ways much talk about where is actually being used successfully where it's not. I've talked about it's real limitations. Too I feel like part of my own. Understanding of the issue has deepened in profound ways. Over the last three years editing stories about hey right but I also think that the reader wired have become much more educated on the topic much more interested in it and much more involved than ever increasingly interesting debates about all things related to I. It's interesting that you say that because we've seen a lot of the use cases that we talk about and with our clients as well. We say you know this would be a great application. They're very mundane back office processes things like that and people are like. Oh yeah well. That's kind of a boring use case and we're like yes but it's an incredibly useful one and you should probably start with it and it's going to save a lot of money and time so it's interesting you know you've been seeing that as well where we've gone from this talk about artificial general intelligence is very you know super ristic science fiction view in some sense of Ai. To how can we use it now in every day? So we've talked about how. Ai Is impacting just about every industry including journalism as well. So how do you see? Changing journalism in the coming years and what ethical considerations should be discussed and put in place around this? Yeah I mean I I just want to completely agree with your statement or one of the companies. I read about a lot of facebook. And you know when I started people like Oh my God. Facebook IS USING AI. To create language that will displace humanity. And now hey is basically like a really useful tool for getting porn off facebook right. It's much simpler row tasks that are much better accomplished with assistance. Humans journalism question every profession is going to be changed in interesting ways. Biracial right because professional events systems using. I will be able to do things that we used to have. Humans do so when I think about journalism. What are the things that we do now? That machines can do better from a reporting process. I think that machines and it'll be very help and identifying patterns potentially defined stories so there will be a group of reporters class reporters a type of reporter in the future who will harness AI to analyze databases identify patterns find investigative stories. There will also be kinds of stories that we no longer need to write to the Washington. Post is already experimenting with having a systems writing basic pieces so Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore. Orioles for to to happen. Because someone's home run and Joe got so they're kind of wrote stories that people like to read that you don't really need a human writing you can probably right about stock market and as time passes and as machines get better like those stories will increasing complexity. You won't be able to write three thousand word narratives profiles using an AI system. But you'll be able to write a certain kind class of story within the tasks that we have you right. It'll be changed a little bit. Copy editing an interesting profession. Where High End. Copy editing like trying to identify voice style that will stay with humans right to kind of copy. Editing Donna wired but there's a different level of copy editing that I think probably will be automated replaced by. There's fact checking that you smart a system could do so. There's certain tasks within the stack of tasks that make up the creation of an article. That will be done with I in a certain set of them. That won't be a lot of journalism in ball. Human to human contact human human reporting becoming friends with somebody eventually developing a relationship where they trust you to give you the information that makes an important story like a machine is not gonna be able to develop a trusted relationship with the source story but a machine will be able to do copy editing. The fact check legal review parts of that more efficiently than a human can so few ways. It's GonNa Change. They're probably about twenty five thousand others but that start that's interesting. You know one of the things we've noticed it. I don't think related specifically artificial intelligence but the whole idea of the long form article has really sort of. It's become a lot I mean. Maybe I'm just noticing it more become a lot. More prevalent icon. There's like bringing you into the emotion of the story and sort of like you know carrying rather than just talking about the facts of some story just today. I was reading this book about somebody who was lost in the Costa Rican rainforest and somebody wrote a book about it and and instead of just talking about that sort of brings you into the story and I found that to be really engaged. Something of course that you can't really do what they item wondering if one is sort of like a reaction to the other which is that. These sort of automated pieces are taking the place of sort of this more sorta wrote journalism and in the place now. Journalists are more storyteller switch bringing people into the narrative. I mean does something. I don't know if that's something that's intentional or I'm just noticing it more. I think that I think it is true that there are more of those stories and it probably you are seen more of them in your newsletters in the publications you read. I don't think it's a reaction to a I yet or it. Is You know. Five percent due to ask generated through. I think that is much more. A reaction to the decline of advertising supported journalism so one of the big wrecks or phenomenon dinner industries that the price of ads on websites and permissions like both prices. Going down in the Seltzer rate is going down. So it's much harder to generate revenue off of content. Right if you get if you publish a ton of stories and get a ton of readers. It's hard to

"Twenty one minutes down from the two o'clock here in a Saturday CEO of a wrinkle in the schedule today, we have the twins in the Orioles not one but two today and Oreo park at Camden Yards got rained out. But I remember reading Phil Miller. Follow a lot of people on Twitter. But Phil sent out a tweet last night twins beat writer for the Star Tribune. He said they they called the game. But it really hasn't rained that hard and Baltimore tonight with the fought they probably could've played the game on Friday night. Yeah. Interesting. The Orioles would would give the game that quick hook. I think about what the twins did on Wednesday night here in Minneapolis it rained all day. It started to lighten up as you got closer to game time. It was kind of a mist coming down. They delayed. The first pitch from six forty seven thirty pm that got the game. And it was forty three degrees. Not the greatest night to play baseball. But you know, the Toronto Blue Jays that's their only trip in. So they wanted to avoid anything as far as you know, making Tronto comeback. Now, you did have the next game on Thursday as a possibility. But I'm sure both teams needed to get out of town. So Minnesota got the game. In Orioles say, you know, what we're just going to play two on Saturday and. Minnesota makes it's only trip to Baltimore this weekend. That's part of it. They they wanna make sure the twins Orioles. Play three. Yeah. And for the twins in Blue Jays on Wednesday night. You brought it up with the inclement weather during the day. It really wasn't ideal attendance was low for the four-game series. It's still is the middle of April here in Minnesota. And the Blue Jays are in town. Not a great team name struggled as of late. So it wasn't a huge draw. But you totally wanna do avoid a double header on getaway. Dan Thursday that just was not identified -solutely in look the twins. Can't tell 'em LB when they wanna play certain teams, and where nobody can dictate how MLB is going to do the schedule. But, but I know deep down it had to be disappointing for Minnesota to get Toronto in April during the week because I've seen weekend series here. When the Blue Jays come in later in the season, the weather's warmer and those blue Jay fans flocked town because if you think about a. Geographically, if you're in Manitoba sketch on even parts of Antero, you're closer to Minneapolis than you are to Toronto. And I've seen blue Jay blue dominate target field in the past. I've seen tour buses parked on the streets, even with the high parking rates. We know have in Minneapolis. I've seen Saskatchewan plates Manitoba Ontario, the twins didn't that bounce this week. That's unfortunate because that's usually a fun series. It's a it's a different kind of a border battle. If you will. Yeah. And I'm wondering if at some point speaking of the schedule, you can sit down if you're the twins, and you're the city of Minneapolis and the greater twin cities area. I mean, let's face it. Blue Jay fans, if they come down from north of the border are probably going to do a ballgame. Maybe go out to valley, fair, whatever the point and spend money here in town that that's one of those series say to MLB if we get the Blue Jays, we'd like them in that window between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Now you. Can't accommodate every major league team. But as you pointed out, the proximity to succeed Schwann Manitoba, and even you know, western Ontario, the twin cities is ideal. There's no question if you're in Thunder Bay on terro, and you wanna see the Blue Jays it's easier to come here than go to Toronto. And and like you said, I mean, if you're in Saskatchewan your next closest stop Seattle. You don't have a lot of options to Toronto was the only major league baseball team. And yeah, it's it's just too bad. They couldn't have had this thing. Go later in the year at least on a weekend because I remember a couple years ago vividly walking into the ballpark and all I saw was the blue Jay logo everywhere. The fan base kind of staged a coup. D'etat if you will know the buffalo was better than to to be fair. Toronto struggling they're still nine and twelve even though they went three or four here. But I think if this is a series later in the year, the twins get more bounce and the blue Jay fans show up and everybody. Win. So major league baseball should look at things like that. But I have thirty teams to worry about and putting together a schedule as rubik's cube. I mean, it's there's a lot that goes into it. So sometimes you don't get what you want twins take two out of two from the Tigers. Of course, they had that postponement on Friday night, the twelve they're able to beat the Tigers four to three and six to four over the weekend. Then the Blue Jays come to town team. That's been struggling as you pointed out they were a big payroll big money team. It didn't pay dividends for them. Now. They're trying to find a new way simple fact of the matter is Blue Jays played pretty well and beat the twins three out of four. And that that was not a good look for the twins in those four games. I it was a Donny Downer way to end the home stand because you felt very good on Sunday when they swept away Detroit and that brief two game series. They lost one to snow and cold, but the twins. You know in the division are six and one. So they've been able to early on b. Their neighbors. Cleveland Kansas City and Detroit. They haven't seen the Chicago White Sox yet and incomes Toronto. And you're thinking all right. Maybe they get three more here. And they hit the road with a pretty impressive record. But instead Toronto came in the comeback victory on Monday. I was at the game on Tuesday that was one of the more dramatic finishes. I've ever seen with my own eyes to a baseball game. Where Buxton hit the double down the line and the twins wave in CJ Cronin. By the way, I agree with the call to send him and the o-on pitch lip two left down the line towards the quarter near the wall in plano. Here comes third. He's gonna try to score the relates to the plate. That's the game. Crillon.

Similar deal Jay hat, left, ahead Toronto. Blue Jays is that a good omen Why sure Now remember the Yankees if I'm, not mistaken didn't trade for. Jimmy Key they signed Jimmy Key when he was a. Free agent if you go back to nineteen, Ninety-three, Fred yeah a lot of people they mentioned the ninety. Five series they mentioned winning the World Series in, ninety six but you gotta realize what. Those teams they had a losing culture before ninety three and the Yankees Bob brain in Wade Boggs bringing in, Jimmy Key bringing in, poor Neil all three of those guys played on winning teams top, flight players and you? Know what they brought a culture where they weren't going to be accepting the losing any talk guys like Bernie Williams and Derek jeeter and all those, young Yankees how to win how to be. A professional these Yankee team is past? That right they were in game seven of the league championship series a. Year ago they needed a veteran arm that come in here and. Stabilize things I don't, think happy He's going to have that sort of Jimmy Key, like impact you just hope they can go. On a run where he has eight? Or nine good starts pitches well down the stretch and could be a. Big part of this thing and be a wise and a solid. Rental for Brian Cashman Yeah you're you're right and I thought that they got him in a trade maybe maybe I just I was thinking about that same team and, left-hander well the Yankees did get a hired gun from the Toronto Blue Jays and he helped them get to the postseason in nineteen. Ninety five and he's one of my favorite Yankees over the last twenty five, years ago but. David Collins so you? Know, what Fred you're. Not wrong, my friend the Yankees didn't make a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays for a pitcher who paid off in a big way because? Guess what ninety five down the stretch it. Out year the Yankees won a sniffed. Out wildcard if it wasn't, for Coney Coney was money down. The stretch Actually watching over Yankee. Earlier today like around eleven o'clock this is disturbing I'm flipping around the channels, I'm trying to. Find something to watch, the, girlfriends sitting there. Saying really, your watching the Yankee allegory right now might not but it was the Andy Pettitte Yankee Agassi and you think back to how good? Andy Pettitte was in all those game twos. In a postseason well and wants to. Help Dante Pettit that earlier, years of China develop as pitcher You got David Cone and Jimmy Keanu locker room Guy like the white good news there Uh-huh It's pretty crazy thinking about ninety six where you had guys like couldn't come in Yankee. Keys still there cone coming back from the aneurysm and down in. Atlanta Came three four. And five of the World Series you had a bench Paul Neil Wade Boggs Tino Martinez and Tim. Rates off the bench that's crazy Absolutely casey And you hope that this Yankee team can have that sorta ride that we sell in. Nineteen Ninety-six I'd sign for that. Right now the first things first is about taking care of the business of the Boston Red Sox and that four game series coming up next week eight seven seven hundred thirty seven sixty six. Sixty six what the Yankees will do between now and Tuesday have moves for. The Mets the considered the idea of train away Zack willa it's been. He starts jabbing me in the chest. You don't know juvenile idea how fucking what you did to fucking me do what I can do to you blow Bubba. And the only good moment I had. He's like, I drove around Atlanta. I introduced my family. I bought you lunch, and I got what I paid for lunch. Fuck you. That doesn't matter. Always pay for lunch. The lesson I always say, and it was frigging terrifying and the worst part of it was I was asked. So once a media Saad and afterwards I was interviewed in the in the in the press box afterwards. Someone asked if I was scared and I rode IRA. Yeah, I was scared. I know runs in the newspaper quote Jefferson. I was scared for the next like five or six giving my brother at some point during dinner ago, I was scared like that. I was scared quote from John. That's my John rocker story. So I had no idea that you had already in this thing. Head of him giving you all of those ridiculous quotes and had it because for years he was like, this was a guy with an agenda, and I was like, man, I wrote a story about you that made you look good. You fucking idiot anyway. Yeah. Have you done any stories since then that you would compare it to the John rocker story. More like people upset over over books. I mean, no Clemens did not like the biography already, but nothing. Nothing like that. Nothing. I wrote a story not long after David Wells was a pitcher with the Toronto Blue Jays and I wrote this lied about how fatty wise because he was known as, but it was like it was added. He was a guy. He was a Big Eye, but it was meant in my head, it was a terribly executed lead, but it was meant as praise and but came off really snarky in mean in he was pissed and he actually said this guy did me just like he did rocker. And now is really awkward, and he was right. She mad that was me being young and dumb and not having the language, but I've never had anything like that. Well, do you run into nowadays in maybe you're like senior enough that this doesn't happen, but the I've only written probably fifteen stories that have been published, but on almost every single one of them without fail, my editor will rewrite my headlined and often times it's like for click bait and I, I really hate it. Have you ever had a situation like that. I haven't. The famous one is before I got Sports Illustrated by year or so there was that story on Michael Jordan playing baseball. Steve Wolfe, wrote the story, nothing to do with the headline. They put on the cover bag at Michael, and it was about like how Michael Jordan is embarrassment to baseball. And that was the last time I joined. Talk to Sports Illustrated. And the right lane. And he's like, I had nothing to do with any right the headline, but I've never had. I've never had anything bad headlines. I've liked. I've had book book, titles, names, books, I don't like, but nothing that's really cost me. That story is something that everybody should read just because it's, I mean. I don't even know why, but it's, it's just entertaining. It's a good one. Not for me when it happened later, you can look back at things always know. You learn from all this stuff and it was a, it was a weird experience. I told that story million times. It's still it's funny to he. You know what's funny as a friend of mine ran into John rocker at a bar like four days ago, and he texted me. He's like, I'm in a bar John rocker. And I wrote back tell friends. He's like, okay. Then he tweeted destroyed. John rocker infringed gel Rohan that did not go well. Did he tell you what happened? Said rocker was like livid, like, you know, fuck that guy. Bub-bubba dividing is I always thought I always had to sing because I was like making with people..

"For the rockies as they trailed twelve three to the chicago cubs in the bottom half of the seventh inning tyson ross is working on a no hitter in arizona tonight the san diego padres lead the diamondbacks by a score of one to nothing in the middle of the sixth so ross will come back out for the bottom half of the sixth keep an eye on that one if you like to see no hitters being developed have some finals for you from earlier today the detroit tigers defeat the kansas city royals by a score of three to two in ten innings jacoby jones with the walk off for the tigers who are playing respectful baseball eight and nine i don't think anyone would expected that at the beginning of the season from the lowly tigers they did drop game two of their double header three to same score different result kansas city wins the nightcap as they be the tigers in baltimore a three one victory for the baltimore orioles over the cleveland indians indians are just nine and eight on the year they've been scuffling a bit in philadelphia a two one win for the phillies over the pittsburgh pirates cesar hernandez and odwalla harare combining for the big hits in that one as the phillies improved to twelve and seven in the bronx the toronto blue jays overcome a giancarlo stanton home run to win eight five over the yankees ti scare hernandez and and jervis solarte's each homer for the blue jays as they improve to thirteen and six in tampa bay tonight the minnesota twins comeback late to take a lead in the ninth inning but it doesn't hold fernando rodney the former tampa bay closer blows the save on what used to be his home turf and an extra innings the raise win at eight two seven on a controversial missed first base from the pitcher's fielding practice savvy joe mauer and zach duke nice play by our but duke could not put his right foot on the base that would have sent it to an eleventh inning raise win eight two seven.

"Oh yeah it's that's that's where i was and i woke up in a very different spot this morning so while i saw i was i was going to be able to give the race some love in the base of their four man rotation stuff and all that well it didn't really work out so my takeaways is the range shit on me they sure did the toronto blue jays for me when we talked i think it was the last week that we before we did our predictions for the season i had them as my surprise team in the american league not just the american league east american league oh yeah yeah yeah i think i think they're going to actually live up to that they they look like a team that can make some noise in the alias they might not wanna while card spot but i definitely think that they're going to factor into the equation think they're gonna be there at the end they might even gonna yeah they might even one in there they might even get a second or or even a first wildcard spot i think the blue jays of real they are going to be a problem for the red sox and the yankees just to be totally clear if the blue jays make the playoffs that's jay territory item in the wild card baltimore orioles might take away worse run differential in baseball entering play on wednesday at negative nineteen terrible twelve runs scored thirty one runs allowed kevin gaza men once again breaking hearts in april by appearing to have not learned anything from the second half of last season again yeah i very low expectations for the orioles and they are currently meeting them obviously still early ale sorry analyst and.

"To do right so it's hard for me to look at a team like that at any point and say there are two hundred i just i just pulled up major league baseball retrievers in but under guess for either on the red sox underachieved that's what it would be the houston astros are 16th in major league baseball in payroll the cleveland indians our 19th in major league baseball and the red sox have got to be thought through okay thirdleading ago dodgers or at the top by a lot yeah then you've got the yankees just below the yankees are the red sox and believe it or not number four is the toronto blue jays such an underachiever so if they if for them to avoid the underachiever label they've got at least to win a series they got to win is yes yes they are one of the areas that i agree with that yeah and i and i play houston in the in the first round of the playoffs under achieve and now i think i'll have to get you just said there in under two other underdog their hundred dog they're not as good as you stand now if they're not italy if they beat the team that their aim rare it's an underrated one or the other there either the underdogs hey you know things to see that the exact reason i hate the whole payroll arguello keep it if you spend more money you have to be there you should better it should be maybe there there are either underdogs are there underachievers ac that payroll factors into a you don't like to payroll and and you hate to look at it that way but a two hundred seventy million dollar guy like i like david price another two hundred seventy million dollar guy who doesn't make it yet but he he will if the red sox resign chris sale only got big time talent to know i there's no doubt great flamboyant one and they got said houston's faith their favorite too should be favoured they are used or or cleveland i'm just saying let's they're going to play houston likely in the first round uh things are in houston would be favorites way better team better record not a wreck and they'll be favoured so if you'll lose to the team that you're supposed to lose two you underachieved when you are.

"There don's areas i should have or its own name from the black of poor rockies blasting the past last year the past watch out because his son bobic's yet is absolutely terry up the myrlie who's you with a with a toronto blue jays and if you pull up his numbers you will notice is one thing this kid rakes the shortstop hit four hundred in a low a ball this year is an eighteen year old he got bumped up to a high ball in dunedin with the toronto blue jays so the the dini and that he was hitting njs and indonesia in so he's in 344 yeah that's it that's it so on the year on the year he he's hitting three 72 if you like that sort of thing that are fifty two heads he has thirty nine doubles twelve homer sixty seven rbi is the kids a special player and he's gonna fall dads to footsteps he might be a little smaller of little bit more athletic than his dad daunted eight jontay bashir davis yet yeah i mean look it's it's a time where a guy like giancarlo because he has so much power and there's one thing that the giants are lacking is power your you just get attracted to him but it's it's not so i think it's way more complicated than everyone wants to make it be every time that he has a homer late at the at the all star break it looked a little easier to get up you know what i mean but since the all star break he's actually gone terror that with every homer you're adding an adding a type or tier of a prospect or money that you're taking on an understand that it's when giant screens are screaming that they weren't giancarlo stand the only thing though is on my mind is how's that going to end impact the guy like madison bumgarner down the road and his contract really does number one thing for me well because how much money do think madison is going to get.
