"A little bit about the economy because i thought everything was hunky dory and then all of a sudden i'm reading some notes from bank like for example thirty nine percent of americans say the economy is not so good or poor i'm seeing another story from yahoo financing the economic confidence among chief executive officers at u._s. small mid sized businesses stumbled in the second quarter and they don't think things are looking very good and some of that has to do with the tariff situation and what else is going on here what's all pulling pulling down if we've had happy news for quite a while you look at the data tony yes the economy is doing well fifty years but when you talk to people on the street you get a different read a lot of that is just kitchen table economics for people that are living paycheck to paycheck they haven't had a raise in a couple of years they're not buying into this idea that the economy's The recent slump we see not only in consumer confidence in business. that traces back to what we're seeing with trade disputes tariff all that uncertainty consumer concerned about the economy of business owner that's concerned about the economy they're not gonna spend they're not gonna hire those things kind of become headwinds to economic situation we're in right now well obviously last night in the debates that was something that democrats tried to tap into it's not about yes people are some people are doing well but not all people are doing well but try to lift all boats that kind of thing that may or may not you know have some thing to do with the next election we don't know but it does it seem to be true to you that just what you're saying that a lot of americans are feeling this big turnaround that we've seen this this shift i mean you know there were america's then have jobs two years ago the now have jobs at least the job situation is significantly better but when you look at things like emergency savings we see not only a lack of progress but in the black twelve months a step backward so people's preparedness for an economic downturn or recession has actually receded that savings talked about this some show number times savings has really been the achilles heel of people security in their keenly aware of that and i think that two factors into how they feel about the economy they haven't been able to put more money away or make progress financial standpoint that that two ways on their outlook in their assessment for how good the economy and of course that's where we get into this fix of how much of it is personal responsibility the fault of somebody to have a six year degree program where they have been loan debt and how much of it is really not being able to turn around with a college degree and have a job that justifies them going you know where they went scholar why they went to school for their degree You know, I look, you know, be on college degree because. unemployment rate is higher for those that don't have a degree earning have been slower to ride for those that don't have a degree those that have a degree the unemployment rate is much lower you know a lot of fields if you're in the right field they can't hire i mean the fact is we got more open jobs economy than we do unemployed people and the reason for that big gap is it skills gap that we don't have enough people with their skills certification education so he i think for those that that you know they they get a degree in field that's in high demand they themselves are becoming high demand and they can command higher income but those that are racking up six figures where the debt to get a degree in anthropology i you know i don't have a whole lot of answers for that one all right greg mcbride thanks so much bankrate.com well said twenty minutes after we've got to get to break when we come back home check of sports college baseball world series of major league baseball in more on the way taste the legendary flavor of the double our bar burger at lloyd rogers were talking full quarter pound piece to that american cheese then top at all with sliced and seared smithfield a._m. but on partner you're not doing yet head out to the fixings bar and put your own brand it it's the quarter pound double are barred bird holy yet roy rogers always a cut above.

"Dropped their first game of the season. They are now one and one as the series with the cardinals all even two more games to go tomorrow and Sunday before the season opening series comes to an end four one four seven nine nine one six twenty four one four seven nine nine one six twenty that is the accurate mortgage talk and text line brewers manager Craig council meeting with the media not that long ago. He opened up his press conference this evening, really talking about the performance of starting pitcher, Freddie, Peralta. I thought the first there is you. In the first sitting there was definitely some pitches that go his way, and maybe we get out of it with. Less pitches. I think just an easier ending instead of. The thirty whatever phone calls to forty pitch any you can get a little easier. But. You know, he he was he was scattered. He was scattered with his fastball. And then so it got him into trouble. And they took some close benches, and they weren't called. And they ended up making them work. Pretty good. Skuld schmidt. Having. I mean that was I mean that pitch was Freddie, missed his location badly. But it was probably a ball. I think it was probably but. Had a great night. In your home runs. For those guys know the Williams pitches. A slider middle. Not a good pitch. I'm drawn a blank on the other one Jacob Barnes one same thing. Yeah. Natural walk who said. Not wanting hurt me. Trying to win the game. There's a base open logical thing to do. Craig worse for you know, there's good hitters challenge is a lot more. What about his name? Accents such a difficult out. Well, yeah. I mean, he definitely got us today. You know, we're we're just gonna have to make better pitches. We didn't they didn't make good enough pitchers today. And the the good hitters a great hitters. You know, they the margin for error is is far more slim, and we just. Once in a while they're gonna hit it at a tough pitch outside. I think he did that on Freddie, and the first bad. But when he's when those guys are locked in the mistakes are, you know, they're they're likely to get hit hard brazos Thermo. Okay. Yeah. He's fun. Yeah. Say I thought he was safe. You know, it we had a bunch of those last year where it's, you know, you're you're wondering what are we doing? What are we looking at? And what does it take to call overturned? So I don't I'm not sure Alan confused me. At chase. Licensed game action. Him. I thought chase through the ball. Very well. So I mean, especially the second inning. I thought he started got good gone. Fastballs started going to the right spots. The spun the ball, really good. So. It's what I expected I wasn't necessarily concern. I think we'll have to see how you know. I think the key really is how does he bounce back? That's that's probably the most important thing about tonight is when is he feel like he can really go out there and do it again. Freddie, going asteroid Acadia the cover of Tony. Yeah. This guy. We did you know. We get through the sixth and it's a one run game. And it's you know, we're we're in a pretty good spot. You know, we're we're we're in a good good good shape for tomorrow. But now Matt Albers came into a tough spot. And now we got out of it. Just giving up one run a nice job. You're throwing a lot of guys out there. And a lot of guys going gonna have a good night. Ryan's homework was a big moment. See Flaherty relate taking his time. Yeah. The whole game. Everybody was taking their time. I think. That's probably should strike that from the record. From Ryan swing. Yeah. No. I mean, it's. Look, I mean, it is specially look in behind Christian is going to be a big challenge. And you're going to have lots of spots like that. And he's he's definitely capable of it. But it's getting off to a good start is always a good feeling and take making a swing change. And then producing some results in the first couple games is good feedback for him to know that it's some that's gonna stick because you've seen for so long. How can you best describe the change? You know, I think it's really a change to you know, I I noticed the change in ball flight and batting practice. That's the best way to describe it for me. How I see it. His intent is to be able to cover more parts of the strike zone. And maybe different parts of the strike zone that he thinks he's being he's been pitched to a law, and I think. So that's. You're starting from a very talented header. So it's a good place to start. But that's that's Indian any attention just to get. In and through in the zone and stay in his own longer. Like like every hidden wants to do bruise manager Craig council meeting with the media just a little while go downstairs here at Miller park brewers fall to the cardinals by a nine five score. How did it all go down? We'll tell you what the highlights. That's next brewers extra innings rolls on in a moment on WTMJ. I'm Dr Jefferson's Goto with ACH wave centers along with Dr a wasted. It's like going to the dentist when I go to the dentist. I don't floss. Do want. You want him to see how it's going to be. Hey, this is this is me take it or leave it ducks doing right now is the equivalent of showing somebody your house having your house appraised and going through in fixing all the cracks. The crack is still there each just you filled it in with plaster, and you covered it up. So that the inspector doesn't see this is this is a life change a life choice and a lifestyle change. How many times have you made this lifestyle change this one? This was pretty easy. Actually, this was not too bad. I've been been doing the intermittent fasting, which did you notice he didn't answer my question. How many times have you made a lifestyle change? And committed to it. No. That's what I'm saying two thousand seventeen two thousand sixteen two thousand fifteen fourteen and look and look where I would be if I didn't do at least at least month. I'd probably be plus three hundred fifty s again, dude, I'm I'm happy. I haven't been to fifties in a long time, then your linebacker now. You're no longer on the offensive line. Goes you get down to twenty. I wanna be down at two hundred twenty pounds by the end of the year. That's where I'm at. That would be gosh I'd have to make a lifestyle. Trimmings. No, I'm not going to drink grass trimmings picked him up some the other day. You hate vegetables. I don't know. Yeah. Not a big fan of the vegetable I'll eat broccoli in some things like that. But, you know, corn maybe, but no green peppers or you're welcome to come. With me. To the mayo clinic on Monday if you want. No, no, you don't wanna know. What's going on inside? You know? It's a lot better. Not to know. Don't you think? Yes. I agree. I mean, it's like. It's like you drive your car around. And yes, it squeaks a little bit. I didn't need to know that it needs a fifteen hundred dollar repair because it's still drives me from point to point B. But what if something is this something that you could catch early that's wrong? And if you work on it now, it's going to. You're talking common sense. I get it. But you just don't want to know. Actually kinda nervous about it. Because I've never done. I've always gotten physicals check the blood. You see where you're at. But I've never done something like this where it's an all day. You know, they're they're checking everything they're doing. What do you? Call ultrasounds and go to hear pregnant. The heartbroken civility. I. You get to hear the heartbeat a debate school. So we'll see that's going to be fine. Nervous about it. I'm not gonna lie. You know, you go in there. First thing in the morning and take your urine and blood samples, and the nice thing is it's all day. And you get all the results that day. So they like instant. So then you beat with the doctors, and they tell you where you should be in what you're doing. And what's good? What's bad? And so, yeah, I'll I'll have to see how that goes it took wind up being a two day appointment. It could be it's seven months out there seven months out for it. It's called the executive physical, and it it took me seven months. I think it was back in June. Is when I but I missed the first available date was was Monday. So yeah, I'm looking I'm looking forward to people come from all around the world to to go there. I mean, we we take for granted in our in our own backyard and Scottsdale here, we have one of the best hospitals in the world know, the male clinic is is renowned. It's it's unbelievable. So yes, I'm very nervous about it. But I'm excited also to see where I where I sit and what I did to do in order to to be healthier. All right. Putting a note on the calendar. Do not come into work on Tuesday. Either that or he's gonna wind up because he's been doing it for the last month. The snacks are horrible dot com. Yeah. So so lucky I bought by snacks. I buy snacks for the office. I don't participate. I haven't eaten any. Pretty darn good. No, they're they're dried broccoli chips. No, those are the veggie straws over g struts wonderful. I thought California was bad from going from plastic to paper. We veggie strode about the string cheese you like to string cheese. I haven't tried the string cheese. Yeah. What's as the right? That as a kid. I would eat some of that. I just had to go first time yesterday. And it was delicious. Wonderful. If you need about forty of them. That's the problem. I went over to Doug's house the other day, and he was he literally was counting down until he could eat a string cheese one. And not only that. But he kept asking me. How long has it been since? I went pee last time. I'm like about ten minutes. He said, okay. I gotta go again. Yeah. He was detoxing. See this whole system. Yeah. I'm I'm trying to be in the best shape as I possibly can going forward. So I've been drinking a gallon. You are in the best shape round. Speaking. Did you at a couple of bucks? Fast. Speaking of detoxing, here's something you need to do before your physical need to drink sixteen ounces of celery juice, sixteen ounces of celery, juice. It completely cleans you out. And I mean, cleans you out. I don't know. I don't want to be playing there. We've got about a minute left here where we got coming up on the shelf. We're gonna talk about real estate. What's going on? I got some good stories to tell you been tell you what we been buying a lot of houses. January seems to be the month that people like to move. Absolutely. Our leads are going through the roof. I mean, they're Chris our guy who gets the phone is Suzy hangs up one. Another one's coming in. And he's got he's got to four. "There's a mastro's not too far from us heading over postgame. Tony. Yeah. I think we need to get a reservation and get a steak. Good sides. Drink or so let it we do that. After wanted a good football game back in your old stomping grounds, retired all American at USC back in his home stadium. First and ten from the twenty nine yard line. Rams moving left to right hand off the girl running right down to the thirty four yard line. After a gain of fire by MacKenzie. Alexandra a huge hole right there. That's a good. I downplay right behind mitt, right? Tackle David Stein. And he just completely clears out that side and allows Todd Gurley to get up in there for good pickup. Gurley. Scored Rams first touchdown. Got twenty five yards on five carries second down five as we approached five minutes remaining in the second quarter here in Los Angeles. Vikings lead by three. From the thirty four yard line offer fake to curly. Grows to the left side catches made by Cooper cop. Patty, broke the first tackle by Santer. Picks up a first down take it out of bounds along the far sideline for cop batches for as he closes in on a hundred yards. Here are the first half. And they're picking up the pace again Kenny immediately Jared Goff gives the signal to get to the line of scrimmage. They wanna play fast. First in ten forty five yard line following the sixteen yard pickup by Cup. Goth fakes the hand off to curly sets was about to get hit. He throws a flag wide open. As Robert watch inside the twenty five hundred twenty cackled at the. Yard line of the Vikings by trae wage again. We'll check in with the referee. Brad Allen forty one yard pass play looks like it's against the Vikings. What a great route, by Robert woods. He goes up to the top of the route. And put the little shimmy. On. Hoving defense number twenty. The first down. Mckinsey alexander. He's not involved, but his trae Wayne's trae wings just gets frozen at the top of the route his feet stop gets turned around. And then it's an income by Robert woods, and he is wide open. So the Rams inside the red show. I in the nineteen backfield girly what out to the right? Railing the Vikings by three under four play second quarter. Now curly they fake the jet. Sweep Gebo should the backfield cop willing to us? Right. Looking throws to the end zone. Touchdown. Second touchdown of the second quarter eighteen yard can actually Jared. What? Catch. Naked boot. Right. He's got all kinds of pressuring Kenny when he releases the I think he's throwing it away. Cop has double covered and the ball is thrown into the back corner pylon. Cup comes up with it against two defenders of the Vikings. It adds the extra point a spectacular. First-half? Four cooper. His second touchdown has five receptions, gene yards. A four point seventy one yard drive Rams with touchdowns three of their four possessions back on top twenty one seventeen. And it's not that defense. I mean, you got Mike us back there. The rookie at a UCF trae Wade's both covering Cooper cut, and he's just on a corner route running that back pylon and as Jared Goff scrambling to his right as I said earlier, I thought he's throwing it away. And just throws it to a spot. And somehow it gets by bolt defenders Mike has his hands in there. It'd be tweet Cooper Cup and the ball, but Cooper cut wins. The battle third touchdown pass of this first half four Jared dot play football the NFL's year round initiative that celebrates youth and high school football and connects the football community through positive messages and experiences. Visit played football dot com. To learn more. Each team with points on three of their four possessions. They have both bucket just watch kicking off from left to right is thickened. Halted hill. Let it go through the end zone. The Viking stirred as Kirk cousins leaves the Minnesota offense back out onto the field with three forty seven remaining in the second quarter. How about the last three scoring drives? Rams go to play seventy five yards. Vikings three plays seventy five yards. And now the Rams four plays seventy one yards. It's all offense right now. It's all about the quarterbacks both quarterbacks at thrown for exactly one hundred ninety three yards each and both have quarterback rating over one fourth. Wow. Viking stock for their twenty-five. Cousins fakes the hand off to Mari under pressure gets rid of it catches paid by the tight end David Morgan and he's tackled at the twenty eight yard line by remake Wilson a gain of three in the key to this game right now is that both off its lines are doing a good job. Both quarterback. You're clean. Trying to think back to this first quarter. I mean this first half the each team only has one pressure. No real quarterback hits the quarterbacks men on the ground and give the credits offense align, and it's really allowing these. The passing game for both teams. Check it out at seven from the shotgun. Cousins to the near side. He came back to Catholic bounce office hands so down in seven upcoming for the Vikings. You talk about the Minnesota offense for left to right Roddy. Reef Tom Compton. Pat L flight his first start since the NFC championship game by remers had Rashad hill. And they were really. Disparage this week. It's a short week they're happy with this week. And because you look at the numbers, basically Kirk cousins was pressured every other play against the bills. And so they wanted to make a right so far they are right? They wanted to get right back out there out at seven plus get to the thirty five cousins under pressure floors nearside along the left sideline of the catches bay by Adam Phelan got both feet down picks up. A I doubt out of the thirty six yard line as the Vikings the chains. I just don't think I'm doing a good enough job of describing what we're seeing right now we have two quarterbacks playing an extremely high level that was not terrible coverage by Sam shield, but that ball is thrown outside in the perfect place along the sideline. Why did the sticks were there's no chance for the defendant to make a point perfect throw by Kirk cousins who sat down for Minnesota. I ten thirty six yard line two and a half to play second quarter off the fake Tamari cousins rolling, right? Under pressure. Can't throws it away to his right. As a boot camp was it is and we've mentioned his name at least three or four times tonight rows it naked boot camp. Does a good job of keeping contained works up the field. Kirk cousins actually at time. Digs was the shallow crosser. And he's covered up perfectly. And what Kirk cousins wanted to do you wanna root off on the deep crossing route, and he pull the trigger. But Josh Johnson the safety was right there. Smart move by crossings to throw it away. Second in ten thirty six yard high. Vikings moving right to left late second quarter with the Rams leading twenty one seventeen. Cousins had to get off Murray hesitation laggers throat as takes it out to the forty three yard line tackle three archive the marker pie Johnson. And once again, we'll check in with the referee. Brad Allen throw right in the holding territory. Hold against the Vikings. Holding offense number sixty five ten yard penalty down. Senator Al flight. They brought the run Wade Phillips said I've I've had enough of this. We're gonna come after be aggressive. Marcus Peters off the edge all three linebackers, and it looked like for a second. They blocked it up pretty good because. Latavius Murray's gets up to the first level was a nice pickup. But they got the center line rapid jersey. Vikings third penalty Rams have not been flagged at least they haven't had an accepted penalty as we hit the two minute warning were in Los Angeles..

So it's an excellent grid that we've got here this year for the two CV twenty four hour race. This is the the twenty eighth liquidity to see twenty four hours Louis back to you. Thanks day Tony. Yes, that we've got the three euro cargo the really fast year recounts the BMW pod cars on the on the front row. Then Rudy tank in the wheel to start with second alongside them is the team is. The one of the the euro counts when grove rising, Matthew Cobb, starting there, there is, I got mixed to him where one of the meanings is not started. So if Josh around Josh will try to look for countable one, seven one, which was the first of the minis which is medium, which is Alex Jones born and only think Barron, carriage, eleven before we go there Louis you can hear me. Okay, great wave all posts. It's a pizza. Spy repeat. You won the championship this year gave one inch rights, many times looking forward to the race. Oh, I'm sure. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Hey, me just nip in the pit line, we've got one seven one who should have been started on the second row, but the mini obviously which is going to be stopped by Alex Osborne hasn't made it is underneath the end of the pay, the Brit tax creeper liveried car. Say. Oy can go back free. This is and Alex would have been on pole position for the minis and Josh is gonna have to get in with the old microphone and going ask the question why a, but we were just talking about this before we came on air. The pit line is open, but it's only for a certain number of some portion of the time. I always I said, we always get one stuck in the pit line. And today it's the turn of Alex in the one seven one mini. So that issues there, nobody you, Josh, some Alex down here in the pay. Any reason you're not on the great. Well, we come in just to change on the couch because it was. They said, we can't go back out his screen to go out when it's back out some reason, but we'll just stop from his problem is the twenty four hour race. It's a long one, so they won't be nice to get out of the at the start. So look at the positives. So I guess the first part of the race be working your way pasta with the TC vs I soon be cracking in.
