"Tony Stewart when he took over Stuart Haas racing, but I think Justin marks is definitely in the team photo and that's been a great story this year. Well, one of the things that we've been following as well, coming into the season, what impact would the new car make? You know, we hit hitting the reset button. We heard that from the garage. We heard that from the industry. What team would jump in there? Because we heard a lot of, well, we're going to level the playing field with this new car. Now, we had talked a lot of people off the ledge that when you hear that, all of a sudden a 30th place car is going to become, you know, the winner of multiple races. But what I do think this has done is just provided opportunity. And I think just to mark through the culture they're track house through Ross Chastain through Daniel Suarez and all that they put together and all the people like Thai and everybody part of the process, they put together a solid team. Yes, you need good parts and pieces. You need fast race cars. You need good race car drivers, but you also need good mechanics and pit crew members and all that. And I think that when you look at everything that's put together collectively, that's what spelling the success for track house, I have been surprised by it. I know Pete has some of our listeners have been as well, but it's also refreshing to see that you do have these new faces in victory lane and these new faces that are consistently in the top 5 and the top ten more times and they're not this year. Well, I'll tell you what, one thing that's really impressed me about track house racing is you look at how the season starts. You go back to the clash of the coliseum, Ross Chastain didn't even advance to the final race. And then in the Daytona 500, he's involved in a crash and finishes last, so what a horrible way to start the season. But I'll tell you about one thing that interests me is something you said Pete, you use the word underdog with track house racing. And I guess the question is, should we even look at track house racing as an underdog at this point? I mean, three wins. They've got the same amount as Joe Gibbs Racing as Team Penske, only Hendrick motor sports has more wins as an organization this season with 5 and you think about, okay, it's hendrik Joe Gibbs Racing Team.

"A little bit of sound was one of the drivers that took part in the all star race Sunday Night if you want to hear a little bit more of two drivers with opinions. I would tune in on Thursday, 6 o'clock, the day of junior down hold, no other than Denny Hamlin's gonna join junior. I'm a what would they talk about? I mean, what could possibly be the topic of conversation? You know, timing is important in life. Yes, it is. So you will not want to miss 6 p.m. Thursday, Denny Hamlin joins the download and here you go. Here's Danny has the same, never should have been a yellow in the first place, but blaming this situation to make up for it. He feels that they broke a rule two wrongs don't make a right. That was just on Twitter, so now they gotta get together and talk about it, Dale junior, he had an opinion that they were gonna let you debate one to try to avoid the other. So I suggest tuna name. On Thursday and here are these two talk about it live and in person. You know something that I've noticed and I found this out because I thought maybe it was only me when I went down to del junior's and did it a couple of years ago, but you end up feeling so comfortable in that situation that you say things that you think later, maybe I shouldn't have gone there exactly. And I don't know if you've experienced that, but it's like you just sit there, I mean it's like God sitting around and that's what they want it to be and what it is, but you sit around the next thing you know you said things that maybe you wish you had kept inside, but I think this could get really certain. If that's true, I'm gonna text Denny right now and telling he shouldn't go. All right, well listen, we've given all our opinions. Let's hear some of the fans opinions. We're gonna go to the phone lines. Ray, you're up. Hi, guys. So Ryan Blaney is coming to the checkered flag. Flag man has it out. He's waving it. For a hundred years, over a hundred years, we've all been taught. Check and flag signaling the end of the race. However, if the lights are official, why are we still waving a checkered flag? Why are we keeping up a charade signaling the end? Because Ryan Blaney got a hundred feet. He sees the checkered flag out. He's coming thinking the race is over. And then he sold it's not. He's dropping a basic reaction. I understand. Can we just get rid of it? Just have the light. That's all I'm saying, because the officials are putting out something that's not official in the checkered law. Hold on. And by the way, we get rid of the checkered flag. I might have a hard time. So let's back up for just a moment. He's waving a checkered flag because he's way better to check a flag because he the winning cars coming to the start finish line. He's waving the checkered flag. They then throw the caution. He quits waving a yellow flag. I'm Chris waving the checkered flag and the caution light comes on. Even if he was still waving the checkered flag, it wouldn't have mattered. The lights are what matter. When the cost of light comes on, even if he's waving to check her. Because it was already being put out there. But he sees him 300 yards coming. And so that's what he's signaling. Yeah. What happened? He wasn't going to mention not to mention the other 36 weeks of the year, the white would have been good enough. I don't have the high grass and go that far back to it. Yeah. The flame didn't do anything wrong. The flag waving to check her. And now the caution is out. He's being told caution. He's like pulls the checker back. I know what else you could do. That was pretty impressed reaction time. I wouldn't get the yellow out there. I even know this that far. As well. But yeah, listen, if you talk about getting rid of the checkered flag, that was that hurt my heart. We can't be getting rid of the checkered flag. You know? I understand that there's reasons to be olives can have different reasons to be upset the way that it was done. You know, we don't need to go to the extreme here. Yeah, it was an all star race. Fortunately it happened there. And hopefully, things are going to be learned, and we won't run into that situation. Obviously, in any points event, that's not going to be the case anyway. That might come out, but the race would have been over. Yeah, and listen, ray, call in, all the time. I'd love to have a question, man. Mike, you're on motor mouse. Thanks for taking my call. Yes, sir. What's your question? So first of all, I'd like to say, I totally agree with the mayor that these rules for the all star race need to be totally simplified to the fans can understand it. But I'd like to ask, what do you think they should do with the all star rates going forward? Should they continue what they're doing? Should they go back to Charlotte? Should they go to a stadium like they did for the class, tell me what you think? Thanks. That's great. And earlier in the show. We might not have enough time with this. Go ahead, real quick. What would you do with it? Yeah, there needs to definitely needs to be changes made. I'm going to give two scenarios. Either back to Charlotte because we don't need an ad another week. And there's nothing wrong with Texas, but if you're going to have it, make it a take this somewhere else. I even brought up you on a call today. Put them in equal cars. Ray Everett ham and Tony Stewart should do, put them in those cars. You know, take the Xfinity champion, truck champ. So let's make this just winners people, not having anything before that. My blank page, I know it sounds crazy, my blank pages don't bring the teams, don't get the teams involved and make it purely a vote like to do another sports. Maybe ten cup drivers, 5 20 drivers, 5 trucks, and go run the buggies like the championships, like just something different, where it could be fun. Showcase their skills, head to head, duel it out. I think it makes it more fun when it's a race. It's still really like their job. And I don't think they can have as much fun as they would if they weren't in their own cars. A lot of conversation about Marcus Smith and his team finding a way to take racing to the fairgrounds in Nashville. Oh, boy. Perfect place to put it. Sure. We should be this race..

"The Reaper? Believe it starts turn two and goes all the way pretty much to the entrance of turn 11. That's pretty much correct. So in 11, you're going to be on new pavement braking hard, but you're going to be on old people. But when you have to accelerate. Which seems a little dicey. Welcome to the ice show. Yeah, welcome to the ice shelf. 'cause you can drive it on down in there and carry that speed on down in, but if you can't use it coming off, you know, and that is that balance of road racing is being able to get into the corner, but still maintain that center corner speed, the apex speed, and maintain that speed up. Listen, when Tommy Kendall, when I'm a thousand years ago, when I broke my leg and Tommy Kendall drove my car, I was blown away. And how fast he was. And I was like, I was just in that car. There's no way that car can go faster than that. And he would just constantly constantly constantly. But he had that knack of driving it to the last second, breaking off the brake, rolling free and accelerating slow. And I couldn't. I was stock car drivers drive until you see God, then you let off. And then you go again. And that's kind of the way it was. You want one more head scratcher? A little bit bigger fuel cells, a little bit different fuel economy. How much fuel can you save with an extra gear in the transmission? I mean, the numbers in my head would be going. A lot. You've been up for two weeks. I've been texting you. You're gonna wait for two weeks, man. All right. Anthony, you're the next caller on motor mouse. Oh, hey guys, how's it going? Wonderful. How are you, sir? Anthony. Love doing really good myself. So I wanted to tell you guys who my favorite road racer is in NASCAR and this one's a no brainer. It's Jeff Gordon. And obviously it's due to the fact that he's the all time later and row courts went at 9. The only one to ever win on a roll course 6 times in a row and I'm 98% sure. It didn't bother Kyle penny and a few others who had to deal with it for almost three years when it did happen. Maybe not. Who knows? But yeah, you always bring great Sonoma, walk is Glenn, he was good there with four wins, but then he really struggled there the last 15 times he was there. I only managed two top tens and none of them were better than night. But regardless though he is and will always be the most successful road racer in my opinion. And you guys have a good rest of your day. Thank you. Andrew, one of our social media driver, do you want to watch? I was a big Jeff Gordon fan. I was on his team for most of those wins. He was good at it. There was no doubt about it. I'll add Tony Stewart from my era. Some great battles between Gordon and Stewart at the road courses KP. How about you when you think back to road course guys, you love to watch? Are you asking me? Yeah. I mean, I know you were in some of these races. So listen, yeah, listen, you can't deny Tony and JF and these guys. But listen, I wasn't going to say you were a different area. There's not a lot of different areas. I saw Dan gurney run riverside. When a race there. In 67, 68, right along in there. So I was fortunate to see those guys race. But at the same time, Tim Richmond, my man, hands down. We just didn't get a chance to see him for a long period of time. But he was magic on a road course and what he could do with a car and the way he handled it. You know, I think people look at Kyle Busch now and say, if they looked at if they had seen Tim Richmond, it's like, that's a totally different level. Kyle Busch is as close to anything as Tim Richmond as we have. But rusty was good. Martin was good. Terry Labonte was good. Those guys were just sleepers. I know you got one. You got a good one over there? Well, obviously Gordon and Stewart, just like your list. And I never got to see Tim Richmond, sadly. I would have loved to have seen Dan gurney. I'm telling you, talk about a guy who was just aces at riverside, won 5 out of 7 cup races, I believe with the Wood Brothers. Formula One. Yeah, yeah. One 21. That's what amazed me. The car number was one 21 when I saw him. And I'm like, you can't have three numbers on this stuff. You can't have three numbers on a stock car, man. It was bad to the bone. Well, after the break, we're going to get the next guy, the winner's opinion. William Byron will join us last time about the car, Atlanta, coda, maybe we'll have a fan calling there he is the man. Feature winner. Thundering down to the line. White flag is out doing Byron continues to hold on. What is going to push the law? It's going to be ready to block..

"Exactly right. Exactly. Yeah, so we've endowed this down this road before Brad and I of course have had several businesses. And like you, about a year ago, obviously not in racing, but decided, hey, I don't know why during the pandemic. I was like, I'm gonna start a new company, so I got together with Goldberg and a couple of friends of ours and started a beverage company. And it's a lot of that. It's like the money we're raising to bring it in and then everything that we're buying and delays and supply chain issues and we can't get stuff and half our just to give you an example, we got aluminum cans for our product and our aluminum cans because of this whole truck driver issue and the things that are going on. We've been delayed we've been delayed a year, but we've been delayed the last four weeks because we couldn't find the cans. The truck driver just took the truck, parked it, locked it, took the keys and left and never came back to work again as part of a protest. Eventually we found the truck. Contacted the trucking company, and we literally had to send a guy, we had a fly a guy out, he busted the lock off the back of the truck, unloaded the cans into another truck and started driving them to Iowa where we're making a product right now. I was like, what exactly interstate hijacking run? I was like, I don't understand what this is. Is this soprano's? Is this the wire? How is this a real thing, right? So I hope you documented all that. I was like, should he be wearing a GoPro camera the whole time? They're like, we're not sure we want this documented. And I was like, okay, but just the phone calls in the emails and the texts that I get. And like you're saying just day and night, if people go on, we've got a solution. We're getting a guy out there with bolt cutters to get into the back of the truck. I was like, how is this a real thing? This isn't like a new business we just started a minute ago, right? And have you seen the Mark Wahlberg documentary that I'm not sure what channel it's on? Yeah, it's a documentary that he started that shirt company, some other things on the side and it went right into the pandemic like the film and right when the pen it's a great series. I saw it on the airplane. And I forget what it's called, but it's Mark Wahlberg and it's a great example of what happened like you and people that started something and then the pandemic hit right in the middle of it. Yeah, the whole thing is nuts. So hopefully, first of all, hopefully, most of everything you're using is made in the U.S. because that does help. And I'll tell you the help and advice from friends is invaluable. And when you think about it, is prudent building a race team or anyone building a race team in the 60s. They're kind of just going through it and going, we're not exactly sure how this process works. We're not sure where the parts are coming from or what to pay the people and how to handle it. And that's going to grow over time. The same thing when we were putting together our company. We try to call and get advice from the best people in the business. And even then they're constantly going, oh yeah, well, you know, this fell off the truck, quote, unquote, right? So now a palette of someone's product is missing. Just missing. I'm sure someone's drinking it. We just don't know where it is. And financially, we're all screwed on the deal, but there's a lot there. So the question getting back to when you sit down with Schumacher and you say, hey, I think now is the time, I'm going to go out on my own. I'm going to build my team. How does that conversation go? What Schumacher's reaction to that? Well, I told him, Andy, which was our last race before playoffs, which we call the countdown to the championship. It's also indie's their biggest race. It's our Super Bowl it's the U.S. nationals. But I want to let him know as early as I knew that I was going to start looking at some things and going out on my own. I didn't want to wait the last minute and have word get out. I wanted to be straight up and honest with them. And I also want to be Frank. If I got a deal because I was already working on a couple of things that were maybes, I wanted the word to get out. So at least some people in sponsors knew with some lead time and not right at this scene, you know, as you know, a lot of businesses have their money tied up for the following year, already done. So I want to a couple reasons. Let the word get out. I want to let Don know early. And if I did get a deal, I wanted to look at what it would take to bring it and run it out of the same area that I had been for the last 17 years, which right at DSR, the great hospitality. You guys have both been there. Good people working there. The chassis that were built by our in-house shop, my life relies on, but a great success within one lot of races, one, two championships. So I wanted to keep that going. It was mass exodus. You mentioned Tony Stewart. Yeah, Antoine Brown. But he had four funny cars four dragsters just a few years ago, and now Tony Stewart took two teams antron Brown was leaving and now here I was leaving. He's down to one car. That wasn't even a for sure, but Tony Schumacher, we now know as driving that one. That's right. So now he's down to one team. So I just, for a lot of reasons like that, I wanted to sort of get the word out as quick as I could. And that was a free agent anyway at the end of the year. And honestly,.

"Keep it to survive. And then when you do make an announcement, when antron Brown makes an announcement when Leo makes an announcement to do the team with Tony Stewart, what you find is you find the other team owners the other racers going, I'd like to reach out and offer some help because we can't imagine this sport without you. You're such an important part of what we do out here. And that means a lot, right? When John Forrest says, hey, caps. You know, fantastic congratulations. Go out on your own. Be a team owner. Let me know what I can do to help, right? You've got to be a part of this. So let me make sure I can offer something so this doesn't fail. That this keeps moving forward for you. And like you said, purdom, who hasn't been in a car in forever. I don't know that he's even owned a team in quite some time, but still just very active as a cheerleader for the sport. Like you were saying about John force as well. Just an advocate for the sport. Where is it going to go? Forces never not going to be at the track. Right? Hope not. Yeah. And snake was the first one I called when I knew I had the letter of intent. I wanted to give back because he picked me out of a litter of a ton of people that I thought were way better, bigger names. And he picked me to drive that funny car. Just kind of he said he was watching me in the dragster. I was a rookie and top fuel and just part time race and for roger pram, but he was watching out with carried myself and how I drove in the car and my interviews. And that was huge to get picked by DOM Peron. I can't even tell you. I mean, I was playing this hot wheels. We all probably did. Yeah. And so he was the first one I called and said, hey, I want you to have a place to come back out. Yeah, he comes to Pomona every year. He lives close. He lives down by me. But I want you anytime you come out. I want you to come out and give advice, hang out. But I don't want you to have to work and have that aggravation because when I stop driving for him, there was a lot of aggravation going on with his teams and sponsors and just I could see it. It was eating away at him and he just didn't enjoy it. And so I said, hey, just come hang out. Just enjoy yourself, go to the starting line, have a place to hang out. Be if you want to give advice, ownership wise, give advice if not, you want to just chill and have people out and hang out and do the snake thing, hang out. And that was the first phone call I made. And since then, I mean, his wife Lynn, who did a lot of probably a lot of the success that he had was lend for dome behind the scenes. She's been very, very helpful when just things you don't think about. You know, insurance on the trucks and the rigs going down the road. You got to pay all this. There's a lot going on behind. And I thought there was. I had no idea. So that was cool. And really snake being able to hang out and just chill. I got to tell you, I was getting on Thanksgiving Day and I won't tell you who the owner is. He was calling and texting a pretty big name in NASCAR about being involved in helping me be able to buy my team by it outright by the rigs and on Thanksgiving Day. And I was like, this is amazing. It was cool that he was really wanting to get that involved to help because he said, I just don't want to hang out. I want to help a little bit or bring a deal and I said, hey, that's even better, man. But so I'm looking forward to having, you know, just knowing that he gave me my first shot. Not just a shot, but a huge shot. I mean, it was a big deal. It was rockstar for me to be picked by him and I'll never forget it. When you told snake that you were going to start your own team, what was this an issue reaction? Was it, why'd you wait so long? Oh my God. It was like, hey, I thought you were never going to make this call. I thought you were never going to tell me. It's been a minute. It's been 27, 28 years. Why didn't you do this a while ago or, you know? Or was he just like, hey, now is the time? Yeah, he laughed. He goes, you don't know what you're getting into. But you know, he's always said, you know, I've been watching. You're going to be fine. Everybody loves you. You do well. You do the right stuff and really a lot of I learned from him, taking care of sponsors and the way that he carried himself. But he kept laughing. He goes, you are in for a lot. And so when you hear a guy like that, say it, you're like, oh, I better, I better button up the boots a little tighter because this is gonna be this is gonna be a hard ride and it has been, but we're here. It's crazy that a lot of sleepless nights, this past winter time. Now I have a payroll almost a $1 million of payroll and these kids with babies on the way and you just don't think about all that stuff. And now I woke up this morning, you know, 4 a.m., wondering about this, one of our crew guys is their babies do in March, we're at the gator nationals. I want to give them time off to be there for his first baby and then you start thinking, oh my God, I gotta make this work. They rely on it. They got a baby coming and just things I never really imagined. And that's what people do forget. Is that behind everything, it's a business. And with a lot of moving parts and that's where you've got to have that ultimate multitasker where you can do all that, run and then the minute you roll up to the line that all goes away and you focus on the track, right? Yeah. Just for three seconds. Just for three seconds, then you go and more, then you go worry about it again. It sounds easy, right? Yeah, sounds easy. Even as you start to put all of this stuff together that's like physically in front of you and you're like, okay, trailers are coming in and car parts are coming in, tools are coming in. Then you've got to sit down with the lawyer. You got to sit down with the tax guy and we're like, what are we buying? What are we leasing? What are we writing off? How do we make that work? What's the best way to do it? Before we throw out. Before we just like, hey, we got a check coming in from a sponsor. Now we need to gear up with our stuff. But exactly how do we get that stuff are we buying it? Are we leasing it? Are we doing some other program for it? And is there a sponsors involved on some of the stuff that we're getting and what does that mean? And then what do we give them in return? And is it partial cash and partial promotion for those sponsors? It's like, I feel like you just jump inside my head for the last two months. Yeah. Man. That's exactly right. Exactly. Yeah, so we've endowed this down this road before Brad and I of course have had several businesses. And like you, about a year ago, obviously not in racing, but decided, hey, I don't know why during the pandemic. I was like, I'm gonna start a new company, so I got together with.

"That spot. Now we see non playoff drivers there. Dale junior and I won, there's a non playoff driver. But we were never in a position to never race anybody where we had to contend the spot. We had a little new tires by Tony Stewart. Matter of fact, Dylan, I had this conversation on the ride home. Jeff Gordon was closing. And Dale said, one reason why I went by Tony with such force. By flaming by the way, is because I knew my teammate. Needed to win this race to advance. And if he got to my bumper and moved me, I had no recourse. I knew he didn't say if he passed me. He said, if he got to my left rear and sent me up the racetrack with two to go with the playoffs on the line, he was like, yeah, what's Rick gonna say? He's like, that man, he's in the playoffs. He's trying to move forward, like, you were the guy he had to get around? Like that would have been, quote, acceptable. So we raced knowing he can not get to our left rear. Flip that, right? Now, a non playoff guy drove with such tenacity to win a race, not his first career win, not as first of the year. His fourth win of the year, I don't want to discount the specialness of a win because it's huge. And I want them to race for wins. But that's the question in my mind. He drove so far into the corner that he lost control of his vehicle and wrecked a playoff guy. I'm confident Alex Bowman didn't know if he was good on points or not good on points, like he didn't know any of that. Now fortunately for Denny Hamlin, he was, but what happens if he wasn't? One happened if that would have been the move that limited for playoffs, would people have a different view? Same action different result when people have a different opinion. Those are all the things I question, right? There's a lot that goes into these decisions. Well, Alex Bowman felt as if he was justified because ham wanted taken him out at Texas the previous year and apologized for it. So he's like, hey, the shoe's already been on the other foot. And he also felt because the lab four 78 restart, Bowman took the lead after getting into him a little bit. And then just you guys said on the broadcast, I think, Burton was like, oh my God, he's getting over. He was Dale junior said it just he'd pulled out of the way and let Denny.

"Or is he just somewhere in a league of his own. I think he got for answering the question of a controversial opinions. So i want the the hall of famers take and this has been a topic of some debate in the last couple of weeks since colorado won the knoxville nationals. Iowa there have been those andrey together since guys who could just jump in anything pavement dirt open wheel stock cars and win. Is it too early to consider. Colorado guy wasn't a cup championship to put him in that kind of league. I don't think it's too early in. My opinion said the other week that i compare him. If i if. I'm looking at somebody in the most. Recent would be tony stewart. And i think that he takes it to another level because he's doing this while he's winning the most races in the nascar season leading the points at this particular time and is the odds on favorite to be the champion at the end of the year. So tony fistula. But he's also crossing over going winning the biggest racist in these dirt races. So i'm not sure. Tony did that while he was doing his nascar being that much. So and my comparison to for tony stewart when he was racing was i compared him. I said he's the modern day. A j foyt so then. I could make that comparison with kyle larson. Whatever it gets doesn't matter where it is and what it's about he's going to go give it his best shot and he's gonna win more times and he's not so. I think it's a great comparison and we need to talk about. I think that that diversity certainly helps to to build not only a fan base but it helps does this. Show the the nascar fans that. Hey this guy can drop anything anytime anywhere. We're not used to seeing drivers of his caliber on team. Like have the opportunity to go run all these different races. I know there's a lot of cup drivers who expressed interest in other series and have been held back for one reason or another by their team so So it has been really a lot of fun to watch all right margaret margaret. Are you there. Yeah this is marvin. How are you guys. Great you so much for calling in. I no problem First of all my thoughts and prayers she is in the loss is your buddy routed miller He's gonna be missed by so many but we're heading tone of pretty expending voice and with four races. Who in that Playoff any uc getting a victory or advantage at the clone of this friday night. That's a good reminder. Even though it's we're looking to lock in the final playoff spot in the cup series we still have some some racist to go on the xfinity series side so that race also. I mean just unpredictable and a number of different winners their past. Does anyone stand.

"The racetrack to talk to her about that and she remember me so that was remembers me as a kid so that was cohen to talk into the window. Scott family and being able to let them tell their story so the coffee would cow for me is is much about cow patties history in the sport and what cow petty wants to know about that time and wants to remember about that time so. I'm glad that people like people in the industry like that's what's cool to meet people in racing that i talked to that. No mike helton that. No tony stewart. The no roger penske and my dad. They like it and that means a lot. Has that helped. You understand the concept of sometimes. Just shut up and listen because like maybe you'll have that follow up question right. Yeah yeah you know. i'm listen. I'm a talker. I've been a talker. Since the first grade. I thought school was social event. Now i never knew had to learn when you were there for the first grade on. I thought that's what it was. So i've spent a lot of my time running my mouth not listening as much as i should have but it does when you're the one that's asking the question you have a tendency to shut up because you want to hear the answer and you have a tendency to listen and hang on every word and that's taught me a lot added that has really helped me over the last few years especially i know take took me a long time or this dog. Learn some new tricks but to listen to what somebody's saying. And then just try to find that door to go out to that question to another question but then i can come back to where i'm at so Yet it does make you listen a lot more as you said a few minutes ago if interviewing people with nbc major nervous at first you had to really get used to that. What about when this concept comes along when coffee with kyle comes along..

"He points at the surface of the race track. That will tell us how hot the race track is and that helps him determine how he wants to set my tire pressures and he pointed the temperature gun inside my car and it was one hundred and fifty degrees inside the car. So you're sweating like crazy. In fact. I think tony stewart. Who's retired now. But he was one of the famous nascar drivers He they did an experiment with him where he Would they weighed him before. And after a race and he lost ten pounds of of sweat like water waves. people always ask on. That's one of the common questions. I got when i was raising. Do you ever have to go to the bathroom during those long races. And i'm like no. You're sweating it all out. He would never have to pee in the race card. Because you're sweating crazy. Don't do you have the bill so typically in the racist you did along. Were you in the car..

"Here serious. I'm just glad you stood up for yourself. You deserve all proud you know. I think that that means a lot to chase. 'cause tony stewart had. He said it's one of his idols. Once again tours. So i guess. Take me into briscoe and danny and let's pass the penalty now. We're talking about the contact and the spin. Okay let's let's tony stewart's comment. I'm sure that has a lot to do with tony stewart. Probably i talked to him. But i would imagine tony stewart feels like number one chase ramwell all day number two. He drove into turn one in position to take the lead and got run off the racetrack. So if you're the car you're like what is my job. Yeah he's got a right. So i don't think tony's defendants spinning him out. I don't think sony him out. But so i think that's what tony's comments about right but backed up back to hamlin like if i'm denny hamlin like i didn't do anything wrong like i drove into turn wonder somebody on the inside of me i i what am i going to do. I can't run him off the track. If i'm doing hamlin you know. I'm mad because the race got taken away from me from a guy that's getting. Yeah i think he. I'm surprised you didn't expresses anger a little more. I think he did later. I think i think your comment on that. That was all starting to come out but dinnie handling they. They call that race perfectly. They didn't work fast enough to win race and they called it perfectly to put himself in position when race and he's sitting there in great opportunity win race did a great job taking advantage of all that and he just read. There's no chase briscoe team. I mean. I don't think we've right risk race. A lot not known did it on purpose but again when you're that young guy that win is right in front of you. You tend to push a little harder than maybe you should've and that's what happened there so i won't lie i in my mind as i heard denny's interview i just kept seeing him. Run into chase martinsville and spend an amount when he sounds like my my point is i don't know if it's a more mature danny if it's car owed any it doesn't really matter because in the end like he gets its control it and have it whatever comments he wants but any of the brickyard that's three of the last five that he has been i mean but you know what all doors i think about and as we as we set here and i'm listening to what you guys were saying too i think chase and any both and we talk about dinnie being a little bit more upset after you had an opportunity to think about it i'm betting. Aj was more excited after he had to think about it. You know what i'm saying. I think everybody. I think everybody was just stunned. I i i think i think dinnie stunned did. He was spun from the lee from a guy who is going to be penalized. How do i process this for risk. Stunned you know because he spun danny and he was going to be penalized. What about done right. That's right and then you got. Aj standing in victory lane thinking. How did i end up here. So i mean those.

Buzz in nashville here is part one with a thrill from west hill. Paul tracy on race line radio. But let's talk about your your most recent endeavour the the rx series the superstar racing experience at tony stewart and ray ever and ham put together But all in all it looked like you and everybody else was having a whole lot of fun. Would that be accurate. While i mean it started out as the you know you're all you're all happy and smile before and after the race. You're always i'd you hit me. It gets it gets real serious real fast. I had a great time really enjoyed myself. I got to experience something that i've never experienced in my life and that's the culture of the short tracks. Yeah easter yup You know a much different environment when you come up and you go racing and Most court and shannon ville. And then you get to indy lights in your racing at big race indycar races. And you're an indycar driver and you're you know you're flying around on private planes and staying motorhomes or nice hotels. The life of the short-track seen is is real grind. These guys are racing three four nights a week live out of motor homes and trailers. And they're going place to place and working in parking. Lots of truck stops cars never sprint car guys and these late model guys. These are grace the modified all over the place. I got to know these drivers. That that came. In as ringers. And understand what their their life is about versus what mine was about air shift. It's a totally different thing. And it was a great experience. You what a what a guy like you guys. That do this. And i've been doing it for so long and you talk about you know. The outlaws late model legend that scott blumquist is and how long he's been around and driving dirt tracks right across north america for god knows i don't know how many years thing what was the most surprising thing other than the fact that it is a grinding. Your what what. What was the one thing that may be humbled you at the right word to use. Maybe yeah i learned a lot just watching how these guys drive. Those cars watched a lot of youtube when we went to the dirt tracks. Obviously i've watched scott sure watch these and it's hard to translate a I think the guys in the open-wheel guys myself. Chester nez could non marco. We all acclimated ourselves really well for this car and driving one of those super late modified dirt cars or sprint. Car is so much different than what we were trying to do. You kind of had to drive those dirt tracks more like you're driving on a road course. In the rain you had to be real neat tidy and really smooth with throttle and no sprint cars than those big late mom five. Just whip 'em around and throw them sideways and they're hard on the throttle all the time and you really had to treat a throttle on the even on pavement then had so much power that you really just had to. You couldn't just put the throttle down. You squeeze that throttle like it was an egg and just be so careful because it would immediately start spinning the tires. If you've got to aggressively toronto. But you know i. I learned something from from everybody going. Learn a lot watching tony how he drives and how he does his inputs with the steering wheel and i kept telling myself but i've watched my in car camera and i'm sure you did i saw sonnet two-wheelers wrestling this car around the track and i hear everybody else complaining. I'm so lose some so loose. I got no four note forward by it. I got no rear grip monday night. Going i'd look look at the bonnie and look at tony and the way they would steer the car was just so precise mood and they did everything much slower than what the oakland will guys did you know. They open rental car. Were reacting to every single thing. That happens i just had a conversation about this scott. All be okay. Good and i had a conversation with him about this a minute ago. Scott good tony and these guys. He is so slow with their imports. And everything is very precise. And they've just gotten the custom to this big heavy car and then going to move around and it's going to slide and it's gonna do all this stuff and they just don't really react to it whereas guys at me and elliott khan and you watch marco. We're sawn at the wheel nonstop because you're in an open wheel car if you don't react to those things that are happening and you're gonna lose it. Yes exactly gone the war reacting to every single thing that the car does and trying to catch that. What's going on those nascar drivers. Just like you're driving right through it. It's gonna do right so fascinating. And i with scott i said i think this is what is going on with jimmy johnson is. He's so used to doing everything. Good jeff almost very precise accurate. And now he's gone into an indycar and you have to react so quick to everything apres up by the time that happens. He's already lost it. So there is part one with paul tracy on rice line radio fascinating part to in our second-guessed segment. Pt has more analysis of the indycar series and a little f. One as well all right. "Hats right. So i guess i gotta fight with myself in the mirror but Know i think back to this concept of the respect for tony stewart. Who said he was able to do just that in reconcile between being a driver and being owner i think. Those perspectives can sometimes clash no doubt But with the next gen market. I think that ownership specifically is going to mean something completely different than it did In decades past and those will be easier to reconcile why was laskey even interested in a leadership role for his next career. Move and not just being a regular old driver driver. I control certain parts of course of the performance of the car but not all and when you're potentially contending for championships you wanna make sure that you have the maximum impact possible as part of to me living up to the maximum potential. That that i have. I don't feel like i've lived up to that. I have a lot more offer them being just a race car driver short of having won championships in the last few years. I haven't achieved that for brag. Hausky was just the right time for this news to break. Yeah it sounds like cap. Maybe got a little before. We want anticipated. What South boston didn't run last year. Do the do the pandemic You made your way up to dominion in. Won the track championship up there. We'll talk about that in a second but What does it mean to you to now. Be able to go to your home track at south boston and revamp They're not revamp but Get the year back underway and race there again. This year Last year we we were. We were forced to go to dominion. Because you know. Let's say south boston in race Langley race but but motormeile didn't so we had we had been the dominion quite a bit. We had some good success there and everybody always really good there so we were open minded doing it but anytime you gotta drive past your home track to go three more hours to compete every saturday night. You know it makes it tough. It makes it hard on my guys. elvin on the grew that makes it hard on the guys you know sponsors and and just making it back to church on sunday morning with us all last year. You know arlene van showed up because of the pandemic and here they are this year. They're bringing good car. Album bringing good good crowd every week or so. I think the effort they put four last year to push through and keep the you know the normal routine and is now right now. So i'm glad to see those. Gotta do well and you south boston. They've opened the doors here. That's pretty easy car album that exceptional crowds in the san. How is that Race in front of this fans in your hometown fans tune on with a huge crown. Really neat believe is no yes. We grew up right here thirty miles away. We've got roots in south boston. We you know we've been there a long time. We started racing there in nineteen ninety six with my brother. Racing in limited sportsman eighty full south weather. Phd or myself or one of our customers we want to track seidel there In nineteen ninety eight for the first time the know we've been able to ship there and we had three national titles came out of south boston with myself. And no marcy samat bullets and He's also sippy. Local faces every week and You know that's why we do. It says. don't give her all. We enjoy racing. We enjoyed it or love it but it ended the day. No fans of there. We'll take all the fun out of. It has been an interesting start for twenty twenty one for south boston first of all the news that Kathy rice was going to retire it than in the year. They brought in the brochures to As general manager and co general manager. You know they're married so you know. I don't know who wears the pants in the house. We're you know we're going to have to give us some insight on that but But i will you know the the transformation this year with a new website with the social media is on fire. Tv channel. Their own tv channel. It's they have really up their game. And i think it is paying off dividends. Oh god this past weekend dominion and you look at not. I've been very than ever waged outracing. No -fornia to the main everywhere point fan. You look at the state of virginia. The quality of tracks. We have langley motormeile. Thou- fall dominion it for the premier racetracks in the united states. When i say premiere i mean the quality of the facilities operated the person that they You know we're very fortunate to see right here in in the south side for me but you guys we gotta go on now. You know bands always always resizing. Everything drags dude at least often going through a management teams and there's gonna be some stumbled in a row but at the end of the day they're doing an excellent job with their changes right now and i think that there is kinda overseeing that and ruble on at the same time so those guys to throw in virginia speedway yes. But you're right. You're right i mean. The state is bloated with the great asphalt tracks. Great short tracks and to be honest with you. I think that's what the fan base is really craving right now. I mean in the fans told nascar said. Hey look we want more short tracks road courses and i think some more short tracks are in the realm of things coming down the road you know in the future in the near future i mean california getting into a half mile but then you see start stuff like the s rx startup tony stewart and and the amount of fans that are those events i mean packet. Pack knows places and getting over a million views on on television. I mean that's that's insane. Peyton you know ten years of announcing that south boston speedway back in the nineties and early two thousands. You couldn't find a seat there. I mean they app. Austin averaged ten twelve thousand people a week and i think when you look at traffic like richmond oil and virginia you look at the third race in the state and all these tracks are going down. Pull them out for north show forum and you know me and mike looney and other week it. At a race of eighteen years boston we raised ordered over fifteen or twenty laps and beaten in maine and nobody wrecks. You know that will keep people coming back. You think that that's what the fans are craving now with with everything that's going on. They they just wanna see some good racing no matter where it is all about the show. They wanna say good show and nobody cares. If we're running two hundred miles an hour going to corner l. -fornia we've got any cars that we wanna see fast cars. People want to see a raise. They wanna steam widening and the people see smoke fine and robberies. They want a they want to see the worst people when it come out and start racing on short notice. None brings out the worst. And you don't get me wrong but You can also you know you've got to take that as a promoter and build on.

Apocalyptic Battle for Take-Out Dollars: Uber Eats Pits Star Wars against Star Trek

"A. From wondering David Brown and this is business wars daily on this Wednesday September thirtieth. It's hardly a stretch to say that the pandemic has been delivery services, best friend, take-out meals, or so much more attractive when we're avoiding other people that's meant a surge in revenue for leaders and Hungary rivals Uber Eats and door dash in the second quarter ubereats. Gross delivery bookings totaled almost seven billion dollars a jump of well over one hundred percent from q one. Before we all started eating in as a privately held company door dashes keeping a lot of data to itself but the number of people using dash doubled from ten million last year to twenty million now according to research firm Emarketer. Possibly, to Ubereats Chagrin Jordache became so ubiquitous that it was responsible for more than half of all US meal delivery in April. Wow. That's according to market researcher. Edison Trans last week linked in named DOOR DASH number two on its list of top fifty startups based in part on exuberant hiring plans. The companies expected to go public by the end of the year Uber eats holds about thirty percent of US market share despite their rapid growth neither door dash nor ubereats has yet turned a profit chew on. Then these rivals are employing ever more creative marketing strategies in their efforts to. Become or remain top takeout dog ubereats constructed a quirky ad campaign that celebrates competition itself a sort of Meta Mezei the latest ads featuring unusual rivalry between get this star wars and star Trek. They star none other than Mark Hamill Luke skywalker in star wars and Sir. Patrick Stewart's Star Trek's Captain John Luc Picard they compete ferociously almost grimly in games of air hockey and connect for. But when an uber driver delivers a delectable dish, each breaks the foreboding mood to politely thanked the driver in this Ad. Stewart. Armed with Cricket Bat and Hamill carrying a baseball bat in a dark empty warehouse. Tonight. I'll be eating a Veggie cheeseburger. On Shibata. No tomatoes. Tonight I'll be eating four cheese. Tortellini. With extra tomorrow. Tony. Stewart so it's come to the. Thank you. Proper. Part of what makes the spot? So amusing is that the argument tomato tomato is, of course from the classic George Gershwin. Song, let's call the whole thing off. But of course, neither UBER EATS NOR DOOR DASH is planning to call the whole thing off quite the opposite if takeout became essential in March, it's remaining. So in could see even more growth this winter, a second wave of the virus causes more lockdowns. In Uber Eats case, the company says the campaign celebrating rivalries already been a huge success in Australia Taiwan Japan, where it launched last year and ad featuring Kim Kardashian and a fictional Australian character pushed uber eats brand awareness in Australia two levels quote on par with McDonnell's the company told Ad Week the new Stewart Hamill Lads bring the campaign to the US in Canada but whether the cleverness of ubereats his ad campaign can steal away

Chase Briscoe confirmed at Stewart-Haas Racing for 2020

"Risky brisky is in studio. What's happening what's up chase briscoe nothing? I'm busy busy busy whole big time over here. I'll know about that has re upped with Tony Stewart at Stewart House Racing Gene Haas to compete again in the expended series. And I could be more exciting. I thought you were awesome last year in the car. You know got win in Iowa and I think you should contend for a championship. Don't you think yeah I think yeah pretty good you know. We don't have a ton of changes. I mean roles wise. It's the same. We have a new body on the Mustang. But yeah I mean there's going to be the first time in my career I've been able to go back with the same team in the same crew chief so looking forward to what do you think of the new pitstop procedures that were just announced. Yeah I just saw literally about thirty minutes ago but I think you you know at Iowa. I don't really think it's going to change anything but I do feel like at the road courses. It's GonNa Change them completely because there's no more short pitting anymore. There's no more flipping stages so so for me. I think it's a little bit worse. Because now you're going to have awesome syndrome out front in maintaining track position the hallway. So it's going to make it harder. I think to win the road course races because it's GonNa take a lot of the strategy out of it but it's hard to say right now we haven't done it yet so it's hard to say what it's going to be like but yeah I think it's going to be easier to maintain track position on a road course so fast on a road course. I think it's definitely a positive for you for sure. The move really helps money-wise for some of these smaller teams but the cup series teams were flying people into standalone races to do the crew and some of them have their own crews. I guess but a lot of the Rian flying flown end so that costed everything kind of brings that cost down but I agree with you. The road course racing is going to change that totally but as far as the racing product on track. It's not going to change that very much. Yeah I think you know it's not going to change the especially at the Iowa and the places like that Barocco where the fast guys stay up front so yeah. I think that's GonNa be the only place where you really see a difference in this new. Whatever you WANNA call? It rule changed. But I think it's going to be just normal Iowa and you can still pit when you want to pay it or whatever or you're just GONNA lose positions on pit road which like you said it's a good thing and it does definitely say the teams a lot of money if anything. It might make the racing a little bit better just because so you know if you have a guy like Ryan SEGER Jeremy Clements. That doesn't necessarily have the pick crew caliber of a pin skier Stewart. Haas if they can get up to sixth seventh or eighth or whatever or you know they can stay there now so dropping back five or six spots in a pit road so it's probably GonNa make the racing better the short tracks but you know it's hard to say I was going to do of course is this for you is. Is this the first time that you've since you've stock cars. You'll be in the same car two years in a row saint team but like same actual type of car era xfinity car in two thousand eighteen. I gotta run up not full-time. This will be the first time I've ever in two seasons full-time back. toback Gotcha so there's something to be said for that. I think a full year under your belt is going to be going to be good. Yeah I think you know last year specifically you know the first half of the year to the second half of the year was day now to be able to start the first half of the year where we ended the second half. I think
