It's hardly a stretch to say that the pandemic has been delivery services, best friend, take-out meals, or so much more attractive when we're avoiding other people that's meant a surge in revenue for leaders and Hungary rivals Uber Eats and door dash in the second quarter ubereats. Gross delivery bookings totaled almost seven billion dollars a jump of well over one hundred percent from q one. Before we all started eating in as a privately held company door dashes keeping a lot of data to itself but the number of people using dash doubled from ten million last year to twenty million now according to research firm Emarketer. Possibly, to Ubereats Chagrin Jordache became so ubiquitous that it was responsible for more than half of all US meal delivery in April. Wow. That's according to market researcher. Edison Trans last week linked in named DOOR DASH number two on its list of top fifty startups based in part on exuberant hiring plans. The companies expected to go public by the end of the year Uber eats holds about thirty percent of US market share despite their rapid growth neither door dash nor ubereats has yet turned a profit chew on. Become or remain top takeout dog ubereats constructed a quirky ad campaign that celebrates competition itself a sort of Meta Mezei the latest ads featuring unusual rivalry between get this star wars and star Trek. They star none other than Mark Hamill Luke skywalker in star wars and Sir. Jim Harbaugh's players that are just sitting out there and Chilin. Come to. Come Home S. I can guarantee. I can guarantee you. They're going to get the same education they're laying. Football is they'll be able to mark competitive now. If, you're a young player did you just say going on with your Kayak? You rather go. What war exposure against better competition playing at old miss. What are you seriously stuttering? Not Michigan football irrelevant you WANNA play old fogy coaches offense stinks or you want to play for the young innovative guy who gets players to the NFL lane kiffin. Does this Jomo for Kanye. Is this Jomo forget who I had calling in to wish him a happy birthday to July's ago Iran ziggy that he put on that coach Anti Program. Yeah Who Do need your house is made of glass on I. Don't I don't claim to the. Football team is some juggernaut like Michigan. With. Big Cat the bill delusion behind Michigan football is insane. I don't believe there's a delusion I don't believe. I Don't believe. It at all, if WANNA go and hopefully compete for big ten titles and advant at some point, be part of getting Michigan to the mountain top. That's great. If you WANNA, do the same thing for Ole. Miss where the speed limit is the same number as. Archie Manning's number if you wanNA, do that. I'm saying if you're going to play against better competition in the SEC and you give more exposure, let's take a break. Eight four, four, zero, four, rich. You can tweet at richeisenshow our instagram at richeisenshow our facebook page. HERE'S DEAL DONNA The witnesses I. I will do this the way that. You don't think I will. Okay okay. So Lane Kiffin. says. Essentially. A The Big Ten and PAC twelve players that don't have a season should be allowed to transfer. Yeah. They should have waivers they should have they should be they should be able to go. Right, they should be absolutely able to go play where conferences currently are. Ignoring the science. That big twelve that big ten and PAC twelve officials clearly heard. I fully believe at some point the SEC. And the big twelve, and certainly the ACC were North Carolina. Went online completely reversed Michigan state told its students they're online yesterday. Unfortunately, as Dr Brian, hainline pointed out the chief medical officer of the NC Double A. on Monday show. There's not enough testing to test every single person on a campus. In the same way that the NFL is doing it or what have you but For the moment sec saying they're still considering this thing they're going to go. So. Lane Kiffin. Hey let everybody in the pack the big ten. So do they return those players when the pandemic over or does he get to keep them? He's Muslim talking about guys who are probably going to go pro next year. Oh so people are going to lead people who want to enjoy their senior play their senior year or going to be going to then let them go. So did just anybody getting ready to go. So it's a one year thing, they should be able to play for Linkin it miss they should be able to play anywhere where they're playing football this fall. Okay. Is One of those, and so you said the following I just. said the following what did you say? Repeat it. Because I don't want you. Putting words in your mouth go ahead. I said, would you rather stay at Michigan and maybe play in the spring or go play in a place where? You're going to play against better competition in the SEC and you're going to get more exposure at Ole miss. No, you did not now see I'd love to let you say this. I did say. You did not put it in the box in the construct of just this year in the pandemic. Do you want to say in general? Very Large. No covert in the world tha coaches off. Dock in the mud, knock yards and a cloud of dust or play for a young innovative coach who has coached professionals in a big time conference for Big Time College Teams in length Giffen who would you rather point for Harbaugh if it and I think the answer is obvious. A. Dude. You confu call me delusional or Michigan's delusional. You say you're a big cat guy 'cause Wisconsin's actually beat Michigan No I. Him As. She whole are delusional in thinking that they have a chance to win the national championship. You can sit here and say I delusional Michigan Guy Okay fine. You could say that but I'm not delusional to the point where I'm not outraged by the results of the Michigan Ohio state game over the last. Well, you know it's coming each year and years. I'm not delusional to know that Michigan is not. As it has been when I went to school up there and a shot at winning the national title or up there with Clemson and Alabama is right now I'm not sitting here saying that my program is on that level I'd love for it to be on that level every year I go in hoping that we are going to be on that level, and once we are on that level, we will be very difficult to stop. And I'm also not delusional enough to know that my coach who I adore. and. That's fine because his grades my first quarterback when I went to school there, get it I get it and he does win a hell of a lot of football games I. Wish One more certainly against Ohio state I'm not delusional enough to to sit here and say I know you and many others they keys doodle. Okay where he talks about not eating chicken nervous. "Get ready for that. You Know May Donald. Possible. Tony Stewart here on the rich Eisen show fortunate enough before the pandemic truly hit inducted into the Nascar Hall of fame this past January and none other than Jimmy Johnson doing the inducting word is Jimmy rank in terms of guys that you have raced against Tony. I haven the top five for sure you know and and it's not always just about what he does on the racetrack. It's all the stuff. He does author racetrack the kind of person he is off the race track I consider him a great friend and then somebody that I. Admire me He. Whatever it is, he chooses to do in his life whether it's his personal life, his professional life he gives a hundred and ten percent to it and and you know he works hard at every aspect of. The things that he does. I I'm lucky if I woke up in time to even have a meal before I would get up in the morning for practice Jimmy on the other hand would've already wrote a sixty two hundred mile bike bride. Probably Jog. Ten Miles and then got up and got a shower got Scott Breakfast and got ready for practice on me. Just one of those guys that you know he's he's definitely getting the most out alive right now for sure. Well, he's talked about you know flying with you once upon a time eaten hamburgers with you. Sir You saying that was out of character for Jimmy to to be challenging burgers like that. Yeah. On Your jet. Eat to watch them eat a hamburger. It's like four object him. So he to me like man I where's the closest McDonald's or Wendy's or Burger King or something been me John's I'm hungry. So you know sit there and watch Jimmy Cheeseburger like that. He's he's like this is all you have. What do you mean? What more would you want? And Hang out with me for week he goes I get straight down I'm like absolutely not getting away from my comfort foods. Well. He also said that in in on that plane ride, you're feeding your dogs filet Mignon while he was eating burgers. Zealotry Story to Tony. We why that happened but the dog got the got the steak and I got a cheeseburger or something so. But. I love my dogs too. So I'll do anything for my. I I am with you on that front Sir you know our our dog I, think my wife likes dogs more than people I. Think personally you know timely possible may have always disliked the saying that you could sit there and take your dog and take your girlfriend and put them in the trump in two hours later opened and trump and see which ones actually the. I mean that sounds the story right there. Tony Stewart everybody. based. On the rich Eisen show Okay. So this indy five, hundred what what are you most looking forward to I mean you WanNa talk about a unique this is we're talking August we're talking to empty brickyard. You, what are you expecting out of this one? Well I mean it's definitely different for sure I mean this isn't this isn't the year than any of us in any. Professional Sport wanted to see on any fan point but you know I, think. What I'm excited about I mean I'm super excited about what advance auto parts and diehard batteries are doing I mean. It's it's a year where it's just wasn't possible to have fans at the race and You know advance auto parts and diehard batteries figured out a way to try to get the fans engaged and make them part of the prairie ceremonies and then the command to start your engines and having the promotion of. Calling all diehards dot com if you get on there and send in a video of your. Of Your Command for the drivers to start their engines you have a chance to be that person gets the starting field and and If you don't.

"Of telling everyone to start their engines. None other than the CO owner of Stewart Haas racing, as well as a hall of Famer the pride of Indiana himself Tony. Stewart, here on the rich Eisen show. How are you? Tony. Man I'm great hanging in there and Trying to live life a little different than what we're all used to. But at the same time, we're still excited that you know we're all able to Rayson excited for the five hundred this weekend. What was the first time you walked into the brickyard you remember that? Oh my God. As a kid I'm not even sure what year was but I went with my father I. Think the first time was to one of the qualifying days. remember at A. Separate Year my dad taking me to the racing. We sat on the front row of three and four, which you can't see a lot from there but everything that went by really fast. So that agreed appreciation at a young age you know for for the Indianapolis Motor speedway in Indy five hundred, I bet, I, bet. So you know growing up I guess, who is your favorite racer? Their AJ AJ. foyt Aj. Osman. Bad Ass. Aj Ford I remember that I remember watching. Sports growing up. And listening to you know. Jackie Stewart right and Chris Khanna on the Mike and Doing doing the race I just I I lived for I. Loved Loved every second of a Tony. You know. To I I I every year even when I have the first opportunity in ninety six to race at Indianapolis and and. You know remember all the pageantry and everything leading up to it I mean I. I was Iraq I didn't even know how it was going to drive the car to. The practice as qualifying all that was pretty sanitary insane and and then you get to race day and you have all the pre-race tree and everything going on and it was like just please tell me to get in the car so I can drive now because driving me crazy. So I was I was glad we finally got to got to that point. I. Bet I bet tell me about the day where you ran in the brickyard and then took care of some NASCAR. Where you you actually took care of two races in one day. Walk me through that one Tony. makes for a long day. I can tell you that I bet we win. You know then you five hundreds and in Indiana, and then you fly down to Charlotte north. Carolina. To run the Coca Cola six hundred, which is Nascar's longest race of the year. So you know just I did it twice I did at ninety nine the first year, and then did it again in two thousand one and and not a guy that's a big workout guy on. Right just Wisconsin. Old School like Aj was I guess in that regard but just literally it was didn't. I was so nervous about being dehydrated I didn't eat enough solitude during the day and that really got to me at the end of the six hundred it's a long day I mean the hardest part probably. running indy five hundred for me because I was so used to being in the soccer every week at that point that you know being in an Indycar, just one time that year for the five hundred was the hardest part of it But you get done with that you you get on a helicopter fly to the to the Indy airport. Again on an airplane, you fly down to the Concord Airport, get another helicopter and landed in the Infield the race tracks so Just makes for a very, very long day took a lot of people that that made it a logistics happen but the second time we did it, we had a trainer that went with us You know we got. Clearance on the flight to once we took off from from Indianapolis got an ear we were direct all the way to concord didn't have any jumps to make. So it was a forty four minute flight down there but having a trainer and having a medical staff to make sure they got IV fluids me during that flight and making sure that I have the right to eat to. Get through the next six, hundred mile race was a big part of I mean to do the indy five hundred and then fly to a totally different state, and then as you point out the longest race for Nascar I mean that is You gotta you gotTa love racing and I just. I. Just drove up to see my mom up in you know the the East Bay and northern. California just drove it straight. My back was killing me I mean, literally about three four hours in but I'm a fifty year old guy though you know what I'm saying I can't imagine what you did. Impressive well, it's you know and so that's perfect. Example I mean everybody thinks it's just like driving a streetcar, the the seats in the race cars both indy-car in the stock car you know or form Phychi. So it's it's the most comfortable seat you're going to be in from that stance, but you just it's like anything else any other sports whether it's football basketball baseball and you have to be Prepared for it and season for it and you know being in a race car three days a week every weekend like I was running You know you're in shape for ready for it. So you know the biggest thing was just the nutrition side of it and making sure that in between the races we were getting rehydrated. which we were getting the advantage of IV fluids to help us with that and and making sure that we're eating the right foods that we're going to help us with the energy we needed to run a four hour six, hundred mile race in Charlotte after the five hundred was you know having that preparation and having those people in place to help us..

So I played I played with Fred through him. I passed I draw versus John Back coach. Became head coach cut. Little about to say you run the Gamut Tom Floors. That's for sure. What was it like being interviewed by John Madden for a position in that? Seventy to eighty cash. Pretty casual. Did he was He talked about this and that and we got on the buckboard a little bit but I think mostly he wanted. I think he realized that Going you know with AL, advise because I played for Al.. and I knew the system I knew the offense I knew the raiders way. So I think he just wanted to get it on me because I didn't know Johnny, Depp Point and we we ended up spending. Eight years, and And very close long days long nights and and through a glorious Super Bowl. Year. For Him. So what he retired I was washing up to still be there. And and get the job. So it was. It was it was we have maintained straight year was only two coaches. That's pretty rare doubting no question about it and so were you surprised when Madden decided to retire Tom in you got the job was at that catch you by surprise he's such a young man. Yeah. I was surprised. But not totally because I saw him in agony when he was ever ulcer that he had and and other things do then just was time ten years. it was time for him to step away and. And Jesus stepped stepped away big time. I know the crazy thing is when he finally when he finally got into the hall, people were wondering if you get in get in as a coach broadcast or a video game Impresario, you know I mean, he's yeah he's been something else Tom flurries here on the rich Eisen show super bowls fifteen and eighteen. The winner of of those two super bowls the the head coach of the raiders three and fifty three in the regular season including eight and three in the playoffs on top of all that right here on on the show winning that Super Bowl did you realize the momentous moment it was for you and for people like you Tom? No you don't think about it when when you're in the middle of the battle in the middle of the play offs and the excitement and the emotion up and down the roller coaster ride I call it. you don't think about it. They can tell us all over there when it's all over, you realize what you've done a while. He's definitely saying, wow, because what do you do now? What? Well now what do again you have to do it again because that's That's the life of a coach. You Win, and then you try to win again and then you try to win again and You know never dreamed never dream that ever. Ever, be on that. Stage In my lifetime when when the people of the world are watching you and your coaching, this This team for Lulu Oakland. And and when. The head coach of Hispanic descent I minority head coach doing super bowl. You are also the first. Hispanic starting quarterback in the National Football League do you think you've blaze a trail? Tom. Well I like to think of it. I didn't take it at a time and I didn't realize until later in life when I. When I was later in my career, what I was traveling around certain airs and people would come out of Hispanic background and as you know, we watched you. Coach the Super Bowl Fifteen or eighteen to buy dad cried. As really yeah he was so proud and I don't even know the the person's Dad, but he was so proud because what you did he cried. that was pretty special you but something like that happen you beat the Eagles in Super Bowl fifteen and then Washington and super bowl eighteen you the want to drop the Marcus Allen. Pirouette Tom was at you. Know we we fought every day spends a spinner Hamad seventy, four yards later touchdown. Down there you're GONNA turn around spin around coming back, and then you're going to pick up plug in his blocker. And speaking of GM. Tom. It's time to get him into. Don't you think? Jim There wasn't a lot of pro bowls. But he did win two super bowls the rookie of the year and he made big plays a big game. So you know hopefully at some point is lifetime you'll you'll share that experience you I mean not many first overall drafted quarterbacks will end up winning two super bowls Tom. I mean it's really Kinda that simple I mean they're you know You you could. You could really just you know when somebody comes in with such Hoopla such. A promise from one team winds up with an another and then wins two super bowls. It's quite a story that Plunkett has put together and one with utility. I couldn't be happier for Tom I really couldn't I mean seriously just just even in in the twelve minutes that we've talked just walking through we didn't even talk about you being a player for Angstrom and up Dawson for a super bowl I mean your football life is something that is so unique. It deserves to be enshrined I couldn't be happier for you. Well Richard. Bridget thanks for your support. Thanks for all the kind words. It's really A. It's it's exciting and I'm I'm I'm not going to get to. So yeah because know a year to go this pandemic biggest screwed it up. I. Hope you're staying safe and staying healthy and staying well best you can Tom. You thanks for the call. congrats again for that call you got from the hall. That's Tom Floors. Now I know many of you might be sitting out there thinking, okay. You don't talk about fight club talk about. No hitters, you know talk about perfect games it is when you are named by the senior committee. Is as close to shoot a rubber stamp as possible it has happened before where people are named and they don't get in. But this gentleman eighty, three years old thing. But sixty years and football it's not just also and that's why I think. Dick, for meal should be in. It's not just what you did. Do you have the rings? FOUTS's in Marino's I mean we could go on and on about players who didn't get the rings that are in. Strew. Okay and you could say also well, look at fouts's stats. They're not the same as you know, breezes or whatever different arrows what people meant for their team's different Don coryell. Again, I'm speaking on the mighty your ten ninety right now it's not just about rings. It's about contribution to the game. And it's not just long jetty either. Guy. Looks like we got a couple of interesting ones this weekend. Don't we yeah South Africa's sponsoring the quarter panel of Quinto F- Really Forensic Double Zero. Oh at the rear bumper area. Well my gosh you're right South Africa it is. It's the flag south. It's like literally like it says. South Africa's yellow flag South Africa tourism. Right below the Ashurst American honey visit South Africa. The apartheid's over everybody number twenty with that interstate batteries. Lightning scheme like it a lot. The Ryan Preece car with the cheese splattered VELVEETA book. Oh where's howdy. That's something that's that's almost like the Carl's junior slash hardee's big F and G. Cfc is this have you you do you. Guys get the same commercials that we get. So for the Carl's junior. They have the star which is their logo And it's not always by norm MacDonald like it was back in the nineties. No no it's not. It's somebody talking like this And they're in a conference room at a business meeting and the stars like is this where dreams go to. I'm sure that's a national. Eventually I will see again. That's Great Reed. Sorenson with the low T. on the bottom E frame-they're so shout out to low T. I love the cheese car. She's Carlos Pretty Lou. We have a low T. car. We have a first century in the Mark Martin Award for this year. Yeah we do. It's seven shot to the number. Forty-four Tommy Joe Martins with the Red Angus the new black farming car with the cows and such. We're not a calendar Hood. Which which was not car seventy seven. Oh I'm just seeing a black car here not on the very bottom bottom. Yep Yep there it is okay. Gotcha and then the yeah. The forty four looks pretty cool. Twix car looks pretty. Cool to fifty four of Bush for the extended series. I like the twenty two. Oh and the twix car does look good dig. That's a little old school. They're like you bet. Or or ultra-modern. I can't tell which it's turn ahead the clock it is. It's exactly what it reminds me of those jerseys. That's exactly what it looks like. It's turned to turn the clock ahead car. God this jerseys were the worst. That's what we didn't talk about what the thing I sent you. What did you send me? the MOCKUPS THAT NASCAR PUT OUT TO NASCAR female. You're right Oh we gotta talk about that. This logo scituate. Yes so In the NASCAR FAN council they sent out a survey and they said what would you like most about? What car mockup would you like and you gave your standard car? It was the sponsor and the quarter panel in the hood number number right by the driver's door up then they had other options where the number was like in the back of the car with sponsor across the side and then number next to a sponsor like this it like Nascar is going Gung Ho on the fans saying look we we we. We don't have a title sponsor so we need to get these sponsor some kind of exposure which one is less ice shattering to you and I think that that If somebody because obviously you can't see it because we're talking about it but if you look at that twix car the fifty four car in the xfinity series. That's like kind of like the idea except take that twix and put it right on the door. So it's like all sponsor on the door with like a little Tan number down here over there. You should put. You should put up the picture somehow. Like facebook on the face he space. Yeah what did you think of those because I was kind of torn on one hand because obviously the traditional ways putting a number on the door and so that's what I'm used to write and then along those same lines you know. I personally think this is what I responded to you. I personally think that the numbers they should use numbers as a marketing tool more so the numbers should be attached to the driver. Not The team. Because nobody's like. Oh I'm rooting for the Rick. Hendrick Karna they're like I'm room for Dale Jimmy. Dale Jr. Card. Nobody got a tattoo of a number either number three. Because they're like. I really love that childress motors. But no they love senior and so they put the three. It's identifiable with the driver and so if you minimize the size of the number then you start to lose the ability at some point to attach those numbers to driver market at that way but I do like the idea. Switch ended up where you're putting you know. Maybe a big sponsor name on the side make mcdaddy the identifiable part of the car. Maybe it's two sports car for me. We think so. Yeah to rally. It's to rally inspired Yahweh. It because rally cars don't have numbers at all and so they've got like the huge sponsors they have it just in the in the window there like on that on the first month a window. I think I wouldn't be like you said I'm a big numbers. Guy. I wouldn't be bad. That wouldn't be mad if they kept to the traditional or the sponsor and then the number being big. The problem is a lot of these mockups. The numbers so tiny. It's very small. You can't see it and like you said you equate a driver to a number. Yeah so I mean a situation like this. Where and that's why people freaked out when they had number eight tattoos and they're glad Dale Jr. went to the eighty eight at another one on their right but I mean I like the other ones I think are just like it doesn't it. The sponsor is too much of a space. You're already a driving billboard as it is we don't need to really make it that obvious and the thing is unless unless Nascar was like okay in conjunction with this every team is going to have a sponsor and that sponsor we're gonNA convince somehow sponsored the entire year then be unlike imagine a new fan coming in and the number is tiny. And you can't really see it on the camera because of that on the side is tiny and so you see twix in huge letters on Kabul. She's fifty four on. You're like Oh okay I get it. That's the twix car because this isn't huge letters on the side and the next week the interstate batteries car and the next week. It's the EMINEM's car and like with the number so small now there's nothing identifiable entity even more confusing at that point. I would think yeah. Yeah yeah absolutely right on that one. I think you've got to have the numbers big. I think the numbers big definitely and personally. I think they need to start attaching number two driver. But I don't think you're going to do that anytime soon. Yeah But I think the twenty two car in the xfinity series. It's all right and then I like. I like the number eight because I did not know the poppy had her own bank. Now Yeah No. She's doing great. Apparently you know she releases. The music makes a lot of money. You gotTa have a place to put it. Poppy Bank And then what else do we have? Here I liked that they that the the Complete cf on the forty seven car. It's got like a little thing going on where it's like. They're like Taryn back the package very subtle. But they had that last week to or. It's like a reynolds wrap kind of situated day. Okay I didn't I didn't it last week. the McDonald's car looks old school a candidate that but I think it's kind of like the Rio and do the velvety. The car looks bad ass ran through cheese and I do dig the motor trend car. The motor trend car is already trying to implement the changes that they were suggested yard. In fact that's a better if you want to find out like the type of things sent Scotty. That's a little bit better like test from Ford is a thirty two car in the Cup series this year or this week this year. This week This year as gentle. Yeah so but that's all I got me so I guess it's time for for some some pick SOM- last week You bully. He's got he was wins that one. I didn't finish. Cou You had a nice lace finish a fun representation but not enough. Yeah and and I wasted my Kevin Harvick pick before before.

"Because it's so big. It's a big so big I can't so yeah you know. I think that after like a race People No I actually. I was just have to raise people. Just forget about me. Find about it. People will have forgotten about it when when we go to the next year. But then there's GonNa be a problem. Some teams it's just like the pit guns man. Some team is going to have a problem in the first couple of races. That's GONNA cost him big and then everybody is going to be up in arms about the damn thing and then about five races later once all the teams get their crap figured out and nobody's GonNa Care Anymore Games. Have you done? It's a dead subject point which pretty much what happened with the low with guns with the standardized guns. You know. Couple of problems. Everybody was up in arms about it. He got the problem sorted by halfway in the season. People kind of forgot about it and who talks about it now lake who bitches and complains about the SPEC pick guns and nobody does it break when Martin tricks is guys hands. Oh I know do we do we do. We know the status on him by the way. Hi Joan have that down but I was cringing when they showed the replay and he's holding his hand again. You couldn't see thankful thankful you couldn't Kinda see what was going on under the glove. But the way was holding his hand I was just like Oh God I don't WanNa see I don't WanNa look look man and then pour Mardi Mardi was like all pissed about it because he no. He was arrested. Everybody Yeah so. He's like you guys. Eft UP. I don't like dude. The guy broke his can hand. Oh then Martin F F the eleven and after the twenty teammates daily. Say That yeah over the over the over the thing he said. F The eleven twenty. I'm going to knock him out of the way to do that again. Oh so trouble. In paradise their kids okay. So we're while we're on the topic of what what Marty says over the radio. So I think I've noticed this the past lake maybe three or four years like when I'm at the track and I've got my headphones on got got you into the scanner on. I can hear exactly what they're saying right if I go online. And listen to the scanners online. I can hear exactly what they're saying but for some reason on the Fox broadcast when they're like. Oh here's Mark Insurance. Junior said the same thing that if I were at the track listing or if I were listen the Internet's be able to know exactly what he said. It sounds like we're assassin beep fit and then Jeff Gordon's all like. Yeah no I agree with him on that. Maybe you're up to high. I don't know no I've got these little tiny speakers again no base at all. It's just to me. It sounds like a bunch of gibberish with whatever they're doing to the audio and then but the guys in the booth here at perfectly and they're laughing oh man. I can't believe he said that I'm like I don't even know what happened there by the way it looks like rex is a guy. Had Hand an arm cramp. Oh that was it. Yeah who God he made. It seem like there was something drastically wrong way was kind of hearing this. I know didn't look great and I guess maybe just seized up completely and just like wow man all right well. That's good. I mean it's it's far better than the alternative like glue a finger back here. Here's here's how here's how went on the radio x f the twenty and FDA eleven. They can both kiss my ass and then his spotter goes ten four on the kiss. Yeah over there. That is fantastic Then later to exit just got caught in a bad spot there it F- and killed US killed my front tires to his crew. Chief James Small says doesn't help when our teammates racist like jackasses. Every week as well he said Yeah. I don't understand why they can't just help. Push me by the next guy not push the next guy back past me and understand. It's got a stupid. I do remember that that last part of it where he was asking. Why couldn't they push me to tell the twenty two? I should have rectum next time. I will then Clayton. Houston Spider said yesterday. Tired of that Shit. Well I mean that's like every week somebody's pissed at the twenty two man. There's nothing new there but laying into his own teammates like that that's hilarious. Yeah just cram for that that guy. So wow that's weird. My guess is that Marty has like a little bit different perspective because he came from that single car team so everybody. Kinda was against him at that point and so maybe still got them in that mentality. Who knows okay? So let's talk about some of these changes. I'm very curious to find out what you think of these. Basically ages basically carded two things this week. two announcements for Daytona. Twenty twenty one number one. They're condensing everything into one week. God previous to this it was you know actually back. In the day it was Bush clash Saturday night and then Daytona five hundred pole qualifying Sunday. Then you waited a couple of days Thursday the devils and then we can start Friday through Sunday. Well then this this year they did a both the busch clash and Daytona five hundred qualifying on on Sunday. Wait a few days than we do. The Thursday and then weekends gone now. What they're gonNA do is Bush clash on Tuesday Daytona five hundred qualifying Wednesday door racists. Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday. Get trucks xfinity Cup Series So. That's the first thing condensing it into one week. The second thing is that the Bush clash is now going to be in the Daytona road. Course same course that they use for the twenty four hours of Daytona. Down with both really you like down down with it all. Because you'RE GONNA you're gonNA lessen the time away for the pomp and circumstance at his speed weeks yeah Just make it all in one man no need to spread it out especially for people who WANNA travel. It's it's more. It's more alluring for people to travel and have to take a week off rather than a week and a half all right. I think it's more alluring that way And it's racing raising rates. You don't have these big pauses in between xactly can get excited in that way. And then the road course itself. I think you're GONNA have a gimmick like the Bush class. It doesn't mean anything it's just for money. Why not make it a little bit like an obstacle course which what. It's going to be like man. Yeah no I agree with you. I I like both of them for those same reasons because you know instead of the root track going dark or whatever they do then you get like if you wanted to take the week off. You can fly down there Monday. I mean obviously teams will be there beforehand practicing whatever but you can fly down there Monday and then there's some thing like some main attraction every day starting on Tuesday you get to see a ray. She could see qualifying. Which is a big deal. You get to see two more races on Thursday and then racing racing racing Friday Saturday Sunday constant action. I think that will make more people. WanNa come down and spend the entire time there. Yeah it's it's much more than than people are also bogged down by like this weekend. Where was the qualifying then? The that's a lot of racing in one day like oh totally so And then yeah I you know the course on a race like this also should be that way to you know. Just try some stuff man. They have tried some stuff in the past and the terms of remember the special tire and special world packages that they've now neil wholeheartedly endorsed But I like the idea of trying something completely different especially considering the absolute disaster that this year's busch clash was that great. Yeah I mean you know. The road course might be absolutely mental but at least it will be an entertaining mental. Not just everybody rex. Three cars finished the race mental. Exactly you're not gonNA wreck wreck good cars and you have to wonder if if they're gonNA use the old cars when this one. That is a very good question. You know what they'll what they'll use rule wise if these new cars cars and You know if your the team at that point Do you have different cars for the like do bring a quote unquote road course. Car like a separate chassis built just for the For the digital goddess still. Doing the jobs. Are they doing the job? Somewhere there's one chassis for everybody. I think they might be might be in which case. It's probably going to be the same car. Just set up differently at that point. But the the coolest part about that that that. Nobody's really talked about yet. Is it right off the bat like first unofficial race? I exhibition race of the year. They're going to get to test out the sequential transmissions So that'd be fun to see what kind of effect that has right off the bat and wonder if that didn't go into the whole explanation either maybe maybe to You know so. They can prove reliability because we do some testing than getting an actual race. Yeah exactly you have to put it out there. That might have been the reason that they did it. You know they. They wanted to get get one under their belt with that transmission make sure was going to be reliable in the way they have it. Set up So wait till the ruble Royal Framework Jet Jet Actually asked me today when the ruble was. Yeah I got handed to them. It's a gimmick but it's a good one task the I love it Yup cell and then of course how many resources were getting. I mean. We're definitely in the role in two thousand twenty. We don't know how many others would make an extra twenty twenty one at speaking. Of course sure Tony Stewart A. Come back for the indy road. Course for him for him he'd eat it. I like it. You know I mean it's adding the need pop. I'm sure that I'm sure that Roger. Penske had a hand in the somehow. I'm sure that you know penske called him up and was like Tony Komo. We need some help over here. Do something for us. and So it's good because right. Now we've got the pop in the truck series because of the whole Kevin Harvick thing. The Cup series technically should be taken care of itself. And so now you know you need something for the the xfinity guys you get a race with Dell junior this year and homestead and then you get the Tony Stewart coming back. I think it's a good thing. Yeah absolutely I mean and and it's Indianapolis with Tony Stewart. History there at the big pop poem track. You know maybe some extra people come out to see it and the states don't look so desolate because they're gonNA look really bad. Great so Interesting to see this next story about another challenger and then chase Elliott adding a race as well last week. Yeah so Eric Jones is diving into the To the truck series bounty on Kyle Busch. Hey what he says. He's going to run at homestead. Billy Blue James Finch like good nice Goodson James Finch involved in that one. Dale Juniors podcast. I WANNA listen to that. Is He really? They'll junior had a couple of back yet. He had He had James Finch on this weekend. I think last week had rick mast on really listen. I don't listen to bus podcast anymore because I worked in day so far. Better than this podcast. Well listen. It's not wrong. Hey we have mad debates. And he's been awesome ever since we haven't had a guest on Sunday. We had a guest on since should've had one this past week but I'll know they'll they'll love US anymore. What we said. Well We. Did you apply for credential? I did not. That's probably part of. That's probably why because I was doing the whole problem figured out because it was doing the whole waking up early thing I I couldn't get out there and then now a waking up early thing anymore so I could have gone out there vicious so eric Jones Zen Chase Elliott. Now is saying that he's going to run for G. M. S. Atlanta and Kansas collars is going to run at homestead so that means that That means that the last three tracks is you already run. No his only run Vegas he ran Daytona so that means that the majority of the races that call has left in the truck series. He's going to have at least one and in some cases to in one case two challengers to try and take that fifty grand interesting and by the way there was all man. It's a construction company. Oh Man I wanNA remember. Their name starts with an H. But there's a construction company that's sponsoring One of the trucks in the truck series that they went ahead and put up fifty grand of their own for a truck series regular to for the first truck series regular. Kabushiki in one of the remaining races can run this year. And I've won an harling construction. I WANNA I wanNA give him props on it because I mean you know. They're they're ponying up the cash so I want him to get credit for it. Obviously it's a tack on it seems Kinda Cheesy but helm Ar- how mark construction. So good on them. How are international so So even though it's not you know as spontaneous or anything is the You know as the What do you call it? The the Kevin Harvick thing. I still think it's cool I think it's make it happen. Not even more attention down there. Little thing Jimmy Johnson went down to the McLaren shop. He He got fitted for an indy car. Seat he's going to do some testing next month at Barber motorsports park. Oh home of the most amazingly awesomely mind-blowing Motorcycle Museum.

"But everybody will say Tony Stewart a three time NASCAR Cup series champion so to me that would that would be my argument but still I I'd I'd let me get three and then ask me that question and around there will be enough yeah that question yeah we talk about hall of fame a lot of people put you not conversation as a future hall of Famer now you obviously have a lot of years left in your career but your name is thrown in the likes of Jimmy Johnson and Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt one of the greats of the sport how does that feel hearing that is that something you put yourself in that category are you consider yourself a living legend now I I don't I don't it's it's all debatable right so like even Jimmy as he is he the greatest doors Earnhardt or is Patty whatever even there's others that would save Pearson who never ran that many full time years could be even better than those guys but it's all just relative but it's it's all good argument it's a good debate I enjoy that sort of stuff but for me it's not for me to classify myself as any greater stature than anybody else you know I just go out there do my job and like you said if they have got a long time left to be able to accomplish more things and to get to another level but that level probably not not yet well you've already accomplished a second championship how did it feel different than the first I was cool you know it's fun because you just try to like take it all in and soak it up and and live that that night through a four and a half year old size because he he got a chance to really see and understand it where the first time he was only six months old so it wasn't really registering whatsoever it was fun you know we we cherish it celebrated it had fun with it enjoyed going to Nashville and and celebrating a nude the championship venue being able to go there with everyone and I'd love to be able to go back to back I mean why not you know this over here to do is win races when championships and you know I feel like these are some of the really good years that I have that opportunity I feel like Adams in the right place we've got this final year with this car and there's gonna be a new new car that comes up in typically I I knock on wood when I say this but typically you know were able to excel when we have new things kind of thrown at us whether it's me whether it's Adam or for Joe Gibbs racing as a whole and I'd like to think that we're ready for a good show here coming up yeah certainly right in the prime of his career you can hear more of their.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame ready to induct Joe Gibbs and more
"Hey so this weekend had snuck up on us at least it did me twenty twenty nascar hall of fame is inducting some new guys here i've heard of them to bobby labonte joe gibbs tony stewart waddell wilson and buddy baker newest members down this weekend yes j. g. r. triple triple trio there which is pretty cool they're all going together and then what i wilson one of the best engine builders of all time and buddy baker the gentle antle giant a guy who had a lead foot was about seventy five feet tall wound unfortunately but he's not with us anymore and that would have been really really cool to see him up there telling his stories going into the hall of fame so it's really a shame that this happened after he's no longer with us but still cool to see him get the honor rebounds it was and he did get to accept this for his father buck a few years ago as well so we did get to see somebody up there at the at the podium telling some funny stories but man i'm not cool to see him do it this time around
Chase Briscoe confirmed at Stewart-Haas Racing for 2020
"Risky brisky is in studio. What's happening what's up chase briscoe nothing? I'm busy busy busy whole big time over here. I'll know about that has re upped with Tony Stewart at Stewart House Racing Gene Haas to compete again in the expended series. And I could be more exciting. I thought you were awesome last year in the car. You know got win in Iowa and I think you should contend for a championship. Don't you think yeah I think yeah pretty good you know. We don't have a ton of changes. I mean roles wise. It's the same. We have a new body on the Mustang. But yeah I mean there's going to be the first time in my career I've been able to go back with the same team in the same crew chief so looking forward to what do you think of the new pitstop procedures that were just announced. Yeah I just saw literally about thirty minutes ago but I think you you know at Iowa. I don't really think it's going to change anything but I do feel like at the road courses. It's GonNa Change them completely because there's no more short pitting anymore. There's no more flipping stages so so for me. I think it's a little bit worse. Because now you're going to have awesome syndrome out front in maintaining track position the hallway. So it's going to make it harder. I think to win the road course races because it's GonNa take a lot of the strategy out of it but it's hard to say right now we haven't done it yet so it's hard to say what it's going to be like but yeah I think it's going to be easier to maintain track position on a road course so fast on a road course. I think it's definitely a positive for you for sure. The move really helps money-wise for some of these smaller teams but the cup series teams were flying people into standalone races to do the crew and some of them have their own crews. I guess but a lot of the Rian flying flown end so that costed everything kind of brings that cost down but I agree with you. The road course racing is going to change that totally but as far as the racing product on track. It's not going to change that very much. Yeah I think you know it's not going to change the especially at the Iowa and the places like that Barocco where the fast guys stay up front so yeah. I think that's GonNa be the only place where you really see a difference in this new. Whatever you WANNA call? It rule changed. But I think it's going to be just normal Iowa and you can still pit when you want to pay it or whatever or you're just GONNA lose positions on pit road which like you said it's a good thing and it does definitely say the teams a lot of money if anything. It might make the racing a little bit better just because so you know if you have a guy like Ryan SEGER Jeremy Clements. That doesn't necessarily have the pick crew caliber of a pin skier Stewart. Haas if they can get up to sixth seventh or eighth or whatever or you know they can stay there now so dropping back five or six spots in a pit road so it's probably GonNa make the racing better the short tracks but you know it's hard to say I was going to do of course is this for you is. Is this the first time that you've since you've stock cars. You'll be in the same car two years in a row saint team but like same actual type of car era xfinity car in two thousand eighteen. I gotta run up not full-time. This will be the first time I've ever in two seasons full-time back. toback Gotcha so there's something to be said for that. I think a full year under your belt is going to be going to be good. Yeah I think you know last year specifically you know the first half of the year to the second half of the year was day now to be able to start the first half of the year where we ended the second half. I think

"Of, all whoever got that interview can you? Get a better freaking, Mike, they're like a boom. Microsoft, and that was horrible well I think he was interviewing Tony to write an article did not realize that the audio would need to be made public because, so many people? Were questioning are you. Sure that's what he said he. Wanted to run. The Indy? Five. Hundred, wait are. You sure. Okay In all. Of that in. All of that? Now You my credentials in the Tony Stewart fan. Club I'm a? Lifelong member right and Mike intials in the Bush free zone are lifelong but Kurt Busch ran the n. b. five hundred finished sixth in. Front of some serious competitors and was extremely competitive. Himself. So that's one thing that I might disagree with Tony he didn't win, and I don't know that he, was competitive to win maybe didn't have a. Winning car but he, ran? Sixth out of thirty three That's pretty awesome You know danika I don't think she ran six more than once and. How, many, tries so yeah That's, what I'm saying she got fourth. Once she was leading in. The final ten, laps after a restart and she got the turn one she was eighth or. Something, so Yeah let's let's let's be a little circumspect. On how we just throw water, on one off drivers at the end of five hundred no I'm with you there because yeah Kurt Busch is one off for the, Indy five hundred was like you said just. Mad talent and yeah proved that he could do it and Fernando Alonzo even. Though he went out with a blown engine with I. Think twenty, some odd. Lapse to go he also was always competitive that month and practice and qualifying enduring the race I think Fernando led a couple of apps as well so yeah there. Are it just depends, on, the, driver if they're going to be a, sideshow or if they're going to be a. Legit competition when it comes to the Indy five hundred and I think Tony Stewart Greenwich. He might have to lose some LBJ's but. I think he absolutely would be, legit this is a race that it, means a ton to him. Growing up in central. Indiana and we've. Seen Tony Stewart win in everything he's a former IndyCar champion granite, that's when the split was going. On but he's a NASCAR. Champion He's a dirt he's a. Sprint car midget you name it he's a champion of everything he's driven he could totally. Do it and not be a sideshow what. Tony Stewart reminds me of statman, Tony Stewart Kyle Larson and others of, that ilk it's like gosh Okay here you. Go like a Stevie. Wonder there are several. Albums were Stevie Wonder early. In the. Seventies played every freaking instrument on his album songs in. The Kia? Life one of the best albums ever, done, playing that for my daughter today. In pool, so Tony Stewart. You put him in anything and he can drive it and he could drive it well there there are certain instruments that Stevie. Wonder's better at but he he can play the piano the drums the guitar the. Bass The triangle play, ball, well but, I'm sure there's one that he excels it Tony Stewart I'm sure excels at something. But, it's the dirt or NASCAR or IndyCar but it's you, look at guys like that and it's, such a, different breed, that yeah Now there might be some, risks for Tony Stewart but it's just in his blood that's just just what you, do Nuts I can't blame the. Guy and I've promised to get. To the story about Roger Penske saying that he, would like to have Tony Stewart I'll just tell you about. Roger Penske said that it's been a dream of his. But Tony Stewart.
