"He points at the surface of the race track. That will tell us how hot the race track is and that helps him determine how he wants to set my tire pressures and he pointed the temperature gun inside my car and it was one hundred and fifty degrees inside the car. So you're sweating like crazy. In fact. I think tony stewart. Who's retired now. But he was one of the famous nascar drivers He they did an experiment with him where he Would they weighed him before. And after a race and he lost ten pounds of of sweat like water waves. people always ask on. That's one of the common questions. I got when i was raising. Do you ever have to go to the bathroom during those long races. And i'm like no. You're sweating it all out. He would never have to pee in the race card. Because you're sweating crazy. Don't do you have the bill so typically in the racist you did along. Were you in the car..

Apocalyptic Battle for Take-Out Dollars: Uber Eats Pits Star Wars against Star Trek

"A. From wondering David Brown and this is business wars daily on this Wednesday September thirtieth. It's hardly a stretch to say that the pandemic has been delivery services, best friend, take-out meals, or so much more attractive when we're avoiding other people that's meant a surge in revenue for leaders and Hungary rivals Uber Eats and door dash in the second quarter ubereats. Gross delivery bookings totaled almost seven billion dollars a jump of well over one hundred percent from q one. Before we all started eating in as a privately held company door dashes keeping a lot of data to itself but the number of people using dash doubled from ten million last year to twenty million now according to research firm Emarketer. Possibly, to Ubereats Chagrin Jordache became so ubiquitous that it was responsible for more than half of all US meal delivery in April. Wow. That's according to market researcher. Edison Trans last week linked in named DOOR DASH number two on its list of top fifty startups based in part on exuberant hiring plans. The companies expected to go public by the end of the year Uber eats holds about thirty percent of US market share despite their rapid growth neither door dash nor ubereats has yet turned a profit chew on. Then these rivals are employing ever more creative marketing strategies in their efforts to. Become or remain top takeout dog ubereats constructed a quirky ad campaign that celebrates competition itself a sort of Meta Mezei the latest ads featuring unusual rivalry between get this star wars and star Trek. They star none other than Mark Hamill Luke skywalker in star wars and Sir. Patrick Stewart's Star Trek's Captain John Luc Picard they compete ferociously almost grimly in games of air hockey and connect for. But when an uber driver delivers a delectable dish, each breaks the foreboding mood to politely thanked the driver in this Ad. Stewart. Armed with Cricket Bat and Hamill carrying a baseball bat in a dark empty warehouse. Tonight. I'll be eating a Veggie cheeseburger. On Shibata. No tomatoes. Tonight I'll be eating four cheese. Tortellini. With extra tomorrow. Tony. Stewart so it's come to the. Thank you. Proper. Part of what makes the spot? So amusing is that the argument tomato tomato is, of course from the classic George Gershwin. Song, let's call the whole thing off. But of course, neither UBER EATS NOR DOOR DASH is planning to call the whole thing off quite the opposite if takeout became essential in March, it's remaining. So in could see even more growth this winter, a second wave of the virus causes more lockdowns. In Uber Eats case, the company says the campaign celebrating rivalries already been a huge success in Australia Taiwan Japan, where it launched last year and ad featuring Kim Kardashian and a fictional Australian character pushed uber eats brand awareness in Australia two levels quote on par with McDonnell's the company told Ad Week the new Stewart Hamill Lads bring the campaign to the US in Canada but whether the cleverness of ubereats his ad campaign can steal away

"On the holidays. You can always ring up Tony Stewart, and he's obligated to play because he's the inspiration behind it. The recently we had just this last month. Clear the shelters was a big mission that happened all around the country, and it's been a crazy phenomenon often times you've got to put out there, you know, adopt. Don't shop and raise awareness and get people to To understand to go in there and adopt dogs. Those that are initiated, understand? Know the purpose and ah and all on board. But there was a big initiative and and so one of the And I guess it's a silver lining of the pandemic. It's hard to look for those because there's so much obvious negativity based around just the situation, but a lot of the shelters are clearing out. You know, there are so many people That are looking to the shelters and adopting pets. Animals. Specifically, dogs talk a little bit about either your thoughts on that is that is that the right Is this something that you think is the right thing is this sort of? I don't want to say the word isn't a fad. Like how do you see what's happening in the shelters? Today. Yeah, it's really interesting, and that has been a great line. But the pandemic people have been home a lot horns and hopefully a lot of those people are going to maintain that time at home that they wanted to get a dog for the family friend Tina For exercise. People don't think about like when you have a dog. It's not just something you have to take care of it something that loves you unconditionally. But it also gets you outside to get you moving and get you walking when it's freezing cold when it's really hot, like wealthy looking at me, and you take it on a walk. God, you're proving to be good for your heart and just touching and petting a dog. Relax with people and and bring that stress level down. The dogs have a lot of benefits for humans and well, and I think it's been off before getting dark. It's funny in our neighborhood alone there. Six houses on our street have all gotten a dog, a puppy or a little bit older. And some of us can't shelter So I've looked thing now watching that kind of phenomenon happening. All these dogs in our neighborhood. The only downside I love here the shelter because it gets awareness out there. The news jumped on and media likes to write the word, you know, come in a lot of them off. A lot of these shelters are offering the adoptions. You know, you just Take out your dog in and off you go. But there's a downside to that. In normal circumstances on people have jobs and such. They end up bringing a lot of those dogs back because they realized Oh, man, I don't have time for this dog this puppy, choose these things up, and I can't deal with it anymore. So that is a downside to those of the shelter day, so I always try to help people. No shelter. Always there. They always have animals. When you know it's the right time and you're ready to commit to a life of a dog. Then you can go check it out, and the adoption fees are nothing If you can't afford $100 to adopt the dog, and maybe you shouldn't get a dog because of what comes within which medical expenses and such, so we're always careful about clear to shelter things, even though There are great benefits to having. No Now you mentioned that you've you've gotten dogs from around the country and just your work. The nature of it takes you all over the nation on a regular basis. But as a person who's in around in one of those leading voice is kind of in. This arena is Are there places you know that and we reached 38 states in Canada at night here at W. G. N. So we've got a big signal, of course, the world you know, can here you know that we're all connected. Are there places in the country where there is either more of a need? To adoption. Let's save listeners are hearing this now and they're thinking the local shelters, you know, maybe don't have a lot of a lot of dogs. Or maybe there's other place in the country where you know they really need some more help. Or there's an issue with this. What have you seen Jamie? Hold that thought. We're late for a record and come back and continue our conversation with Fox Sports is Jamie Little it stay near on 7 20. Will you G n Hey,.

Chase Briscoe confirmed at Stewart-Haas Racing for 2020

"Risky brisky is in studio. What's happening what's up chase briscoe nothing? I'm busy busy busy whole big time over here. I'll know about that has re upped with Tony Stewart at Stewart House Racing Gene Haas to compete again in the expended series. And I could be more exciting. I thought you were awesome last year in the car. You know got win in Iowa and I think you should contend for a championship. Don't you think yeah I think yeah pretty good you know. We don't have a ton of changes. I mean roles wise. It's the same. We have a new body on the Mustang. But yeah I mean there's going to be the first time in my career I've been able to go back with the same team in the same crew chief so looking forward to what do you think of the new pitstop procedures that were just announced. Yeah I just saw literally about thirty minutes ago but I think you you know at Iowa. I don't really think it's going to change anything but I do feel like at the road courses. It's GonNa Change them completely because there's no more short pitting anymore. There's no more flipping stages so so for me. I think it's a little bit worse. Because now you're going to have awesome syndrome out front in maintaining track position the hallway. So it's going to make it harder. I think to win the road course races because it's GonNa take a lot of the strategy out of it but it's hard to say right now we haven't done it yet so it's hard to say what it's going to be like but yeah I think it's going to be easier to maintain track position on a road course so fast on a road course. I think it's definitely a positive for you for sure. The move really helps money-wise for some of these smaller teams but the cup series teams were flying people into standalone races to do the crew and some of them have their own crews. I guess but a lot of the Rian flying flown end so that costed everything kind of brings that cost down but I agree with you. The road course racing is going to change that totally but as far as the racing product on track. It's not going to change that very much. Yeah I think you know it's not going to change the especially at the Iowa and the places like that Barocco where the fast guys stay up front so yeah. I think that's GonNa be the only place where you really see a difference in this new. Whatever you WANNA call? It rule changed. But I think it's going to be just normal Iowa and you can still pit when you want to pay it or whatever or you're just GONNA lose positions on pit road which like you said it's a good thing and it does definitely say the teams a lot of money if anything. It might make the racing a little bit better just because so you know if you have a guy like Ryan SEGER Jeremy Clements. That doesn't necessarily have the pick crew caliber of a pin skier Stewart. Haas if they can get up to sixth seventh or eighth or whatever or you know they can stay there now so dropping back five or six spots in a pit road so it's probably GonNa make the racing better the short tracks but you know it's hard to say I was going to do of course is this for you is. Is this the first time that you've since you've stock cars. You'll be in the same car two years in a row saint team but like same actual type of car era xfinity car in two thousand eighteen. I gotta run up not full-time. This will be the first time I've ever in two seasons full-time back. toback Gotcha so there's something to be said for that. I think a full year under your belt is going to be going to be good. Yeah I think you know last year specifically you know the first half of the year to the second half of the year was day now to be able to start the first half of the year where we ended the second half. I think

"This week in two thousand six can chesney has the number one country song with summer time at the box office three d movies started to make a big comeback and nascar was at the magic mile in new hampshire kyle busch survived the green white checker finish to win the lenox industrial pu three hundred asked about the second spot for the final time down the backstretch here at new hampshire hamlet to the inside edwards to the outside power by edwards what edwards has anything for kabul arl efforts goes two seconds to carlex behind kyle busch but not close enough kyle busch finally wins in two thousand six and those were just some of the events in this week in nascar history this weekend we're at new hampshire motor speedway and for a preview here's suzy armstrong thank you woody the monster energy nascar cup series teams head to new england this week for the foxwoods resort casino three a one at new hampshire motor speedway kentucky winner martin exterior strikes out for the flat mile with momentum on his side hoping to finally close the deal and take the checkers in the granite state over the years for i mean i've been there so long so i have a ton of history there and i've won the bush north races up their few times i've won one race there and this cup wins really been in may so it would be a big one too to win there we've been so close we've led a tunnel apps past i don't know three years or so and man we just haven't been able to to lead the last one hampshire top ten in the books austin dillon plans to be judicious with changes through practice sessions and bring home his best career finish in lobster country stained discipline and not worrying about the first practice you know the practices it's hard to not adjust your car to get faster but the track always changing the rovers laying down it gets tighter and tighter and you start off so free there so trying to keep up with the judgments is a big part of that and being smart about adjustments you make knowing that it's going to be different when you go to raise david reagan's exploits on the tough mile have not been all that fruitful over the years and the veterans still struggles to get a handle on the level corners there's not a lot of artificial grip at new hampshire when you drive one hundred sixty miles an hour into those corners you you have to use a lot of breaks and you don't have a lot to lean on and so really takes a lot of mechanical grip and it's easy to overslept attires so new hampshire is one of those tracks general you'll have one or two cars that really get hooked up and they dominate the race and everybody else is rice and hard for physicians degreen flies over the thoughts with resort casino three oh one new hampshire motor speedway sunday afternoon just after two pm eastern for this week's nascar live race preview i'm suzy armstrong okay thanks susie we're really looking forward to new hampshire motor speedway we also want to send our thanks to tony stewart ryan newman christopher bell and the guys that speedway for joining us on today's show mike bags back from special assignment next week until then thank you for joining us here on nascar live nascar live is a production of the motor

"It takes to get the balance where these drivers like it how big is it to have tony gibson kinda steering that ship and not being on the road now a guy who can make sure that everything that comes out of there is consistent yeah absolutely it's you know i had reservations about tony coming off the road and you understand why i mean it's you know he was here long before i series yeah and so you look at it and you're like yeah i i can understand why he wants to get off the road now but selfishly i'm like i don't want him off the road yet to see what impact he's had on the floor at the shop and how he's been able to really organize and and really lead the floor aspect of s hr and where the cars are being prepared and assembled to have somebody like him that's down there organized and all that and watching over it is is it's comforting like i say i think that's part of the process of showing you know when you don't throw too many curve balls out there you know that was a major change but i wouldn't call to curve ball but i think that was one of those changes the you know i think zippy and and gibson new at the effect of that was going to be more so than i knew at the time until i saw it happen he's about like meet and have much hair left but how much more did he lose it looked like you guys we're going to have to run the the allstar aero package multiple races instead of just that when this year i imagine people going oh oh i might lost some hair if that happened it's i'm not sure we were all totally opposed to it but it's you know it's expensive thought there's a lot that goes into it the people don't realize anytime nascar makes any kind of change it immediately costs the teams money and you know so as it's we all have to be careful we're not having full feels like we used to have so we need to be conscious of what the budgets are what changes are being made in how we can all work together to you know keep steering the ship you know from the sports side of it and keep growing the sport but the same time not run people out of the sport as well so you know it's a it's a delicate balancing act but you know it's something that nascar had to deal with from its inception you know it's they didn't they didn't become successful by making too many bad decisions so you know i think it's something that will be revisited down the road but for now it's something that you know i think the teams are low uncomfortable with the the process of how much it's gonna cost to do it when that momentum started to grow and it looked like we might have multiple races with it is that a function when they pulled back saying the communication level is better now than it ever has been between the teams at laurie decision making and you know i mentioned a couple years ago when the the driver council started in then you have the representatives from one one from each of the.
