"You watch this comedy you may be missing of golf which I enjoy they're the cable guys joining us right now is Larry procedure taken time to come on here and how's the comedy world gone no I play golf Warner do comedy he loves also you boy I tell you what I used to hate gold and now I love it to death you know did you see my bank shot there will be a couple weeks ago yeah I've I was watching everybody man I was like you just I I I love seeing you out there and playing all of them Tony Roma's hello golfer too but a lot of people don't know who really calls and met some of these guys take it super serious well that's the thing I go look it's all about when they have these pro am charity event is all about raising money and that kids in the end projects they have in the area and you know golf a lot of people don't know this but through these tournaments golf is the number one charitable organization and support golf is given over three billion dollars communities across the United States the so that's why they're fun to play and then you have a good summer bad I'm the only person by the way in the history of golf to ever appear on the golf channel and court TV on the same day that's regulations on that by the way people don't know you're a lefty as well little Phil Mitchell Mickelson with that bank shot that you're right you know he does that seven poll he had was good he didn't see mine but you know I've told me here we go to the range and hit on the range and but here's the thing about bill he's not a real live here right handed so he does not have the court the yield bona fide Lafayette so I don't know he's not in my book is not really I love him to death but he is not a real lefty I well I'm a real lefty I do everything left and he's actually writing and that is you are you more of a ball the fan Bob Watson your available which we plan let me see yeah a little bit but we don't want to go beyond the goal pick up in one of my first set of clubs and I used to play in a golf tournament down there so I'm a I'm a big fan a big fan of but I've but I but I enjoyed it I I enjoyed playing it and it it is a different sport special when you get older and yet and yet they gave ten year average shape but you can't play your favorite sports like baseball you know I've used baseball softball I can't get down on the ground are no more but I can at least a goal you can still every now and then make your shot to the broken may so there you go thank you Larry the cable guy's gonna be out here a couple shows eight PM ten thirty PM Friday March twentieth at the healer river hotel and casino all right so here we go your rock and roll in the world of comedy you started out just call into radio shows you've built yourself this amazing thing comedies change over the last couple decades political correctness is common how is it in this day and age where you you know even touching something that you think it's about nine subject that nobody would really care about can can backfire well you know there's still some of us out there that still do comedy and like we want to do comedy and yeah I'm glad you're pale came out did this special because he's actually somebody that the media lie you know there's a lot of us out there the media did not get that we've always done great packed out theatres marine is you know work yes Sir I was not a long time ago that political correctness is gonna kill the feel of comedy you know there's been a couple comedians in Canada that have already been to somebody was upended hopefully that doesn't come to the United States you know what I've just always done comedy like this look did you like your comedians go see the comedian if you don't like the comedian don't go see the comedian I have never figured out why people can't just throw back in the day you years ago state committee and and you would leave the show what he there's a black guy is very not like them here by C. they or you would say black guys suck that could care less about see that guy again yeah you got people going not only did that guys thanks almost as soon made sure he had ever been stand up again yes that is it's crazy it is it is of fourth grade mentality I so you know there's still a lot of us that don't care we go out we do our jokes yeah we do like you know we used to be you know we if you don't like it don't go to the show if you like it then go to the show I mean it's a free country there's different kinds of sodas and and and beer and yet like the bay area by the bear you don't like it you then you don't drink it you know you know you know you don't call them up and put them out of business because it doesn't taste good I believe it's the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life but it has the you know what my crowd you're awesome and it doesn't affect the way I do anything I'm still gonna if I find it funny I think my god you're gonna find it funny then I'll do it now I will say when I first started doing stand up I was single and I was married I didn't have kids and I did jokes that I thought were funny and you know it is and that but then I got married and of course my acting is a little bit then I got kids and when you get kids a lot of things change so you know the older I get and the more I think about you know when you're young and stupid yes say anything you want and then you get older and you have kids that you think about thank you did you go you know what I'm not gonna do that you're okay I'm I don't do jokes like this anymore Magda and yes because you know I got kids and now I understand certain things that I did not understand I mean I get that kind of stuff but you know okay the all that is that is the place to go and sit and enjoy enjoy a laugh yeah and absolutely and we don't do that anymore no you don't and it just takes all that pressure off of you know doctors prescribe people sometimes say total got go get go have some last man the best thing for you today is just to go and let it out and have some laughs and that's that's one of the decade's worth comedy is always bad for but I'm with you the political correctness is gonna it lives ruined so many things in our society I hope it doesn't sleep in the comedy and there are still a bunch of us out there that do comedy and we we could care less about who likes it who does that because we are Americans and we do our comedy under the guise of freedom and the old adage if you don't like trump and then dealers don't participate in that don't buy their help absolutes artillery cable guys so what is your question here we are the world of you know you've been doing this a long time did you know Larry that like you know what I've made it right because I was I was asked people like you know because you hear stories about Eddie Murphy stand it wasn't until he did like nutty professor too that he realized that he had made it was always waiting for that you didn't make it you gotta get a real job situation when did you know you make I would say when the first cars movie came out and I didn't even realize at the time how huge those water when I get it that's when I realized wow this is really that was even a level above everything else I mean here I'd been poor and I've been doing arenas and selling out you know doing twelve thousand people at night but everything so quick you're going to do the show you get on the bus go to the next town he didn't really I didn't really understand I mean I knew I was doing good but I didn't really understand you know but I knew we were doing really well and we were getting successful but when the movie cars came out my voice came on and it was a major motion picture and they had that huge mayor at the Charlotte motor speedway in and then John last year one to meet and see the show and I go up there and I'm introduced and Paul Newman Chuck Berry and that's at that minute that's when I said wow this is really this is really crazy so I do have one cars came out everything else it happened so fast it was a whirlwind but when cars came out I had the chance to actually you know just didn't just sit back and watch it materialized and and so I I would say that was probably the the moment but I will say some this crazy what about Steve Martin's book on comedy he said the one thing that he wishes he would have done in his career was enjoy your stand up career because it was a whirlwind to have but it only done it for a year and a half at the most you know doing arenas of anyone on the movies and and I look he had his date book is book and showed what he was doing and the numbers that he was doing and it was just like looking at my own schedule I worked every single one of those arenas that he added that but with the same amount of crowds and it was just really cool to see and so it's it's been a lot of fun but I would say those cars movies that's that's when I knew I did a call because there's you thought doing the arenas was one level but by guy here gave me a big Hollywood Pixar cars well these that was a whole nother level above that level yeah that's pretty much as bad as I used to get that sauce where the cable guys last question preview coming on what a world of of crazy political obvious you're in the entertainment field I run I have a lot of friends are going to Los Angeles friends were actors or directors or producers we differ politically you Louis blacker are are are you guys were tighter you still tight well we weren't looking who is black and I were really good friends Lewis black if I used.

"He Tony Roma yes it would Tony Romo always hated and help I appreciate the call their chip Tony was a good player and Tony is he's becoming the analysts like I don't know if it's my a football or it's fox or just seizing at CBS someone's right again ten million dollars a year to call NFL games that's what he's asking for I think is worth it like as the fan of an NFC team the Panthers you know I don't get to watch a lot of Tony recommend rule fanboy over here yeah he watched as as someone were it and as the market we don't get to watch Tony Romo lot like raising call on eagles games if you were to go to fox or seven football did be a huge thing that they have him on that kind of level specially if you call eagles cancer consistently that be fun he's really good I I I think he's fun to listen to like all analysts with that would later they analyze the play minutes that you could enter changed one for the other yeah I'm gonna get a lot of different stuff but I think he's good I think is interesting and there was only will get upset that he's predicting too many plays you go back once the Kansas city New England title game last year he would put the whole last drive for the patriots whose call plays out I think it's fun like I know for some people like they get upset like Hey I want to be surprised I think for a casual fan or someone who may not know that much about football for before the play a guy to say Hey this guy is getting the ball I think it probably makes the game more enjoyable because you understand it as it's going forward and I I look I think it's impressive and I I think most analysts are free to do it because you're gonna be wrong a lot like you may have a knowledge of their offense but you don't exactly know the places that you're putting yourself out there you're you're willing to be wrong we will have you just analyze the plane after it happens every play you're never going to be wrong you just giving an opinion publica McFarland would disagree well yeah I mean bookers the asking for spikes on fourth down so you I I think we're all done with Booker let's talk to Derek in Philadelphia what's up Derek every man are you don't hear me got to Derek without but Hey Matt first time caller may have been in Philly for about three years now from the bay area I've got two things first thing in the Sixers man I know the one tonight I understand but what is the ultimate goal for the seventy Sixers someone effect piece of correct yes it doesn't seem like that's what everyone's looking at right now I've been his door then it's not going to get through there the way he is right now you guys have to be realistic he's a six ten rondo rondo shoots more than dancing in your number last year one and Yanis the play that result on him and I said I'm down correct yes yes we're right is this the same situation is going to close the road of those of course thanks playoff time it's a half or six whenever I have four said Dennis no where to be found you play is only beginning over SO especially late in games you know Derek later later in the game yeah it's and you're right I mean well it's a ninety played well I think he's going to play well we went out to on the court because I I think some as they get each other's way but moving forward into the playoffs the bands we at the Benson as we have now is not ready is not needed he asked I don't understand it was a psychological thing well I can just doesn't I play basketball for a living if someone is giving you will have enough for a live you know I just play basketball you know so if someone is giving you fifteen feet and you're not shooting the ball like it's a mental thing something is definitely going on here like when someone has to address the good morning four to six of them going to be the Sixers they're not in use feel beating any team in the west right now seven games like don't be realistic no no not even that one would love to be real right now they wouldn't get out of these they would be Milwaukee right now that what you're gonna do when when when when they play that's going on what do you do the next year you know he came back but yeah you fix this flaw and that's why that's why he's ease of all you have is a great player you might win back to back in the peace so what do I do think James harden averaging thirty a two game certainly had to say about it but it doesn't it just doesn't make sense to me like you know what everyone is telling you your flight eagle thing is that a mental something someone has to address the situation or you got a ship but what I will be honest it means not doing he's not going to shoot you got a simple mountain man and I'm not trying to be mean the Philadelphia fans I know you guys love then but if you want to win championships and this man is not shooting you're not gonna win yeah you're right listen you know and I appreciate the call good call when you call when you call the show were report about be mean a player's or team's just give us your take to save space if this is a safe space for four hours a night for whatever your take is and and I I said Iraq October November vendors and approved by the all star game they have to consider trading now the question is that change because no Joe well and they're not gonna trade than this season but I I do I stand by it if he does it involve they have to trade in my youth it won't work long term you can't have been enjoy all together in less one guy and bad being that guy changes his game a little bit all right fun show tonight John Burchard has your next for four hours you guys listen the Barchester I'll be with you tomorrow night at six we got four hours we're gonna play talk about I'm sure when we.

I like I like what listen to Tony Roma you know there's a couple games or eat you get that quarterback point of view and he's like yeah I use these and are here to say it is doing this and then play goes does it there so it's pretty cool to see that get that quarterback point of view from the announcer standpoint thanks for the time. coming up our assistant coach of the week right after this. "When you watch these player interviews do sort of evaluate I think this guy's gonna make it at least instinctual if you get it I sense when you see these guys after the game and everything no it's it's it's socializing with them because I never would have thought Rodney Harrison would have been good in this business just because he you know in the patriot way you don't say anything and it's it was hard to take anything away from that go well Roddy could be an analyst you we used to make fun of Tony Roma yeah saying anything yet he famously didn't say anything but you know what then I think Brett Farr has the ability to do what I did know Randy moss was going to be good I'm restraining disappoint yes it is Tony Matt Hasselbeck I knew from one of the first few times I was ever around him that he was going to do this trying to think who will tell you brew ski I had no idea what he would be like thank is J. "After that, we were in the living room watching TV at think there were two different couches and we were under blankets one on each couch just watching TV and talking. And when I left, he gave me a piece of paper with his name and his number on it, and I still have that piece of paper. They kept it all these years. So there were some things any kept from the Dairy Queen dumpster because she didn't want to forget everything. There were good times like her first date with Jim because side note thanksgiving dinner at your mom's house doesn't count as a first date. We went to Tony Roma's. I was so nervous that I'd eaten all day without stopping, and then I couldn't eat anything at dinner when we went for dinner, classic classic. There was a baby who started crying the table next to ours at our first date, and I rolled my eyes. And he said, oh, metoo. And so we joked that we decided honored. I ate that we never wanted kids of our own. Somewhere out there. There's a mother at Tony Roma's right now thinking is my kid turning people off to parenting. And the answer is yes, they are, and my children have done the same at every noodles and company in the twin cities area. It's just what they do. I get it. Jim may not have been the best dressed guy, but sweet kind. And so much of love is really in those little kindnesses that we show the person we're with those little things just add up to the big things when we were dating, I got really severe food poisoning and he came over brought me medicine cleaned up my bathroom. Which, how long have you been dating at that point? Oh my goodness. Maybe a month. Ooh, that's like that's love. Had already said you loved each other. I don't think so. He showed you that day. Look, I'm not afraid of all these bodily functions. Yes before, yes. Love is gross. I love it. Tell me another story. Oh gosh. At our wedding. I had gotten a mosquito bite, and I scratched it and my skin got infected. And so I had this really humongous heart lump on my leg. And I took just a handful of Benadryl before our wedding, and I joked that I can't remember any of it. So I don't know if it counted. But after the wedding we changed clothes and drove to the urgent care so that I could get antibiotics and and he gave up the the usual wedding night festivities. Because I had a heating pad wrapped around my leg and was taking in -biotics and not feeling well. So. And you're like better worse right away. Right. Exactly. Dear jim. Where should I even start. I feel like I didn't even know you. I can't reconcile the kind man. You were with the person who put a shotgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger for a months ago. I can't reconcile the man who said he only wanted to be happy with the person who blew off the top of his skull with a shotgun. I can't reconcile me who catches bugs in the house and puts them outside instead of killing them being married to a person who could commit this alternate at device 'Lance on himself. More..

"Everybody ceasefire before i started throwing things go ahead anyway jesus well go ahead anyway players and coaches of the national football league are going to be conquered clearing and talking to players reps as well as talking to each other to find out you know if they should keep playing as may preseason games as big to play because during the preseason phil a lot of getting hurt the quarterback of the dallas cowboys pulling ormeau is now uh went to the upper house with feasiility fractured vertebrae in his back in the regular season he's going to be out for at least half the season and i doubt seriously with an injury like that he's going to be back this year tall didn't like yeah it was able to break that was fractured iin is back and so the coaches and players are all they're saying hey what's what gives you know why do i have to go out there and put my bug on the line and to be possibly injured for you know i could die i could die in the ember for what uh in a preseason game that's a really good point preseason games billed as sort of tuneups there billed as ways of evaluating the players and you'll let the fans come out and see it's like halfway between training camp in the regular season but they're hitting and there uh as i heard one of the coach john harbas say you know they're running at high speed these guys are big sas guys they're out there and even if the preseason game to looking to impress the are looking to make the roster and they're going to lay innocent people in this series injuries that are happening and that just to a tony roma but to a lot of players a lotta guys are getting hurt their our europe to what do you think about that hug what about what sort of again my name's john what a.

"Tom brady without cam new got off to a pretty slow start tony roma without the game is sold by quarterback and in manning's case in particular that's ten national windows where he's not play where are you now have another team playing national windows meeting any gave that any of us watch and that's inevitably gonna be a lower rated game so i think the nfl came across a lot of things that hit them early in the year from a lack of quarterbacks to really not very many great games early to the fact that we had this once in a generation election where you had a reality star who was causing news on a daily basis i think he combined all those forces as well as the market forces with younger people watch differently and that's where you so you're decline richard um i brought this up during the season to a couple of uh high ranking nfl officials and i asked the question you know how you guys counting the red zone i mean that's got to affect each networks rating when you're bouncing back from show to show team to team game the game um i can watch a game on thursday night on twitter which i have there's so many other ways to consume it that you know a a as the giants plan on a monday night or sunday night and i'm home up with the nfl mix channel on which has all the game you know six games on my screen or eight games on my screen at once and then i'll highlight the one i just wanna go to through direct tv y'all i ask what's the mechanism to manage that what's the mechanism for the rating point when i'm watching the game streamed on my phone and they didn't have a real tangible answer as to how they can actually count all of those viewers and then attributed to a network for a rating.

"Just more fun to act but you're a man on fire should have been the end he should have blown up and literally could have been a man on firearm with toby nick from whittier utah as why ever and say tony roma's going be great on tv and that saying he won't be but what does he than to receive such praise you of our people are critical of announcers it looks like a really hard job so brand cardis from the ringer has been on this bandwagon for a while he said tony has not really given any interesting interviews and by ten years he always just defaulted to being as i don't dunno as as purposely bland as possible to not make any waves i basing all my announcer guesses on roma's future here from one night i spent with romeo at jimmy kimmel's house with cousin sow were we watched a cardinals packers game and he broke down the game for us the entire game and then we went out to dinner and he did imitations of quarterbacks throwing footballs and just went to a whole new level of analysis and was so engaging about it that i left the dinner thinking that guy's going to be the next barkley now the question is is that just a private side of him or cane he actually figure out how to be had to do that in public so they do this news conference where they announced said he's going to be a.
