I only know it's a competition that makes this weary pirate's heart so well with pride watching video video, Jeffries wearing a really tattered pirate wig pirate flag around his shoulder injury. I mean, a musket, a little mustard on I must save. Even though I said I was never going to do it. Captain. Blue bottom would rather walk the plank? Aye. Said E would rather fully with Davy Jones in his locker. Oh, wow. But I've been left with no choice today. I will be singing a jolly old super duper Sunday Sea shanty wanted this so badly. Yeah, I'm going to do it. You guys, I never thought you'd come around. Thinks you've been talking about it for weeks. I really did not want to be Oh, trends gonna go away way to drop on that viral trend Two weeks later, it's after all the texts, all the e mails, all the pressure from management. I'm waving the white flag because if you didn't know there's a big craze on Tic Tac with people singing Shanti's old sailing songs from the 1600 s. So that's what I'm gonna try to do today. With my song of the week I'm gonna makes the music of the sea with the big football game this Sunday and it's not just about the game. It's about how we're gonna watch it this year Because of all the covert rules and guidelines. There's probably not gonna be a lot of big parties and get togethers and there shouldn't be Yeah. So we need to all brace ourselves for the reality that this event is going to be different and a lot of us. Probably. You're just gonna be watching it on our own couch all by ourselves. That's okay. Go pirates. Very independent people. Yes. Yeah, that's why not those alone. I'm going with it in honor of the big game this Sunday. Between the Bucks and the Chiefs instead of singing the sea shanty. "Him. Yeah. So, yeah, he's talking about. He's talking about the Davidson version of Steph Curry. By the way, when you go back and look at those highlights now, I mean, Steph looks like he's £47. I mean, it looks like he stepped right out of the movie Big. Remember the whole movie Big when Tom Hanks here goes back in time, and he's got the adult clothes on the kid's body. That's what stuff look like any time prior to being in the MBA, and even a little bit early in the You know, in the in the lightning warrior jerseys that that Monta Ellis used to don But now all the sudden it's just completely different. It's a mean so like a different lifetime. He looks like a different human being. We've experienced so much with them and boy if LeBron had been able to forecast, then How many times the two of them would match up at the highest of levels. That's that's in a pretty pretty amazing vision. But remember all of the questions about whether or not this guy's body and all that would hold up a the NBA level LeBron saw it. Problems like No, I got knows what he's doing. Knows what he's doing. He's got good bloodlines, and he's gonna be a player. If only the T wolves had less into him. Gosh, what a disaster That would have been to have never experienced. What we've all got no experience. So that was that was a whole lot of fun. Okay, Speaking of a whole lot of fun, so Tony Robo for years. Now as an analyst, sort of, like made his name partially by being Rome. Oh, but partially by being the guy who could kind of call out what was about to happen. Before happened. Well, I've never seen him more forcefully wrong than he was on the last play of the game between the Chiefs and Browns. Where he clearly stated he goes. They're not running a play here. It is fourth down. They're going to punt. They're trying to draw the bronze offside. Look at their body language. They're not going anywhere. And then poof. They run a play and he didn't mind being wrong. He sounded like a kid on Christmas. There is a play penny rolling out. Throws it. She served me C championship game gets its way sucked everybody. I mean that. Is it possible? I've never seen it. That's why we can. No one thinks you're snapping it..

Remember there was a huge controversy. It was at the time. Heck, yeah, at the time. Yes, it was all right. So seems so trivial. Now. Doesn't that e mean it just seems like to me back then? Yeah, I know. Yes, one of that, Uh, was that the last time? We talked about Jessica Simpson. Hmm. Maybe. Whatever happened to Jessica Simpson? I hadn't thought about her. You know, since then, probably until I saw the article recently, Right talking about her £100 weight loss. Yes, yes. I was going to say Have you seen her lately? She looks She looks great, but it does now. Yes, sir. Losing on so she will be shortly after that. She gained 100. You gotta be kidding. No, she had two kids and that I think that played a role in that. Yes, you're right. Wow. She's beautiful woman. She dropped £100 after her third baby. I got a big baby, and she said that she she did it with by walking 14,000 steps a day. And she had a personal shift. But she lost the £100.6 months after giving birth to her third baby. 14,000 steps a day. Yes. That's your weekly goal in your phone and sure. Yeah, I'm gonna write here. Yeah. 14 Week 14 a week. Always have a great job. One of my three the fan, I think is what it is actually in Dallas with R J choppy and the morning show down there and in Dallas ahead on Jerry Jones today. Sean, Sean and R. J. And this is what Jerry Jones table before we actually played the Jerry Jones clip on the Zack help show. This is what Clarence Hill Jr tweeted out. He's a cowboy's writer since 1997. He covers the team. He said. Jerry Jones said Dak Prescott not being a pull off. The last play of the game against the Seattle Seahawks is the difference between he and Patrick Mahomes or even Tony Robo. They could have pulled it off. Wow. Did I hear that correctly? I didn't really hear it correctly. And to just put that out there. Quarterback We played Sunday is of that kind of nature. He's very His great ability to get in and out and then about make play that played back made it to the end of the game that got intercepted. I love the result of Dax ability that let him get that ball. Was. It was really great and outstanding. Will these guys.

"Stop online. We appreciated Andrew Grant's going to join us in about five minutes. He's a former. Exactly. The Packers does a lot of other things as well. There's a lot to discuss with him. If he thinks the NFL can pull this off, he's got some stuff in his timeline about college football. What they could potentially do. And Jason right is the new President of the Washington football team. That would be significant unless you knew that he was an African American players play. In the NFL and has been hired by the Washington football team is the first African American President in the history of the NFL's will ask the significance of that. With Andrew Brandt in about five minutes. By the way, this became official Chris Fowler and Kirk from Street who of course, called college football for ESPN will take the first ESPN NFL game Steelers at Giants But the regular NFL team Monday night NFL team has been officially announced. Steve Levy, Brian greasy Louis Riddick, When you think of those choices No, we talked about it a while because they kind of announced this before. So Steve Levy is known. He's been a sports center anchor for a long time was a New York Ah, anchor. I believe on F A N Love sake covers the Stanley Cup playoffs, but he's a really good Football broadcaster, His His work on college football is terrific, and he works with Brian greasy on the Denver Broncos preseason games. So they got a nice trip for and they also work a college game. So we kind of knew that was happening and Louis Riddick as well. Lisa Salters and John Perry will be back and Perry's just terrific. At least you could do anything. She is in a bubble with the N BA now. What it tells you is that By having Herb Street. And Fowler do the first Monday night game. That they still ESPN ABC still thinks there's going to be a college football season. Why wouldn't you because it certainly seems as though The Big 12 is gonna play. The S E C is going to play the A. C C is going to play. Ah, and they're going to keep them on that, so the talk was that they would slide them over to Monday night Football. If there was no college, but I think they're preparing and it's too close to the start of the year. Now. I mean, four weeks from to night. Is Monday night Football. I mean, we start this thing. So four weeks from yesterday, the 40 Niners play and I'll be three weeks from Thursday that The Chiefs and Texans play on September the chance so it's upon us, so I think I think they'll be surprisingly strong. The one thing that's amazing to me. Is the report that ESPN and ABC and is neither parent company reached out to Sean McVeigh. To be a broadcaster on Monday night football and I don't think it's for this year. But to face him that kind of money. They must be thinking. We'll pay him Tony Robo, CBS $18 million. A year. I mean, get a $1,000,000 a game. That many players make a $1,000,000 a game. There's no coaches that make a $1,000,000 a game. Get a pitch, you know, is a TV network out someone for being a coach. It is amazing to me and rather inconsistent because I kind of thought they're going to bring Michael's over. And maybe Collinsworth. I don't know, John. But I mean when they laid off so many people in broadcasting to pay one individual that kind of money. Where's the consistency here? But as far as this team You should see Herb Street to do pro football. I mean, we know him so much as a college football guy, but they'll just do the one game and then the interesting thing would be a college football for whatever reason. Does not get played. And the SEC and the A. C. C in the Big 12. Don't play in Notre Dame is not playing. And what do they do? What they ever slide Fowler and herbs straight over to Monday night football every week or is it too late now that they announced this? Probably not, but I think it means that This is going to be their NFL crew and they're gonna keep their crew together with the hope that on a plane right now that there will be college football on Saturday. A CZ faras, ESPN. That's kind of how they have always done business. I've worked for him for a number of years, and they they would pay the top level talent that Dan Patrick's not long term damn bounty with a damn Patrick's and Chris Berman's and so forth. And then there wasn't much of a middle class, and then there was kind of a bottom feeder class. But like you said, the look is not great, especially given the times that were in Levi's okay to me. I always clamor back to when I was growing up in Monday night. Football was such a big deal, and obviously they've tried Peyton Manning. They apparently tried like you, said McVeigh. It's not that I don't think this will be a good broadcast. It's just Levi and Brian greasy. And I'm interested to see what Louis Riddick brings the table. I don't know there. Okay, I think we'll be solid. I don't think they'll be great Monday night football used to be it. And I realized that Sunday night football's it now, But Sunday night football has got a better crew at least McCue rating standpoint Thursday night whether people don't like Joe Buck and trying to get it, but it's a it's a It's a known team. I just think they struck out and all the guys that they're looking for. It's not that I won't watch. That's the other thing, too. If you pay a guy 18 or 20 million bucks like they were talking about with McStay, then he's going to. He's going to have to be like a channel changer to me, and I don't think there's anybody out there like that. I'm gonna watch the game. If it's a good game. I'm not going.

"With Amy Lawrence okay I know that was a significant moment for the NFL and the saints but every single time I hear Zach Strief and deuce McAllister described that miss pass interference call the NFC championship in early two thousand nineteen I laugh just because in the moment McAllister you don't get one you don't get a flag it and it set off backslash is up roaring criticism and V. number one topic of two thousand nineteen in the NFL it was this pass interference role change he carried us all the way through the offseason member Sean Payton is on the competition committee it was talked about it I had no idea over and over and over again how will the NFL changes role how can the NFL prevent this from happening again and we all know by now the league over reacted and instituted replay review for a judgment call and pass interference is doing absolutely nothing creating more consternation it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio good morning to you now that's all behind us is in the rear view mirror but here's what I find so ironic after months and months and months of two thousand nineteen and even into the season when we realize that this new PI wrinkle wasn't actually gonna make a big difference that sure the challenge flags will be thrown but in only the rarest of occasions what a pass interference call or non call actually be overturned as much as that was the focus of two thousand nineteen vats that microscope in that lens that the NFL was so desperate to avoid right that the controversy that's what the NFL wants so badly is to avoid controversy and this negative backlash it's the over reaction they create this rule change it it blows up in their faces that it actually turns out to be an even bigger mess and yet ironically when they decide to get rid of the role that they just instituted a year ago so they they declined to renew it there was a one year trial basis in order to keep it moving forward they were going to have to vote on it again and decided it was going to be a permanent part of the NFL rule book as loud as it was when the role was created that's how dead silent it was when the rule was allowed to die we just if the irony of that and yet typical NFL not wanting to regurgitate this debate not wanting to bring it up the league feels like it's had a pretty healthy conversation this offseason of course the the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Superbowl it was huge for them and you read the sentimental favorite there and B. P. in Patrick Mahomes one of their bright young stars everything's going well despite what happened in our country the NFL is still essentially on on schedule and now moving forward to a virtual draft one of the conversation to be about the draft and about this event they've got coming up not wanting the conversation to be about a failed miserable never should have been instituted a replay review they just wanted with nary a whimper the competition committee just declines to vote on it and there goes the NFL ghosted us with the pass interference rule change and I I'm wondering if the league thought nobody would notice stealthy right it was not only a Friday news dump but even make the news there was no press release there was no Roger Goodell tweet nope quick sorry NFL we can't forget that it ever happened as much as you would like us to but at least moving forward there is no more challenge for pass interference call or no call so at least that's what put to bed just humorous that the league forgot to mention that minor detail it's after hours with Amy lords of VVS sports radio thanks so much for joining us what we're talking about the things did you know drew Brees has a retirement plan and and no it's not his four oh one K. he reportedly has agreed to join the NBC broadcast booth whatever he decides to step away now he is not confirmed it all he will say is that he's focused on the upcoming season and spending time with his family right now during the pandemic NBC will not confirm it and I'm wondering if that's because they needed to break the news to cris Collinsworth first out that cat is out of the bag me yeah now I don't know why no one will confirm it again if it maybe it's because of the delicate situation and other people are losing their jobs I don't know I can't decide this is being handled better or worse than the CVS situation with Phil Simms and Tony robo and and NBC executives stuttering through that conversation at least they don't base cris Collinsworth in person do you think of a text and email by the way whatever drew Brees deduct decides to retire you're out man thanks for all your service we appreciate it see I wouldn't want to be a I hope it wasn't a callous and I really hope he didn't find out by seeing the news on social media but this is what happened over the weekend Intermarche and from the New York Post put the story out on social media that breeze has agreed to join the Sunday night broadcast booth on NBC now things may change by the time Brees is actually retired he just signed another two year deal with the saints and by all accounts even with a torn thumb ligament last year he is still a top flight quarterback he continues the assault on the record books last year was the most accurate quarterback in the NFL yet again one of the top five quarterbacks in terms of passer rating in fact the only QB to have a higher passer rating last season was Ryan Tannehill the the saints won the NFC south in November for heaven's sakes though teddy Bridgewater the defense the rest of the team deserve a ton of credit for that but it doesn't appear as though a whole lot has changed with drew Brees is game even as he's now hit his forties can't thrown as far down hill okay I got that not as much velocity but he's still the most accurate quarterback ever to play the game they can fire you but they can't eat you cris Collinsworth at least you can take that does and keep it close to your heart as you are sequestered and finding out that you're about to lose your job it's true okay we've got no confirmation from NBC or from drew Brees but the idea is that it would be a seamless transition for for breeze not so much for calling for that he would move into the Sunday night booth next to al Michaels assuming Michaels and all also getting transplanted but that breeze will jump to broadcasting whatever he hangs up his cleats now as I mentioned it it may not happen this year it may not happen next year it could be another two years maybe a man decides he wants to be Tom Brady had played only forty five I have no idea but what is interesting is that by the time he gets to the broadcast booth NBC may have expanded its coverage or NBC let's be honest this is also a possibility NBC could have lost some of its gains the NFL on the heels of of getting this new collective bargaining agreement in place and labor peace quote unquote peace for the next ten years the NFL is about to start renegotiating its broadcasting deals because they can now say to their broadcast partners we have labor peace for ten years Hey up let's go how much are you willing to pay up to keep these broadcasts right to keep the right stood to carry games end the NFL's wanting to invite a bidding war right they they want to bring in other entities maybe it's a different network maybe it's Amazon maybe it's Google what whatever the case says they are hoping to to start a bidding war among their current broadcast partners and the ones that they you know would like to do business with in the future related quickly yeah so I don't actually know if NBC is still going to be in the same situation by the time you're Brees retires but again regardless the report is out there that breeze will slide into the NBC broadcast booth whatever he hangs up his cleats and whatever NBC has the guts to tell Chris Collinsworth okay that that's probably not fair I'm sure they told by now right right I oh dear that would be the worst way to learn and I shouldn't laugh because you know some day with CBS sports radio shows me out the door places made with us some incredible young female broadcaster that that I don't know that's perfect and I'm not I'll probably find out on Twitter too so you know laughed out yup you so you don't get any email from your boss it's terrible at least cris Collinsworth has earned enough money that he probably can take some time to decide what job he wants next what is it weird if you're a sitting duck in the broadcast booth is that weird you're the incumbent you know your time is coming to an end you don't actually know when your your time is coming to an end but you know you know you're gonna be voted out of office huh interesting I've been fired before but I never had warning I was just fired carte blanc so I walked into the office expecting an evaluation in two minutes later without on my rear end so I've been fired before but never the slow death March over social media that that's something I've never experienced it's after hours here on CBS sports radio we're asking you on both Twitter and Facebook how you feel about drew Brees in the broadcast booth whenever it might happen so we have a pull up in fact I will retweet the poll here I I had a friend of mine who loved the NFL say to me I think drew Brees appeals to me more than Tony Romo now they're two very different personalities yes either both white quarterbacks their their resumes are not anything the same and you know they both had a some success in some big time highlights though breezes obviously played longer and and has all the records by the time he retires yada yada yada but the two personalities are nothing the same reasons likely not to be quite so giddy Romo really enjoys his job I feel like drew Brees will be a little more reserve though he's fine he clearly hasn't said that humor but his personality is not the same as robo so for those of you think it might be robo two point oh or or Romo rejects I don't actually think that's the case to me they're they're very different and they present themselves very differently in interviews and just you know that the way that they conduct themselves and comport themselves it's just it's very different behavior not bad but they both know the game extremely well I will absolutely watch a game that drew Brees is is part of the broadcast team for and I think I love Roma I think Roma does a great job he's fine and I'm arching Cressy Tony Roma see what I mean for campy I think he's fine and I enjoy hearing what Tony Romo has to say breeze will be different I don't know why I have this idea that he'll be a little more analytical I could be totally wrong he could be a groove ball as well but there isn't anything that Brees hasn't seen or experienced on the football field and that kind of knowledge in the broadcast booth invaluable no wonder NBC is anxious to show about Chris no no I'm sorry Chris Collinsworth does a good job too my mom is gonna be really disappointed because she actually loves cris Collinsworth so I mean he's popular obviously and maybe NBC will find a different role for him I hope that's the case.

"Jefferies from a guy takes a snap close the nearest don't give it's not a flag these these after hours with Amy Lawrence okay I know that was a significant moment for the NFL and the saints but every single time I hear Zach Strief and deuce McAllister described that miss pass interference call the NFC championship in early two thousand nineteen I laugh just because the in the moment McAllister you don't get one you don't get a flag and it set off Appalachian up roaring criticism and V. number one topic of two thousand nineteen in the NFL it was this pass interference role change he carried us all the way through the offseason member Sean Payton is on the competition committee it was talked about it I had no idea over and over and over again how will the NFL changes role how can the NFL prevent this from happening again and we all know by now the league over reacted and instituted replay review for a judgment call and pass interference it's doing absolutely nothing creating more consternation it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio good morning to you now that's all behind us is in the rear view mirror but here's what I find so ironic after months and months and months of two thousand nineteen and even into the season when we realize that this new PI wrinkle what's it actually going to make a big difference that sure the challenge flags will be thrown but in only the rarest of occasions what a pass interference call or non call actually be overturned as much as that was the focus of two thousand nineteen vats that microscope in that lens but the NFL was so desperate to avoid right that the controversy that's what the NFL wants so badly is to avoid controversy and this negative backlash it's the over reaction they create this rule change it it blows up in their faces that it actually turns out to be an even bigger mess and yet ironically when they decide to get rid of the role that they just instituted a year ago so they've they declined to renew it there was one year trial basis in order to keep it moving forward they were going to have to vote on it again and decided it was going to be a permanent part of the NFL rule book as loud as it was when the role was created that's how dead silent it was when the rule was allowed to die if the irony of that and yet typical NFL not wanting to regurgitate this debate not wanting to bring it up the league feels like it's had a pretty healthy conversation this offseason of course the the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Superbowl it was huge for them and you read the sentimental favorite there and B. P. in Patrick Mahomes one of their bright young stars everything's going well despite what happened in our country the NFL is still essentially on on schedule and now moving forward to a virtual draft one of the conversation to be about the draft and about this event they've got coming up not wanting the conversation to be about a failed miserable never should have been instituted a replay review they just let with nary a whimper the competition committee just declines to vote on it and there goes the NFL ghosted us with the pass interference rule change and I I'm wondering if the league thought nobody would notice stealthy right it was not only a Friday news dump but even make the news there was no press release there was no Roger Goodell tweet nope quick if sorry other bell we can't forget that it ever happened as much as you would like us to but at least moving forward there is no more challenge for pass interference calls or no calls so at least that's what put to bed just humorous that the league forgot to mention that minor detail it's after hours with Amy lords of VVS sports radio thanks so much for joining us what we're talking about the same did you know drew Brees has a retirement plan and and no it's not his four oh one K. he reportedly has agreed to join the NBC broadcast booth whatever he decides to step away now he is not confirmed it all he will say is that he's focused on the upcoming season and spending time with his family right now during the pandemic NBC will not confirm it and I'm wondering if that's because they needed to break the news to cris Collinsworth first out that cat is out of the bag me yeah now I don't know why no one will confirm it again if it maybe it's because of the delicate situation and other people are losing their jobs I don't know I can't decide this is being handled better or worse than the CVS situation with Phil Simms and Tony robo and.

"That to say that the NFL's all time passing leader seemingly has a plan in place for retirement whatever that happens to be according to a report from the New York Post over the weekend drew Brees will move to the broadcast booth for NBC when ever he decides to retire now Brees has not confirmed this okay so there's been nothing specific from the quarterback himself however the report was out there again from the New York Post that breeze has agreed to a contract with NBC sports presumably to fill the seat that right now is held by cris Collinsworth on Sunday night football again that's what's been reported though Brees has not confirmed yet V. idea of drew Brees in the broadcast booth I think it's a fantastic one because he's a very cerebral quarterback we know he has a great personality I never get tired of hearing him talk about football and he also seems like a guy who can get along easily with and you have a partner al Michaels in this case I guess if they didn't touch change the play by play guy as well I did kind of wonder though if you're Chris Collinsworth is that how you found out the news or did N. B. C. give you a heads up or I wouldn't feed on Twitter because that would stink but unfortunately that's how a lot of news is broken these days it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio again drew Brees is reportedly headed to the broadcast booth for NBC whenever he decides to retire now it likely could be another two years the member he signed a two year contract with the saints last month so two years fifty million dollars he could if he wanted to any point step away from the game but continues to play at a high level the saints continue to play at a high level in the regular season at least at all he'll say is that he's focused on training for this season enjoying the time with his family and also I thought that was kind of funny he's relearning fifth grade math to help his kiddos he's not announced that he plans to retire which I appreciate now he may or may not play all two years of the contract but not everybody wants a retirement or any case a breeze you can imagine that's not his style as long as the team has a chance to challenge for division titles playoff spots that presumably Super Bowl titles though it's not lined up that way for them the last three years they say been painful exits but I think your breeze in the broadcast booth because of his personality because of his knowledge everything he's seen on the football field sounds it sounds interesting to me and and I would be right there front row seats totally different personality than Tony Romo which I think is interesting but could you imagine CBS with Jim Nance and Tony robo and then if you end up having drew Brees along with al Michaels or some other combo for the NBC NFL broadcast booth what do you think you can find me on Twitter a already also on our Facebook page after hours with Amy Lawrence I've always said this it it's never going to be a broadcaster that causes me to tune into a particular event and that's it's not taking away from what these guys do I am in awe of of what many of them do and as a play by play announcer myself I I think that too often people underestimate the work these guys put into it and and how good you have to be to stand the test of time which which you know some of the names that I just threw out there al Michaels Jim Nance Mike to Rico is another one I mean these guys are so good that they've they've managed to stay on top of the industry for years and years it if the craft that I am in awe of but I don't ever tune into a game or stay tuned into a game or further more I never turn off the game because of the broadcast team I can't do that how can I prep for a show or host a sports talk show if I'm shooting it out of games because of the announcers and honestly half the time by I have them to doubt the government not really paying attention to what they're saying because I am taking my own notes now sometimes if there's a big moment I'll rewind my DVR and I'll hear what they had to say all hear them break down at times what they say is going in one ear and out the other there are some broadcasters that I'm not I'm not a huge fan of but again it doesn't keep me away from the TV when I need to watch a game but I'd love to hear what you think about potentially drew Brees in the broadcast booth when he retires it's after hours here on CBS sports radio Roger Goodell of got a plan not for retirement before the upcoming NFL draft well I don't know how much the cameras are going to show us but the draft picks will be announced from inside the basement of his home so humorous I don't know why the basement maybe if like me it's the only room in the house where he has a carpet and so you get better acoustics well you know the the NFL had announced that it was going to be including what nearly sixty prospects and sending essentially these draft technology kits to all of these prospects which would include cameras and the ability to connect and whatever else they need to be sure that the virtual draft can also feature all of these young men who will be realizing their dreams not this coming weekend but the following weekend and then you'll have Roger Goodell in his basement announcing the first round picks thank you now I certainly what the commissioner of the NFL to stay safe and he is also working from home like the teams which are you know what I think that's great if the teams are not allowed to have their facilities open if the teams are not allowed to get together in a war room and make their draft selections if the teams themselves are having to disperse they're very very S. front office members two houses all over the country what is your should be allowed to work from his office or TV studio either thank you I think no thank you this is going to be fantastic I think that it is the is the right message to send that the commissioner is also home if everybody else at the end of all have to be at home the commissioner should be at home as well I'm just wondering how much of his basement we're actually going to see I would tell you that it's not offered off do you think he'll post a video on his Twitter account from Las Vegas to Roger Goodell's basement how far the NFL draft has fallen but the league refuses to push it back they do not want to to suspend the draft right now or to postpone it till later in the year even though there are some of advocated for that nope instead we're going to get Roger Goodell in his basement and the team's third they've now had a couple of weeks to try to get ready for what this is going to look like we know they don't have in person access to the various draft picks we know the draft picks themselves are in some cases working out their basements that they're having to train virtually they're cooking for themselves we got a look at every angle of this but but again if the general manager and his team are having to work remotely and and you zoom calls to decide what they want to do with their virtual war rooms then it makes sense that the commissioner would also be sheltering in place at his own home long time NFL front office executive Scott he only was a guest on our New York affiliate WFA ed and he was kind of looking at this process of preparing for the draft when you're all spread out in your own homes I think some teams are doing that right now because they understand the rules of engagement going into the stress that there isn't going to be much time and then you have to be smart as a team that listens if there's only five when it gets down to five minutes that's our cut off point we are not gonna do any business any trades when there's less than five minutes so it's it's about teams now preparing for as many potential contingencies as they think could arise because you don't have the same ability to turn around look at someone to yell across the room across the war room instead even if you aren't as soon call come on you know how this goes if you're on a sky per year on soon or maybe you're on some other form of video call sometimes there's a delay it's hard to hear everyone all the same time it's not the same as being all in one room where your together and you've got you've got the immediacy of that communication and so what the only thing is that they've got to be practicing for this now which of course they are they have to be because none of the facilities are open they're trying to plan for potential trade possibilities are trying to plan for I you know what what what would we like to do here best case scenario would we you know would we like to double stack our our big board whatever it is they have to over planted over prepare because there are going to be situations that arise that they can't address as quickly or maybe problems the team in front of you draft the guy that you thought you were gonna happen now what do you do you have to give it what you're you know you need to pay it and everybody is is spread out and and in their own homes and so there may be some issues that arise that they aren't expecting but I think the idea is to play and for every possibility flow charts if this happens then this if this then this and and somebody of course there's going to be one person presumably the GM maybe maybe somebody else is gonna be one person who has the final say otherwise you could get completely chaotic that's fine I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this plays out though I don't know how much access will have to the general managers slash you know brain trust for each team because they're all spread out you can only have so many cameras they'll get confusing if if on TV either they're showing you multiple cameras from say the bangles you know guys that are spread out all over the place and how do you show prospects la la la la la Roger Goodell his basement and so I don't know how many cameras we're gonna have access to your or what the technology's going to look like but I do know it's going to be fascinating and I am very much looking forward to Roger Goodell's basements interesting I don't have a basement I'm an addict I mean if you if you run out of space he's welcome to.

"Dot com slash Patrick for Kay we're gonna get to the bottom of this the once he somebody just threw out another thing here what is serial a soup all right stop it okay know what though okay right out of surface you're like that's just dumb well what what's the difference right and heads get X. which means that oatmeal is probably the chili all cereals yes I am I would buy that yes hot dog is the chili of sandwich oatmeal is the chili of cereals right but sear it which cereal should be considered a soup we'll get some phone calls on this topic here but I got to get to the bottom of this the I'm seeing ghost Kate I don't know if they've attach that name to it yet the Minish meta covers the judge for the New York Daily News and had some interesting things yesterday with the you know you're miking up Sam Donald did the coach know N. Y. is Adam gase all upset I'm just shocked that they had a miked up in the first place and Arnold and Mones joins us now up take us behind the scenes how does this happen that NFL films goes in and then who who needs to approve who gets miked up for a football game every team has to have their coach and quarterback miked up at some point during the season the jets actually agreed to have Donald miked up for their Sunday night game against the Browns but he obviously didn't play the motto yet a player had to get clearance or have to clear it out yes of course and the organization Gail public relations is involved in this as well but that the answer your original question yeah add get knew that he was Mike the project actually a great the fact that you would like that there is a danger however when you buy couple player for prime time game because the network in this case yeah yeah can turn around quick in game whereas if you had the player Mike that for one o'clock or four o'clock game on a Sunday NFL films would use what they have until later in the week for whatever programming that they have to the team would have more of an opportunity to prop be a part of getting process but in this case when you're dealing with real time an NFL films representative on site give you yeah and the clear batch of quit and then you can obviously decide what they want to hear what they don't want to hear a my understanding is that actually people high up on the totem pole that adult film you know we're not happy that they got cleared up so they weren't happy with one of their employees an active thing clearly the jets don't like their franchise quarterback being not poke fun at for what like twenty four thirty six hours yeah I I feel bad for Sam but it was a great moment if I'm NFL films did not get what I want to get here it makes a great conversation at the entertaining it's certainly much better than the bland stuff that you typically here Indies miked up in areas I'm not debating that makes our office conversation but if you're the team you have a shared understanding with the league that if your player is gonna be miked up you're going to get it out the typical hooting and hollering and yelling your crime paying the after getting tackled really bland stuff nothing as juicy as what we saw this time so I do think that the team that burned it in a way it's not as if the Dan Patrick show Mike that stand Arnold or the New York Daily News Mike that damn Donald so this is the league dealing with one of its team that and clearly yeah you don't see comments like that being aired for we did Adam gase make things better or worse yesterday with his comments okay dos bottom all Adam gave more important things to concern himself with that's not to say that you shouldn't have a handle this matter the way that he handled yesterday could actually agreed with the way that he had already said that now the team's gotta think twice now about getting the players miked up now again there is a rule that players you have to get like that beach game though I'm not sure what the jet could do but they're putting in an awkward position at the end of the day Dan you you know you've been around the NFL long enough to know that being built a common phrase you hear a lot worse going outside live but they get it built people don't pay that much attention to it but when you look at social media there's names all over the place so I think that if the fallout that the team is not happy about I think the bigger picture here is okay we caught him saying it but to me the bigger picture is why was he seeing ghosts out there why was it it felt like ill prepared to face the patriots what what they were gonna bring defensively Hey if the nail on the head report preparation by the coaching staff he was a poor communication by the office of line for execution by Sam Donald yeah you could put the blame on a lot of different people for why they were not competitive the other night it obviously begins with the head coach in preparation but you can't stop them Donald the one who made the off balance grows up yeah ultimately I just think that if he might not been prepared too many times entering games whether stand are what the quarterback or look up what the quarterback which everything in what the quarterback that is an indictment on Adam gase it's pretty cut and dried the that respect I I just wonder as we move I don't know how good Sam Donald is thank you do we have a sense of how good he is or is going to be and what I think in the sixteen gave that he's played I believe that you can be a very good player at yeah at the very least I look at his floor as Tony robo you know I think you could potentially be a bat Ryan Philip rivers impact type of player and I think the big bill perfectly for him you could be in that can rob will burger and Rogers he has killed stand there there was a reason why he was the number three pick in the draft and you saw two weeks ago use the AP after the player of the week for what he did against the cowboys he had a tremendous amount of ability I think you will be a difference maker this week for a very long time I think you're going to be a very good player regardless of who is at coaches that being said the head coach is going to be absolutely could little if this player had the chance to be an elite player you see the patriots twice a year what do you make of them and are they the class of the NFL they are and they are because of their defense I thought that they would have a very good defense this year I did not think that we would have a duplicate of the eighty five pairs of the two thousand and raping but if you're being honest about this assessment they have played every bit as good and had looked every bit as dominant as those types of these at the end there's a lot of football left to be played you know two and a half months left and the play up to the Superbowl of course but they're so down on defense they're so creative on the fact that the clear reflection on bill Belichick the way that day confused the jets and you can pay the jets are a very good team and yet you're probably right about that but the confusion that they cause with that that all out with which one can always an all out with the hectic you can gather the line of scrimmage but often times they only Blix for guys Jack had no idea which were looking to be that to me is just a credit to hal bill Belichick teaches those guys I don't know how he does I don't know what the teaching points are but everybody on that defense he would be an extremely smart football player they're so sound and what they do they don't make mistakes and if that continues I can't see anybody in the air the or the end of the that's going to stop that because as long as Tom Brady of healthy it's always going to be a quality player you might not be that dominant player he used to be but a quality Tom Brady coupled with the dominant defenses the if the cop combination be thank you for joining us and good luck with the chance this season thanks I appreciate it okay minis matter it covers the judge for the New York Daily News well like he's got a choice he's got to go out there to cover this team I guess I shouldn't feel bad for him I mean he's got he's got things to cover their it's interesting yeah Mike Leavitt that was high praise for Sam Donald could be Rodgers R. Roethlisberger things break right yeah I I was very surprised Todd I'm not doing one of sports names that are attached to suit why not on just this chance again this really could be a once in a lifetime deal okay I'm I'm not going to be the bad guy here I'm gonna put this out for the Dennis which never Richie bisque but nice hitter for the white Sox and the action on the list for Jesus I love you okay make a lot of it do you want to hear Fritz porch I really I really real quick ever think like what you see when you want to hear this I'm I'm I'm so in on this right now yeah I really want to hear soup name okay like oil can of soup boil I don't know what I could add that to listen to them and I know you can't all right go ahead so we're we've been talking about soup good god would have really go this is a real shot I know hi Todd all right we did super Campbell from our friend it the the worldwide leader chili Davis at the Polly had mentioned that I had to put that on which we give us Oscar gumbo will you give that to me as for gamble Oscar going at this stage I'm giving you everything all right tennis player Yvonne lead role okay I have worked now should could Todd stop we have a few more sure go ahead in room now old sweet sweet pea where I work the weather here of last night's game wants total town soon I has a drug is less than one tenth of one photo Richie this old and the last two I had a Charles barley one of my favorite Charles cream of broccoli job Charles barley is because of the book and the last one I had for liquor friends in LA and god bless them with the sole check current soup she Kern soup instead of chicken soup okay chicken soup because it fast all right Billy bean soup Billy bean soup but the other four three bean soup Billy three main stupidly thought norm chowder norm Chow okay college coach U. "To stir the pot I can tell you that I'm just honest let's go to the got to go to move call in line is going to move in Brooklyn well melt bow welcome to talking force on a Sunday morning what's up your morning guys Hey guys there when I found you guys a couple weeks ago anonymously career like listening to you thank you so much for listening Jeff I'd like to address you first of all I I respect your opinion a lot and I like how you put that Marty in the place of the week. but basically just I I what I would tell you is that you did say you're saying about the unending out pretty face this time not a giants fan I'm not a giant funnel okay bye bye do you know how many teams in the NFL over the last fifteen years and you don't really have to go too far just look at the team that played in the stadium with the giants would die to have you on many is the quarterback you know why the answers zero because no one's gonna treat for him. well not now that's not the way to him last year you would not have the year the point he's making is over a fifteen year career that how many teams would want that we're all right now yeah would would die savvy line and go at fifty at the directed that for that a quarterback over the last fifteen years they wish they would have you want men to get the quarterback and I was rude yeah there's a lot of teams that are like that there are little mo let me ask you a question what year was Eli manning in the MVP conversation what year now I agree with you did know year but I would tell you the year two thousand eleven that they won the Superbowl and they had a terrible secondary that year day he single handedly the game in Dallas the game of the playoffs this link and staff at this but when Justin Smith with killing him and he stood in that game and and either leave the field on a stretcher in that game well he's one of the toughest guys listen he's a tough SO B. U. I. manning and you are it's you know it's amazing every time I debate the you when you're a smart guy you obviously know your football it's clear to me but the thing is this every time we talk about you I manning the only thing people ever bring up these things from two thousand eleven and two thousand and eight and a pretty big enough any other season there are fourteen other seasons right but by the way. but let your mother let me just or is it also Jeff also never miss game. again I that is amazing that doesn't have anything to this performance on the field I will go head to finish your point I would argue I've argued with people that told me what what was the better quarterback in the alignment of people that told you over the better quarterback the only thing that twenty one we didn't have that that they did build up the offense of line until the end of his career was right you can fill Madonna's absolutely right what I do at as a non driver again the giant but I have a lot of respect for you on many that I mean that's what I would say I love listening to you guys have a great day thank you so much for the call no thanks for listening that's great so you you listen there's so many takes on the line can I just say this will verify I would like to just think about this for what anybody out there who loves you I manning okay just think about one thing okay I want to just lay this out there because I think this is the most damning thing about him of all the things that are damning about him he line manning has as many losing seasons at Ben Roethlisberger Philip rivers Tom Brady Joe Flacco Tony robo. come and Aaron Rodgers together. yeah. not each one alone. if you losing seasons of Ben rivers Brady Flacco.

"Great thing. And if you know, the pledge drive was off to that was an awesome. A a great fan moment. Jay, mews drop and photos dollars fucking great. This is all the listener roasts episode. I was surprised we got that many things. I'll say it stuff. That's great. Yeah. Yeah. Let me Let echo me echo that. that the listener rose, admittedly. I thought those are gonna be terrible though. They were all really good. The very impressed guys. You guys killed it got wizard world press passes this year, free fun. What does Belotti like I was. But I do because I love you guys. But now, I'm starting to second guess that shit. Now, you gotta be the bodyguard fine like Whitney Houston's. Yes. You gotta be the Kevin Costner to my cut initi- trigger finger. What the hell they talking about with the house? No, no. Can we rewind Enron? How about just like things this year has really great moments on the air, something that's out. What for you guys are enjoyed just in general for you? Why have bought a new place? That's nice. Yeah. But it's not related. I think for the podcast. When you when you were letting everybody call in and then they were talking on the show, and you want it went onto on. So then it became like a controversy where everybody Tony robo didn't want you reading that stuff anymore playing it. And then you played one and rogue boy, stop go. Stop stop. Let me tell you what you did wrong. I fucking lost. I I was was I was. I was. Remember where I was remember when Kennedy got shot to a nine eleven. I remember that was at the gym doing legs. When I heard that I lost it. We add like rope Imron up and like tell them the deal about playing on the shell. It was you. There was a lot behind the scenes on that one. Yeah. But you calling out the guy like stop. All right. This is what you did wrong. And it was brilliant. I love all of it. That was all scripted and rehearsed e beating complete asshole for other the highlight of the year. Yeah. That was it. You don't like it when it happens to you. But it's funny sad. We can't forget though is the passing of Stanley. Episode two. Yeah. That was like I look back at the shows we did this year. And we what does shows was called the Stanley situation. Remember, I was like deeply invested. We broke down what was going on. And then for it to finally happen was unreal. But it was great remembering and talking about him but fucking twenty year fucking point. Point. We've been talking about how his family's screwing him over. Yeah. Yeah. He. Yeah. At the end of his life wasn't great rest of it was. I mean, the man gave us little more touching stuff. Yeah. It's still like Lou Ross for me hours. Damn yeah. Yeah. I'm still kind of feeling the effects of that. It is it was it was the spider verse cameo was probably was tough. And then at the very, you know, what if I was I was alone watching a movie, I totally would've cried at the very end where they had the quote. Yes, you remember that as a nation?.
