"It is. 7 38 Good job, Dave, pronouncing those tennis names. Well, I trying, Harry Carey would have sent a backwards though. Well, I I saw I saw the other day. I don't know it was smashing their tennis racket. It was a joke of it was a joke of it is doing that, and he really smashed it to Wow! That was in his Match that got him to the same Ava's in his quarterfinal match. I belief I reminded me of My tennis temperament. I've I've mellowed. I never did that. I would throw my racket though. I did a lot. What, you? Yeah, I wouldn't seem like coming. Yeah, I don't anymore, but I used to do that a lot. By the way. What? What did tell me the Russos say yesterday he met the press for the first time, right since he since he was hired. Yeah, and they asked him about the d u I and I did, And they asked him about that U. S a Today story to that said LaRosa told Reinsdorf about the dy. But Ryan's Dorf didn't tell Ric Kahn when Russo was being named manager. And did they get to the bottom of that yesterday? Well, Rick Hahn was asked about it yesterday and he said he didn't want to rehash old history. Probably just as well. When you got your your boss. That's a key figure in that story. No kidding. Well, it's probably you know, they should have really done this a while ago because this story festered and you knew it was gonna Just be the underlying white sex story until they faced the reporters. And they did on zoom, right? Yeah, but I think they knew that either way, This was going to be the big story that when camp opened, and so at that point now Tony Luke would face the questions and He did, to a certain extent, the day he was introduced. As has manager, but I really couldn't say a whole lot at that time, obviously, because everything was still in the game courts. Hopefully now they can move on and just talk about the team they've got, which is a pretty good one. And that's where the Lewises said yesterday's been around them a bit. Now he started to get Developed relationships with the players. But he admitted, I'll give him credit for this. He admitted that there are legitimate questions about about his choice as manager. I mean about him being hired his manager. And questions about his ability to do the job. At this point, having been away from the dugout for 10 years, there's some of that may just be him saying what a lot of people are thinking. That? Yeah, I think, uh, I give him credit for a least release saying that that people are gonna be watching him very closely. A team that has World Syria's aspirations and he's won three world Syriza's, but this is a different situation for him that he's been through in the past people still questioning whether a guy who's what is he 70 76 can do this, but I think people are questioning that, and that's one thing that I I've always felt that there a lot of very productive people in various walks, who are In their seventies in their eighties in there, I mean, hey, Some people are old at 40. And some people are young lady. That's right. And can he relate? Well? I think he can relate to the extent that He can. He can do this job. I mean, it's it'll be interesting to see What His relationships are with the players, and that's something that I think time will tell. But You know, I think to cross somebody off a list merely because of ages. On fair If you want to say it's because he hasn't managed in 10 years, whatever. Then maybe through. Maybe that Z. Legitimate argument against it, but well, if they get off to a good start, you know nothing. Nothing puts all of those all of those talks aside like a winning streak. That's right. That's right. And look this team. It's different now because they're expected to win. And that always changes the whole formula. Yes, it does. It's not gonna be a pleasant surprise. If you win some Gabes. It's kind of like the Blackhawks right now are a pleasant surprise. If the Hawks were expected to win, and they were winning than when they lose, people are going to get upset. Yeah, and since 2016 cub fans have changed expectations 7 43 don't know about you, but I need a moment is then how about it today? Now? Yes. Please take some deep breaths. When you hear this soundtrack, Close your eyes unless you're driving. And try to just forget about what you have to do today and try to feel head to toe everything relaxing in your body. Listen to whatever sounds are around you, but try not to think of anything with the thoughts just passed through and Hopefully, our little moment of Zen soundtrack will help. Here you go. Knows this too Melodic for the moment of them. What do you think? Wow, I hope it helped tribute employees probably needed today We'll talk about that hedge fund buying tribute. Publishing with the business reporter for the paper coming up Next. Here comes the weather. Steve What's the latest? I saw a little ray of sunshine downtown. What's happening? It's frightening a little bit, and that's because the stone was letting up. We saw it extensively.

"You know I mean you for sharing him. Yeah thank you thank you. Yeah thank you for being that. That said as powerful. I mean I We're living through leg again like the most unprecedented year of our lifetimes. And this is the year that we're all going to. I mean look back on her grandkids are GONNA ask us about A. Do you see any positives coming out of what we're going through right now. If there's any positive I say is the fact that everyone was forced to slow down. Everyone was forced to actually communicate. Actually speak in another because texting doesn't do it. We miss to look at someone's face and hear their voice. The only thing I can pray for is that when this passes and this too shall pass. We don't go back to being the way we were. We don't forget how important family is. How important being together is how unimportant. The things that we think are important. Are you know it's funny? I did an interview and I said this is the first time that the whole world is actually looking up and idolizing real heroes not celebrities not reality stars. I mean real life heroes. That are that are in your life every day that we don't look at you know that we pay no mind to because we're worried about what this celebrities doing and with that celebrities don't how much we realize how unimportant the idea of going out getting as much money as you possibly can. How important family is how. How how sacred and fragile life is you know. And it's like when you get that into perspective. You actually get to understand the rope gift. The light truly is and there's going to be suffering him there's going to be paying because that's what it is but there's so much beauty as well. You know what we see on twitter and social media we have a country that's divided now a world that's divided. We live in fear we were. We live in hate. Everyone's hating on someone and I think to myself. When does that stop like when do we we start looking at each other different? I don't I don't know I don't know you know I'm old school. I I don't know I don't know when I just pray that it happens in my lifetime that we stop. All of this is crazy. Hey all there is on twitter anymore. Is She right one after another hate? Yeah I mean people say you know I hear people say all. I can't wait till things go back to normal and I'm like well. What normally looking for that to me. You know that there was a lot of things that we just kind of accepted because we could and now all of a sudden that we're feeling that fear there's so many people in America feel that fear with or without you know they'll have money that can't put food on the table lights like we need to start. I hope that out of this comes a new awakening in terms of people. Saying wait a second you know like forget about trying to get rich. Like how am I going to give back to? My neighborhood is much as again. I'm not going to get back to the you know the the country as much as I can close when it. When is enough enough? You know what I mean I would it would he? Do you need everything I mean. Does anyone need that? If you've got a roof over your head you have food in the refrigerator. A family that loves you and you can pay your bills. You're in better shape than ninety nine percent of the whole plant right. You know so. It took me a long time to learn that it took a lot of tragedy in my life to truly understand that value. So when I speak I try to relate that to other people to let them know that even through the worst tragedies you can still stay standing and I you know I tell people that lost children that as long as you're standing you're honoring your trial the minute you give up crawling the corner and WanNa die than they died for nothing and you. You can't have that and lately. My goal has been not letting another parent ever feel. Feel this pain and I done the best that I can do but you know I. I prayed for strength every day when I get up to do what I can do. Y'All doing interviews and and speaking Is a good way for me to try to get the message out. That we really can't change the world but we gotTa Change Yourself. I got you all right. We want to take to take it to the blunt. Musso all right. So we're GonNa hit you rapid fire questions rapid all my God. What are you? What are you watching the pandemics Lot of net flicks I watched breaking bad better. Coal saw I love those shows? I love crime shows. I like that too and I didn't. What's that okay? We're we're watching right now. My wife is learning. Yeah what is your. Who's your favorite rb singer of all time Marvin Gaye best towel or a bath? Robe Kinda Guy Bad. Sal I'm in. What's your favorite dessert? I'm not a big. I'm not a big dessert guy. But if you push me into a corner for dessert I'd have to say to triple chocolate cake. Does any place in particular you get While the rim cafes favorite places in the city if you have not been there once this is over they make degrades can always in chocolates you will ever have in your life and Rene is one of the greatest character stabber lift with James. It's right on the corner ninth in central. It's the Ram cafe. He's got like five hundred thousand followers. Baseball wow air hockey pool pool paper. My life is a cat. Is it ever acceptable to wear a short sleeve? Shirt with a blazer blazer now jetty I never I never wear a blazers. I would now if you're going out to eat and sell fill. They were or or if if the four of us are going South Philly. Where are you taking us? You will never answer that question astroid. I have quite a place in I take people to. "Back. Poisoned into great great underrated Philly sued graver of those commercials. Was the boxing one. You're going to say that orgasm one. I watched that one earlier. That was so I don't know how to get away with that back. Different different times. Things changed and things happen. You know with the way they went. I enjoy had to reinvent the brand eighteen months perfecting a frozen cheese steak that was made to bake in the oven. Comes out like you would not believe it revolutionized the way you bake off frozen sandwiches you thought out own a QBC were like rated their top seller. It's as close as you will ever get to getting it at home because it doesn't reheat. It literally bakes in the oven. It's it's one of our. It's literally changing where the brand this job. That's why I wanted to. I had written down went to know how long it so you eighteen months ago with eighteen now with TAT I. What's the what's the game plan at this point? I mean you know you guys have obviously opened a lot of chains and at the same time you know you've you then had to kind of come back and deal with legal situation with family and everything like that. Where's the brand? We're twenty TWANI. Where's the Tony Luke's brand from Europe? While the brand right now is now concentrating on a frozen food. We're still we have another To source opening up in New York City one in Manhattan so those are places that people bought already. But we have a new way of doing cheese steaks. And I can't get into right now will revolutionize the way cheese steaks remain. And we're living living in the you know obviously living in the age of Kovin so people making food at home is going to be a big part of growth growth industry of any restaurant. Right is like people aren't going to go out for food is much. They're going to be cooking at home. More and more it is that you do. You think that the fact that you've already put that time in it's going to play to your advantage on that. Well I actually I gotta I gotTa be honest. People are creatures of habit. If I've lived long enough to know that people may not job up and I gotTa tell you I literally saw this trend years ago people going out less and less and less and less bought. They're not going to cook at home. They're going to order food or get food. That's pre made that. They can heat up at home if I see it going anywhere. That's where I see it going. We're going to be on the phone going. Hey I'm getting dinner. Delivered that I can throw in. They gotTA freeze Arriver Frigerator. Auburn Micro Way and I had dinner for my family. That's where I see it. Go Right Okay Tony. I wanted to get a little bit serious for a minute You know someone who my father had troubles with addiction. Might my brother had troubles with addiction. someone that experienced the most horrific way. How do we beat this thing? Where does it start? How do we ended? Where does it seems like? It's gotten worse than you know. I'm a eight kids crack cocaine. This opioid thing that this is something we've never seen before. Where do you? What do you think we can do well? I think the first thing we need to do is to recognize addiction for what it is. First of all addiction is nothing more than self medicating I do. When my son Tony as the way in one year I put on one hundred and ten pounds because the way I self medicate is with carbohydrates repeats it with Pasta. I'm not taking drugs but I'm eating food. That is my addiction. That is not that is my way of self medicating. We have to look at addiction and understand. Addiction is not a choice somebody somebody parties too much and it affects their job. They have a drug problem. They don't they're not suffering from addiction. When you're suffering from addiction yourself medicating a pain and that pain comes from mental health and comes from trauma whether sexual trauma or emotional trauma it comes from physical trauma so we have to look at it correctly first before we can understand now finally after speaking and all these people coming on board now getting the right picture addiction needs to be treated exactly like you. Treat a mental health conviction. What is the diction it's bipolar? It's manic depressive. It serious trauma. It's you know it's a low self esteem you have to treat the underlying cause because those that are suffering from addiction are just self medicating that's all they're doing. And if you think people like I tell people you think people want to alienate themselves from their family. If they WANNA live in st they want to sell their body they WanNa rob and do all these things to self medicate and you think this because this is something they can handle. Think about how much pain you have to be in knowing that that is easier for you to deal with than the actual trauma itself. You need to get on board they therapy. They need they need to talk to therapists or psychologists. The whole addiction system needs to be brought into that sold. Where it's not we're treating. Here's what we do in again. My opinion. Would you take someone who is bipolar? And take them off their meds and then want to know why they're losing their mind. You need to get to the root of the issue and then slowly. Wean them off medication. So that they find other ways to self medicate instead of using heroin or the opioids that they're using it just a way for them to self medicate if we if we just tell them stop or we expect them to have willpower. Willpower doesn't no one can hold on forever on willpower. Eventually we all break. It's that perfect storm so I'm not saying we don't need support always lead to more meetings or incredible you know and I don't like using the word getting clean to me donate I it. Donates dirty needs to be in recovery and the and the recovery field is amazing and I love what they're doing but they need to incorporate the mental health and trauma issue or were never going to get a handle on this. It's never going to change. If we change that it will change you Yeah do you feel like you know you're a South Philly guy and you know you said yourself you you know you came up in a in a tough environment like in that environment is even more difficult to get that message across when there is that sort of that today the term I guess toxic masculinity but like that sort of tough guy saying is that is that tough to break through You know I don't. I would this generation definitely not with the older generation. Sometimes it's difficult. I tried to explain to them. You know when I tried to explain to them. I always been very emotional. It didn't take away any Ni- ever did you know. I was amateur fighter. I did everything I did whatever I needed to do but I still was very emotional. I think that when we put off that front. That's part of the trauma that we don't want to deal with when we feel like we have to man up all the time and when you go through enough in your lifetime and you get older you lose enough people you understand that. I don't have anything to prove to you now. I have a very very spiritual guy like I have a very strong faith so to me I would like you to to like may but the truth is the only person I answered to when I die for me is God so if I'm true to myself and I always try to do the right thing. It doesn't matter what your opinion is of me because you're not the one judging me. You're not the one that pays my bills. So if you notice any negative comments I get on social media. I never respond I. I won't give them that power I won't see into a won't do it. Smart WAY TOO big. You can't win that anyway. You better and then you get dragged in to all they want. All they want is the response. I just want the attention. Yeah Yeah I never get never there and believe me. People have said some really nasty thanks to me and I you know. Even if it's in person my you know my attitude is always while. I'm sorry that you feel that way. But now don't get me wrong. I am so much about non-violence I really am I will walk away every time but if you put your hands on me it becomes a whole different a whole different sort like for me to actually have the physical altercations. You really gotta be the aggressor. Because I don't care what you say to me doesn't mean anything. I'm walking away unless it gets a point where I can't walk away then. I had the choice. But right now you're now you can't leave. That's what you said you were living in. You know the most unique you know year of our lives probably and you've been hit very directly by this. You had a son who just a month ago was on. Death's doorstep How you know that that had to be just. I can't even fathom you know you'd lost Assad at now you add another one. That was you know you didn't know if you'RE GONNA lose are not what what. What was that situation light for you? I remember when he called me said he had a fever but then fever was kind of balancing out. Eight days later he developed a cough and he had trouble breathing and they called me said they were taking him to the hospital. And when I got the phone call that they were putting him on a ventilator and hold on a second I'm declining a call when I found out they were putting ventilator I remember dropping to my knees and I just remember saying to God. I won't make it through this one like I. I'm I'm begging you begging you. Don't take another child from me please. I can't I barely by a thread in my holding on losing my first child was and I but I remember it got so bad for me name. After remember March twenty seven. I was just at the grave of my son was his three year anniversary of the passing March. Thirty first my son Michael. Goes into a coma on a breathing tube. Okay and now. The the craziest thing is my son. Michael is four days older than a four days older than Tony but three years younger. Okay like He. He was born on the twelve. Tony was born on the eighth. So there's a four day difference when Michael went into the hospital and went on the breathing machine that day. March thirty first. He was the exact same age day that my son. Tony passed away my son. Tony was thirty five years old nine months in nineteen days when Michael Nicole restoring thirty five years all nine months nineteen days and I couldn't and I remember it got so bad that the only way for me to cope. I literally remember saying I have to lay this at Jesus Feet. I I can't I can't I can't carry it and I remember just praying and saying the rosary every night and I know your will be done I get it. I get it and I'm nobody special that you should hear this prayer. I just. I'm just bagging you. If there's any way to strengthen him there's any way to save him please and when he came off the ventilator I remember dropping to my knees again just crying and I just thought I if I think you know whatever I'm doing now I'm GonNa intensify two thousand because how do I. How do I pay that back? You know other than just praise. God I mean. I don't know what I mean to me. It was. It was Amir. I I don't know any other way to say it. And it. Not only was his life. Say will believe me when I tell you my family's like we say as well we never gotten through.

Wip So he had written this track while ready and he allowed me to write some new lyrics to make. It fit. What I was do I'll even even though I did. Write some new layer on the track. I always give him full credit as the songwriter of the cheese. Steak GAM yaw. It's available on spotify was a check it out. Yeah I actually performed at on Broadway on tour with Daryl live from our house. Oh Wow I performed at the it was made Daryl Hall Allan Stone and Sharon Jones from the data kings rest in peace sword. We did a whole tour together. It was amazing. Unbelievable there's there's A. The scene King wrote a book on on writing and in the book. He said that the the words are already there that you're excavator. And you're digging them out of the mountain basically and I want to put this to you. I'll put it to reach. Is Reese also songwriters? You guys feel like the words. You're there and you're just your job is to find them or do you feel like coming directly from you. Answer that one I. I agree with what he said. Man. It's literally like I'M I. I sit down and closed my eyes open again and songs written. I don't I don't I black out you know. I don't really know where something might inspire me or trigger something in my brain but once it gets going it rights itself. So that's my so I'm not. I agree now before you called. "I was taking some of your spotify stuff tonight and I was surprised you did not sound like I thought you would sell like. I would never thought that was your voice voice. Do you think I'm being in Philly and Italian Jerry Lavish editor influence on you or your parents kind of believe it or not please? No hate mail plates the fifties do op. Is the one style of music that I never really could wrap myself around. I just wasn't for me right areas already right. Hey Valerie Jarrett Mike you like that. Bubblegum music now. I'm I'm down in the neighborhood I'm off. I'm off Second Wolf. I walked here to your establishment. You know many many nights neabry. It'd get me some late night growth. What do you see? We've been hearing for years that you know the neighbors about explode. But they got the South Pole. They got casino common. You guys in for the long haul down there. Did you see it being a good thing actually believe it or not? I don't have anything to do with the original store. Okay Amer I haven't really kept up with with their brand is mine all of the Franchising the name trademark but the actual that original storm. I haven't had anything to do with a probably going on. Five years. Mangled Yes so what's what's the breakdown there because you know. I mean obviously Tony. Luke's is an iconic name in Philadelphia. And I think this thing played out publicly. The all know this there was like all was sent. Don what you have and what's no longer. What are you no longer affiliated with my father? My brother had the original location. I have everything else okay. Is it stressful being Tony Luke? The Guy we see on TV and in magazines and stuff face franchise. Yeah Yeah Not Really A. I don't know if I would say it's stressful. I mean your life becomes an open but I I enjoy being around people So I enjoy it. I mean you know you gotta take the good with the bad. I mean Frankie Olivera who owns Pat's and Geno Vento who owns Gino's are very close friends of mine so we go to dinner a lot and in silly. You know it's totally normal. Can have someone walker across the table at donate Lou you suck. Hopefully you're writing right slam right. Yeah I mean it's it's funny because you know it's it's such a unique to philly thing that three guys that own cheese steak restaurant. Sir are also be rivals like what? What's the what's the dividing line? Why don't they have a dividing line? The one thing I took with me from kids learning about business and it really is a true state. No one could ever put you out of business. No one could ever hurt your business but you are. The only somewhere else is because you're not doing you're supposed to be doing now. There is to me. There's no thing as the best people say Tony. Why is your cheese steak or roast pork? The Best I don't ever say it's the best because taste is relative. Would you think is great? I may not think is great so when people saying ours is the best I go. That's rally so if you're not eating one of your stakes where's the first place you go for one? Actually I've eaten sakes everywhere. There's only one eight that I have not eaten and it's only because I have never had a chance to actually get there but it is my number one priority to go to a place called donkeys. Oh Yeah I had lied. Vert such amazing things about this place and I've been traveling a lot. I you know I had the TV series on spike. And now. I have a new series on Amazon called comedy kitchen which Kinda got held up now because of the buy everything shut down so normally travel a lot so I'm not home very much and then with the music and writing and doing all those things. It's difficult my time is really stretched thin. Yeah but Laura. What's that I said? What are you doing Laura? Let's more of Oggi's I'm stuck in this recording. I saw Alvin defendants when it comes to the to the TV shows. Do come up with the ideas or the people picking the you and then you executive producer. Moore's at all from your brain now. Actually comedy kitchen was not my idea. It was Craig. Shoemakers ideas saying this comet. The office writer he was he was in the parks and recreation bad set and Craig came. Demand will actually. We became very good friends years ago. Say came to me Watson said hey what do you think about teaching me how to call? Sipi? Goes Tony on film? Your comic. Timing is really good he said so jared tri stand up and I was I stand ups a whole nother animal and I'm like I don't know he's like I think you can do it. Let me mentor you and stand up and you mentor. May in cooking so we did it and caught the eye of BBC America and they shot pilot called got it. I remember. It was called food and something comedy and food or food. And whatever they didn't they decided not to pick it up. But then we thought would've sweet. Well Craig thought what did he changes. It creates to show where I take famous comets and make their meals their come true and do the best that they can to compete with famous shafts. Who CRAIG IS TEACHING DO COMEDY? It's amazing in fact you've got to watch episode of with May in Bill Bellamy because we absolutely killed it and held it in the catcher and Gina Nail. He did amazing on stage doing comedy. It's a great show and once this is over an Amazon gets gets back on track where shooting another nine episodes. I think and then the season will come out social zoll on Amazon prime. Yes now the nail is on Amazon. I couldn't believe that I'm I'm looking at Amazon. And the nail resurface amazingly well on Amazon prime their spot in my heart. Because that was the first time I wore every hat I wrote. That movie produced did played the lead sang the title soundtrack. A and distributed that film and it just I remember in two thousand and nine it just exploded became a massive call film and then to see it re going on Amazon was really really great. Where does this energy come from? I I love being creative. I just a thumb in the studio I can be twenty hours man. I never get tired but if you end up being in front of the camera or doing a film learning script finding out with you know who the character is. I really enjoy that but I gotta tell you if you push me into a corner and said you had to give everything up and choose only one thing. It would always be news. That's good fall as a as a songwriter. Where you get inspiration from it suggests that you just ideas popping your head you pull that penalties it life experience. What are you right from? I'll tell you what I get my experience from the same place every writer gets and if he tells you otherwise he's lying and that trump from God from a higher source. I use my life experience. My obviously my music now is a little bit darker because I've been through so much It isn't you know I still try to keep a positive attitude on songs that I do right but you know I'm I feel grateful and blessed and for the gifts that God has given me. Brian also know that those gifts were not meant for me to self Off It so I try never to write a song that doesn't either affect someone in a positive way or makes them think about something because if you're giving a gift you need to share that gift for the right reasons. I'm Selanne I really I and I do when I write a song. Sometimes I sit back and I think there was nothing and then there was something. There's no way that that came from me. I can't I mean I I I guess I allow myself to be a receptor of that of that guests or those music vibes and it. 'cause IT WHEN. I tell you what just comes to me. I'll be laying in bed here. The song in my head running here jump on the piano. Play play the chords that I actually. There's a song. A new artist is coming out. May I she's she's dropping her her EP. Her name is Gabriel. Be on the lookout for this woman. In fact she's on twos. Now we re did Bob Marley. Three little birds with that. I saw she. She has a beautiful voice. Yes he is a monster so me and Joe Clark Joe. Clary as they call him JOE TO GLORY. He was huge. Name will power ninety nine incredible mixer mazing mixer so we went to see stars born which was the first time I'd seen him in a while. And we city council watch film. Hang out. I've been seen forever and that movie really affected me because of my son and addiction and everything I had gone through really hit me hit home and as I was walking out I added nowhere. Joe Kalari says to me you know the closer we get the further apart. And I'm like why. And he goes the movie just kind of hit me that to closer someone gets the further apart. Might say that line again anyway. The closer we get the further apart and all of a sudden a mind was like an even through the distance. It's a matter of the heart. I'm like I have a song. This is midnight again. My car we're going to my home studio in three hours. We had written a song called. Walkaway Gabby new EP. That's like I said it's being released on May I. I don't know where it comes from. I just hear it. You know he heard it. I don't know where he gets his gift from. It just comes to me and I just I just let it let it flow. I never sit down and think I need to write a hit rap because again music is subjective so ever know what's WanNa stick. I just write my life. I find I right where I feel in fact. If you listen to everything I've ever written. It literally tells the story of my life to find out. How do you decide what stays with you and how what goes to somebody else on a songwriter par? If it was up to me I would never say because I enjoy singing but I wanna hear someone else. Bring my music to light. But what happened was a lot of my friends. Actually I did south by southwest two years ago and I got up to perform at the filling mix and they're all these young kids in their twenties. Now I'm an old guy and when they said I was going to perform could you could hear the crowd literally laughing. Because it's like the Guy Tony once you get up and do a tracking on single..

"Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the weekly Friday night. Philly blunt shining. Ref- was Greg and you guys know us by now. You know that we want to get the people with the most insane resumes on the planet last week. We had a rapper actor. Cops and this week we've got a kickboxer singer and cheese steak. Icon CODY Luke Junior Welcome to the show. Thanks for having totally be offended. He didn't put actor into that. You got a nice little acting resume to. Nobody put kickboxing which I haven't driven like I can't get my lake this by me so you know. I don't even know where to begin. You know there's so much and you've always kind of lived your life as an open book but let's go back and let's start back in the day because I know you're a south Philly I and then suddenly you you caught the acting bug and that more or less changed her life right actually no. That's not true I love. I love it when he's wrong. I did I led to. I was the first graduating class from creative and performing arts so I was actually got kicked out of Bishop. Neumann was working a regular job My father saw an ad in the paper for a school. That's auditioning and he's like you want to be an actor musician and why don't you try doing it right so I did? I addition thousands came out. I don't remember. The exact amount was only a couple of hundred that actually made it and I was lucky enough to be one of them and that I wind up being the first graduating class of creative performing arts which I'm really showing my age now. Using always my music was my thing. Acting didn't come so late I think for yourself. I've read or seen you say like. He was a big supporter of the arts. Was He surprised you got accepted Your Dad. He could care. I don't think he cared one way or not beyond. Yeah he was like you know like you. You know you've even described yourself as being kind of a tough guy in south philly. And where did this where this comes from you know? Was there anybody in your family that was into acting and performing or where do you think it came from? Actually I think it came from the fact that when I was very young I was very heavy kid so I was picked on a lot. My grandmother was this old fashioned Italian woman. Who would kind of make me pasta and in sitting in front of the TV sets kind of cut to to make me feel better? So I started to live my life through television watching entertainers and comics in singers and actors in TV. Shows and I would fantasize a lot about being someone else where the acting bug came in and the music was always strong with me. I I was born with that like I just. I was attracted to music from a very very young age as far back as I can remember and to this day when things really get me down if I sit in front of the TV and watch TV show. While I'm eating for some reason it calms me down music wasn't that that caught you what what was initially that you were like. Oh Man I love this. I was always the same genre. I wrote that John wrote I performed that genre. All through my my young adulthood was aren't day which they don't even call. It are being music and more but it was. It was always rhythm and blues from it. Have you The the do you like the newer style of beer. You more of the old school because I have a lot of friends and uncles and things like that ain't Danny darned be. I know you know these days. It's different But you gotta remember. I grew up in his genre where musicians played like. Everyone played when I go in the studio and vocal. If I did twenty takes I did twenty tapes. There was no auto tune you had the slice tate to gather assess. And you had to be good at. You did because there was no shortcut around now. I'm a huge fan of the east of recording now. Because you know if you look behind me there's like thirty tracks that I don did. I played on piano and vocals in my Home Studio. That rivaled anything. I ever did in multi million dollar studios back in the early eighties. But I still stay true to that. It's my favourite and balance. Were really my thing like I wrote for Brandy. Wells I wrote for billy all You know I wrote for those guys I work with. Jeffrey is or and a Jewish. Just I've worked with George Clinton at one point. It was amazing because I got my first record deal. At ainun records I think in eighty four eighty five by Jonathan McLean which is really funny. Because they signed me sight unseen now got back today. It sounds ridiculous but back then it wasn't I remember walking into John McCain's office and he's like Greece and I'm like I really am lucid audio. Tony Loose Sedonia. I'm with the group off the street and he was like. So what do you do you play guitar like I'm like no? I'm the lead vocalist. No why.

Oh you mean she no no no no no no Philadelphia is not just. Yeah the cheese steak thing is it gets all the publicity but the roast pork and and roast beef life that big deal to without you know not on the grill not chopped up with onions and Whiz and and so forth so just check before you go to Philly Don't don't be taken in by the tourist by the tourist places will between me and Johnny and we'll Schwartz and and and my man Mike. It's lights on some onions and Whiz. Well the cheese Whiz I mean and the AH onions onions and for those There's nothing there's nothing nothing more challenging for Outta towners for for people that that are not philly natives or or people that have become veteran visitors. I to Philly. Then there's nothing more intimidating than going to one of the popular cheese steak joints and not knowing how to order. And you you get up get up to the counter and you know there's invariably been aligned whether you're going to Tony Luke's or if you are on pasture and you you know if you do go to PAT's or Gino's which you shouldn't but you know go go to go to the the offbeat locations nations some of the other gyms on south and last year Johnny and I this fall Johnny and I talked talked about a very famous place in northeast Philly that was known for years and years by what ultimately was viewed as derogatory name. And now it's Joe's but for years it was jinx and anybody in Philly. We'll we'll still refer to. It is going to chinks and that's about as that's really the the origin chinks is really the origin point of g stake in Philly. And you know rather than the PAT's and Gino's the touristy options there's so many so many great places I mean we talk about John's for roast pork and I. I've been telling everybody about the Knicks but when you get in line South I mean people people get intimidated and they don't necessarily know about the cheese. Whiz is and you know the the option of going with with Wiz orb with more. I prefer provolone so you know you call out what you want with your with your steak and mushrooms onions peppers with pro. You know whatever you're going to put on it But you better be ready because the locals the locals will just throw you out of the line. Nazi make.

You know, once you spend that money Machado. I don't wanna say needs to be all in right now because I don't think they're blasting this year. But man, would that left side of the infield. They have now and you're left handed ground ball thrower. That's a pretty good fit. Right there. Wouldn't shock me? Philly Philly and the Padres stay aggressive here. Chocolate. Tom Verduci, you can read his piece dot com right now. Of course, MLB network. Does a great job, Tom. If you were given the Yankees of truth serum here, do you feel like now seeing the Bryce Harper numbers? You think they would rather have judge and Harper and they're outfielder judge STAN. Well, I guess in a vacuum. It'd be judging Harper because you know, you really want that left handed power to complement the right handed power guy. That's that's the perfect world. But you know, good question. I never got the sense of the Yankees were totally in love with Bryce Harper. I don't think they regret the thing at all. I mean, listen, you guys know New York, you almost have to give that the big name player that I I'm not gonna say mulligan. Yeah. It's like breaking a new car, man. You're not gonna drive it at seventy five miles an hour right away. You need that break in your New York. And I think that you'll see about Stanton this year. So I don't think there's a regret there. I mean, they got under their terms, and that's the key here. I mean to get Harper. They would have had to play this game of the Yankees. Always are can't drive up the market. So I think the difference is getting Stanton on their own terms or something they don't regret. Tom look at Brodie van wagon. And right now, he's been outspoken there all the time where the team to beat blah, blah, blah. And as a matter who signs. Is this bluster a little bit too much guy that just stepped in to a job? He's never had before. And Brit some creative moves on. I think we'd all agree. The Mets are better. But you look at this division and you look at their history of keeping pitchers nuts. Not being able to keep it yourself. I mean, it just feels like. Don't look behind the curtain. Yeah. I get what you're saying. Chris it's it's maybe over the top. But I think it's necessary. I mean, you're talking about that really needs to change in mindset and change the culture. I think they've done that for what it's worth as much you can do in the off season. Right. I think there's a lot more optimism around the team expectations that they should be high. And they are let's wait to see how it plays out. But I think what brody's doing he's putting his stamp on the team. I thought Mickey Callaway we're going to do that last year because I love it. I love the energy. He brings it. The smart. He has about pitching. But you know, Brody was I mean, let's face it. He AJ. Fifteen got the same kind of rave reviews. Right. People will call him a rock star and that blew up on the Padres. But I think in very similar to prowler and San Diego, if you're the leader of the organization, which clearly Brody is now you said the talent I think he's doing the right thing by making the expectation tie and listen going to have to live up to it. But right now is just talk. But I do think it's necessary talk. I find a one for eight Taliban. This is a detail out of your story about Bryce Harper. When the Phillies decided to start the courtship in December. They had the slickly produced video with many prominent Philadelphians Kenya. Name two of them. Who made the cut? Good question. Why you don't know any big chefs until it was a Tony, Luke. Yeah. There's patent Gino. Jay Wright might have been a part of that that count. Okay. You know, who he is? I think he does. Bell is trying to recruit him to Philly. I saw that talk about this. He should take a look at the eagles cap space. Hope he ain't trying to hang out with lady I could get him in trouble. I don't know if there's two more divergent people, Bryce Harper, Libya, bell Bryson, more in Libya. Bill snot. Appreciate it. You got any time. You read the Bryce Harper piece because it does take you step by step through. How it all went down with the Phillies dot com and MLB network. Of course as a great job all throughout spring training to thirty-five. We'll talk about that in the closer coming up in just a few minutes. I was kind of like not joking about the J right thing. Not. No, this is no disrespected Jay Leno. They've won national championships. But do you think Bryce Harper? I mean, he's watching March madness. He's a human being. If you want to national championships in the last five years, this is also right in your spring training. And you're you know, it's always the final four and opening day are always like back to back. No, he knows Mike success sec-. In a in cal-. I'll put a bet on that. Right now. Can you ask Bryce Harper and? And. You know, what I? You can smacked me around next. I deserve it for something. I did earlier after not you for the same thing earlier in the week. Yep. That's me. If you're like me. Hypocrite, and you always know who's going to win every single basketball game. You're always right. But if you not like me, don't worry because fantasy sports books. Got you covered. Sign up plays a risk bet. Five hundred dollars on any game. And.

"Pack. You get ten so you get the hat so much with it yeah. That's the better philosophy. Have you ever had their ice cap. Yes you know yeah those bomb. The ice cap is good and I headed at one point and I think the American Tim Hortons got rid of them is they were the frozen hot chocolate. Yeah I get rid of them high think they did get rid of them and I was so sad because that's how i-it's the nice cats I think I tried the frozen hot chocolate. I and I mentioned that to a Canadian friend of mine and he was like well number one. We don't have those and number two. He's like that sounds like an ice cap so okay. I'll I'll try and is gap next time I go and I had like Oh. The icecaps really good too so I think the <hes> the time before last I had <hes> is cab last time I didn't because I had enough like energy drinks and everything to go down at Tennessee housing animal. I don't need an extra thing a coffee and extra thing that drink already have enough justin. You got me going now. Man I want. I want sheets wanted Tony. Luke's and I want Tim's so I'm analyst cravings going on like a pregnant. I like pregnant person here now. When you go down to Tennessee you need to hit up cookout all aw I've heard a lot about cookout man I gotta try that and my favorite spot which I don't know if you've had this before they're not everywhere not even known in Ohio is chicken place called sack? B.'s Dude Jesse turned me onto that <hes> kazaks rocks bro like when I actually saw since fricken killer dude I I bring some home every time a whole man like a after I got into town me that to break the illusion for anybody like me. Jesse Brett coup and <hes> lane we all went as axes and I like every time I go now. I'm like I get five extra things as access and that may cost. I I think five cents a P._R.. Quarter apiece okay so I I don't care like I'll I'll pay them dollar twenty-five but I'm taking some home with me really heated with other stuff because it's so good or God yeah. That place is awesome Jesse. I see you told me about another place. Called raising cane's down and I found a couple on the map. I think there's a couple. Maybe not too far from you. Maybe in Ohio I want to say but I I was getting rid of good mid south. It was the trip that never happened that was going to go to either way and then they wind up canceling the shell but headed all plan that if I went there I was going to hit raising cane's Zach's B.'s at one point and then raising cane's way me and my friend could really kinda get a feel for what was better but Jesse says raising cane's is so it's it's a big discussion like before. Every time I go down to Columbus. That was another thing like I tim hortons up and I hit as a raising cane's all you've had that Oh yeah and then a couple of years not a couple of years ago this last year they opened up to not too far from a one is literally ten miles away. I will have pulled up the directions at seventeen minute drive and get to have one that close. It's it's it's really good. They have their own sauce but I need to do another like taste test comparison of something that's not necessarily <hes> raising cain menu item because that will really affect raising cain sauce. I need to try something like chicken tenders that I could buy the store chicken nuggets something like that or even like a sandwich which which ones better but yeah. That's that's another good. One like raising cane's is is still good and I realized affect one's was really close. It almost makes me say like makes me not Miss B's as much but it's still good and I I think Zach sauce is better than raising cane's laws but I I'm going to at least open myself up for a taste good call yeah. I'll be waiting to hear what you say about that but yeah offered listens to the show man they're going to be. They're going to be hungry as fuck. I would think man that's Jeez. That's the fun thing too is. I think everybody everybody really connects on food one way or another that Ev. There's something that we all love about food like whether it be you know whether it be you know like sheets are Wa wa or you know all the fast food places who has the WHO has the best nuggets so who has the best hamburger. It's definitely a fast food nation for real. We are so ever Cook cookout man. What's the go-to on that at the cookout? What do you think I should? I should nab when I get there where I would say hit up Jesse because I've had cookout like once or twice so I don't have a wide knowledge of their their menu. I've tried a couple of things it's almost similar to Wa wa of like not having as much experience with it but I thought it was it was good. It wasn't something I would be like Nah I wouldn't I wouldn't go there okay. It's everybody raves about that. The many different types of shake vets that they have <hes> <hes>. I forget which ones I've gotten it's been it's been almost four years. I think it's the last time I went to a cookout. Actually when I when I went down to nationally was like okay. Do we want to Zachary's cookout on like I don't know man. I'm really WANNA go to complain if we go to cook out but yeah I'm more leaning towards that and that's what we ended up yeah. How do you pass up Zachary's? If you're in the area. I've never been able to do it if I see one. No matter who were in the car we the brakes we we we pump the brakes man or hit the turn signal or whatever to go in Zach spy's no doubt sacked Abe's Tim Hortons then my other favorite. If I in the area of one like did do this on the trip on the way back is a shoney's. Oh Yeah Yeah shoney's I've been to one. I want to go to the Scott Steiner one man I wanted to go there when he first announced it and then when the he put up that video of the of him writing bulldozer and like tearing down the shoney's and everything I'm like that makes you wanna go even more really adding to it. It's seems to be like that would not to mention to walk into like Oh. This is the one that Scott Steiner owns right. Where is that one umbro? Where's that again somewhere in Atlanta? I don't know where off the top of my head or like. Lease within the vicinity of Atlanta might be somewhere north like don't one hundred percent now yeah that that's a pilgrimage that has to be made men at some point. I gotta go there. I thought about at one point going to Jerry lawler joint in Memphis. I can't remember where it was going and was gonna be a few our detour to go through Memphis and I just didn't wind up doing it but I always have wanted to kind of. Check that just to say I did price some cool memorabilia in there too. I I definitely want to go to Memphis for a lot of things. That's another thing <hes> I'm a friend of a friend of lawler. So I WANNA add off. I could could get a meeting with him or not but I the barbecue like the barbecue joint sounds really good that he had he has to so so I really WanNa just have loving barbecue so much. I WanNa try that <hes> I love to go to Graceland. There's so much to do in Memphis. Even when I was down there in Tennessee for while the Nashville I was like well. There's like all these other stuff. I WANNA do while I'm here yeah. I don't know if I'll get the chance and even somewhere between Nashville and Knoxville. There's Titanic Museum that I really WanNa go to while so it's like there's so much ado there but I did not have enough time. Yeah you gotta go to Graceland I grew up with my father was a huge fan so by proxy I became one because we were in the car or whatever it was always he had elvis on and so I became a fanny took me there a few times when I was younger and I mean I there was one of my students came in and do the speech on Graceland and I was shocked because it seems that the newer generation just don't i. I haven't heard many people ever even mentioned Elvis or being a fan. You know feels feels like his. The days of Elvis generating new fans might be coming to a halt a little bit but maybe I'm wrong. I might not have my finger on the pulse of that but they sound lady was all in she had pictures and she was all excited about it. So yeah you gotta go. I think the thing with Elvis is there hasn't been anything new or no worthy from Elvis Novice. He's not gonNA come out. Dan Use soup but I'm looking at something recently with Queen Bohemian rhapsody I think if they were to come up with a new elvis movie yeah that could help get a younger generation and 'cause no that's good point man the older any any type of medium Liam gets or any type of an artist gets that it's hard to bring people back in like I grew up being a huge fan of though now lake great comedian breath skeleton not many people my age group note who the Hell Red Skelton even his but <hes> grant I think the thing that that lasts with a lot of people is the his pledge of allegiance breakdown but that's all they know I'm like oh well. He was really funny. He was a great mime and comedian and he had his own show he was on T._v.. For like I think close to twenty years I could be wrong and he was just so much fun but like I said I grew up watching old V._H._s.. Tapes of him and most people that I knew had no idea who he was and if they whatever to re release that those those t._v. shows or something like that that could spark a younger generation but it's with him. There's no hope but I think Elvis third. There's there's potential there especially with the revival of these these these music movies and you're so bang on their especially with the Queen because I was I was in McDonald's because my kids are so small so I'm always on the lookout for the play place McDonald's. If we don't have anything to do that day or whatever that's kind of a good place to go for them. Let him burn some energy but I went in and the girl at the counter and she was really young. Lady I mean maybe eighteen and she was just just clapping along radio singing Radio Gaga and I said come on how do you know Radio Gaga you know and I didn't I didn't think fast on my feet that Oh the movie right and so she was singing lyrics in a real clear and then I had a student in class talk about how the live aid with Freddie up there just capturing it was magic right and I'm that was one of the performances of all time that's really awesome near you talk about that because I know it was before you were born but wow that's awesome that you know it and I you nailed it. I mean yeah yeah if there was to be an elvis movie or something back out that would change the game there. You're right now what I would need to it would have to be another elvis new because I think there was one yeah with Russell Crowe. I I want to say <hes> Kurt Kurt Russell Kurt Russell yet every yes I'm close. I kind of have the name <hes> so yeah that would I think breathe a lot of light and even too late growing up when I did a lot of people don't really have much idea who like buddy holly or regime Alice's drew but maybe they grew up watching La Bamba Yep or may be they heard the Weezer Song Buddy Holly because that's I think I've asked people like when I say Buddy Hollywood..

"Yeah and you know you probably know Jesse story about how he went to sheets I guess and they gave him some fucked up coffee and he you know he's had a sour taste about it ever since then and that sort of happened to me with Wa wa I mean I'm a sheets all day too and I'm in wild wild country but dude. I don't think there's a comparison I really don't she says so much more selection but you know whatever it's debatable guests Jesse Nossa I tease him about it too but I have the same kind of thing I went to Wa wa and they I don't know they they fucked up a sandwich. I ordered or something then they said we don't have that. That's why you and the guy said you can either have chicken strips or chicken this and he was giving me choices of something that I really didn't want and the kind of looked at him because I wasn't prepared for to be asset kind of question and kept repeating it as if I have to really say this low for this dumb mute so he said you can have chicken strips or chicken whatever he said and I just eventually said okay. Just give me the money back and I left and now I don't think I'll ever set foot in a while again so I can understand you know holding a doesn't make sense that one incident in from a rational mind doesn't make sense that would make me not wanna go wa Wa but honestly I mean. I was fringe anyway with them. I really don't care for while while the coffee. I'm not crazy about the the the sub some not crazy about. I think sheets kills them. Every day on. I'm ready made things to eat fresh fresh things you can eat I look for I look for sheets all the time. I'm so excited when I see one on the road. I can't wait to stop there like the thing that I always heard about wow while even while I always heard about how interested in general and I remember when I first stopped. I posted a picture of me while on everybody that I know it was like you need to try the cookies and cream milk. Okay the cookies and cream milk is great plus. I'll give them that <hes> the other two things that I have my experience of going to wobble that I really do like an always give them credit for is they have a barbecue cheese steak which is really good in the first time I tried that I was in Philly the day after I had one of the uh the really good cheese steak places in fellow yeah the one by the EC W ahead Oh Tony Luke's yet the Dow was it always forgotten the best bro. That's the best one so good so the next day I had the barbecue and I'm like I love Barbecue in general's on like this is pretty awesome and then I went down to Wrestlemainia went to Iowa and I went to buy macaroni and cheese and they offered me like three different sizes and getting Mac and cheese at sheets one size. That's it the last time I've had it's been a little while so I was like Oh wow was offering me sizes. I'm like that plus but to compare which one's better. It's like saying okay I go to McDonalds and I get the big Mac I I think the big MACs better than the Walker and I'm like well. Why don't you try the Walker next to the quarter pounder with cheese because I'm in that's just a quarter pounder like that's the actual comparison which of those is better so I always want to like get something at one and it's something which one I liked the best I mean there's things I do like about while but right? I think sheets is a lot better but then in our area we have a chain which you better known of a little bit about on the how long you been out of Bob Buffalo because I actually was in buffalo and they had this chain up there. Is We have a chain of grocery stores called Giant Eagle and Giant Eagle has its own gas station in the past say five years they've grown in more of the made to order stuff okay and the favorite sandwich and I know a lot of people that I know agree with me that something that we praise and it's called the pilgrim comes out during thanksgiving. Okay the breads made okay that stuffing <hes> and has Turkey gravy cranberries on it cranberry sauce. I know missing some things I want to say. There's mashed potatoes on it. I'm sold yet it is it is so got me men so that when people say sheets are all in like I prefer sheets but yeah a Gecko is supreme but last time I was not in buffalo is in Erie Rier. I has has that changed. The buffalo doesn't what they have is because I was talking to independent wrestler puff one thing the buffalo has I love. THAT JESSE LOVES THAT WE DON'T GET everywhere like they're in my area but not nearly as much Tim Tim Hortons Oh Jeez Dude. Let me some Tim Tim Hortons of Tim bits are amazing. I always think up here because they don't they don't know squat about good coffee or whatever here I mean. It's Dunkin donuts or starbucks folks. That's it and I mean they're okay. Dunkin's okay. I'm not. I'm not a starbucks guy because it's a little strong for me but I understand people are different tastes on that but I always thought if I had the money I would bring Timmy hose franchise franchise up here and kick. Everybody's ASS. No you know. I just think that these cats if they got a if they got a taste of that game over but I could be wrong. I think it's it all has to do with distribution like it's crazy how it works in my area the closest Tim Hortons I think is like there's two of them but they're an hour ish in opposite directions. Oh okay there's none in Cleveland but then when you get down towards Columbus abyss there's a bunch like it's just an ample amount on my okay. We have them down there. We have a couple other spots none in Cleveland none in Akron Canton but then like you get into pencil. Sorry getting closer the Pennsylvania there's more. I don't know if there's any in the Anna plan like wh where's this going 'cause those trucks that go down to Columbus and go to these other places. They're driving through the area. I seen one pass me on my way home one day. I'm like okay. There's a Tim hortons truck. Why don't we have a franchise here because I think it would kill to yes? There's a name brand with them that you always hear about even if they're not in your area so in one finally pops up you go. I need to try them out because always heard about this franchise. Yeah the are so good. Oh Yeah I mean I've been on a scavenger hunt of sorts to try to find wherever I could because you know I was spoiled for. I was born and raised in Buffalo so I came here to Jersey in two thousand six but I was there my whole life buffalo and able to go up to Canada when we're on it and all that stuff so I mean I was used to tim importance. You know anywhere wanted and here that it's random where you can find them. There is one in New York Penn station which is this is how weird I am. Ah That's a destination point for me. I properly. I haven't done this before I usually. I have something to do in New York when I get there but I could see myself taking a trip just for the Thames you know I I would do that so like when I went down to Tennessee I stopped Tim Hortons on the way down in Columbus and I stopped at the same on the way back yeah and brought some Tim bits back for my girlfriend because I I always get him bits. I I always get an assorted pack like I'll get some other food to her. I'll get this sorted pack and I always hope that I find ones that have the Jelly donut those are to me. Those are the best I'm not a huge jelly donut fan but I feel like there's just the perfect amount of jelly for that little donut or doesn't feel like overkill so yeah I had that on the way down actually left a all my leftovers two to Jesse. He's getting a lot of love them. Both he's upset. The hobie enjoys it by no right but it on the way back I had seen how when I was there the first time they had coffee Tim bits now. It's like a new flavor. My girlfriend loves that flavor like loves describe everything coffee and I picked her up like a special ten pack and just all coffee Offi ones because I wanted her to enjoy 'cause you're like well. Why don't you get assorted like well? If I do that like the seven flavors you might get one might get to at best so I'm like I give you a whole ten pack. You get ten so you get the hat so much with it yeah. That's it's a better philosophy. Have you had their ice cap. Yes you know yeah those bomb. The ice cap is good and I headed at one point and I think the American <hes> Tim Hortons got rid of them is they were the frozen hot chocolate uh-huh yeah. I yeah they get rid of them. I think they did get rid of them and I was so sad because that's how I eat an ice caps. I think I tried the frozen hot chocolate. I I mentioned that to a Canadian friend of mine and he was like well number one. We don't have those and number two. He's like that sounds like an ice cap so I'm like okay. "On off day where the the clouds take a break and see the sun. And then they'll come back. A few days of sunshine. It hasn't been so on the warm side if you like to go to eat in Philadelphia most curious about I stop Tony Luke's spent their spent so much time. The Tony Luke's was. Cheese steak steak. Wonder that I have other spots just getting down there right now. I just don't want to deal with it. So good stuck in a hotel. Well, I'm glad you're enjoying your time in Philadelphia, sir. I appreciate that was people who do not know. Kevin Francis is going to be one of the analysts for the Philadelphia Phillies for twenty nineteen role. Very excited for him. I know I am, sir. I've told you that a million times I'll have to kiss your ass. No longer about that. I don't care for you to think that I told you how does your so how was your weekend? Wouldn't wouldn't you leave for Philly? Did you leave this weekend? And I left I left Monday morning. Early sunday. I TSA. Well, I got the TSA pre check so much going on there. So to me, I left I left so early that you just cruise through. Little crazy, though on the other side. How's the weather is the line? I mean, it just wasn't a lot of people working over. Yeah. Yeah. That frustrates me so much. I've heard some horror stories about TSA in the past week or two from friends of mine who've had to travel standing in line is obviously the biggest gripe two hours three hours in line. Just sit standing there doing nothing as your phone battery's draining. Is there anything worse with a dead battery on your phone, and you still have an hour to go. Nope. That's when you start Cussing, right? We not allowed. I would agree on that. I want to say something about my weekend, honest with you. So and throw it in there. I went to a charity event at the in Dublin. Oh, nice for a Oakland. Police officer who is fighting for his life. Obser- Jordan Wingate who was involved in an accident. A few months ago. And there was this workout that they had in Dublin. And it was it was absolutely fantastic. You know, how much I love law enforcement how much I love cops. I was out there on Saturday morning cheering everybody on who was working out for Jordan Wingate Wingate who's fighting for his life. So that was that was a great event, man. It was really cool to see OPD there and all the uniform cops and his dad was there. I've got to talk to. So it was good, man. We're all we're all praying for Wingate. Hope feels a lot better when I was really good thing to be a part of and later on the shell throw out. Exactly, you know, if you if you feel inclined to donate the have the grub hub for the family. They gotta go. Yeah. So I'll throw out all the details without for officer, Jordan, Wingate, hopefully, hopefully, he pulls through, but it was a great great time there on Saturday just talking to OPD and everybody out there. I just want to throw that out there for a second before we move on France because they're just so many things get into I don't even know really where to start. So we started the hall of fame do need to start with with NFL you want because we're gonna hit up everything I think we should do the hall of fame. I man because this news broke know four hours ago about the class of two thousand nineteen unfortunately giants fans very bonds not involved in this year's hall of fame. And I have my thoughts on it. I have my thoughts in the entire process when it comes to the hall of fame voting, you know, how irritated I get with it. I want to talk to giants fans eight away Cambior's number..

"Well, I think a couple of things I think that they need to upgrade the wide receiver position relatively significantly. Because you have to assume Garoppolo will be a good quarterback what level of good that's hard to say. Because the sample size is not large enough to come right out and say, oh, here's what he is. But I think he's a quality NFL quarterback with a chance to be very good. They need to upgrade and wide receiver. I think they need impact defenders, I think Buckner is a really solid defensive tackle. But I think they need to me. They don't have impact offenders, and I know that easy co shade phrase. But I think we all know what that means. You know, we we started this talking about Aaron Donald there's not twenty hours Donald. So that it's not like that guy's just sitting there waiting to be drafted. But they don't really have those kinds of players on the defensive side of the ball. That's well said, yeah, that's exactly I mean, obviously, they didn't pass they need pass rushers need to cover corner. They receivers by the way. Financial everything financial aside because I don't think they can do it. I've been explaining for two days to fans why I don't think Antonio Brown financially by the steel. I don't think the Steelers can trade him. I don't think the giants can trade Odell Beckham junior. But all that aside would you like Beckham junior and Brown for the Niners in which one. Do you think? Well, better. What are we putting aside personality crates? I mean, 'cause you know, none of us really know about that other than what we sleep. On the field and one thirty and one's twenty six. So I don't know if you can exactly I don't know if that's an apt comparison because maybe everybody take Beckham because he's young. I mean, assuming both guys are choirboys, you know, I would probably at this point their careers. Take back on my back I missed phenomenal. But not that Brown isn't, but you know, Beckham's younger, but as as as just traipse players, I you know, I love Beckham. I think he's he's ridiculous. That's fair. All right fried. He's gonna come there, and whatever you want. He's. Behind the he's coming. We're all good coming over. You know, he's sitting in the dugout during the game. We're good to go. I just can't wait. Yeah, you're gonna so you guys you guys have got to trade going. You might get. As long as Tony Luke's is on him. I'm good. Oh. I'm nothing. Yeah. But no frame is gonna come over. I'm gonna show here at the NFL films with some tape. You know, we're good perfect. All right. Well, happy holidays. Happy new year. It's always great to talk to you. And we'll talk again soon. I appreciate it. Thanks guy. There's a great great great Greg Cosell. And he is great. A great term there impact offenders, they lack of they don't have them. But that's the thing. A lot of guys. John Lynch came into this whole thing with the worse roster in the NFL hands down. It's not easy to acquire impact players all throughout when you don't have anything on your roster to begin with. I can't be our had some really good stuff to say. We'll follow up on that. Coming up next. We haven't hit college football. Yeah. Plus, I heard your baseball guy at some point. We gotta get into this. Because we don't have Steve till five right? That's our next guest. So nasty. I'm gonna have to pay you off not to play that we we gotta hit at least for a few minutes. Why this is so slow and win. This is going to stop because I'm sure giants fans are freaking out because there's no signings. No rumors. And this whole thing baseball is going to change this thing. I've got to figure out how to get guide signed earlier and keep some buzz in the off season. We'll get into that as well. Only here on the sports leader. But first, here's your.
