"37 on your Monday morning Happy Labor Day Mike Ferguson in form our cocks If you missed the weekend report yesterday, and if you did yesterday because it's on Satur Saturday Sted on Saturday. Today. I know I'm still I'm still half a cup and a half of coffee end of the day. But we have a pretty pointed debate Carl over the entire approach to dealing with Kimberly Gardener. And the state Legislature. We just talked about with Rodney Boyd and I think it's worth a realist. And so let's hear that this is part of the weekend report specifically talk about targeting Kimberly Gardner's office with the state wanting the attorney general to come in with Tony Colombo and Christopher RV. The lawmakers of Jefferson City are attempting to pass a bill to somehow rain in Kim Gardener, Can you Can you fill us in on the details of what they are trying to get accomplished there in Jeff City? Yeah, these descendant kind of tweaked that bill that the house had done the week earlier in the special session. So now it's got to go back to the house for them to approve what the Senate approved and it's kind of causing. I mean, he's a big words sound smart consternation among ah bunch of state reps in the ST Louis area, and it's not even just raining in Kimberley Gardener. It's just by passing her. So you know the media in ST Louis and a lot of the Democratic Activists are saying this bill targets Kimberly Gardner and the people who you know, opposed Kimberly Gardens, Kimberly Gardner say. Yeah. Yeah, that's what it's doing its targeting her. I talked to Senator Tony Lucca Mayer last weekend, and he pointed out that of the cases that she actually prosecuted and murder cases. She's got a rolling conviction rate of 50 to 60%. So even if she chooses To go after a case She's got one of the lowest conviction rates in the country when it comes to murder, so lawmakers air saying that theater knee general should be able to go in and prosecute cases if her office Won't or if they think they're going to be a better fit and course, Kimberly Gardner and some other Democratic wraps were saying, This is a personal This is political. It's going after her because she's been, you know, kind of a thorn in the side to some Republicans and Republicans were just saying that listen, she's not getting the job done, and people are getting it literally getting away with murder, So we have to allow the attorney general's office. To come in in this one particular jurisdiction of ST Louis City, so that's really what's going on. I think you're going to see some fireworks in the house, but there was the Senate. Republicans actually had to do that previous question tactic to get the bill through because the Democrats were trying to filibuster it, and they're angry because they say it's a local control issue. Ah, a lot of lawyers across the board actually don't like this because It's you know what they call dual jurisdiction and there's some lawyers. You say This is not the precedent you wanna set, but you know, at the same time a lot of bullets were flying and not a lot of bad guys are getting put in jail in ST Louis City. Is that something that you would support? Look, I think there's no question that Kimberly Gardner is being targeted when it comes to this legislation in the special session, and I say she should be targeted. If you look at ST Louis, it's turning into the wild, Wild West. I think she has, Mike said. A 15% conviction rate. She has a 100% turnover rate in the office during the last unrest that was in the city of ST Louis. Everyone that was arrested for looting a riding or are disturbing the peace or whatever the charges was, was released The next morning, Kimberly Gardeners inactive nous of carrying out justice is sending a message to the thugs and the looters and the rioters and the gangbangers and criminals. That it's free free rein on the citizens of Saint Louis, and especially since she is for this no bail movement, the criminals of saying that it's free rein and, ah, that she and she needs to be reined in support. This 1000% got a question for Mike. I do, Mike and this I mean, this is a question that I want to throw for all those Carl included into this discussion. My article that I wrote for redstate dot com last Friday had the headline Where in the world is Kamala Harris? If you remember after the convention, she was tried it out there as the first historic All of this. She was going to be everywhere. She brought excitement to the campaign. And then ever since the uprising in Portland, Kenosha, she has been basically silent here. They've got Joe out there now, but not her. What's the reasons that you guys think that they're hiding her away? I have my own reasons, but I want to get your thoughts. Go ahead, Mike. Well, I think her record when it comes to her time is The attorney general. And before that a prosecutor doesn't fit with the narrative of the hard left that they really want to bring in. You know the young, you know the young voters who may be support not only the black lives matter movement, but a lot of criminal justice reform elements that frankly could be bipartisan. By Mike Yeah, and I think that's what I thought. So I think that's what's happening. Yeah, and I think that's what's happening is, you know some of the criminal justice reform? Questions actually should be asked. We should be talking about some of these things. But just like Amy Klobuchar is record up in Minnesota that let Derek showing off the hook. When when he was, you know, accused of wrongdoing. There are people that Kamala Harris You know, locked up for for things like, you know, just drug possession and things like that..

"To you and everybody is just taking a moment. Celebrate and spend some time with their families, their hope. Absolutely. So now let's starting, so we've got three thes three big things happening. Let's um let's start. Let's start with the special session was interesting. Over the weekend, I found the story on Fox News. On DH. They were talking about the the most controversial part of the special session, which is amazing because there's some other laws dealing with guns and kids and stuff. But The Republicans in Jefferson City. Absolutely say we need to let the attorney general come in and start prosecuting murderers because Kimberly Gardner isn't doing it. I talkto state Senator Tony Lucca by about a week ago, and he said, Listen, even when she does prosecute She loses almost half the time. She's only got a 54 56% conviction rate. They'd just has to be done to protect the people of ST Louis and Fox to talk. Tio prosecutor Tim Loam are from ST Charles County who is a Republican. And he is not in favor of this matter. Fact here is part of what he told Fox to say. You've got to take the personalities out of it, because if you pass legislation that's an indefinite Law that's going into effect, regardless of the people who come and go down the road, I So when you just get it for what it is, is Jefferson City politician coming into a local electorate? It's saying we think we could do a better job than the person that you chose to do this job, and we just think that's bad public policy. OK, so he's saying ah, to some degree is a personality conflict, although he did talk about public policy. Jamilla Nasheed last week, said it's about attacking a black woman. What is it to you? You know to me, It's It's something that has become overly politicized that I wish I hadn't been. So what I mean by that before you This law passed the Senate. I wantto make one carry out for you. Legislation that passed that it still has to go to the House representatives on be taken up by the House in past and there is there is a sense that that will happen. But not a certainty, So there's a sense that the House will deal with it, but it's not certain. In fact, we haven't heard yet from the speaker of the House is to win. The house might take this measure up, so I want to put that caveat out there. What it is to me is a bunch of politics around an issue that I wish I hadn't gotten so politicized. We know that the Murder right city. ST. Louis is the highest in the state and for capital, one of the highest in the nation. That is not sort of lining up with a sense of justice. For a lot of the families where this thing took a political turn is almost in every group you talked about. There's a There's a reason why therefore against it, but it's what it doesn't deal with the underlying issue of unsolved homicides or on adjudicated homicide. So let me let go his group when you talk to the prosecutor on ST Charles Well, what is the prosecutor's fundamental concerns? It's about being able to control their office. They're elected and they don't want any sort of over starter intervention from the state and, quite frankly, are from the federal government. But under the law before this bill passed any circuit attorney which is what we call our prosecutors, any circuit attorney could have invited in the attorney general's right now The process is If you feel you can't make prosecuted case because of whatever reason you invite the attorney general's office head That's a process does not new. There have been hundreds of, um Homicide cases brought by the attorney general's office on behalf of circuit attorneys When they're acting in concert in this case, because of the partisan divide, that acting in concert is not an option came going. His office is not Has not probably would never seek the involvement of the attorney general's office and I think doesn't tragedy. I think if we could have found a way for these two officers to say, Look where you can handle cases and adjudicate them because for whatever reason, my office can't That's what I thought would have served Missouri as well. I think what the Legislature is trying to do is to say, Look, there's a process that's in play. If you don't want to use it, we're going to say there's an auction for it to be used. We talked about. This is an overreach and I'm not going to sort of say in either side on it, but I'll say there is a process to this concurrent jurisdiction thing. Interesting to me the way I read it If a case hasn't been adjudicated for 90 days, which is think about what that what that say someone has been murdered, and the local law enforcement believe they've got actionable case for whatever reason. That case hasn't been brought. The way the way the Bill Reza's. You can take that application. The attorney general's office can take that application to the circuit to a judge in the circuit court nasty just to allow them to bring the case so it's not like they just get to come in and say, I'm going to cherry pick this case of that case, But even that's a bridge too far for almost circuit attorney. They don't want that process. Well, they don't want their process, not because I don't believe these cases should be adjudicated. They don't want because it believes they believe in conveys the sovereignty of their elected office back to that political stuff that It's great theatre. Unless you're the family member of someone has been murdered like that. That's not what you want to hear. When you're trying to figure out why is someone not been arrested for killing my loved one? You really want to hear about all this stuff, so I get a little bit. Sort of bets for the victims, and there are many of them. There are a lot of people in our state have a loved one has been murdered, and they just don't know why it is not priority number one for whether it's the circuit attorney. The attorney general or who ever had the authority to say This is my biggest priority. And I think that's the space in which this debate is sort of lacking a lot more content I would have loved and still want to hear more from the families out there. That they have been sitting around for whatever and no one knocked on my door and told me win or how he's sailing is going to be arrested. That's the space sort of, I think is missing from the political conversation, which is going to go on. As this legislation makes his way back to the house, you'll hear more circuit attorneys say its a bridge too.

so much for station and it was our grandmother actually that reached out to me and asked for help and honestly I I grabbed their Chasin and his staff and then I sat down with Toni deluca the state rep we just had on the air we're getting traction as we call in the business and Tony has legislation that he says will get pass he says there's a lot of support to make tying up the process take the Kinks out of it so to speak maybe we can save some lives critical to this in in this amber alert to changing this law is has been Eric Schaefer and I want to talk to him Erica morning Sir how are you good morning hunger W. nine excellent so we had Tony on the air it's as you discuss serve he's got legislation he has strong support I'm convinced that we can make a difference I think you are too are you not Sir yeah absolutely Marty it's it's something that if you look at the amber alert and and the way it's organized in Pennsylvania other states frankly there's a lot of room for discretion throughout the system and I think that can be tightened up vertically were we have small children like and all the money was I saw the basis of the legislation can you tell our listeners on the structure of a Sir can you tell our listeners what it would entail Eric yes so it's it's pretty simple referring to it is a non Johnson role and it basically says that if a parent immediate family member presents to a police officer and says my child been adopted and there's a risk of serious injury or death and that can be verified quickly I've I fear concern with my child safety that there's immediately to the set through the system the amber alert and it does take a couple of steps will go to the state police still will be much more rapid and fasten what happened Lee Johnson or we see in other cases Eric has been very closely involved this case please correct I think this is a Roni is suppose for a woman said unfortunately this baby could not have been saved by the amber alert because the father did not report his child missing kidnapped till an hour later I don't think that's accurate is it Sir so one of the things that we've been after since the beginning of the case is actually the timeline from Penn hills which they haven't been willing to disclose I I've been in court import all week on a on a case of national radiation so my partner Pat Bruce's action court this morning after the hearing that's going on there is in some information or confusion I think that's out what exactly PJ the father had said to the police and the reality is as I understand it that he reported within just a few minutes hi I think there's some confusion about exactly what he said I think that will come out some in court today we'll hear more about that but I think really importantly I think it regardless of what the story is and I haven't talked to PJ I don't know what the story right he worked with the French will be I think really importantly regardless of whether it's the father says to a police officer and your driver took my child a lift driver or someone that you acquaintance of mine when you're saying that to a police officer the reality is is they should be acting in here I think that that creep that possibly creating confusion if that's the case but it does and I think a laminate the need for the change the law so that we're able to have the police officers act more rapidly teach at first protect the child and then verify the facts Hey this is a good thing but as we both learned if you don't push nothing happens right Eric absolutely it's it's like most things when it comes to law is you have to push you have to allocate it's really important one of the things were getting ready to do is is release a petition that people can sign and show support for the change in the law in Pennsylvania and really get the attention like that officials so they're not distracted by many other things on their plate really focus on important things can save lives like this yeah Jason it's always a pleasure man I can't thank you enough for getting the middle this and Tony Lucca we just Adam on there is all over this all right I'll be talking with him thank you are I tell yeah Erica Chasin is an extraordinary attorney he's in litigation in Florida yet these are set up one on one conversation with Tony Lucca can let me add to this because I think it's important because everybody thinks that lawyers are chasing money all the time this has nothing to do with money Eric Schaeffer into this pro bono free and it's actually why we're friends because he kind of lives this way in a pursues these things because they're so important and let me say this is well we're not playing law enforcement here we're not rules are rules in different apartments have different rules and I think that's what they're talking about I think that's what Tony Lucas talking about let's take the color out of this let's take that out of this is let's clean up a little bit let's make it easier because the quicker you get out the word the faster you can look and see if you can actually find a missing kids and also as Eric suggests in as Toni deluca suggests a state rep folks always say yeah yeah yeah but we have all these false reports their point is in a spot on and their plan is and this spot on Hey if someone's making up allegations of a kidnapping arrest them charge them prosecutors in other words don't eliminate changes in this law that could save lives because you're worried about false reporting arrest and prosecute folks filing false reports try to save a life here I don't know nobody knows of no money Johnson of could even save but thank god for her grandmother honestly pushing me and pushing Eric to make this work and and I can't be more grateful telling deluca traffic Hauser now featuring genesis of pleasant hills Hey Greg Hey Marty of parkway east of us getting heavy for your down between edge with Swiss fail and the squirrel hill "In the great out doors Tony Colombo here with producer Chad Ellis my partner Bo Matthews and Alex solved in from the Missouri firearms coalition all in studio this week and as I mentioned earlier joining us now on the phone is our friend newsmaker next state Rep next rower who is in New York I hope I'm not giving away any secrets there is joining us from New York so that is freaking awesome and I'm sure he's working on something very very important because that is what news maker Nick does say rep sure great job with my friend is going out what is going great I'm in the Big Apple New York City just steps away from the trump tower which she is now vacated moved to income tax free state of Florida yeah working hard out here and glad to be on a month to get on the radio yeah and Percy H. your appreciate your time today I we were together add the awesome guns N. hoses event last week and I I mentioned this earlier that we got a chance to catch up a little bit and talk about some of the things that you are working on for the new legislative session and we just dive right into it you know it's always a battle every every year you guys are fighting for not only gun rights but a lot of other you know bills and and issues in the state of Missouri but for right now I wanted to talk to you about some of those some of those gun bills that you are either supporting or that you are submitting yourself what for you is sort of top priority as we go into the new legislative session when it comes to the second amendment and and gun rights in the state of Missouri well the first bill them bringing back which I filed my first year of made national headlines for this concept and it's this year can be house bill fourteen fifty seven total kind of neat because it with all the different building I'm filing it's hard to remember which one but having bill fourteen fifty seven which is very close to my favorite caliber the three fifty seven make me remember exactly what this bill does and what it would do is apply the same premises liability laws and protections that businesses have to offer business and buy cheap so let's say if you own a little mom and pop shop business invitee come then the football because you failed to put salt down on the ice they can sue you because you did not provide for the protection when you invited them that we have a constitutional right in our state constitutional Kerrey flew right along with the second amendment to protect ourselves our family members and defend others if we need be so it would with the laws that we have in the gun free zones a church some of the most dangerous places not only in Missouri but across the nation it there's no obligation for the business owner to provide for the protection if they're gonna strip you your second in the right so what this bill actually would do if they look the same premises liability prongs it that would apply to businesses inviting in certain people that would apply if they're going to strip you of your second of all right they must provide for the protection and if someone is hurt in can prove that with that second right fully intact if they would have been able to have their firearm on them they could have stop something from happening to them they would have a a claim in our court so will bring that one back again and that one I know it is going to set a lot of controversy but now the way that these these bills moved I've talked to other people friends of mine injured Taylor she's bringing back more pro second legislation this might open the door to have his bill attached to mine in in you know what and and I I that's a that's a great idea but what I hear that I think if we just eliminated the gun free zones we wouldn't have to come up with all these workarounds to it and and I and I appreciate the effort because you know obviously the gun free zone was something that we tried for really hard last year to didn't go through but I mean if we if we were just able to eliminate the gun free zones in the state of Missouri wouldn't that when that cover everything well I I agree and that's one of the reasons why do you support any legislation that under that will get rid of these countries out you know there there's an argument away at what you're doing and that's good and and at least that's steps in the right direction somebody you know it's a great place to start but it's just so frustrating that we can't just you know broadly get rid of all of it at once so I agree I agree one other person and I think you know when you look at government government moves slowly the the bill that we had last year the the pro life bill was one fell swoop grand slam it's probably going to be the new trend setter wants to come to court you know look at it and say what they've done here is fully constitutional so you know that is an oddity that we get something that big done in one fell swoop in one year the first year that the file but I know yeah we're gonna Taylor's filed this bill a year after year and we we can get out of committee so I would much rather have one piece of the pie rather than go away hungry your after year but yeah like I said you know I'm supporting the bill I think they're gonna be several pieces of legislation that are going to get you know do away with these gun free zones which I think is you know putting the targets on many victims back allowing for criminals who are going to obey that sign on the door some and and prey upon Missouri yeah I think it's smart I think it's a it's a smart way to start Alex what do you think about that a bit would trying to chip away from the inside of the whole gun free zone issue well I like the idea and concept of letting people know very clearly where you know where their gun free zones are and you know certain private business owners for having their gun free zones and would definitely start the conversation or continue the conversation but you know where we said we want a full repeal of all the gun free zones I mean we've got twelve or so that are mandated just at the state level so before we you know provide or before we go and try to take on the private business owners and their to their decision on what their gun gun policies are going to be I think that we've got some major work to do with the public gun free zones yet now I can start with a good book and don't you don't you feel it's more dangerous where somebody is pulling up to a building that has a sign that no guns allowed to know farms are a lot of this building they stowed away in their vehicle maybe they don't have a lock box and they walk in and now that gun is vulnerable to be stolen in if if the bad guys or the bad girls are watching they're going to see you open your your glove box or you know return to your seat and they're gonna knoll just by sitting there because what else do they have besides cigarette others a gun that they can be stolen they're gonna know that there's a part on on on person walking in and had absolutely that is a perfect circle to my next gun bill that I'm gonna have it it's it's concentrating more on the stones using those got the felling that are stealing these gun your time after time people blaming the the object that as a fire or no the people it should be you know get the finger pointed at or the criminals that should not have guns in the first place I continues in our street Saint Louis and that's why people are stopping you know a lot of people I know think Charles county don't want to go to a cardinals game or blues game because year after year where the top and city Saint Louis for the the deadliest city the most dangerous city yeah but that that we have that particular day you know in and of itself we just explained as we do I bring my god I can't bring it into the stadium I can't bring in any of the the sales with I'm going to you know be walking around going in off the street so I believe in my car and we see time and time again many people reporting stolen guns in the city of Saint Louis so what I have in I've increased the armed criminal action I'm totally redoing that bill I know that Tony Lucca Meyer I believe senator Bob under both of them are going to take a stab at this one as well what we would do is make the a mandatory minimums for felons that know that they should not have guns that are using them in crimes make it increase mandatory minimum on them but also that they must serve at least eighty five percent mom that that sentence so what we're attacking that we have a as you all know D. I believe that you are right in the the hell hole of Jim gardeners swinging out there as well but now I don't even know if you can call or prosecutor because what she's doing is failing to uphold the law and process these criminals and we we I mean we could show you a list of different criminal that she has failed to to well yeah yeah I just keep seeing these people on bikes are not pass make if you're on the side what we're trying to do is force her hand that we keep passing the law she failed to a to charge them appropriately so what we're trying to do is increase so the these criminal the bad criminal the for the dangerous criminals to be put away for a very long time yeah Alex like that one yeah we definitely don't mind adding armed criminal action to the dangerous felons list like you said in like is alluded to in the post dispatch article with parson prosecutors need to do their job what good is your what good are all the gun control laws in the world if no one's going to you know hold people accountable when they break the law yet Nick I want to get your thoughts on on that will have a few minutes left we talked about this earlier in the show the whole of controversy the came out when the post scratch out an arctic eight easy there somebody careful your contract at a company yeah I've been there I know how to go I've been a man and I know what it's like there is you can get the little you gotta keep active don't always way don't don't don't walk slowly and and don't and blunt anybody's progress I love my keep America great at at all so we we talked about it a little bit earlier he you know there was some controversy surrounding the of it are about you know it it was reported that maybe he was supporting some gun limitation bills at some liberal mares were pushing you'll eat we work with the governor more than anybody in this room does do you feel like this governor it has been.

"And so many of us were raised on the narrative that God is just watching and waiting for us to mess up. He he he's making a list, and he's checking it twice gonna find out who's been naughty. And nice. Sorry. That's the wrong person. The God of heaven sent Jesus to take the list of all our failures and to nail them to the cross. So that they would never haunt us. Again. You see God has seen it. All. You're not gonna shock. God. You're not going to surprise God. There's no skeleton in your closet that's going to cause him to turn away. There's no story that cannot be right by his story. The story of Bethlehem. We need to remember that in memorize that. It's a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance Christ Jesus came to the world to save sinners to which we all are. You see nobody is to anything for God. Nobody is to black. Nobody's to white. Nobody's to Republican. Nobody's to democrat. Nobody's to rich. Nobody's poor. Nobody's to uneducated nobody's to dictated. Nobody's to divorce. Nobody's doing prison. Nobody is to anything for God. There was a great baseball baseball. Scout name Tony Lucca? Delo. He was considered the greatest scalp of all times, Tony sent more young men to the big league than any other scout. But he was unusual in that he did not have a radar gun and he did not use a stop watch. Tony said most scouts our performance scouts. They just see what the boys are doing. He said I am a projector scout. I see the hitch in the swing. I see that quirk in the motion. But I can see what he will be. If he gets the right coach. You see Christmas teaches us to look at people not from their worst moment or what they did. But who they can become when they meet Jesus. So I got a question for all of us here at summit church and those who are watching on live stream and those who are listening by the radio. Who's your who's? Who is your who's? Who's that person? Who's story embarrasses you who's that person who's far far far from God? Because today, maybe what we need to hear. And that is that. Nobody's worst moment has to be their final story. Any name can be linked to Jesus name even hours because remember the mess. I can do a lot with a mess. Now, I don't know where you are today in your relationship with Jesus Christ. But you heard me say before before you leave here if you've never accepted Christ in your life. I wanna tell you how the first is you have to realize that you're a sinner, and which means simply I'm never going to be good enough to go to heaven by my own works. The second word is repent. It comes from two Greek words met annoy, which means to change your direction you've been living your life doing your own thing. And you're gonna turn a hundred and eighty degrees. And you're gonna follow Christ in full devotion. The third word is to receive what Christ did on the cross for you. He died as a substitution airy sacrifice as I told you he was nailed on the cross. So that you had quit nailing yourself there. He he hung on the cross for all your hangups. He wants to free. You to set you free your the who's of the Christmas story that he cares about. And maybe it's you that need to pray that prayer this morning, and we give you an opportunity if you'd like to come up. And you would like somebody to pray with you come to these two altars here. And if you'd like to come and pray by yourself, we open these up to you. But this is a time. This is a time that I like to call to reflect on what Christ has said to you in this message, and for you to respond not to John Henry, but you respond to the spirit of God speaking to your heart today, Tim is going to come and lead us in a song. This is a a song of response. I'm going to ask you to stand. I'm gonna pray then we're going to sing this song. God we thank you for.
