"Back in the first five minutes. Yeah it was frozen. And did they ever i when i got back. It was back on. Did they ever explain what happened to not that. I not that i saw. But he never said anything. Those are the establishing moments. But i mean obviously before you get to. The end ended the one o'clock games where were trying to see how everything's gonna end. But i mean my feeling is. I'm paying for that. The cable company. Are they going to charge me. Probably yes we get charged twice. I don't think that's fair to charge me. When when the thing that i pay for eight sixty one out from one. Oh six to one eleven. i wanna rebate. Yeah well just like hbo again. The two greatest inventions. I guess in western civilization the red zone channel and the easy pass. You can't live without him now. Yeah i mean. "Gain respect for baltimore baltimore rain. It didn't have any running backs. You name baltimore ran it. The mark jackson bad at the beginning to picks early great at the end. They won that game. They wanted to be fair. What happened in kansas city. Last night is what happened in new england last week. They're going in for the winning score and a running back. Fumbles the ball. And that's the end of the game. But kansas city lost that game new respect for

"It looks like arians is undercutting them publicly time. After time after time by the end of the year they don't lose any games and brady's still great at forty. Three brady is now forty four. Are we supposed to look at him. And just say all the rules. Don't count for this one guy because of his immediate history. He can still win games. He can still win super bowls to is he just different than the others. Yeah i think you have to look at it that way and that's not an assumption that's just paying attention to the history in which he's already given us. You know tony oftentimes in life man. What happens is we get used to. The norm and the norm says father always wins. Most of the time he wins sooner than later. The norm says that you have to be young to play this game. The norm says that you can't quite a high level for you know only a certain period of time and when that doesn't happen we call those outliers or nominally in. But i think it is is that we have to condition our brain and our mind that because the game of football has changed meaning. You can't hit guys anymore. Offenses played differently. The quarterback doesn't get touched. A quarterback is protected so much so theoretically and i'm not trying to minimize it to this level. But i really am. Tom brady could play quarterback in the national football league shorts and a shirt so if he can do that then what it comes down to is. Can you take care of your body and make sure that that your joints and your muscles are able to handle just the volume of standing and running and workload. And he's done that. tb twelve. He doesn't get hit. Tony so he honestly he could go out there and play football helmet in shorts and a t shirt. It would look weird but essentially what he's doing now so what's that is established. Then when it comes down to is has a skill level eroded well the answer to that is no. Because he takes he takes care of his body so the next question becomes from a processing standpoint. Has that level eroded. I would even make make the statement that it's not eroded has gotten better. That's better you in everybody who's been around a long time. We should get better with age mentally physically. We may slow down in our hair may go away or hair may turn mental process and understand and draw back on past experiences should get greater so we should become faster than what we do. We should become smarter so if you put together. He's kinda done physically. Still good mythili still sharp. And he's a of process an all time high. So is an anomaly. Sure it's an anomaly. But it's to me based on where the game is today. It should be expected. And i'd be alarmed if you don't see more guys doing this a lot number. I'd be along if you don't see aaron rodgers play until he's forty forty one. We saw drew brees play until he was forty. Forty one like you're going to start to see guys. Play a lot longer at this level especially the quarterbacks that don't run a lot the guy stood back there and throw the football and kind of processing formation now i realise those guys are foreign feud between because the college game is not giving us those. But the ones that are there. They're going gonna play a long. It's a pleasure to have thank you so much. I hope you'll join us again. Thanks booger tony anytime and would love to be on any show that you're doing. I really admire work and everything that you could have done over the years and it really really appreciate your buddy. And it doesn't matter what level you're at you try to break eighty for the first time now for the first time hundred for the first time you're trying to win it a play on the pga tour doesn't matter when it is the when that moment arrives or the pressure is at its highest. That to me is the essence of sports. No matter what the level is if it's just us plan colombia messing around for lunch. Or if it's a pga tour playoff cam. Smith could play only five and and playoffs in his career. Going into that playoff on monday. Tony fee now. A tremendous talent that was a horrific all shot. Whoever riffing golf shot. And you can't rinse that golf shot and not at that level but he did and you can only say that it was because of the pressure of the moment and then there's tony now. Who is the nicest guy you've ever met in your life. Tony and he probably doesn't win is off. Because he doesn't have that. That extra gear. To get away from his niceness and buckled down. Just try to be an assassin out there to try to finish a tournament. So here's toady the beneficiary of great play on his own and also the the unfortunate shot from camp smith. They're putting it in the water. But you know tony fetal head to win that tony. That was a massive win for him. Everybody knows that's how did he is. Everybody loves him because he's such a wonderful guy. Was you gotta win in professional sports. You have to cross the finish line that just get there but cross it. And he did want in puerto rico but this win in a fedex. Cup playoff event in a playoff against a world class player like camps best. Tony needed that victory. And it'll be interesting to see how he plays this week Coming off of that win because that was a huge weight lifted off his shoulders to get that second week. The street of vanessa could make it in the snow But i was always banned from the cheese counter. It would be so great if we could advertise for one day. Only steve sends cutting cheese cheese array. "The people will cover the olympics for us in america. They don't even give a damn they don't care people about pre season football and the summer league. Are you people nuts. So there's abbas real quickly. When i say people are dumber than ever. This is one of the. This is like exhibit if that. Abc your d. This is the problem. I love boxing. The problem with boxing is it is a judge sport if there's no knockout which is why will i root for a knockout stages go. This is this is the this is what we understand. There is in track and field. There is no ambivalence like even the hammer throw weight. Did you go further than the other guy. Then then you wouldn't then you win higher. Did you go something further more depth. That's my god that when she was like you look at the middle of the track and she looks like she looks. You can't mistake her on a half inch. Tv and she you know she got beat and then but she was worse because she you can tell the life was just not in her because when she was he's been last or she's been in the middle of a pack and a tough crowd before their life like a million times but man she was lifeless and she just she just eased up and she was last it was it was amazing to watch it it. It is tony the fact that you know you gotta sit here and watch the pre season in the summer league and people act like that will versus russell game seven the world is stupid it just is fullest stupid people. I'll just repeat this one more time for all the people out there that think that should carry. Richardson got host. She stood up and she said. I know what i was doing. Did this i accept this. I'll be back. She's better all the people defending her. You know just. She's just much better to say. Well you know. They didn't have the to high safeties didn't have you don't have to know that this woman is one of the fastest with the world and again toy is so great that cover because of the things they say and do the track and field people there so so often. More more green with the fire extinguisher on his own. Watch watching the prefontaine. So the canadian guy degrasse. Yeah again. let me explain this so you understand it. There's an actual tape and if it's around your chest when you go through your the winner one to your left. Wow i got screwed. I think i won. You did right. Go watch right told us in lifetime. Just say you know it it. Just i love that stuff. I love the events into so much and often the people so much and the the the the the fact that there's no teammates. There's no meat ball their boxers without gloves. That's what they are there. Boxes without gloves individual athletes. And they're going out there to beat everybody else and they hate. Everybody else is what they're supposed to do what you're supposed to. So how does this have no stature anymore. it's only in europe. it doesn't exist here. i don't i don't really get it. Really get it so all right. I'll talk to you later. Thanks michael wilbon boys and girls. We will see him later on the pti show and mark fine. San will join us of mlb dot com when we return. "For this kid so hard and so you know and this is the way it is. If you are a fan you call you. Admit to being in love with this franchise and his team. This is what you do. I mean my son's thirteen and he called yesterday and we have to go over. justin field. What do you think we're going to watch the film. Shut off back something you almost hope is is what we have. I mean. i'm not a bears fan. I'm not a hater either. But i would just say we'll just knowing what you've gone through with this team. You almost hope he comes back to earth this prec- like let them have a bad game or to better. He does the greater the expectations. The more pressure the worst it becomes when he goes out there and has an eight for twenty one with two picks game if that ever happens which is going to happen. Because that's what even great quarterback right but it needs to happen in the preseason. Okay so the kid from north dakota state or wherever he's from i mean he had one of those he went five for twenty one or something like that. He had eighty our personnel fans right. Yeah one of the games where you can just sorta slow your roll and you can let the starter start. You can let dalton start and just leave it alone. I will tell you the one year. The one thing that i saw it feels looks. Good feels does look good. Yeah well i'll give you one other guy. And i don't i think i think it's a mistake. I would start cam. Newton but that kids much better than cam newton with that team right now matt jones right now and you know mike you know what happened. You know the bill. Belichick would never have drafted kid. If nick sabin didn't say to him bill he can run your offense all the now but you don't have to run week one. I don't know i don't think you see. I don't think be tempted to do. He wants only bellichik job. Matt nagy job is still on the line. And so i know and and by the way i thought it was admirable that nagy said look i want him to be a spectacular as everyone of you so basically negatives come out and done something coach never does. He's admitted yes. Our jobs are on the line. This kid needs to be great at some point but then they put the brakes on and said you know listen. Listen let's slow down twenty. No one is hearing him. No one is not here so the day today. You know in love that he may as well be john elway. You know one thousand nine hundred ninety seven for all anybody could they just don't want to see andy dalton. They don't wants to see him. So i am like killing myself. Stop it really stop. We'll talk about it later. I'm sure talk to you later. Michael wilpon boys and girls will take a break. "I'm in support that so it's not quite the same for me. I think as much as i love baseball. I mean bull. Durham great movie. The natural is a great great movie. The movie about the women's baseball team league of their own. It's a great movie trick. Great movie yes this not a great movie but this is enduring because of the name of the movie in the setting of the movie and the fantasy quality of it you know and again when they come out of the coin. It's a fairy tale. It's a myth. It's got all the elements of classic fairytale. Yeah so the only thing quit when you say it was perfect the ending last night you right but if i could just put it over the top red sox at one no no no no the game would have ended with somebody making a slide at home plate just like trae. Turner did the other night. Okay yes. I don't know why that's a mesmerizing slide. But it just seems to be perfect so it was it was that was good and it leads me of course to talk about the nats and i'll make this brief. They stink as i said a week and a half ago and i stand by a week and a half later. They will not win ten games for the rest of the year. They're a minor league team with minor league. Pitching and minor league hitting. That's what they are. They managed to lose the last inning. All they're like the washington generals playing the globe's they lose in the last minute. All the time finnegan who you had some hope for comes in broome see around peter lonzo homerun second game and i was amazing thing about that as i was watching that live. 'cause i knew it was on. It started fairly early. I had forgotten was seven inning game. Oh that's right. Just you know i didn't. It didn't occur to me. When alonzo hits it out. I think myself okay. We'll go get him. No you don't go get him. It's over seven innings. That's it it's the bottom of the seventh dreadful team absolutely dreadful so We will have pat forty on when we return. I know that some of you are forty two out. I suspect oh not me. But i think we wanna hear him talk about his daughter. We want to hear him review all of this we. Said thanks to you on the team for playing some of my songs awhile back to thrill that also ended up netting me literally. Tens of dollars in new music sales the apple music and top online retailers. So now i'm back for more cash with more tunes including one center city about the philadelphia my youth i think some members of the current seventy squad might appreciate him. My regular life as a tv producer avenue series that iran for netflix how to become a tyrant that helped people will check out in which the narrator peter dink wjr lays out the steps for achieving and maintaining absolute despotic. Power as the rock saying in. Mona what can i say. Except you're welcome. Believe that's moana moana. I don't know what moana is. So for jake law firm and people who want to send in original music and make tens of dollars. How do they do it. Well thank you. Keep pumping that irony. But yes you can. Send us your music by emailing jingles at tony. Kornheiser show dot com. It is my great and by the way you can listen to the songs in their entirety. Dan bern jake offer Without having me talk to them. It's my great pleasure to bring sally jenkins onto the show. I've said this while. Sally hasn't been listening but i will say it. While sal is listening there is a device that sally uses every once in a while and when she uses this device which he did not use them. Mccollum destroyed thomas bach. But when she is. I always sit down and get ready and this is when sally says what do i know. I'm just a stupid girl but she proceeds to kill somebody. This always gives me tremendous pleasure. And i always felt she. I wish i could do that. But it wouldn't look good if i said what do i know. I'm just a stupid girl. Bud and sally can do it. And he destroys people and she has destroyed the ncaa that way and destroyed a lot of people she did not use this to destroy thomas bach. She just went right. Adam the head of the international olympic committee. So let us go to this. You crushed him and the olympics. Just explain why you did it. But then i think the larger question is how are you on the olympics being held or or do you don't even think they should be held this time so i could be wrong but i'm not That that this is going to be a Something of a super spreader event The doctors that i that i talked to for the piece that you're Complementing so wildly They basically said there. It's pretty likely there's going to be an outbreak in the athletes village. That's that's coming you know in the next week to ten days Just because they know numbers and they know how this this thing tends to behave so they're pretty concerned You know they might. They might get away with it they. They might get outta tokyo without there being a big outbreak while they're there But you know the numbers of this thing have been pretty Pretty strong and obvious all along you know for for we've got a year now of track record of watching the the virus and then the the variant behave so sorry to ruin everybody's morning but i don't. I'm not sure it's a real good deal. There are doctors will say. I know one who will say this population. The highly trained athletic population between the ages of eighteen and thirty basically are going to be almost exclusively a symptomatic and they're nothing is going to happen to them. Nothing bad will happen to them. But of course there are other people around them because athletes come into contact with more people than the average person does on a daily basis. But you know athletes. Well sally if you ask them. Do you wanna play no matter what they'd say. Yeah we want to say that. Yeah we wanna play no matter what yeah sure and you know every survey. I mean they've done kind of research over the years with olympic athletes. They feel pretty immortal. They're very young very powerful. They're very beautiful. And and if you ask them if if you could take something that you know would your health but still win a gold medal would you and they say. Yeah so i mean again. There's a track record there too. And that's just who people of that age are and by the way the room parties. I mean have to be amazing Since they're not really supposed to be running around tokyo sort you know. Look i. I hope it goes well like everyone else and i. I hope i'm wrong but You know it's not really about. I mean the thing like that's actually in some ways worse because it's never about you and how sick you might get if if you're a young person it's about who you might infect when you get home right and so a lot of these athletes will be going back into populations where there's low vaccination rates like for instance. Australia is only at about eleven percent right now or they might be going back home to countries that don't have the medical infrastructure to deal with a big outbreak. And look you know. I'm you know i've been a new yorker for a long long time and you know we saw one guy get off an airplane and go home to westchester and strong. It wasn't long before the whole city was in a state of emergency..

You know him at all. What do you think of the higher. Yes he was that. I did know him at that time. Obviously we're going different directions over the years. But i looked he. His father was a great great man. I really loved the man genuinely Westbound self was a mountain of a man teddy bear he being and i was blessed enough to be around west. A lot and and in west was around too early at that time to know where his life would lead and coaching. I just think it's phenomenal the tie in to the organization. I think there are times with certain organizations bringing a guy in like this. Who i think it's going to mead bore to that a lot of guys that could've taken this job i think. That's maybe what this organization needs right now. I wish nothing. But the best loved his father and he man he must be so proud of what he has accomplished and to think that he is homing this organization at west led to a championship. and it really became a surrogate son of poland Over years and now to see his son being the guy to roam the sidelines for this organization but how proud he must be looking down on the side. It's not it's not official prom course record. Because she didn't do it from the tips and everybody understands that it's a different set of teas that she plays. She essentially played the teas that i play. I get to sixty two on number. Eleven or twelve and dan. I continue playing sixty two. Doug is a remarkable remarkable score. This is general george washington. And you're listening to attorney kornheiser so happy to think that people enjoyed listening to doug her caddy for rochon which is something. Yeah they're reading chapter books now pages so this is good and then i got something yesterday that i don't even understand at all It's from something called. Simply words in lincoln nebraska. It came in this envelope. That i'm holding up for michael nigel to say and it was a shirt. Oh there was a white t shirt with the word love in red on the front. It was a woman. Size was not for a man. It was a woman size. And i don't know why they sent it and i don't know it's address to you got. Yeah it's addressed to me. i don't i i don't understand any of it honestly If they want some publicity. Okay maybe this is. This is what they want. But i don't know what why they sent it to me. Random to seattle. I don't really understand. I i guess what they do. I guess they have words and they put him on t shirts. I'm guessing the word. It's a gift personalized website that they probably have. You know. drink wear programs. That i don't know you can look it up. I don't have any idea. can you get that That t shirt a sweat shirt that that one woman had with the don't want that don't want that but it of course when whenever words comes in it's always it's only words and words are all i have to take your heart away. It's a bg song. Let something else. While we were away nigel. So graciously took care of our plants and our vegetables. And i have a problem. And and michael i i think the solution has to be netting. That's why netting all over when people have gardens now they have netting squirrels or other varmints. Leave the peppers alone. They don't seem to care about the peppers. That's the heat. I don't know i don't have any idea..

"Previously on the tony kornheiser show the next morning peterson. the airport. You know everybody bleary eyed blah. He's looking at the london times. All these papers news thinking off sandy. Lyle you know. Uk guy wins the open that kind of thing front page of every paper peter's face wrong stop against some other literally. Yeah the tony kornheiser show is on. Now that's the voice of steve sands. He will be on to talk about colin more. Cala michael wilbon will be on later. Talk about colin more cala and the Nba playoff so. We're going to open the show. You've heard me talk all last week. And the week before about the columbia girls the columbia country club hosting the junior girls event. And and i went out there. I'll talk about me going out there at some point. But i'm watching on television and i am watching the best player in the tournament. The reigning united states women's amateur. Champion rose zhang. And i see somebody on the bag. And i go. What's this. i think i called. Mike says that doug is doug hurson on. Is that your fourball partners at doug hurson on the bag so doug who has been the champion club champion at columbia and who grew up. Basically there with with michael joins us. Now you're caddying you know in my mind. I don't think this is true. Maybe for juniors but you know golfers of a big time. Quality have their own caddies. Who travel with them now. You can't do that. I guess in the amador's will maybe you can. Maybe you can pay your catty and you can have the caddy with you. But how did you of all people to get to caddy for. How did you get the favourite and the ultimate winner. Roy zhong to put you on the bag. Yeah it was a who was a really lucky kind of circumstance there So as you said you can't caddy you can't have a parent caddy for you. In junior event so normally rose has her dad catty for so for instance she's going. She flew to france yesterday. Play in the evian masters in her dad will be on the bag for but junior events. You can't do that so i think. In the first couple of days Saturday and sunday. She had planned to pushcart per bag. But in ninety five hundred weather and super superheavy course. She quickly realized that she didn't want to do that. and peter farrell another member that you obviously know who is the chairman if you will for the the caddy program that was That they kinda had installed to make sure that we had enough volunteer caddies and club caddies caddy for the girls. Should they need them on saturday. They had about sixty five confirmed by the end of the day. They had the need for like eighty five more I was the practice. Cherish facility going practice practice facilities chair going into the tournament. So i taken the week off and and peter came up to me early in the week. early saturday and said hey you know i might need a under the caddy. Are you available for the week. And you and i said yeah sure. I'd love to for anybody so sunday. Afternoon walls around you know he texts me okay and he question like where are you. I was having lunch. Runs up to In the the ballroom or they were serving lunch for volunteers players. He says hey. Can you caddy. I've got a good player. Who roseanne is you know. I almost choked on my food You know hurt. She was like the number one player in the world. You know asking for a caddy and me possibly getting the opportunity to i was like of course of course i would caddy for her. No no questions asked can't wait okay. When was when was the last time you caddied for anyone. So that's another question. I had probably not caddied for anyone since you know my brief stint on the mini tours and in college But a normal thing that we would do when we would. We would go to tournaments. We would to drive down or something and if one of us made cut you know and one of us didn't wanna caddy for the other one vice versa So honestly probably that's like twenty twelve twenty thirteen where i truly caddy for anybody. So it's been quite a while. So i mean i i need to sort of set this up because it's important when you ask for a local caddy and columbia has tens of caddies dozens of caddies. You do that because you you anticipate that they will know the course and tell you how to play a given whole is tremendously high stakes here. This is the junior girls championship. The story you just show up. Keep up right right. You got a really good at this. You're you're like a catch. You're talking to a pitcher. It's important that there's trust. I heard a story that she had no idea. Not only that you golf at all but that you were the club champion multiple times. I heard she didn't know that is that true. Did you not tell her that. So i i went in saying absolutely nothing I didn't want to presume or or you know kind of you know. Put myself out. There is like hey you know. I know how to play golf so let me help you. She's a number one player in the world. Not just girls. She's like a number one amador in the world of all women that are not professional. So i'm not going to go out there and be like hey. I've won this club championship a couple of times and i've got some good scores out here but You know it i. I went in there. And knowing i was gonna essentially slow play my caddie experience until she feels like she needs either advice or or shows me that you know maybe she is willing to take some advice So we kinda started off with. Just you know yardages wind slope elevation etc. Whatever you wanna call it And then that's kind of progressed to you know helping maybe club You know maybe maybe she hit that..

I'm not allowing you to pick leash mun. You cannot gleasman or coke wreck co cracker release. man. I don't wanna hear it. I don't wanna hear you want it somewhat. Divorce off the board then. I'm going to give you a flyer. I'm not taking control. Correct thank you. Who do you got. I think two guys from way off the pack way out of bounds Have a chance to it to make some noise. This with mackenzie hughes is a canadian. Did not handle sunday torrey pines well when he was in that big spot however he's played well since then it didn't like crashes year that he didn't succeed on sunday tori. He's a canadian. Who hits the ball really crisply and mackenzie hughes as a chance to play well. This week i also think there's a guy way off aboard from germany. The schmidt played collegiately here in the states. He wanted earlier this year on the european tour. Yeah he's way off the board like you know five thousand to one or something like that you know if you want to someone in the hundreds that kind of thing but a little higher than a hundred fisher world. Golf ranking take a look at francesco molinari. Played a little bit better. Michael knows this. He hits the ball wonderfully and you know. He was the reigning open champion when he went to the masters in twenty nineteen and rinsed his ball at twelve allowing tiger to go on to win on that sunday. And it kinda wrecked molinari. Well he's played a little bit better of late and this golf course in particular suits him very well and with italy winning the euro cup. Even though i disagree with you. Tony penalty kick suck. You cannot have a fine like that. You cannot have a big final like that decided by penalty. Kicks play it out if it ends like pat lafontaine and four. Am middle of the night and go ahead play it out. But anyway with italy winning the euro final. And i'm not a soccer guy at all. Couldn't tell you one thing about the sports italy. Italy could win another open championship. Just minority could be the darker so take those three. If you're going to be playing anybody off the board that's wonderful enjoy it from royal stanford just in just enjoyed with the bangor's mass that i'm sure they're going to serve at world stanford. "Players to sixty four players but when you get to sixty four players then it's the ncaa basketball tournament then. It doesn't matter what your total number is. that doesn't matter at all. You have to win more holes than the other person. You're playing that chain. You explain this. Michael that changes the level of competition. The you have to be four different kind of best play doesn't give you four full-quarter's to try and get back. So there's there's no real way to get back and what's interesting for her. She's probably only played this coursing info times. Obviously at the two the two rounds through the strokeplay. But now you're trying to figure out okay. Where am i going to try and be a little bit more aggressive. A little bit more sort of particularly if i'm coming in as the one of the higher seed. Yeah because we have. I i would say hard. It's an it's an unassuming hard opening stretch. And then you can sort of ride that if you get out to that early lead and some of the holes you might not get to some of those score. Bill would say round changing holes. That are so important for say the two of us. If we're playing a club match with jimmy crowley sixteen seventeen eighteen. You might not get those you always. Can we get to the other side of the tracks and if you can get out to that it'll lead. You could close it out before so it's just a different deal. If she plays a girl who you know in the first five holes throws in three bombs. You don't know what that psychologically does too hard. It's it changes. everything might be. You know you might be standing on the eighteenth t. One yeah. I mean it's just it's just a weird thing it's not every stroke doesn't count you can pick up. I mean you can. You can just pick off some point. And it's it's really a different way of playing michael which is harder you've played both which is harder i in terms of match players strokeplay. Yeah i think if for many of these players in this tournament stroke plays what they do every single week. They're playing those competitions. They know exactly how to control their game. And so it's it's for some of them out of their out of their thinking to be more aggressive and more assertive if they're trying to get into a match minds mindset. I always enjoyed naturally because it gave you gave you a little bit of that bumper. If you had that whole the ad to move on from and you can try and shrink around into say a mini three hole round can i. Can i pick one hole up here before we get to the turn but it comes down to mindset. Can describe how you played yesterday. Because i thought you played very well. Sure michael played very well. We started. I am not going to go into specific details inside. Shot by shot but we started on the back. Nine and michael was three under at the end of the back. Nine and then had a hiccup or to the hiccups on rents who throws the ball year. Instable on came back with a birdie after that right deal you had five birdies and around very good a great way to celebrate my dad's birthday the day before i started to. I started to try out. The ron darling play. I'm not sure if you notice. I did not off with a few arms if you aren't so that right so that we could be in approximately the same place. If i hit the drive well which i did once or twice now. The the highlight was. I think it was on our ninth. Which was the eighteenth. And alan goes into great deal great detail describing a recent match. He had with gary as his partner. Gary opponents tried to coach up the old ball coach. Gary wasn't listening to most of it. He was yeah. The gary answer was wonderful. All right we will take a break when we come back later in the show. We'll do steve sands with golf. Maybe the second line of players devon booker is a really talented wonderful player. There's no question about that. You make those determinations when you get to something like a final you see how people do. I mean not that. That's where you reputation. I'm sorry that's why your reputation is when i agree with you. One hundred booker has it's actually what is for and it says is it the only got. Maybe it'd be legendary. That's because kobe bryant in his last year of playing his last game in phoenix pulled booker. Asides that you've got everything but you need to work at this in a way. That's fanatical that you can't even imagine now 'cause you you can be legendary and you should date. Is kobe bryant talking to him and booker tattooed on his arm. And that's when he talks about and somebody's asking me the other night Before the last game in la you know. What is this about for booker. Let's forget about paul for a second. What's this is when you build your legend. You don't bill your legend in the first round. You build your legend now and so you you you build enough to get there to have this this this moment and so booker what. I find just absolutely charismatic. Person and people don't know his story as much yet because they find your story out late like this and it's father's legendary guy. He coaches him. You know what. He's not. When Is a No-Hitter Not a No-Hitter?
"Mark. Fine san of mlb dot com joins us. Now we are baseball loaded. If you listen to wilpon you know how much he enjoyed the san diego. La dodger series. And i will certainly talk about that. But i think above all else is the madison bumgarner circumstance. Madison bumgarner threw a seven inning. No hitter yesterday. And the reason he didn't throw a nine in no hitter is because it was a seven inning doubleheader as per the new baseball rules. My question is if baseball makes a rule that doubleheaders will be seven innings in certain circumstances. And you can't go nine. Is that a no hitter. Because that's the official game. Is that a no hitter. Well the elias. Sports bureau says no. They're the ones who make these decisions. for major league baseball you know if a guy throws a no hitter in the game gift suspended or cancelled for rain and the game is an official game at five innings That a no hitter. That's also been ruled as a no so You know. I unfortunately for baumgartner that he won't go in the history books as having a no hitter Would have been the first of his career But you know who cares right. I mean these are these are these are little things that You know madison. Bumgarner is not gonna need this no hitter to cement his reputation. I'm pretty sure what he did. In the world series is going to be what we remember him for whether he throws four no hitters from here to the end of his career.

Lakers' Anthony Davis to Undergo MRI After Re-Aggravating Achilles Injury
"Saw anthony davis limping off court last night which with what is said to be an achilles injury that how serious is this and are you familiar with this familiar. I was watching it live. I watched last night. I figure and everybody davis had missed a couple of games sitting out because that achilles was sore. Oh okay a couple of games already. That happened this. You know this last five six days and when he walked off limped off. I just said oh my god i do not want this to be. Nobody wants to be a season ending injury But he was he he could put. It seemed no weight at all on that on that ankle foot and He's supposed to have an mri today and either. This is going to be. Hopefully nothing is out a little bit of time. Or if he's out. I mean if if it is bad as it looked totally It it that would be terrible news for the nba. Well then let me get to let me get to the other side of that. Which is if this are you telling me. This is a chronic condition that they are monitoring all the time so that means it. Could you know we go out. It's likely to go out. It's likely to be almost as bad on a day to day as it is. If you find out it's a tare. Right i mean he. He's he's not at full strength for any great length of time on my right eye. Who knows i mean yeah Maybe two weeks. Maybe two weeks arrest or three weeks. That's still a prognosis. That the lakers can can withstand But i remember before. I mean durant had something going on with that part of his body before he suffered an injury out for year and everybody said all is not related is related strain that they put on their bodies. It is all related like race sources. Now then they jump and they run in there so fast and their legs. Aren't you know what i'm saying. Their legs aren't strong enough to withstand all of the pressure. That i think that's true. You know i look at guy. Fear for the most zion williamson. I fear for him the most understandably so And and obviously anthony. Davis is a slimmer version. I mean he's a ton of weight right. They're certainly not overweight. Ever nope just you know. I just don't want bello. You know that would really impact the it would. They can't win. They can win if he if he doesn't play

Rockets’ Russell Westbrook Traded to Wizards for John Wall
"Brian windhorst who. I saw yesterday on tv when early in the morning. I saw brian. When i found out that my found out the night before i guess late the night before that westbrook had moved from houston for wall in washington and is everybody knows because they've heard me say two thousand times. I love this trade for washington. But i thought brian would have a better perspective on it because he hasn't been burdened by having to watch the washington wizards for x. amount of years. John wall go nowhere absolutely nowhere. So let me let me start with the most obvious thing and take my prejudices out of this. Why do you make this trade. If you're houston well. I think this is really about the other stars involved. I mean it's hard to say that when you're talking about you know all star. I mean all star point guards. It'd be nine. yeah well. Isn't it all star today. And they and then they forty million dollars. They could traded for each other. I mean this is the definition of a blockbuster. But i'm sitting here saying this is about bradley. Beal james harden and it's different for both of them This is i think houston trying to salvage the situation. Which is they know that. They absolutely positively no westbrook. It are not going work out together. and so they're trying to find a way to keep their fingers in the dam so to speak. I do not think it's going to work I think the fact that they got the first round pick And i think they also hedging. And i don't think this is a strong bat. I wanna be clear. But they're also hedging that if wall recovers from this achilles That it might be better to have him for the next three years and russell westbrook. But i mean you know you're not staking your application on that I think hard and we'll be out of there by the trade deadline. Which looks like it's going to be in late march Maybe well before. But that's what they're trying to do and washington. I you know this is about holding bradley. Beal i mean i don't think it's a revolutionary idea that they have transitioned from john wallace their franchise player to bradley beal. This is clear and while Trust me there are plenty of people out there who have checked in with the wizard checked in with bradley beal however they do that. Are you happy in washington. The answer is still. Yes but the wizards are very aware that that may not be yes indefinitely and so this trade they trade free guy who was on the nba team. Last year. He was thirteen nba And he will in theory. Give them some more ammunition this year to compete with charlotte in atlanta who have upgraded. Their rosters and the wizards need to make the playoffs. This year or i think bradley beal could be out of there. And that's a move in this direction. Is it a slam dunk. Tony no but i think will be a upgrade from what they can expect from john wall.

Bloomberg’s big bet: Can money beat Biden's momentum?
"Buddha JIB has dropped out Biden had a big win in South Carolina a three or four days before the big win by Biden and South Carolina and people were saying he was gonNA lose to Bernie Bernie's momentum was such coming out of Nevada that he was going to win a Tuesday tomorrow. Super Tuesday can change. Everything can be over honestly Bhai Wednesday morning at nine in the morning can be over But your thoughts about Biden now budgets dropping out. And what are we looking at our? Don't we know we don't know I mean what we know is a third of all of the delegates will be apportioned tomorrow night so thirteen hundred delegates out of the thirty nine hundred. You Need Nineteen Hundred. Save the thousand or eleven. It's very hard to do that. Because unlike Republicans who have this so indicative of how the two Parties Think. Republicans have a lot of winner-take-all states. You win the state yet. All the delegates Democrats have actually in the Electoral College. Democrats have if you get fifteen percent either statewide or any congressional district in the State. You get delegates from a practical perspective. What that means is it's just harder to get a lot a big lead sanders will have the lead. After tomorrow. I would look at California. It's hugely important because it has the most delegates but also because there's a possibility no one else gets fifteen percent statewide other than sanders including Biden. And if that happens sanders will have a very large dow in the hundreds delegate lead Before Gary left on his trip he asked me who to keep an eye on. I said footage so that tells you about where I'm at right now. I wasn't wrong to keep an eye on footage because he did drop out so smart did he. And I know but I think he will endorse Biden at some point Because they are all afraid of sanders the dynamic of the races this sanders almost certainly must be stopped will end this process. June through the end of the process with the most delegates now is it. The most by three hundred is the most by fifty. I don't know. Does he have nine hundred ninety one? In which case all this is moot. Because he'll be the nominee oh So the issue is. How do you limit his number of delegates and the theory? Is You unite behind one person. I think that is at this point somewhat remarkably given that he finished fourth fifth and second winning. Yeah it looks currently like Joe Biden because the only other alternative really is Michael Bloomberg and I just don't think that Democrats are going to rally around a guy who was a Republican. You know ran for office as a Republican. I just no matter how much money you have so I think the if you are not wanting to San for sanders to win you need Bloomberg to get out in the next couple of days. Ammos spending all that money. Sure but it's nothing I mean. Yes he spent six hundred million. He'll probably spend a billion dollars. But it's it's immaterial him. I know that that's insane to say but it is true. You need him to get out in the next couple of days. You need to get out in the next couple of days and you need Warren to stay in as long as possible to Siphon. Is Kobe charge? She's running for vice president. Now what is she doing exactly? What Ewing Use Code People? I think she is staying in through tomorrow because she thinks she can win. Minnesota her home state and then maybe if she wins Minnesota then she gets out sort of Warren's GonNa lose her home state I think very tomorrow in Massachusetts to Sanders I don't know exactly what she's doing to be candid. Okay but if she thinks it's going to be a a brokered convention and all bets are off. Yeah well that's still the Warriors Theory in Warren Theory is it's going to be brokered convention. Meaning no one. We'll have nine hundred ninety one nine elegant one thousand nine hundred one delegates and that means no one went on the first ballot the last time we've gone to multiple ballots in a Democratic presidential primaries. Do you know just as a trivia question do knock nine hundred fifty two Ashley Stevenson on the third ballot That if it's if it's contested than why not stay into Gary's point and have six seven eight hundred delegates and say who who wants my support. Or Maybe I. Should you know the Dick Cheney? I did a comprehensive search for a vice president and is bounded to be me. Yeah so I still think Bernie is By far the most likely nominee I I think if he's at eighteen hundred delegates it's GonNa be very hard to take it from him is people rightly would be. I up in arms Okay which by the way gives us six more months of Larry David. Yeah which is good. Doing Bernie

"We're going to. We're going to make football show because that's what people like over the weekend. Everybody who listens to this show presumably watched all of the football games or most of all of the football guess. He missed the playoffs playoff in Hawaii. The yes I missed that one Justin Thomas I saw this morning. I thought it was really nice but I missed it last last night because it came on pretty late We're going to do you because the ratings of the NFL up all across the board because the interest in the NFL is up all across the board and because each of those those games was quite interesting in its own way including terrible terrible. Coaching decisions by both coaches in the Houston Buffalo Game. We're going to talk about out this for an extended period of time in the first segment. Michael Wilbon will join us in second segment. We're GONNA limit news and go right to old guy where we're going to talk about the Golden Globes and the matchups for next week. That's what we're going to the show probably the same length. But I WANNA do it if you don't mind I WANNA do it that way also. WanNa thank Clarendon Tola for Baking Cooke's for Claire Gary Braun Chris Cillizza Michael Kornheiser Nigel. Who has nothing to do except for on the boards because we're not sleep keeps pressing one button? So He's been news cancelled forever now just today. If you don't mind especially the best thing is not gonNa work out just I you know I'm old and I thought why not like Michael said to me last night we were talking about the possibility of of Michael. Are you shaking your head. You don't want me to. Would you go ahead down the fourth wall. People talking about Mike Lees. I won't share this on air dead. Yeah go ahead Michael Says Cillizza how how do we get rid of him. Nicely to the change in the show today. I let's start. Let's start with yesterday's which is going to go backwards. I'm just can start with the Minnesota game because of all the games the end result of that game is the most surprises so like I said on the PTI show on Friday. I'll take Tennessee. Plus Five Live and a half all day and all night doesn't mean I think they're gonNA win. I'm GONNA take those points New Orleans. Losing at home in overtime to Minnesota is stunning drew. BREES did not have a great game he had a very bad fumble in drive. That could have changed in the fourth quarter changed. Everything around. He got picked never gets picked. I mean he did not have a great game. There are three quarterbacks forty years old and up over the weekend and they all lost. We'll get to that but even with brees not having a great game. They tied the game. They got into overtime there at home and they yielded the first drive. That's it see around. see you around Kirk cousins who. I am extraordinarily critical of on a regular basis was very good and kirk cousins to Adam Adam field and had to make up for fumble early. You know but I don't feel did that pass. That wins the game. Now there's a third downplay because what you don't want to do is have to kick a field goal because because you don't want to give New Orleans the ball on the one. Yeah you don't WanNa do that. On the third downplay they go in the left. Hand top corner of the end zone to Kyle Rudolph is about twelve aid aide just like that and by the way quickly give cousins credit. That was a terrible snap. The snap his way to his right he basically knocks it with his right hand. Quickly gathers it because you it's all timing and throws a faith throws the fate and Rudolf reaches up. He's much taller than defender and he gets it in the process of doing that he pushes off. There's no question he pushes off. Does it rise to the level of offensive pass interference for me in a playoff game and I have to give context here. New Orleans has tragically lost in Hoon's replay off games in a row cheated in one cheated by by their own stupidity in another with defensive back and I mean I honestly either call offense a pass. Interference would have so I did not I mean I I watched the play. Did Not in real time necessarily see the wrangle back is in front of your Reina Vision Right. So they call it a touchdown a apparently appropriately to me and then you see the replay and and I did think to myself. Like oh my goodness could they. Could they possibly possibly overturn this. I mean it. And we've all seen their explanation and said there was handed both sides. It didn't rise to level pass interference. I mean I'm sorry by no objective measure to me was that not pass interference and in fact is in fact a couple hours later they called the same thing on hollister tight end from. I'm from Seattle and on much less meaningful circumstance but I mean I just felt like the league. We're getting out of the way this one. I mean there's no way every time it's the UNCANNY situational right. We know this. It's like it's like a Games are raft. Basketball game is reverend different right. The game is rough differently in the last thirty seconds than it it is and that's situationally you cannot. I don't think when I watched it and I watched the replay. He pushed off a little bit. Did it it was. It did not to me anyway. I think I disagree with you. Guys did not to me look agree. Gis I think Rudolph was bigger. The defensive back had his back this business. Being that push back. Chris Locate fully extends. I think it was his left arm. Yeah if he is allowed to do that he catches that ball. A hundred injured time. He cannot be defended. Unless you play. Just there's so many calls they show throughout the game when they every time on a pass Where not every time? Seventy percent of the time on a pattern when they show the slow motion the other guy. The the DB is has his arm wrapped around around the guy's waist or is holding. His arm gets there. I just think it's very subjective. That's fine but I agree with that but I would also agree that the saints should not be shafted million better cost the saints again. Plenty of opportunities it. Certainly when you were watching the game I ah in the flow of it and when tased him hill like in three straight plays a three-stroke they score a touchdown. Now it's twenty seventeen right gary to have that right was twenty. I needed to twenty twenty twenty seven hundred twenty and then they get back they get it back and take some hill like three times. Basically the the one where he runs to the left where it looks like. He's tackled and he spins runs for thirty arts. Well they're definitely going to win then. And then brees fumbled. I mean it was very i. I lost fumbling. The ball get hit. No sort of this is arm gets hit a little bit. I'm sorry I'm busy trying to reconstruct your show on the fly without telling you so allowed back in so so tension is good for the show is for Knuckleballer To to to tie it up. What was the forty nine yard or from lots? They're kicking it through. Yeah man that went about now three feet off the ground and easier kick at the end of the first half a ball Games kick forty something already three but that's an easier kick so that game. Let me say one other thing about that game as someone who was a kirk cousins fan when he was here. I'm not going to criticize Kirk. Cousins played fine. He was he was great in that last. Drive the drive. If they lose the haters are going to look at that stat line that would have been seventeen of twenty nine hundred and ninety yards picked and he didn't do anything bad. Oh he had a good game and the pass was just

"The NCAA chase young suspension from four games. To your thoughts. Penn State Michigan. What suspension pinch? You need to kiss Maryland and rutgers the giants named gate capital their new manager. Is that a good fit. Didn't work that well in Philadelphia. I think he's deserving of one more chance it will Oregon can beat Memphis and James Wiseman last night. Break it down. They gave him wiseman too stupid fouls in the first half only played five minutes of the first half kill fourteen twelve. He looks he looks great. Jalen Ramsey's agent requested a trade after sideline clash
"Jalen Ramsey who is to me extraordinarily annoying jalen Ramsey has requested a trade aid from the Jaguars over the fact that he got into it with his head coach Doug marrone because he didn't like the idea as I did did like the idea of Jacksonville going for the win on the road and doing the two point conversion. What Dean is this brand new. What do you make yeah. I wouldn't couch this this this situation and potential accidents in those terms. I mean this. This goes back to last year. Ramsey was disciplined by the team early early in training camp for some stuff that was going on between him and some some teammates and some comments that he then put on his Social Media you know he's one of these guys who who has lost it and let his emotions get the better of them time and again on the sidelines and that runs counter to what Tom Coughlin stands dance for although I would say that it's pretty much been hallmark of these jags teams under Doug marrone. You know the the the lack of discipline when the selfish play the the guys putting themselves before the team with some of the silly penalties and and antics you know we saw it again even in week. One with miles jackets ejected from the game refuses to get off the field. I mean that's been far too prevalent so it's been brewing between him and marrone and really the whole Organization for over a year and he didn't get paid after year three even though he would make the claim he's the best corner and football ethic. He thinks he's better than half the quarterbacks in the League to if you go back to g q article a year ago so this is not like a new development I had to. NFL personnel guys reach out to me last week and both say you know I guarantee you. Jalen. Ramsey is traded before the deadline and that was before this sideline blow up if you're not gonNA pay him and he's planning on already not looking at potential holdouts next year and if he's as much of a malcontent and you could get a lot for him and Nick foles out. I know you don't want to admit that you're rebuilding but you should have already started to rebuild and now you know foles hurt and it's going to be tough sledding and you may need a road to getting a young quarterback. It might be time to stock up on draft graphics. This is a guy you can get a lot for. There's a market for him right. There is a much the the attitude and some of the antics give others pause as well and it may it may end up limiting this this market somewhat and maybe they don't get you know every penny they should get in terms of draft capital and or players like he's a better player than Laremy Tunsil but they're not gonna get you know to ones in the two to go bill. O'Brien O'Brien only has a limited amount of draft picks he can't he can't trade you know every draft pick for the rest of that organization's history so I don. I don't know I think I didn't think a one plus something else for him for Randy. I do really awesome

NBA Playoffs: Did the Rockets Win? Or did the Warriors Lose?
"Let me start with the warriors rockets the other the game the other night and asked the question that is likely to be the question on on PTI today was that the rockets winning the warriors losing you were there. That was really hard figure out because the the Golden State Warriors as badly as two of their three stars played. I mean at least badly they shot. Stephan. Clay, they somehow forced overtime. Yep. They the three the three big guns. They're big three. If you will shot twenty seven four seventy is terrible on the road sterile. And they're within a, you know, a free throw a winning that game in regulation. So I don't know if it was good news for the warriors that they had that happen or really bad news because it means something about Houston. Maybe Houston, you know, when the series started a lot of people not I don't know maybe thirty five forty percent of the people that seemed even around the league thought Houston might win. And then two games in you. Now. Definite clay, together, shooting forty percent in dot gonna stay this cold. You know, Houston isn't gonna find a way, and they have their own issues and hearts harden is up like Stevie Wonder trying to you know, heart and he saw three rims a few times in game two.

Why Daniel Jacobs' team is wary of judges for Canelo Alvarez bout
"I know what you'll be doing on Saturday night. Watching the middleweight championship bout between the canal Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs Jacobs manager, Keith Connolly issued a warning to the judges this. I definitely think that should be a spotlight on these judges. I had to do my job the program promoters have to do their job and the fight has have to do their job. Why shouldn't it be scrutiny on the judges? I have confidence do well. But I still think there should be a big spotlight on them start screaming and yelling if he thought he got a bad decision. These gentlemen rockets. Him. I mean 'cause you might lose eighteen point six points in the tenth around. Let's understand something can allow Varez is the meal ticket for box. Right. Yeah. He's it. So they'll want wanna see him lose. They is no chance. Ella will lose any sort of a decision. You wanna beat him? Tell you find it a knock him down out it works, and if not shut up and take the money that they're giving you

"Pardon the interruption but i'm michael barr tony ronald denia was planning to marry schools women at the same time in august you think that'll work i'm tony kornheiser then worked for me in two of the divorce sisters but my reaction to this is what what do you mean he's going to marry two women at the same time what look i i know lots of things go in brazil really go i mean he really resilient to have to hold richer from four from better or worse you maybe one that seems odd to me welcome pti boys and girls today's episode the warriors save your confidence the magic is interested in tom izzo and my cats advanced to play my goal the nights for the stanley cup but we begin today with the boston celtics once again separating themselves from the cleveland cavaliers by double figures in boston this time it was thirteen points cleveland got nothing at all from jr smith and tristan thompson but the headline seemed to be lebron james is apparent exhaustion we'll by lebron said he was fine did he looked tired to you yes he also admitted he was tired i mean he didn't say the words i am tired but the question was asked and he sort of said yeah you know he now is a yeah and t loose said yes he looked tired i mean you don't need to be a physician to figure this out he was tired lebron though tony i thought said very accurately everybody's a little tired this time of the year and there probably is the case but the cavaliers can't afford him to either sit for much time during gains right or not be able to finish them with a lot of strength and vigor at the end of games i don't know what what's the solution for the cleveland cavaliers except being home with a bronze have more energy so last week i remember saying to you that because cleveland was the older team i felt that when they stopped having two days off and they.
