"I got four later on. They show four. I will today be any different. You're just going to keep throwing vocab words at me. I'm getting, I'm going to start using some of these on TV. Don't really make myself sound smart. You can use the difference between a reeling and reeling and say, well, there's the one that has the W in front of the real. You can't say that because that won't make you look good. But yeah, if you want to mention the difference between reek and reeking, sure, you can do that very, very easily. So we were talking about how Josh McDaniels in your opinion is making the mistake of rather than just capitalizing and just milking for all its worth, the relationship between Derek Carr and Devante Adams keep feeding him the ball he had 17 targets, devonta Adams did in the first game of the season. What do you have? 17 targets, like 11 or ten catches. Ten catches 17 targets, 141 yards. Since then, 7 targets for 12 yards can targets for 36 yards, which by the way speaks up a whole nother message right there that they're still throwing the ball to them, but you're not getting the connection between car and atoms that everybody was predicting because they went to college together with Fresno years ago. But could Josh began in your opinions making a mistake because he's trying to get everybody else involved in the offense, letting the scheme work. Could you say the same needs to be done here is Russell Wilson becoming too dependent on courtland Sutton? Does he have to open up? Does he have to find some room in the trust tree for some other pass catchers? It's an interesting question. And I think that I think that again, you let the offense flow and operate through the scheme and normal down and distance normal situations. When you're ahead of the chains, you let the you let the offense dictate where you go. You call a route combination and if you get the right defense, you throw the flag. You throw the curl, you throw the you throw the skinny post. Whatever it calls for you to do, that's what you do. In critical situations, you go to the guy you trust the most. And again, this goes back to this goes back to my conversations with Matt Lafleur and my conversations with Aaron Rodgers. Like, hey man, let's take the pressure off you on these early downs and distances. Let's make sure because ultimately Mike, the quarterback has so much on his plate. He just does. I mean, more so than any other position. And maybe more so in a position in any other sport. All the things that you have that you're responsible for, all the things that you have to know and to be able to absorb and be able to understand that stuff in the snap of a finger. And so there is so much on your plate in the process is I want to give that quarterback X number of whatever the percentages of plays where he doesn't have to think. So hey man, I'm going to we call them oftentimes tank plays in the NFL. A tank play is just calling run it, man. Call it, run it, take it off the quarterbacks, mental load. And then there's some, there's just easy day one installation concepts that, hey man, we're gonna go stick spacing. Stick spacing is inside receiver of a year and a two by two inside receiver runs a little 6 yard out route. The outside receiver runs off coverage, right? There's your stick concept on that side. And then number one, you run off, number two, you run a little 6 yard out, spacing is just if that's not open, then you got to tie it in on the other side that kind of sits down spot right over the ball. I mean, it's just like it's a day one concept. Quarterback didn't even have to think. All he's looking is that stick route. And if he runs away from leverage in the corner of rolls off, then he just throw it. And if not, you just get back to the spacing constant. You visit with quarterbacks every single week. Yeah. Is there something to the idea that just because a guy is on the football team just because he's a receiver just because he may be drafted where he was drafted, getting paid what he's getting paid. That quarterbacks just freeze him out. Just don't trust him. Just won't go their way. Especially as you get to be more of a veteran quarterback, is are these veteran quarterbacks less and less patient when it comes to, hey, if I don't trust you, I'm not going to throw it to you. I don't care if the play calls for me to read calls for me. I don't trust you. Right. Do you experience a lot of that when you travel around talking to quarterbacks? Because I'm wondering if that's happening with Russell Wilson. I wonder if Russell Wilson is looking at Jerry Judy and go, I just don't, I just don't trust you. I don't trust you, Kendall, Hinton. I don't trust you, Tyree Cleveland. Well, the only guy I trust is Carlin's son. He threw up he threw on that last drive, he threw a big one to Kindle hen on little comeback that he scrambled to the left on. So it's not so much. I don't think does he looking for candle Hinton? Is he looking for? Well, we know he's looking for cortland son. When things break down, that's where when things break down, he knows you have to understand that every route that's called, right? You can individually you know how to tag each guy. You know what each guy's doing, right? So if you call, if you call something, let's call it, let's use Joe clad word. Let's call it viper. Right? You know what, you know one guy's got to pick curl one guy's got a now or out, one guy's got a through route the backsides, gotta go in a branch. And you know, hey, we just call that viper, whatever. Whatever it is, whatever the route coming, you know, wherever guy is. So when things do break down, if you're on the front side and Portland sun's on the backside, running the go, then all of a sudden you're like, oh, things broke down. It's not good. Let me where's correlate? I know he's running that go. No, I know he's going to adjust that going, he's going to come back to me. And so you have that faith of that trust in him. It really isn't so much I'm going to freeze this guy out. I think quarterbacks know what one guy does really well. And if he's not in the position, if he's doing a different route that's not what he does really well, you already medically almost eliminate him mentally. It's almost, I think it might be almost a subconscious thing. Talking to Jared Goff real quick. Tony Jerry Goff, he's like, I was like, what tell me about DJ shark? What does he do? In cutting routes, he's like Robert Woods on Inca, anything in cutting, I know. He's like on rails. So I love these really good with this. I love that. Okay. What do you think if you asked Russell Wilson that question about Jerry Judy? What would he say? Your silence speech volumes. Gary mother Judy. Coming up on Monday. We are putting on the party of the season. Oh, I got it. He responds to critics on Twitter really well. Boom. Nailed

"I said this on patch show so right. Now the line is seven and a half. it's minus one. Fifteen for the giants are sorry for the cowboys. Plus seven and a half. it's minus one. Oh four for the bucks minus seven and a half. Which makes me if i'm looking at that. There's a chance that goes to seven. Yeah so i'm gonna wait on it to see if it goes seven if it goes to eight i said who cares. Seven and a half eight is not a big difference. Seven and a half to seven huge. Yeah if you're new listening the show the key numbers for football season three seven six four ten after that but three seven are mostly the key numbers have you can get minus two and a half or plus three and a half. That's huge view minus six and a half plus seven half that's big number as well So i'm gonna wait to see if it goes to seven because i don't care goes eight taking the blocks. They have every single person back. Everything's going right for them. Cowboy side exact out dak hasn't played in a year and didn't play most of didn't play any preseason. Sam sat out a lot of camp. Lau collins didn't play last year Tired smith two games last year. Their defense last year cowboys sunk. They bring in dan quinn's to new defense and it's not like dan. Kinsman turned up with the falcons on defense. So what mean redrafted. To line backers. Were going to the super bowl. Six second go dax back. You said it. We are two tackles back. Yeah zack martin. He's given out for this game. Probably but it's not a for sure yet. tony jerry. Jones said this morning about this. This we bullshit. I think i think this weekend. Tony is going to be a lot of for me. At least it's it's prove it to me right like like arizona lower Tennessee tennessee minus three at home against arizona. Gimme tennessee proved to me. That your team arizona. In order i mean like that's that's where i'm going like fizi thirteen and five against the spread. His last eighteen starts. I think washington getting appointed hall against the chargers is yup is another one that i've been on for a while. So they're the jets rookie quarterbacks in their history. Four no straight up. Their first game of their career was the jets. But this isn't a i trust. Sam darnold this is like a trust. Mccaffrey and rule. This jets defense could be heredity. They got fifth and sixth. Rounder starting to quarterback tony. And i know zach. Wilson's good. I know he looks good. But i feel like five is low for carolina. Carolina could be the second best team that division this year. The i agree with that actually dombi now. You don't bet on dolphins games but the new england line at minus three. You're going up to new england. Would you take that or nah. Would i take the fans. No zero chance in new england not week..

"Thing was always writing letters. So that's unfair but let's answer. We were kind of like the question was set up to be like twenty years ago. So you kind of But have you ever sent out. Fan mail before to somebody in a written capacity. Have you ever gotten fan mail. Why did flowers from a person. I don't know but that's another story tom. Yeah i thought that we got to see the second opening ceremony of training camp. Only the cowboys would have multiple opening ceremonies throughout an entire training camp But jerry was weirdly emotional again like we kind of talked about this. At the state of the union address in oxnard. Jerry was kind of there. Were some tears. There are some some wannabe tears. We there was such like ecstasy. You know watch this episode coming off at the drone shot. And then you're getting hyped. And then you're just like rock with jerry. Jones really kind of setting up football season in an emotional way. Is there any doubt that jerry jones absolutely loves his life and what he's doing you know this man. He so in his element he feeds off the fans. We we've always known. He feeds off the attention. His love for the camera and the microphone is well established. But this isn't just an act or something. He really connects with all those people out there and no. I don't buy crocodile tears. I think that is. I think he's really on his you know. He wears his harness leaving. Before i get off. Thanks i wanted to just mentioned for those outside of texas. That don't know. Spades is the quintessential texas card game. What playing spades and the bat is just something that's played around card tables throughout the state and with a lot of firing competition and and really good trash talking of saw their. Tom find aggie like i am. It's not a card game but forty two is my favorite sitting around a table game to play with some dominos. A different been. There done that too exactly out to the chicken in college. Station tony Jerry also had a lot of one liners shit like this is really awesome episode. I'm going to butcher this. And we're going to dance around the expletive because this is a family show but it was something to the effect of why not start a day without messing up or something like that. When they were in the helicopter it was some some derivative of that like. Let's just start a day by messing up. You know but again not. It was not the vernacular. Jerry chose to you. Live your life by that creep. Tony think i have the assurances that jerry jones have. I don't think i have the wallet that he has saga be a little more careful than i think. Jerry jones does well. Hey is what it is. Roy was there any doubt that i feel like this is the first time we've seen like a bird's eye view no pun intended of the jerry. Copter that's what you would have thought we would have seen it through all or nothing and we've seen it land a thousand times at the star and at. At and t. stadium but to be on it for the fly into indices a mess up right like i feel like the only thing we didn't look at. What is it called the manifest. That's what it's called like. The thing in the air like the book that was like the only thing we didn't see like we got a lot of we were intimately tied to the area right. Yeah i mean. I felt like i was writing in it. And that's probably because the cameraman at least was writing in it and the shots was getting worse. Intimate is you're going to get although jerry's helicopter fairly spacious compared to a lot of the helicopters that i've been in yeah which is not but when it comes when it comes to like the again the entertainment value of what hard knocks can bring. This was kind of the best of it right. And i think perhaps focusing on some of that jerry opulence plays into that right because if they ever do an episode where they also give us a tour of his of his jerry buss right the one he takes to training camp. That would probably get a lot of people is excited as well right. Who doesn't love a little throwback to mtv cribs billionaire style. That's true meg. We you're the reality. Tv expert here. And you know it's always a treat when an expert or when a when a character is shown in a different light when the villain is all of a sudden humanized or the hero does something villainous. I dunno phyllis a word but We talked about trayvon digs. his son. Aiden trayvon spoke which was weird. I mean how often. How many times have we ever seen. Trayvon do anything outside of his standard normal media obligation and what's more is. It was immediately followed by a session of amari. Cooper of all people miked up so to perhaps the to quietest players on the team trayvon a little bit more vulnerable than amari. What were your thoughts unseen. These particular players. I i mean i was. Obviously we were so super excited to see coop but just speaking to digs especially like really looking behind that curtain in seeing like him facetime with his brother. We got to see aiden. Who was a superstar and stephanie. His mom equally so like they. They come from a family of hams. And like i just need more of them. Tom aiden digs. Or isaac alarcon's mom. Who was the true superstar. Tonight's episode god domain kid had the cuteness but the just the heart and soul of the mom. All was that was great to see i. Would you know i've i. I'll give her vote myself. Just because i thought she was great she was. I mean i don't know anybody that routes that intensely in the preseason like she was tied to this Do we all believe that. Isaac had three pancakes by the way on that one series and are. Are we buying that or you know. Showed them right. I can that those could have been like splice together. Though you know what i'm saying like like the the secrets made it seem like it was like back to back to back so yeah. That was a little editing. Yeah roy what have we not mentioned yet that you want to talk about man. I always make a list The the small stuff that we got from dak prescott right. We got kind of two monologues from dak prescott. That had nothing to do with football right. We got the the awesome quote about how under armor was spanks before spanks and he used to wear them on his way to school so that he could talk what he felt like was chubbiness. Who hasn't been there right. And i cosigned that statement about under armor. Haven't been spanks before there were spanks and under armor. They were ahead of their time the other portion that he gave us though that portion about on by the way for different brand from the mr jordan athlete on saying e careful. That's true. He needs to be careful right back his back. He's in go on the was way more. Existential go ahead. The other part about the haunted houses and we are close to that time right. We're only about two months away. Really a month away from haunted houses getting up and running especially here in texas and there are some extremely intense ones every point he made about it. I was like ding ding ding. Why do i point explained points. Where i for people who missed the everybody has hbo. Max is attached to friends or big bang. Theory is what it is. Yeah so the point essentially made was like i used to tell my mother that if there was any where they were going to kill you it would be in a haunted house right. The people that are using those chainsaws. You don't know if they've switched them out with a real chainsaw..

"The more you can help you and your team be focused, the better you'll be able to execute. And those three words, clarity, focus and execution. Just a giant deal for me to being the best you can be. Along with some YouTube videos in a meeting. What's that right along some YouTube videos of the meeting? Well, I think about it. How many people don't use a video? You may not be funny. But if you want to bring humor, just find a video, their body last set, and it applies to your theme. It's a great deal. People don't even see that. I like it. It's a really good takeaway. Definitely something I picked up here. Tony Jerry, the website Tony jerry dot com. His book is five appreciate the time. Brian, Did you talk to you? Everybody check out that new book by everybody needs to have bide Bide the book dot com Is Brian the way that you get that new book It'll be launching here in the next couple months. All right. Sounds good. And your top three takeaways for today. First up is reckless government spending Equals inflation. Alright. So that was the quote from Senator Rick Scott here on the show to me yesterday, and I think it nails it. 5.4%. That's how much more money you have to be earning today. Compared to a year ago today, just to break even All right to have the same buying power. So why did Biden administration and the Federal Reserve continue to say inflation is transitory or temporary as very real? For regular Americans, and especially South Floridians every day? Nothing. You need to hear it from me. You feel.

"Now What this legislation says, among many, many other things that those things are gone. Healthy ecological operations are going to start paying their fair share of taxes so that we can protect the working families of this country. Bernie Sanders is someone who makes me laugh. Sometimes you know here already has to say, and I laugh. It helps keep me from crying at times to now laughter. It might actually play into something to make you better at work. By the way, coming up a half hour from now will be joined by Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez talking about Cuban freedom. Get to my top three takeaways here in just a few. But first we're going to talk a little bit about what goes on to work. So as it turns out, I guess the key The workplace Productivity is hiring a comedian. Enjoying US business strategist Tony Jerry. His new book is called five. His website Tony jerry dot com. So, Tony, If we get a funny man in the workplace, we become more productive. You know what I think Humor really does all kinds of cool things, all kinds of cool things and a lot of teeth. A lot of times in today's world, people are to starch. Yeah. You know, there is something to be said for a good laugh. I'm not sure necessarily going. The committee in route is going to be the play here but in but in all seriousness, what are some things that you know, we might be able to do in the workplace that can lighten things up a bit, and maybe help camaraderie and help productivity in the end. Brian, one of the things that I encourage A lot of the folks that I coach is to find funny videos that are on YouTube and show them during meetings that apply to the subject or the topic that you want to reinforce. Yesterday, I was doing a meeting on team building and I showed how to really cheer on your team and everybody laughs. When I showed a 42 2nd video. It brought laughter and really vibe if you will, to the whole room. That's cool. I mean, it's a really good one. It's easy. I like it some some good, usable stuff. And what the questions that comes up a lot, You know, hear about people complaining about their managers all the time. How many managers are actually good at managing to begin with Well, you know, when I when I heard that you were going to ask me that question, Brian almost always answer this way. There's a good balance between managing and leading. And some people are better at leading in the summer. Better at managing. In my opinion, a good manager needs to do both. And the better you can lift up and let your people do their thing. The more you can lead and so I don't know, I I guess it's You probably wouldn't be a manager if you weren't pretty good, But there's a lot of people that really need to lead better. So if I could dance around your question, little bit Stephen giving the exact percentage I'd say, really balancing, leading and managing Is kind of the secret. You bring up an interesting point to a lot of people are good at one thing, And then they just kind of get end up in management because they are good at something that may be managing, wasn't it? But right? Yeah, it's interesting, interesting takeaway there as well. And you know something else you know, comes up quite a bit. People might like their company. They might like what they do, but they don't like their manager, and they might be thinking about leaving because Not happy with their management. How do you try to navigate that situation? You know, my answer on that one is understanding oftentimes people that you may not like sometimes you may not understand. And so my my advice would be whether your manager are working for somebody. To see if you can dig deeper. An understanding why a person does what they do, why they manager lead the way they do what their priorities are. And the better. You understand, people generally, the better you can like them. Okay? Yeah, it makes sense. And you know, Tony to that end, are there any kind of qualities that are commonplace with people that are provably good leaders, good managers. You know, I've written quite a bit on my core methodology. Brian called clarity, focus and execution. I believe that any leader or any manager at any level, the more clarity you have and what you want to get done and where you're going,.
