We all get that way. Younger escape. park seemed like a real easy thing to put into a a city budget right. I mean it's it's just basically we need a bit of land dig a hole then shape it pour some cement. I mean it's it's about the cheapest thing you can do with civic engineering out. Imagine right yeah. You would think you would be that easy. It's it's more of the stigma in skateboarding and and they think that the skate parks are going to attract a bad crowd and be a bad influence. And that's the that's used. The the the biggest barrier for getting skate parks approved once we approve projects. Or give them funding. That's usually the endorsement. They need to get it sort of push through all the red tape. You know. it's funny like you spend all your time. You talked about the stereotypes of like you know it's a bunch of stones and whatever but now given the environment we live in. Can you imagine if you finally if you announced that you were releasing a line of we'd all your critics just been waiting. We knew it we knew it. We knew it all various types. we like. Myself i feel like it was a combination of all three but but i think that that pardon me was like why didn't i think of this twenty years ago because my body and my timing would have been much more in tune for this exact thing and now it's just kind of slower and that slow does not work for what i'm trying to do and so i think the other thing is i never got so close that i could taste like i got semi class interesting but i never got to the point where i was like that was it i had it. I think that team seem super talented. And it this seems kind of unceremonious to me. Well the rumor is that vicarious visions has been working on a diablo to re master for quite a while and that blizzard was so dissatisfied with the warcraft. Three re master which received a lot of hype and was Was a disappointment. i think. I think there's only one way to describe it. It was a disappointment to fans. It was a disappointment to the studio when it released it. Had a bunch of problems and I think they the rumor is that they wanted to date. Being blizzard. wanted to avoid a repeat of that kind of scenario and we're using vicarious visions to work on the diablo two remastered which is unannounced. Chat is saying remake is what they're polite yes. Pardon me remake. These terms should be precise and i. It's my mistake for nelson. Hasn't been out so we don't really know i mean with warcraft. Three was a master. S diablo to remake would be pretty exciting but yes supposedly that was handed over to the four-team and then than they brought in vicarious visions to offload that work as work on the before ramped up and They're they're calling it. Diablo two resurrected all again all of this rumor. But if that's the case super excited obviously victorious visions. Very good at these kinds of remakes. These kinds of taking old games and making them look gorgeous on modern technology so as a huge fan of the oslo to very excited about that prospect. Be i get what you're saying christian about it. Being a bit of a bummer. To to hear that they will no longer be the lead developer on any kind of game creation. Rob you Inside a developer. All the time what. What is your your take on. This is the kind of thing that would be disheartening to a group to to visions themselves or do they see it as potentially an opportunity to probably a little bit of both The thing that bums me out. The most is sort of losing vicarious visions v as it's colloquially known in the games industry as as a brand like air studio that has a very long history. They've been around for a very long time. One of the few coast studios in albany new york which is rare So them to sort of lose their identity and just become you know a blizzard new yorker or whatever blizzard east Is just a bummer. Just from just from a name standpoint It does. I mean they do good work though so i think ultimately for the security of the people working the studio is probably a good thing it ensures longevity that those people will have jobs and projects at work on whether or not. It's the projects that those folks were hoping to work on if they were developing internally typically studios are always trying to develop things internally especially smaller studios sports support studios. They wanna like make their own. Ap eventually that's probably the goal of every studio. Imagine sure and so losing that for now. is probably. There's probably some stink to it. But i would also say like if they continue to prove themselves doing this. There's no reason why. I wouldn't think that they might be handed. Something in the future that may be as a blizzard. "The most well known games for exactly one reason. And that's because just like Tony Hawk pro skater, it's not the game play mechanics that make this game. It's the soundtrack. It has one of the most unique sounding soundtracks of video games that just stands out like at the same time that Parappa the Rappa was out on the Dreamcast. This was also on the Dreamcast. Yes, it's so it's so good, that's wrong. That's not the lyrics. So what you're doing and jet set radios. You're actually you play with graffiti and you're going around, tagging, grinding and tricking to the beat as they like to say on your skateboard while you go around. It's a rhythm game, then No, it's not rhythm, but it's like the music is incorporated. Right. Like you have to be able Tohno put like graffiti tags. It's very like urban. It's cool. You're like you're on skates and stuff like that, and it I don't know it more than anything else. It has. Like I said, one of the most stand out soundtracks available. You can get this game. Why wouldn't I just go get the soundtrack then because it's fun to go back and play some of these older games? Sometimes, I think like you get to play 10 playable characters. You can go through design your own graffiti to be able to place throughout the game. I'm gonna be honest is the hot takes, especially if Norris from Checkpoint XP on campus here is he's would be furious at me with, but I always thought that jet set radio was super overhyped. Why has never wanted to play this game? Never in my life. You dude. It has a 96% positive rating on steam a nine out of 10 because I like you and Norris go and like, you know, raided and voted up. And then the people who haven't played like me who don't actually care. Don't give it the time of day. Prince of Persia Remake Graphics Already Look Much Better in Updated Screenshot
"Of Persia is back. The sands of time is getting remade. Now, this is not just a re master with a resing. It's actual using the term remake and they showed off a new trailer. It's coming to PC playstation four and xbox one on January. Twenty. First Twenty twenty one. What did you think of the trailer Tricia I I should ask you, I guess, play the original game in and so did you like it? I never owned the original game. So I was around while other people were playing Rachel Cam. And I enjoyed watching the bits that I watched, but it doesn't have the same nostalgic residents with me that I feel like it does with other people. I kind of had a similar a similar reaction to think. What I was the majority in chat watching it live, which is you know these graphics look two generations ago in this supposed to come to next gen consoles what Gibbs but I'm curious to ask you guys if either of you did play the original to a great extent did the graphics feel reminiscent of the original and maybe that's why that artistic choice was made. Certainly. I mean it looks as so many of these remakes do except for the ones that are really go for it but so many of these games. It looks like I remember the game looking you know because. In my head, it looked like that and then you go back and you screen shots like Oh, God? No, it didn't look anything like that. They've done a lot of work on this but in your head you're like Oh. Yeah. That looks like. The time which is a game I absolutely loved at the time and I'm kind of excited a replay it. Christian. How about you are you disappointed by the look of this remake or did you did you play the game with? What's your feelings played? It loved it. All of them I play them on. Game. Cube Big Fan of that of that series even the dark middle chapter with bangs in his is I could I got behind it. You know we were both listening the Thursday at the same time you're. I am not excited about this remake I I want a new Prince of Persia for whatever reason replaying this game doesn't seem exciting to me I. think some games like Halo where the combat is a little bit more of a sandbox are a little more enticing. To combat to have been I don't know evolved. More needs to be a mortal colon writing for me to get. Yeah I don't know. That's the thing. If maybe they gave it like that man combat combat in the originals was good but I think third person action combat is kind of moved past that. Now I'm not I'm not super excited about I want a one a new game in the franchise in this race gets us that is this would breathe this. This game is remake doing well, does that get us the new game? The Franchise? Is this a stopgap to the game in the franchise? That's two years out. It may very well be but I I hope I'm wrong than if that's the case but I don't think this game will do particularly well, because while I, do think it looks kind of like how I remember the original looking. You know this is going to be coming out a few months after the new consoles are out and we're seeing spider man miles morales, and we're seeing maybe ray tracing on ratchet and clank in we're seeing other. UBISOFT. Know involve Hala and some of these other games that they're doing and I don't think people are going to be super excited about this remake coming out in January, which is a little bit of a weird time. Ano- Capcom has had some success with that date before to. Remix with remakes but those were bigger like after seeing that style of remake if it's not Tony Hawk purse gator one to a resident evil two I have a hard time getting out of bed for it. You know like We've been spoiled by incredible incredible remakes lately, and from what I saw of this Prince of Persia Sands of time remake doesn't seem to be at that caliber in my opinion.

It's coming sometime later this year before December third busing you liked what you play this game yeah. No I enjoyed it like I've said this before, but it's basically you be Saas version breath wild and I think that very much shows each and every way where you have so many of the mechanics and ideas from breath while the climbing and like the the they have a shrine Like replacement in in Gaza and immortals Phoenix rising, they have the open world that is filled with puzzles and all this stuff play lot somewhere at ease. But then also if you'll. If. You'll structured like a Yousof game and I was actually talking to my roommate Michael about this last night. But he was very much like seems like breath breathalyzer came out and it it copied a lot of what you saw is doing and we saw Admiral Hey we can be. Doing I feel like that's a pretty apt way to put it almost when you look at the towers and stuff breath wild. Stuff manifest this. Game though has me excited. For I'm. Coming to next Gen, I think is exciting. I N necessarily expected not to, but this plus came out in. February and so I think I had the question of all right what does this release look like and so that's an exciting thing I. wonder if it looks better, I wonder how I wonder what the differences between the two skews It also coming to switch is really exciting because I was thinking they revealed that surprise me you know especially with the breadth of wild similarities that coming to switch I think is going to be interesting for that audience to see how people will take to it whether people flocked to order people are put off to put off by it. I. My my thing in this isn't me knocking it right breath. The wild part of that game I thought was the journey across the island and making it feel like you're making big steps watching What we saw last night from Phoenix rising. It seemed like traversing the island in getting around seemed quicker. Is that an apt description or is that just what made to look like? I think that's apt but I also wonder how late in the game that is because when I jumped in halfway through I, wonder if we're at the beginning of the game, does heal a lot slower because that is my thing with breath to you a breath breath the wild. One. Of The wild one. Breath wild felt like one of the biggest open world games I played even though it probably like in scale of the map, it probably isn't as like it probably isn't that big you know in reality but the way in which they approach like that journey aspect of it makes it feel like it's huge near exploring all these different things in that like you know you really feel like you're going. Through journey because you're kind of exploring that world slowly and meticulously, and you know, they give you the the paraglider thing early in the game breath wild Ryan so like they give you some of those those those tools to explorer in like go through the island quicker. But even even with that Econo, still feel like you're tracking few and You know really getting everything out of the map. Immoral Phoenix rising when I was playing did feel a bit like quicker and did feel be onto the next thing right? You feel like you are going to the next class breath while didn't really have A. The has system, but it's not as traditional and strict as. A. Lot of other similar open World Games try immoral Phoenix rising does seem to have a quest system that is a bit stricter in terms of, hey, go do this thing called the next question?
