"When he's up with a plate. You know, given one of those squirrel hits. So we've talked leadership. We've talked hitting. Now let's talk chemistry. You recently wrote a story about backup outfielder Travis jankowski and a box of t-shirts. So what happened there? So Travis jankowski, I guess you would call him a major league journeyman at this point. He's on his fourth organization in four years, but he's kind of, I guess what you would call a glue guy. He plays the outfield. He plays all three positions. He's a backup player he's on the bench in about a few weeks into the season. He was talking about embracing that role of being a backup. And he had a great line about telling reporters that, you know, I know I'm the kind of guy. Nobody's going to buy my Jersey. You really have to check your ego with the door every day. No one's going to be buying my Jersey, you know, but I still think that there's a big part of what I bring to the table that is very important and very needed to winning teams and championship teams. Of course, mets fans being mets fans, it quickly sort of blew up in the sense of like, okay, this guy thinks we're not going to buy his Jersey. We're going to go out and buy his Jersey. The guys in the Clubhouse also heard that quote as well. And about two and a half weeks later, a box of t-shirts showed up in the mets Clubhouse, all Travis jankowski t-shirts with his name on them and his number. They were sort of delivered at a pregame hitting meeting by Eduardo Escobar. You know, buck showalter said, hey, it's more than just a T-shirt. I think it was sort of a message that like everybody in that Clubhouse matters. You know, Travis jankowski matters just as much as Max Scherzer to the Met's success and travesty Niko's. He said he was slightly embarrassed about it. I think he blushed a little bit. In the meeting when they gave the t-shirts out. Come on, I appreciate it. That was great, you know? It was definitely not needed. I didn't really want that. I was embarrassed when they ended in the outfit. It's very appreciated. You know, it's good to be in a Clubhouse where a role player gets. By the next day, all the mets wore them during their pregame warm ups and batting practice. And so everybody on the mets team for one day, at least was Travis jankowski. Coming up, the latest on the injuries to the mets aces, Max Scherzer and Jacob de Grom. And this concern rising in New York about this whole thing potentially falling apart. Will Reston on Wednesday night the mets beat the Cardinals, but something happened that they did not want to see in the 6th inning with ace right hander, Max Scherzer. Without it's number one starter and Jacob the ground and without his replacement and title of McGill. Certainly Max Scherzer taking himself out of the game in the middle of an at bat has got to be a rather sickening feeling. When we now know that he's expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks with a strained oblique. So for anyone who hasn't been following this team closely, how significant is it for them to not have Scherzer for an extended period of time? Well, the mets are leased in an advantageous position where they've banked all these wins. They have this nice lead in the national league east. But it's a big blow for their pitching staff because they obviously Jacob B Graham is on the injured list. He's trying to get back potentially by late June or early July, Tyler McGill is out, and the rotation depth is really going to be tested over the next couple of months. Even Chris Bassett, who was also acquired in the off season from the Oakland a's, has talked about how much he's just loved working alongside Max Scherzer, who's intensity is sort of legendary. I mean, teammates will literally describe he's kind of psychotic out there when he's on the baseball field. And when you see that, I think, and when you're in that presence every day, I think it kind of causes everybody else to sort of up their game in terms of competitiveness. And it's just offers a little bit of that kind of classic mets fan doom situation where you're always expecting every injury to be worse. So it will offer just another obstacle in terms of getting over that kind of psychological issue that everyone seems to have around flushing. So speaking of pressure, how much of it is now on the offense that often set we talked about earlier with the team's two best pictures out, especially with a tough stretch of West Coast games coming up over the next few weeks. Yeah, I mean, the team responded instantly after Max Scherzer went out on Wednesday night and scored 11 runs against the Cardinals. They have depth in their lineup and that's been another strong suit of this team so far. But it is going to put a lot of pressure on the Pete Alonso's and the Jeff McNeil's in the Francisco Lindor's to produce. Well, finally, rest in last weekend, the mets lost a series to the Mariners, which was the first one that they've dropped all year. And after the fast start, they've basically been playing 500 baseball lately. So with last year's collapse, still fresh on the minds of fans and including me, as well as all these injuries, what's the vibe around this team right now? Are they concerned about the whole thing falling apart? I don't think the mets will ever say that they are concerned. The players that is, and what Steve Cohen did in the off season was to go out and basically add enough depth to the roster to where they can weather injuries like this. But I think this just shows how fragile things can be, especially the mets, you know, when you go out and sign free agents, those guys are on the other side of 30, you know, Max Scherzer is 37. So I think when there's an injury history with the mets and you always worry about some rash of injuries ruining a great season, I think this is something to watch going forward to see if they can stay healthy enough to hold off their.

"And jason. You would turn tricks with balls right and not only not a bunch of balls all over me. Just remember cameras. Cameras were always on and there was. There was a maximum of two balls. So tony are you the best at those games like Imagine there's some competitions that how would you place on those the video game competitions. I can hold my own. I learned through the years that if you have a game with your name on it you should be able to play it and at least know how to complete it without cheating but there are people that have a lot more time to spend on it and they get scores. That are ten times. What i can do a hundred times what i can do some time. I played it many times. I've owned a few versions of your games just. Fyi didn't wanna lead with that but I'm a gamer and It's thank you excellent game. excellent game. Well we remastered If i may we remastered the first two and so they're out on all the systems including switch was just released yesterday. Wow nice amman it on. I guess we just figured out what you're doing tonight. Yeah yeah for my. I'm just gonna go berserk sean. Thanks so much thanks. My my brother texted me a picture of my mom's glass. I and said mom and i wish you a happy birthday. His mom's been dead for a few years. Tony just gives you sean. Listen shaun happy birthday. Your your dad. And i'm having drinks with your dad's father's day and he reached out to me to hang but That's cool that makes sense. Sorry sorry. I tracked video out. I'm going to buy. I'm gonna win it and then i'll texas i appreciate it and getting it for your birthday. Thank you yeah so so tony and so you have this this foundation where you create all this You know Space for kids to us. You know by the way say blah blah blah like a complete jerk. But what i mean is this is something. That's that's our mission statement and skate parks blah blah blah. I that it's a lot. It was hard for me to in cabinet like you guys do a lot joel. Yeah i know how long what do you do. You see as sort of a breakthrough. has there been a tipping point in terms of okay just sounded out. Are you bored. Are you bored. Tony's doing i mean she knows bro. Yasha notes i'm asking. What is the goal. Is everybody skateboarding by twenty fifty like. That's that's what i mean like a four nation asian. No the goal is more. You have public skate parks in in underserved areas but also just so that anyone can go find skate. Parking area We've been doing a twenty years and we've helped to fund over five hundred parks that are completed now and we're coming in to nine hundred that have been funded and that's the working. Most proud of. I think if i had to choose a legacy of some sort that nutjob yulon musk said. Hey why don't you hop on on my genton. We'll go to the skateboard on the moon. Would you do it. yeah sure sure how. Yeah who wouldn't. I would love to see as long as it doesn't cost me anything by the way i said i said elon musk's joe i mean job and a great way this ten dollar. We all get that way. Younger escape. park seemed like a real easy thing to put into a a city budget right. I mean it's it's just basically we need a bit of land dig a hole then shape it pour some cement. I mean it's it's about the cheapest thing you can do with civic engineering out. Imagine right yeah. You would think you would be that easy. It's it's more of the stigma in skateboarding and and they think that the skate parks are going to attract a bad crowd and be a bad influence. And that's the that's used. The the the biggest barrier for getting skate parks approved once we approve projects. Or give them funding. That's usually the endorsement. They need to get it sort of push through all the red tape. You know. it's funny like you spend all your time. You talked about the stereotypes of like you know it's a bunch of stones and whatever but now given the environment we live in. Can you imagine if you finally if you announced that you were releasing a line of we'd all your critics just been waiting. We knew it we knew it. We knew it all various types. we like. This is really good for this type of wheat is really been doing. You know what i mean. This is like skate park. We this is just like parking lot. We after the scape part wind down we chick names. I'll bet i'll bet you'd have a real decision to make if somebody approached you with your licensing just a weed brand you love it. It's all fifty three. Come on man. We're not gonna judge you dude. We're told i will defend you. I will defend you. Just gumy's not not not any flower bro. To somebody like gumy's around here. No i skateboards shape. Gumy's oh this guy's got so many good ideas it's unbelievable. Where do you stand on the on the on the skateboards with the motors on them. Does it make you cringe. No no it's fine with me. That's one i'll tell and people say it you know. They're they're all these. These purists say will long boards is not skateboarding because they're just transportation. And i say hey whatever gets you out there on a skateboard and active is fine with me. Yeah a lot of people out there with complaints these days with stuff like that you know and everybody's taking positions and you know what my position is shot up. Yeah well tony. Funniest one of the funniest lines from today's show. We're gonna do highlights. It's jason said. Oh i wasn't. I wasn't sitting in class learning how to flick book her. And you know what i resented about that. I was sitting in class teaching. How to flick buggers right. I apologize guys a sean down to the house at age. "So now you were so excited and then what's it thing. What's the thing the kids do with the fists of shaking back and forth behind him in front of them and behind him in front of them usenet re snapped it on that. I think trying to learn that. Oh that one the glossing jason. Did you just get an email from two thousand seventeen so tony. So you've been in the hospital that you broke your pelvis in. I like the way you had to think about it. You're like i guess when i broke my pelvis. Did you ever have like a big injury. When you're a kid and your your folks are like dude. You got to stop skateboarding. They they never told me to stop but they were concerned. Because i i got a pretty bad concussion. Early on knocked out my teeth and i remember. I had a string of injuries. All in within a year When i started getting serious about skateboarding and then they sending me insurance forms in the mail as if i were an elderly high risk so and my my parents said This is because you've been to the hospital many times. But i was lucky in that my they knew i was going to keep doing it. What happened for you when the moment when you're like oh this i'm gonna march right up in front of my parents and say basically how do you like me now. I told you it was going to work out. And things are working out for me and start getting on board because look what just happened. Was it a check. Was it a was it. A contract was it. Was it an award honesty. I got really lucky. My my parents were always supportive of it. Even when when the outlook was bleak and so they were as excited and surprised as i was when i was making money and i bought a literally bought a house while i was a senior in high school. Wow you bought a house while you're in high school. Yeah in my senior year. My dad cosigned for it because i was not eighteen yet because he he was encouraging need to obviously he put my money away. Because you could see that it kept coming. And i was not really concerned with saving it. That is officially rap. And i know. I know i've read things about you that you're an entrepreneur. You have a bunch of different businesses. Like what are they. Well mostly my skate brand. Birdhouse skateboards yeah. We have one here at the house. Oh thank you my twelve year. Old house one. You're the reason we've been going for almost thirty years now. That's amazing And then we have a foundation. The skate park project for public parks. Underserved areas. hawk clothing is a clothing brand that my siblings and i started for was basically supposed to be like skate and surf. Clothing for kids. that's But turned into something bigger than that. You have like a lifelong battle with security guards like when you see a security guard. Because they're the people who are trying to keep you from skating everywhere. Uc's security guard as your back a little bit and you're like you're my enemy. I endured them through the years. Obviously i'm more. I'm more of escape. Parker ramp skater. So i'm more about skating designated spots. But you'd be surprised. At the the anomaly of the stuff that i can get away with sometimes when i gave recognized of course sooner just jump into somebody's backyard and starts skating and they came out and then they see it's tony hawk. And then they're like. Oh yeah it's cool. Problems just need to take water out of this pool just drink. Can we film you. We went to a an apartment complex where they had an empty swimming pool that we heard about. And we got there and They were very eager to kick us out. And then one of the guys recognize me and then they welcomed us and made barbecue for us cost. That's true that is awesome. I want to know is was there. How old were you. And what was the moment where you kind of looked around and said wait a minute. I can blow this thing out into a corporation a much bigger than just skating into all of these businesses that you started. Was there a person that that caught your ear and was like hey you know if you're smart you kinda like branch out and do all this stuff or is there something that inspired you that happened. You're like wait a minute. I think now's the opportunity to hit while the iron is hot. I think it was in the early two thousands. When suddenly my name was synonymous with video games and people started saying my name as more of a company or a brand then me personally. That was when i realized that it had a broader reach and that i could probably do a lot more like have a lot more opportunity It may be create other direction or other businesses through skateboarding. And that's when i started the the boom husham which was a an arena tour that featured skateboarding. Bmx motocross and it was all stemmed just from that sort of recognition factor that i had. It's really cool. Does your skateboarding talent. Translate similarly to snowboarding talent Or surfing talent a little. I have been serving almost as long as i've been skating. But i don't like big waves. I don't like being held. Underwater by the sheer force of them and snowboarding is maybe a little bit closer for me. i've been doing that since well. Actually it was invented. I wonder if like kelly slater skate as well as you serve or does shawn white skate as well as you snowboard. I'd love. i'd love to see that smack down between the three goes. Yeah that's a good idea. I'll tell you sean. White is an excellent skateboarder. Yeah he is a pro skateboarder as well as a pro snowboarder. Kelly on skateboards not so much. Yeah but he can play golf. My god oh yeah. He's a great dude. We should play with them. Tony do you play golf. No okay well. we're going to start your real soon. The the other thing is My son just finished my twelve year old twelve and a half year old. he just did his first To the week of surf camp and He he did really great and he had the same thing though he was just like there. Were a couple of days where there is a pretty big swell. Now i'm gonna start using verbiage. That tony i know because we're both kind of ran. Yeah kind of talk. Slow from inchon. Yeah so there's a pretty sweet swell anyway. he got. After the first week he got given their word for best white because he took a board to the nose. Sorry he kikwit what he was cleaning. Something he said. Wipe out then. We took him to the most. I know jason. Such an inside cat was cleaning. Something something fell on him so he swelled and we were out Barreling okay so here's the deal so we're Anyway the point is to the nose. And i understand that thing about surfing. I didn't serve my first time until my thirties. And sometimes when those waves get big. I'm like yeah. I'm scared of being held down by a huge wave that kind of bums me out. I like a lot of the other stuff. But that thing really freaks me and also the water tastes like shit but maybe we can put a little. We can put a little stevia in to solve. Jason and sean have you guys ever serve steve. Yeah man. no kidding me keyboard win. Oh i mean. I'm bored of it now a lot. No i know you skateboarded i want. I want stood up on a board a just long enough and it's just been the one time but long enough to go. Oh wait a second. The waves gets smaller. Once you stand up. I did a lot of boogie boarding when i was a kid. And of course the waves are are at their max hike. Because you're always on your belly once you stand up on something you like. Oh i'm already six feet a so a six foot wave. Is you know. I'm looking at right in the eye..

"I don't want you to take this the wrong way. But can i ask you. Question is at the part. I'm going to take the wrong way or is it the question. Here's the question in the last twelve hours. Have you been chugging soy sauce. Boy that's pretty shiny gloss. How's your clean those windows but there there's a lot of sodium in those hot dogs at the at the diner stadium and especially the veggie dogs which You know my soft hollywood ass eats and then you ask them to cut the dog into a salad form by the way we all senior hot hot say yes and those arc. It's it's yeah it's it's not good looking and then i had four bags of peanuts. Those come salted. You know what i have bags of peanuts. Yeah but they're smaller this year. So it's really too okay so that's a good story you tell yourself i love i love i love i was gonna do a until i was gonna do a joke and not say it. I'm chugging nuts you know and my mouth and a nice bag nuts. it's cheap is cheap. Joke in his jeep. What i was gonna driving me crazy thinking about You drive into the thing was driving. Never talked about driving on the show at a guy yesterday. Park his car half a parking spot. And so that is right. Bumper was almost an interim my door. So i couldn't get back into my car and i was like. Hey man and i see this woman. I go look this parking job and this woman's on the other side of me going to get in her car goes. Oh i thought you were talking about mine is my parking's not great. Because she had in fairness she did tend to parallel parking with no other cars around her bail. Because it wasn't great. I love watching somebody bail for mark with extra space. She actually looked over at me. When and i was sitting there with the kids were waiting for food restaurant. She at me. And i kind of went just can like that non-judgemental could writing so anyway. So then i go to look find the guy and he's picking up like five pizzas and i go. Hey man. is this your car. You've you've parked in front of my door one second and no no no no you waiting for the other people. I'm no just picking up my one second. I'm like oh. Am i on your time now. Did you say that's why. Wait for this guy. You'd say say that. I think i would do i say it. And it's it's a problem and i'm the pizza guy. So so as he comes back and i'm like unbelievable. This guy is so inconsiderate. In the woman goes she goes. I love smart. I listen to martin every day and then go well into the show. So you're going to hear so you're out there. Whoever you are. She's a very nice lady. The guy comes back with the pizzas and any finally and he's like these other people on the other side of me and he was like italian or something because you give them and on the other side. And i couldn't get in any way and i'm like okay so anyway so you're good. Are you good now. Are you loaded up you. Can i load my car now. Yeah myself you know what it is what it is. It's when people do shit and they had zero consideration for the world around that which is a lot. It's like people with their driving again. Is like blinkers yeah. Put your fucking blinker on man. I know that just having yesterday. what our guest. I bet you he wishes people would use their blinkers because this would impact him directly because of what he does because he rides motorcycles. Well let's just say this. He's a real life action. Hero arnold schwarzenegger in i said real life. I said roy i can. I can pick it off to laugh right. This is this is a guy who turned pro in what he does. The age of fourteen in pretty sure He dominated for about a dozen years of being the number one at what he does. He's the first person ever in competition to pull off a nine hundred what they call a nine hundred thousand nine hundred ninety nine x. Games he is one of the most recognizable people in the world. Tony and you've been asked us two million times. I'm sure you're board. Take us back. You started as a pro skater when you were a teenager. What was that. What was that moment of like. You're a kid who skates grew up in southern california. And all of a sudden what. You're you're doing it professionally. What was that which is kind of in quotes right because there wasn't a bunch of money in the in that business at the time right right. Yeah it's it's it's more along those lines it was it was kind of like being deemed professional hula hooper. It wasn't there were there. were no contracts. Being offered to me. i basically entered a I filled out an entry form competition and instead of checking amateur i checked professional and that was i was proud. I moved up a class vision. And i was competing for one hundred dollars first place prize but i was fourteen and one hundred bucks on my way to buying a moped so If felt awesome because it was you know in terms of like where i would i was doing in the world i was in that was that was the top of the line but I never imagined a career. Not at all and so you. maybe turning. Pro wasn't a huge deal in terms of the purses and stuff initially but you are like going to competitions with that just southern california instantly kind.

"Now you're making me is like just whatever city you're in. It's just going to develop you're going to. You're going to adopt to what the different but also skit skate. Parks finally more abundant. And so if you wanna be a bowl skater you can still do in san francisco and you couldn't you couldn't twenty years ago now and international when you travel internationally It's growing all over. And i think you know. Once the olympics happened this month That's going to raise the profile. And they weren't us much more. But i've seen skating in the most unlikely places went to there's a full thriving spacey in ethiopia that i went and skated with locals there I've skated There's there's escape park in uganda. I haven't been there but there is and if you look at videos it's fascinating well And quick about how to learn to skate and award zone So the documentary on skate dan. Which is a group that provide the. Does skateboard facilities education like literal education In some of the craziest areas in their most famous is in kabul afghanistan and They did documentary on girls. There was how to skate in a war zone. Girl escaped how to learn how to learn to skate in a war zone. If you're a girl and it's about these girls that have found skate. Us dan because they get to school there and they get and because it's not considered a sport. They're allowed to gate do activity that boys also do because they're not allowed to play sports. Yeah so there's this sort of loophole there and it's fascinating because he's girls ripped and they're they're dedicated the most fascinating purse skateboarding. Right now is the females like it's fascinating because it reminds me sing like exponential their so core. They're just trying to rip. I just saw I was at a. "I'm gonna try it like what i'm fascinated by the fact that the the most Impossible things to achieve. You actually have the least amount of competition because so few people even attempt to so it's like it's like no one else was calling. That is my guess and just just going like what. I'm gonna lose a minute in what in. what are they gonna say no. I don't have shorts. They say no thanks. That was that was the attitude for sure to lose. Yeah but it's like that is such a is such a fascinating component. I think too like winners going like. Oh yeah one more note. What's one more note today. I mean literally how. I've got my careers like i just have such a high tolerance for the word. No when i hear. No i have this weird king that it's like well one no closer to yes. "If you knew about anyone can have got a request to wish jesse martinez birthday. Oh sweet which was kind of weird. That is why did you. Did you ever skate around him. Like did you ever go down to venice that A couple of times. But i he was on the bones brigade for holiday. But we'll say you'll like this. My door when i was twelve sponsored by dog was covered in this sticker right here door to my bedroom and i beg my parents to keep that door we move. I wouldn't do it. What what happens in your brain when you see these It takes me back for sure. Okay i have a good story. I my dad used to give me A dollar for drinks at the skate park right. I got a dollar and these were a quarter. And so i bought a drink and to going six so excited to saw thirsty. Because i want going like going with san diego and that's who i wanted to be sponsored by. You know it's funny. I never actually did ride for him. and then tracker was my sponsor for like ten years Kevin sent me that. Because i couldn't find it. It's impossible from ninety. No but i was like hey al by like hey man. This is a long shot. But do you. Maybe sticker kevin kevin's the guy that has everything that's also and he does not allude to that hoe because he was like. Yeah i got it and it was at my house like soon. No he's got anything. You have here that you're excited about got a pack of them like. Oh that's exciting. Doesn't know yeah. He just doesn't he never wants to go through him. A gold mine. You have like you have an ebay store. Yeah yeah do you have that insured. I mean you also know. You find like part of kevin style you know specifically like like cool and do you find when new like young graphics people come in. You're like this is not what we're doing. Do you get like like visuals wise. I let our team decide you. Everything their aesthetics. We're not trying to have like a comprehensive theme or anything not usually so it's just like hey that's what you wanna do. Let's do it. I find myself being like. I want this to look like it was made in the nineties and we just found it You know. I thought this is really cool to yeah. That's lift That is Jim phillips did not create that out of his brain necessarily. It's a very famous like a nineteen thirties illustrated. They got a lot of stuff from like the bat wings. And the kendall science guy saw this guy named virgil finlay who died in like nineteen thirty five. Who was a super genius..

I need to talk myself sometimes. I like if. I don't do a joke the way that i am capable of or whatever and then i feel like shit for two days because you can't really correct it until you've you can't feel good about yourself again in my case unless you get up on stage and kill again so you're just feel like shit until you can get on stage again well to you. My my thought process. It is very similar to that. Is that when. I'm trying something over and over and i just get stuck in a rut and i'm falling and then do and what i call the walk of shame fall and then i walk around the ram i climb stairs or i go again and then at some point. I'm like i'm not climbing these fucking stairs that's it and then my motivation is not again. There's nothing to escape morning at this point fucking stairs don't wanna stairs again and i make it. This is this is only like i wanna stop having to do like the stairmaster authority to like. I'm tired of wasting my friends. Time for him filming. "Are we rolling. I just roll on. This are top andrew. I have some things to say okay. Fine first of all we are. We have tony hawk on the show. Today as you can tell by my vintage thrasher shirt. I can't even i. my my. My my stutters gotten worse. I got older on the show as you can tell them. My speech impediment stuttering a lot around weight with ali to i was gonna say something inappropriate about a man laying on me and i'm not going to anymore. I couldn't even think of the name of it was called. Who stuttering taught banter. Okay but i just wanted everyone to know. I am absolutely pandering to whoever's watching this. This is my favorite thrasher sweatshirt That i'm obsessed with it. And i was going to wear it for the interview and then i chickened out and got embarrassed because like kind of loser. Here's my likud. If it look the same kind of talks about it now. And i even bought a pair of vintage air walks to wear to pretend that i i mean i do fully by costumes to wear when certain guests come in and then i like what kind of lose her shoes bought and then and then. "Get some joining me now first class. Father tony hawk. Welcome back to first glance. Fatherhood nick you yeah. It's awesome to have you here again. I don't think it had anymore. Since the last time we spoke. How old are the kids now. How he doing yes There there are no more to be had. Let's put it that way. How old are they. They're twenty eight twenty two twenty two nineteen eighteen and twelve man. Yeah that that that's good stuff. And the last time we spoke you had just posted. The video of your daughter overcoming. Her fear of the skateboard. That video obviously went went viral. How is she doing now. House progress been on the skateboard. She's still doing good. She's kind of gotten out of skating in the last couple on last year or so mostly because none of her friends were skating and so it was just the thing that we did together. And it's got to be that she wanted you know. She wanted to join what what the sports that her friends were doing. So she started up in lacrosse. And that's been great because she's really she's enjoyed it. She starting to a lot better at it and she likes the community and it was funny. She and i basically learned to throw and catch the ball together and then once she joined a team she got exceedingly better than me at it. Yeah that's one of those games. That i really don't know much about i enjoy watching it. I just never was involved in it as a kid. So i'm not too familiar with it. And what would you consider to be. Totally the top values that you hope to instill in all your kids growing up oh I think having accountability and being responsible. And i mean you know it's all it all seems cliche but making making good choices that have nothing else. That's what i hope that. I've led them by example with is making good choices and Them to also take for themselves. You know to do not just be so focused on work or on On goals and two to goof around. I mean you know as silly as that sounds that keeps your mental health. So much in check with them. I mean that's that's what i try to. That's usually where i find my balance is just kinda doing doing stuff with them. You know however however playful or or what seems like a waste of time to have time with them is never a waste of time. Yeah well said sony. And on that i know a lot of the things i ask a lot of the elite elite athletes that come on the show here as son myself you know. We always seek that approval from our dad. We want our dad to be proud of all spring. We look up to to have a dad. That's tony hawk. That's a lot to live up to. It can be overwhelming especially for your son's. Did you ever feel that kind of pressure. Obviously riley had his skateboarding. Career was great in his own right. But do you ever feel that pressure from your kids growing up. And how'd you kind of navigate that to make sure that they didn't feel that pressure. Yeah i think that it was more more an issue with my oldest son because he chose to be a pro skateboarder and so there was always that sort of shadow looming an expectation of but he managed to really take it in his own direction and do a style of skating. That i don't do and and find an audience of people that weren't necessarily just because they they were fans of mine and the other kids I think that they understand that but but they just enjoy skating. They just enjoy having fun with it. So it's not. It's not that they feel like. Oh i've got a live up something and the funny thing is they're all really good at it in their own way and they all have their own style in the all their own crew and a lotta that crew does not include me. So when they're out skating like they don't want they don't want me hanging around. I'm just like i'm the data the party or something. Well it's gotta be cool for you to look down and see them doing it in your own right. It's gotta be pretty cool. And then one thing i talk about on my podcast lot. Tony is the fatherless crisis that we have going on we got so many kids growing up without a father or father figure in their life. And it's having a devastating result on our society and one of the major reasons given for this is divorced. Dads get pushed out through the divorce process. You've been through this and you have a great co-parenting situation going on what a blended family. So what kind of advice do you have a data out there. Who maybe just on the onset of the divorce A co-parenting situation in a blended family. I my best advice is just to stay present. Don't give up and you got you. Sometimes you gotta fight for it and sometimes you can't just leave it up to your kids. Necessarily what do you wanna do you know what about what about next wednesday. It's just like set schedule and stick to it. Because i've noticed that especially with with my youngest that i if i'm just leaving the decisions to her schedule she's she's not going to choose necessarily stuff that we're going to do together or to to be with me and but she needs that sort of That schedule and that consistency. And so that's the best. I have is just to stay consistent with the be ready. Be present and push through the The challenges of of what seems like elements. That aren't knocking on. Allow you to be with them. Because you've got you've got to keep you gotta keep treading water. Gotta stay stay with them and Yeah that's about it. I mean it's all it's worth the effort that's my bottom line and sometimes it seems like it's just uphill battle all the time to to make time or two to get a schedule going and you just gotta find stick with it. And and that's what. I've learned through Through these this crazy year. We've had because my schedule was finally much more consistent in terms of travel.

Vicarious Visions reportedly working on a Diablo 2 remake at Blizzard
"For me. The story of the week is vicarious visions rolled in spink succumb to the blizzard. Avalanche of the blizzard ebay. They need to plow basically. They need good that name again. It's fist blow to dig them out Most recently they made tony hawk one and two which i rave about last year absolutely phenomenal Release of those games. Did the crash release as well and i just outstanding studio. In my opinion. I think track record of just hits in working on some great games in now Based on the press release that came out it appears as if they are going to be a support studio for the larger blizzard instead of like. Hey go make a new ip or go work on this franchisor or elite on this they. It seems like we'll be one of the many studios you see as you're waiting to get to the title screen of a gay or when the credits are rolling. You're like how many people worked on this in support of i blizzard game. So i guess diablo's or unannounced Helping ship overwatch to maybe. But it's kind of a bummer. I think that team seem super talented. And it this seems kind of unceremonious to me. Well the rumor is that vicarious visions has been working on a diablo to re master for quite a while and that blizzard was so dissatisfied with the warcraft. Three re master which received a lot of hype and was Was a disappointment. i think. I think there's only one way to describe it. It was a disappointment to fans. It was a disappointment to the studio when it released it. Had a bunch of problems and I think they the rumor is that they wanted to date. Being blizzard. wanted to avoid a repeat of that kind of scenario and we're using vicarious visions to work on the diablo two remastered which is unannounced. Chat is saying remake is what they're polite yes. Pardon me remake. These terms should be precise and i. It's my mistake for nelson. Hasn't been out so we don't really know i mean with warcraft. Three was a master. S diablo to remake would be pretty exciting but yes supposedly that was handed over to the four-team and then than they brought in vicarious visions to offload that work as work on the before ramped up and They're they're calling it. Diablo two resurrected all again all of this rumor. But if that's the case super excited obviously victorious visions. Very good at these kinds of remakes. These kinds of taking old games and making them look gorgeous on modern technology so as a huge fan of the oslo to very excited about that prospect. Be i get what you're saying christian about it. Being a bit of a bummer. To to hear that they will no longer be the lead developer on any kind of game creation. Rob you Inside a developer. All the time what. What is your your take on. This is the kind of thing that would be disheartening to a group to to visions themselves or do they see it as potentially an opportunity to probably a little bit of both The thing that bums me out. The most is sort of losing vicarious visions v as it's colloquially known in the games industry as as a brand like air studio that has a very long history. They've been around for a very long time. One of the few coast studios in albany new york which is rare So them to sort of lose their identity and just become you know a blizzard new yorker or whatever blizzard east Is just a bummer. Just from just from a name standpoint It does. I mean they do good work though so i think ultimately for the security of the people working the studio is probably a good thing it ensures longevity that those people will have jobs and projects at work on whether or not. It's the projects that those folks were hoping to work on if they were developing internally typically studios are always trying to develop things internally especially smaller studios sports support studios. They wanna like make their own. Ap eventually that's probably the goal of every studio. Imagine sure and so losing that for now. is probably. There's probably some stink to it. But i would also say like if they continue to prove themselves doing this. There's no reason why. I wouldn't think that they might be handed. Something in the future that may be as a blizzard. Ip and maybe they make a new game with one of those ip's

"That's a good thing, and then obviously you can earn money, which then allows you to buy things in the skate shop, which is everything from different skateboards to a payroll things like that, and it's a way to customize characters and you can pick your different skaters. Yes like that. So I I think it's good. Have you created your own skater yet you probably haven't had time to do that I. Have It. I have not. My my eight year old has his skater started, and that's the thing you you level up your skaters as you go through The way the progression works as you you start off with level, you have all these different goals for it, and then you complete those goals and then that you locked other levels right and you'll have to unlock, you don't have to unlock all the goals in order to unlock new levels. He's will have to earn amount but that that's how you do it on each level at least in. The. Tony Hawk I I think all the levels have this. There's stat points that you can get that you can gain by doing tricks or or or grabbing the like on, and you can assign those stat points to year skater. To increase their their air vert their manual spe-, balance their grind balance, their lip trick balance et Cetera. At the spin such to `Ali. All of that kick the flips you know the the I look. All that stuff Anyway. you can go through the levels in, collect those for all your skaters and level up to to make them better. My son has his skater. It doesn't really look like him. I have my skater that. I bought some new boards customized them. He has really puffy hair like I have right now he's got he's got a black face mask on and my son was like eat if you. If if you can make that character. Much older, it would look exactly like you like thanks man thanks son he's like and if you can put glasses on him. Well. Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah. I'll have to see if there's a bald.
Prince of Persia Remake Graphics Already Look Much Better in Updated Screenshot
"Of Persia is back. The sands of time is getting remade. Now, this is not just a re master with a resing. It's actual using the term remake and they showed off a new trailer. It's coming to PC playstation four and xbox one on January. Twenty. First Twenty twenty one. What did you think of the trailer Tricia I I should ask you, I guess, play the original game in and so did you like it? I never owned the original game. So I was around while other people were playing Rachel Cam. And I enjoyed watching the bits that I watched, but it doesn't have the same nostalgic residents with me that I feel like it does with other people. I kind of had a similar a similar reaction to think. What I was the majority in chat watching it live, which is you know these graphics look two generations ago in this supposed to come to next gen consoles what Gibbs but I'm curious to ask you guys if either of you did play the original to a great extent did the graphics feel reminiscent of the original and maybe that's why that artistic choice was made. Certainly. I mean it looks as so many of these remakes do except for the ones that are really go for it but so many of these games. It looks like I remember the game looking you know because. In my head, it looked like that and then you go back and you screen shots like Oh, God? No, it didn't look anything like that. They've done a lot of work on this but in your head you're like Oh. Yeah. That looks like. The time which is a game I absolutely loved at the time and I'm kind of excited a replay it. Christian. How about you are you disappointed by the look of this remake or did you did you play the game with? What's your feelings played? It loved it. All of them I play them on. Game. Cube Big Fan of that of that series even the dark middle chapter with bangs in his is I could I got behind it. You know we were both listening the Thursday at the same time you're. Screaming our way through time travel. I am not excited about this remake I I want a new Prince of Persia for whatever reason replaying this game doesn't seem exciting to me I. think some games like Halo where the combat is a little bit more of a sandbox are a little more enticing. To combat to have been I don't know evolved. More needs to be a mortal colon writing for me to get. Yeah I don't know. That's the thing. If maybe they gave it like that man combat combat in the originals was good but I think third person action combat is kind of moved past that. Now I'm not I'm not super excited about I want a one a new game in the franchise in this race gets us that is this would breathe this. This game is remake doing well, does that get us the new game? The Franchise? Is this a stopgap to the game in the franchise? That's two years out. It may very well be but I I hope I'm wrong than if that's the case but I don't think this game will do particularly well, because while I, do think it looks kind of like how I remember the original looking. You know this is going to be coming out a few months after the new consoles are out and we're seeing spider man miles morales, and we're seeing maybe ray tracing on ratchet and clank in we're seeing other. UBISOFT. Know involve Hala and some of these other games that they're doing and I don't think people are going to be super excited about this remake coming out in January, which is a little bit of a weird time. Ano- Capcom has had some success with that date before to. Remix with remakes but those were bigger like after seeing that style of remake if it's not Tony Hawk purse gator one to a resident evil two I have a hard time getting out of bed for it. You know like We've been spoiled by incredible incredible remakes lately, and from what I saw of this Prince of Persia Sands of time remake doesn't seem to be at that caliber in my opinion.
All the biggest announcements from Ubisoft's Forward event
"Forward was yesterday a bunch of stuff got announced. We want to give you a recap of it. immortals. Phoenix rising was revealed of course, gods and monsters re renamed redone. It's covering the December third I. It's coming to deep breath playstation for playstation five, xbox one series series s switch PC. An Stadia on December third stadium however is getting demo before launched that'll be exclusive. Stadia it'll be a unique island. It's coming sometime later this year before December third busing you liked what you play this game yeah. No I enjoyed it like I've said this before, but it's basically you be Saas version breath wild and I think that very much shows each and every way where you have so many of the mechanics and ideas from breath while the climbing and like the the they have a shrine Like replacement in in Gaza and immortals Phoenix rising, they have the open world that is filled with puzzles and all this stuff play lot somewhere at ease. But then also if you'll. If. You'll structured like a Yousof game and I was actually talking to my roommate Michael about this last night. But he was very much like seems like breath breathalyzer came out and it it copied a lot of what you saw is doing and we saw Admiral Hey we can be. Doing I feel like that's a pretty apt way to put it almost when you look at the towers and stuff breath wild. Stuff manifest this. Game though has me excited. For I'm. Coming to next Gen, I think is exciting. I N necessarily expected not to, but this plus came out in. February and so I think I had the question of all right what does this release look like and so that's an exciting thing I. wonder if it looks better, I wonder how I wonder what the differences between the two skews It also coming to switch is really exciting because I was thinking they revealed that surprise me you know especially with the breadth of wild similarities that coming to switch I think is going to be interesting for that audience to see how people will take to it whether people flocked to order people are put off to put off by it. I. My my thing in this isn't me knocking it right breath. The wild part of that game I thought was the journey across the island and making it feel like you're making big steps watching What we saw last night from Phoenix rising. It seemed like traversing the island in getting around seemed quicker. Is that an apt description or is that just what made to look like? I think that's apt but I also wonder how late in the game that is because when I jumped in halfway through I, wonder if we're at the beginning of the game, does heal a lot slower because that is my thing with breath to you a breath breath the wild. One. Of The wild one. Breath wild felt like one of the biggest open world games I played even though it probably like in scale of the map, it probably isn't as like it probably isn't that big you know in reality but the way in which they approach like that journey aspect of it makes it feel like it's huge near exploring all these different things in that like you know you really feel like you're going. Through journey because you're kind of exploring that world slowly and meticulously, and you know, they give you the the paraglider thing early in the game breath wild Ryan so like they give you some of those those those tools to explorer in like go through the island quicker. But even even with that Econo, still feel like you're tracking few and You know really getting everything out of the map. Immoral Phoenix rising when I was playing did feel a bit like quicker and did feel be onto the next thing right? You feel like you are going to the next class breath while didn't really have A. The has system, but it's not as traditional and strict as. A. Lot of other similar open World Games try immoral Phoenix rising does seem to have a quest system that is a bit stricter in terms of, hey, go do this thing called the next question? Do this thing called? The next. Which? I think a lot of people who may not have liked breath wild for that are going to like a moral phoenix rising for its structure. But I think that also means that you might be exploring this game at a particular pace is probably going to be a bit quicker. I don't think it is going to be the man. What is this? What we're here I'M GONNA I'M GONNA check this out like this who unique thing that you've never seen before that that that blows your mind I don't know how those moments you're gonna get but you are going to have like open world puzzles and things that are discoverable just maybe not on the level of breath. Wow. Okay I had zero hype for this game and then washing shows like Oh shit I'd like to play that and I think December's time for to after like the run to black Friday new consoles or out every starting to chill and settle for the holidays. This seems like a game I play in Madame. On top of that, then prison persia the sands of time remake was announced coming January twenty first. Every of the current generation no Nexgen for it your Yuri Lowenthal is back. That's right. Spiderman of self animal prints the original prints from Principia. Exciting for that. Looking forward to playing that I said, every said current is it switched to I don't think I actually did I miss that I'm not sure I. Can you thank you very much check on that hyperscale got a little shoutout it's still free. They showed some stuff I didn't pay attention Rainbow six siege world got something there. But I in the Rainbow six siege way you off on twitter pointed out Upgrade Rainbow six siege. To Jen Councils at no additional cost in play in one hundred and twenty frames per second at four K.. Then, Scott Pilgrim vs the world. The game complete edition was announced. That's coming holiday twenty twenty as well washed. Prime showing WHO's the rapper whose in it? And Watch. Storms he they showed him getting more captive for his rap session. They reiterated October twenty ninth as a release date in the announced that aiden pierce the of protagonist from the originals watchdogs will be part of the season pass. You can get there if you want there is. One Prince Persia knock coming to switch it was. The XBOX IN PS four xbox and PS four. Yeah and then to I would like to apologize to date appears fans I. During the Stream I very much. That hey, nobody's a fan of aiden pierce nobody cares about eating peers. there. Weren't even that many wash dogs. One fans etcetera etcetera. And, yeah, the in Pierce Fans showed up in my mentions let me know they. Let me know they exist inside out here out here issue I like to issue a public apology to every eight and peers fan i. see you I hear you I understand that you exist in frantic. Now, frame did not pop out. There is going to be another ubisoft forward in the coming months. But before then before the end there, one more thing was writers republic Again, from the people who made steep this giant multiplayer online game, you're all doing outdoor shit like riding bikes and snowboarding and jumping off crap and doing races is coming February twenty fifth twenty, twenty one and gamespot reports even though that's after the launch of the. Series x? US. Offering free upgrades from PS four and xbox one versions to their respective next Gen versions, which is a very nice move on their part. Hopefully, they're committed to this. Yeah. Talk about this because you tim immediately lit up for this one and I mean, we started reading twitter. Yeah. I don't know exactly what it is about this game I don't know if there's one thing about this game rows like this me this is what I need but like the more and more they show during that trailer because it was it was a long trailer, the more and Morales like. No. Yeah. This seems like it has a fun like it seems like a fun combination of quite a few ubisoft games. Right has a lot of steep in. It seems like it has some trials in it even seems like it has some far cry in it. When you look at the world and you look at the some of the colors you see an almost has like some rage in it all. You know when you look at when you look at the colors i. I want to know more about what structure of the game is like. Is it battery Al is a like fog is, is it just you're doing a bunch of different activities that that scale based on how many players? There are ten players to thirty whatever I'm more curious about that. But from the stuff they show they show a game that was very similar to graffiti from Tony Hawk. Where graffiti is the game where like it's a multiplayer game where if you do a trick on a ramp or like on a grind or whatever yellow then color that the ramp or or the grind your color, and you are essentially doing as matrix all over the map as you can in order to take over the map versus your opponent almost kind of platoon ish in a way. They showed a game battle is very much that we've made me go. Oh, snap. All right. This seems like it has a lot in in terms of the different, the different ways in which you can have fun. So all about it looks cool. It looks like it's going to grow over time I'm surprised it's coming out so soon.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater renames the mute grab to honor deaf skater who created it
"Tony Hawkes pro skater one plus to Rene renames a move to honor its creator this from Wesley Leblanc at Aegean. Tony Hawkes Pro Skater oneplus to include a classic trick with a new name in honor of the tricks. Original Creator skateboarders in fans of the Tony Hawk series are likely well aware of what immune air or grab is. But when many might not know the history of the tricks name Tony Hawk instagram to announce that in the upcoming Tony Hawk Pro Skater Oneplus to re master, the chick will have a new name quote for nearly forty years. We've shamelessly referred to this trick as the mute air slash grab. Hawk. Said on his instagram today he continues here is the backstory around Nineteen eighty-one, a deaf skater. A Skater in Colin Escape Park local named Chris, Wendell. Was a prominent amateur on the competition circuit. The indy air had just been created and named. Proposed that grabbing the grabbing with the front hand should be known as the tracker air. Hock explained that because what'll was the first do that trick the trick should be named after him what was often referred to as quiet guy. Hawk said. So air was made admitted that he and the other skaters went along with the name in Navy not realizing that Weddell might not have agreed with the name toe in recent years a few people reached out to Chris who still skates about this trick and the name it was given Hawk said. He's been very gracious in his response, but it is obvious that different name would have honored his legacy as he is hearing impaired but not lacking speech I assume last year as I was diving into trick origins and he said he would rather he would have rather named it the deaf or when grab if given the choice and quote Hawk said the Weddell the whittles exact words were quote I am Deaf Not Mute and quote when players when players Buddha Tony Hawk pro skater one plus to find that the trick is now called the widow grab.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 remaster gets 37 new songs
"Its announcement. The fine print on the Tony Hawkes pro skater wanted to remake was that it would include most of the music from the original games. Reading between the lines that means that not all the songs that have become forever connected to those games would be showing up, but it sounds like at least a few of the songs that were not going to make it into the game have now been inserted

"I would say from the years of eighty six to eighty nine. Maybe even lighting ninety skating was much more popular than it had ever been in the past, and there were a lot of big competitions. And I would say in the years leading up to the X. Games probably closer to ninety two to ninety four. All those competitions rejoining up, so there were hardly any competitions and relatively no vert events. In the years before that X. Games nineteen, ninety-three, Nineteen ninety-four. You decided to take some time off after being on top of the sport walked away for a little bit. Your expectations like for coming back. I never walked away from skateboarding just stopped competing for the most part. It felt like you were excuse the Pun just spinning your wheels going to the events because there was no future in that aspect of skating. So I focused my efforts on starting escape company, and then when the X. Games came around, I felt like I was still top of my game, and when they said they're going to have averted that pose like that's my jam. Let's do it. Get ready to jump on board. The half pipe will be your arena a place where success is judged by acceptance, each movement is celebrate the individual spirit artistry and control. It's an opportunity to redefine the way we look at sports. Bad. Welcome, to the fullest extremes along with suzy. Call I'm Chris Fowler we are just what we're expectations like in your world for the event. It was very mixed I. Think people were confused with why we were grouped together with such different sports like rock climbing like bungee jumping. We are ready for the first three jumps in the final event of this extreme games bungee jumping competition the backward descent this is. Those things never really connected to skateboarding in as far as we were concerned, but there was enough support, and there was definite attitude among people like me where it was like. Hey, we're filing a beyond TV. I thought I was concerned. Backing off from competition, and and the spotlight, so to speak, and thrust me straight back in what things in perspective Tony Hawk is like the Michael Jordan of skateboarding dislike Jordan Tony Hawk retire from the sport he had nothing left to prove. He felt after twelve straight overall pro titles, but life without competition didn't suit Hawk any better than it did Jorde. The idea that this was giving us airtime and a venue to show off what we do. That was now as it. You know for me. That was the foundation of wanting to do that, and so I felt like even though we didn't know what was going to happen with it. I've felt like skateboarding was gonNA shine through all of the noise because people are. GonNa see that we've been doing this for a long time. Skating is more refined and has evolved, and maybe some of these other sports aren't here to last night. Tony Hawk. The extreme games read. What is your fondest memory of that first games? Then my dad got to see it. My Dad was always a big advocate for skating and skate events and he passed away later that year. I never thought that I would see the day where he saw skateboarding fiene. I mean for him. He was all about sticking ball sports, too. So for him to see skateboarding, SORTA come of age and be accepted on a level like that was was used to him I mean for if nothing else was validation for him supporting the all those years in. And there's champion at the extreme games. Take your champion for all. State morning Sony, on. Four years later. At the Nine X. Games in San Francisco. You were part of what's seen as perhaps the most memorable X. Games moment of time when you ended the first ever nine hundred and skateboarding, which is two and a half full spins on half pipe. What was the series of events that led you to even attempting it? Well firstly I didn't plan on the tempting at the night. I had tried it many hundreds of times. Of Ten years off and on and gotten pretty close gotten hurt a couple of times and had tried it in previous best events as well. and. Basically just kind of gave up on it. X. Games five and San. Francisco thousands of screaming fans have waited a long time. Other skaters have had their moments, but this has really become personal quest for Tony Hawk. The mass of the has beaten himself up doing for a decade, the nine hundred. It's debatable. Some people say that. Dave Duncan, who was announcing at the time was the one who sort of egging me on like tomorrow. Let's see that nine hundred Tony Hawkes. He's. With you. I don't think I can do it because I've spent years chasing it, but why not do it for the crowd? I mean that was kind of my attitude like I'll show the crowd. It looks like. After about my third or fourth attempts, something clicked because my spin was was consistent, which had never happened before it every other time that I had tried it, so I had no real consistent approach that I can think of would land it. Something about ramp and my skating day was making a consistent, and suddenly I found myself seeing the land zone, which is rare. That's when I decided that. I just try to make it went on. I tried to make one a full forward. which is exactly what I did? A couple years prior at broke my rib. But I came up standing I didn't get hurt and I thought. Wow, maybe if I can lean back a little bit as I spin, that will alleviate this. Ford falling thing and then I did that and I felt backwards. Long. And that was when everything clicks because I thought. Okay at fold forward foam backwards split the difference and made the next one..

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick: Games Are Not a Platform for My Political Views
"Bobby Kotik says we're not the operator of the world's townhalls from an interview on CNBC that he gave few days ago. He's not wrong. They are the I would not want him to operate town halls. They are the operator of sick beards though yes mustache is really yeah This is this was all in service of him. Basically saying that he doesn't think that activision games should be a platform for political views wall. Well then why did they make Cooley call. Yeah call of duty is a pretty notable when you were able to jump over all the the magic bomb. Tom In Tony Hawk to they made their political stand. Unwitting commentary on class struggle. I mean seriously though you look at the most recent call of duty look at that shit they Like changing war-crimes from America to Russia and the other end of the spectrum from look at what the we've talked about this before with overwatch but like you know making a big deal of this character is gay and then like skins to hopefully in. Yeah so is this Bobby Bobby Codex hanging like us. Shut it down representation by this is Bobby Kotik saying I'm here to stop thinking. Stop thinking about taxes taxes about progress. Everything's I think. Meyer Video Games. Turn off your brain. Yeah Bobby Codex says back back in my day video games were fun day. There is something about fun. Is there another quote from him. That's just the operator communities that allow you to have fun through the Lens of video game is the other end of that quote. I can't have you politics at the same time. Also that yeah my brain would explode. Political Fund is neither. You know what I'm saying scalise you've been stores now. I mean there are some other quotes there about my responsibility to make sure there are communities feel safe secure comfortable and satisfied entertained that doesn't convey to me the right to have a platform for a lot of political of us. The right certainly like no. No we're talking about rights here now. activision division as a private company is under the same way that we can ban people off our message. Boards like of course activists there's under no obligation to like have free speech. I mean it's they banned people using swastika icons from call of duty when they had the in the years when they have a custom emblem editors and such. If you make that Shit you get banned. I guess they are. They moderate their community. There's no illusion of free speech. It's not about that. When people say all art is political what that means is like actively choosing to ignore politics is enforcing the status quo which is inherently taking a side like? It's like don't question things like there's no politics on chill yeah official stance like I'm not looking for every activision blizzard game to have a deep message about politics politics knowledge like I feel like it's it's not an honest argument. That people are having when they when they say shit like this. I think anyone with with half a brain looking at this stuff like Oh yeah. There's yes that makes sense. There are things you would identify as political in these games but but they don't want to have to sit there and back it up or justify it or or say whether they're still or try to say the bobby agrees or disagrees with the messages as of any given game. Yeah he doesn't want to have to be put in that position so it's a lot easier to say like oh well we don't you know we're just telling stories here.
$260 Million Opioid Settlement Reached at Last Minute With Big Drug Companies
"In fact the past couple of days there been some major lawsuits that have been settled all these opioid distributors and manufacturers are under the gun because a lot of states felt that they over and I don't say over simplified they oversold the a fax and the fact that these wouldn't be pills that would cause addiction right so they're holding them responsible there was just a almost a half billion dollars settlement in Ohio recently with these drug manufacturers nay they think now this is what they're going to do the kind of gonna do the tobacco bit with the gonna go in there and start settling these lawsuits so they don't end up like the tobacco industry on the hook for fifteen billion dollars right so they're doing that in in various states you can start see a lot of those but it's the whole crisis in general do you remember the skateboarder Tony hawk tests Tony hawk who's now fifty one her school he was talking about how he was personally affected by the opioid crisis and he had injured himself doing skating moves and he was prescribed some opioids however whatever prescribed pain pills and he said I got past the injury he said but I got I kept taking the pills after the injury after he injures well gone he said it just kind of made me check out and he said maybe that was just where I was supposed to be in life he said but after like two weeks I'm like whoa what am I doing I should be taking these things right and he said I threw him out he said because you know I got into it he said I could easily see how people would be would in have get think they get addicted to these things so do you hear that from an athlete like Tony hawk and I know people say he was a skateboarder ever seen is moves on my gosh did was incredible I mean they're amazing super athlete yeah it truly truly is and still
