"Election deniers who backed Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election failed in some of their highest profile races I'm Ben Thomas with a look Pennsylvania Michigan and Wisconsin went for President Biden in 2020 In 2022 the Republican nominees for governor in those swing states all repeated Donald Trump's false claims that the presidential election had been stolen in all three of those candidates lost after winning reelection Wisconsin governor Tony Evers the Democrat told his supporters you showed up because you saw our democracy was on a brink of existence and he decided to do a damn thing about it That means the GOP won't be able to change the way elections are administered in Wisconsin but nearly a third of the 85 Republican candidates for governor Secretary of State and attorney general embrace Trump's efforts to overturn his 2020 loss about half one and in two key states Arizona and Nevada races for top posts remain too close to call Republican candidate for Arizona governor Carrie Lake telling her supporters on election night We had a big day today and don't let those cheaters and crooks think anything different I'm Ben Thomas

"Speaking of electorally, there's a glitter of hope you retweeted that chuck grassley's and it's statistical tie. Someone tweeted, I was gonna go blue, blue tsunami incoming and you just said, hello. Yeah, I mean, yeah, this is a race that nobody's noticed. Right. Right. And you know, I wonder, the guy who's running against, by the way, his name, Mike Franken. Yeah. And I'm wondering how many people in Iowa think they're voting for Al Franken. That's fine. You know, seriously. And it's life and death for old chuck and he's not, you know, he's built for comforting and built for speed. He's not built for the home stretch right now. Yeah. So who knows? I mean, I mean, I think you're going to, I think what you are going to see is a lot of split ticket voters. Yeah. Yeah. For example, I think in Iowa, Kim Reynolds is probably going to get reelected governor. But grassley could lose. Yeah. Whitmer's going to win. You know, I think the democratic gubernatorial candidates are in great shape. Do you? I hope so. Tony Evers in Wisconsin, I'm sending novena upwards for, but I think a lot of them, I think a lot of them are going to survive more Healy's going to win, you know, from here or there in Massachusetts, not the typical of anything. Right. Right. But you know, I guess it is astounding that statistical speaking of statistical ties, Herschel Walker. Has gone up despite all these allegations. I don't believe any of the polling out of Georgia. I really don't. Nobody's been able to predict Georgia correctly for about ten years now. Yeah. I think that there's a whopping big vote down there who doesn't want to be represented in Congress by, you know, inarticulate doof.

"Hey, I'm usually listening to you on the devil's advocates, but I'm driving through Chicago and let things view WCC today. Cool. Just some news from Wisconsin. You know, there's two really, really close races for governor and for senator. And I encourage everybody to watch the debate. Just to see just how extreme the Republican candidates are. And Tim Michael, it becomes very apparent that he literally wants to take us back or at least women back to 1849 and that abortion law. And also when he was discussing the idea of revenue sharing and how to support police departments and infrastructure and whatnot. Tony Evers was talking percentage points and Tim Michael's didn't seem to even understand what revenue sharing was. He was following in the footsteps of Trump and other fascists using the same old thing where just trust me, I know what I'm doing. I ran a business. For those among us who don't know what revenue sharing is, or at least in the context of Wisconsin law and policy. Can you tell us? Yeah, it's basically the money that you give to the feds and you get to the state and then it gets turned back. And so this is the United States chip in and red states take out. That's the way I understand it. And so they were talking about the funding the police and whatnot. And it's only ever is saying, well, the first thing you do is to get more money back into back into the hands of municipalities and districts. And he was saying, you know, you know, my last term, I suggested we go to 4% in the back on revenue sharing. Glossing it over, not even saying what it was. He basically said, trust me, I know what I'm doing. And I think the most ironic point of the entire debate was that Tim Michaels who was basically a billionaire from another state was complaining about billionaires from other states affecting elections. He was talking about Zucker Zucker box and stuff like that. Highly deaf people watch those debates and it's really

"You're with WTF 19 lane. At four 51. Campaign 2022 on WTO, this early morning two wins for former president Donald Trump came in late last night in the latest primary elections just about a day after his Florida estate was searched by the FBI. One victory is in Wisconsin this morning, another Minnesota. Let's go to political junkie podcast host, Kidd rudin, this early morning two has run political coverage for ABC News and NPR. Good morning sir. Good morning, dean. Let's start in Wisconsin where the wealthy construction executive Tim Michaels backed by Donald Trump has won the Republican nomination for governor. He'll challenge Democrat Tony Evers in the fall. Why do you think this guy Michaels had that win over the candidate backed by Mike Pence in the entire Wisconsin Republican establishment? Well, this is exactly what happened last week in Arizona when the Republican governor and Mike Pence back the Republican candidate for governor and Donald Trump came in late and back another person who won. Tim Michaels was not expected to win a couple of months ago, Rebecca clayfish was clearly the FrontRunner. If you had the establishment backing, but a combination of Trump's endorsement, which did make a big difference in Wisconsin and the fact that Michael spent $10 million on his campaign that doesn't hurt either, really put him over the top. Now let's hop over to the Minnesota this morning where we don't usually pay that much attention to Secretary of State races, but we sure are this year. Kim Crockett has won the Republican Secretary of State primary making her the latest GOP candidate who has lied about the 2020 election to win the party's nomination to become a state's top election official. She's called the 2020 election rigged and illegitimate. Can you talk this morning just for a few seconds about this particular race? And then about the growing number of such candidates could some do you think win this wall? Well, it depends on the state, of course, but you're absolutely right that she is not the only person who weighs been nominated by the Republican Party who has claimed that the 2020 election was a fraud. So this candidate in Minnesota joins other candidates around the country and it's a little frightening because these are the people who may very well decide how the votes are counted in 2022 and 2024. And if that's the case and if the elections don't go their way, there could be some kind of foul play that will make 2020 look like just a walk in the park. Okay, let's move up to Connecticut this early morning. Leora levy has won the Republican nomination there for Senate to challenge Democrat Richard blumenthal. While the GOP has not won in decades, it keeps trying in this seat. Anything to see here? Yeah, no, no, not at all, actually. But the Senate race with a Senate race in Connecticut, Richard blumenthal is a clear favorite to beat the Republican candidate in November. The gubernatorial race will be tough though because governor Ned Lamont, the Democrat is having a rematch with bob stefanowski, the Republican, they ran a very close race against each other in 2018. And stephanos back for more in 2022. That's the definition of race to watch in what usually is overwhelmingly democratic Connecticut. Quickly, we have a little time left. What are a couple of more races that came together you think last night that you'd have us pay attention to going into November? Well, first of all, one thing I just want to say that in Wisconsin and I Robin vos, who the speaker of the assembly, his opponent was endorsed by Donald Trump because pro tip wouldn't work to overturn the numbers in Wisconsin as more strenuously as Trump wanted. So there is a little defeat for Trump there. And one thing I do want to point out in Vermont, Becca balance, he was running for Congress for an open democratic seat. The congressman there pretty Welch is going to run for pat Lee. He's seat in November, the Democrat, but Becca balance won the democratic primary for Congress and Vermont has never elected a woman to Congress at the House or Senate. So there's a little history in the making in Vermont. All right, Sarah on Skype with this sporting political junkie podcast host can rutten, who is run political coverage, rabies news and NPR. Thank you for joining the cis early morning. Thanks, dean. Campaign 2022 continues on WTO, you are listening to auto 3.5 FM and WTO fee dot com. Where the time now Wednesday morning is four 55, we bring you money news at 25 and 55. This is a Bloomberg moneyment that Justice Department has Google in its crosshairs. "The bowls are now closed in all the states holding primaries tonight, Vermont, Connecticut, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. In Wisconsin, lieutenant governor Mandela Barnes is projected to win the democratic nomination for Senate, taking on incumbent Republican Ron Johnson. And joining us live on Skype this evening political junkie podcast host Ken rudin, who has coordinated political coverage of both ABC News and NPR. Welcome back Ken talk about the history here and what you see in this Wisconsin battle now between Mandela Barnes and Ron Johnson Ron Johnson I noticed already sent out a news release calling Barnes radical. Well, he certainly liberal. I don't know how radically he is, but he certainly liberal, and that's what the Republican line is. It'll be about Mandela Barnes. Not only is he lieutenant governor of Wisconsin, but he's also African American. And we've seen a lot of cases of Republicans who are running against African American candidates calling them radicals. So we'll see if that works. The fact is Barnes has already won statewide in Wisconsin. And so voters know him. Ron Johnson, on the other hand, may be the most vulnerable Republican of any Republican seeking reelection this year. It's going to be a tough race. And again, you know, the whoever party winds up winning control of the Senate Wisconsin could go down. It could make it make the difference. And we know over to Wisconsin now construction company co owner Tim Michaels has Trump's endorsement in the governor's race and the established Republicans, including Mike Pence in former governor Scott walker, have endorsed Rebecca clayfish. So how is that looking for all of them? Well, you know, we do mention that Michaels does have Trump's endorsement and he does. Michaels also has close to $10 million that he spent in the primary. He's run once before back in 2004. He ran for the Senate against Russ feingold and back then feingold called him a rubber stamp for president Bush back then that was a day when Republicans didn't win in Wisconsin and now you know they could win the governorship Tony Evers is considered very vulnerable and so we'll see what happens with that, but clay fish does clayfish does have the endorsement as you say of Scott walker and Mike Pence and of course the media loves to set up these pens versus Trump rivalries and conflicts. And of course, if Wisconsin is considered one of those, it may be a good thing for Donald Trump if Michael's wins. Right now it's very, very close, less than half the vote has been counted and Michaels has a slight lead. Now, there are a lot of other directions we could go in and of course it is your choice if you have another thought, but I thought it was very significant that in Vermont, Becca balance could very well become the first woman to serve in Congress from that state ever. Yes, I mean, I'll try to make it fast, but Peter Welch who was the congressman is giving up the seat to run for a pet Leahy Senate seat. Ley he's giving it up after 48 years in the Senate. Ballot won a tough primary. She ran as a true progressive. The two senators of Vermont were against each other Bernie Sanders backed balance and pat Leahy back the Molly gray her opponent. So we'll have a clear advantage over the demo of the Republican nominee Vermont is still a very democratic leading state and he, as you say, could make history in the first woman to be elected to Congress, House or Senate in Vermont. Thanks so much, Ken. We appreciate your analysis. Thank you very much. Again, that was Ken rudin, political junkie podcast host. And still ahead here the Nats are hanging tough

"Dot com today and schedule your free in home estimate. Nice to have you here tonight at 7 ten. And its campaign 2022 on WTO this evening's primary elections in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Connecticut and Vermont come one day after former president Trump's Mar-a-Lago Florida home was searched by the FBI. It sent some Republican strategists scrambling, especially those with a Trump endorsement tonight, some of the election results could be a clear indication of the former president's hold. Joining us live on Skype, political junkie podcast host Ken rudin, who is coordinated political coverage at ABC News and NPR, and Ken, let's begin in Wisconsin, construction company co owner, Tim Michaels, has Trump's endorsement in the governor's race, establishment Republicans, including Mike Pence and former governor Scott walker, have endorsed Rebecca clayfish, but it's important to point out that both candidates have said some things in denial of the 2020 election and Joe Biden's victory. That's absolutely right. A matter of fact, Wisconsin is like Arizona, the state we saw a week or so ago, which is also had a lot of Republicans running for office there that spent most of their campaign denying that the 2020 election resulted in a Joe Biden victory. So it's interesting that Tim Michaels has been endorsed by Donald Trump because clayfish, the former lieutenant governor, has also had questions about the 2020 vote. But whenever it is, Tony Evers is a democratic governor there. He has spent a long time a lot of his tenure blocking Republican efforts to rewrite election laws and he is a top Republican target. The battle between clayfish and Michaels thought to be very, very close. What's happening in the Wisconsin Senate race. Well, it was going to be a very interesting race Mandela Barnes, the lieutenant governor there was probably the favorite, but he had three democratic challenges. It just so happened that last month all three dropped out of the race and endorsed Barnes, Barnes is African American, as I said, he's lieutenant governor, and he's running against Ron Johnson, the Republican senator who may be the most vulnerable Republican in the Senate is a question whether Barnes is too liberal to win, and in Wisconsin, but again with Ron Johnson's numbers, always below sea level. This can be another key race if the Democrats are going to hold on to the Senate. In Minnesota, progressive democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar is facing a challenger is there anything for her campaign to worry about? Well, there's always something to worry about because she has a lot of negatives and a lot of opponents around the country and in Minnesota, but she should win. I think the most interesting thing in Minnesota, there's a special election in the first district to replace Republican congressman who died of cancer back in February. This Republican candidate Brad finsta, he could very well win the special election today, but lose the primary at the same time. So, you know, the long congressional career of Brad finstad may only last a couple of months. And now asking you to do the impossible in our remaining few seconds, what else is kind of on your radar in Connecticut and Vermont? Well, from a not too much to talk about in Connecticut, but if we only have a few seconds, I would focus on for a month. Of course, Peter Welch is a congressman is running for pat Leahy's Senate seat. He's giving up, but the battle to replace Peter Welch in the house is between a woman whose backed by Bernie Sanders and a more moderate woman backed by pat Leahy for a month has never elected a woman to the house or a Senate. So that's going to be a very interesting primary to watch in Vermont. Thank you so much, Ken. Thank you, Michelle. That is Ken rudin, political junkie podcast host he joined us on Skype. All right, some local kids have been battling to get to the little league World Series. We'll find out how that's going and why commanders head coach Ron Rivera fired somebody today. It's next on WTO. Hey, there's something different about my mango pineapple smoothie. Really? My grandma will wrap a taste fine. Something's definitely different. No difference? Other than I got them for half off, because I ordered on the app. Well, that explains it. Explains what? How things seem to taste so much better when you're getting a sweet deal. Okay

"Campaign 2022 now, another primary Tuesday in several states today, including Minnesota, Vermont, and Connecticut. In Wisconsin, voters will be choosing a Republican nominee for governor and it's another race where former president Trump and his former vice president Pence are on opposite sides. Trump has endorsed businessman Tim Michaels, while Pence is backing former lieutenant governor Rebecca Rebecca cleve. Both candidates have falsely claimed that the 2020 election was rigged, although cleave has said that the certifying election results is not constitutional. Michaels has said everything will be on the table. The winner faces democratic governor Tony Evers. Happening today to potentially key witnesses expected to appear before the House January 6th committee, the panel will meet with former Trump Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Doug mastriano, who's the Trump supported Republican nominee for governor in Pennsylvania. Mastriano was a state senator who happened to be at the capitol January 6th and served as a point person in his state for a plan to keep Trump in office by allegedly using fake electors. However, mastriano's attorney says his client anticipates leaving after about ten minutes unless the committee agrees to terms of his deposition. President Biden has signed the $280 billion bipartisan bill that's designed to support high-tech manufacturing in the U.S.. The president today says that law incentivizes investments in the domestic semiconductor industry and aims to ease the U.S. reliance on overseas supply chains for critical cutting edge goods. The White House says micron will announce a $40 billion plan to boost domestic manufacturing of memory chips. Qualcomm and global foundries are announcing a $4 billion expansion of a chip plant in upstate New York. Some football fans in Northern Virginia will be disappointed this year, a high school football program didn't get enough students to sign up, so it's season is being called off. Manassas park high school will not have a football program this fall. It was a decision that was made because the roster numbers for the cougars were just too low. The team held a number of practices in recent weeks, averaging a turnout of just 11 players. The school's activities director says ideally, he'd need a minimum of 30 players to have a season. He made the announcement that the program was being called off, informing the team's scheduled opponents, as well as the Virginia high school league, which oversees high school sports across the state. Just ahead on WTO fee, we'll speak live with USA Today's Christine Brennan about the retirement announcement of tennis grade Serena Williams, although she's not using that word. We'll talk about that as well. 1136. My doctor told me my blood pressure is borderline. I

"She is running for governor against incumbent Democrat Tony Evers. Next year. She joins me live on the line right now, Uh, Miss Kleefisch. Thank you so much. Congratulations on making it official. However, did you keep this secret for so long? Yes. I know. I know. It is the worst kept secret in Wisconsin politics, But, you know, I am super proud. Uh, Our team. I'm super proud of the work that led up to this moment. I was so delighted to see you know, a couple 100. People show up at my dad's company this morning, and you know it was. It was a special moment. Ellis flew home from college and violence took the day off of school, which deeply disappointed her as you might imagine, Um, and you know, we're all in the car right now, on our way to Appleton, and then after that, Wassana and then back To walk a shock county for our final event of the night, But I hope that that is indicative of the type of work. I'm going to put into this because then you have seen Your listeners have seen the failed and incompetent leadership of Tony Evers and what it has done to the state of Wisconsin. What a disaster. These last two years have been, and we're offering something different, a far more aspirational and reasonable, honest vision for the future. And I could not be more excited about it. I mean, I'm I'm running because I have two kids that I just want to come back to Wisconsin to live their American dreams and hopefully one day raise their families. But Order to do that. We're going to need to have safe streets. We're going to need actually accountable schools and great paying jobs. And Tony Evers is not the way to get there. Why are you qualified? More than any other Republican who might have already entered the race or enters the race? From here on out? Why are you more qualified? To run them them. Why are you qualified bottom line to be governor of the state of Wisconsin? Then I have both the passion and the experience. I did spend eight years As Scott Walker's lieutenant governor, and in my capacity as lieutenant governor. Things were a little bit different than what you have seen and lieutenant governors in Wisconsin's history. I was actually in all of the budget meetings, asking the questions and helping to refine and define the policy. I was in all of the Cabinet meetings, and when the governor was out of town, I led the Cabinet meetings. I also led my own initiative. Everything from our tax reform round tables to starting the governor's small business stomach to starting a small business academy in order to connect entrepreneurs to the resources they need to start their own small businesses. I led a task force on minority unemployment. I led the task force on opioids abuse with John Nygren. And on top of that, you know, I chaired a couple national organizations, even a lot of federal agency in Washington D C for year after I lost my job as lieutenant governor, I'm ready and there is no one else who can hit the ground running in the way I can and who will Serve the people of Wisconsin with the passion and the knowledge that I have Now you faced criticism for the organization that you just cited the 18 48 project, which for full disclosure has been running ads on our flagship station W I s N radio that this was essentially a campaign. Outfit. How do you respond to what Democrats are already calling, Uh, shady behavior on your part? Have been 100% transparent about the purpose of the 18 48 project from its inception. I said that we have too many people in Wisconsin who feel unheard and unless ins too, and it should be the people dictating the policy to the government, and not the other way around. And so I started the 18 48 project named for When Wisconsin became a state and our pioneer spirit. I started the 18 48 project to travel the state and truly listen. In listening sessions, take notes and write down people's policy ideas, solicit their thoughts about how to make a better Wisconsin and I promised that we would build all of their good ideas into the policy agenda for Wisconsin's future, and I delivered I have done more than 50 listening sessions across the state of Wisconsin, an additional 22 sessions just to a scholars and experts to establish the viability in the constitutionality of the policy choices that we made to include in the documents that we release Just a couple of weeks ago called the forward agenda with our top 56 policy objectives or Wisconsin's future. And before you ask Well, is this your platform? I'm going to tell you This should be and I've said it from the start. This should be Everyone. Vision for Wisconsin. Conservative, reasonable, bold future This should be him. No all conservatives. Thing from because these are the ideas that unite us the ideas that come directly from the people. And there they are. If you take a look at at that website 18 48 project org. I urge you just read That first couple of pages. You don't even need to redraw 16 pages. But I'm proud of the work that we have done listening the people of this confidence. Rebecca Kleefisch joining me, she announced earlier today her candidacy officially for the governorship of Wisconsin. Now, after the election of 2020, Ms Kleefisch, the Overwhelming sentiment of conservatives and trust me. I have heard this more than most. Because the investigation I did into the integrity of the 2020 election here in Wisconsin, there is widespread sentiment. That because there wasn't enough done that The 2022 election will be marred by the same problems without getting into what you would do as governor because the more immediate concern is what you would do as a candidate as we saw things like democracy in the park in Madison leading up to the 2020 election as we saw things like Clerks in Dane County in Milwaukee County, giving patently unlawful advice for people to mark themselves as indefinitely confined to skirt voter idea requirements. As we see all of these things develop, and they will undoubtedly develop in the run up to 2022 over the next year. How will you pledge to your voters to conservatives across Wisconsin that you will do everything you can to challenge changes to the law made at the last minute to challenge The effort to put a weight on the scales of electoral justice here in Wisconsin. Well, First of all we need to pursue of full forensic audit. And I think we are seeing that through the work of both state wrapped in L branch in and justice Michael Gable men through WHO Speaker Flosses Initiative to investigate 2020. I am focused and someone must be on fall of 22. But to your point we're going to go into that race, fighting under the exact same walls and what we fought under in 2020, which means we must have a ruthless Hard working ethic grassroots effort in order to assure that we have the votes to take back the governor's office November 8th of 2022. That's going to involve five strong strategy, most of which is documented, frankly, in an op ed that you wrote. Some time ago, and I hope because I'm talking about it right now that you would be willing to maybe repost it at the top of your Web page because in it, Dan, you talk about the Harvard Cummings as Republicans and one of the things that we will tackle in our campaign and in conjunction with Patriot groups and the Republican Party across the state. One of those things is we have 72 counties, but we have 72 Republican Party branches across Wisconsin. "She's still sitting out there as a designee s O. So to answer your question, those are potential actions that could take place. Um, now when you get to the local health departments, uh, some of the things uh, I would rather have him in in this bill because dealing with them some day I've seen before I've been there a while. Where someday never comes. On and you lose the opportunity, so if you don't do it now, it's not going to get done. Hopefully we will circle back. I have a great concerns with the bill's proposals that are out there right now. There will be some Senate action in committee and some amendments and we're supposed to be on the floor next Tuesday. I am a no. Go on the bill. It should be no surprise, I guess. I still circle back to the critical critical thing is to get these kids back in school. Suicide rates are climbing. I've got three of Mike and point to right now in Walworth and Rob Walworth in Jefferson County. 18 to 24 year old suicide rate is going through the roof, the teachers and other educated They don't wanna talk about that. They don't wanna talk about that. There are all kinds of private problems with mental health with our youth. Thean ability for them to interact with each other, like human beings really want to do. So It is a crisis and we've got it. We've got to stop the bleeding and we got to get these kids back in school. There's nothing I mean, Is there anything in this bill that would that would halt or postpone The the proficiency exam results. No, not that I'm aware of. Okay, so because because I mean, maybe that's what you do is you wait and you actually see with those scores? Those test scores look like because they're going to be awful. Steve, they're going to be awful. You mentioned mental health. We don't want to talk about youth suicide, right? I guess that doesn't matter. That's not a crisis here, even though the isolation Is actually creating a mental health crisis for young people, You know, not. So this is what makes me mad. Anything that any citizen would have told you to do. Is missing from this legislation. I want to know why the Republicans are not listening to the people who are calling their offices and responding to the people. That's who you're supposed to respond to the people and draft legislation that the people support. Yes, it's apparently in this case more important for some of the special interests to be taken care of in the families. The families with Children get nothing and those who even don't have Children, but want some protection, civil liberties with their homes. Get nothing and it's more important to do the immunity for business, and that's important again. I I understand that, but it's not more important than getting kids back in school. And that's the critical thing and protect us from the local health departments. Uh, boy, it's frustrating. I'll tell you Well, it Z more than frustrating. It's infuriating because it's actually a microcosm. Reflection off why everybody is so angry right now why conservatives are angry. Because we control the Legislature. Tony Evers sits in the East Wing. Yes, but we're not seeing anyone Stand up on behalf of I'm not seeing anyone. I exempt you. Yoo Jin l. You know, Cody. A lot of these people are great. Dewey Strobel s so I I want to but on mass There isn't there isn't a group of Republicans that want to stand on behalf of the way that we, the people that looks like they're trying to figure out a way to appease Tony Evers. This actually moves a close to where the belief is that The governor may very well signed this bill. And if we put some of the items in, for example, opening up schools that then he would not sign the bill, and I think well, let's put it in because it's important. It's not whether will he sign it or not, It's important to Republicans, Democrats with kids. It's important to the Children were robbing them of their future education. Like a thief in the night and we need to put it in there, and of Tony wants to veto it and face the people. Then that's up to him. That's up to him. But.
