"Those guys say what okay we don't want to kneel. We don't WanNA. Distort the process instead of those three minutes. Nailing I'm GonNa give you twenty minutes of my press conference to discuss what's on your mind what the problems are and let's get this out there. That would have been so because he got almost. I don't Wanna say it got tire. Somebody did whenever you knew what the protests was actually about, but you were speaking to somebody who was told that it was about something. Yeah, and it got tiresome to be like well, that's not that's not what well they should have done it that way, and then it was like well. Well, that's they literally and then whenever Colin Kaepernick where the pig cop socks, Fidel Castro thing, it only got even worse, and it was just like the narratives just got sent in so many different directions and I feel like right now. It's starting to happen again, but I do feel more and more people on the right side of things. I really I honestly believe that. I agree and that's what we've gotTA. Do we've got to keep the focus on the problem and not on our differences? Coach do you kind of wish that I was a quarterback for a team that you? Would've loved the head you on my team that I really would have I listened to you. Speak at the I think it was the colts training at the NFL. Sponsorship luncheon or something like that. It was my first time ever getting to see you operate and I was like man that guy up there so good at doing. Whatever use controlled the whole room. You send a positive message in. There is not a single negative things about Tony Dungy in the colts facility when I was there man I. Wish I would've got chance play for your team. Well thank you pat and that's the message. We gotta stay positive. We gotta stay together overcome evil with good. Don't let little.

Obviously you can't go about town. I even saw in your tweet there that you included about letting everyone know that you were doing proper social distancing but that's that that's what is the sense that you get about Brady signing in Tampa been unbelievable. Everyone is just hoping we have the season and things get back to normal because the excitement and the level of expectation now through the roof People have always been excited about buccaneers football. And and and that but this off season no one expected. This and people can't wait. So how do you think The ARIANS BRADY MARRIAGE IS GONNA go down going to be very good? I think Tom is going to elevate the play of a lot of the guys around and they've got some talented people here. I think versus done a good job of putting together Some defensive people that can can create some havoc. Todd Bowles is very creative on that side of the ball and then all expensively and they've got some skill positions you know everybody's complained about Tom. Brady weapons the last few years. They have weapons here And the passing game tight end wide. Receivers pro bowlers You know and Thomas. Tom Is going to be stirring the drink so I think they're gonNA be good. I think Bruce has worked with a lot of Quarterbacks you look at what he did with Carson Palmer when Carson was in his late thirty. I think he knows how to put together a quarterback friendly well in in terms of Aryans. You know on this. I love stories like this because you know. Obviously there's coaching trees coaching lineages in coaching relationships. That I'd like to always put a spotlight on you. And Aaron's did you guys share in apartment when you work for Schottenheimer up back in the Daytona in eighty nine. Did Percival had been the head coach at Temple. He went to Kansas City as the running back coach. I went there. The Defensive Backfield Code right are both of our families weren't coming until June. We're trying to get housing squared away. So January to June We shared an apartment and we were roommates for six months and it was pretty awesome is it. Is it safe to say you are the clean one? He was the messy one couple to. "What else do you have mclovin way? Quick question off that. What about a team like the redskins where you can compete for the starting job for James or Cam? Does that make sense? Is that a dead. No I think that Kim would be in place for the redskins because the Ron Rivera. I just don't know how they what they think of. Dwayne Haskins I know what the owner thinks of Dwayne Haskins but the people who are smart people. I want to know what they think Dwayne Haskins and that would be the big concern. Are you all in on him? And do you want to bring in James? Who's going to try to win that starting job? And that's where it gets a little dangerous if you've already wasted a first round pick onto Wayne Haskins bring in Cam Newton. Now what do you do with Haskins? So I don't even know what can is right now. If Cam is completely healthy I would certainly him in? If I'm Washington Jameis Winston. Everybody says all could you imagine him in New England? I I can but I don't think Bill Belichick can and I think that he's got wonderful talent. And maybe he's with smart people but keep in mind. He was with Bruce Arians last year. All these people that Brady has confidence in James Winston had those guys. And what did he do? He threw thirty interceptions. Someone of those receivers went the wrong route and you gotTa have the right offense coordinator right head coach okay. He had great receivers and he had a wonderful head coach. Offensive minded coach and experienced offense minded people on the staff. I would be very nervous. I think he's got to figure out. You know how to play the position eventually. Talent wise great. But you know that hasn't been the issue here. Y'All mclovin bench on Friday. That two of might be able to do the physical he wants. I came to Howard. Teams Protein is. What have you heard about that? They're a source said to me that there's real concern with two that they can't get the medical. They can't get all the information they need. Now it's going to be an even bigger risk from what I was told if you're going to go all in on to you know. Can you get the information you need in time? The fact that you're not gonNA he's not going to be a pro day. The draft is gonNA be by remote. You're not going to be around him and then to try to get him and say all right. We want to put him through a workout. When can you do that? Because the draft. Is You know what a month away you know. Could you do simulate a workout? Just like we're doing here. Imagine you had a camera and feed going out to all thirty two teams and two does a pro day and you have a person within like a coach middleman and it tells to A. Here's the request from the teams. Here's what we want you to do. And he can go either with all the teams all thirty two teams into a public pro day or not public but public to those teams and then a handful of them can do individual ones and it could be camera setup with him. His coach and a couple of wide receivers were nowhere near each other. Yeah I understand that but you know it's weird how these old school guys they want to and I was told this they like being in front of somebody and listening to them. Throw the ball like how does it sound? How does it does it have that acceleration? They're like if you've been around guys when you watch them throw a baseball in person. It's so different than watching on TV. Because you can hear that and you can night. There's that extra push that's I was told about to. They want to be in in front of him. They instead of doing something via skype or something you know they want to be there. But they need the medicals. I also started to look at all the things that have happened so seven days ago. Look at what's happened with the NFL. Tom Brady's the bucket near Sean. Payton's in quarantine deandre Hopkins Got Traded Cam. Newton Jameis. Winston are without a team. Philip rivers is a Colt. Nick foles bear deforest. Buckner a colts too fond digs is a bill. Todd Gurley Falcon Teddy Bridgewater Panther. Amari Cooper got paid an insane amount of money Miami brought in Byron Jones who else Darius slay out of Detroit Kirk cousins got a contract Extension Judea beyond Clowney is Still without a team like that's all of that transpired in the last seven days pretty incredible. It's not like we have a lot of other signings left but that's that's certainly filled up quite a bit of time here in the last seven days. We're starting to find out a little bit more about. This is all about spin when it happened. I said watch for the spin. Read for the spin listened for the spin in New England. Now you're getting Tom Brady side of the story. You may not get Bella. Check side of the story by Seth wicker. Sham had a lengthy article on Tom. Brady and how? He felt how he felt. You know kind of disrespected. They're not appreciated. And I understand all those things where he finally just said why off. Am I doing this for well? You were doing it because you probably thought that's the best place. You had a chance to win a super bowl now. That's gone you you know. You're you're legacies firmly cemented. Now you go have fun. And that's what he's going to do. I sent the Dan. That's a picture. 'cause I hope that they bring back the cream sickle uniforms? The white ones with the the the the lettering in the numerals that cream in Tampa and it was Trent dilfer wearing number twelve in that picture. At the line of scrimmage and I thought I could put Brady in that uniform. I saw where his Jersey sales are up nine hundred percent which makes sense going to a new team. I don't I don't know who would be second on that list when it comes to Jersey. Sales Benghazi Deandre Hopkins Philip Rivers. Coltman Nick foles no Steph on digs teddy bridgewater maybe teddy bridgewater. Todd Gurley Falcon now. Laurie cooper stays kirk cousins right. Yeah so I understand where Brady's jerseys what's the Olympic Pole Paulie all right now? This is a weird opportunity. Even though it's a negative let's say. The Olympics are pushed back. The Tokyo Olympics pushed back to summer. Two Thousand Twenty one then. The following Olympics in Paris will be twenty twenty four which three year window. No big deal. Paris knows their timeline and then L. A. Olympics are scheduled for summer two thousand twenty eight. I'm in favor of changing the entire Olympic model in bucking tradition and going to the Olympics. Every three years you give the athletes a much greater chance to make the Olympics more than once in their career multiple times in their career. You know three years is still long enough where the average fan will miss all those niche sports in track and field and swimming and so forth. And you'll make way way more money. Thank you have an extra Olympics every couple of years based on schedule and all you have to do is you don't have to change Paris. Twenty twenty four at all do his ass Los Angeles to move up from Twenty eight to twenty twenty seven. Los Angeles is almost ready for the Olympics. Now all their stadiums will be in place and ready to go just a few years there. There's a city that knows how to host. The Olympics has done so before you could easily move the Olympics to every three years and make way more money. Yeah we've talked about that a couple years ago where we thought if you do it then. Maybe you help out. These athletes be able to participate in more Olympic. Will the Rams Stadium be done by twenty twenty seven? Paulina JUST WANNA. Make sure. Not Quite sure through easy. All right till nineteen after hour and we'll settle on a poll question. Tony Dungee will join US coming up. Where does he think James Winston and Cam Newton will end up mark? Cuban will stop by. We'll check in with the duke. Point Guard Bobby Hurley. A little bit later on in the program. And if you'd like to dial us up you know the you're stuck at home and you WanNa talk. Sports feel free. You can also watch. You can see Fritzy's official office there Seaton's Music Room and mclovin department Paulie here in the man cave with me..

"I don't think it's one of the great plays in the history of the NFL. I think it's a great play in the postseason. But I don't know what differentiates that is being a one of the greatest place in the history of the NFL. It was it was interesting to see because it came from from him. If Lamar Jackson did that would it be one of the greatest place in the history of the NFL and the answer is no. I think we were surprised because mahomes was using his legs legs. Yes boy I I think. That's what which might be saying. It's more so that's unexpected for him to do that to run like that to lower shouldered to roll pass people both all through people at the end. It's more like it's it's signature. Play from a homes when they needed it late in the first half they were they were down at the point. Yeah but it's not one of the greatest play a- actual play the the play itself is a nice run for a quarterback who doesn't run a lot realize the importance of it to get the chiefs to the Super Bowl. It might be one of the great plays in chiefs history Yes mclovin. How do you compare to Trevor Lawrence going sixty seven in the semifinal against Ohio state which to play with bare or better That was a great run. Lawrence had a great run. Yeah he made people miss mahomes homes got around the corner and then all of a sudden defensive backs thought he was going out of bounds and then they can only when he turned back in. Do they go. Oh my God now. We gotta tackle him and he had built up momentum and got in but Trevor Lawrence's run was more impressive against Ohio state. The net. I just think you're surprised because it's mahomes that's all I also think thank You get caught up with the fact that it's the AFC title game and as Poi- was saying it's the final moments of the second quarter. They're down seventeen. Fourteen that gives them this. Big momentum grabbed the lead right before half them and they're getting the ball. Aw to start the third quarter. So that magnifies it but in and of itself it was a great play but not like. Oh my gosh. I can't believe what just happened. If that was in the regular season. Now I I know that you know Richard saying that you know. Let's factor in. Its in the postseason. And I'm assuming that's what he's saying. So if you look at the circumstances than it heightens it a little bit it but I just think we were surprised by homes making a run like that. If Russell Wilson doesn't it's not one of the great plays in the history of the NFL. Lamar Jackson it's not it's you don't expect Mahomes to beat you with his legs all right What poll question going with mclovin? Well it seems like we all want to go with. I don't know if it's a fair question. But you might have both but if you had to pick one and you're the titans to move forward in the off season Derrick Henry or Ryan Tannehill you can pay one fig time and maybe you can get both. I don't know but which style would you go. Well I think I can have Tannahill Derrick Henry but I don't if I have Derrick Henry Henry I don't necessarily need tannehill but but I do think tannahill needs Henry. Henry Needs Tannehill. The question is what kind of offense to the titans didn't want to run. This thing was working pretty good. Yes is it sustainable an NF. It is for how long because when running running backs get paid. They don't run the same way the second contract. I'd be curious if you look at recent history with running backs who got paid and and then what did they do after that. Because I think you run a little differently than you do. Brandon Jacobs ran differently once he got paid and he was one one of the bigger running backs in the history of the game. We Apple Dare Kennedy only made one point two billion dollars this year. One of the great bargains in Sports. Don't screw it up. You know. He made five point. Four million million dollars in four years basically got him for just about nothing. Yes mclovin and Todd Gurley. I mean it's not just that he wasn't trying. You have a huge injury risk. They paid him and they fell apart. Yeah I just I don't Wanna I don't WanNa overpay and it's nothing against Derrick Henry. It's just the position I in his as great as he was this year I just I I would have doubts about bringing him back. You know signing a four or five year contract I'll give you said he's going to get a girly deal or Z. Q Elliott deal. I I just. I don't WanNa pay a running back. Who plays that way? That kind of money. Tony Dungy the hall of Famer. Working of course. NBC Football Night in America joining us. Hey Tony How aurea. I'm doing well Dan and that's good to hear your voice you kinda debating that Run game has gained. Yeah all right if vice said you can bring back only one player. If you're Tennessee you can have Derrick Henry Ryan Tannehill for the short run. I'm I'm bringing bringing back Derrick Henry because I think everything revolves around him but I do agree with you it could go You know those big backs that that have that kind honest by and that kind of style. you know we just haven't seen Last seven eight nine years like that. Do you think the packers overachieved Tony. That maybe they weren't a great team. I think they really did when you look at the regular season and and we saw some games where they they struggled and You know they played well. They won games. They want some close games. I think I saw that had the least Of Net points for thirteen engage wondering ever. They want a lot of close games and I think that is a sign of good coaching and and they did as much as they cook with their their talent. Level I ah. was anything surprising to you in these. Two Games Just the fact that Kansas City could make so many mistakes and fall all behind early and and not panic in in those big games. It's it's hard to fall behind like that and they did it. Two weeks ago I think Chris Jones Owns may be there Bob Sanders I mean when he came in the lineup and did something yesterday. It made a big difference but They they better not make those kind of early mistakes and fall in that whole against San Francisco. Yeah I was wondering about that that you know you fall behind it the Texans in the titans. That's different than falling behind against San Francisco because San Francisco has maybe the best defense and that running attack no matter who's running the ball. It feels like they're going to be able to dominate time of possession. Yep to up the clock and then you're not going to score on every possession. Kansas City is going to score on San Francisco. But this isn't a defense that you're going to go out and score-settling straight touchdowns again. Do we know who Jimmy Garoppolo is. I think he's a good player and he really benefits from that system and he is playing and giving them what they need. There's been some games where he's had come through down in New Orleans he had to put up points and he but he hasn't eh do that that often and he's had some games like this where he's relied on the defense in the run game but I think they have confidence in him and I think when they need him to to the fact that he only has to throw eight passes and you blowout Aaron Rodgers and the packers. I mean that we talked about systems in San Francisco. Got A system running attack here they do and I. I've played against that when Mike Shanahan was was coaching And we we played some games against Denver where they beat us just like that and they got the lead early and they ran and you couldn't get them up and then you start run blitzing and doing things and then you hit a couple of action passes. And he's done it with a lot of different types of quarterbacks and a lot of different backs but the same way that script conflict if you get behind and just like Tennessee Derrick Henry was a non factor in the second half because the game was a little different. So it it's a very good system they can run on anybody It's a system that doesn't rely on a Derrick Henry type back they three or four different backs in there they gas they. They won't cut one thing. That's really probably not smoking. You know Bobby. Turner has been around for a long time. And and you think of Terrell Davis Unknown Orlando's Gary and Tatum Bell and now Mahim most Bobby Turner Yeah. I don't know what he does know. He teaches these guys. You get one cut and that's it you'll be standing next to me in the ball but but everybody comes in that system and produces Leave you with this. WHO GETS BACK TO THE SUPER BOWL? I the titans of the packers. The titans packers playing tough division. The titans it's hard hard to win that way every year. Now Maybe Ryan Tannehill gets more competence and maybe he does become Jimmy Garoppolo and their defense will continue to get better data. And I'll tell you people don't know how to deal with these running games now Tennessee in in San Francisco do things that people aren't ready for for because everybody's looking at how do we stop. These passing attack stopped. Patrick Mahomes I it's hard to just get bludgeoned and there's nothing nothing you can do to stop it. So that's a good question. I think I'm GONNA say Green Bay in the short run but I think tennis it built on a foundation. Two weeks off while you're not really off when you after the title game and then you get ready for the Super Bowl. Can you over prepare for the Super Bowl. You know I had some good mentors and we always tried to really prepare that first week When you're at home and you've got a kind of standard procedure? Hey let's put the game plan in and they don't. It's just too much that second week. Youth that week in Miami just it's a relaxed Kinda get in the flow of things. Don't over evaluate that second week. So That's how I always tried to do it and coach Noll a bit of that way and the people that have been around but yeah fourteen days is a long time. You know what I over thought kicking. We pillowy practices all week at home. punts the ball to the corner pop up and then I got down there with that extra week and saw. Oh we can't be scared we gotta go right at him bad I..

"Now we had the one opportunity to see it in place in New Orleans on the last play the game clearly offense to pass interference and it wasn't overturned. I don't know how they overturned one now. Going forward what about the idea of you know. The catch rule was a total mess because there really there was no rule for years. The league basically said read the rule book. It's right there. Everybody I mean and then they finally did codify it in a way that we have gotten rid of the catch not a catch problem. What about coming up with an actual standard for which pass interference would be reviewed in called supposed to what happened this year? I think that that if that gets handled then maybe we can have this safety net. That's appropriately applied well. The problem problem is the rue the wording Materially restrict an offensive or defensive player. What does that mean? What is materially restrict and my judgment of what is material is different Obviously the League office didn't feel like how Rudolph materially hindered. PJ Williams on Sunday but he did and so It's just it's judgment. It's gray area. It's always gonna be that way and I think you just. There's no way you're gonNA. It'll make perfect Tony. We made it through the segment with you not needing to recharge your phone so the power prayer and we. We should get a rich Eisen. Show Molefi to Tony Dungy so you can get one of those things plug right in and then you can get official you make made. Ah Yeah but I would love a rich Eisen. Want so send me one. You gotTa County. I hope to see you soon. Always enjoy our right back at you. That's Tony Tony. Dungy pro football hall of Famer. We made it through ten minute chat with Tony not needing to plug in his phone at Tony Dungy on twitter at Tony Underscore Dungy on instagram. And that insider report brought to you by the Honda. Hr V. Stupendous Lee Stylish and available with all wheel drive the HIV is ready to team up. Not for your next adventure so hurry at your local Honda dealer today during the commercial break. I turned to you Chris Brockman and I said name me an assistant that most everybody has not heard of and did not think was a head coaching candidate or material and could be hired or should be hired and got hired and turned turned into a terrific coach. If not maybe the best in the history of the organization you spat back the the name of Tony Dungy just mentioned John are aw. He was a special teams coach Philadelphia. And then come in. And I don't remember him. Being one of those hot candidates ravens got him and it was definitely definitely surprise- well one of the reasons why again they hired him from the read system and and also He's harmful but also in all seriousness. To what does he said. The special teams coaches talk to every man on the roster because every man on the roster with the exception of your quarterback and top tier wideouts corners and running backs are essentially all candidates to be on special teams even Gronk. Okay Joe Judges Ages coached grunk. So as we all know gronk famously in on an extra point that mound up with getting hurt but so when coaches get fired midseason usually the guy that takes over is the special teams. Because that's what happened. When the Rams Bounced Jeff Fisher they turned to bones fossil so so yeah the they turn with special teams coach because they have knowledge of pretty much everybody on the roster right and one one of the best special teams ballot check was special teams coach? He was he was may ox special teams coach when we arrived at the giants years ago. So and and that's it kind of Bella checks forte. I mean everything's forte too. So in terms of the fingerprint that one would think of Bella check. That would be on somebody. It would be joe judge the problem with being being a ballot check. Proteges you go to another spot and you automatically act like you're Bella check and you haven't won a game yet right mcdaniels. That's how he rubbed everyone the wrong way in Denver before he got the gate there. I mean that's the way it's worked for a lot of people but as dungy basically said you can't sit here and say this guy's got no shot you believe in them you give them the system the whole thing. Is You gotta how to sell them on your fan base and the question is will the New York fan base. That's heard the names of of mcdaniels and and McCarthy people who have been there and done that and you also expecting this is an organization they could pull a rabbit out of a hat because they're the New York football ball giants and say we took this person out of retirement. You didn't figure he's GONNA coach anymore. Guess What He's coaching again. You didn't think this person would come off the out of the booth author. Come Out of the studio. Guess What He's coaching again. Because we're the New York football giants and when they went back to back assistance. mcadoo mcadoo was a total unmitigated disaster after an eleven and five season in fact that the giants organization has gone totally downhill. It started when some of their players went to south Florida on there like what loan day off after making the playoffs before going to green bay for their wildcard game and at eleven and five season for mcadoo and then it went totally off the rails downhill in terms of ally. Manning's starting streak being broken up in exchange for Gino Smith not the young guy on the roster that they could have given his spot to just to see. Who's there Gino Smith? The way that the giants handled all that with mcadoo firing him than going and getting the hot offensive coordinator at the time from Minnesota in Pat Shurmur who had a failed tenure being head coach in Cleveland before that was a tough sell. But at least it's like we're going to get somebody in here knows how to run an offense. What's it worked for case keenum? It should work for Eli. It didn't it worked for Barclay but the next year you draft Daniel Jones and and you start him now. You'RE GONNA say this special teams coordinator you've never heard of. He's from Sabin. He's from Bella check. He's our new guy. It's GonNa be a tough sell especially if you get Jason Garrett is as offensive coordinator but if they start to an hour and they start winning games you can work since the boat photo. The giants lost wildcard. The next the next day twelve and thirty seven off cliff literally grab Thelma grabbed Louise's hand and they rubbed it. Will Joe Judge be the guy to bring it back when we come back Chris. Brockman will eat a piece piece of Mike. Del Tufo sat that I am holding in my hand. It's about one inch by one inch and the television break. I'm going to cut it up into quarters I I'm going to place it into half of a peanut butter and Jelly Sandwich that I believe there is an origin as to how this was acquired and Brockman. You're going to eat this piece of hat because you said you would if the Philadelphia Eagles made the playoffs we call this content. It's the twenty first century three and I'm here for it. And then there's Pat McAfee after Josh mccown before Joe Montana. That's our rolling. You're on this edition of the rich Eisen show. Chicago Bears vs. Kansas City Chiefs: What You Need To Know
"In Chicago Bears hosting the Kansas City Chiefs you want predictions you want that you'll get it beforehand it is of course football night America with Rodney Chris Simms Mike three go Tony Dungy Mike Florio and the crew running a quick preview for the bears I mean it's about respect at this point for Kansas city it's about continue to show that you know they've turned the corner they continue to dominate has this one turned out in terms of how you break it down right well look at Mitchell service can the number one thing he can do is try that out of out perform and try to you know prove to everyone that he's better than Patrick my home because he was the you know was his number one pick number jacket at secondhand right they gave up a lot so he has he can't get caught up in trying to prove anything and it's going to come down to the bears defense Kenny stop all these weapons they have so many weapons are keen excel will watch demand play last week to defensive tackle for the bears he was in and out the line up they did a good job on Khalil Mack and I just I look at the bears defense they're wearing down a lost or to start inside linebackers Roque once myth and Danny Trevathan it's tough it's tough but if you're to Chicago Bears your plan for your job you have you had a losing season very disappointing season and everybody's watching to see who quits this is a nationally televised game going into the offseason if you can knock off Kansas city it can build confidence Hey you never know what happens from there you're not going to make the playoffs but at least you're going to the off season feeling pretty good about yourself

"I'm out. We talked about this yesterday with Troy Aikman. Would you bring him in to help. Run Edwards said this. Edward covers the cowboys. He's locked in on the cowboys. Anybody and he said one upbringing Troy Aikman to help run this team and I said but not done WanNa do that unless you go black and be the savior for the cowboys. But you still have to deal with Jerry Jones. This is From Troy Aikman. He was interviewed yesterday day on thirteen ten the ticket and he said that it's something that he's always. A considered land somewhat entertained by and said that he might be the interested in joining a team but not the Dallas cowboys. Isn't that interesting. Doesn't that send a strong message to Jerry. Jones that troy. I would like to do this like John. Elway or John Lynch but he said that and I want to get exact quote here though. He sees another frontier. But he doesn't see doing it with the Dallas cowboys. And Jerry. I think you know he's entr even said look the problems start. Sort of it's a guy who's paying the bills and Jerry's the guy who's paying the bills but if you could get jerry to step away. Hey from being the general manager which is not possible. Then maybe you could have somebody come in and actually take that job and say all right. I had this job with total autonomy. Yes doesn't it'd be like Troy. Aikman is going to get like a three year contract extension at Fox in about a day or two with a big race like a college football coach. I'm waiting for Arkansas. To give him a contract tracked offer. Doesn't Arkansas give everybody a contract offer. And then they go back to their other job yes taught and also on the ticket troy was asked about them as far as joining specifically the cowboys front office he goes I I doubt it. I think it's a real long shot. I believe it's unlikely Jerry will ever bring anybody in. That can help this football team in that regard. Just because he's been real stubborn and steadfast and that he's the one in charge. I think in a lot of ways until back changes. This team is going to have some problems. Yeah well I mean Troy's perceptive with that and I think you have to go in with your eyes wide open while all we think it's a great job. I don't think it is a great job because Jerry doesn't make a great job you get blamed if it goes bad. He gets the credit if it it goes right yes I see that statement was also a great way to make sure you're never going to get the cowboys by saying you know the teams ever going to be any good until Jerry steps away. That's ringing Tony. Dungy the hall of Famer. NBC He football night in America analyst and of course the former head coach in the NFL. Is that a desirable job. Tony it's open. I think it really could be. You've got all you need to win. They have one there in the past to be the right type of person that as you say you have to be able to go in there and not want on any credit and not be mad if you get the blame but just make sure you win and You know Jimmy Johnson. Did that for a long time and they were successful and other got going in there for a short time. I've been successful but I think you can. Yeah I just worry that it feels like Jerry gets more involved. He's not getting less less involved. It feels like he's more involved as the years. Go on well. They've done some pretty good things. It's just You know something is best in there. I can't quite put my fan growing up close and you got a lot of resources there. I played this. It's a lot better than some other jobs. I the reason why I wanted to have you on on is what's going on with. The Patriots feels like people don't want to hear the details. They already believe the Patriots cheated. Or you believe that it's a witch which on if you're a Patriot fan here. I'm just curious Tony. What what could I film of an opposing coach? That could benefit me. Because you're allowed to talk to your quarterback into his in his helmet. This is in college where you're doing these hand gestures on or holding up. Placards on the sideline. So what exactly could I get out of this this. Yeah this is much to do about nothing. I'm not sure why the Patriots would do that. Why they would take eight minutes of someone else's sideline but you're not gonna get that anything that you can really use? Everyone is talking now. Everyone is you. Put the cards up over their face. So you can't even live read I'm not sure what they would get that that would benefit them so to me. It's yeah it's breaking the room. I don't know why they would do that. It could be very innocent. It could be Just the Patriots agents trying to make you think that they're doing something that you have to change your sideline procedures a little bit. I don't know why would do versus the Cincinnati Bengals A. Ah One winning team. None of it makes sense but I really just don't think there's much advantage to be gained at all. Yeah but you know it's still the Patriots and that's where ware says. Hey I didn't know anything about this and you know kind of trust me Dan. There's nothing that goes on in that organization that he doesn't know anything about how can promise you that I said the same thing Tony. I just can't imagine that they've got some freelance film crew and they're doing this these features in he knows nothing about that. Nothing happened there that he knows nothing about. What do you think the? NFL does in a situation. Mike this is a tough one because again it really is a very minor problem. If was anybody else but the Patriots they would just say. Hey you know what this you you gotta be careful and let's move forward. There's going to be a lot of puts on both sides. There's going to be pushed from as you say that the Patriot Learn smile. That says. Hey we've got a punish them and this is terrible I I'm not sure I would not want to be in the NFL position. I'm not sure what they're gonNA do. Yeah I think it feels like it's just going to be maybe a hefty fine. Maybe it's one hundred thousand dollars here because they're repeat offenders here and even though they admitted hey we did something. Sorry we did it. We didn't know we were doing it. We didn't get anything out of this. And here's the other thing that bothers me when somebody who's well. Why would they do that against the bengals? Also they would do that against the Ravens. But they wouldn't do that against the Bengals is what you're saying it's like no you can't you can't answer it that way We wouldn't do it against the bengals. No it's I I'm not sure. Why and the explanation well? Hey we're looking at our scouts trying to sell the job they do. Why are you then focused? Eight minutes on the other side line. Why Not Focus Eight minutes on your scouts and what they're doing but Yeah the whole thing is bizarre. I just not sure what the NFL should do at this boy. And as far as the Patriots product on the field here Tony Because you were in battles there with them and felt like you know maybe had him in a down year or two different in team or maybe they weren't as good but it still feels like they're dangerous but maybe I'm maybe it's just because I trust Bella check and Brady historically I am I am I over hyping them. Are they really not that great. No let's go back one year exactly one year. They played the Miami emme dolphins and Ryan Fitzpatrick Eight. The defense and the dolphins thirty four thirty three and then the next week they played the steelers and and Tom Brady group only score ten points. They lost two games in a row in December and we saw the same thing. The Sky's falling and the Patriots are done and six six weeks later the super bowl teams that know how to win teams. That had good coaching and and quarterback Tom Brady. You can't count them out. AH I. Don't like their offense right now. I don't know whether they help is coming from last year. They had some guys who next up a little bit and they came back but they're going to play special teams and they're gonNA play defense and they're gonNA play sound offense and run the ball and they've got Tom Brady. Nobody's GonNa WanNa play them in the playoffs. I I'M NOT SAYING THEY'RE GONNA win the Super Bowl but they're not going to be an easy out but if you're looking at the best team in the AFC the Ravens. Oh by by far and I think the ravens that they played them ten time And if they play eight times in Baltimore they'd beat em seven times They played them ten. They'd probably beat them eight overall but in the playoffs. It's at at one time you get a punt block you'd get something happens a return You just have a day where low scoring. That's how they can win so it you know I I wouldn't bet on the Patriots beating the Ravens but It could happen before I let you go. You being a defensive minded guy played defensive. Sit back if I said come up with a game plan for Lamar Jackson. Could you come up with. I couldn't right now and I'll tell you Dan Dan. What's going to happen When I was coaching we'd get all these college coaching staff in this? Come visit us and we want to talk about this and defending the passing game. And how do you got this. What kind of drove you run? What you're going to see is a lot of professional defensive? Coaching staff taking visits the spring to College College football. They'RE GONNA go to Nick Sabin Alabama. They're gonNA go to tableau. Sweeney they're GONNA go in. What do you do with this? Read option how do you defend this because NFL coaches don't know this has been going on this offense we see from Baltimore. Everybody runs it and in college football. Something stop it. Well well Alabama stops and well But nobody knows how to deal with us in the NFL. It's GONNA be a year to catch up the only thing I was thinking an and once again we. I think we have the blueprint like Buffalo. Got The blueprint. Well Buffalo's got a really good defense. I still think if I can make him throw outside the numbers here then and then I have a pretty good. I have a better chance with that. I have to be able to contain him running but if he does throw I don't want him using the middle of the field. I WANNA WANNA see if he can be accurate and have the arm strength to throw it outside the numbers there. But I don't know who has that ability to be able to do it unless it's you know. Say someone like San Francisco. Well that's the formula the two teams that have played them the best. I've seen up in buffalo and Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh played them early through a couple lavigne exceptions. They pretty much stopped running. But these teams with great speed. They played a lot of zone and they crowded the middle of the field. Buffalo made one mistake they got into man coverage coverage and they got confused. Like up the long touchdown pass on the floor and coverage but other than that. They'd played them pretty well. And I think that's what you have to do. You GotTa have a lot of speed. Need to to run him down on those options. And you've got a crowd the middle of the field and making through to the wide receivers outside the numbers but it's tough to do all that Because you gotta use your safeties in the run game you've got to make sure you're you're aggressive tackling. They put a lot of pressure on good visit with you Tony. Who Do you guys have on Sunday night? We have buffalo against Pittsburgh. It'd be great. My town has done a great job. Sean McDermott has and two teams fighting for the playoffs. That I'M GONNA it'll be excited to see great to talk to you. Tone best to the family you to think about that Tony Dungy. NBC Football Night in America. Continental tire. Coach's Corner Yeah. I know that I came up with a game plan to somehow contain Lamar Jackson. It's do you have the weapons to be able to do that..

"What is Jacob? degrom Graham getting what did he sign for five for one. Thirty seven man. So you could give him two of those contracts and it's still not what Garrett Cole has and then who's agent when he negotiated this isn't isn't that the man who is currently the GM of the mets yes mclovin by five hundred thirty seven poor guy I mean. How's he gonNA afford gator with that one? They'll but you're still you you have to be looking at this going. Oh my God and he. He wasn't a free agent. They just gave him an extension. These won the CY young back to back years. Ears and Brodie van Wagon was agent and then then now is his jam right. Yeah but did he negotiate that deal myself any became. There is no conflict of interest on that right. He didn't know he was going to be the mets. GM when he signed that deal did he will be free agent next year or did he knows knows a five year deal. When did you sign this deal? Was it last year. Oh he was going to be a free agent and he signed a five-year deal here for one. Thirty seven as it changed that much from this off season. The last off she's Apparently there's no collusion I don't. I don't think that any of these agents can go. Ah these owners are colluding here. Polling appears they have the ground for twenty twenty twenty twenty one twenty twenty two is earliest out as a player option. It's twenty twenty three. Oh Oh boy oh boy. Five for one thirty seven for the CY young back to back Cy Young Award winner Yanic Levin. I haven't seen any reason and why the deals are happening so quickly in the off season this year and we had to wait for Bryce Harper all off season Aaron explanation. I didn't know I got a heads up. Your Cole was going to sign This week but I don't know what you know what they're timeframe was for any of this because you had a lot of those deals you know guys didn't even get signed last year Dallas Kaikal there a couple of Craig Kimbrel. These guys were just waiting to be signed announce Strasbourg going back to the nationals. They had to do that. That I don't know if they keep on but Garrett Cole. I'm not surprised that the Yankees got him. I wondered you know. Once we saw the deal for Strasbourg the fact that it was two forty five and I go boy heating gear. Kohl's get over three hundred million dollars here because he's a better pitcher healthier pitcher and a couple years younger. You're going GONNA get you're GONNA get a big time deal and I wonder if the dollar value was the same if I said the angels and the Yankees were offering the same would Garrett Cole still gone onto the Yankees because he said he grew up a Yankee fan but you know he from the West Coast went to Ucla and talked about playing. You know pitching for the angels angels. And that's where I thought when the season ended I thought you know the angels are going to sign him. And then I think the price because Strasbourg went up if Garrett Cole had signed I and you know maybe this is genius. Scott Boras. He's like let me get Strasbourg. Signed and then wait because we're going to build off those numbers and that's what it feels. Feels like they did seven for two forty five. And I think you probably thought you could get Garrett Cole for somewhere in that same vicinity and You got him. Almost I ninety million dollars more eighty million dollars more In that situation so that's But Scott Boras does he. He gets those deals for his for his players. All right. What's your poll question? They're mclovin okay. this is sort of evil empire related poll questions. Okay one. You could put up do you do you root for the Yankees. What percentage of people root for the Yankees out? There is it fifty or a way lower I I I liked that. There's a team that you root against the fact that the Yankees now you look at them a little differently. Because I just didn't think the pitching staff was great but now you've made that pitching staff you know. Now you got Paxton and you got Tanaka Severino. Now these guys if you're that that's your two three four starter Your bullpen is going to be better. If Garrett Cole is going to be your ace there you still have a whole lot of talent. You've got softball lineup. There those guys all hit home runs and I miss those those teams those rivalries you know cubs won the world series and the Red Sox won the world series. Astros when okay. I want it back to where you're going. That's the team. You GotTa beat here and the Yankees are back with Garrett Cole and I think it's great. I think it's great for the sport I think basketball's missing that not right now but baseball with the Yankees. They got it back Yarmuk love what bothers you more. The Yankees outspending people the Patriots potentially bending the rules potentially who knows Alabama to sort of being Alabama having next saving or maybe duke which you think bothers fans. WHO's wearing wearing the black hat and sports? I I have opinion. I don't know if I'd be grudge the Yankees because they develop great talent here do realize Aaron judge hasn't been paid yet. Jean Carlos Stanton I gave him that stupid contract but normally Brian cashman probably doesn't doesn't get enough credit for some of the other things that he does great deals that he pulls off the talent that they develop and another thing. Yankee fans always say this. Yeah but you. We built a dynasty with cheater Bernie and and I said well. We'll hold on here you you did get those guys but you know what you did that other teams can't do you're able to to keep them because you can afford that most teams develop and then they lose them. The reds might develop players or the pirates might but then they lose them. The Yankees keys had the money to be able to keep them. That's the difference. No other franchise would it would have been able to keep Maryono jeeter Bernie. In all of those those players Posada because they wouldn't have been able to afford them with that next contract. Judge hasn't gotten paid yet. Yeah I'm wondering if judge is going to get paid that Max ax deal because you know. I was listening to New York radio yesterday and I said well they still gotta pay judge that Max deal. He had one great season in the past two years. He's missed one third of the ball games over one third third of the ball games due to injury. He's a two seventy five hitter who averages twenty seven home runs a year the past two years. Yeah he you know. He's not that young. He's twenty going to be twenty eight when he got like three more years. I think yeah left on this deal. And he also the other thing is a big guy with a long swing like that really we speed up as you get older look breaking down baseball the launch angle whatever. That's the hot stove league. Yes I think a lot. More people are bothered by the Patriots right now. I think they're the evil empire. People have already made up their mind and the Patriots. And I'm GonNa talk to Tony Dungy about this because I don't know if people care about the facts in this situation you've made up your mind and it didn't take this for you to go. You know on second thought I think the Patriots are cheaters. You've either made up your mind. I mean you've made up your mind long long before this. What exactly can you film on the sidelines? Now that you could actually say I'm cheating because everything is. The coach is holding holding up. His you know play sheet up to his mouth and then he talks to the quarterback in his helmet. So what exactly this is in college where you're signaling signaling in things I don't think unless it's defensive signals but I'm not quite sure so I want to ask Tony Dungy about this largest contracts Iraq's by total value so Mike Trout twelve years four hundred twenty six million. bryce Harper Thirteen for three thirty chin. Carlos Carlos Stanton Thirteen three twenty five good God Garrett Cole Nine for three twenty four and then Manny Machado ten years. Three hundred entered million dollars as much as I like the future of the padres. I don't like the future. The padres with Manny Machado. But I do think that they have you know some the foundation there that the padres could be players here in the next two years But I I don't get the Manny Machado love. I think he's talented on these great. But it's for the padres to worry about eight seven seven three. DP show email address. I ep Dan Patrick Dot com coming up. We'll talk to Tony Dungy about this situation with the Patriots. Is it a big deal and I feel like they already admitted that They did something wrong and trying to rectify it and maybe they get off with a kind of a light punishment here. Light by fifty thousand to one hundred hundred thousand dollar fine something like that. But I think the Commissioner is trying to wrap this up and try to wrap this up Maybe before the weekend all right eighteen after the hour. Tony Dungy joins US next next year. Dan Patrick Show okay. This is just a thirty second commercial. And I'M GONNA throw a lot of numbers that you please..

"Talk me you. Don't you just have to trust so. Do you think this is a bridge. That can be divided Tony money and you're kind of a perfect person to ask this because you be. If I recall correctly you counsel Michael Vick. When he was at Leavenworth and Michael Vick was was in jail? Hale and Michael Vick was decide exactly and and and you were there to help bridge a divide that now has Michael Vick on TV. Michael Vick is a correspondent for my show. NFL to grind. He's been on this show If that could be somehow a divided divided bridge put together after what Vick was in jail for house is do you think this could be put together between capper nick and the NFL smell for an NFL team to have him out there. I think it could happen. I'm skeptical that it would happen in Michael Situation. Michael knew that he did something wrong and he had to make amends and he told everyone that he was ready to do anything to make amends. Colin doesn't feel. He's done anything wrong so I don't think he is. Just what you're talking about. Why do I have to go the extra mile? I should just be able to demonstrate my skill Gill and That you know that's not so that's where I think the difference is and that's why I think it's going to be. I never get this resolved doc. I I hear you because again. Colin hasn't been convicted of anything. Let's is easy. Hasn't committed any crime. He's just been very outspoken. And it just that is something that I I I my last for you on this subject is what what advice would you give him. If you did have some sort of moment to to sit down with him I I would just say that You know don't change their convictions. You don't have to change anything but you are going to have to show people that. Hey I really wanNA play in this lake and I'm willing to do my part as a player and a teammate and I'm willing to accept and that's what I don't know are you willing to accept any role at this point. Ah Hey you may not compete for starting quarterback situation. And that's what Michael did Andy. Reid brought him in. He was the backup Donovan mcnabb. There were no promises. must've no hey you're GONNA compete for the starting job in so many months. Were signing. You were giving you an opportunity. He said thank you and he took it so. That's you know what what Colin is going to have to let people know that he's ready to do. And then well it's still work. We don't know there are a number of teams that would just say no no. I don't want the headache. I'M NOT GONNA sign them Let let someone else do that But it was the same in Michael's case he probably had twenty teams. That were not interested interested but all it takes is one Tony. I really appreciate the time. Chiefs' Tyreek Hill reportedly day-to-day after hamstring injury, could return in Week 13 vs. Raiders
"Big Win for the chiefs last night. no doubt about got it and they needed it at have it out of habit. It's in division. It is a road win technically indecision for Kansas City and So check doc box and they needed it but win because guess what. Raiders are out on their heels. Raiders have the same number of losses raiders. Now with the chiefs on their are by week head to New Jersey to take on the jets who have suddenly piece together a couple of wins in a row and this. This will not be easy for Oakland. Oakland and I'm sure gruden will be knocking on wood. If you with me about how difficult you know this Guy Jamal. Adams is and this guy. Darnall just threw four touchdowns but it's a win against a three win team on the road away from tying the chiefs and having a game in in Kansas City with the chiefs coming back from their bye week in week Baker's dozen with the AFC West Online. And I think that's all kinds of delicious. But for the time being the chiefs chiefs did their part to set that up as a possibility the reverse would have been far more difficult for them to handle going into a bye week and sure enough. I was concerned about that turf. There were large chunks of it coming up. tyreek Hill hurt his hamstring. We're assuming zooming he'll be fine after a week off the bye and Mahomes if you told me Christopher Brockman never actually let's flip flip the script if I told you if I told you the dafter Patrick mahomes defending. Mvp of your national the football league that his kneecap was on the side of his right leg. I told you the very next day. Not only would he only missed two games but the chiefs would definitely have him out on the field in Mexico where the game had to be cancelled due to concerns over turf that he would be out there. We would be seeing chunks of turf coming up and he would be the leading rusher of the Kansas City chiefs. What if I told you that fact no chance as what happened sure enough? That's more more more more impressive. Things too is that the chiefs the chiefs only got one hundred. Eighty two passing yards out of mahomes. It was the second least productive night and that statistical category for his entire career the only time in which he has thrown for less in a game was the game I just referred to where the KNEECAP was on the side of his leg and he got knocked out of it. Just after seventy six yards passing. But he had fifty-nine rush yards in the game. CAREER-BEST I'm telling you chiefs fans. You need to find a running game. I don't know maybe it's that other kid Williams who came in for Damian Williams. Maybe IT'S DARYL I duNno. We'll Shawn McCoy. Had some nice runs. You did have to rushing touchdowns not from homes. Last night. I get it to us the bigger phrase I get get it but What what what I need to see from his chiefs team moving forward with old man winter paying a visit more often than not this team it looks like for this team to make the Super Bowl? Not only will they have to win based on things all right now now. Not only will they have to win a wild card weekend home game but they are gonNA have to go into Baltimore or into new New England after winning that home game and beat the Patriots and or Ravens in their houses in a mid January on a presumably very cold mid January day. They are going to have to run the ball. They cannot let Baltimore or and New England pin near years back and go chase mahomes and there will be a dress rehearsal for that actually for the Kansas City chiefs coming up in week fourteen when they visit New England after playing that game against the raiders. There'll be that Dress rehearsal. We'll see how they can fair in that one but they need to find a running game name and right now they don't have somebody that can just carry it fifteen to twenty times a game and give the chiefs the the proper amount of breathing room and the proper amount of play action viability right now. I'm not seeing it. I haven't haven't seen it with consistency and that concerns me about this team's super bowl hopes

"The Indianapolis Colts in thirteen days face the LA Chargers went out Andrew luck and with your cover percept the guy for whom they traded Labor Day weekend at twenty seventeen he started fifteen games that year after being thrust into the mix with no opportunity to learn the offense no opportunity to learn the personnel no opportunity to learn the coaches everything's on the fly for Jacoby per set it was for an eleven which obviously is not an ideal record but he played well under the circumstances and remember twenty seventeen GM Chris Ballard was still trying to dig out from the mess that Ryan Grigson had made from two thousand twelve for two thousand sixteen in Indianapolis so I think there's reason for optimism as they move forward with your cover per set they have resisted all options and opportunities to trade burset elsewhere and now they have him and now he's the guy now Chris Ballard the guy who has compiled this culture Austin made the playoffs last year made the final weight has to cover percent he understands that the office will be different without interlocutors Ballard from Saturday night we're not gonna ask you go we were said to be Angela Angela was a unique unique player but you go we were set is is a winning football player initially and he is an apple I think your would you what Andrew said Cody said is a rare rare leaders he is he's a rare human being man I know look in that moment Chris Ballard needs to say something to inspire confidence in the locker room and beyond that the colts will rebound from this but look at what they rebounded from just in the past couple of years Josh McDaniels fails on a verbal agreement to take over as coach of the team following fifth Super Bowl fifty two bad stunner on a Tuesday night and we had a hard the rumblings that you know what McDaniels may not take that job after all and they didn't and they were covered and they pivoted to Frankreich and Frank Reich has ended up being the guy who maybe should have been at the top of the list from the get go and right there was a thing or two about moving on from disappointment about changing circumstances and adjusting on the fly right was the quarterback of that game in buffalo the comeback for the ages when the Orleans wrote thirty five to three it wasn't Jim Kelly he was injured it was Frank right it was Frank Reich who was the offense of coordinator the Philadelphia Eagles in two thousand seventeen when Carson Wentz suffered a torn ACL in the middle of December the kind of injury that would derail a team's playoff run they pivoted to Nick Foles the cobble together an offense that would work in light of his skills and they won the freaking Super Bowl with Nick Foles that was the final active Frank breaks career in Philadelphia's offense of coordinator he's not going to panic he's not gonna give in he's not going to give up it was three years ago that teddy Bridgewater suffered a torn ACL at a no contact practice it's always no contact quarterbacks just a week or so before the start of the regular season and Mike Zimmer said nobody's gonna shut down the season nobody's gonna cry force we just have to go forward it was not long ago we heard Frankreich explaining that he learned from watching Tony Dungy how to stay even keel in that setting how to be the call in the middle of the storm and the importance of that message sends to the rest of people the organization now since how possible Frank break knew what was coming so already was working himself into that state of call so he could be the beacon of hope and stability for the franchise because he knows that they're going to go into the season without interlock but regardless between Ballard who has put together a top flight roster couple of all pros not just pro bowlers but all pros that were rookies last year and continuing to build continuing to finesse continuing to make that team better and yes it makes that team worse not having interlock but there's a quiet confidence between Ballard and right and also what we've seen from the cover set I'm not gonna write the colts off at look people will write them off they will have no expectations the fall off the radar screen and and and now well one hand the division to the Jaguars with the Jaguars in the Texans act the colts I think we'll still be

"Tony Dungy in the on-deck circle. Booger McFarland and Kirk cousins will stop by last hour spent some time with drew Brees had some interesting things to say that will make some headlines. That's for sure is drew is basic, by the way, the play the controversial play. The no call is called Buckhead and Buckhead is a famous neighborhood here in Atlanta. So it was let's call Buckhead. We're going to the Super Bowl. And of course, it didn't end that way. But through saying look if I can be here talking about that play. Then the Commissioner should have been out there on Monday or Tuesday last week just to say, look, hey, we missed it. We usually get these calls, right? We wanna make sure that these things never happen again. I also want to know why is it that a college football game has more ficials than an NFL get. Why is it we add more empires to a baseball playoff game than we do? In the regular season strengthened numbers. But also, I don't want all star officials all-star teams calling playoff games I want familiarity. I want a team. That's there. That's been there because it's a big game. And I want to rely on you. By the way, we replayed play called Buckhead. This time we through the flag on the play. So I don't know if it's any solace to saints fans. Yes polling that completely fixed it jazz over lately. Wait, what he's able to move past that Brian Urlacher also stopped by we gave him an opportunity to erase one of the more embarrassing moments of his career when Tom Brady juked him in an open field and paulie play the role of Tom Brady. And I think he exercised his demons a little bit there. Yeah. Erlich are very nice guy. He gave me a little pop more of like a gentle hug and rock me to the ground. He was very nice guy. Saquon Barkley pop you pretty good saquon kind of did this shiver thing takes his hands in jam some under your armpit. Yeah. And I now have to circular purple marks are pit areas from saquon Barkley, Dan Patrick show..
Congressman wants NFL Commissioner to testify after no-call game
"Louisiana congressman is hoping to get some answers from the NFL Commissioner USA radio networks. Timberg has the story. Louisiana congressman Cedric Richmond wants NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to come to Capitol Hill. The democrat wants him to talk about the infamous non pass interference call in the NFC championship game that many saints fans believe cost them the game to which former Super Bowl winning coach. Tony dungy? Reminds fans. Well, there have been missed calls bed calls since the beginning or basketball or any other sport. You don't like to sit. I feel the saints fans pain. If it was my home team, I would be upset too. But it's it's a game. It's a sport there is human error. And we life has to go on we have to move faster.

"I'm also curious about this though tone. If you had an official who was right there on the spot in New Orleans with his play. But we've seen plays before where three officials throw a flag on the same play for the same penalty. I'm I was shocked that nobody got together and said, hey, hey, limit. Let's just talk about this here. Because what I saw is like wouldn't you wanna help protect that official. Or is it their egos are at stake? And nobody wants to point out something say, you just missed it. And you're right in front of that play. No. That's the problem that no one talks about and an all star cruise and people who had more with each other. If that was the normal crew, you know, I I'm sure that would have happened someone back just decides somebody would have thrown the flag and say, hey, you didn't sit. But I thought that passing France, let's put the ball here. But you know, it doesn't always work that way. And then the other thing I think we've got to get away from in the playoffs is they don't wanna call thing, you know. And and they don't want to be the the deciding factor. But if it's a penalty in the first quarter, it's company in the fourth quarter. It's penalty in the preseason game. It's. Penalty in the playoffs. And we've got to get back to just call the game as it is. And not saying, well, you know, TV doesn't want penalties. We don't want game. Stop. It's so bad things. Go in the playoffs talking to Tony Dungy NBC football night in America analysts, and of course, hall of fame. Coach Ken Bill. Bella check, be outcoached. I I wouldn't say I'll coast, but there's certainly seems to come up and happened. And you know, just this last game they and the patriots through what they always do. They had a different game plan all sensitive and defense. Kansas City wasn't ready for it. They got the leave fourteen nothing. Andy Reid and his staff made some great adjustments. And they scored thirty one points in the second half. Tom Brady throws a ball just a little bit high off gronkowski hands. And it's intercepted. If d Ford is lined up all sides. They're more say I'll what Andy Reid did a great job of adjusting look at that thirty one points in the second half. Wow. Was that masterful and the different there. So yes, I mean, everybody makes adjustments. I think that's going to be what's going to be on show on McVeigh's plate. He's not sure what type of defense. They're going to run what they're gonna do to take things away..

"Tony Dungy in the continental tire coaches corner. Coach how are you ask more about the Super Bowl matchup or the controversial play in New Orleans? And I guess that's the good thing about football. Then it has everybody's passing. And you know, I feel the pain of the the saints players and their coaches and their fans, but that's football. And I hope we don't overreact to this. There's bad calls. You know, nineteen seventy two people from Oakland still tell me French. If you hit the ball, I hit him. And then I'm in the, you know, university of Minnesota Watson, the fight kings and Dallas, and I still believe drew Pearson. Tocqueville, and it was bad call it happens. It's forty years ago. Okay. And some some of this you just have to let it go. But we can't overreact and start saying we want to replay everything and you want to go to court when the call doesn't go our way, I just I can't buy that. Do you think there's any changes in the offseason? Whether it's plays like this in the last two minutes where you'd get. A challenge flag you could use or is there a change to overtime with the competition committee. I don't I think no on either one. Because in the last two minutes most things are reviewed anyway, if you start bringing judgement calls into what's pass interference. What's holding was the fort really all side or was he just close? Let's let's take a look at that. You know, you're you're opening up Pandora's box. Now, what what change I hope they do make and what I would recommend going to time officials, and let's get some consistency over the whole game. Not just one call here or there. But I I think that's the change we need to look at not looking at reviewing one call and they overtime I'm fine with it. A sense of you gotta stop them. Okay. And remade the change to fill those. So they can't just have to. I kick a fifty yard field goal to win. But but somewhere along the line, you gotta get a stop and get the ball back for your all set. Yeah. I'm there with you. Both of these. I don't want to overreact. It was a bad. Call and overtime. I'm fine. I think overtime worked. I think people have a problem with overtime because the patriots took advantage of it and Brady led them down. Whereas the Rams play defense force the interception and then kicked the field goal. Yeah. But classic classic example, three third and ten and they didn't stop any one of them and New England one long yard situation. The Rams vote up causing interception and were able to win the game. So both teams that lost its all head had opportunities..

"Gets back, they're able to pound the ball, and everybody says, okay, we gotta go back to stop inside run game. You'll say, Bortles put up better numbers. He's Tony Dungy NBC football night in America hall of Famer joining us, Dan, Patrick show. Would you consider this? Is this out of the question that the Jags would call the giants and just ask about ally manning given Tom Coughlin's relationship with ally? What do you think of that possibility. You know it, I think they believe in Blake, Bortles I, I really do. I think they feel like when they've got their formula there, they don't need lie com. Coughlan my present that it might be a win win situation for both thing. It would help John ads out and it probably would help the j.. So I'm just wondering about that because I look at the AFC the NFC you've got the Rams are great. The saints are very good. Who else would you throw in there in the NFC, but I think Minnesota's good Green Bay has the potential to be good when Roz is one hundred percent healthy. But again, I I look at this leaked away at school. And now if you jot the play offense and you gotta be namic, you know, the Carolina Panthers getting to the Super Bowl with a great defense and ten spotty offense. Seattle getting there with those great defense's Denver, getting there. Winning with a great defense. I just don't see that happening anymore. Look at Pittsburgh. Mike Tomlin is a very good defensively. Coach, New England built Eltek is a very good defensive coach. These guys don't have good defenses now, you know what? We can't win that win more. We've got to put all the money on offense. We've gotta get weapons that we've got to outscore people and you're, you're just saying it all over and and I think that's what you have to do. You gotta get a quarterback that can make plays and you gotta be able to put twins on board. If you wanna be a contender. And I just don't see that many dynamic offenses in the AFC. Well, with that being said, with the baggage that lady on bell would bring into the Steelers, do you need him? If you're going to be one of those teams? I think they do. They're getting great play out at same kinda, but he's still not lay on bell and the way they're defensive. They are going to have to put up a ton of points if they play New England or Kansas City. We already slow that against Kansas City. They couldn't keep up with them. Scoring. New England would be the same way so they need lay down bell then need that extra kick in November and December two to give them another weapon, I think then they'd, but how do you use him Tony? If he's all he's going to be counting his touches as if to say, hey, here's a magical number. I don't wanna go above that because I want to protect my body. So I get another contract with another team like that. Yeah, that that's the tough thing. I, I don't know that you can play with a guy who got that attitude. I, it just wouldn't be good. It's it'd be the Jimmy Butler situation in in football, so I don't know what you do, but I think they need him if they're going to be if see champions, but would you want him if you're Mike Tomlin I, we may need him away. Yeah, but I don't know if it could even work. Yeah, I still get the feeling he's going to be traded. I and maybe I'm naive on it. I just it feels like even if he comes, it's going to be weird when he comes in. Because I don't know if he's going to sit out a game because he might not be injury and made his say, you know what? I don't wanna play and then we won't know no there. There there be somebody that that would take him and feel like he would add us what they need to be that dynamic offense. So I think that trade is a possibility tone. Good to talk to you. 'til Rodney and the boys I sent a low and we'll talk to you soon. All right. We'll see you, Dan. Let's Tony Dungy football night America. I just I still feel like the Steelers are gonna move him, but I don't. I don't know what the asking price is..
