"I'm God, he's jewels. Clarity skies over West London. But we have a packed show because there is major movement in La Liga. Madrid fall true round Madrid joules. We have new league leaders in San Diego. I feel like I say that pretty regularly. If you care about that kind of stuff, which happens in March, massive, all the big teams win in the Premier League and a lot of penalties too. But let's start with the Madrid Derby. But I don't know the legal Madrid said I think Real Madrid have now won, was it 9, ten in a row, and all competitions, but I want to start with the fact that they've won in different ways. And in this one, in this game, this was one game the one by being lucky. They won by being good. They won by crushing the opposition. And in this one, they won fair to say by controlling the game and waiting for the stars to make the difference. Yeah, and angelotti was very interesting about this. And I think one of the great things about angel food is how calm he is about everything. But also how honest and how direct there have been times in the past when I think of around the manager said to use this phrase it's becoming recurring now. We play in a low block and we plan the counter attack because I want our forwards at the top of the page to have more space. And I think there have been times over the years when for Real Madrid managers said that he'd be sorted for it because it would be seen as a lack of ambition because it'd be seen as not being progressive. But I shall see so matter of fact about it. But it's that it's accepted. It's accepted that these are the qualities that we have. These are the things that make us most dangerous. And that's fine. And I think you're right, if you look at this run, it's a 14 day run that has basically won real mentally. And obviously the long way to go and all that sort of stuff, the normal car they have to be live. But they've beaten athletic, but they also add severe Athletico. And, of course, in that run, they've also beaten into Milan. The last two weeks, when it's mattered, they played the same starting 11 every time they've been able to and they have one games in different ways you say, occasionally fortunate occasionally on the break occasionally group control. And this game was kind of a combination of all of those things. We'll talk about control. You talk about moderates and Tony crews and midfield. There's a whole issue with rotation, which we'll get into later with said. But Monday is 36 years old. He's being chased by Atlantis reputation being so physical running around when you ragged. And they look like kids out there right now. He looked like. He looked, he just had a couple of seconds. It was a couple of seconds ahead of everybody. It's almost like he was seeing what would happen to seconds later before anyone else. And it was just brilliant to see him. I think in a setup, like I said, a new explained suits him far more than maybe a lot of running and a lot of intensity and going up and down all the time. I think this is perfect for him. And for Tony Cruz to a certain extent, but certainly for modular ice age and considering his game, I just thought it was magnificent. And I think when you play against him in that kind of form, and remember, you have so much control, it's just very hard to regain that control. Said, I want you to help me understand at lately a little better. And Diego Simone, 'cause I'm a massive fan. I'm one of the people who drank the Kool-Aid and really believe that we're getting through two because they have so many talented players and everything. And then I see this game and I see that even defensively, I couldn't quite work out what they're set up was at the start of the game. With conducive playing further back, I don't know if he was trying to be clever. It feels like nothing he tries works and when they do get points, it's because of carra or it's a grit or moments or individuals. It's possible to answer the big question. He was playing a sense about him just no savage. He was only really going to have a huge amount of choice but to play in their local state could have played with only two center backs instead of three of them. It was actually a back four with your sense back and also a left back and Carrasco playing this hybrid roll, but that's quite often the case with athletic. It's not a clear cut formation. In terms of Simeone, I think there isn't a club with the obvious exception of Barcelona where there's a recession about identity. Where we've talked so much about identity or shifting identity or losing identity over the last three or four years of Athletico. And it's partly as you say, because this idea that Simeone now has different types of players have to find a different way. But maybe he doesn't fully believe in it or maybe the players don't fully believe in some of the things that he says. But I think in a way, I think we allow ourselves to be dragged into that perhaps more than is really the case, because for example, this year, I bet I just problem, isn't it there? People keep saying they've got to be more expansive. They've got to attack more. They've got players to play differently. They're probably shares. I haven't done the old things well. They're not defending well. They're not protecting themselves well. They're not that team they once were. There's a nice line by who's going to supporting columnist el mundo today. And he said, you know, what used to be a bulldog is now kenichi wearing Prada. And that's kind of part of the problem that this is sort of identity thing. And there's this sort of disconnect between what they were or what they thought they were. And what they're becoming. And in a way, you can look at this this year, and possibly say I think this might be stretching a little bit, but I think there's some merit in it. Say that is kind of become a victim of abundance that it almost worked better when there was this kind of underdog idea. Either by bringing more players in, that's created a need to shift with the shifter structure, try and find a place for Rodrigo to pull try and find a place for Antoine Griezmann. And that changes things..

"Going on guys. Welcome to another episode of bro history. And ten reason moda and danny abell jabbar. Danny how are you happy birthday. My friend thank you man. I'm chilling as per usual one year older one more revolution around the sun. You know it goes. Oh yeah getting older. Time is passing and danny gets older day by day. We all get older day day. So we were going to do an episode on columbus day because this episode would be released. Well either sunday and monday for some people but danny didn't want to do a columbus day episode because according to danny columbus christopher columbus the daddy of our nation. The daddy of america was a genocidal maniac. Right i mean you know you say racist genocide. Day he he's a he's a rapist and murderer in a and charlatan a liar and in finding shit and he all of his achievements were done by accident or by violence. So yeah like how. Un-american this guy sounds everyone un-american he didn't even go to the united states use our nation's daddy no. You're you know what you are. You're an anti italian okay. Let's that's for sure. Anti italian a columbus day. What the fog. I'm down to do like a leaf. Eric's day show like vikings came over here. Well you don't know what harder than the italians as we want your laborers and if he would take your fucking a marrying into an italian family by the way you gotta watch. Sopranos episode of tony's crew upset about A bunch of native americans protesting christopher columbus day parade. Very funny so like if if we are at least honest about columbus history i be i be okay with like taking him as a as an explorer and as like a an interesting figure in in in history that definitely helped to shape In our our time now but The way that we the way that at least the us teaches about columbus straight wrong and it doesn't acknowledge the nasty shit that he did so you know it just seems disingenuous. That's all for me. You know like i'm not. I'm not super up in arms about it like Care that much but you know we should be honest about what the the real history of christopher columbus. Just be honest about it so we can have a conversation about it. You know we can doing it. We can respect him for his achievements but we also have to be honest about the shit that he did that was fucked up. And that's what we're going to be doing. We're going to be doing an honest conversation about something else. That's completely unrelated. So yeah i guess it's kind of a weird segue but today's episode. If you guessed by the title of the show is not going to be about. Christopher columbus is going to be about..

"Hey, yeah, yeah. In 2000 and one. Thank you. Thank you. Such a good stuff, isn't it? Fantastic. Okay might be a bit everyone was shaking their Polaroid pictures at night. Yeah, So okay at the 2000 and one Grammys, the LGBT. There was no Q back in 2000 and one was up in arms over the lyrics penned by Eminem for the Marshall Mathers LP. And when he was announced as a performer at the 2001 Grammy Awards. Uh, glad protested the decision and then response. Eminem reached out course nobody knew this at the time to Elton John to perform Eminem, Stan. At the Grammys and glad picketed outside. They were very, very mad, but the musicians hugged at the end, and Eminem turned to the camera and gave it the middle finger. I do remember that? Yeah. Member when he came down from the crowd with everybody in the white jacket. Oh, yeah, Remember, and we find out from Elton John's book that he's the great Eminem. Yeah. Yeah, So anyway, that was like a big I don't know that my name was sober back then in 2000 and maybe not know he was definitely was not. He had a he had a couple relapses, even called an album relapse due to his relapse. I was at that. Maybe that's when they first like, really had a connect, right? That's what I'm thinking, too, for this thing, because Elton John and I could see him be understanding of what a great way for your works. Yeah, And what a great way for Eminem to deal with it, right? Right. And then I mean, I'm not going to do like the obvious one like Adele Dazeem and Kanye West and whatever body will just give you one that you might have forgotten about. This is, um so I have to just take you back in 1991 at the height of poisons Popularity Every Rose has its thorn you know, on skinny Bob alcohol, drug abuse, women groupies, Bret Michaels, lead singer and guitar CC developed. They broke up at the MTV EMAs. As they walked off the stage with Cindy Crawford and Eddie Van Halen. They broke out in a full on fist fight. Oh, okay. Oh, and that led CC developed leaving poison. I mean, it's okay. And then flash. I know that's not even then visit. No flash. That's that's that book. Bill Bell devolved. Yeah, Devote. Yeah, That's I mean, yeah, that's a great time. I love that soccer flash forward to 2000 and nine in the Tony Awards were Brent Michaels is performing nothing but a good time with the cast of Broadway's Rock of ages. And it's you know, we know that it's about the over the top eighties metal. And at the end of that Tony performance, Bret Michaels was knocked to the ground by a descending piece of scenery. Yes, the Tony's crew said he missed his mark and Neil Patrick Harris as seconded that statement saying, Oh, hey, Brett just gave a whole that being in a whole new meaning. In the meantime, he broke his He clapped back and said the very next day. I was never given a mark, right. He was mad. They blamed it on him. And, you know, he went on to sue the show and CBS over the incident and they did settle with him. Good for him. Shocking. That was we were just like what happened. Was that part of great, right? Oh, don't get married. All right, we'll be we'll be right back. We.

"We did a good paul caused throughout the tournament. Good tournament as well. Some really good games in Four or five games. I would say would stand out for game at a tournament and you don't usually get that obviously as we go down to the late stages is predictable where you tend to get that cajun but three on this cashing for the semi's on the final. I thought they were all games for the final was. They sent obviously a attention Tension in the england game. Perhaps that was an old felt by the neutrals. And i really really great game between italy and spy despite being a one. Oh i think technically that may have been the best game tournament. Obviously a lot of people will look at that. Incredible game between france and switzerland and on the same day spain and croatia in the group stages we saw a germany team outplayed portugal and beaten and by full goes to two so lots of good games in its lots of good performances. Lots of underperforms as well some of the big names just not turn out for him. Was that because we're coming off the back of a long season disappointing performance. That i could die. Can highlight would be fernandez. would be That would be certainly killing them. Who i think has to be the stand out one. Because he's such a big face that was linked to his tournament and he's faced is gonna once again a pair on the fee for cover which is which is which is crazy to me. They'll underperformance drought listens hartshorn. There's no need to come through and everybody but instead will focus on the plays. That really did stand out for england. There were there. Were a number of players as i mentioned phillips Phillips rice shaw mcguire. I think what a standout. So i think england were disappointing. The attacking end. Obviously you can hardly the lack of contributions from greyish from fighter in rockford sancho. But they didn't get the time to do it so it's difficult to criticize those plays whereas when you criticizing the germany team that went out in the last sixteen that was gain time for the likes of habits and gabri and and tony crews and just generally the underperforming this german team and on the performing the fringe team and the underperformed in belgium tame disappointing tournaments for the point and has ought again. It's difficult to say where we're has always going to be playing next season so there were some disappointing performance. As i said let's concentrate on the good performances and they do come from teams that got the performances from from demar from the likes of koi bug bug Kospi schmeichal looking at patrick schick the czech republic looking at italy team that guided italy to the victory. You're looking at banou in chile. And he's still getting it done. At their ages. We saw the emergence of spin his owner. Who edge luke. Shaw out of the deal. I eleven for the for the final team tournaments but zola. Got the nod over luke sure. Despite being injured we had variety and georgina in the midfield not much in its hack point performances from a mobile ed. He was another one. That was disappointing..

"A s good morning. I'm Tony Crew. 7 15 Jim Ryan's with ABC News in the great State of Texas joining us this morning after we had some Democrats walk out of a special election. At the State House yesterday. No, and did they walk out? They flew out, Jim. Good morning. What's the most of the details? Jelly did. The major came up again. We knew it would because the governor had said that it was during this special session of the Texas Legislature. The first special session after the regular session ended in May without a vote on this controversial package of election related Bills County. This would roll back some of the procedures that were put in place during the pandemic. The Harris County Houston, Specifically, voters had 24 hour voting locations. They had drive through polling places. They had other measures that were intended to keep people separated, but to allow greater Voter access, and, in fact, terrorist county had the record voter turnout for the 2020 general election In November. The Republicans gathered and they said, Look, you can't do that. You can't simply change the rules of elections. To suit even a pandemic. And so they say that that can't be done. I think they want to roll back those procedures. That's what's basically included in this package of stuff proposals. The Democrats say that look anything that improves voter turnout that increases that Is worth it. And so they want to keep that in place anyway. I mean, the Democrats are badly outnumbered in the Texas Legislature. So rather than vote on this and surely lose the Democrats about 50 of them have flown to Washington. They did this in 2000 and three as well, Tony, but they just jumped over the line into Oklahoma, where Texas troopers couldn't come and get them This time they've got to Washington. Why Washington. Well, because of the administration, that's in place. They found a lot of okay. Yeah, Vice President Kamala Harris. They're going to take part in some voter rights, their demonstrations or protests or something. There's some sort of events today. And so I think that was kind of the perfect confluence there. So I hear a lot about new requirements for people voting by mail. One of those was you have to actually request To vote by mail. Were those given out before. I mean, if you know Jim Ryan, you're living where you live in Texas. Did you already get a ballot every time or or or what? Well, some counties put that into place to Harris County. This is really Kind of a political row between the conservative governor of Texas and the conservative Legislature and liberal places like Houston, which is that a pretty liberal planning the biggest city and And the most minority voters and you know, liberal leadership down there, so I think it's really it kind of pits those two forces against each other than in Harris County. People will receive ballots by mail. And unsolicited. That's another big problem that the Republican candidate you can't simply mail out mass mail out, uh of ballots. There was no indication of any fraud related to that. But the Republicans say that that opens up the possibility Yeah, well again, there's conjecture here. I think it's safe to say on on both sides. I mean, you know voter ideas very, very unpopular with some progressives. On the other hand, I think we all want to make sure that people are actually citizens of the United States to vote so we can get into that debate forever and ever and it still is, is a big issue. So I don't know what's going to change her, if anything, Jim. But what happens now? Can when the Democrats come back Why did we lose him? Oh, he had to go. I'm sorry about that. So we'll see what happens when the Dems get get back there. Yeah, if they were in state, though, As I understand it, the Texas Rangers could go get them and say, Get back into the house..

"Jerry's writing firm a lot and child's very complimentary Very helpful with them. So you'll see jerry chow. Move up into writing standing next year and Maybe even start. Threatening the top. Two couple coupla horses that that have emerged. Recently steve california spangled one has first start in a griffin race. Five furlongs fifty five and change the fastest griffin race ever five. He came back and another griffin race. Which meant he kept. He picked up seven pounds and he ran away. Point four seven. It's a spectacular look. Good doing it He's going to be enormous. Next year. For tony crews. They're going to kill them over the summer. So he'll come back as a gelding so he'll be around for quite a while and He just has just enormous talent. Still green still has lots to learn the watch. The name california spangled and then last sunday. A shot in his name mr snowden One seven and one twenty point five seven and did it from post. Fourteen horse was good in europe. Now over here and So just spectacular final time one of the fastest of the whole meet sunday. We're at shot ten for the final time. We're going to go to race side. Which the i thaw gives a page one which is a twelve hundred meter class for the bunch of second time start is in there. The look really good but i'm gonna go at fly dragon number six for dennis yet. The neil callan callans leave in hong kong gone back to ireland. But he's been finishing up very strongly. In fact he rides california spangled. This horse was way way back in a Thousand meter straightaway. Got up to second big horse over twelve hundred pounds now. He strikes without the twelve hundred meters jaws post seven which should be perfect. I think he'll improved greatly. Second time out the flying dragon on the six and five then race eight. There are no stake races saturday night with a couple of big three million dollar. Hong kong Handicaps this is the shot ten mile trophy handicap. Race number eight Ninety up to one hundred fifteen so davis stakes quality horses number two ratan spending against just tough horse bannon. Smith's for the japanese horse who won in december wellington. A one. this guy. Phil wanted a better four euros. So ratan gets a class drop Lot more less rated horses in this field. The only one a higher rate of the one champions. Why so i think number two matan can finish out his season on a winning note and coincidently he gets read out apprentice jerry chow so he gets five pounds off. He's only carry one hundred twenty four pounds so race. Eight number two hand and that's a look at the last shot ten next week we can talk about the left Happy valley wrap up to see. Very nice has been a goodyear. It's fun fun season. I it's amazing as long as it is. You know it's an what eight and a half months it it still it kind of goes by fast it. It comes back quick But then you look up and and you know when i think it's probably because during the triple crown you know we it kind of you know you. You're so distracted. And then all of a sudden you we wrap up and we start looking toward saratoga del mar and and then you know their seasons ending so it's been It's been good so we'll we'll wrap it all up next year at the right time for me. I that's right absolutely The it puts us right on the doorstep of Of saratoga and del mar deck. I appreciate it and all the other topics is always and will start to Look toward the spa and Turfan where the the action that west to and we also i one thing we haven't done The last couple of years. He's never happy. This guy's never never satisfied. He's always pissed off at somebody you know and i really think like tony. Soprano he needs to do some work on himself. He needs to really work on. Mindfulness you know and gratitude. Mindfulness and gratitude for tony montana. That's that's that's what i think but sorry we thank you thank you. I talking about the the generation of directors came of age in in the seventy s. And yeah they say doing l. pacino impression. Flawless was like what would you say in that situation. I don't know i feel like this. Meditation is put in for me. I mean mark did you ever actually the cinematography of the movie. I did that the shot that you mentioned before is a gorgeous shot on add like the neon reflecting onto the street as well as like just like you're just elation of eighty s lewdness as you can get the wet street with a wet actually. Don't know who shot this. i'm gonna look it up but yeah the oh my god the wet the wet street anyway. Yeah yeah. I want to talk about the particular really notice that the camera year is like really is very intentionally trying to do something but kind of grasping around a little bit trying to figure out what exactly it was. It is The scene As forementioned Lead up to the aforementioned chainsaw scene where they got other car tony and his accomplice get out of the car and they send. I believe two flights of stairs so you know first floor second floor third floor and the camera is expertly tracking them up as they go. You guys aren't really yes. Yes yes yes so i my brain is looking at this. Like this is very notable right like a million different ways. You could shoot this but this one in particular. They had to go out a lot. They clearly weren't there a lot of trouble to get this way and it feels good and it's something but i'm not entirely sure what it is. He doesn't pack from a well. There's a few different angles to it. I think the one what angle that i liked when i saw it. And this just might have been me reading into. It was that when tony and his an angel climb the stairs they climb the stairs right. They're focused on climbing the stairs. But when manny climbs the stairs he sends the other guy around to the side because he anticipates that somebody else might also wanna climb stairs. And so as a result of tony and angel climbing the stairs kind of not looking back and not looking sideways. Kind of bowling forward. They end up getting ambushed by other people who are also climbing the stairs behind them. And i thought that sir but that's that's sort of like that's not the purpose of is shot because you have to give it the old stanley fish treatment and recognize that that extra information from manny doesn't arrive until later in this shot. It's almost feels like they're in a honeycomb writer an insect habitats right. It's like it's like daito in the bees in the near where they've arrived at the city. Where these like things have been built and they're scaling them right and there are other seeing all the activity around them in their kind of joining. It I mean yeah i guess i mean the simple thing. Is that bhai climbing by by by going into and going up there's more action right to go in and go up Everything there's a lot of spaces that have concentric layers that matt already referred to the diner but other places right kind of expand outward but then once you get inward you have to go upward right and so what you don't recognize that with the upward. This comes danger comes dehumanisation right comes. You know the the various social crimes social sins that the side is is sort of engaged in. I mean how many different tall places are there in the movie that are bad. I mean bolivia right a helicopter helicopter. Don't go in ellicott through good after. That's the highest place where the worst things happen right. I mean tony's tony's own temple of a theme nikkei right which is. I think what they are architectural inspiration. For tony's house is is the temple of victory right if sat instead of saying it says the world is yours right right right exactly so yeah i mean i would say yeah that that that there's both going in and going up and it does recall old new. Are you know gangster movies where there are lots of gunfights staircases. But it's new because you can see from the outside Which is not something. That's i mean. I guess you could do it. A fire risk. But that's a different vibe to it. I know matt. What did you think that shot. So i think that like think about like what the camera is and kind of what it represents in terms of what it does right and and is the chemical like a narrator where you know. Sometimes it's a first person narrator and you only see things that are kind of point of view or very close to point of view limited to one character like that. You know that is one way to do it. Another is that it's sort of a. It's more theatrical. You know. it's a third person thing and it shows you just. It shows you kind of objective an objective. Look at what's going on. You know maybe in a wide shot and you see the different people acting and it sort of is not. The photography is not preferential two to one point of view or another and then maybe like a further her way down this continuum. There's a camera that's like curious and is is almost independent right and and so here. It's i think mark like the interesting thing is that that is i. Think one of two two or three similar shots kind of crane type shots where we go down from the second floor motel room where this thing is taking place Where this kind of botched drug dealers taking place to To the car where who who many sitting in the car right and he's flirting with someone with women's walking by in a bikini and like not really paying attention and it's kind of like as you've seen you know the the the the accomplices show up behind Behind tony where he stabbed her behind. Tony's crew guy where he standing in the in the doorway. You know the the You see the the sort of the others. Who are they colombians. In this case. I think like just sort of showing up in the like that. Silhouette behind him prefiguring the end of the movie a little bit by the way like your your mind is thinking. Well what is what's going on. Like what is What where is the backup that tony wisely asked to sort of so wait in the car and keep and you know then. The camera floats back down to to the car. It's it's almost like it's sort of manifestation of your anxiety you know of like or of where you want to look and it does a couple things one is sort of tracks what you're thinking about..

And we'll see if he's good enough turning from all interesting way steve. There's a bunch of horses that a listed as time starters but they have older suits form so they haven't raised in hong kong but unlike The first time started that we get in quest for which started out at fifty two rating and and they have not raised least anywhere. Poets have elsewhere but they're making their hong kong abuse Their rank waited seven. Seventy three seventy five seventy five Been hazed paul sullivan bug light. So the role of good trainers and they all have. Some decent form beat australia or great britain and hong kong program to 'em has all the information about the previous right so usually take a while to adjust but the train is give them lots of time when they ship in the they rarely ship and try to be a classic legend did should then and then go right into the raises. The twin many of them three million dollars hong kong kerr's which is clear point thousand. Us dollars for a solid race. That's not the degree and that raise cannot kind of strange when you look at it. There's only seven in the race but the one artist kingshill but highway one hundred thirty three pounds the next highway one hundred twenty one so we got two hundred nine related works and then it drops down the ninety seven kingshill has means class edge in that field. I'm sure he'll be savored with dot cotton and cranky more and they're gonna go sixteen sixty two time basically a two mile shot ten. And that's on the all weather also Horse i like couple of. I liked the sunday race. Four crown avenue now. This is an all weather race. And when i do my data hard spun the. Us shows up constantly and move all why the rights of the extremely well round avenue is a sign of hard spiny one. Four times on the all weather he was a good even third last time out going The two tons of some sixteen thirteen right back again. Antoine hamlin then yet has all the right ingredients. Stores posted a math that bad in a field of fourteen and he has enough pay per se in the half of the first half of the field so race for them and seven crown avenue a little siren although would hard spun. Rain seven Number four metro warrior. David hayes horse Who gets jerry child. Jerry child continues to ride extremely well. He's still getting seven pound apprentice allowance. Which is just a big big issue. That's one had been kinda paula drawn. His last couple starts so drop some way he gets a little bit better drawn going nine from the nine thousand meters so that's not really relevant on the fact that it's probably a positive being closer to the outer rail stand side saw metro warriors. David hayes does have some speed not not breakneck speed. But i think he'll be upper involved early and i think what the apprentice allowance. That'll be enough to get him home. And seven four metro warrior and then rates. Ten is a class twee gone. Fourteen hundred meters and number eight calming excellent. Joe moreira tony crews.
