"Your fellow democrat representative. Eliza slatkin of michigan told politico. Recently that the brand of the national democratic party is mushy. That people don't know what the party stands for. What it's about do you agree. Oh i i have a lot of respect for her for my friend in know i. I wouldn't agree with that though. I i think that i believe in the party of john kennedy and barack obama. I believe in the party of harry. Truman and franklin roosevelt. I don't think there's a thing mushy about that. I think these were leaders who stood for progressive change in their time. That's who we are. That's what that's what we're about we can do that again. And i think that the solutions are all around us but it starts with having someone at the triple c. Who is humble enough to listen to everyone to take seriously their opinions and to run a rigorous after action process. That really gets some answers so we can have a shared understanding new battle plan and we can win what congressman it does sound like you are willing to criticize at least some ways that the party has been run over the past years. You've said that the triple c. itself is stuck in the past. So how so would you change. Well as my mom likes to say. I'd rather light a candle than curse the darkness. I think there's always things we can do better. And that doesn't take away from all the hard work that's been done now but yes. We can raise our game in the space of digital and social media communications. We can do better on that. I think we can look at what went well in two thousand eighteen particularly the exciting things that happened with women voters with people of color. The african american community and places like georgia where organizing and community engagement. I think delivered that state. We need to learn from those strategies. I think we have become too good at at big money and big tv ads and not as good as being on the ground In in the community doing the old fashioned organizing work that worked well in the civil rights movement and the labor rights movement and the lgbt equality movement. That's that's who we are. I think that's particularly true in certain latino communities where we need to understand the full diversity of those many different communities and have some cultural competence and the way we engage there. It's why i'm proud. That people like borana. Escobar and linda sanchez have joined my campaign. And we elevate those issues so there's many things we can do better well to the point. You're trying to make their congressmen. We just spoke with representative tony cardenas. A spanish speaking person from california. Who's making a lot of the points you are. Why wouldn't he be better to do that kind of outreach considering his background i don't take anything away from my friend tony cardenas. I think he'd be a very effective on that project. In particular i think latina's like roenick escobar and then to sanchez will have the lead for me on those issues and would be equally effective and there are other very important issues as well. We need to have a real fifty state strategy for redistricting. That's very important. We need to fix our polling data and registered voters and expanding the electorate. I have a plan for that. So there's a lot that goes into selecting the next d triple c chair but it doesn't mean my opponent doesn't have something to offer. I'm we're friends and classmates from two.

"Ideas like Medicare for all of $15 minimum wage and aggressively curbing climate change, and that's what we did over and over and over again. That led to this huge turnout of young people, black and brown and immigrant voters that delivered US victories in these key states. But moderates say big progressive turnout in cities and suburbs may drive up Democrats numbers in statewide and presidential races. But in their closely divided district's some progressive messages can turn toxic Abigail Span Burger was narrowly reelected in Virginia district that went for Republicans from 1971 until she won in 2018. He says Democrats need to focus more on Proactiv messages and passing bills that speak to people like funding for education and expanded rural broadband. And when it comes to big issues like police reform, she says, Democrats need to stick to talking about policies, not slogans. People know what the verb defined means. And I have had people just across the spectrum say that they don't want to see our local police departments to funded, she says. The police reform bill Democrats passed didn't defend the police. "Tweets. Tweet tweet. Oh. Earlier. We we read you the tweet about how other people are writing books about what he should be doing. And he ended that tweet by saying I take back. I sit back I look around. And I say, gee, I'm in the White House, and they're not which I just made me laugh. Just after that. He did he did he's done a lot of tweets morning. But just after that he did to tweets in a row. The first one was large sections of wall wall is in all caps every time. He he uses the word large sections of wall have already been built with much more either under construction. Herb ready to go renovation of existing walls is also a very big part of the plan to finally after many decades properly secure our border. The wall is getting done one way or another. He's up. He followed that up immediately with a tweet. Let's just call them walls from now on and stop playing political games. A wall is a wall. All right. Okay. All right. I actually, okay. That he laid it out. I mean, I actually, but it's a it's a it's a physical barrier. I know this this has been the sticking point. Right. It'd be maybe we call it a fence, right? But this has been the sticking point. I mean, I really, and I've mentioned this many times that I felt like it was appealed to the base and helped him win the election. I felt that the constant referring to it as a wall didn't end up benefiting him because they just everybody just get stuck on that you just get stuck on wall. You don't you don't. He Nancy Pelosi gets to play this little game of look we'll fund border security, but not a wall, right? And is the difference. He moved over to physical barrier. He changed the the way that he was describing it right to have a be a little bit more nuance because it is it's not a wall in every location some locations. It is a physical barrier. Other locations, it's an actual using technology to be able to to to to keep an eye on certain areas, where a any type of infrastructure just isn't feasible all that being said, I kind of appreciate the fact that he's like, let's just call it a wall listen to stop because the other way wasn't working either. It didn't matter. It doesn't matter. What he calls it. So I'd rather just stick with wall. And just leave it at that. And make that be the all purpose phrase for border security of what we're looking at. Because you know, I was wrong in thinking that being nuanced and being specific and getting away from wall was actually going to make a difference for the left. No, no. Because it's not about like, I've said a million times is that old shut down this whole standoff. It's not really about border security. It's about beating Trump. Yeah. That's all. That's all. This is about there's not letting Trump get a win. That's Nancy Pelosi's entire mission as speaker. And it doesn't matter what the issue is whether it's border security, whatever it is. It doesn't matter if they think that passing something might give Trump something he can laud celebrate brag about or or make his supporters happy are simply not going to do it. Nope. I mean, it's all about twenty twenty. That's it. Free beacon House Democrats yesterday rejected a Republican proposal to add a provision that would block federal employees who were disciplined for sexual misconduct to receive the same pay raise as the rest of their colleagues. Republicans attempts in seem like something that would be all that controversial. No, no. The the Democrats want to give every all these federal employees a pay raise your point six race. They wanna give them a two point six percent raise Republicans offered a proposal or an amendment to that proposal disciplined saying if you have been disciplined for sexual misconduct, then you're not going to get a raise. Right. I mean, they should have gone so far as to say if you've been disciplined for sexual misconduct, you're out bright. But they didn't is it. You're not going to get a raise. Got soundly defeated. Yeah. The House Democrats received support from seventeen Dem's, but it was rejected on two on to sixteen to two six vote, by the way names, like Angie, Craig, Colin Petersen, Alexandria, Cossio, Cortez, and Ilhan, Omar all voted against it. Yeah. Angie, Craig Collin Peterson AFC and and Representative John Omaha voted no they wanna give raises to people who have been accused of sexual not accused discipline discipline of sexual misconduct. Raises? Yes. To those why I don't know. Somebody should ask the McCollum is also on there. Okay. Also on their a spokesperson for House Republican leader. Kevin McCarthy slammed the Bill ahead of the vote to adopt the amend amendment on sexual misconduct. Washington democrat as Washington Democrats continue their ill-advised push for unilateral pay raises for federal employees, regardless of their performance Republicans continued to as Democrats to amend their legislation. Currently this Bill treats victims the same as their harassers. This makes no sense. Phillips, also appears to be. Vote. Yeah. Okay. All of the Minnesota Democrats refuse are struck down. A proposal that would have would have prevented those from getting disciplined of sexual misconduct from getting a raise all of Minnesota's Republican congressional representatives voted in favor. It was very much a party line vote. I mean, it was what was it? It was you mentioned seventeen seventeen Democrats voted. Yes. Two hundred and fifteen no one Republican voted no one hundred eighty nine Republicans voted. Yes. Failed to oh. Six to sixteen to give raises to people disciplined of sexual misconduct. Hashtag me too. Yeah. One member who opposed the proposal. This is not surprise Representative Tony Cardenas democrat of California. That was the guy that was sued last year by the woman who says he dragged he drugged and groped her. When she was sixteen years old. Is chaired the vote for the Democrats that must've been awkward and weird. That'll be it was it was. They just don't care. Clearly point drug to women in groped her. Call his bluff, finally, please just at the expense of so many people in that is unfortunate. I did read that Mitch McConnell. Is starting his sort of behind the scenes machinations. I think he understands I am like, holy speculating here. I think he understands ought some level. There is a remarkable opportunity for Republicans to get a lot of immigration reform that most of them think is a good idea, but are scared to do because of the base of the Republican party. They could get it done here in the name of getting our coastguard paid in the name of getting the government reopen. They could make compromises that. They have been afraid to make in other contexts and get this thing done and all of us be better for it. This doesn't have to have happened in vain. Now, this is a stupid way to get us there. But here we are in stupid land. So can we make the best of it? And I wish that they would just get to work on that you could have pretty good immigration reform done here as a compromise and away for some. "Single. Got. And we do want to be fair to Senator Menendez. There have been hours of meetings. There was hours of meetings yesterday before their flight they did six hours on Sunday. We did talk to congressman from California Tony Cardenas, and he was more than happy to defend the decision to come down here. Amidst this partial government shutdown and it's important for people to understand understanding. Yes. A shutdown is going on in Washington. But as you can see people are living and thriving and trying to survive here. What to say I love that. Of course, we we're quite aware. There's a shutdown in in in the government. But as you can see here in Puerto Rico people are living in thriving. Again, they don't they don't work for the government. And you're not doing anything to help open it up. You're just sitting on the beach and San Juan, and it's our job to come here touch feel and understand what has been going to. No, it's not. No, it's not it's called the J U N K E junket. And that's what they're doing down here. But again, this is more than one hundred lobbyists here in, you know, the optics of it not so sure it look too good. It's the shutdown with all these people not getting their paychecks one hundred lobbyists shoot. That's nothing. Let's go to will in Denver will with Michael Brown. Once you got will. Your question. Well, it's not really a latency issue. The issue of of being able to simulcast on YouTube and Facebook simultaneously. I like what you said about splitting the audio video. I've been out of the game. For awhile used to be on your engineer. I can't do anything about your video feed. But as far as your audio feed. You could actually reduce your buffer solace. It's possible. A delay software to one of your signals. But the ten millisecond thirty will with all with all due respect. We don't have an audio latency issue. Okay. The PR the pro the maybe I didn't specify clearly enough. What the problem? The problem is that we we have the inability to simulcast both audio and video to Facebook live and YouTube at the same time. I said that. Going along the lines of what you had mentioned about doing two, laptops, and splitting the seed. Well, we we we wouldn't fit. We wouldn't split the feed of the audio because the audio comes right out of the boards. I mean, that's the audio is what you hear coming right out of these microphones the I was thinking about doing a split of the audio Emam sorry of the camera feed. Okay. Well, yeah, I'm sorry. I might have jumped ahead on there for a little while. All right. Well, thanks for trying though. Appreciate it. It was totally helpful. The thanks for trying. Thanks for playing. Maybe it's just trying to get that free. Burger I promised speaking of Facebook, not being able to let a simulcast Facebook's also tech giant Samsung is undefined at the moment for making it impossible to delete the Facebook cap, and you have a Samsung phone or lifelong. I have a pixel what's up that a Google? Yeah. It's fun from its snowball things. Yes. Families out don't like it. Why does Facebook have their clutches in every segment of our media? I dumped Facebook over a year ago, and I don't want it. Why am I not able to delete the Facebook app from my s seven edge the app is the privacy threat, if I can delete it will be they lost some some product I ever own isn't this the very definition of malware? Why would anyone choose hardware that forces you to run unwanted software? Well, he prince stole ads can only be disabled and not actually removed from devices an ass. Thanks to a deal between Samsung and Facebook social media platform claims though that the disabling the app is good is deleting it in terms of privacy, all peak long convinced by that especially in light of recent scandals surrounding Facebook. I know that clips about Samsung, and the fact that you can't delete the Facebook app off your Samsung phone, and I find that interesting. But you what I find more interesting. What do you think it is Angie? What I like to pronounce the the pronunciation of privacy. Okay. Don't you think that sounds much more sophisticated than privacy?
