I find later in an auction rather than maybe more early middle part of an auction and so when i hear that that list of players that name guys that generated buzz the one guy. I'll probably be nominating a little bit earlier. Just to see if i can. Maybe catch him as antonio gibson. He's a guy who's going for about forty forty one bucks the options i've seen where i'm really just. I don't know if he's necessarily going to reach that price. But i'm really scared not to own them this year given the upside. It's it's sort of like if you look at other running backs at that tier. You're looking at nick charles. Jonathan taylor where you know there's no feasible scenario where they're gonna be big time. I think there's a tear of wide receivers this year. That are schuman's for pass catching volume that just because they're a little bit boring you know they're not gonna never gonna be top ten type options that people just don't like paying for so if i start off with your top five running backs i'm going to be targeting guys. You know fit that mold of high volume players like robbie anderson. You know marvin jones tyler boyd. I've seen these guys go for anywhere between six and eight dollars and and it just seems like a really cheap way to still not get too far behind the wide receiver. Position if you're if you are starting early at the if you are starting with a big guns at the running back position yet leoni this strikes me as our edge right whereas maybe we can spend a dollar or two or five more on the top. And it's these boring guys but we know they're solid through our projections through our rankings. That are actually the best values where you're saving five six seven dollars on these guys. Juju smith schuster for six bucks or something like that strikes me as an amazing deal right. You see what. I'm saying there about kind of the quote boring guys. Yeah i mean. That's what i did this auction. I did where. I probably made the mistake of getting not enough studs early but i sort of i made up for it in a way by just getting so much value on. Judas got some height but like the whole fifth to seventh-round wide receiver group. Chris mentioned robbie anderson. tyler boyd. Those are two is that once sub ten dollars we have were like fifteen ish dollar players Depots in that year to like Down a lot of the high and you can just go up. Go down to depot for half the price. I think like just before that. There's a handful of guys that a really solid that you feel good about starting right on the gate. Where if you got one high end running back. Maybe two is wrong. Receivers you could get like four guy is in this tier and feel really good and like really have a good mon- doubt too wide receiver. Yeah exactly again from an auction. You can come out of an auction without any guys that are going after round twelve. I think you know i. I actually think that's really possible against a lot of opponents. He actually was seventh highest in the nfl in yards per reception With seventeen point one. I saw this. Cbs three one percent of his routes as a rookie or go routes so he. I wonder if he's on sort of like the decay metcalf progression as a route runner for for the bills. Where basically they're k. As a rookie. Go lineup here. And just run deep in and give us that option and then next year with john brown. God maybe they're gonna expand his route tree getting more involved I think they're excited about his potential. I don't think that we're going back to the josh allen of of old who struggled with d. passing so much and was just making those ridiculous overthrows where it was like. I think he's got a chance to be a true every down back. And i mean it you know when when you think about like the true Back the true multi-purpose backs in the nfl. I think at the end of this year. I think he's going to be so much more involved. I think the team wants him to be a massive part of the passing game. I don't think they want jd. Mckissic's quality dump offs that they want homerun ability. They want to have you know the amount of plays and gibson's hands where one and twenty is going to go for forty yards and change a game and but this is concerning because my my understanding expectation prior to hearing about this was that that toe injury was completely gone. I mean this is months and months. Later it's lingering i've reached out to matthew. Bets are injury expert will will Data and and. I'm sure as we continue talking about gibson going forward we'll see if that is a normal timeline recovering. Nothing to worry about. Or if that means that there could be more potential for reactivation or problems in twenty twenty one. I would be buying the dip if people are out there leading this effector view of antonio gibson in september right now. I would jump on that. I'll just throw it. Jd mckissic was much better yards per reception than gibson last year for that home run ability and he caught a lot of passes. He did catch a lot of past one. Hundred and ten targets. Eighty receptions. yeah. I'm not saying that. Jd mckissic is not good or that he that tony who gibson clearly showed more homerun ability on the targets that he had but clearly. We've seen them both on the field. When you talk about the explosive athleticism gibson's an entire 'nother level. And and it takes the reps to be able to get that. I i mean. I don't think his vision is bit natural. He just doesn't have that same type of footwork that you want the position when the whole is there and he's able to run on the cost that's fine but we have to create. I don't think he's there yet. Despite him being six to twenty. I just think they need someone to pair up with him to help. Take some of the pressure off clyde edwards deal. I running back selected last year. Big time fantasy bust clyde edwards dealer. I think we'll see a better year from him again. He got injured in a game. Where you missed some time And i just think trying to figure out how they want to play offense. Sometimes it's going with the plane. But then you realize we got pat mahomes and got all these weapons at receiver that's utilized that in the running game becomes an afterthought but i think we'll see a bounce back your i think you'll get to that thousand yard mark at about five yards a carry. Wanted to score short yardage touchdowns i want back. So best suited for these short yardage go allies situations. Because you can't see him you know. It makes it tougher target. And i think you know we saw barry sanders get a lot of touchdowns stripped away for him because it through gerald more in there on the goal line. But you want those guys.
