The Return of Neo-Appeasement: Are We Doomed to Repeat History?
"The neo appeasement that's in the water. And everyone takes that as an insult. I don't mean it as an insult. I mean it is a genuine ideology that dominated in the 30s from Stanley Baldwin through Neville Chamberlain, which is you can satisfy dictators. You can actually do a deal with a dictator that they will stick to. That's back and it's deep. We saw Reagan beat it in the 80s with the deployment of the parachutes and the cruise missiles, but it's back and the neo appeasers don't want to deal with you. How is the committee going to get that to change? Well, the Democrats on the committee be vital to that change. Well, we're hoping to have our first set of policy recommendations out next week. We're working towards a strong set of recommendations that are focused on Taiwan, as well as a smaller set of strong recommendations that came out of our hearing on the ongoing Uyghur genocide, which leads to something that we're doing from our night. We're having a hearing tomorrow night on the CCP's ongoing economic aggression globally and how we level the playing field. We have this witnesses roger Robinson who designed and was key to the implementation of Ronald Reagan's economic warfare strategy against the Soviet Union. We have bob lighthizer, who served as U.S. trade representative and we have Eric Schmidt, who obviously was the head of Google and brings a private sector experience. And so we're hoping that hearing will then tee up our broader effort, which is the next phase of the committee's work, which is focused on selective economic decoupling and how we win this economic competition. Because a lot of the sentiment for engagement and appeasement comes from the private sector comes from Wall Street. It comes from K street. It comes from Hollywood. It comes from silly Silicon Valley, and there's this naive belief that we can just go back to the status quo ante that somehow we can go back to the good old days and return to the responsible stakeholder hypothesis or the more theme parks we open up in China, the more the better behaves Xi Jinping will become. I disagree with that, but we need to have a conversation with the private sector and get them to understand that there is no such thing as a private business in China.

Tucker Carlson Slams Fox Nation in New Leaked Video
"I mean you'd want a video where he looks bad not the platform correct Jim cue that up so they can hear this is about a minute and 8 seconds here Here's what's going on here Tucker's on the phone and it's one of those outtakes like I said it's between cuts during a commercial whatever it is And it's being recorded because of the open lav mic And he's talking about our video he's about to do an interview with Andrew Tate And Andrew Tate at the end he's talking about how it's going to appear on Fox nation but nobody really watches it because the platforms essentially glitchy So I'm a little confused If you were going to release some hidden audio you'd want to release audio doesn't make you look it's just very strange Here listen you be the judge Give it a majority of it Like if we go like 45 minutes it's going to be equal vaccination But nobody's going to watch it on Fox nation Nobody watches Fox nation because the site sucks So I'd really like to just put the dump the whole thing on YouTube But anyway that's just my view I'm just frustrated with it's hard to use that site I don't know why they're not fixing it It's driving me insane And they're making lifetime movies but they don't work on the infrastructure of the site like what It's crazy and it drives me crazy because it's like we're doing all this extra work and no one can find it It's unbelievable actually I don't know who runs that site too Tomorrow night that's the plan And then what is going to do is drive a lot of people to watch this on approximations to be a great help to what we're doing over there today I know we're doing our part We're working like animals to produce all this content and the people in charge of it whoever that guys whatever his name is like they're ignoring the fact that the site doesn't work And I think it's like a betrayal of our efforts That's how I feel So I of course I resent it

Dennis Is Living Déjà Vu...
"I'm living deja vu because I undergo this every time I speak at a college, but you would not know this, but about four and a half years ago, I conducted because music is my avocation. The Santa Monica symphony orchestra at the Disney concert hall, and 7 of the members of the orchestra refused to play for me because, after all, how could a conservative be even allowed to conduct music? Even though I didn't say a political word the entire time in rehearsal or at Disney, it doesn't matter. A conservative should not set foot in Santa Monica. They're polluting the soil of a left wing city. And which is almost what the mayor and the previous mayor actually said. Be that as it may, I had on one of the violinists who was a professor at UCLA. I had him on my show to his credit he came up, most of them are cowards. He came on and the sweet man, a lot of sweet people do damage, so it's not contradictory. He even brought his wife who sat in as well. She didn't speak she was, she sat in at the studio and that was fine with me. But it was his convoluted defense, I said, so you called me a racist. Do you have any evidence for that? And there was none. There was none. But so I just repeat, again, professor Anderson, that I have invited any one of these 35 and I will say that tomorrow night at ASU.

Tony Perkins: The State of Faith, Family, and Freedom Address
"You've got a big, big event happening tonight, and I wanted to talk about that. You are delivering your state of faith, family, and freedom address. That is tonight, FRC dot org is the landing page there. Tony, what is the state of faith family and freedom? Well, it's under assault by this administration. We're going to talk about the core value issues that define America. America was a great nation because it was a good nation that moral foundation has been steadily chipped away at over the centuries over the decades, especially the last 6 decades. This administration taking a jackhammer to accelerating the pace at which they are pounding this very foundation. So we're going to talk about those issues that the president will not touch tomorrow night or we'll be talking about the reverse side. I'm sure he's going to tout his administration's championing of quote unquote reproductive freedom essentially violating the law pushing abortion pills through the mail trends our children with as radical agenda coming out from the left. And so we're going to talk about that. But we're also going to highlight Todd, the fact that Americans have had enough and they're not waiting for Washington to solve the problems anymore. And so parents across the country are taking matters into their own hands, running for school board, electing school boards, protecting their children, we see more work in the pro life arena taking place. So there's a lot to be encouraged about as people realize that our faith, our families and our freedom. Really, they really are under attack.

Caller: Biden Should Be Impeached Following Spy Balloon Failure
"Everybody else. I'm just upon what I saw this weekend. I mean, ever since last Saturday, the 28th defendant they've known about this thing and to allow an enemy of the United States to launch a balloon to go over sensitive military targets and do nothing about it and we have to find out about it through an amateur photographer is just advanced derelict and it works treason. But Todd, I think that articles of impeachment should be presented today in the house against Joe Biden. I think Kevin McCarthy said that I am a platform tomorrow night to deliver his State of the Union address. And I think we need to get to the bottom of this, but this man is clearly compromised by communist China. He's compromised by Ukraine and he is just, it's just there's nothing good out of this. Even worse than that, I'm afraid we have cowards in The Pentagon, Charles. Oh, yeah. Well, just look at the cast of characters around by Millie, Lloyd Austin, Anthony blinken, and they were going to Protestant blinken over to China to announce the following relations until they had to acknowledge this. But it's just, this guy is so compromised by the Chinese and three 100 million Americans saw that thing in the sky this weekend and there's no way to hide or a lot about it. And

Victor Davis Hanson: Public Pressure Forced Biden to Act on Balloon
"To apologize in advance for what we're going to have to suffer through tomorrow night as grandpa Joe stands there at that massive podium and takes credit for things that he has no business taking credit for, it is and I'll bet he makes the Chinese spy balloon a centerpiece of tomorrow night State of the Union. Victor Davis Hanson was a guest with Dan bongino over the weekend on Fox News channel had some pretty solid analysis as Victor Davis Hanson always has on this massive failure by the Biden administration waiting until after this spy balloon completed its mission going from the northwest all the way off the east coast of the United States before finally shooting it out of the sky over Myrtle Beach. This administration could have taken this thing down as it approached the Pacific or over the aleutians and our airspace or water space, but they didn't do it. And I don't think they would have, and I think you're right unless somebody had saw it. And then the explanations kept changing. They said, well, it's just a weather balloon. It's not very sophisticated. They can find it by spies. And then people's pointed out, well, it has a capacity of two buses, so they must be experimenting with a big payload, and they could have weapons significance. And maybe this slow moving balloon can take more accurate pictures. And then they change and said, well, we wanted to protect people, and we were afraid of the debris. And Montana's a pretty empty place. And so I think public pressure finally forced the administration to do that. But if we had done anything like that in China, we would be on the brink of a war.

Are You Going to Watch Biden's SOTU Speech?
"I asked you, are you going to watch? Are you going to watch tomorrow night, the big State of the Union? Joe Biden looking to do some kind of weird victory lap. He did get a good jobs report the other day, but as I've said, and I'll continue to say, I just don't buy it. I believe we're heading towards stagflation. And I don't think that he's going to be able to fix it. The fed is not going to be able to fix it. And you're going to see the pain eventually in the markets. But anyway, he had this whole speech planned, right? And then this balloon thing happened. And he tried to hide it. He wanted to hide it. We have reports now coming from the not exactly conservative New York Times saying that there was an effort to just downplay it all. We also are getting mixed reports from unknown intelligence sources in the media saying, oh, this has happened before. Yeah, this is like the totally normal. Apparently it happened off the coast of Hawaii before and this is just par for the course. The Trump administration intelligence officials are coming out and saying absolutely not no way this never happened. So there's a little bit of a dispute going back and forth on that. You know which side the media is on. So they're trying to also downplay this saying really no big deal. I think it's kind of a big deal. And I think the American public think it's a big deal. So I think as such, Joe Biden would be extraordinarily disrespectful to all of us if he just didn't address it. I don't think he cares about being disrespectful, per se, but he does know he's going to have to address this. There are lots of questions. So I would imagine the entire section on our international relations China, Russia, Ukraine, everything that's going on is likely being rewritten as we speak.

"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason. What's the old saying you learned something new every day? I never realized. I guess because I'm not Jewish, that Passover always falls around a full moon. It's designed that way. The calendar for Passover is built around the moon cycles. To most people, the full moon this weekend is called the pink moon. And it's not because the moon will actually be pink for the most part, although sometimes full moons are pink depending on the sky conditions. It's about the fact that they blossom around the time. The dogwoods blossom every year. And with dogwood trees having pink blossoms, it's given the name the full moon. Of course, just like everything. We've talked about this before. I think I've even talked about the pink moon before. Every full moon now has to have a name. So the full moon comes in at one 55 in the afternoon. My time on Saturday. So how do you have a full moon during the day? So you'll actually see some of the pink moon because of where it falls tonight tomorrow night and into Sunday Night. I didn't realize the Passover moon was always a full moon. I've heard people talk about the Passover moon before, but had no clue. So why is it the pink moon and not to pass over moon? We'll leave that up for debate.

"Now on double DT OP the House select committee investigating the capital riot is set to vote today on a contempt of Congress charge against former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows the full House could vote on it tomorrow Last night the panel released a report that lays out the case for a contempt vote highlighting documents Meadows turned over to the investigation before he stopped cooperating with it Joining us now on Skype CBS senior investigative correspondent Katherine harrods and Catherine what are we learning about this case against the former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows Well this is a 51 page resolution in favor of contempt for the former White House chief of staff And among the revelations says the records from Meadows indicate that he was in contact with rally organizers on the ellipse on January 6th that he states that the National Guard would be there to protect pro Trump people and significantly it discusses a constitutional analysis by which the vice president could avoid the Electoral College certification vote Now these records are described by the select committee They're not independently released but it gives us a window into the topics that they say they wanted to drill down with the former White House chief of staff So what has been the response from the Mark Meadows legal team Well Mark Meadows lawyer sent a letter to the select committee and said that they want them not to bring contempt against the former White House chief of staff He described it as a good faith invocation of executive privilege and executive privilege is this principle whereby conversations between the president and his closest advisers are shielded from public dissemination so that they can have candid conversations What I found so interesting about this letter is that if you read to the end and it's always worth doing reading to the end of these letters it states I don't think I've heard this before that they recognize and do not dispute that there was violence and interference with the democratic process on January 6th and they describe it as deplorable and unjustifiable but they say this is still not enough for the former White House chief of staff to abandon what he says is a centuries old principal of the democratic process executive privilege So what are we expecting on the hill today related to meadow's contempt charges Well it's in some ways probably pro forma We expect the chairman and the vice chair of the select committee to make opening statements and then they'll take a vote There's every expectation at this point that it will proceed from the committee Remember it's a three step process It's contempt has got to get out of the committee to a full vote in the House and if it clears that hurdle then it would go to the Justice Department to consider a criminal contempt referral in Meadows case It's a lot different than Steve Bannon because he did provide limited cooperation And that effectively muddies the waters on the challenge against him All right Katherine thanks as always Thank you Yes thanks CBS senior investigative correspondent Katherine harridge And coming up here on TLP we'll talk about Virginia's red flag law Four 44 I.

California Has a Lot of Recall Attempts, and Not Just for Governors
"The city of los angeles alone. There are currently three efforts underway right now to recall members of the los angeles city council and the tone of the l. a. times here is telling quote another day another recall notice in the city of los angeles. You need a grand total of five voters to get together to begin the process of calling for a recall for los angeles official five voters. Literally you can start a recall with the number of people you can fit in your camry and it's not just lay across the state of california. There are more than seventy elected officials who are facing the threat of recall just this year. Because that's how they do it in california california asked for recalls all the time you can mount a recall campaign against any statewide elected official for any reason at all if you can achieve the grand results of collecting signatures from just twelve percent of people. Who voted in the last election for that seat. Not twelve percent of registered voters but twelve percent of the number of people who voted in the last election for that seat specifically. That's all you need to be able to get that. Statewide elected official. Put up for recall as low bars. Go this is kind of so low. It just sits there on the floor and invites you to walk on it. And so every governor in california for the past sixty years as faced at one attempt to recall them And you will of course recalled the successful two thousand and three recall of democrat. California governor gray davis. That's how we ended up. Bizarrely with governor arnold schwarzenegger for a hot but now the republicans are trying again with this. Recall attempt that they are mounting against democratic governor gavin. Newsom the polls close tomorrow tonight Excuse me close tomorrow night at eight. Pm pacific time

We'll find out which one tom brady's seven is his favourite. But we're gonna start in new orleans where saints wide receiver. Michael thomas underwent ankle surgery last month and could miss the start of the season as a result. A source told. Espn thomas was troubled by the ankle injury. Throughout last season and our adam schefter had previously reported. He was expected to undergo surgery to repair the torn. Deltoid and other injured ligaments in his ankle so jeff. He has the surgery in june. This puts the start of the season in jeopardy. What more can you tell us about the timing of all of this dan. The timing is the most peculiar aspect of all of this because as you mentioned adam schefter reported months and months ago. This surgery was going to need to take place now. The question of course here is about is a matter of. He's going to miss likely four weeks of the season. Why couldn't have gotten the surgeries done sooner. That'll be a question. That michael thomas shirley will be asked at this point. We don't have the answer but we know right. Now the thomas did have the off season. June is the time when he got the surgery and now he's going to miss the start of the season. So one of the most important saints players will certainly potentially impact that quarterback competition that we've been talking about..
