I'm sure got paid decently so everyone wins in a situation like this and look i like again. I had this argument. Sergio this week like i learned something about jake paul. That was a learning experience for jake. Paul the boxer up until that point he had never gone past two rounds in a fight. He had to go eight rounds in. This is another thing by the way. How many guys in their fourth professional fight going eight rounds like zero. Unless you're shinko. You're not going that deep into fights early in your career especially when you have no amateur background. Like jake paul. But i learned that he can take a punch and recover which he did in that fourth round. I learned that he learned more importantly. You've gotta be in better shape to go eight rounds. But even when he was under pressure he did enough to win the fight by decision so i thought he got better as a boxer as a result of the tyron woodley fight. Yeah i think that until now if you had questions about like how seriously did he take this. You could have maybe had some question marks because of how easy his previous fights where he could be a little bit. You still could knock these guys out now. I think this kind of dispelled that myth. Because to go eight rounds against someone who knew how to fight and tyrone woodley's not a great boxer but he's an accomplished fighter and knew what he was doing in there and was able to apply pressure or at least move forward for eight rounds. Jake paul is taking this seriously. And i i mean this as a compliment. This is not demeaning. If if i didn't know jake paul was jake. Paul work famous if he didn't have tens of millions of instagram followers. I just saw him on an undercard somewhere or on a club. Show somewhere jake. Paul would not look out of place and that's a real compliment because this is someone that did not have an amateur background. He never box before effectively. He's been training for three years. And he's got himself to a very respectable level now because he's rich and famous. It has nothing to do with. Its time he's able to have to former world title challengers basically live with him and he can train full-time and he has those advantages other guys. That are foreign. Oh probably don't because they have to work day job so he's had its advantages. But i still think the getting to this point where he's at right now to me is very impressive to be a passable like club level undercard fighter at this point. Three years into your career is an accomplishment. Now i know. Bj floors is co trainer. He's having just as good a time as jake paul ryan this. There's no doubt about that Look actually think that it being so close in a tough fight for jake creates more opportunities for him now. Like you said it's going to take some time off. I mean these guys if they sniff a payday as we've seen countless times before they will get in the ring and box with jake paul. Mitchell didn't have any boxing experience before he was an athlete. He was a high level athlete. Jake paul didn't play at michigan state. But jake paul. Was you know a high school. Athlete clearly has some athletic capability and he's got nothing but time to learn how to be a boxer so maybe maybe he does develop into something even better in more that we have to take a little bit more seriously on the world level. I want to continue to challenge myself and continue to fight bigger names. And i think i will earn both of those the ability to do both of those things. How do you balance that jake. Because you're trying to get better as a boxer but you're also trying to make the most marketable fights possible which sometimes can be in conflict where you're not maybe not facing an opponent that will necessarily make you better but you're facing an opponent that will get you paid. I guess i i guess. I haven't come to that crossroad yet. Just because each one of my fights going into it. I was just as stepping into the unknown as everyone else. Yes i know what i could do in in the gym in sparring yes. I beat real pros in sparring in the gym. But i didn't know what was going to happen with ben. One is belts with his fist. So i'm stepping into the unknown. I'm testing my own ability and getting more comfortable under the lights. And so i think thus far it's it's been pretty easy to to make to match make i think after this fight you know depending on how it goes in what happens. I it's definitely gonna get increasingly harder. Where do you see your your improvements coming over the last couple of years. Because i tell people that you know you you can box like. I don't know what level you can box on yet. But when you see you when watch you in the ring like there's legitimate technique to to what you're doing it's not just the perception. I think people have of youtube guys getting in the ring and kind of wildly swinging around like where. Where do you see your improvements coming from the last couple of years. you know. yeah. I haven't really been able to even show my boxing ability because all the flights have been so i haven't been able to show my cardio my ability to take a punch by inside a fighting my combinations my work to the body. I haven't been able to really get in there and go. Go into some later rounds. But you know my coaches b. j. j. leon and jacob. We're trying to become a well rounded fighter across the board and be able to get through any situation and fight tough All parts of the ring So you know a lot of improvement on just ring. I q and getting sparring in the gym. You can't you can't replicate that anywhere else in that's really been the main focus is sparring and getting the experience under my belts. You know my ears perked up when showtime signed you to that multi fight deal because a lot of ways that legitimised you in the boxing world with showtimes.
