"What is your strictly looking at it from the team side. Then you know what else is there. What do we learn from post right. Post motoo interviews. Nothing for the most part Yeah you're right very little. I mean you could save for the team's sake. Hey it is getting sponsor's logo that's partially they pay for right but i don't know i would hate for it to start being like hey man that really helped let's end in. It just becomes a habit because like you said there's no reason not to if your team's cool with you thanking sponsor the podium there's literally no other penalty and then an hour between motos. That's assignments really helps you. I think my personal opinion is that i think doing would've definitely thought harder if not for the title. I'm not. I don't know if he can beat him. I'm not saying it's the reason. Telnack one by any means. But i think the fight would have been much more cigarettes. Get how about tomac when he when he got him and that next lap time it was. A two nine to dylan was to thirteen five. Four seconds yeah. I mean by dylan was chilling. But anybody else same thing would whoever else you want to put in there like just before that to eleven to twelve. That's what i'm saying. He backed off like the it was over. I okay but it was two point. Seven seconds so i understand. I understand your point. I'm just saying. I think we've seen him this year in that situation. Fight hard whether it was red. Bud or bud creek or whatever. The races iron man like he has proven that he's not scared to stand up to back in that scenario until my back that up with a to ten five you want a second slower but that was still four seconds better than web for indus. So yeah i just believe that once wants tomac made the move for and is completely backed out of it as far.

"Good job salmon the after the second moto and i was going to go interview and he looked. He looked like he worked really hard. And i was. I was like i'm gonna give that man some time. Hey you guys get to see the whole thing. Only watching my ballot sunscreen. How many times has it been denote followed by amnesty or vice versa. The motives zero percent. Yeah yeah you gotta point there. Yeah dino wilson heart raft. You know what are we. What are we think about. Dino like big picture because i mean there was a time where he was like the next big thing like we had really high aspirations for him and then now watts of injuries later which can't be overlooked. Got you know eighth overall right. Oh that's that's a really good day. Good job the to fifty national champion. Yeah exactly. That's what i don't i don't know what to do with that. Like in my supposed to be kind of overall disappointed or like. Oh he's of doing what he's supposed to do. When beano jumped to four fifties. I mean how many podiums four fifty five podiums in a four fifty class total. Maybe rhino indianapolis super. You know one year the there haven't been at right. That's what i'm saying. So i'm totally with jt. His entire career has been changed my injuries but at the same time when he's been healthy. He hasn't shown a ton of speed in four fifties. Jose injury number we can work with speed was literally that was about him. Yeah that was me. Jt going nuts when he jumped on chad's bike and almost one daytona qualifying. Yeah i was wondering what's that the almost. He even almost wednesday tone. I think you've led the main the podium. I don't think so. I don't believe okay anyway. Who's hauling ass. Know it was like. Oh my god and you're like well you got to do the whole race. Yeah i just think with the injuries. I feel like. That's not the same dean wilson. We're discussing right. Like we're not discussing the dean wilson. Who was as good as you know as good as roxanne as good as tomac like. He beat them for title. He was right in there with those dean. Wilson de ordine wilson. Barsha tomac like the same guy. Yeah yeah yeah exactly. But that's not the dean wilson anymore so to me that's why you can say eighth is good Because we just know..

"That special person who i wrote about in true refuge and so special person gets caught in feeling superior like she knows more knows better and also kind of entitlement she special person. I'll say she but may here i am. It's easy to say. She put her out there and it happened. Twenty years ago thing special person. I came from a family of four the oldest. So i was. The boss does entitled to get my siblings to do whatever they wanted. I was impatient in offended and Uptight when they didn't and people them didn't cooperate and others this function. I'm supposed to have my way. So i've i've kind of gotten a lot more gracious and smooth and not so caught in that persona except when i am so so example. I think this is about a year or so ago. I'm not that long ago. I remember being i do A daily walk by the tomac. We live right near the park. And and that's when i get really honest with myself walking and i can replay things that happen. Just really get. oh okay. Well that was really coming from that. That inflation space and started sensing with jonathan. My husband how my computer had been flaking out and how. I was expecting jonathan to drop everything to take care of my computer. I had so much to do. I was so important that i was expecting him to kind of organize himself around me and got really upset with that because it was so not new. It was so familiar that once again i had kind of created a distance Out of the sense of some entitle men are self important. And so when i get upset with it. There's a swing. And i'm as much in the shame as i am in the importance. I'm ashamed of the importance of the importance. Still got some tenacity. And i did the same thing i've done in the past which is at first. I tried to meditate myself out of self-importance tried to to in some way you know. Throw out all the different meditative tools. I could do to not feel like a special person are important person are like i had a right to such and such and what i found was that It just left me feeling defeated. It was like this has been going on for decades. I can't get rid of this and a real sense of kind of despair. Like am i gonna you know here. I am teaching stuff about waking up from the ego and religion. We are not gonna live huge swath of time in some way with self-importance.

She's still looking for the that certificate out there where someone died from public speaking. Yeah we something that people bring up. As while i have the butterflies in my stomach and i my heart's racing and unlike but can people see the butterflies near sonic. They can't. They can't mush her. "Momentum could all shifts right here. I just think he's i wanna win. I i've been waiting this whole motor. And i'm gonna i'm gonna go for it right tries hard as i can versus like this big picture macro view about tomac and momentum because talks fifty plus points down. He's not even second points. So i was just curious. Your guy's thoughts on that of what's going through fernandes's mind in the moment walk. Couple friends specifically made mention about not too many people beat. Eli tomac late in the moto about. Yeah and you know. He was very stoked on that right that he did that he was very. He mentioned it a couple times. I think it's the same idea right. Yeah you just wanna win. It's too early to start like what if the momentum just wanna win. I think i think trying to trying to say that. A rider is thinking about big picture momentum for championship when your your heart rates two hundred in the last few apps i don't i'm not i'm just not there. I always shade. An aside of. I said it's a million times there. They do not calculators. Handlebars i feel that. Most of the time and this is based on tons and tons of post race conversations of riders mechanics. Teens people teen people over twenty years. It's usually under thought not over thought. It's yes it's as simple as yeah. I was in the lead. I was trying to win. Like i'm not like okay. I could let them pass still overall. Wouldn't it be affected. Points wouldn't be like they pretty much. Just go as fast as they can for as long as they can and then they finish where they finish to me. That's pretty much the way. The racing goes to strategy game. Highly over thought and over analyze. It happens that stuff you think about this week and next week at the track. And you're on your your bicycle all during the week..

"No i was over in that media corral but he had already done like eight interviews mike. I'm molly malone. He was he was stoked man he lost and he was told he said yeah. It sucks to ride that good and not win. You know what i mean. But he's like. I gave it my all. The fans are amazing. And what are you gonna do man like i mean like wh what can you do. I was trying. I was trying and he was happy. He was really happy and he got second. And i don't know. I was just thinking to myself. We a little bit about what you were saying about like guys aging right and and maybe he's rap and i talked to him every race so i don't know for sure but i felt like it. Southwick he was a little pissy at his day and and for whatever reasons he wasn't just this is larry. this is just. This is just a matter of interpretation. So i cannot believe the path that you have just gone down okay. So i didn't need interview like is coming brower from racer x already had and he's like i was surprised. I saw how happy on the podium. But then when i interviewed him after the race he seemed super unhappy because he didn't win and he's like well like that. You've got to try to get the winds on those days. And then in addition steve. I could not believe how happy i thought. So maxine when i did talk to him after southwick and you're saying he seemed unhappier then so i don't know really funny. He he exactly how maybe we ended up in the world where we're at today right with news but yeah i felt like he was just like the first motors are a joke. I got to figure that out that kind of stuff you know at southwick and this one he was like. Yeah what can you do. What can you do like. I gave him my man you know. So he blew it. He blew it not turn right after the mechanics. I think he had a shot at trying a move and then outside berm. He was railing. He just blew it. And that was it but i think go ahead well he. He told us that he he was trying to set up dylan the same way. He set up sexton after the finish right. Couple turns after that. And so that's what he was sidelined. Right that's what he was trying to do. But at that point when he screwed up the corner the mechanics he had lost his chance because it was a white flag lap. You know what i mean. So he tried before comes before that. Yeah he tried that. He just didn't get there what he didn't get inside the way he did on sexton and then after that he was railing that outside wine and it kind of blew out on him. But i think as a precedent that you just have to give you know. Sometimes you just have to nod your head to civil. I mean he. He was incredible the way he was able to ramp his intensity backup. doesn't happen very often. Most guys can't withstand a tomac run. And i think that was vintage tomac in those last few apps and for says just found a way to fight it off and thomas faster like we all know but try to think of times or somebody's able to been able to hold that off and i just think you have to tip your captive francis. Hey good job you did enough in the first. You know ninety five percent of the race..

No filler. welcome back to the general tire down and dirty radio show powered by polaris razor. Jim beaver chris. Leoni here we are going through our power. Rankings we've talked a little bit of formula one at number five which means we got four spots left to go and now the f. one out of the picture. It's gonna be interesting to see the way our next four stack up chris. So who do you have a sitting there number four on your list. So number four i am going to go with. I'm actually gonna go to promote across. And i am going to go to thunder valley And i'm gonna go with ken. Robinson for the one in the four fifty class. You know we've had all sorts of different discussions about ken rocks and over the years like he's gotten hurt he's had issues he hasn't been able to win supercross title. You know this thing that thing the other thing we really beat down. Ken rocks right. You know we've we've always kind of done this and we've done it with tomac to finally you know tomac finally got his supercross title so i think that quelled some of the criticisms and yet now he lied. Tomac is not going to be with kawasaki next year. And i don't think we've seen the announcement on where he's going. So there's you know. But ken roxanne i mean he's one of those guys who gotten hammered year after year after year in the media for different things. He's gotten hurt you know. Can you be consistent enough. Can you win championships. you know. Multiple championships can win both indoor and outdoor titles. Whatever you know. But all i see right now is a guy who took the four fifty points lead in colorado. You know he's one up on dylan fernandez. They've got some cushioned aaron plus injure in third Here's somebody who he's been building towards another championship for a long time and we really thought that last year could have been the year. And i think with the gap because of covid just not being himself in the series of salt lake races that they did finish out the year. Kinda got one taken away from him a little bit but somebody who. I think ken rock do again. So i've got him at my number four. Speaking of number four. I had him completely slated in the exact same spot as you did. Kris jenner oxen one and one their thunder valley in my number four spot. Basically for all the reasons you did and he was the only rider that even got close to a sweep the to fifty s. I think it was. I can't remember. I think it was two and a four. Then it up clinching. So i don't want one in promote across. It's not it's tough. It's really tough away. Motorcross does our scoring because to win two main events. It's really hard you know. That's like winning to back to back supercross races in so especially with the length. And how grueling. Those motos are. I'll give kenner rocks and a lot of credit or anybody can pull off and let him pro motocross. But i had rocks in at number four. Just like you. Chris which means we've got three left. Who do you have it number three. Well jim this is kind of a cop out. Because i'm putting a couple of people together at number three but they had equal weekends. Basically so get ahead to aniko wisconsin for the championship off road opener and brock hager and cj greaves. Going to tie them up at number three because both of them swept pro truck class and both of them got one on the other side by side class cj greaves. I mean we've seen him dominate year after year in the mid west Multiple different classes swept the side by side classes last year. In the championships. I believe but Didn't win that pro four title. I think it was kind of duke that got it last year. So cj set up right. You know what i'm gonna dial it back on the tv side of things. I'm going to focus on pro stocked. And i am going to go get that pro for crown back. Did exactly that You know or at least has started the season the way he needs to to do that. Sweeping both of those pro- four races Then managed to get that first pro stock race brock. Haggar you know give him. Some credit comes in from the west coast. Obviously landscape has shifted yet again in short course racing lot of west coast guys heading into the mid west and committing to the full champ. Offroad season brock comes in sweeps pro. Lite comes in manages to steal one from cj in pro stock cj at one seven out of nine before brock. Hager got one in on him at anna goes. So you know that is going to be a hell of about Over over the next few months as they try to fight those out. They seem like they're going to be the drivers to beat and their respective pro-trump classes so the pro stock side by sites where they're gonna even the score so tight number three for those guys. Well i Somewhat similar at number three as you i had. Cj grease at number three. You know obviously mainly for his a win pro four stack field the mid west this year you know and and with cj taking. I guess sweeping the weekend. And i think this is a tough one because none of these drivers had any data. They didn't have any setups this attract. That hadn't been run. And i think like a decade So it's You know. I think it's tougher to get a win this weekend than it is on any other given weekend just because the lack of data and things but you know just for all the reasons you said i had cj greaves sitting at number three on my list which makes me wonder if our number twos and ones are going to.

Tomac fended off a furious last lap charge by Cooper Webb to win Sunday's round thirteen of the monster energy AMA supercross series at a very muddy rice circle stadium in Salt Lake they're going to be writing again on Wednesday I believe it's seven PM you can catch that this is continuing all month long the supercross series and let's see a Wednesday seven to ten that's eastern time seven to ten on in BC the end of their of their sports if you are missing sports you can have some sports also NBA may use crowd noise from a video game to supplement the games that they're going to play in Orlando it's from the NBA two K. so they they already have recorded crowd noise from that label they will pipe that in during those games to make it feel like there's exciting things going on because if not it's just a really echo we hear the ball bouncing in a big empty stadium sound and that's no fun let's see whether we have showers happening I know Katie was saying it was raining downtown a little bit ago and that will continue throughout the day into tonight even a chance of some more thunderstorms and very cool fifty six for a high today tomorrow.
Designing Anticancer Drugs with Reinforcement Learning
"Having a background in cognitive science and computational neuroscience and so I've been like focusing focusing on brain research for my pastor five years of education and now recently I've been doing more work on computational tation assistance biology and specifically on cancer and cancer trying to understand mechanisms of how cancer work and how we can find new treatments against cancer specifically quickly and in this work. I've been using mostly deep learning techniques and this will be part of like my presentation here at this conference. It's also and so yeah. So how do those things go together. So I think like many people think it's in a way weird if you come from brain scientists and then you go into machine running right and this is something I would say. It's like it's a very obvious thing to do in a way because if you look back into the history of machine she learning where it all came from like McCulloch and Pitts the first artificial neuron and then a few years later Frank Rosen ballot the perception. And so these were all computational neuroscientists and they were in the end really trying to understand how the brain works and they basically develop the The fundamental of the field of machine learning and so at some point this community and in a way it split up into groups and one group was more trying to and actually understanding the brain works and the other group was more interested in solving the problems. Right right and from this from this community. The machine learning learning community evolved into but whereas computation neuroscience right. Now it's it. It's still a field. It's still out there. It's has been separating more and more from the machine community what's there and originally it has been one like one big community. Yeah and so therefore I think it's quite natural to to have the process. Yeah Yeah you know I think Particularly here at Noor ups I have opportunity to speak with many folks that are kind of working on on that edge of cognitive sciences brain sciences and both using that to inform the way we think about machine learning using machine learning to validate you know some of the biological theories it was maybe more novel is coming from Cognitive Science and brain science and applying machine gene learning to developing cancer pharmaceuticals out in that. Come about yeah. How did that come about a good question? So like if you look at brain scientists this really this problem of seeing the brain which is arguably the most complex thing we have in the universe and and seeing like observing this brain and trying to understand his brain from at different scales at different spatial scales so to speak. So you can think about about the brain in the very abstract and cognitive ways thinking about cognitive phenomena like language and memory those things and you can think about it more from from neural perspective like how do act like what is the most fundamental unit of information processing. How do these units interact? How does information arise? And so like these two fundamentally different approaches and so I like in the first three years of my studies focused on cognitive science which has more top down approach unlike thinking from the big concepts and then down towards the implementation level whereas competition neuro science. They have more like the spot. Him Perspective They in the end and they're trying to solve the same problems but they start first with the basic building blocks like having a biologically plausible neural network model will that imitates basic behavior of neurons. And then they try to scale it up in order to understand more complex cognitive phenomenon and so like these field they really deep. They help each other and they need to work together in order to better understand how the brain works and so after after Android area defeating. Okay I need something a more solid and I really wanted to have this bottom up perspective from competition neuroscience which then I got my masters and so afterwards I I I mean I have to say that I was keen to explore and applications of machine learning because while studying the brain I got really interested more and more into the whole field of data signs and machine learning but and I wanted to apply those techniques but at the same time I wanted to I wanted to still somehow how work with the human body and with humans in general so this is how you how I came about him doing cancer Consume drunk modeling and so the poster is titled Pacman. Tell us about yeah Eh. So pacman is a frame. I mean it's an acronym so spelled with a double double and so it's an acronym. We came up during in my like about a year ago. During my master's thesis for prediction of anticancer compound sensitivity with multimodal attention based neural networks. And and so like when my supervisor came about with this acronym one of very long nights we spend in the lab. We like okay. There's no discussion. This is GonNa be the name for the project. Ah So quite funny how this came about so and we what we're doing in this work at that was the first step step off of the project and presenting at the conference. We were trying to basically forecast the effect the inhibitory effect of emol against a specific type of cancer and so we are treating this problem of predicting cancer drug sensitivity. Not really as the property of a pair and the pair is con- like composed of Itself the chemical the drug that you give to the patient and then the particular to more sell that you want to target because cancer is really like A. It's a family of diseases and the SORTA verse I. I mean there has probably never been two types of cancer that have been exactly alike because the Medicaid of mutations you have they vary like hillbilly inbetween of every individual patients. So it's really unfeasible to try to investigate whether molecule has some onto cancer effects in general. So you really need to treat this problem as the property of pair. So is this drug like hesitant. inhibitory effect against this specific type of cancer patient individually one of the questions. That comes up I is one of the techniques. You're applying here reinforcement learning. How does that play into Into achieving that goal so it comes about in the second step first that was really just trying to predict the sensitivity so the efficacy of Audrey and so what we what we did in consecutive step after we had built this model what we asked ourselves was like. Wow wouldn't it be amazing to have a model that can generate rate new drugs at can like come up and propose new anti-cancer candidate rex. Because in the old pharmaceutical industry there's a huge uh-huh productivity decline in the last few decades and the estimated costs that you have pulled new truck there Estimated to be two three billion Indian USD and most of these drugs that are like FDA approved and approved on the market. So they're really specific only for like very few types of diseases sort of even one disease only so the cost in our indeed that go are like spent in this business. It's just huge and and so we I mean we came up with this framework reinforcement. Learning is really core component. Where we're trying to design anti-cancer cancer drugs specifically for individual patients or groups of patients so we tried to envision the precision medicine perspective here where we're really We're not trying to generically. Come up with new cat. anti-cancer candidate drugs. But we try to like in the design process itself. Both we try to tailor the Monaco the drug specifically to the need of the patient himself or herself and so forth for this framework we use. We're using reinforcement Okay you also mentioned in the title of the poster transcript domain data. What is transcript Tomac data? You're right so you can think about transplant. Tomic data as basically The the expression of every single gene that you have in your body like you do you know about the human genome and so part of the human genome and code for specific proteins and these expression of these proteins. You can measure in the cell. That's different techniques techniques to do that so the most commonly used technique and the technique that was used to measure the data we work with is called are on a sequencing thing. Data we are you measure basically the M. A. Snippets in the cell. And so from this. You can infer basically which genes are expressed to what extent so so you end up if you if you do the sequencing step you end up with a vector of about twenty thousand genes and for each gene you would have an expression value view. This is usually just an integer. Like how many times did you find these Slip it in the sample. And then so this this vector Tori you can really think of it as like a fingerprint of the cell. So it's like it's a proper characterization of the cell there's different types of of comics data. So this is true. Tomic's data right. There's like also genomics data which directly directly measuring gene data and there's also also appropriate mix data actively measuring the the proteins

Squeezed Potassium Atoms Straddle Liquid and Solid
"This is scientific Americans sixty seconds sites. I'm Christopher Dodd Yata. There's solid and there's liquid and now there's something inbetween called chain melt, the Tomac level you have this interaction and this mix up between liquids and solids Andreas. Herman is a condensed matter physicist at the university of Edinburgh, what he and his team of discovered using computer simulations is that under certain pressures and temperatures potassium can be both liquid and solid at the same time. Specifically, they squashed simulated potassium atoms with really extreme pressures two hundred four hundred thousand atmospheres, that's at least two hundred times greater than the pressure. In the depths of the Mariana trench at that pressure. The atoms form two interlocking crystal lattices add heat to that you don't need too much. Just a little bit above the boiling point of water in one of those lattices begins to melt while the other remained solid and Walla chain melt the. Sales are in the proceedings of the National Academy of sciences Herman says there's no reason to stop it potassium. Either. "Be sure to rate review and subscribe. All right. We are back here on the down and dirty radio show, powered by Polaris razor, Jim beaver. Chris Leoni who just killed off an entire segment talking about exactly what we weren't supposed to talk about. But right now, we are getting to power rankings. We had over the last thing. I think we're about ten minutes where we can actually talk power. So Chris you want me to start or do you wanna start here with the with the power? And because I know we're going to do we want to do like both of us give our our fifth fifth-place, and then both of us give our forth, you know, what I mean? And go back and forth that way, that's the way. We should do it that way. Yeah. Let's both start with our five and work their way up. All right. So coming into number five who do you have at number five on your power rankings for this week and listeners keep in mind these power rankings are based on a one week window. So a little bit comes into play over the past couple of weeks, but mainly based on the past seven days of the past seven days body work. So all right. Chris who's your number five, Sarah? Let's see number five I have ally. Tomac obviously, a triple crown win is, you know, something significant to be able to take hold of. I mean ally because of how much he struggled in that third race. I kinda had to knock him a little bit. He. Did exactly what he needed to do to make sure that he broke the tie with Cooper web. But you know, you gotta race to the format and not being. You know, when you know that the third race is going to be the tiebreaker no matter if you want both first and second, and you're putting yourself down towards the back of the pack, and you have to make that pass to, you know, break that tie. You know, I I can't put you any higher than five. I'm sorry. So Tomac makes the list over a couple of other guys that I left off. But you know, I can only put it up to five. Funny thing is actually I had Tomac at number five for a lot of the same reasons. You did obviously he he won the overall event win. He didn't sweep I mean, it's great to see Tomac back in winning form. I think you know, I'm excited to see the winning Tomac back because he's had some struggles this year, and you know, but like you said like, I think Tomac deserve to be on the list. But I just with the way his win wasn't like it was the most dominant effort we've ever seen, you know. So for those reasons. I've got him at number five. So I think you're gonna agreement right there, man. So I don't know. Maybe that might be the only time we agree today on her top five, but I think we're in agreement right there. So that's saying something Chris. Yeah. For sure I mean, you know, we didn't review these thing though, or hand. So we're both kind of flying in blind. But I'll jumping in number four. I got mad Hagen there thirtieth career funny car win. It was the one hundred fiftieth for done Schumacher racing. And you know, somebody like not taking just reliably up front like that. You know? It's it's it's always impressive to see somebody who can win year after year after year like that. You know? I was definitely impressed by him taking down JR Todd and the final there. Yeah. Go in a weird world I actually had Hagen at number four as well. So man, we're we're to for to hear in like, Chris we did not review these. So we have no idea who's on each other's list. But yeah, Hagen Hagen number four. You know? That's I agree with you. It's same reasons. Thirtieth career win. Here's a question for you. And this week at dive into all day, you know, obviously top fuel and funny car the two top divisions in HR a one I've come into this dilemma when doing my power rankings. What what ranks higher top fuel in or or a funny car way? Chris like which field. Do you think is tougher like I think they're evenly difficult, right? I would definitely I mean for me ranking on that had less to do with one class over another class and more one, you know, story over another story. I mean, it's it's kinda the same thing with supercross where you've got to fifty four fifty and we both touched on the four fifty winner. But we haven't touched on the two fifty winner yet. You know, I think it's just I think it's just based on the story of the weekend. You know? So, you know, with that in mind, I mean, number three I had Billy Torrance. You know, obviously, it's not just see who can hold down the fort. I know Billy got his first win last year. And I know he's going to be on the show later, which is awesome talking about this one. But you know, for Billy to go out qualified number one take everybody down staredown Leah Pritchett in the final and take that win. I mean, that's just an awesome story to it's always great to see Billy doing well as well. And you know, them CAPCO, boys. They bill. A hell of a dragster, you know. Absolutely. And this is where we're going to we're going to break, our our deadlock. I had Brad Kozlowski coming in at number three. Obviously a Cup win. You know, it wasn't the easiest race. I think they're still figuring out this new rules package. You know there. It'd Lanta that courses are that track. You know, hadn't been surfaced in a while. It's not an easy one to win at Atlanta. But I guess part of me was the dude race with the flu. And. We're not talking like jumped into something and race for ten minutes with the flu. But to click off a few hours Atlanta Motor Speedway at two hundred miles an hour with the flu like that's just NASCAR sitting in an Askar that he is not what you wanna do when you have the flu. So Brad Keselowski Cup win with the flu. Atlanta new rules package. I race with the new rules. I'm gonna put him in at number three. I don't know what what's your take on his at three or on my list. I guess Chris. Now. I mean, I had a hard time. I gotta tell you. I left Brad off line. You know, and no disrespect Brad. I mean, like you said that's that is a hell of a that is a hell of a feet. You know, just there were a lot of great performances this weekend. And it was just, you know, somebody had to get cut, and I had a couple of others that you know, I thought were a little more significant. Although, you know, my number two, I think is going to be a little controversial on that front because it's Bush, and I mean, I get it like, you know, people don't respect the other two national NASCAR series the way that they respect the cop. I understand that. But the fact of the matter is Kyle Busch is the winningest driver now in both the xfinity series and the truck series. That's phenomenal. And for all the people who want to say, you know. Yeah. But those winds don't matter anything compared to Richard Petty's two hundred. Go look into the history books and see some of the field that Richard petty raced against you know, Kyle Busch Busch's just kind of the same way it just happens to be different national series. But you know, I get the arguments that people like to make about that. But you know, what like I know it's a different up. But those xfinity truck races have probably been at least as hard if not harder to win than some of the ones that Richard petty got and believe me up in a Richard petty fence birth, but you know, facts are facts, I can't I can't deny the truth on that. No. I I agree with you. You know, I kind of look at it at off road to you know, you got like, rob MAC. He's got two hundred career victories or wax. He's probably getting close to three hundred now. But you know, guy like rob MAC, we just say, hey, he's got three hundred career victories in off road. You know, some of those sixteen hundred cars summer in a trophy truck summer to pro four summer in a pro to just give you know. It's just the collective number. We don't say oh, robs got fifty trophy truck wins. You know, so like to me. I look at this thing with Kabul, the same way that's a milestone, and I guess this is part of me is I'm not as well read on NASCAR. As you are like, I've got no problem with you for those reasons having Kyle on your list, you know, I'm not gonna argue with you like guys legit. You know, it's a milestone, I just you know, I didn't have him on my list, but not gonna not gonna argue with you on that one at all whatsoever. Which brings me to my number two, which was your number three, but you had Billy Torrance and it number two. I just had them CAPCO co-boys. Billy had a phenomenal effort. He's actually the points leader and top fuel now. But Steve Torrance man, and I know NHRA actually does their power rankings. Steve still at the top of their power rankings St. with his effort finishing second last weekend. Billy winning like the overall body of effort, you know, what I mean I shouldn't say last week but a couple of weeks ago like I just said them CAPCO boys, which is actually Billy Torrance's performance. But just you know, the cap the whole phenomenal effort by them, you know, the season and last season. So and the season before that when you know, Steve narrowly missed a championship to Britney force. So yeah, I got them CAPCO boys that number two. So who do you got a number one? Chris. Yeah. For sure I mean, I know that I would say say that we try to consider it on a week by week basis. But, you know, context the previous couple of weeks the previous you know, it does factor in a little bit. I think it's going to factor in for both of us because I am pretty sure we're going to share her a number one here, and that's often for cnor sweeping supercross. Triple crown, you know, I know what you said by the way towards the beginning about well Villapando swept it in the monster energy Cup. And yes true. People swept the you know that event, but you know, how it goes Jim people don't care about the money races. When they tracked outs like that. I mean, if people cared about the money races, you know, as legitimate comparisons. The NASCAR fans wouldn't be complaining about stages and Cup races. Because have them in the all star race for thirty years. No. But I mean, what Austin is done this year has been remarkable. I think he's right every lap. If he hasn't come. Oh, close. Three events. He's one of all sweeping the season sweeping that. I had Fortner number one as well. I know I could talk about four khnr while it's gonna be interesting to see what he does arrested season. We're about fifteen seconds away from a break Chris much. Appreciate it for calling in and helping us out with power rankings. I think we we need to do it. More often. Yeah. Absolutely. Anytime you need me. Jim, you know, that I am always willing to talk. All right. Well, thanks a lot Chris. What they're saying: Mixed reaction to Amazon's HQ announcement
"Got a lot of cool reactions from people affected by the Masan headquarters story, Sarah. Yeah, we really did. And we're going to read a few of them now and kinda kinda kinda pick them apart. And and see what we agree with Arthur from Arlington Virginia notes that Amazon's Kurt operations in the area. Which as we noted on the show yesterday are already pretty bast are in Ashburn. Arthur says that's well outside the beltway and the people working in living. They're not gonna wanna commute into Irwin ten Amazon's inside the beltway operations are quotes mainly tied to the government in these are not really HQ function. So Arthur doesn't think that this counts as an expansion for Amazon. Really he and peach also pointed out something that a lot of coverage didn't pass on which is that Virginia Tech will be opening technology campus, adjacent to Amazon. So these are these are good on the ground reports from someone actually in Virginia. I love this. Thank you. Arthur. Granted I think it's fair to say, okay. The folks out in Ashburn aren't going to be feeding into Amazon's Kern opperations, but it is still an area that Amazon is familiar with and was negotiating with. And I don't think they ever thought they would move the people in. But it's it's a fair point inside the beltway stuff, though, I don't know what. Amazon is going to use this second regional office. It's not even HQ anymore. It's a regional office for my suspicion is that it probably will have a lot to do with the government cloud of cloud that Amazon operates, especially if they get that DOD bid thereafter that will probably operate out of there because it's right next to the Pentagon. So I'm less inclined to a seed to to the inside the beltway not mattering because it's government stuff. I think it really does. But yeah, maybe it's unfair to say that that folks being out Nash burner are are part of a of an. Operation that really has any effect on something pretty far away in right on the Potomac, basically. So I don't know what do you what do you think of this, Sarah? Well, you know, one of the things that I'm I didn't realize and thank you Arthur is pointing out the Virginia Tech, huge college opening technology campus, adjacent to Amazon, and how the two might you know, Amazon might funnel and money for research projects, which would make a lot of sense. And like, you said the region itself is definitely skewed government wise. But I think a lot of folks don't realize, you know, even when you hear early intesne Virginia. It's like, well, it's adjacent to Washington DC. Okay. Oh, all right. So, you know, you're you're in this era in this actually, huge metropolitan area. That's not. Yes, they are. They are separate from each other. But collectively, it's it's closer to a lot of industry than than one might think. If they're not from.
