"Forty-three American forces bombarded this tiny Japanese held island eighteen thousand marines landed on the shores of Vecchio and over a thousand would lose their lives there on November twenty third the United States declared victory. Three men of the second marine division landed with a different mission than the rest cameraman cameraman staff. Sergeant Norman hatch staff sergeant John Ercole and Willie. Liam Kelleher Kelly her. They call him Kelly. Filmed the events of the battle of the footage from those days was used to produce with the marines at terroir a film that played in theaters on the home front and won the nineteen Forty-five Oscar for best documentary short thousands of feet of raw footage was saved as as a historical record, and it's all preserved at the national archives. It is amazing to see they have some of the stills. And then they also have actual video. If you follow that it is. I mean, I'm gonna I'm gonna re tweeted as well. It is. Absolutely. I it is amazing to see this. And then to see the stories in the comments and then underneath. For instance, one person shared, how her father was on the USS mobile, and as he lay dying here, we're kind of the horror at terroir, and he was noted I mean, it was official note was made of it. But I mean, it is you actually see battle you see the footage. It's black and white. But it's really crisp and clear. Unbelievably amazing. So I tweeted it out if you follow me at D lash, you've got gotta go check that out because it is unbelievable. Absolutely. Unbelievable. It just I didn't I had never seen. This is some of the clearest footage. Like right there. You're right there with them on the island, you you're right there with them as they take cover. I've never seen footage this clear. Like right there like this from World War Two. I mean, it's just amazing. And there's there's so much footage. Just it's just unbelievable. There's one footage. There's some footage to of when they get the tanks on the beach. There's a kitten that's underneath one of the tanks, and it's terrified I one of our one of our servicemen one of our marines goes over and gives the kittens water and the kitten warms up to him. And it's just it's just a weird thing to see something, so peaceful and slow in the midst of all this battle. There's some really amazing stuff here. Including when they stormed the beach to as well. That's that's pretty amazing to see that. And yeah, there's audio too. But just unbelievable stuff unbelievable stuff. So I fall if you follow me on Twitter, the thing that I just read that I have re tweeted up there, you you got to go check that out. So it's a it's on my time line, just it's like one of my last tweets, so one of the other things because we're coming up on the thanksgiving holiday, and I always I over the holidays. I have a weird tradition that I do before thanksgiving. I watch gone with the wind. I don't know why I I started doing it one night years ago. Because I was baking and I had to wait for stuff to get out. And so I started watching gone with the wind, and then the movie was still going because it's eleven hours long. And so anyway, that's just so I watched gone with the wind in a big stuff. That's what I do. I always wanted to with the one that's the traditional thanksgiving tradition now. And then the other thing is I watch Christmas or I watch westerns Oliver during Christmas. I love western movies. It's probably western movies problem. I think that's my absolute favorite genre. And when I saw that the Coen brothers had this they have it's a film, but it's a compendium of six chapters. It looks at the old west six chapters in a bunch of different very distinct characters, and it's each a different type of western. It's a western, but it's each has its own flavor. The ballot of BUSTER Scruggs, you have got to watch it. It is every single chapter is incredibly different and it start anything with. But it starts out amazing. And I wish the first one was its own whole movie. I feel like the Coen brothers need to explore that first chapter as its own movie. You know, for you know, it was amazing. You have there are a number of people in it. There's gosh. There is. A couple of these some of these stories I cash they don't wanna give away. People said, whichever one you like a sort of a Myers Briggs test, and one of my favorite ones was the one that Tom waits end where he plays a prospector. And it is because his little personality at first I didn't like him because he busts into this valley. And he's like, you know, and you're like you're ruining all the everything stop. But that one it was just such a sweet little story in a way. I mean with one exception. But you if you like westerns if you like the Coen brothers, if you'd like good stories who are that have very very well developed characters and good dialogue. You've got to watch. This have I led you wrong. Have I ever lead? You astray? Actually, you have Tom wait. That's the same guy that had. Yeah. And do you know if you've ever heard of Jessica hoop? She's this folksinger I like her earlier stuff better than her later albums. I like earlier stuff from there from two thousand seven eight. As opposed to her later albums, her earlier work is great. Anyway, the reason I mentioned her is because she used to nanny for Tom weight. And he said that her music was like swimming in a lake at night. Which I thought was one of the best descriptions I've ever heard and it very much as I like her earlier stuff. It's J E S C. But it is I've never lead you wrong. I told you I said you need to watch the witch on Halloween. Watch the witch. And you are a lot of you all out there you watch the witch. And you're like, what did you have me watch? Dana lash, I was so messed up in that black Phillip was crazy. That was terrifying. You gotta watch it the little kids gone back. Philip philip. It's it's messed up. Have you guys seen it yet? Have you seen the wish it Steve yet? I have not my gosh. What is wrong with you? People. You can still watch it. You can still watch it it, but I've never legit wrong. It. Yes. I'll Netflix into Canaan Dana, we're doing thanksgiving together this year. So there's an opportunity. See why am I gonna watch the wit over thanksgiving? I can't. Yeah. I mean, I watch it at night but not on Thanksgiving Day. Okay. I have a weird thing about that. I don't watch horror movies on the day of holiday. I have so many little weird hangups. But I'll totally watch it the next night or the night before I'm watching gone with the wind. And I before so I can't. But it is that that was a terrifying. But this the ballot of BUSTER, scrubs, and the way it ends is so great. So here's my silent for you guys. I want you to watch the ballot BUSTER Scruggs on net flicks. And then next week when we come back from thanks giving break, we I seriously want to know what one you guys like the best. And what I'm gonna do is. I'm going to basically tell your personality type from which one you like which chapter you like the best. I know Liga me I'm gonna tell your personality type based on which chapter. You liked the best because they're also distinctly different. You know, it's also incredibly different. But I forgot the Westminster dog show. I totally watch that on thanksgiving you start the day by watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Then we watched the Westminster dog show, and I basically look at all the dogs, and my my dogs look at all the dogs while Rocco does anyway. It is I have to I have to I have to watch it. What do you Cain says why do you watch the parade? So I just like NASCAR anything else where you look, you know, you wait for the wait for crashes with NASCAR only do. I have no idea what you're saying. Now, watch hockey for fights. What I watched the parade in hopes that a balloon breaks loose or something that's kind of the reason for watching it because it's all tra- boring. It's all tra- the parade is yes, it's ultra boy. I just like hearing it in the background. It's like to see all the big, you know, like what's going to run into a power line or something exciting. That's my favorite are all the singers that you don't know on the floats. China with Kane has a he likes the balloon pop, and I like to see the failures of the limp sinking like the lip synching 'cause you can't sing wise. So it's recorded, and you just see people don't music, and they're all gonna freeze to death out there apparently one. Yeah. But but. They'll have like some Broadway show or something they'll have the rock heads out. There was bring the rock cats out. And then they have some Broadway show like it was rent one year, and it was Chaz hands and aids Jeff Hanson aids. And then they have on these floats. Like, I don't know who these people are sometimes I know them sometimes it'll be like a country person. Or it'll be like a pop music person that you know, is really well established. But other times it's like we got Jimmy who is on the d list for Disney kids and here he is with his new auto tuned album. I can't sing at thanksgiving or anytime of the year. And then it's him singing. And it's like all auto tuned. And he's you know, he's an matching mittens and scarf and earmuffs everything matches. It's all matchy matchy. And you know, he's I just I can't stand it. And then same thing with like the d list is new girls here. They are. And nobody wants to see that. You know? What would be great is? If you just had a float that was an octagon and it right? You're listening to me Dana white, and it went down, and it was part of the parade and octagon, and you would just have people fight in it like, you know, some MMA just like little civic exhibition like like an exhibition, you know, spend it in the air. What balloon that's enough? Like afloat. The balloon could actually be like the light rig above it. With a big gay. You see how I'm thinking. I mean, how amazing is that? Wait, a mainstream in an AA by legit having afloat. And then a octagon Regis do some exhibition. Attention every other floor. Gosh, it would be worthless. Yeah. I mean, you see me marketing right now. And yeah, I'm telling you, I think that would be great and just, you know, just do not like serious fighting. But you know, just. Just have. I just have. No, I like it. I like some choreography stuff maybe get distracted by this video that said Turkey in the White House press briefing room. And I thought it was about Jim Acosta. But it's literally the Turkey..
